COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE-- VEHICLE: 2004 NISSAN ARMADA LE THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP (DEALER) SEVERAL TIMES WITH BRAKE ISSUES. THE ROTORS HAVE BEEN TURNED AND REPLACED AND TURNED AGAIN. NISSAN HAS NOT AS OF YET CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. ABOUT A WEEK AGO, I WAS MAKING A STOP AT AN INTERSECTION WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. I "PUMPED" THE PEDAL AND GOT ENOUGH PEDAL TO BE ABLE TO STOP. ON EXAM OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM, I FOUND THAT THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS OVER HALF EMPTY. WHY? I DO NOT KNOW. I ADDED FLUID AND THE BRAKE PROBLEM APPEARED TO BE CORRECTED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND REQUESTED IT BE EXAMINED TO SEE IF THEY COULD DETERMINE IF THERE WAS A LEAK OF SOME KIND THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FLUID LEVEL TO GET LOW. IN CHECKING OUT THE VEHICLE, THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN WITH THE TECHNICIAN. THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE.*AK
FUEL SENDING UNIT DOES NOT ACCURATELY INDICATE FUEL LEVEL- THIS WAS REPORTED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NEW - ESTIMATED DATE ABOVE. WAS TOLD BY DEALER IT WAS NOT A PROBLEM. NISSAN IS RECALLING ON OTHER MODELS AND ON THE ARMADA BUT ONLY ON SPECIFIC YEARS BUT NOT THE 2004. THIS COULD BE A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION IF I RUN OUT OF GAS AND THE GAUGE IS STILL READING THAT THERE IS GAS. *KB
I HAVE TAKEN MY 2004 NISSAN ARMADA IN FOR BRAKE SERVICE FOUR (4) TIMES NOW. 14737 MILES AND CAR IS ALMOST UNDRIVABLE. NISSAN HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR SOME TIME, AND YET NO FIX IS AVAILABLE. NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS SUPPOSED TO CONTACT MY WITHIN 2 BUSINESS DAYS. NO CALL. I AM LEAVING FOR A 3 WEEK VACATION AND MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. DEALER SAYS MY ROTORS CAN'T BE TURNED AGAIN(THEY'VE BEEN TURNED 3 TIMES ALREADY). DEALER SAYS THEY HAVE NO ROTORS AVAILABLE. DEALER TOLD ME THAT "I" COULD CHECK WITH OTHER DEALERS ABOUT THE AVAILIBLITY OF ROTORS. DEALER GM TOLD ME THAT HE WAS ALSO HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND WAS WAITING FOR ROTORS HIMSELF.
DEFECTED DVD (REPLACED), STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AT BRAKING (6,000 MILES ON VEHICLE), TERRIBLE RATTLING ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS, FUEL GAUGE STUCK ON FULL, HOME LINK SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK.*AK
REPEATED BRAKE SYSTEM REPAIRS, VIBRATION,WHEEL LOCKUP,ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. *NM
STEEERING WHEEL SHUDDERS MAKING THIS VEHICLE UNDRIVABLE,DEALERSHIP AND MANUF. HAVE INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND NO PERM. FIX IS AVAILABLE.ONLY 4800 MI ON VEHICLE AND BRAKE ROTORS ARE WARPED. PLEASE ORDER RECALL.*AK
PURCHASED A NEW 2004 ARMADA IN AUGUST 2004. HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. I RECENTLY WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF BRAKE FAILURE. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE BODY WAS REPAIRED FOR THEM ,TO REPAIR THE BRAKES. MID CITY NISSAN IN CHICAGO INFORMED ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE BODY SHOP DAMAGED THE BRAKES. THIS WAS RIDICULOUS BECAUSE THE CAR WAS IN THE ACCIDENT IN THE FIRST PLACE DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE. . ALSO, THE INITIAL INSPECTION REVEALED, THAT PREVIOUS TO ANY BODY WORK DONE, THE ROTORS/ CALIPERS, AND THE PADS WERE DEFECTIVE. NISSAN WAS WELL AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM, YET THEY DID NIT WANT TO ADMIT IT. IN ADDITION, THE EMPLOYEES OF MID CITY WERE EXTREMELY RUDE AND CONFRONTATIONAL. THEY WERE NOT HELPFUL IN ANY WAY. DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW DID NOT ALWAYS ROLL UP, AND THE STEREO'S VOLUME FADED IN AND OUT. HOWEVER, MID CITY DID NOT WANT TO REPAIR THESE PROBLEMS EITHER BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR". THIS WAS THE WORST TRUCK I HAVE EVER OWNED, AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN. I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW POOR THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS. I AGREE WITH A PREVIOUS POST, I SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT MY $40,000 TO TOYOTA. *AK
I BOUGHT A NEW 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. ONLY 3 MONTHS AFTER DRIVING, I STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES. IT STARTED WITH EXCESSIVE BRAKE DUST AND SQUEAKING BARKES. THIS TURNED INTO A GRINDING SOUND WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLYING WITHIN ANOTHER MONTH, EVENTUALLY LEADINGTHE BRAKE SHUDDER. THE STEARING WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE AS I APPLIEID THE BRAKES. I TOOK THE CAR INTO NISSAN OF BAKERSFIELD TO HAVE THE CAR SERVICED. THE EMPLOYEE WHO SCHEDULED MY APPOINTMENT INFORMED ME THAT ALL 2004 AND 2005 ARMADA AND TITANS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM. SHE INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBELM WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM NOT BEING ABLE TO CARRY THE WEIGHT OF THE CAR, THERFORE THE BRAKES BUCKEL UNDER PRESSURE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. I HAD TO TAKE MY CAR IN A MONTH LATER TO GET THE BRAKES SERVICED AGAIN, DUE TO THE SAME PROBLEM.
I'M LEASING A NISSAN ARMADA 2004 BRAKES OF THE CAR HAVE DEFECTS. THE CAR SHAKES WHEN YOU HIT THE BRAKES, HARD TO CONTROL THE CAR, VERY UNSAFE ON SPEED OF 50 MILES. I SENT THE CAR TO THE MAINTANENCE ABOUT 4 TIMES NOW, AND THE SAME DEFETS HAPPENED OVER AND OVER, LAST WEEK END I LOST CONTROL OF THE CARE AND I WAS ON THE HIEGH WAY AND I HAD TO GET OUT OF THE ROAD TO THE SHOULDER OTHER WISE I WOULD BE CRASH OTHER CARS. PLEASE HELP ME I TIRED FROM GOING BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALER TAKING UNPAID DAYS OFF FROM WORK, I WORRIED ABOUT MY KIDS AND MY FAMLIY SAFETY, I DON'T WANT TO WAIT UNTIL AN ACCIDENT HAPPEN. *AK
THE NISSAN ARMADA HAS BEEN DESIGNED WITH A MUCH INFERIOR BRAKE SYSTEM, REGARDING TO THE SIZE AND WEIGHT OF THE ARMADA. THEY HAD CUT COSTS BY INSTALLING A NISSAN FRONTIER BRAKE SYSTEM WHICH WEIGHS ABOUT HALF THE WEIGHT OF A NISSAN ARMADA. THIS HAS CAUSED THE BRAKES TO GIVE OUT EVERY 5000 MILES AND ALSO CREATES AN UNSAFE BRAKING SYSTEM. IT ALSO ALLOWS THE VEHICLE TO DIVE WHEN BRAKING NOT GIVING A SAFE BRAKING REACTION TIME. THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE CONSTANTLY REPLACED MY BRAKES (3 TIMES WITHIN 15,OOO MILES) AND DID ADMIT THAT NISSAN HAS ADMITTED TO PUTTING AN INFERIOR BRAKING SYSTEM.
THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A SURGE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO STOP RELIABLY. THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS TWICE BUT THE SAME PROBLEM RECURS LESS THAN 3000 MILES LATER. THE HARDER THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED, THE MORE VIOLENT THE SHAKING OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE THROTTLE SHUTS DOWN AND THERE IS NO ACCELERATION CONTROL. THE FAILURE BEGAN INTERMITTENTLY A WEEK AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, IT HAS BECOME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO NISSAN AT LEAST 15 TIMES. THE DEALER WAS ONLY ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE A COUPLE OF TIMES, BUT HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO MAKE ANY REPAIRS. THE FAILURE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERS ATTENTION AS SOON AS IT WAS RECOGNIZED. THE CONTACT WANTED ANOTHER VEHICLE, BUT THE DEALER KEPT STATING THAT THEY WOULD FIND AND REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE CONTINUES TO WORSEN AND CANNOT BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT FILED COMPLAINT NUMBER 6080581 WITH NISSAN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10.
BOUGHT NEW ARMADA IN NOVEMBER 2004. IT HAS BEEN AT THE SERVICE CENTER AT BANKSTON LEWISVILLE TWICE NOW. REPEAT PROBLEM WITH BRAKE FAILURE AND STEERING WHEEL SHAKING. UNIBODY CREAKS ALL THE TIME. 2ND ROW SEAT BELT FAILED TWICE, WHICH THREW MY BABY AND HER CAR SEAT INTO THE BACK OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT!!! DASH AND CONSOLES RATTLE ALL THE TIME. WIND NOISE IS HORRIBLE! DEALER SAID THEY WILL WORK ON IT. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND ARE WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM A REGIONAL SPECIALIST.*AK
FRONT BRAKE BEGAN PULSATING AT 5000 MILE. I BROUGHT VEHICLE TO DEALER WHO TURNED ROTORS AND REPLACED BRAKE SHOES WITH THICKER SHOE. BRAKES ARE AGAIN PULSATING AT 11,000 MILES. I BELIEVE THE VEHICLE BRAKE COMPONENTS ARE NOT SUFFICIENT FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. *JB
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN FROM HIGH SPEED VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY. *AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES AND WITHOUT WARNING VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT A PROBLEM WAS PRESENT, BUT A SOLUTION WAS UNDETERMINED AT THIS TIME. *AK
THE CONSUMER IS EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED VIOLENTLY. THE HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO SAYS PARTS NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR ARE UNAVAILABLE. ALSO, WHEN THE PARTS NEEDED ARE USED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM, OWNERS ARE BRINGING BACK THEIR VEHICLES BACK AFTER 3,000 MILES. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
CONSISTENT FAILURES ON BRAKE SYSTEM. ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS NEED TO BE REPLACED EVERY 3000 MILES. SHORTAGE OR PARTS FORCES OWNDER TO DRIVE VEHICLE AROUND WITH SEVERE SHUDDER IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE PEDAL, POTENTIALLY CAUSING DRIVER TO LOOSE CONTROL IN HEAVY BRAKING CONDITIONS.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE TOOK A LONG TIME TO STOP WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF IT WERE MISALIGNED WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE FAILURE WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM, BUT WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. SHE LATER RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY PLACED A KIT ON THE BRAKE SYSTEM. ONE YEAR LATER, THE BRAKES BEGAN MAKING A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND THE VEHICLE BECAME DIFFICULT TO STOP. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE AGAIN, HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STILL HAD TO APPLY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES AT LEAST FOUR TIMES IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS PRESENT. THE MANUFACTURER IS CONDUCTING AN INVESTIGATION. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,500.
4TH TIME SINCE APRIL 2004 THE BRAKES DETERIORATE TO THE POINT OF IMINENT FAILURE. THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES AND SHAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL INCREASES, AND BRAKES BECOME UNRESPONSIVE. ROTORS HAVE BEEN CUT, PADS REPLACED, ROTORS REPLACED, CALIPER "KITS" INSTALLED, PINS REPLACED, GREASE APPLIED, ETC. THE PROBLEM KEEPS RETURNING. MANY OTHER ANNOYANCE TYPE PROBLEMS AS WELL...RATTLES, NAVIGATION SYSTEM FAILURE, RADIO REPLACED, OVERHEAD CONSOLE CRACKED, REPLACED WINDOW MOTORS AND SWITCHES, POOR WHEEL ALIGNMENT FROM FACTORY.*AK
BRAKE ROTOR WARPING ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP BY MANY OWNERS. ROTORS WERE TURNED AND IT NEEDS IT AGAIN 2500 MILES LATER. I REQUESTED THAT THE ROTORS BE REPLACED BUT REQUEST WAS DENIED. IT SEEMS THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM ON THE FRONT OF THE ARMADA IS NOT SUFFICIENT FOR THE VEHICLE WEIGHT. I AM GOING TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN AGAIN FOR THE SAME SERVICE THIS TIME DEMANDING THAT THE ROTORS BE REPLACED. NISSAN SHOULD BE FORCED TO CHANGE THE SIZE OF THE BRAKE ROTORS, PADS, ENTIRE SYSTEM IF NECESSARY. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT BEGAN TO FEEL A SHUDDERING IN THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS. TWENTY THOUSAND MILES LATER, THE SHUDDERING IN THE BRAKE PEDAL RECURRED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS FOR THE SECOND TIME. FIFTEEN THOUSAND MILES LATER, THE BRAKE FAILURE RECURRED FOR THE THIRD TIME. THE DEALER RESURFACED THE ROTORS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 59,236 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
VIOLENT VIBRATION DUE TO BRAKING AT ONLY 6,000 MILES FUEL GAUGE IS INACCURATE, ENGINE GETS HOT,SUNROOF LEAKS, ROOF RATTLES EXCESSIVELY, DOOR RATTLES EXCESSIVELY. *JB
POOR BRAKING SYSTEM BEEN TO DEALER WILL NOT FIX. BRAKES ARE TO SMALL TO STOP ARMADA PROPERLY. NEEDS BIGGER ROTOR AND PADS. DASH RATTLES VERY LOUD WILL NOT FIX. POOR PAINT ON BLIZZARD ARMADA. *JB
FRONT BRAKE ROTORS WARPING
MY WIFE OF 110 LBS SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT INDICATES THAT IT IS OFF. WITH A LARGE DEGREE OF FIDGETING IN THE SEAT IT WILL SHUT OFF THE LIGHT BUT TURNS BACK ON WITHIN A FEW MOMENTS. WE HAVE SET IN OTHER NISSAN ARMADAS AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WILL GO OFF WITH HER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.*AK
COMPLETE BRAKE REPLACEMENT AT 6300. *AK
VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT WHEN BRAKING. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, AND MECHANIC TURNED BOTH FRONT ROTORS. WITHIN 120 DAYS THE PROBLEM RECURRED.*AK
MY ROTORS WERE WARPED CASING PULSATING WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES AT 3700 MILES. THE DEALER TURNED THE ROTORS AND AS I HAVE BEEN READING FROM THE COMPLAINTS, I WILL BE BACK DURING MY NEXT OIL CHANGE. THEY NEED TO REDESIGN THE ROTORS TO HANDLE THE WEIGHT OF THIS VEHICLE WHEN STOPPING. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT DETECTED THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED AN INACCURATE READING OF THREE QUARTERS OF THE TANK BEING FULL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED REGARDLESS OF THE AMOUNT OF FUEL DISPENSED IN THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THERE WAS NOT A RECALL RELATED DEFECT. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,200.
DT: CALLER SAID THAT 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, WHEN HE HITS THE BRAKES THE CAR SHOOK. THE CALLER HAD THE PROBLEM FIXED, AND 3 MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. HE HAD IT FIXED AGAIN AND 3 MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THE CALLER HAD IT FIXED 3 DIFFERENT TIMES. THE DEALER ROTATED THE ROTORS, AND REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS. THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY WERE STILL LOOKING FOR THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM AND WHAT WENT WRONG. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CALLER TO CONTACT NHTSA. THE CALLER BELIEVED THAT HE WAS COVERED UNDER THE LEMON LAW. THE MANUFACTURER GAVE THE CALLER CASE #4992811. *AK THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE SO BAD THAT IT WAS EASY TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER SUGGESTED THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE FIXED. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED HIS MONEY BACK. THE ROTORS WERE WARPED AND ON ANOTHER REPAIR VISIT THE ROTORS WERE FOUND DISTORTED. *SC
THE VEHICLE'S HOME-LINK SYSTEM FAILED. *NM THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE MEMORY SEATS FOR THE DRIVER DOES NOT WORK. A VIBRATING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE HEAT SHIELD FROM THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. VIBRATING NOISE HEARD FROM THE INTERIOR COURTESY LIGHT LENS. THE LINER ON THE ROOF PASSENGER LINER IS SEPARATING. TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED. ROTORS WARPED ON THE FRONT BRAKES AS A RESULT OF INADEQUATE SIZE TO THE VEHICLE AND INADEQUATE VENTING WHICH RESULTED IN OVERHEATING. THE CONSUMER CAN NOT CONTROL THE VEHICLE WHEN BRAKING FROM HIGH SPEEDS. THE CONSUMER HEARD A BOOMING NOISE FROM THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE RADIO RECEPTION. CRACKS DEVELOPING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT HEAT SHIELD. HEADPHONES FOR THE DVD SYSTEM WHERE NOT PROVIDED. *TC
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TOW A TRAILER THE VEHICLE'S FUEL MILEAGE WAS REDUCED BY 40%. *NM THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED, THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED, AND THE TRUCK SUDDENLY SWAYED AT SPEEDS OVER 60 MPH. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE PROBLEMS HE EXPERIENCED WAS DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING OVER LOADED. HOWEVER THE CONSUMER STATED NEVER DID THE TONGUE OR TOTAL TOW WEIGHT EXCEED THE NISSAN MANUAL RECOMMENDATIONS. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE AN ADEQUATE SUSPENSION TO TOW THE WEIGHTS THE COMPANY REPRESENTS. *JB
2004 NISSAN ARMADA 2X4 LE PREMATURE BRAKE FAILURE. BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS REPLACED AT 24,000 MILES DEALER THREW OUT PARTS BEFORE THEY COULD BE INSPECTED. *NM
DT: CONTACT STATED NISSAN, ARMADA HAD A SERIOUS BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM. ON ONE OCCASION WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE VEHICLE STEERED BY ITSELF TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND THEN CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE NORMAL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE SIX TIMES TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE. ON FOUR OCCASIONS THE BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS WERE CHANGED. THE CONTACT SAID THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO BE DRIVEN AT A RISK OF AN ACCIDENT. *AK
FRONT BRAKES WARPED ROTORS. 3RD TIME SINCE PURCHASED IN MARCH 2004. 1ST REPAIR--TURNED ROTORS AND REPLACED BRAKE PADS. 2ND REPAIR --REPLACED ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. 3RD REPAIR---NOT TAKEN TO DEALER YET.*AK
CAR BEGAN SHAKING WHEN BRAKES APPLIED AT 13,000 MILES. CALLED DEALER TO SEE IF THIS WAS UNCOMMON OR IF OTHER ARMADA DRIVERS WERE COMPLAINING AND TOLD THEY KNEW OF NO PROBLEM. TOOK CAR INTO LOCAL AUTO STORE AND WAS TOLD THE ROTORS WERE BAD AND TO TAKE BACK TO THE DEALER SINCE IT WAS NOT COMMON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN SO EARLY. DEALERSHIP TURNED ROTORS. SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED 3000 MILES LATER AND BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER AND ASKED FOR ROTORS NOT TO BE TURNED, BUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY JUST TURNED THE ROTORS AGAIN. SEEMS THEY ARE JUST PUTTING A BANDAID UNTIL I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PROBLEM MYSELF. I HAVE KIDS AND FEEL VERY UNSAFE. I AM READY TO BRING IT IN AGAIN BECAUSE THE CAR IS SHAKING AGAIN. I HAVE OTHER ISSUES, BUT THEY ARE JUST BOTHERSOME. THIS BRAKE PROBLEM SCARES ME AND IT IS EXPENSIVE TO KEEP FIXING THIS WHEN IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. HELP!!!!
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED. THE OWNER CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO SAID THEY WERE ORDERING THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE DEFECT. HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AS OF TODAY. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
VEHICLE WAS HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME STOPPING WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER TWICE FOR CHECKUP, AND RESULTS SHOWED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.*AK
SHOULDER STRAP TO MIDDLE SEAT DOES NOT UNBUCKLE.*AK THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED THE SEAT BELT WAS TIGHTENING AROUND HER CHILD'S NECK. THE CONSUMER THEN LEARNED THERE WAS NO RELEASE BUTTON. 11/15/05. *JB
THE CONSUMER STATED THE STEERING WHEEL PULSATED WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION. *JB FRONT BRAKES ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES. *EH *JB
THE CONSUMER NOTICED WHILE DRIVING THE WARNING LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES, BUT THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE CONSUMER DROVE TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE PROBLEM INSPECTED. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE BRAKE PADS WERE TO SMALL FOR THE VEHICLE AND THAT CAUSED LOST OF BRAKING POWER. THE BRAKE PADS AND THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE FILL IN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.*JB
WITH LIMITED DOOR OPENING, THE CONSUMER WHILE ENTERING THE VEHICLE HIS LEFT LEG TOUCHED THE SEAT CONTROL MAKING THE SEAT BACK AND THE SEATING PUSH HIM INTO THE STEERING COLUMN CRUSHING HIS CHEST. THE CONSUMER HAD TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE TO OPEN THE DOOR FULLY TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER FEELS THAT IF THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN RUNNING HE WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.
BAD RADIO RECEPTION. TREBLE FADES IN AND OUT. BULLETIN RELEASED FROM NISSAN REGARDING PROBLEM. HAD NEW AUDIO UNIT INSTALLED. PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES. *AK
ROTORS WERE DETERMINED TO BE WARPED AT 2300 MILES(AUG). THEY WERE RESURFACED AND NEW PADS, AND CALIPERS WERE INSTALLED. NOW AT 4600 MILES (OCT) STEERING WHEEL & VEHICLE STARTING TO VIBRATE WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. USUALLY OCCURS WHEN COMING TO A STOP FROM FREEWAY SPEEDS. CONTACED DEALER WHO INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A NEW "KIT" TO FIX THE ROTORS. ANOTHER BANDAID???? THESE BRAKES ARE NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR THIS VEHICLE. UNTIL NISSAN REPLACES THE ROTORS WITH LARGER ONES, CAPABLE OF STOPPING THE VEHICLE PROPERLY, THIS PROBLEM IS GOING TO CONTINUE. *AK
I WAS DRIVING ON WEDNESDAY THE 19, 2009. MY TRUCK STALLED ON A MAJOR ROAD. I WAS ALMOST REARENDED WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. COULD NOT PULL CAR OFF TO SIDE. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. FOUND OUT THAT MY IPDM HAD GONE OUT AND FLOODED MY ENGINE WITH GAS. TALKED TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP THEY ARE BACK-ORDERED 250 UNITS OF THESE IPDM'S. SAID THEY HAVE 10-15 TRUCKS IN EACH WEEK. LOOKED AT INTERNET IT IS FLOODED WITH CASES JUST LIKE MINE. VERY SCARY MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE CAR. IT WAS A EASY FIX ONCE WE GOT NEW PART. SOMETHING NEED TO BE DONE NOT SAFE. *TR

WHEN BRAKING AT ANY SPEED STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED, AND THE BRAKES MADE A SQUEAKING NOISE. THIS CAUSED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
I PURCHASED MY NISSAN ARMADA IN DEC. 2003. ON 10/8/04, MY WIFE TOLD ME THE VDC OFF LIGHT, THE SLIP LIGHT AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WERE ILLUMINATED. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALER AND HE HAD ME BRING IT RIGHT IN. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME ON THE SPOT HE THOUGHT IT WAS THE BRAKES. HE WAS CORRECT. HE MUST HAVE HAD EXPERIENCE WITH ARMADA BRAKE PROBLEMS TO KNOW RIGHT AWAY. THE VEHICLE HAD 17000 MILES ON IT AND IT NEEDED A WHOLE FRONT AXLE BRAKE JOB. THE PRICE TAG WAS $206.00 AND THE VEHICLE WAS LAID UP FOR OVER A DAY. I WAS VERY UPSET SO I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP ACTUALLY TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AND THAT I SHOULD UNDERSTAND IT IS A HEAVY VEHICLE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FOR MY WIFE AS A PLEASURE VEHICLE, BUT I ALSO WANTED A VEHICLE THAT COULD TOW A BOAT IN THE FUTURE. THE ARMADA IS RATED AT 9100 POUNDS TOWING CAPACITY. I HAVE NEVER TOWED ANYTHING WITH THIS VEHICLE. IMAGINE HOW SOON THE BRAKES WOULD HAVE FAILED IF I USED IT TO TOW ON A REGULAR BASIS. ALSO, REFERRING BACK TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP, THE VEHICLE MAY BE HEAVY BUT IT ALSO NEEDS TO STOP THE WEIGHT OF THE CARGO IT IS TOWING. I WOULD HOPE THE ENGINEERS THAT DESIGNED THIS VEHICLE TOOK THAT INTO CONSIDERATION AND INSTALLED HEAVY DUTY BRAKES. THIS VEHICLE OBVIOUSLY HAS BRAKES INSTALLED THAT ARE NOT HEAVY DUTY ENOUGH. I BOUGHT A NISSAN ALTIMA IN 1995 AND I STILL OWN IT. THERE WAS NO QUESTION WHEN NISSAN CAME OUT WITH THE ARMADA, THAT WE WOULD CONSIDER IT FIRST FOR A LUXURY SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE. WELL, MY LOVE AFFAIR WITH NISSAN HAS COME TO AN ABRUPT HALT AND NOW I WISH I HAD TAKEN MY $40,000 TO TOYOTA. *NM
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. STEERING WHEEL STARTED VIBRATING UNCONTROLLABLY. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
