I'VE CALLED STERLING MCCALL NISSAN OF HOUSTON IN FORT BEND COUNTY (281)243-8989. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR TWO WEEKS FOR THE RECALL PARTS TO COME IN. WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG FOR PARTS TO COME IN. "TAKATA RECALL" I EXPERIENCE SURPRISE EXCELLERATION THREE TIMES, ONCE RESULTING IN A MINOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH MINOR BODY DAMAGE. ALL THREE OCCURRED ON A CITY STREET WHILE IN STARTING MOTION GOING STRAIGHT AHEAD.
READING THE COMPLAINTS AND FOUND OTHERS THE SAME AS MINE. HAVE TAKEN THE NISSAN TO THE DEALER AT LEAST THREE, MAYBE FOUR TIMES, COMPLAINING OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGING WHILE DRIVING WHEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN ENTERING A FREEWAY (HIGHWAY) AND DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. WHILE I APPRECIATE THAT OTHERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT IS NOT A FLUKE, IT IS DISCONCERTING AND DANGEROUS. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS 7/23/16!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING LESS THAN 15 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE HAD A DELAY WHEN STOPPING. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED, THE BRAKING PERFORMANCE WOULD RETURN TO NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DELTA STROKE SENSOR FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 171,000.
I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPLAINING. I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND OUT OF NO WHERE THE DASH BRAKE LIGHT WILL TURN ON. WHEN I PROCEED TO STOP THE CAR THE BRAKE WILL PUSH DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND IT WILL GRIND AND ALMOST SOUND LIKE A SPRING. I PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN IT GOES AWAY. IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THERE IS NO WARNING AS TO WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THERE WAS AN EXHAUST ODOR IN THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. SEVERAL YEARS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, BOTH EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WERE REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. WHILE I AM DRIVING MY EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT TURNS ON AND MY BRAKES LOCKED AND IT'S REALLY HARD FOR ME TO BREAK THE BRAKE PEDAL ALSO SHAKES ALMOST LEADING INTO AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD FRACTURED AND CAUSED THE AIR FUEL SENSOR TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN LIMP MODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,227.
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE IS INACCURATELY DISPLAYING THAT THE VEHICLE STILL HAS SOME FUEL, BETWEEN HALF AND ONE QUARTER TANK, WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY. THIS HAS CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO RUN OUT OF GAS AND STALL ON THE HIGHWAY, CAUSING A DANGEROUS SAFETY SITUATION. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AND NEEDS TO REPLACE THE FUEL SENDER UNIT INSIDE THE FUEL TANK TOGETHER WITH THE O-RING.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS FLASHING SO I TOOK MY 2005 ARMADA TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT THE REASON. THE DEALER IS CHARGING ME ABOUT $500.00 TO REPLACE THE HARNESS. THEY SAID THE AIR BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY IF I AM INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, I'VE HAD TWO INSTANCES WHERE MY BRAKES GOT JAMMED AND MADE A LOUD NOISE WHEN I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN.
ON MARCH 18, 2016, MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING OUR 2005 NISSAN ARMADA AT APPROX 60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. ALL OF A SUDDEN WITHOUT WARNING VEHICLE LOST POWER, LUCKILY MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO STEER AND COAST VEHICLE TO THE SIDE.THIS COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGEDY.GAS TANK NEEDLE INDICATED THAT VEHICLE HAD A QUARTER TANK OF GAS IN IT. NO LOW GAS LIGHT INDICATOR WAS ON OR EVER CAME ON!! OUR TEENAGE SON HAD BEEN DRIVING IT FOR OVER A WEEK. WHAT IF HE WAS DRIVING THIS WHEN THIS OCCURRED, HE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR KILLED SOMEONE ELSE!!!! VEHICLE WAS AT 87,632 MILES WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I CAME TO THIS WEBSITE AND OBSERVED WHERE OTHER DRIVERS HAD THE SAME INCIDENT HAPPEN.ALSO OBSERVED WHERE NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS FLAW IN THE ARMADA. I ADVISED MY HUSBAND ABOUT THIS AFTER HE HAD ALREADY CALLED A TOW TRUCK. ONCE HE PUT GAS IN IT, IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN REALLY BAD, BUT IT WAS ONLY THE GRACE OF GOD THAT SAVED MY HUSBAND SURELY NOT NISSAN!! USUALLY KEEP A 1/2 OF TANK OF GAS OR MORE, BUT TEENAGE SON HAD BEEN DRIVING IT FOR THE LAST WEEK. WHAT IF MY TEENAGER WAS DRIVING IT WHEN IT SHUT DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY?? THIS PROBABLY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THE SAME OUTCOME.NO LOW GAS LIGHT INDICATOR CAME ON TO WARN MY HUSBAND THAT GAS WAS LOW. MY HUSBAND, SON OR SOMEONE ELSE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!! I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA THAT HAVE A SERIOUS BRAKING ISSUES THAT NEEDS TO BED LOOKED INTO IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME BUT WHEN IT DOES THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND MAKE A GRINDING NOISE I SPOKE WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS THEY WANT ME TO TAKE IT TO NISSAN AND HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC DONE, WHICH WILL CALL ME 99.00 THAT IS NONE REIMBURSABLE APPARENTLY THERE WAS A LAWSUIT FOR THIS ISSUE IN CALIFORNIA THAT WAS SETTLE BY NISSAN IN MY RESEARCH I FOUND OTHER NISSAN OWNER WHO ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THERE VEHICLES FROM THE YEAR 2004 - PRESENT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS DETECTED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, WAITED A FEW MINUTES, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR WAS NO LONGER ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT RESUMED DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DREXEL NISSAN (5018 TOWNSHIP LINE RD, PHILADELPHIA, PA 19026, PHONE NUMBER: (610) 449-2800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE THAT I HAD JUST PURCHASED OFF THE PARKING LOT OF THE DEALER WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS ON THE DASHBOARD I PROCEEDED TO STOP AND WHEN I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL THE VEHICLE DELAYED TO COME TO A FULL STOP. I ALSO HEARD A WEIRD NOISE SOUNDED LIKE A GRINDING NOISE AND SPRINGS COMING FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL.
I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES STARTING IN 13' WITH THE ECM BEING REPLACED AFTER 05' ARMADA STALLED ON HIGHWAY TRAVELING 70 MILES/HOUR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. RECENTLY IN EARLY 15' I RAN OUT OF GAS WHEN FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED A QUARTER TANK OF GAS AT A RED LIGHT. ALSO IN EARLY 15' MY A/C WILL ONLY WORK WHEN ON HIGH. BOTH OF THESE ISSUES ARE KNOWN & ARE LISTED AS RECALLS THAT I WILL BE MAKING A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WITH MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER TO RESEARCH, CORRECT & FIX. THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS OF SIMILAR & EXACT KNOWN ISSUES ONLINE. MOST RECENTLY IN NOVEMBER 15' I WAS PICKING MY CHILDREN UP FROM SCHOOL IN THE RAIN. I WAS TRAVELING HOME WHEN I HAD TO APPLY MY BREAKS, BUT THEY DID NOT PERFORM AS THEY SHOULD. THE BREAKS MADE A SPRING SOUND, THE BRAKE PEDDLE HAD LITTLE TO NO RESISTANCE WHEN I APPLIED MY FOOT TO STOP & THE BREAK LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD TO VEER OFF THE ROAD & RAN INTO A FENCE POST VERY LIGHTLY WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE TO MY FRONT CHROME BUMPER. I TURNED CAR OFF & IMMEDIATELY CHECKED ON MY TWO CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. WE WERE ALL OK, THANK GOD. I STARTED ARMADA TO FIND THAT THE BREAK LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ON. I HESITATED TO DRIVE DUE TO WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED. I WAS ONLY 3 MILES FROM HOME SO I SLOWLY ATTEMPTED TO CONTINUE HOME. THE ARMADA DROVE PERFECT & THE BREAKS FUNCTIONED AS THEY SHOULD WITH NO ISSUES. I GOOGLED INCIDENT TO FIND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS & REPORTS WITH SIMILAR TO IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS/KNOW ISSUE REPORTED & FILED. I WAS BLESSED THAT MY FAMILY WAS OK & I WAS ABLE TO AVOID A SERIOUS POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING ACCIDENT WITH LOSS OF BREAKS ONE TIME FOR NO REASON. THIS WAS THE 1ST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND HAS NOT HAPPENED SINCE. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE AN IMMEDIATE RECALL DUE TO THE SEVERITY OF OUTCOME IT COULD CAUSE WITH TEMPORARY BREAK FAILURE. NO NEED FOR LIFES TO BE LOST OR LAWSUITS TO MAKE IT RIGHT AND CORRECT/FIX ISSUE AT NO COST.
THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG IS NOT WORKING DUE TO A FAULTY HARNESS ASSEMBLY. THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT MEASURE FUEL ACCURATELY. THE ABS BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE BRAKES STOP WORKING WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX THE ISSUES WITHOUT US PAYING OVER 3 GRAND EVEN THOUGH THESE ITEMS WERE RECALLED ON OTHER NISSANS BUT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR NISSAN. THIS NISSAN NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO THE RECALLS. WE BOUGHT THE CAR 5 MONTHS AGO FROM GO AUTOMOTIVE AND THEY ALSO REFUSED TO FIX THE ISSUES.

BREAK SYSTEM FAILURE HAS HAPPENED TO ME MORE THAN ONCE. FOR SOME REASON IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY'RE ARE ROCKS IN BETWEEN MY BRAKES AND THE ROTORS. I HAVE TO RESET THE SYSTEM BY SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AND TURNING IT BACK ON. I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT ON THE FREEWAY BECAUSE OF IT AND NO INDICATION OTHER THAN THE NOISE THAT IT WAS HAPPENING. ALSO, WHEN A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT THE AIRBAG LIGHT DOES NOT TURN OFF. I AND HASN'T FOR OVER 5 YEARS. THE DRIVER SIDE AND/OR PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELTS ALSO DO NOT GET RECOGNIZED AS BEING USED SINCE THE FLASH INDICATOR ON THE DASH KEEPS FLASHING. WHEN I TOOK T IN TO THE DEALER THEY SAID THERE ARE NO RECALLS BUT IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 110000 MILES ON IT AND HAD LESS THAN 80000 WHEN THESE ISSUES STARTED. I JUST WANT MY VEHICLE TO BE SAFE AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS THE SAME ONE. BRAKE SYSTEM, DEALER CAN'T DIAGNOSE UNLESS I DRIVE IN THERE WITH THE PROBLEM WHICH ISN'T SAFE AND HAPPENS OCCASIONALLY. I MAY HAVE VIDEO OF THE NOISE FROM THE BRAKE SYSTEM WHICH I WILL LOOK FOR.
SUV RAN OUT OF GAS AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN CENTER LANE DURING HEAVY TRAFFIC ON WIFE AND KIDS, GAUGE READ 1/4 OF TANK. STEPPED ON BRAKE DIDN'T WORK HAD A LOAD NOISE, VDC LIGHT, BRAKE LIGHT ON DASH. UNDERSTAND NOW THAT ABS SYSTEM FAILED AND FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILED. NISSAN HAS TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE A RECALL ON THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ON THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL BUT NOT MINE? THEY HAVE TRIED REALLY HARD TO KILL MY FAMILY WITH THIS FAULTY EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT.

WHILE I WAS DRIVING BRAKES DONOT WORK I ALMOST CRASH , TO TRAUMATIC.
I NOW HAVE $450.00 AUTO REPAIR BILL BECAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG THAT WILL NOT INFLATE IF I WERE TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I ALSO OWN A 2003 NISSAN PATHFINDER THAT HAD A RECALL ISSUED FOR AN AIRBAG PROBLEM. VERY DISAPPOINTED THE ARMADA WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL
I WAS DRIVING AND MY VEHICLE CUT OFF. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT IT DID NOT START. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY SUGGESTED THAT I REPLACE THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR. I AGREED TO THIS SERVICE AS WELL AS PURCHASED A BATTERY AND HAD A SEAL REPLACED. THE VEHICLE DROVE WELL FOR ABOUT A WEEK. APPROXIMATELY A WEEK LATER IT CUT OFF AGAIN. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY COMPLETED AN IDLE RELEARN ON THE TRUCK. IT WAS FINE FOR ABOUT A MONTH, BUT HAS RESUMED CUTTING OFF WHICH HAS RESULTED IN IT STALLING IN TRAFFIC AND LEAVING MY FAMILY STRANDED WHILE WE ATTEMPT TO TROUBLESHOOT. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AGAIN ON 7/18 DUE TO IT BREAKING DOWN. WHEN IT ARRIVED AT THE SHOP IT DID NOT TURN ON INITIALLY, BUT THEY WERE ABLE TO START IT. IT WAS THERE UNTIL 7/21 DURING WHICH TIME I AGREED TO HAVE THEIR SHOP FOREMAN DRIVE IT HOME. THEY CLAIM THAT IT NEVER CUT OFF DURING THE TIME THAT THEY HAD IT. THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE A REASON FOR THE ISSUE, STATING THAT THE TRUCK HAS TO BREAK DOWN FOR THEM TO TROUBLESHOOT DUE TO THE COMPUTER NOT RECEIVING A CODE FROM THE VEHICLE. THEY SUGGESTED THAT I LEAVE IT WITH THEM UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN, WHICH WOULD BE FINE IF IT WASN'T MY ONLY SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION. THIS ISSUE IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE VEHICLE COULD CUT OFF AT ANY TIME AND LEAD TO A FATAL VEHICLE ACCIDENT. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT NO SOLUTION CAN BE PROVIDED UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY DISABLED?
I WAS GOING DOWN 4 LANE HWY AND STARTED TO SLOW DOWN APPROACHING INTERSECTION. THE BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY. IT FELT LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS GOING TO SHAKE OFF THE AXEL. I JUST KNEW I WAS GOING TO HIT THE CAR NEXT TO ME. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME 15 MPH BECAUSE EVERY TIME I TOUCHED THE BRAKES THE CAR WOULD VIOLENTLY SHAKE TO THE POINT OF PULLING ME OFF OF THE ROAD. WHEN I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT, IT MUST HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY. IT HAS HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES. I RECENTLY STARTED LOOKING ONLINE FOR ANY INFO ON THE MATTER AND FOUND THAT IT IS HAPPENING PRETTY REGULAR TO PEOPLE WITH THE SAME MODEL AND MAKE AS MINE AND ALSO IN A PRETTY CLOSE TIME FRAME. IT DOESN'T TAKE A GENIUS TO FIGURE OUT THAT THIS IS A DEFECT. A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE FIXED BY NISSAN BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.
FUEL GAUGE READS INACCURATELY, SHOWING A FUEL LEVEL EVEN WHEN EMPTY. A RECALL WAS ISSUED IN 2010 FOR OTHER 2005 ARMADA MODELS. A CALL TO NISSAN (CASE#32522656) SHOWED THAT OVER 340,000 VEHICLES WERE RECALLED BY THE NHTSA (CAMPAIGN #10V074000), BUT MY VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THIS CAMPAIGN. AS NOTED IN THE OTHER RECALL BY THE NHTSA, THIS COULD RESULT IN UNEXPECTEDLY RUNNING OUT OF FUEL, DISABLING THE VEHICLE.
THE BRAKES ONLY BARELY STOPPED THE VEHICLE AFTER DEPRESSING TO PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. NOW SOME WARNING LIGHTS COME ON VDC, SLIP, BRAKE AND WON'T GO OFF. THE BRAKES DON'T SEEM TO BE WORKING PROPERLY AND THE PEDAL WHEN DEPRESSED SLOWLY GOES TO THE FLOOR. I HAVE NEW BRAKES, ROTORS, ETC (10,000 MILES AND THE BRAKE FLUID IS AT THE PROPER LEVEL. I HAVE READ ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM FROM MANY MANY PEOPLE NO THE WEB. THIS IS NOT AM ISOLATED PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE HANDLED BY NISSAN AND PUT INTO A RECALL. AFTER TURNING IT OFF AND LETTING IT SIT FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, I TURNED IT ON AGAIN. THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ON AND THE BRAKES ENGAGED. I TOOK IT TO A BRAKE SHOP ON 3/27/15 AND WAS TOLD THAT MY PADS ARE FINE. THEY ALSO CHECKED THE FLUID AND THE LEVEL WAS OK. I CONTACTED A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE AREN'T ANY RECALLS. THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY REPORTS FROM CONSUMERS ABOUT THIS TYPE OF ISSUE OCCURRING, BUT COULD NOT PROVIDE AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED AND COULD BE RESET BY TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF. AS I WAS ON MY WAY HOME DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY TRUCK CUT OFF, THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN OVER A YEAR, EACH TIME I NOTICED MY FUEL GAUGE WAS READING 1/4 OF A TANK, SO I CHECK FOR RECALLS ON THE 2005 NISSAN ARMADA AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM BUT WHEN I CALLED THE NISSAN CORP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL WAS VIN SPECIFIC AND THERE WAS NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THAT COULD BE, IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THE 2005 ARMADA FOR THE FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM AND MY VEHICLES FUEL SYSTEM IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WHY ISN'T THE RECALL ON ALL NISSAN ARMADAS OF THE SAME YEAR. *TR
AS I PRESSED ON BRAKES TO SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN AT INTERSECTION TWO DAYS AGO, THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN A LOUD METAL GRINDING NOISE CAME FROM THE FRONT! THE TRUCK NOW HAD DIFFICULTY STOPPING; I HAD TO FLOOR IT IN ORDER FOR VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I NEARLY REAR ENDED THE VAN THAT WAS IN FRONT OF ME! I WAS IN THE BACK ROADS SO THERE WERE SEVERAL STOP SIGNS/ INTERSECTIONS ON MY WAY HOME. AS I CONTINUED DRIVING AND BRAKING TO SLOW DOWN/ STOP, THE GRINDING NOISE WAS VERY LOUD AND THE TRUCK RARELY HAD ANY BRAKE POWER! I WAS TERRIFIED AND FINALLY WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH TO PULL OVER ON TO THE SIDE TO BREATHE AND CALM MY NERVES DOWN. I PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND CHECKED TO MAKE SURE I RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL, ETC. I THEN CONTINUED HOME WHERE I TURNED TRUCK OFF AND ASKED NEIGHBOR MECHANIC TO CHECK IT FOR ME. HE TURNED TRUCK BACK ON AND WE DROVE IT TO TEST BRAKES. EVERYTHING WAS NOW WORKING FINE! IT DID NOT SIT RIGHT WITH ME. I RESEARCHED ONLINE LAST NIGHT AND JUST LIKE THE FUEL GAUGE ISSUE THAT HAPPENED A WEEK PRIOR, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AFFECTED BY THIS BRAKE FAILURE! WHEN A REP FROM NISSAN CONSUMER SVCS CALLED EARLIER TODAY TO FOLLOW UP REGARDING MY TRUCK'S FUEL GAUGE ISSUE, I REPORTED THE BRAKE ISSUE. SHE JUST SAID "YES I'M SORRY BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR DEALERSHIP TO VERIFY ISSUE FIRST IN ORDER FOR NISSAN TO TAKE SOME KIND OF ACTION." UNBELIEVABLE. ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE ARE REPORTED INCIDENTS OUT THERE OF THIS DEFECT. UNFORTUNATELY, CONSUMERS ALSO REPORT THAT THIS BRAKE ISSUE HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY SO IT'S HARD TO PROVE/ DIAGNOSE. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ONLINE AND FOUND THERE WERE THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES WITH SAME ISSUE WHICH CAUSED NISSAN TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM- RECALL ID# 68293, CAMPAIGN# 10VO74000. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER SVCS AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SPECIFIC RECALL BUT TO TAKE IT IN TO DEALER TO VERIFY/ CONFIRM ISSUE. I DID SO THE FOLLOWING WEEK AND THE MECHANIC AT OLYMPIA NISSAN GLADLY CONFIRMED ISSUE WITH FUEL SENDING UNIT AND WAS QUOTED $465.00 PLUS TAX TO REPLACE, WHICH NISSAN WOULD NOT COVER. SURPRISINGLY, I RECEIVED A CALL EARLIER TODAY FROM MELODY WITH NISSAN CONSUMER SVCS TO INFORM ME THAT SHE WAS ESCALATING MY ISSUE REGARDING FUEL SYSTEM. I COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT ON THE FREEWAY WITH THE TRUCK LOSING POWER LIKE THAT, ESPECIALLY WHEN GAS GAUGE CLEARLY SHOWS TRUCK STILL HAS GAS! I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET CLOSE TO MY HOME (FORTUNATELY) AND THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. I HIT THE BRAKES TO TEST THEM TO FIND THAT THE BRAKES LOST MOST POWER AND THE VEHICLE VIBRATED HORRIBLY. I FINALLY MANAGED TO GET THE VEHICLE STOPPED. I THEN SHUT IT OFF AND THEN STARTED IT BACK UP, WHICH CLEARED THE ISSUE TEMPORARILY. A FEW DAYS LATER I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER WHO TOLD ME THE VDC NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED AND THAT THIS WAS A KNOW ISSUE BY NISSAN FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALER CHARGED ME TO FIX THIS KNOWN ISSUE, YET LESS THAN 1,000 MILES LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. BACK TO THE DEALER ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT NOW THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDS REPLACEMENT AT A COST OF ANOTHER $1,000 AS PART OF THE SAME KNOWN ISSUE. I CALLED NISSAN, BUT THEY FLATLY REFUSE TO WARRANTY WHAT THEY KNOW IS A DEFECTIVE SYSTEM. THIS VEHICLE HAS ONLY 56,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER.
THE INCIDENT HAPPENED ON NOVEMBER 15, 2014 WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT GOING NORTH BEFORE THE INTERSECTION (OVERPASS) OF CARMENITA STREET, NORWALK, CA AND I-5 FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH. THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE BRAKES LOST POWER ALONG WITH GIVING A SPRING SOUND. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC . NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND AND CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AS STATED AND BECAUSE OF THIS MECHANIC WAS NOT ABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE/PROBLEM. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED BRAKING POWER RETURNS TO NORMAL AND THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES OFF. THIS IS THE FIRST INCIDENT THAT IT HAPPENED BUT I WAS SCARED AND LOST CONFIDENCE IN THE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY ON FREEWAYS WITH MY FAMILY AS PASSENGERS AND PUTTING THEM, MYSELF AS WELL AS OTHER PEOPLE IN DANGER. I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN LOSS OF BRAKING POWER AS I WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION AT ABOUT 30 MPH AND APPLYING MY BRAKES. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SOFT AND UNRESPONSIVE AND THE PEDAL BEGAN TO SHAKE AND THE ABS SYSTEM OR BRAKE BOOSTER COULD BE HEARD MAKING A METALLIC GRINDING NOISE. I LOST ABOUT 80-90% BRAKING ABILITY AND WAS BARELY ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BEFORE IT ENTERED INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION. THIS OCCURRED FOR 1 1/2 MILES UNTIL I GOT HOME. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY, HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THEY SUGGESTED A $900 BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACEMENT WITH NO ASSURANCE THAT IT WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I LOOKED THROUGH THE ORIGINAL SERVICE RECORDS OF THE CAR AND FOUND THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUE ON 3/5/2008 AND A VDC SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED. THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THERE APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN DEFECT IN THE BRAKING SYSTEM THAT IS CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN. *TR

THE BRAKES WERE RELEASED AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WENT OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THEN, NOT ONLY WITH ME BUT ALSO WITH MY WIFE WHO WAS DRIVING WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE TOO. AFTER LOOKING AT THE ONLINE FORUM (CLUB ARMADA) I DETERMINED THAT THE VDC SYSTEM NEEDED REPROGRAMMING (ACCORDING TO ALL OF THE MANY OTHER POSTS ABOUT THE SAME INCIDENT). I'M HERE AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW AND IT SHOULD COST ABOUT $100 TO FIX. WE'LL SEE..... *TR
I GOT THIS VEHICLE AROUND DEC 2013. I HAD THEM FIX THE AIR BAG LIGHT BECAUSE IT IS GOING ON AND OFF. DEALERSHIP IS HUDSON NISSAN. FIXED THE HARNESS. AUGUST 2014, I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM FIXED THRU FREEHOLD NISSAN. NOW, JULY 2015, I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN BUT I AM OUT OF WARRANTY. I ASKED NISSAN CORPORATE TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER AND IF THEY CAN FIX IT FOR ME WITHOUT ANY FEE BECAUSE I FELT THIS IS NOT A MOVING PART AND THE PROBLEM IS PERSISTENT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF THE AIR BAG WILL ENGAGE UPON AN ACCIDENT. NISSAN CORPORATE DECLINED TO FIX IT FOR FREE. IM JUST AFRAID THAT EVEN IF I HAVE IT REPAIRED AND PAY FOR IT, THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN AFTER A WHILE. PLS LOOK INTO IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO INDICATE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS LOW ON FUEL. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE STALLED. WHEN THE FUEL WAS REPLENISHED, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND PERFORMED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I WAS EXITING THE RAMP I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THE BRAKES WERE GRINDING. I HAD TO SWERVE OUT OF THE LANE TO THE SHOULDER BECAUSE I HAD LIL TO NO BRAKE POWER. THIS IS NOT THE 1ST TIME THIS INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED TO ME. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS BUT NISSAN NEEDS TO RESOLVE IT FAST BECAUSE THE NEXT PERSON MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY. MY TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW DO TO THE BRAKE ISSUE AND OF COURSE THEY ARE UNABLE TO DETECT THE PROBLEM. I AM REPLACING THE BRAKES AND ROTORS AND HOPEFULLY THAT WILL HELP ELEVATE THE PROBLEM. SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING AND FAST BEFORE SOMEONE IS FATALLY AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE. MY GAS GAUGE IS NOT READING PROPERLY. MY GAS TANK IS FULL AND GAS GAUGE IS SHOWING ONLY HALF TANK FULL AND AT TIMES VICE VERSA. *TR
BRAKES SUDDENLY QUIT WORKING PROPERLY, VIBRATION, GRINDING, ETC. HAD TO PUMP BRAKES TO STOP. I TURNED IGNITION OFF, SET P-BRAKE, THEN TURNED VEHICLE BACK ON, THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST, I'D SAY 5 OR 6 TIMES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS. MY BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE LAST REPLACED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. *JS
WE BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2010 AND HAD BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH IT. 2-3 TIMES OVER THE FIRST 3 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP THIS HAPPENED, BUT ALWAYS AT VERY SLOW SPEED RIGHT AFTER LEAVING OUR DRIVEWAY. PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED BY TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. THIS ACCIDENT WAS THE FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED SOME DISTANCE FROM HOME. A CAR STOPPED SHORT, CAUSING THE CAR BEHIND TO BRAKE VERY HARD. MY WIFE (WITH OUR 18 MONTH OLD SON IN THE CAR) ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AND COULDN'T, HITTING BOTH CARS. SINCE THE ACCIDENT, THE ISSUE HAS OCCURRED WITH INCREASING FREQUENCY (3X IN THE LAST MONTH ALONE) - OUR ISSUE IS IDENTICAL TO WHAT I'VE NOW FOUND ON NUMEROUS SITES - ABS LIGHT COMES ON, VERY LITTLE BRAKING POWER, GRINDING NOISE, VIBRATION IN THE PEDAL. STOP THE CAR, TURN IT OFF, TURN IT BACK ON, PROBLEM GONE. *TR
