( The fuel filler door is suppose to lock when the car doors are locked) and unlock when the car doors are unlocked. As it stands, the fuel filler door remains unlocked all the time.

Additionally, while driving over bumps in the roadway, the fuel filler door erroneously opened. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who indicated that the fuel filler door was not equipped with a locking mechanism and no fault was found with the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure created a safety, and security and environmental issues and needed to be addressed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 282.
