TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT MOVED BACKWARDLY WITHOUT INTENT. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVE CAUTIOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THE DRIVER'S SEAT SUPPORT BRACKET FRACTURED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,300.
DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON HIGHWAY; LOOKED OVER LEFT SHOULDER TO CHANGE LANES AND HEARD LOUD POP. SEAT FELL BACK AND TO THE LEFT UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS DID CAUSE ME TO GO INTO ANOTHER LANE - THANKFULLY THERE WAS NO ONE THERE AT THAT TIME. FOR THE REST OF THE RIDE THE SEAT BOUNCED UP AND DOWN AND MOVED FORWARDS AND BACKWARDS. I SEE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS HAD THIS ISSUE. NISSAN DOES SELL A "BRACKET" TO HELP REINFORCE THIS BUT IT IS OVER $1000.00 OR YOU CAN BUY THE SEAT BRAND NEW FOR $2-3,000. ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE HEAT/ELECTRIC TO THE SEAT. THESE PRICES DO NOT INCLUDE LABOR EITHER. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN WITH ME EVERY DAY AND I AM THANKFUL THAT THIS DID NOT END IN AN ACCIDENT. IT SEEMS THAT EVENTUALLY IT MAY END THAT WAY FOR SOMEONE THOUGH. WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO HAVE A SAFETY RECALL? DOES SOMEONE TRULY NEED TO LOOSE THEIR LIFE IN ORDER FOR A RECALL TO HAPPEN? WHEN YOU SPEND THIS MUCH ON A LUXURY VEHICLE YOU EXPECT IT TO STAND UP AND THE MAKER BEHIND IT TO STAND BEHIND IT!!! I AM EXTREMELY UNHAPPY AT THIS TIME WITH HOW NISSAN IS HANDLING THIS. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE VISOR BEGAN SWINGING DOWN AND BLOCKING VISION INTERMITTENTLY DURING HIGH SPEED TRAVEL AND BUMPY CONDITIONS. THE VISOR HAS CONTINUED TO DEGRADE AND SWINGS DOWN UNDER ALMOST ANY MOVEMENT. I HAD A QUOTE FROM A MECHANIC TO REPLACE THIS ITEM, BUT THE COST SEEMS EXCESSIVE. THE VISOR IS CURRENTLY HELD IN PLACE WITH DUCT TAPE/ VELCRO, BUT THE HOME FIX IS NOT EFFECTIVE OR LONG LASTING. *TR
POWER STEERING HOSE IS LEAKING, POWER STEERING FLUID IS FLAMMABLE. UPON DOING RESEARCH NUMEROUS NISSAN MURANO OWNERS HAVE ENCOUNTERED THE SAME DEFECT. REPAIR COST IS BETWEEN $400-500. IF THE MANIFOLD WERE TO GET HOT ENOUGH AND POWER STEERING FLUID CAME INTO CONTACT IT IS A FIRE HAZARD. *TR
SUN VISOR DOES NOT STAY UP. IT WILL FALL DOWN OBSTRUCTING VIEW WHEN UNEXPECTED, ESPECIALLY FOR TALLER DRIVERS. SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON ISSUE ON THE INTERNET WITH NISSAN VEHICLES. I'VE HAD OTHER VEHICLES RECALLED DUE TO SAFETY RELATED ISSUES THAT SEEM TO BE FAR LESS OF A LIKELY PROBLEM THAN THIS ONE. THEY LIKELY DON'T GET REPLACED BECAUSE OF THEIR EXPENSE. *TR
WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, I HEARD A LOUD POP, AND FELT THE DRIVERS SEAT MOVE BACK AND TO THE LEFT. I PULLED OVER NOT LONG AFTER THAT TO TAKE A LOOK, AND NOTICED THAT ONE OF THE BRACKETS UNDER THE SEAT HAD SHEARED OFF. THE SEAT NOW LEANS TO THE LEFT AND WILL ROCK BACK AND FORTH WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING CORNERS OR RUNNING OVER BUMPS. *TR
LIKE ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ ONLINE , I HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINT. I HAD BOUGHT A 2006 MURANO WITH ONLY 28,000 MILES, ALONG WITH BEING THE SECOND OWNER ONLY AND NOT LONG AFTER I HAD IT, THE DRIVER SEAT BROKE!! THEY SAY IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE BUT HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??? WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING ,YOUR SEAT IS LOOSE!!!!! AND WHAT IF YOU GET IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE OTHER HALF OF THE SEAT BREAKS AS WELL!!! HOW CAN THEY NOT RECALL THIS PRODUCT DUE TO THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME ISSUE!!!!??? DRIVER'S SEAT, LEFT SIDE BECAME LOOSE AND SEEMS THAT FRAME/BRACKET ON THE BOTTOM IS BROKE. *TR
I SAT DOWN IN MY DRIVER SEAT AND THE SEAT BROKE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX. 45 MILES PER HOURS THE SUN DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR SUDDENLY LOWERED FROM THE "UP" POSITION, COMPLETELY BLOCKING MY VIEW OF THE ROAD IN FRONT OF ME. THIS PROBLEM PERSISTED INTERMITTENTLY THEN THE VISOR WOULD NOT STAY IN THE "UP" POSITION AT ALL. I HAD TO REMOVE THE VISOR IN ORDER TO SEE, BUT I AM THEN BLINDED BY THE SUN AT TIMES CREATING AN EQUALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I HAVE READ SEVERAL ONLINE FORUMS AND THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE VISOR, JUST A FORCED REPLACEMENT AT $300.00. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THE BOLTS HOLDING THE DRIVERS SEAT BROKE AWAY FROM THE FRAME CAUSING THE SEAT TO LEAN TO THE LEFT. THE DEALER STATED THE ENTIRE SEAT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
DRIVER POWER SEAT UNABLE TO MOVE. GETS STUCK AT ONE LOCATION SO CAN NOT MOVE TO ADJUST FOR PROPER DRIVING LOCATION. ALSO POSSIBLE AIRBAG ISSUE SINCE CAN GET SEAT STUCK UP AGAINST STEERING WHEEL. NO WAY TO ADJUST SEAT ONCE MOTOR STOPS WORKING. EVEN PAID TO GET REPAIRED THE OTHER MONTH AND NOW IT HAS STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. ONLY THING GOOD THIS TIME IS THAT THE SEAT IS STUCK FURTHER BACK AND NOT UP AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL. THAT IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WHEN A LOUD POPPING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT, WHICH IMMEDIATELY BECAME WOBBLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WELDING THAT HELD THE SEAT TO THE TRACK WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,080.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT DRIVERS SEAT BROKE AWAY FROM THE FRAME ON THE VEHICLE AND BEGAN TO WOBBLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THE SEAT FRAME WAS BROKEN AND THE ENTIRE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT SPOKE TO THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THE SEAT BREAKING WAS UNUSUAL AND IT HAD TO BE BECAUSE OF THE WAY IT WAS BEING USED. THE CONTACT FEELS THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE SEAT WAS UNSTABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR FALLS, BLOCKING VIEW. I PUSH IT BACK UP AND THE NEXT CRACK IN THE ROAD MAKES IT FALL AGAIN. NISSAN DEALER WANTS OVER $200 TO REPLACE. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT THE SPEED IS. A CRACK OR BUMP IN THE ROAD MAKES IT FALL. *TR
THE HINGE MECHANISM THAT KEEPS THE SUN VISOR IN THE UP POSITION, FAILS CAUSING THE VISOR TO RANDOMLY FALL WHILE I'M DRIVING. THIS CAUSES ME TO BE STARTLED & ALSO IS A VISIBILITY PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL! THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL TANK, STEERING LEVEL SENSOR AND THE AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V401000 (STEERING:COLUMN LOCKING:ANTI-THEFT DEVICE) OR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V003000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY) DID AND DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,430 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 67,000. UPDATED 03/16/12*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED A MONTH AFTER THE FUEL TANK AND SENSOR WAS FIXED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP, WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT SENSOR WAS READING AN ERROR. UPDATED 0604/12
FAILURE (METAL SNAPPED) OF SEAT BRACKET ON LEFT REAR OF DRIVER'S SEAT. WENT TO DEALER. DEALER WON'T REPAIR FOR FREE DUE TO OUT OF WARRANTY AND ADVISED THAT NISSAN WON'T REPAIR UNDER GOODWILL. *TR
A FEW DAYS BEFORE AUG 31ST THE MURANO STARTED SLIPPING GEARS. IT WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP ON AUG 31ST WHERE THE ERROR CODE, STEPPER CODE, CAME UP WHICH IS PART OF THE CVT, THE TRANSMISSION. THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION, UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED THE VALVE BODY AGAIN, THE CONTROL MODULE, AND THE WIRE HARNESS, NONE OF WHICH HAS FIXED THE PROBLEM. WE ARE 10 WEEKS IN THE SHOP AND THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. A NISSAN ENGINEER IS NOW COMING OUT TO LOOK AT IT WANTING TO REPLACE THE VALVE BODY FOR THE THIRD TIME. THEY HAVE REPLACED THIS NOW GOING ON THREE TIMES WITH NEW PARTS AND IT IS NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM. THIS CAR IS NOT A SAFE CAR TO DRIVE ANYMORE. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME LAST WEEK THAT WE WOULD HAVE RESOLUTION, WHETHER THIS WAS A BUYBACK OR WHATEVER BY LAST FRIDAY. LAST FRIDAY THEY CALLED AND NOW THEY ARE NOW FLYING IN AN ENGINEER, THIS IS NOT A RESOLUTION. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ESPECIALLY WITH TWO SMALL CHILDREN. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR GOING ON 10 WEEKS NOW AND I FEEL THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN ARE DOING EVERYTHING THEY CAN NOT TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF. *TR
NORMAL DRIVING - DRIVING MY CHILD TO SCHOOL. DRIVER SIDE SEAT SUDDENLY FELL ON THE LEFT SIDE. INJURING MY BACK. THE SEAT BRACKET ON THE LEFT REAR SEEMS TO BE CRACKED/BROKEN. THE SEATS ROCKS FORCEFULLY WITHOUT NOTICE UP AND DOWN EVEN ON SLIGHT TURNS. ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF CAR ON A VERY HIGH ELEVATED FREEWAY TURN AS WHEN I TURNED TO THE LEFT, THE SEAT ABRUPTLY CAME UP TURNING MY BODY TO THE RIGHT - THAT MOVEMENT MADE ME THEN SUDDENLY PULL DOWN ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL, WHICH THEN FORCED THE CAR TO SUDDENLY SWERVE TO THE LEFT. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO ONE NEXT TO ME AND I WAS ABLE TO RECOVER. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ON A HIGHER SPEED FREEWAY TURN RAMP, THERE WOULD BE A HIGH CHANCE THAT THEY WOULD LOOSE CONTROL AND POSSIBLY CAUSE SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH, DEPENDING ON ROADWAY AND SPACE/DESIGN. THE CAR IS NOW VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AS YOU HAVE TO TRY AND BALANCE YOURSELF USING YOUR LEFT LEG/FOOT PULLED UP TO SEAT. WHEN CORNERING YOU HAVE TO PUT SO MUCH ATTENTION ON TRYING NOT TO SWERVE AS THE SEAT RISES & DROPS YOU DEPENDING ON WHICH WAY YOU ARE TURNING. THE RISING AND DROPPING ON TURNS, NATURALLY PULLS OR PUSHES YOUR BODY WHICH IS HOLDING THE STEERING WHEEL - THIS THEN CAUSES A SEVERE SUDDEN PULL ONE OR THE OTHER WAY. IT ALSO TAKES YOUR ATTENTION OFF THE ROAD AND SURROUNDINGS. IN CONCLUSION, WHEN RESEARCHING THIS, I HAVE SEEN THIS UNDER DEFECTS BUT NO RECALL. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS POORLY DESIGNED LOWER SEAT FRAME AND ONE DAY THIS WILL END UP KILLING SOMEONE. I SURE HOPE IT DOES NOT TAKE THAT TO BECOME A RECALL ITEM. *TT

2006 NISSAN MURANO WITH APPROXIMATELY 57,000 MILES ON IT. VERY DIFFICULT TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I NOTICED THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR WAS LOW AND REFILLED IT. LEAKAGE IDENTIFIED BY STAIN ON PARKING. DEALER DETERMINED THAT CAUSE OF THE LEAK IS A FAILURE OF THE HIGH PRESSURE LINE FOR THE POWER STEERING PUMP. SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THIS IS A VERY COMMON CASE. DEALER CHARGED $550 TO INSTALL A NEW HOSE. NISSAN REFUSE TO REIMBURSE IT. NUMEROUS FAILURES OF THIS PART ARE DOCUMENTED ON WEB FORUMS, NHTSA SITE, AS WELL AS BEING COMMON KNOWLEDGE AMONG THE MECHANICS NETWORK. I WONDER IF IT IS NOT A MANUFACTURING/MATERIAL PROBLEM OF THE PART. CONCERN IS THAT TOTAL FAILURE CAN CAUSE A SURPRISE LOSS OF STEERING RESULTING IN A CRASH AND/ OR CAUSE A FIRE CAUSE IS VERY CLOSE TO THE ENGINE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE ASAP. *TR

THIS COMPLAINT REGARDS THE SUNVISORS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CURRENT SUNVISOR FAILS TO STAY UP (PARALLEL WITH VEHICLE ROOF) OR CANTED. IT FALLS CONSTANTLY, OBSTRUCTING THE VIEW OF THE ROADWAY FOR DRIVERS. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONFIGURATION OF THE VISOR IS SUCH THAT IT IS LIKELY TO FALL WHEN DRIVER'S NEED THEIR VISION THE MOST-- UPON HITTING UNEVEN OR ROCKY PAVEMENT, STRIKING DEBRIS IN THE ROAD, OR MAKING NECESSARY EVASIVE MANEUVERS TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE WIDESPREAD WITH NISSAN MURANOS, AS SEVERAL FORUMS DISCUSSING THE ISSUE ARE VISIBLE ON THE INTERNET. ONE SUCH FORUM IS NISSANMURANO.ORG. THE SITE LISTS APPROXIMATELY ELEVEN PAGES OF CAR OWNERS AND OTHER INDIVIDUALS DISCUSSING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CURRENT REMEDY SUGGESTED BY NISSAN IS A $500 REPLACEMENT VISOR, WHICH IS NOT COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS FIGURE SEEMS UNREASONABLE FOR THE SEVERITY OF THE PROBLEM, ITS WIDESPREAD OCCURRENCE, AND THE POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES OF HAVING AN INTERNAL VEHICLE ACCESSORY FALL OVER THE EYES OF THE DRIVER AT ANY MOMENT. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STALLED AT THE SAME TIME, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. ON ONE OCCASION, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND CRASHED INTO A CEMENT WALL WHILE THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO PARK. THE CONTACT THOUGHT THAT THE FAILURE WAS A DRIVER'S ERROR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS BECAUSE THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 09V169000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NO LONGER STAY UP. WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING IT DROPS DOWN INTO YOUR EYELINE IMPAIRING YOUR VISIBILITY. ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THIS IS NOT AS MUCH OF A SAFETY ISSUE, HOWEVER, ON THE DRIVER"S SIDE IT IS... AN UNEXPECTED BLOCKED SIGHT VISION COUPLED WITH TRAFFIC WILL (IF IT HAS NOT ALREADY) RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT, INJURY OR DEATH TO SOMEONE....THE TWO VISORS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. NISSAN WILL FIX IT (IF UNDER WARRANTY) BUT THEY ARE COUNTING ON THE FAILURE HAPPENING AFTER WARRANTY AND THEN CHARGING A HEFTY PRICE FOR A DRIVER'S SIDE REPLACEMENT, AND/OR HUMAN INGENUITY TO ALLOW OWNERS TO TRY FIX THE PROBLEM THEM SELVES.... I HAVE FOUND FORUMS WITH MANY PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM THAT I AM OF 2006 AND OTHER MODEL YEARS WHERE IT FAILS TO STAY UP. THE TENSION OR SPRING IN THE SUN VISOR IS GONE JUST LIKE THAT AND IT FALLS AND BLOCKS VISION WHILE DRIVING. IT FALLS JUST DRIVING REGULARLY, AND ALTHOUGH DRIVERS NEED VISION ALWAYS AND CONSTANTLY WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, IT ALSO FALLS AT TIMES THAT ARE MOST DANGEROUS WHEN VISION IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE, I.E. ANY DRIVING ON ROUGH SURFACES, ANY MANEUVERING TO AVOID ACCIDENTS, UNEVEN ROADWAYS, UNEXPECTED BRAKING OR EVEN JUST TURNING. I DON'T BELIEVE THE CONSUMERS OF THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE VERY EXPENSIVE REPLACEMENT THAT NISSAN QUOTES WHEN REPORTING THE PROBLEM. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE WARRANTY ABOUT SUN VISORS OR PROBLEMS IMPACTING VISIBILITY. THE SEAT BELT IS A SAFETY ITEM AND IS COVERED FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, 120 MONTHS (10 YEARS)! THE SUN VISOR BLOCKING VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING SHOULD BE ALONG THE SAME LINES AS THAT REGARDING WARRANTY, AND THERE'S NOTHING THAT SAYS IT IS OR ISN'T. I AM DEALING WITH NISSAN'S CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT NOW BUT DO NOT HAVE HOPES OF GETTING THIS RESOLVED WITH THEM. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE A VERY EXPENSIVE BALLAST FOR THE DRIVER SIDE HID BULB (COST ONLY MITIGATED BY BUYING USED), THE FUEL SENSOR, HAVE A RATTLING WINDOW FROM THE BEGINNING THAT THE DEALER FIXED BUT THE FIX DIDN'T LAST, AND HAVE HAD OTHER ISSUES WITH THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT AND SERVICED THE CAR FROM. IT'S ONE THING AFTER THE OTHER AND I HAVE NOT FILED A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE OTHER ITEMS, BUT THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE AND IT'S TIME TO PUT MY FOOT DOWN. IT IS NOT AN OLD CAR, THERE IS NO REASON I, OR ANY OF THE OTHER MURANO OWNERS SHOULD BE PERSONALLY LIABLE FOR THIS SERIOUS VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING ISSUE.

ON JUNE 25TH, 2011, I GOT INTO MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO (THE MILEAGE IS ONLY AT: 47,228) TO FIND MY DRIVER'S-SIDE SEAT HAD COME LOOSE FROM THE FLOOR ON THE BACK LEFT SIDE. THE CHAIR ISN'T 'A LITTLE LOOSE'-IT COMES COMPLETELY OFF THE FLOOR ON THAT SIDE. WHEN I MADE A BROAD LEFT TURN ON MY WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP, I FELT THE SEAT TILT UNDERNEATH ME AND, EVEN THOUGH I WAS DRIVING VERY CAREFULLY, IT STILL SCARED ME. I GRIPPED THE WHEEL TIGHTLY BUT BECAUSE MY BODY WAS BEING SENT TO THE RIGHT, THE CAR WENT THAT DIRECTION AS WELL. I WAS ABLE TO STAY IN MY LANE, BUT HAD I TAKEN THE TURN FASTER AND NOT BEEN AWARE THAT MY SEAT MIGHT SHIFT, IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN ME COMPLETELY BY SURPRISE AND I WOULD HAVE ENDED UP IN THE CIVIC NEXT TO ME. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE SEAT HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE BRACKET THAT SUSTAINED THE SEAT WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
