This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

About 15 minutes after starting car and about 5 miles, I was making a right turn from a stop sign. Made almost a complete turn and the car stopped moving. Engine revved from depressing accelerator and car did not move (except for backwards due to being on an incline). Applied the brakes. Looked to make sure I was in gear and I was. Display said D for drive and gear selector was in D. For about after 10 seconds of wondering what was happening, the transmission engaged and I was able to continue. Called Nissan and was told as long as it's driving now, they will look at it at my next service (10,000 m).

I have found many people online via facebook or reddit who have made similar complaints regarding their brand new 2025 Kicks windshield cracking within the last 3 months. As well as reports from Nissan's parts centers and Safelite regarding a delay in replacement windshields for this specific car due to increased demand. There were no warnings or symptoms of the problem prior.
