I AM YET ANOTHER VICTIM OF THE TRANSMISSION/RADIATOR PROBLEM ALONG WITH HUNDREDS, POSSIBLY THOUSANDS OF OTHER CUSTOMERS. DEFECTIVE RADIATOR ALLOWED COOLANT TO MIX WITH TRANSMISSION WHICH IS NOW OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR. *TR
ON MY WAY TO WORK, 4/13/2014, SUNDAY A.M. SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER (NO FORWARD MOTION) I HAD TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER TO THE SLOW LANE AND STOPPED. THERE WAS NO OTHER OPTION ON ALAMEDA BLVD. ALL LANES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BLVD. HAD TO TOW TO CARSON NISSAN, THEY INSPECTED THE TRANSMISSION AND SAID IT WAS BAD DUE TO THE RADIATOR...... I HAVE NOTICED OTHER COMPLAINTS AND I AM WONDERING IF THIS SITE IS WORTHWHILE I TRULY HOPE SO, PLEASE AND THANK YOU..... *JS
FOLLOW UP TO COMPLAINT 10584635 -- TIMING CHAIN FAILURE RESULTING IN CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. KNOWN ISSUE BY NISSAN, BUT HIDDEN FROM CONSUMER. NISSAN HAS ISSUED SEVERAL SERVICE BULLETINS RELATED TO DEFECTIVE TIMING CHAINS, AND NOTED THAT THESE CAN RESULT IN CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURES, EXACTLY AS OCCURRED. DANGEROUS. NO WARNING AND COMPLETE FAILURE ON A BUSY ROADWAY, WITH LOSS OF THE ABILITY TO MANEUVER AND EXTREMELY HINDERED ABILITY TO GET TO SAFETY IN TIME. HAD I BEEN GOING FASTER THAN 35MPH, OR HAD I BEEN ON A FREEWAY, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY. I DISCOVERED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT REGARDING THIS ISSUE, AND IT APPEARS THIS IS AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. NISSAN SOLD VEHICLES AFTER IT KNEW ABOUT THE TIMING CHAIN DEFECTS (THE BULLETINS WENT OUT IN 2005, AND THIS VEHICLE WAS A 2006). NISSAN DECEPTIVELY KEPT THIS FROM CONSUMERS. TIMING CHAIN DEFECTS OCCUR TYPICALLY AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRATION, AND THEY DO NOT MAKE YOU AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL PRIOR. CONSUMER UNFAIRLY BURDENED WITH FULL LOSS OF ENGINE AND NEARLY THE ENTIRE VALUE OF THEIR VEHICLE. *TR
WHILE RETURNING HOME, THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND POWER STEERING. DIFFICULTY NAVIGATING TO SAFETY ON THE SIDE OF A BUSY ROADWAY. THE ENGINE IN THE VEHICLE HAD COMPLETELY SEIZED. COMPLAINTS TO NISSAN THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN ONGOING. THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM HAD FAILED AT 40K MILES. BOTH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS FAILED AT 55K MILES (THOUGHT TO BE RELATED TO AN ENGINE PROBLEM, BUT THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT EVEN UNDER WARRANTY). AT 63K MILES, THE ENGINE STARTED TO SHOW SIGNS OF PROBLEMS. REPEATED ANALYSIS, FOR WHICH I PAID, RESULTED IN NO CONCLUSION. ONLY THAT "SOMETHING WAS WRONG". TRIED TO ENGAGE NISSAN MULTIPLE TIMES TO FIX THIS. THEY REFUSED. NOW, THE ENGINE HAS FAILED ENTIRELY. NISSAN WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURING. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW AND HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED. THE ENGINE FAILURE AND THE RESULTING LOSS OF THE ABILITY TO MANEUVER OR OPERATE THE VEHICLE WAS, THANKFULLY, ON A ROAD THAT HAD A LOW SPEED LIMIT. SUBSEQUENT RESEARCH RELATED TO THIS ISSUE SHOWS THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION AGAINST NISSAN FOR PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURES IN THESE VEHICLES, AND THAT THEY ALLEGEDLY HID KNOWN ISSUES AND WERE DECEPTIVE TO CONSUMERS. *TR
PASSENGER SEAT BELT LIGHT FLASHES ON, DEALER SAYS CONNECTED TO COMPUTER UNDER PASSENGER SEAT (RESET SEVERAL TIMES), LIGHT STILL FLASHES, DEALERSHIP SERVICE SAYS PROBLEM WITH SEAT SENSOR AND NOT SURE IF AIR BAG ON PASSENGER SIDE WILL WORK OR DEFECTIVE (WANT $800 TO $3,000 TO DIAGNOSE-FIX-REPLACE), NISSAN CORPORATE REFUSES TO FIX (SAYS OUT OF WARRANTY), TECHNICIAN UNABLE TO SAY IF AIR BAG WILL DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT, SERVICE MANAGER I DEAL WITH TOLD ME SHE HAD SEEN AT LEAST 10 SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH SIMILAR VEHICLES (X 8 SERVICE WRITERS MEANS AT THAT DEALERSHIP ALONE THEY HAVE HAD AT LEAST 80 COMPLAINTS IN A MONTH OF THE SAME NATURE X ALL DEALERSHIPS??), NISSAN CORPORATE SENT ME A $250 GIFT CARD FOR OTHER SERVICES AT THE DEALERSHIP BUT REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR ADDRESS OR ATTEMPT TO FIX A PROBLEM THEY ADMIT THEY KNOW THEY HAVE (AND I AM ONLY REFERRING TO NISSAN FRONTIERS - NOT ALL OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES). MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAG OR A PROBLEM WITH THE COMPUTER OR A PROBLEM WITH THE SEAT SENSOR OR AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE.
I BOUGHT MY 2006 NISSAN FRONTIER IN FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE, DURING THE DEALER INSPECTION THEY NOTICED A NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE NOISE IS A WHINING SOUND AND I THOUGHT NOTHING OF THE NOISE UNTIL THEY STATED THAT ITS THE TIMING CHAIN AND THAT IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. FROM THE RESEARCH I DID THE TIMING CHAIN IS SUPPOSED TO BE A NON-SERVICEABLE ITEM AND SHOULD LAST THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I FOUND THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN DEFECT THAT NISSAN MOTOR CORP IS AWARE OF. NISSAN MOTOR CORP HAD ISSUED TSB'S FOR THIS ITEM AND THEY HAVE EVEN BEEN PART OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. WHY WERE NISSAN OWNERS NOT MADE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE? NOW I AM FACED WITH A $1,500 REPAIR DECISION. FROM WHAT I HAVE ALSO READ IF THIS CHAIN BREAKS IT CAN HAVE SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES FOR THE DRIVER, WHY HAS NISSAN NOT SET UP A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. *TR
WE BOUGHT THIS NISSAN NEW IN 2006 -GREAT LITTLE TRUCK. BUT RECENTLY THE ENGINE WOULD STALL AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON. TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC HE SAID IT WAS A TRAN CODE TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE COOLANT HAD GOTTEN INTO THE TRANS OR VISE VERSA (A LOT TO TAKE IN),SO I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR. I FOUND THIS ISSUE ON YOUR WEBSITE FOR A RECALL BUT MY VEHICLE WAS WITHIN THE YEARS OF THE RECALL BUT IT HAS OVER 100,000 IT HAS130 SO THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO HELP WITH THE $5500 BILL THEY JUST QUOTED ME. IS THERE ANY HELP OUT THERE FOR ME ON THIS ISSUE??? PLEASE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE AIR BAG SENSOR AND THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY ALTHOUGH THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED THAT IT WAS 3/4 FULL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
I CALLED NISSAN IN REGARDS TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V075000. THEY CLAIM THAT IT DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VIN [XXX]. MY VEHICLE HAS ROUGHLY 52,000 MILES ON IT AND IS EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. THEY WANT ME TO TAKE IT TO NISSAN FOR A DIAGNOSIS THAT WILL COST ME ~$150. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON AND REFERS TO THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. I WAS DRIVING AT POSTED SPEED WHEN MY VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS. THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED THAT I HAD 1/2 TANK, NEARLY CAUSING A CRASH. I AM A FORMER MEMPHIS POLICE OFFICER WITH EXTENSIVE DEFENSIVE DRIVING. MY TRUCK IS NOT UNDER THE RECALL. BUT, IT IS IN THE DATE RANGE. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT ALSO ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION COOLANT PROBLEM ALSO! CROSS CONTAMINATION OF THE ENGINE COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID CAUSING A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. *TR
RADIATOR COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION, DESTROYING THE TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, COSTING OVER $4500. *TR
I HAD JUST PARKED MY TRUCK IN MY DRIVEWAY(TRUCK WAS OFF,KEY WAS REMOVED) WHEN I REMOVED TWO BAGS FROM THE BACK SEAT AREA(THE SEAT WAS WHERE IT ALL WAYS IS) I WALKED IN THE KITCHEN AREA PUT THE BAGS ON THE TABLE,AS I WAS WALKING BACK TO MY TRUCK I SEEN THE TRUCK ROLL BACK ABOUT A FOOT OR 2 THEN STOP.THERE WASN'T ANY SNOW OR ICE ON MY DRIVEWAY,NO BLACK ICE EITHER THE TEMP AROUND 45,SUN SHINING. SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON AND FUEL GAUGE WENT TO EMPTY. DISTANCE TO EMPTY WAS ERRATIC, HOWEVER SLOWLY RECOVERED. FILLED VEHICLE WITH GAS EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ONLY ON 1/4 TANK. SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CONTINUES TO STAY ON AND FUEL GAUGE REMAINS ON EMPTY. I HAVE SEEN MANY POSTS ONLINE WITH PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. THIS IS AN ISSUE NISSAN SHOULD REMEDY DUE TO SO MANY HAVING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
MY NISSAN FRONTIER BEGAN MAKING A SLIGHT ENGINE NOISE AT ABOUT 30,000 MILES ( I AM HEARING IMPAIRED). THE NOISE BECAME MORE NOTICEABLE WHEN ACCELERATING. AT ABOUT 39,000 MILES SOMEONE ELSE HEARD THE NOISE AND TOLD ME MY TIMING CHAINS WERE ABOUT TO BREAK DUE TO A COMMON NISSAN DEFECT AND NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR AS THE ENGINE COULD LOCK UP WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY WARNING. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN BY NISSAN IN 2007 AND 2009 (NTB09-128) I WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE DANGER OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. I FEEL THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONING SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE ON THESE VEHICLES AND IS DANGEROUS TO THE PUBLIC. IF THE SYSTEM FAILS THE DRIVER WOULD BE UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OR MAINTAIN THEIR SPEED AND EXPOSE THEM TO THE RISK OF BEING REAR ENDED IF THEIR VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLS. I WOULD NOT HAVE EXPECTED AN ENGINE WITH ONLY 30,000 MILES TO FAIL. HAD THEY NOTIFIED ME IN 2007 OR 2009 OF THE PROBLEM I COULD HAVE HAD IT REPAIRED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THIS COMMON AND DANGEROUS DEFECT REPAIRED. *TR

I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN FRONTIER WITH CROSS CONTAMINATION OF RADIATOR FLUID AND TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE DEALER STATES THE KNOWN DEFECT IS BEYOND THE 100,000 MILE CUTOFF FOR THE EXTEND MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY THAT DEALS WITH THIS COMMON AND WELL KNOWN DEFECT. THE ESTIMATED COST OF REPAIR IS 4800.00 WITH THE FULL BURDEN RESTING ON ME FOR A COMMON AND WELL KNOWN MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED HAD NISSAN RECALLED THE VEHICLES AND MADE THE REPAIRS AS SOON AS THEY WERE AWARE. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BUT AGAIN MY VEHICLE IS OUTSIDE OF THE PARAMETERS OF THE LAWSUIT. I DON'T QUITE KNOW WHAT TO DO AS I LIKE MOST EVERYONE DON'T HAVE $5000.00 SITTING AROUND AND UNFORTUNATELY MY CREDIT IS IN HORRIBLE SHAPE SO I CAN'T GET A LOAN TO PAY FOR IT NOR CAN I QUALIFY FOR A LOAN TO TRADE IT IN. HOW IN THE WORLD CAN I EVER JUSTIFY BUYING ANOTHER NISSAN PRODUCT KNOWING THEY DON'T PRODUCE A SAFE, QUALITY PRODUCT AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO FIX DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT. *TR

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WAS DRIVING FINE UP TO THE POINT WHERE WE SEEMED TO HAVE LOST ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. WHEN WE PRESSED THE GAS, IT APPEARED TO BE IN NEUTRAL, ALTHOUGH IT WASN'T. THIS HAPPENED AS WE DROVE DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. WE ENDED UP COASTING TO THE SIDE AND PUT THE TRUCK INTO PARK, THEN REENGAGED THE GEAR SHIFT INTO DRIVE, IT THEN TOOK OFF AND WE SLOWLY DROVE TO A PARKING LOT BEFORE IT FAILED AGAIN. NO WARNING SIGNS ON THE DASH INDICATED A PROBLEM (STILL NO INDICATION) OR ANY SIGN OF TROUBLE BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION JUST FAILS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR AND STYLE OF TRUCK AND NO ONE MADE US AWARE. WE HAVE HAD THIS TRUCK SINCE WE BOUGHT IT NEW, NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION OF THE KNOWN DEFECT FROM NISSAN. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW THE RADIATOR LEAKS INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND CAUSES TRANSMISSION FAILURE. WE WOULD HAVE HAD THIS REPLACED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. *TR
FUEL GAUGE IS NO LONGER ACCURATE. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID # 10V075000 WAS ISSUED FOR 2006 NISSAN FRONTIERS. I CALLED NISSAN BUT THEY SAID MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. APPARENTLY THEY THINK IT'S JUST A COINCIDENCE THAT I'M HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2006 NISSAN FRONTIER. "NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 AND MODEL YEAR 2008 FRONTIER, XTERRA AND PATHFINDER VEHICLES. THE MOLDED FUEL TANK SHELLS CAN DEFORM, CAUSING THE FUEL SENDER FLOAT ARM TO CONTACT AN EMBOSSMENT MOLDED INTO THE TANK SHELL CAUSING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE TO SHOW THAT THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY ONE QUARTER TANK WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY. FUEL GAUGE READS JUST UNDER A QUARTER TANK AT ALL TIMES, NO MATTER IF THE TANK IS EMPTY OR FULL. *TR
NISSAN HAS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH FAULTY FUEL SENSOR SENDING UNIT ON FRONTIER AND XTERRA TRUCKS. THIS CAUSES THE GAS GAUGE TO STOP WORKING AND RECORD INACCURATE FUEL LEVEL. THE FUEL GAUGE WILL SHOW EMPTY WHEN TANK IS FULL. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS VEHICLE OWNER DOES NOT KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE TANK AND COULD RUN OUT OF GAS ON AN INTERSTATE/HIGHWAY OR MOVING THROUGH INTERSECTION, GOING ONTO HIGHWAY EXCHANGES ETC. THIS PUTS DRIVER AND OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD AT RISK. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THIS PART EVEN THOUGH IT IS DEFECTIVE. I EVEN WENT AS FAR TO ASK THEM IF I PAID FOR THE PART (~$100) WOULD THEY COVER THE LABOR (THE FUEL TANK NEEDS TO BE DROPPED TO CHANGE THE DEFECTIVE SENSOR). THEY SAID NO. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE BEFORE STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE COOLING UNIT INSIDE HAD RUPTURED. THE FAILURE CAUSED COOLANT TO LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND TRANSMISSION FLUID TO LEAK INTO THE RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.

TO PROVE THE ISSUE IS LARGER THAN NISSAN ADMITS, CHOOSE TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOPS IN ANY AREA, MAKE A PHONE CALL AND TELL THEM YOU OWN A NISSAN FRONTIER, YOU WILL NEED SAY NO MORE, THE SHOP MANAGER WILL WITHOUT PROMPT SAY "YOU HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES DUE TO THE RADIATOR CONTAMINATING THE TRANSMISSION, YOU WILL HAVE TO REBUILD/REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION." IT IS UP TO THE NHTSA TO PROTECT THE CONSUMER FROM FRAUDULENT COMPANIES SUCH AS NISSAN. A RECALL IS THE ONLY COURSE OF ACTION...MOST CONSUMERS CANNOT AFFORD THE COST OF A TRANSMISSION (UPWARDS OR 7000 DOLLARS) AND WILL DRIVE THEIR NISSAN REGARDLESS OF THE DANGER THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE CAUSES. THE TRUCK WOULD GET A SHUDDER/VIBRATION THAT SHOOK THE WHOLE TRUCK AT AROUND 45 AND 60 MILES PER HOUR AND WOULD NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. I WAS LIVID TO LEARN THAT NISSAN KNEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE 2007 BUT DID NOT TELL ME ABOUT THE DEFECT WHEN I TOOK THE TRUCK FOR MAINTENANCE (A TRANSMISSION FLUID EXCHANGE) IN 2010 WHEN I HAD 68,000 MILES ON THE TRUCK. I WAS ROBBER OF THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE ACTION EVEN AT MY OWN COST THAT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. NISSAN REFUSES TO PAY ANYTHING TOWARDS THE COST CITING THE SETTLEMENT IN THE CLASS ACTION. I WAS TOLD THE TERMS OF THE SETTLEMENT WOULD NOT ALLOW NISSAN TO COVER ANYTHING AFTER 100,000 MILES. I REFUSED TO ALLOW THE DEALER TO FIX IT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT GIVE ME A WARNING WHEN I WAS HAVING THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE DONE ON THE TRANI AND BECAUSE NISSAN WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER PENNY FROM ME. THE SERVICE TECH AT THE NISSAN DEALER TOLD ME NOT TO BUY AN AFTER MARKET RADIATOR BECAUSE IT WOULD BE BASED ON THE OLD RADIATOR DESIGN SO I COULD HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM OF CROSS CONTAMINATION AGAIN. HE SAID NISSAN HAD A NEW RADIATOR. CLEARLY SOUNDS LIKE A MANUFACTURER DESIGN DEFECT. ALSO, I READ THAT IT IS FOR 2005-2010 NISSANS BUT I SPOKE WITH THE OWNER OF A 2011 NISSAN FRONTIER WHO TOLD ME HE HAD THE CROSS CONTAMINATION BUT BECAUSE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY, NISSAN HAD TO PAY TO FIX EVERYTHING. BEGAN A SEARCH ON LINE AND FOUND AN ARTICLE ON THE FRONTIER'S ANTI-FREEZE MIXING WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND COOLANT ENTERING THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING FAILURE. I CHECKED THE OVERFLOW TANK AND IT HAD TRANS FLUID ON TOP OF THE COOLANT AND THE RADIATOR HAD A RED FOAM COMING OUT. TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND IT WAS CONFIRMED. *TR
I HAD DRIVEN APROX 20 MILES ON INTERSTATE WHEN I NOTICED WHEN TRUCK SHIFTED BETWEEN 4TH AND OVERDRIVE THE MOTOR WAS RACING. I TURNED OFF CRUISE CONTROL AND TURNED OF THE OVERDRIVE WITH THE TRAILER SWITCH. I STOPPED AT STATION CHECKED FLUIDS BUT EVERYTHING SEEMED OK. WHEN LEAVING STATION THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING WHEN SHIFTING. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME. NEXT DAY TRANSMISSION SHOP TOLD ME TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REBUILT. AFTER GOOGLE INFO I TOLD SHOP TO ALSO REPLACE RADIATOR ALSO. I GOT THE TRUCK BACK 2 WEEKS LATER. AFTER 5 DAYS OF DRIVING WHILE TRAVELING HOME FROM JOB. TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP AND TRUCK CAME TO STOP IN MIDDLE OF ROAD. I LOOKED UNDER HOOD AND FOUND OIL IN RADIATOR. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED BACK TO SHOP. COME TO FIND OUT THE SHOP HAD REPLACED WITH USED RADIATOR. THE SAME THING HAD HAPPENED AGAIN WHERE ANTIFREEZE MIXED WITH TRANSMISSION OIL CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE, STILL IN SHOP AND WAITING ON ITS RETURN. SPENT 12000 ON TRUCK AND IN FIRST MONTH. 400 MILES AND 3000 IN REPAIRS. AND STILL CLIMBING. *TR
