MY FRONTIER HAD A FLAT TIRE AND WHEN MY SPARE TIRE WAS LOWERED, THERE WERE 4 SPOTS OF THE TIRE THAT HAD BEEN WORN THROUGH THE SIDE WALL. I TRIED ANOTHER TIRE FROM A 2011 FRONTIER AND THE TIRE WAS THE SAME EXACT WAY. THE WAY ITS MOUNTED IS THE PROBLEM. *TR
IN FEBRUARY OF 2013 MY 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER BEGAN TO DISPLAY A TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. REGARDLESS OF THE TIRE PRESSURE IN EACH TIRE, THE LIGHT REMAINED ON. IT FLASHED WITH ENGINE START UP BEFORE BEING STEADILY ILLUMINATED. ALSO, IN LATE MARCH 2013 THE FUEL GAUGE BEGAN TO INDICATE A PROBLEM. UPON FILLING UP THE VEHICLE'S FUEL TANK THE GAUGES NEEDLE WOULD FALL TO E (EMPTY), THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE, AND THE NEEDLE WOULD REMAIN ON E UNTIL DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20-25 MILES. WHEN THE NEEDLE REACHED F (FULL) THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON (SES) LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND REMAIN ON UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN ENOUGH TO BURN APPROXIMATELY HALF THE TANK OF FUEL. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE ONLINE IT IS APPARENTLY QUITE COMMON WITH NISSAN FRONTIERS, XTERRAS, AND PATHFINDERS IN THIS RANGE OF PRODUCTION YEARS (E.G. 2007). ON JUNE 11, 2013 I FINALLY TOOK THE FRONTIER TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. AN EVALUATION WAS MADE, AND THE SERVICE STAFF IDENTIFIED THE TROUBLE AS BEING A TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR AND FUEL SENDING UNIT FOR THE RESPECTIVE CAUSES OF TROUBLE. MY ONLINE RESEARCH CORROBORATES THIS. I RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE OF APPROXIMATELY $793 FOR REPAIR OF THE TWO COMPONENTS. NISSAN NEEDS TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE WARRANTY/FREE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT FOR THESE COMPONENTS AS THEY CONTINUE TO BE FAULTY BASED ON COPIOUS INTERNET RESEARCH. BOTH OF THESE FAULTS PRESENT A HAZARD TO DRIVERS AND OCCUPANTS AS THE DISPLAY CENTER, WHICH A DRIVER MAY RELY ON FOR VEHICLE INFORMATION, WILL NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY WHEN NEEDED SO THAT A DRIVER IS NOT CERTAIN WHAT LEVEL OF FUEL IS AVAILABLE IN THE TANK, AND IF/WHEN A TIRE IS LOW OR FLAT. THIS MAY RESULT IN THE DRIVER BEING STRANDED WITHOUT AVAILABILITY OF ASSISTANCE AS WELL AS A VEHICLE ACCIDENT. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 94 GOING HOME FROM MY CLASS. THE ROAD WAS SLIGHTLY WET FROM SNOW PRIOR IN THE DAY. I WAS GOING ABOUT 60MPH WHEN MY VEHICLE FELT AS IF MY BACK TIRES WERE SPINNING OR MAKING LIKE A QUICK SLIP. IT CONTINUED DOING THIS SO I SLOWED DOWN TO 45MPH. WAS STILL HAPPENING REPEATEDLY. OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS IT CONTINUED, I WAS THINKING I MIGHT NEED NEW TIRES, EVEN THOUGH THE ONES I HAD ON THE TRUCK SEVERAL PEOPLE SAID THEY WERE FINE. WHEN THE WEATHER WARMED UP AND WE NO LONGER HAS SNOW I DIDN'T NOTICE THE "QUICK SPIN OF MY TIRES" ISSUE AS MUCH. I PURCHASED NEW TIRES IN NOVEMBER OF 2013 AND STILL AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. IT'S A VERY SCARY FEELING, YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOUR GOING TO HAVE YOUR TIRES SPIN QUICKLY LIKE THAT AND GO INTO A FULL SPIN AND ROLL. ALSO YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN ITS GOING TO HAPPEN, IT JUST DOES IT WHEN IT WANTS TO. *TR
MY VEHICLE HAS THE LOW TIRE AIR PRESSURE SENSOR. ALL 4 OF THE TIRES LEAK BECAUSE THE VALVE STEMS ARE CRACKING INTERNALLY. THE VALVE STEMS ARE $100 EACH PLUS LABOR TO INSTALL THEM. SOFT TIRES ARE UNSAFE AND COULD BLOW OUT CAUSING ACCIDENTS AND INJURY. THESE SHOULD BE RECALLED. NISSAN SAYS THEY WON'T HELP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM ALERTED LOW PRESSURE IN THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY REPLACED THE TIRE PRESSURE SENOR UNDER THE SERVICE WARRANTY. RECENTLY, A SIMILAR FAILURE OCCURRED WITH THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 33,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE WERE MANUFACTURED BY COOPER TIRE & RUBBER CO. AND THE TIRE LINE WAS LEXINGTON ES-335 (KENDA H RATED), SIZE 215/60R15. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. TWO WEEKS LATER THE REAR DRIVER SIDE, TIRE BLEW OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. BOTH OF THE TIRES WERE TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT DEALER WHICH WAS WHERE THEY WERE PURCHASED. THE INDEPENDENT DEALER REPLACED BOTH OF THE TIRES WITH THE SAME BRAND AND STATED THAT HE COULD NOT REPLACE THE TIRES WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND OR TIRE LINE. THE WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR. THE MANUFACTURER TOLD AN INDEPENDENT DEALER THAT THE TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED BY THE CONTACT. THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 35,000.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM FOR NISSAN PRODUCTS. I READ THE RECALL AND SERVICE POSTING. YOU MUST INCLUDE 2007 VEHICLES SUCH AS MY 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER PICK UP TRUCK 4WD. THIS SAME CONDITION HAS BEEN A PROBLEM ON MY TRUCK SINCE MID/LATE 2008 AND DRIVING ME CRAZY. THE LIGHT NOW COMES ON AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING...FIRST BLINKING AND THEN STEADY. PURCHASED 2007 NISSAN FRONTIER CREW CAB P/U TRUCK FROM BONDY'S NISSAN, DOTHAN, ALABAMA IN JANUARY 2007, NEW - IN JANUARY 2008 I ROTATED TIRES ON TRUCK, INCLUDING THE SPARE WHEEL, WHICH HAS A MATCHING TIRE, SAME AS FOUR ON THE GROUND - THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON - I TOOK THE TRUCK TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF BONDY'S NISSAN TO DETERMINE WHY SENSOR LIGHT WAS ON - SERVICE REP TOLD ME THE STEEL WHEEL THAT CAME WITH TRUCK AS "SPARE" WAS CAUSE FOR THE SENSOR TO COME ON - HE SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM - SAID I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT UP WITH NISSAN USA - HAVE EMAILED NISSAN-USA, BUT NO RESPONSE FROM THEM, YET. *TR
