NISSAN MURANO 2003 ALTERNATOR FAILUERS MARCH 24, 2004 - ALTERNATOR REPLACED AT 25,537 MILES. OCTOBER 23, 2004 - WIFE AND CHILD STRANDED ON SIDE OF ROAD - NEEDS ANOTHER NEW ALTERNATOR 36,800 MILES. *AK PE04077_CAT
THE VEHCILE BECAME HARD TO STEER AT LOW SPEEDS. DEALER IS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK *NM
TRANSFER CASE FOR AWD FAILURE 2ND TIME IN 26,000 MILES (1ST 8,000 MILES, 2ND 26,000 MILES). IN BOTH CASES GRINGING POPING NIOSE AND LOCKED UP VIECHELE HAD TO BE TOWED IN TO DEALERSHIP. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF A PROBLEM PRIOR TO FAILURE.
DT: THE CONSUMER STATES THAT THE 2003 NISSAN MURANO EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH. THE VDC OFF AND THE SLIP WHERE THE LIGHTS T CAME ON IN THE DASHBOARD. THESE LIGHTS CAME ON THE FIRST TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED. THE NEXT TIME THAT THE LOSS OF POWER WAS EXPERIENCED THE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE. THE DEALER HAS NO IDEA WHY THE CAR IS DOING THIS, SPECIFICALLY STATES THE CONSUMER. THE CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED NISSAN DIRECTLY BY MAIL AND RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM NISSAN THAT THEY WANTED TO SCHEDULE A FINAL REPAIR ATTEMPT AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE MURANOS SHIFTER WAS ALSO STICKING, AND YOU COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO GO INTO PARK OR REVERSE. THE CAR WOULD NOT GO ANY HIGHER THAN NEUTRAL. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE OWNERS OF THE CAR HAVE FILED FOR THE LEMON LAW. *AK

FOUND NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON MURANO.ORG AND FRESHALLOY.COM. DEALER CLOSED FOR LONG WEEKED, HAD TO RENT CAR. PROBLEM CONFIRMED BY DEALER, ALTERNATOR REPLACED FOR APX 550.00. CAR WAS 1700 MILES OVER WARRANTY, NO GOODWILL COVERAGE. CAR IS 18 MONTHS OLD. 37700 MILES. LUCKY TO MAKE IT HOME..ACCORDING TO OTHERS CAR WILL DIE AS SOON AS BATTERY LOOSES ITS CHARGE, CAUSING INSTANT SHUTDOWN, VERY DANGEROUS.*AK
DRIVING WHEN BATTERY LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY COMPLETE POWER FAILURE. I WAS TOWED TO NISSAN DEALER WHERE I DESCRIBED THE PROBLEM. SERVICE REP SAID "YOUR ALTERNATOR FAILED--NISSAN PUT IN A BAD BATCH OF ALTERNATORS IN THE MURANOS." NISSAN HOWEVER MADE ME PAY THE $640 COST OF REPAIR BECAUSE I WAS 2800 MILES OBER THE 36,000 MILE WARRANTY.*AK PE04077_CAT
CAR QUIT RUNNING WHILE DRIVING; NO WARNING. HAD TO COAST ACROSS LANES OF FAST-MOVING TRAFFIC TO SAFE SPOT OFF SIDE OF ROAD, NARROWLY AVOIDED BEING HIT BY FAST-MOVING CARS BEHIND ME. CAR WAS TOWED TO NISSAN DEALER; ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED. OLD PART NOT AVAILABLE. *JB

I WAS PULLING OFF THE FREEWAY WHEN MY CAR STARTED TO HESITATE. WHEN I GOT TO THE LIGHT MY CAR STALLED AND THE PANEL LIGHTS DIMMED. AFTER SOME TIME I WAS ABLE TO GET TO A SAFE PLACE TO CALL AAA AND I TOWED THE CAR TO THE DEALER. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PART AND I HAD TO WAIT OVER A WEEK AND 1/2 BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET MY CAR BACK. *TR
2003 NISSAN MURANO - SINCE THE FIRST DAY IT HAS HESITATED AND JERKED WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A FULL STOP. THIS IS LIKELY RELATED TO THE KNOWN TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. *TR
THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE DEALER STATED THE CRANK SHAFT SENOR BURNED UP.. THE ALTERNATOR AND THE CONTROL MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED. *JB THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES BY DEALER. *TC
ALTERNATOR FAILURE - NO EVENT LED UP TO THE EVENT. I WAS DRIVING ALONG AND THE BRAKE AND BATTERY LIGHTS CAME ON. I DROVE TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED.*AK
ALTERNATOR FAILURE ON MY 2003 NISSAN MURANO. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY ALTERNATOR FAILURES OF THE NOSSAN MURANO. I REFER YOU TO WWW.NISSANMURANO.ORG THEN JUST CLICK ON "PROBLEMS" THERE ARE OVER 2,000 MURANO OWNERS THAT ARE MEMBERS OF THIS SITE. ALSO I DID NOT HAVE ANY ACCIDENT, FIRE, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR A CRASH BECAUSE OF THIS FAILURE. NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 03V455000: POSITION SENSOR WELD; WHILE TRAVELING 80 TO 100 MPH FOR A MINIMUM OF FIVE MINUTES, THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION BUT MAINTAINED SPEED. THE GAS GAUGE MOVED LOSING A QUARTER TANK OF GAS. THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED RADIO SIGNAL AND VOLUME FLUCTUATION ALONG WITH THE GAS GAUGE NOT GOING PASS 3/4 FULL. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR REMEDY THE CAUSE. THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE AS THE POSITION SENSOR RECALL. *JB *NM

DRIVING VEHICLE AT NIGHT 300 MILES FROM HOME WHEN THE "BATTERY" AND BRAKE TROUBLE LIGHTS CAME ON. CAR COMPLETELY LOST POWER SUDDENLY AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE ROAD SHOULDER. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS. I WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER AND HAD TO RENT A CAR HOME AND RENT A CAR TO COME BACK FOR MY VEHICLE. ALTERNATOR WAS DIAGNOSED AS FAILED. NISSAN DEALER COULD NOT OBTAIN PART FOR 7 DAYS. NO EXPLAINATION.*AK PE04077_CAT
NISSAN MURANO LOSSING OIL PRIOR TO FIRST 3,000 MILE OIL CHANGE, TRANSMISSION PULLED TO REPLACE ENGINE OIL SEAL. VEHICLE CONTINUES TO LOSS OIL NOW WITH 20,000 MILES. THERE IS A STRONGE OIL SMELL IN CAR. BOTH ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION PULLED AGAIN. WAITING ON DEALER REPAIR SHOP TO RETURN CAR.*AK

8/27/04 GOING AT 65 MPH CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND WILL ROLL TO A STOP, HAD TO BE TOWED AFTER THAT. 8/30/04 SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. TOWED BACK TO DEALER. 2/2/05 CAR WOULD NOT START- JUMPER CABLE START- DEALER REPLACED BATTERY. AND 2/11/05 ENGINE SHUT OFF WHEN COMING OUT OF A BUSY INTERSECTION- HAD TO BE TOWED STILL IN SHOP. *JB
DRIVER SEAT TRACK HAS BEEN REPLACED 2XS AND STILL HAS ROCKING MOTION PROBLEM, VERY ANNOYING NISSAN MIGHT AS WELL PUT THUMB TACS ON THE STEERING WHEELS OF THEIR CARS IF THEY FIND THIS PROBLEM ACCEPTABLE. *JB
THE TRANSFER CASE AND DRIVESHFT HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A HORRIBLE NOISE THAT STARTED OCCURING AT 10200 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK *TC *JB PE04077_CAT
BATTERY LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE NEXT DAY, CAR STOPPED, WHILE DRIVING, ALMOST CAUSING A REAR END ACCIDENT. ALL POWER WAS LOST. DEALER REPLACED ALTERNATOR. 2003 MURANO, AWD, 11000 MILES. *JB PE04077_CAT
AFTER DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 55+MPH, FOR MORE THAN A HALF HOUR, IF YOU THEN GET INTO STOP AND GO OR CITY TRAFFIC, AND YOU ARE STOPPED, IF YOU PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE CAR WILL NOT RESPOND FOR 5-10 SECONDS, THEN WILL LUNGE FORWARD. THIS IS NOT ONLY ANNOYING, IT IS SO DANGEROUS. NOW THAT I AM AWARE OF IT, I TRY TO LEAVE LOTS OF SPACE BETWEEN ME AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME (NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE IN THE CITY). IT ONLY SEEMS TO HAPPEN UNDER THE CONDITIONS DESCRIBED ABOVE. I NOTICED THIS HAPPENING A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AFTER PURCHASING MY MURANO. *NM
ALTERNATOR FAILED ON MY CAR THAT IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. THIS PROBLEM IS HAPPENING VERY OFTEN AND NISSAN NEEDS TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. *JB
INITIALLY,THIS CAR WOULD STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION AND ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO A FAULTY ALTERNATOR. I ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT . THE CAR WOULD LOSS POWER AND THEN TAKE OFF AND FINALLY THE CAR WOULD STOP ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. I ALMOST GOT KILLED 3 TIMES DUE THE CAR STALLING OUT ON ME. THE TRANSMISSION DIED ON ME 3 TIMES. THE FIRST TWO TIMES, I HAD ONLY 20-30,000 MILES. ( I PURCHASED THE CAR BRAND NEW). THE VERY LAST TIME THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION (COSTING ME $6, 000) I HAD ABOUT 160,000 MILES. EVEN AFTER HAVING NISSAN REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION 3 TIMES, THE CAR STILL STALLS OR SHUTS OFF WHILE IN MOTION. ABOUT A YEAR AGO, I HAD NEW CAT CONVERTERS INSTALLED, A NEW MANIFOLD AND EXHAUST INSTALLED. IT RAN FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AND NOW IT IS STILL STALLING OUT AND STOPPING (WHILE IN MOTION) ME. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. NOW NISSAN THINKS THE CRANK SHAFT POSITIONING IS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM BUT REFUSE TO DO IT FOR FREE BECAUSE THE VIN# TO MY CAR IS NOT LISTED WITH THE REST OF THE 2003 MURANO'S (RECALL LIST). THIS I THINK IS RIDICULOUS. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT NISSAN HAS ALOT PROBLEMS WITH THEIR OLDER MURANO'S WITH REGARDS TO STALLING, STOPPING SUDDENLY WHILE IN MOTION. THEY SEEM TO CARE LESS IF THE OWNERS LIFE IS AT RISK. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THESE ISSUES, SINCE I FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR. IT IS A PIECE OF JUNK AND IT IS AN EXTREME HAZARD TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING HOME ON A 4 LANE ROAD WITH A CENTER TURN LANE IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SUDDENLY STOPPED. I HIT THE BRAKES AND SWERVED INTO THE LEFT HAND LANE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I WAS TRAVELING APROX. 25 TO 30 MPH. THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND THE CAR WAS CROSSING THROUGH THE TURN LANE HEADING FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I JERKED THE WHEEL HARD TO THE RIGHT AND THE POWER STEERING CAME BACK AT THE LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT NARROWLY AVOIDING A HEAD ON COLLISION.*AK
MASTER CYLINDER WENT OUT ON MURANO LEAVING ME WITH NO BRAKES. NO ADVANCE WARNING TO FAILURE. MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED BY NISSAN UNDER WARRANTY. '03 NISSAN MURANO WITH 15,000 MILES. *JB
THREE SEPARATE INCIDENTS OF CD-CHANGER/PLAYER FAILURE, EACH TIME UNIT WAS REPLACED WITH A "NEW" ONE. TWO FAILURES OF REAR CUP HOLDER. ONE FAILURE OF VEHICLE ALTERNATOR AT APPROXIMATELY 19,000 MILES. MOST RECENT FAILURE WAS THE IPDM CONTROL MODULE AT APPROXIMATELY 20,000 MILES. MYSTERIOUS ONGOING TRANSMISSION HESITATION, CAUSE UNKNOWN.*AK
THE DRIVERS SEAT IN MY 2003 MURANO HAD AN EXCESSIVE ROCKING PROBLEM SINCE PURCHASED NEW AND PROCEEDED TO GET WORSE AND WORSE UNTIL I COULD NOT TAKE IT ANYMORE.WELL NISSAN REPLACED THE WHOLE TRACK ASSEMBLY ON JULY 20, 2004. TO MY SURPRISE THE NEW ONE, ONLY BEING 3 WEEKS OLD IS ALREADY AS BAD AS THE ORIGINAL ONE BUT NOW IT MAKES AN EXCESSIVE CREEKING NOISE.MAYBE THE 3RD ONE WILL BE THE CHARM ?????*AK
MY ALTINATOR BROKE ON MY 2003 NISSAN MURANO WITH ABOUT 8500 MILES ON THE WHOLE CAR.*AK
2003 MURANO. THE POWER STEERING FADES IN AND OUT WHILE TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS . TURN THE STEERING ONE WAY TO ONE DIRECTION AND TRY TO QUICKLY TURN IT BACK TO THE OPPOSITE WAY WHILE SLIGHTLY ACCELERATING. ALL OF A SUDDEN, STEERING BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT AND REQUIRES MUSCLE POWER CAUSING A FEW NEAR COLLISIONS WHEN CHANGING LANE OR MANEUVERING OUT OF SUDDEN AVOIDANCE. *JB
FOLLOWING 15000 MILE ROUTINE SERVICE AND WHILE RETURNING TO MY HOME FROM THE NISSAN DEALER, MY NISSAN MURANO SE AWD'S BRAKE LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT WENT ON. I LOST COMPLETE POWER (VOLTAGE) WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN TO A MAJOR INTERSECTION. THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DID NOT OPERATE. NEARLY LOST MY LIFE WITH AN APPROACHING SAND TRUCK AND VEHICLES DRIVING BEHIND ME. THE PROBLEM/DEFECT IDENTIFIED BY THE DEALER WAS A FAULTY ALTERNATOR, WHICH WAS SUBSEQUENTLY REPLACED UNDER CAR WARRANTY. PE04077_CAT
MY ALTERNATOR FAILED. I WAS STRANDED ON A BUSY FREEWAY. WHEN I CALLED NISSAN ROADSIDE, I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ROADSIDE COVERAGE AND THEY WOULD NOT TOW IT TO THE DEALER. I HAD TO MAKE MY OWN ARRANGEMENTS, AT MY EXPENSE, TO GET IT THERE TO HAVE THE WARRANTY REPAIR COMPLETED. *JB
WHEN STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER REAR-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AS A RESULT. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. *JB THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. RECALL #10072202 & 10072201. *SC
ALTERNATOR FAILURE, AT 14K MILES. PARKING BRAKE LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE RAN FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, THEN BATTERY FAILED AND VEHICLE SHUT DOWN, WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY INTERSTATE AT HIWAY SPEEDS. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO NEAREST NISSAN DEALER, STAYED THERE FOR 4 DAYS TIL IT COULD HAVE ALTERNATOR REPLACED. I HAD TO RENT A CAR, OUT OF POCKET, AND GET A HOTEL ROOM FOR ONE NIGHT, OUT OF POCKET, BESIDES THE LONG JOURNEY TO GET THE CAR WHEN FINISHED, AS I WAS ABOUT 3-4 HOURS FROM HOME WHEN THIS HAPPENED.*AK
(1) VEHICHLE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY, THEN THE BATTERY AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. 2) WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE LOOKING FOR A DEALERSHIP, THE ENTIRE CAR SHUT DOWN, INCLUDING THE ENGINE AND BRAKING. I HAD TO CROSS 2 LANES OF INTERSTATE TRAFFIC TO GET TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT POWER OR ADEQUATE BRAKING. AT THE TIME, I WAS TRAVELLING OUT OF TOWN AND WAS STRANDED IN A CITY WHERE I KNEW NO ONE. (3) AFTER BEING TOWED TO A DEALER, THE DAY AFTER I WAS TOLD THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY WERE BOTH BAD. A NEW ALTERNATOR HAD TO BE ORDERED BUT THERE WERE NONE IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA AND DIDN'T KNOW WHEN ONE WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY WERE EVENTUALLY REPLACED AT NO COST TO ME, 3 WORKING DAYS AFTER ARRIVING. OLD PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.*AK PE04077_CAT
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 65 MPH ON A SUNNY DAY (I.E., THE RAOD WAS DRY) WHEN THE CAR, ON ITS OWN, STARTED VEERING INTO THE RIGHT HAND LANE. I ATTEMPTED TO STRAIGHTEN THE CAR BY VERY GENTLY THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT, BUT IT WAS AS IF I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL. THE CAR SKIDDED ACROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND INTO A SERIES OF 360-DEGREE TURNS. EVENTUALLY, THE CAR STOPPED TURNING, FACING SOUTH IN A NORTHBOUND LANE. IT CONTINUED TO SKID BACKWARDS, AND ONLY CAME TO A STOP WHEN IT HIT A LIGHTPOLE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. ALTHOUGH THE THE REAR OF THE CAR WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED AND THE CAR WAS ASSESSED AS NEEDING MAJOR, MAJOR REPAIRS, MY INSURANCE COMPANY REFUSED TO "TOTAL" THE CAR IS IT WAS ONLY ABOUT 6 MONTHS OLD AND HAD BEEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 5000 MILES. WITH NO OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO ME, I HAD THE CAR REPLACED, BUT SOLD IT THE DAY IT LEFT THE REPAIR SHOP AS I CONSIDER THIS CAR TO BE A DEATHTRAP AND REFUSED TO SET FOOT IN IT FOLLOWING THE ACCIDENT.*AK
03 NISSAN MURANO SL BATTERY WARNING LIGHT AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND WOULD NOT GO OUT ALTERNATOR WAS DIAGNOSED BY DEALER AS BEING BAD ALTERNATOR REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY BY DEALER I AM A SUBSCRIBER TO A INTERNET FORUM FOR MURANO'S AND HEARD OF THE WARNING SIGNS AND SUBSEQUENT ALTERNATOR FAILURES FROM OTHER OWNERS. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED OCCURANCE FOR MURANO OWNERS SOMEWHERE AROUND 30% OF VEHICLES HAVE SUFFERED THIS FAILURE AND SOME MORE THAN ONCE. I BELIEVE THAT NISSAN SHOULD ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AND CONDUCT A RECALL FOR REPLACEMENT OF THESE ALTERNATORS TO INCLUDE A NEW DESIGN OR NEW SUPPLIER TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM
WHEN EVER THE CAR IS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC IT BEGINS TO HESITATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED AND THEN LURCHES FORWARD. THE EFFECT IS LIKE A RUBBER BAND STRETCHING AND THEN RELEASING QUICKLY. NUMEROUS CLOSE CALLS HAVE OCCURRED BASED ON OTHER VEHICLES ASSUMING THAT WE ARE ALLOWING THEM TO ENTER THE ROAD AHEAD OF US ONLY TO SEE THE CAR LURCH AND THE BRAKES APPLIED HEAVILY.AFTER EACH OF THESE OCCURENCES SPEED CONTROL BEGINS TO SURGE AND DECLINE WHEN ENGAGED. FOUR VISITS JANUARY 14 2004 SERVICE DEPARTMENT CANNOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. MAY, 26,2004 DEALER FOUND MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR COULD BE PROBLEM JUNE 3,2004 DEALER REPLACED MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. JUNE 4 2004 RETURNED TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR SAME PROBLEM DEALER SERVICE CANNOT REPLICATE. SEPT 14004 SAME PROBLEM DEALER CLAIMS DROVE CAR 160 MILES NOT IN STOP AND GO FOPR MORE THAN A SHORT PERIOD AND CANNOT REPLICATE PROBLEM. *AK
CLOTH SEATS GENERATE STATIC SHOCK AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE ALMOST EVERY TIME. FEAR A POTENTIAL CAUSE OF IGNITIION WHEN FUELING.*AK
CAR WOULDN'T START, TOWED IT TO THE DEALER. GOT IT BACK SAME DAY CLAIMING IT WAS FUSES. GOT STRANDED AGAIN THAT EVENING. TOWED IT TO ANOTHER DEALER WHO SAYS THEY REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR AND FUEL PUMP.*AK PE04077_CAT
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT TILTED TOWARDS THE LEFT WHENEVER THE SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY DETECTED THAT THE METAL SUPPORT BAR UNDERNEATH THE SEAT BROKE IN HALF. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED HIM THAT THE SUPPORT BAR COULD NOT BE WELDED TOGETHER; AND THE SEAT FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.
2003 NISSAN MURANO SE AWD. ALTERNATOR FAILED AT 13,000 MILES. NO PREVIOUS SYMPTOMS. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MURANOS AND SHOULD BE A SUBJECT FOR A RECALL BY NISSAN.*AK
