Unknown the light for air bags is on
The brakes light comes on frequently and brakes stop working properly when going over a bump in the road decrease speed then engine fails. Has to be turned off then on to start engine.
I have a 2005 Nissan Armada that has a known problem with its brakes. It has a faulty Delta Brake Sensor and Brake Booster. What happens is that the brake light comeson, the vehicle losses its braking ability and sounds like metal scraping when you apply the brakes. The issue will reset if you turn off the car. Nissan knows about this issue but has failed to send 2004-2006 Armada owners of information on how to get this fixed at a local dealer. I was never notified by Nissan of this faulty part and did not know that Nissan would reimburse me for the repair. The settlement date is now closed but the problem still exists in many Nissan affected vehicles. I called Nissan USA and they said Nissan could do nothing for me. I called my local Nissan dealer and described the problem and they said they could do nothing for me but that I could pay out of pocket to have the brake booster replaced at qa cost of $1500f or parts and labor. The error code associated with this problem is C1179. This issue is a safety issue and it affects the vehicles ability to stop. If you do not see the brake warning light on you do not know that the issue is happening. This could result in a dangerous situation at highway speeds. I would like the NHTSA to get involved and to demand that Nissan repair this known problem free of charge. My breaking system has a malfunction that comes on and off. Sometimes the brakes automatically stop working and start grinding as if I have no brakes, but when I brought it to be looked at they couldn't find the problem. I notice that when you turn the car off and turn it back on the problems of sides for a little while will eventually come back later. For someone to detect it, they cannot shut the car off at the time that is presenting itself.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that the fuel gauge inaccurately displayed the fuel level in the tank while the fuel tank was empty; causing the vehicle to stall. The contact refueled the vehicle and was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V074000 (Fuel System, Other) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 192,000.
I got this vehicle from a buy here pay here with 355,xxx miles the motor runs and drives great but when I went to go down the interstate after a month having the vehicle it was shaking really bad so I called auto parts and autozone and even took it to a mechanic they all told me alignment and if that doesn't work them put new rotors and breaks and we'll it's still there and if you go 35 you can hear something rubbing and when you hit 60 it starts shaking really bad and the steering wheel is very hard to hold when this happens so still don't know what it is!
The contact owned a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, his steering wheel was locked without warning. Due to the failure, the contact veered off the road and hit two parked vehicles. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact stated that a little girl was standing near one of the parked vehicles and was knocked into a tree and was airlifted to a child trauma center. The contact stated that from his knowledge, the girl was only treated for cuts and bruises. The contact stated that he was knocked out for a few minutes after impact but refused medical attention at the scene. He later went to the hospital and was treated for a concussion and whiplash. The contact stated that he believed that a police report was filed but was not certain. The vehicle was towed from the scene to an independent tow yard where it was deemed a total loss. The dealer nor the manufacturer have been notified of the failure. The vehicle had been destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 215,000.

Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with, NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V074000 (Fuel System, Other) however, the Vin was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the Vin was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 172,000.
Engine brake transmission speed failure
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND THE CONTACT FELT THE VEHICLE SLIDE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE MAKING TURNS, THE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND MADE THE STEERING WHEEL DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT STATED THE ABS, THE AIR BAGS, AND THE VDC OFF WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,151.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MUFFLER HAD BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES DUE TO IT CRACKING AROUND THE HEADER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MUFFLER DAMAGED WIRING HARNESS AND THE COMPUTER SYSTEM, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. HUMMEL'S NISSAN (4770 MERLE HAY RD, DES MOINES, IA 50322) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MUFFLER WAS REPLACED TWICE BY THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE MUFFLER FAILURE RECURRED. THE MUFFLER WAS REPLACED A THIRD TIME BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE! THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE CONTROL PANEL COMES ON AND WHEN STEPPING ON THE BRAKES, THE CAR HARDLY BRAKES. IT FEELS LIKE THE BRAKES ARE GRINDING AND SKIDDING. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07E046000 (EQUIPMENT) HOWEVER THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.
THE FUEL GAGE GETS TO ONE QUARTER AND IT STARTS TO BE INACCURATE AND WILL RUN OUT OF GAS SHOWING ONE QUARTER TANK. THE FUEL GAGE WILL NOT WORK RIGHT UNTIL YOU HAVE OVER THREE QUARTERS IN. I GOT SO LOW ON FUEL THE LIGHT WAS ON THREE DAYS AGO. I PUT A FEW GALLONS IN WHEN I GOT TO TOWN IT SHOWER THERE WAS 1/8 OF A TANK BY THE TIME I GOT HOME IT WAS SHOWING A LITTLE OVER 1/4 WERE IT WAS WHEN IT RAN OUT OF GAS 1 1/2 YEARS AGO. THE NEXT MORNING I HAD TO GO TO TOWN AND IT SHOWED I HAD ALMOST HALF A TANK BY THE TIME I GOT THERE. I'VE PUT ABOUT 7 GALLONS IN IT AND THE FUEL GAGE IS AT THE SAME PLACE. WHEN I FILLED THE TANK UP THE FUEL GAGE STARTED WORKING PROBABLY. I'VE LOOKED AND THERE IS A RECALL ON THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ON SOME NISSAN ARMADA ALREADY BUT THIS ONE ISN'T ON THE LIST

FUEL READS AT AROUND 1/4 EVEN WHEN EMPTY. NOT KNOWING IT NEEDED FUEL, THE CAR RAN OUT OF GAS, STRANDING THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. VEHICLE WAS GOING N MOTION AT 35 MPH, VEHICLE WAS GUIDED TO LESS CROWDED SIDE STREET AND STALLED. VEHICLE WAS PUSHED TO AN OPEN SPACE.
DRIVING IN TRAFFIC CAUSES BRAKES TO LOCK AS IF THE PARKING BRAKES WERE SET. I HAVE TO PULL OVER SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK, PRESS ON THE PARKING FOOT BRAKE TO ENGAGE AND DISENGAGE THE BRAKES, TURN OFF AND ON THE VEHICLE TO "RESET" THE BRAKES. IT HAPPENED A FEW TIMES ESPECIALLY ON THE FREEWAY. IN ALL MULTIPLE OCCASIONS NEARLY REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE MY FAMILY WITH ME IN THE VEHICLE. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON, ON THE DASH. HAPPENS ON BOTH THE FREEWAY AND THE CITY STREETS IN MOTION AND ONCE WHEN THE BRAKES WAS PRESS IN TRAFFIC.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND DIDN'T HAVE ANY AND IT MADE A LOUD SOUND I COASTED TO A STOP TURNED CAR OFF. CALLED MECHANIC THEY CAME OUT AND I HAD A BLOWN FUSE FOR MY ABS SYSTEM THEY REPLACED IT BUT NOW I AM WONDERING IF THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN?

For several years now since I received this car from a family member gas gauge has been not working I contacted Nissan they said my year or VIN number was it affected but that's not accurate because it is so what can I do

THE FUEL SHOWS THAT I HAVE A QUARTER OF A TANK OR A BIT MORE LEFT AND THE NUMBER MILEAGE ON THE SCREEN SHOWS THE SAME. MY VEHICLE RANDOMLY STOPS WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. I HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED LAST YEAR FOR THE SAME REASON AND HERE I AM AGAIN. I SEE THERE IS A RECALL AND MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED. I CALLED NISSAN AND THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME TOLD CONTACT NHTSA TO BE MORE EFFECTIVE.....HE ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM WITH THE TRUCKS. I FEEL AS THOUGH IT IS A DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARD. WE WERE LUCKY THIS TIME. MY AIR BAG LIGHT WILL NOT SHUT OFF EITHER AND HE MENTIONED THIS WAS ANOTHER RECALL.. WHY DID THIS VIN MISS THE RECALLS. IT CLEARLY HAS THOSE ISSUES. THE ABS HYDRAULIC BRAKE SENORS HAVE NOW BEEN REPLACED TWICE ON MY ARMADA. THE BRAKES WILL DROP TO THE FLOOR AND MAKE ALL KIND OF NOISES WON'T STOP. THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL FOR ALL OTHER VINS THAN MINE. DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO OTHER THAN START CHANGING OTHER PARTS ON MY DIME. NISSAN OF AMERICA HAS TOLD ME THE SAME THING. STARTED HAVING A ISSUE WITH MY BRAKES ON MY NISSAN ARMADA. WHEN YOU PRESSED ON THE BRAKES, THEY WOULD GO TO THE FLOOR AND WOULD NOT WORK AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD GO ON. AFTER PULLING OVER AND TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF AND THE BRAKES WOULD WORK AGAIN. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT NISSAN KNEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND SETTLED A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT REGARDING IT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS THE DELTA STROKE SENSOR. NISSAN KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM BUT HAS NOT RECALLED THE VEHICLES. IN FACT THIS PROBLEM IS NOT LIMITED TO THE ARMADA. MY FAMILY AND I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE INCLUDING OTHERS THAT WERE ON THE ROAD WHEN THE BRAKES WENT OUT. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY TO WORK WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY STARTED TO STALL (IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY). I RAN OUT OF GAS WITH WHAT MY GAGE SAID WAS A LITTLE OVER A QUARTER OF A TANK LEFT. THERE WAS NO GAS LIGHT ON. ONCE SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO BRING ME GAS, MY CAR STARTED BACK UP. MY GAS GAUGE HAS BEEN STUCK ON 1/4 OF A TANK SINCE THURSDAY I CRUNK UP MY CAR THIS MORNING,IT WAS FINEI WENT BACK IN MY CAR WAS CUT OFF SO MY NEIGHBOR WENT AND GOT A GALLON OF GAS POURED IT IN MY GAS TANK IN MY CAR CRUNK BACK UP. IN MY 2005 NISSAN ARMADA THE FUEL PUMP GAUGE DOES NOT NOTIFIY YOU WHEN THE SUV IS RUNNING OUT OF FUEL AS WELL AS THE GAS LIGHT IT DOES NOT COME ON TO LET YOU KNOW YOU ARE LOW ON GAS.

FUEL GAUGE ON INSTRUMENT PANEL NEVER READS BELOW A QUARTER OF A TANK. HAS CAUSED ME TO RUN OUT OF GAS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS ON HIGHWAY AND BACK ROADS
MY ARMADA RAN OUT OF GAS AFTER HAVING PICKED UP MY DAUGHTER FROM SCHOOL ON A CITY STREET. I BARELY MADE IT ACROSS THE INTERSECTION AND WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH THE STEERING WHEEL STIFFENING UP. I'VE RAN OUT OF GAS THREE TIMES SINCE THEN AND EACH TIME THE GAS TANK SHOWS THERE IS AT LEAST A QUARTER TANK LEFT. THE DEALER DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THIS AS AN ISSUE SINCE MY VIN IS NOT ONE OF "THOSE" AFFECTED. WHAT CAN I DO? THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED IN FEBRUARY WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 96000 MILES ON IT.
FUEL GAUGE SHOWS 1/4 OF A TANK WHEN IT IS EMPTY. RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS MODEL BUT MY VIN DOESN'T SHOW AS ONE OF THE RECALLS. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED MY FAMILY TO STALL TWICE WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET AND HIGHWAY. *TR
NISSAN STATES THERE ARE NO RECALLS OPEN FOR THIS VIN ALTHOUGH NETS STATES THIS MAKE MODEL AND YEAR HAS A RECALL OUT FOR THE THE FUEL GAUGE. MY GAS TANK INCORRECTLY READS THE GAS WHICH CAUSED ME TO STALL ON THE HIGHWAY! I CAN DRIVE AROUND ALL DAY AND WILL STILL SHOW ITS FULL. ENGINE IS ALSO VERY LOUD DURING ACCELERATION AND OVERHEATS THE CAR. PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WILL ALSO NOT TURN OFF, NOT SURE IF THIS IS A RECALL, BUT CAR INDICATES NO PASSENGER IS SITTING WHEN THERE IS AND SHOWS THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY OF A CRASH HAPPENS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT A PIPE BURST. THE PIPE WAS REPLACED. SEVERAL DAYS LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE SERVICE ENGINE AND OTHER WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED BETWEEN 1/4 TO EMPTY. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED ONCE THE CONTACT PLACED FUEL IN THE TANK. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED FOR THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR OR THE FUEL GAUGE MISREADING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000.
REAR PLASTIC FENDER LEFT SIDE HAD COME OFF WHILE DRIVING LEAVING THE REAR SENSOR EXPOSED AND HANGING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED QUARTER OF TANK THEN THE VEHICLE STALLED DUE TO NO FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS REFUELED AND IT STARTED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A FUEL STATION AND THEN HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000. UPDATED 02/22/2017*CT
PURCHASED VEHICLE USED IN MAY 2015, MY TRUSTED MECHANIC CHECKED IT OUT SEPTEMBER 2015 AND REPORTED BACK IT WAS IN GOOD CONDITION WITH NO ISSUES. JULY 2016 EXPERIENCED BREAK FAILURE AT 15 MILES AN HOUR. AGAIN MY MECHANIC TROUBLESHOOTED THE ISSUES AND SAID THE POWER BREAK BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE THEN REFERRED ME TO NISSAN FOR POSSIBLE REPLACEMENT SINCE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I SPOKE WITH CORPORATE NISSAN WHO ADVISED ME TO TAKE IT TO OUR LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO PROVE THE ISSUE EXISTED, FOR ANY POTENTIAL COMPENSATION. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN THEY CONCLUDED REPROGRAMMING THE DELTA STROKE SENSOR WOULD RESOLVE THE PROBLEM; WHICH I HAD TO PAY $300 TO HAVE THIS DONE. ON OCTOBER 2016 INOPERABLE BREAK FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN AT 65 MILES AN HOUR WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE, AS I WAS APPROACHING AN EXIT RAMP. THIS SAME ISSUE OCCURRED TWICE IN ONE DAY, JUST A WEEK LATER. ONCE AS I LEFT WORK GOING 40 MILES AN HOUR, MY DASHBOARD LIT UP WITH VDC AND SKID LIGHTS, IN ADDITION TO MY BREAK FAILURE LIGHT. THE SECOND TIME OCCURRED GOING DOWN A CITY STREET WHERE I HAD TO DO A ROLLING STOP THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, DODGING ONCOMING TRAFFIC, EVENTUALLY HITTING A CURB TO STOP. AFTER TAKING MY VEHICLE BACK TO NISSAN FOR THEM TO TEST DRIVE (RECREATE) THE PROBLEM, I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD NOT DRIVE MY VEHICLE OFF THE LOT DUE TO SAFETY HAZARDS. I HAVE SPENT HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH CORPORATE TO RESOLVE THIS SAFETY ISSUE; BUT YET NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM, OR REFUND ME MY MONEY FOR THE FAILED REPROGRAMMING. THIS VEHICLE IS GEARED TOWARDS FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN; AND BOTH MY CHILDREN WERE PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE DURING ALL FAILURES. AFTER SEARCHING THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION WEBSITE, I HAVE FOUND HUNDREDS OF DOCUMENTED CASES REVOLVING AROUND THE SAME SAFETY HAZARD. NISSAN REFUSES TO RECALL THIS PART OR NOTIFY OWNERS OF THE EXISTING ISSUE.

IF YOU TURN THE VEHICLE OFF IT SEEMS TO RESET ITSELF. WE ALMOST HIT SOMEONE TODAY TRYING TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT ROUGHLY 15-20 MPH WHEN THE ISSUE STARTED (TODAY). WE WERE ON A CITY STREET, BRAKING TO STOP. IT SEEMS TO BE A CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES AND I AM BOGGLED AT THE FACT THAT NO ONE IS REQUIRING NISSAN TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY. EVENTUALLY SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET VERY HURT. HAVING LITTLE TO NO CONTROL OVER YOUR BRAKING IS VERY SCARY, ESPECIALLY WITH MY LITTLE ONE IN THE TRUCK WITH ME . THIS IS A LARGE VEHICLE AND WOULD DO A LOT OF DAMAGE IF IT WERE TO HIT SOMEONE THE NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENS. THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN ONCE EVERY 2-4 WEEKS OR SO. IT APPEARS TO BE RANDOM.
I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPLAINING HERE. I'LL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND OUT OF NO WHERE THE DASH BRAKE LIGHT WILL TURN ON. WHEN I TRY TO BREAK, THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL PUSH DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND IT WILL SOUND LIKE IS GRINDING AND ALMOST SOUND LIKE A SPRING IS LOOSE INTHERE. BUT WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN TURN IT ON, IT GOES AWAY. I HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW AND THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN, I JUST HOPE IT DOESN'T DO IT ON THE FREEWAY..
