I NOTICED POWER STEERING FLUID ON THE GROUND AND NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR WAS LOW. I PUT THE CAR ON JACKSTANDS AND CONFIRMED THAT THE POWER STEERING HIGH PRESSURE LINE WAS LEAKING. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION SINCE THE FLUID IS COMBUSTIBLE AND I OBSERVED THE STEERING FLUID ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND EXHAUST PIPE. I FIXED THE HOSE MYSELF AND SAVED ALMOST $450 BUT NISSAN SHOULD ADDRESS THIS DEFECT BEFORE SOMEBODY IS KILLED IN A FIRE. AFTER READING THE NISSAN FORUMS ONLINE IT LOOKS LIKE NISSAN HAS MADE NO ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THIS DANGEROUS DEFECT. *TR
DRIVER DOOR CANNOT BE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED WITH THE REMOTE KEY (FOB) NOR WITH THE BUTTON IN THE HANDLE. IT WORKS ONLY MANUALLY WITH THE KEY INSERTED IN THE DOOR SOCKET. *TR
THE PASSENGERS AND DRIVERS SUN VISORS SUDDENLY BEGAN FALLING DOWN AS THE VEHICLE IS DRIVING AND GOES OVER ANY DIP OR MINOR BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE VISOR DROPS AND BLOCKS THE DRIVERS VIEW OF THE ROAD. THE SAME OCCURS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE VISORS WILL NOT STAY UP IN THE CLOSED POSITION. THIS IS APPARENTLY A DEFECT IN THE 2006 MURANOS AND NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THE MURANO FOR THIS ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BROKE AWAY FROM THE FRAME. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC AND STATED THAT THE MECHANIC FELT IT WAS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
THE DRIVERS SEAT LEFT BRACKET BROKE FREE FROM FRAME, CAUSING THE SEAT TO TILT TO THE LEFT AND WOBBLE WHEN YOU DRIVE AND TAKE CORNERS. AFTER RESEARCH ONLINE, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF CASES OF THIS WITH THE MURANO AND NO ONE SEEMS TO BE GETTING A RECALL OFF THE GROUND. IT IS THE SAME WELD THE SAME SIDE OF THE SAME SEAT IN EACH MURANO, HOW MUCH LOGIC DOES IT TAKE TO GET THIS UNDER RECALL? THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS THE CHAIR IS UNSTABLE. ALSO COMMON SENSE TELLS US WITH THE LEFT SIDE BROKEN THE RIGHT SIDE WELD IS UNDER MORE STRESS AND PHYSICS WILL PROVE IT WILL BREAK AS WELL LEAVING THE DRIVING SEAT UNATTACHED COMPLETELY AND THE DRIVER USING THE STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP FROM BEING THROWN INTO THE BACK SEAT. I CALLED NISSAN AND GOT A BUNCH OF BS PROPAGANDA DOUBLE SPEAK AND FEEL LIKE ANY COMPLAINT I WAS TRYING TO FILE WAS CRUMPLED AND TOSSED INTO THE TRASH BEFORE I WAS EVEN OFF THE PHONE. I HAVE LOVED MY MURANO UP TO THIS POINT, BUT SINCE NISSAN WON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK OR CORRECT WHAT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTER'S DEFECT, THEN I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANOTHER ONE. EVER! *TR
AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, VEHICLE WILL INTERMITTENTLY NOT ACCELERATE WHEN STEPPING ON THE GAS. PERIOD/DURATION OF NON-ACCELERATION IS NOT PREDICTABLE, NOR CAN YOU DEPEND ON BEING ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF AN ONCOMING VEHICLE SHOULD YOU BE IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A LEFT-HAND TURN. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WOULD NOT CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WINDOW'S MOTOR MAY HAVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO VARIOUS OTHER DEALERS AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE ATTEMPTED TO TURN, BUT SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT MANEUVERED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOPPED. THE CONTACT THEN LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS LOW. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A LEAKAGE IN THE POWER STEERING LINK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY NEVER HEARD OF SUCH FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,521.
MY FOUR YEAR OLD SON WAS SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT WHEN THE SEAT BELT WOULDN'T UNLOCK ,MY SON WAS CRYING ,MY HUSBAND COULDN'T GET THE SEAT BELT TO UNLOCK ,IT WAS VERY SCARY HE HAD TO CUT IT OFF ,MY SON STOMACH WAS RED AND SWOLLEN . *TR
I PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN MURANO BRAND NEW. AFTER DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH, I UNDERSTAND THAT MY COMPLIANT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED NUMEROUS TIMES, BY MANY CONSUMERS AND THAT AN INVESTIGATION BY NHTSA HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND CLOSED. WITH THAT SAID, A NEW INVESTIGATION INTO THE MATTERS NEEDS TO OCCUR AND NISSAN NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL. THE VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE CONTINUES TO FLOP DOWN, CAUSING LIMITED VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING. THIS IMPAIRS VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING, WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND ALTHOUGH IT SEEMS THAT THE DEFECT HASN'T RESULTED IN A CASUALTY YET, IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED FROM THIS DEFECT. NEXT, THE SEAT ANCHOR BRACKET/FRAME ON MY DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT IS BROKEN AND HAS CAUSED THE SEAT TO LEAN TO THE LEFT CONSIDERABLY. THE SEAT IS UNSTABLE AND ROCKS BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING, WHICH AGAIN, IS A SAFETY CONCERN. THE INVESTIGATION INTO THIS MATTER BY NHTSA INDICATED THAT THE PROBLEM RESULTS FROM METAL FATIGUE. WHEN IN AUTOMOBILE HISTORY HAS THIS OCCURRED? AS I UNDERSTAND, IT WILL COST OVER $1,000 TO GET THIS FIXED. NISSAN NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ITS MANUFACTURING DEFECTS. I HOPE THEY ARE NOT WAITING UNTIL SOMEONE ACTUALLY DIES BEFORE THEY REALIZE THESE DEFECTS ARE A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
MY NISSAN MURANO 2006 DRIVER SEAT STARTED ROCKING LAST WEEK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND FOUND THAT THE LEFT SEAT TRACK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE PART COST IS $1118.90 AND WITH LABOR, IT'LL COST OVER $1400. I FOUND THIS ISSUE IN THE "DEFECT INVESTIGATION" FOR MY VEHICLE THAT WAS OPENED IN 2009 AND CLOSED IN 2010. ACCORDING TO THE REPORT, THIS WAS NOT FOUND TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE ALSO NOTICED MANY (VERY MANY) COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THIS ISSUE. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TODAY WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T GET IT FIXED AND IF THERE'S AN URGENCY. HE SAID THAT IF I DON'T GET IT FIXED, THE OTHER TRACK MAY BREAK AS WELL. AND IF THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THE WHOLE SEAT COULD FLIP BACKWARDS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS AND OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY CONCERN, THIS HAS NOT BEEN MADE MORE SERIOUS. WHY KNOWING THERE'S A DEFECT, A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN PUT ON THIS ISSUE AND WHY THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT DONE THEIR PART TO ADDRESS THIS DEFECT. PLEASE RECONSIDER OPENING AN INVESTIGATION. NOT MANY PEOPLE HAVE $1400 TO PUT DOWN ON A "SEAT" ISSUE THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER IN THE FIRST PLACE. THANKS! *JS
MY POWER STEERING PUMP HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND THE HOSE HAS A HOLE IN IT. THE LEAK HAS CAUSE A BELT TO POP WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED UNTIL THE TRUCK BATTERY KILLED OVER AND A MECHANIC HELPED ME WHILE THE VEHICLE DISABLED. I ALSO KNOW OF THREE OTHER NISSAN MURANO OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. TWO OF THEM HAVE PAID A LARGE AMOUT TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND THE OTHER TRADED IN THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A DEFECT WITH MURANO AND I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE AND NOTICED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR
SEAT WELDING BROKEN. SEAT LEANS TO THE LEFT AND WILL NOT MOVE. NISSAN SAYS I NEED TO REPLACE SEAT FOR $1200. *TR
THE DRIVERS SEAT BECAME LOOSE AROUND THE LEFT REAR FLOOR AREA OF THE SEAT FRAME. THE SEAT MOTORS STILL WORKED BUT THE SEAT MOVEMENT WAS ROUGH AND SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS GRINDING WHEN ENGAGED. A NISSAN DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY AT A COST OF $946.00. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RAIL THAT ALLOWED SEAT TO BE ADJUSTED ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT WAS FRACTURED, CAUSING THE SEAT TO ABNORMALLY TILT TO THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WHICH NEEDED REPLACEMENT AND WELDING TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE DEFECT HOWEVER NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 116,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
THE BRACKET UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT BROKE AS I WAS TURNING A CORNER. THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT DROPPED SEVERAL INCHES AND NEARLY CAUSED ME TO GO OFF THE ROAD. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND AFTER DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE FOR NISSAN. IT SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A RECALL AS IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
[XXX] DRIVER SEAT BROKE FROM SHAFT, SEAT LEANS BACK, WENT TO NISSAN DEALER WAS ADVISED IT WOULD COST $1500, CHECKED AROUND JUNK YARDS UNABLE LOCATE COLOR, AND THE SEAT WAS IN NEW JERSEY. I WAS UNEMPLOYED AT THE TIME COULD NOT AFFORD REPAIR, MY HUSBAND CUT A 4X4 BLOCK TO PUT UNDER THE BACK PART OF THE SEAT, ONLY HAD 32,000 MILES, MAY 2012. I DID NOT CRASH BUT HAD A BIG JERK AND SWERVED TO THE LEFT OF THE ROAD. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
VEHICLE HAS PROBLEMS WITH ACCELATION BETWEEN 40MPH AND OVER. WAS TOLD IT THAT THE CVT TRANMISSION WAS BAD AND HAD TRANSMISSION REPLACE AND NOW JUST AFTER PICKING UP VEHICLE AND DRIVING HOME, VEHICLE IS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
THE BRACKET HOLDING THE DRIVER SEAT UP BROKE WHILE SITTING IN A PARKING LOT. IT MADE A SNAPPING SOUND AND LURCHED DOWN IN THE REAR AND TO THE LEFT, CAUSING ME TO LEAN INTO THE DOOR. NOW THE SEAT ROCKS BACK AND FORTH WHILE I DRIVE/ACCELERATE/DECELERATE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE PART OF THE BRACKET THAT BROKE WAS A POORLY DESIGNED V SHAPED PUNCHED METAL LINK WHICH DEVELOPED STRESS FRACTURES AT THE WEAK POINTS. WITH VERY LITTLE RESEARCH, THIS APPEARS TO BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH MURANOS '03-'08, AND IS ADDRESSED UNDER A TSB, HOWEVER A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND COMBINED WITH OTHER DEFECTIVE ISSUES SUCH AS A LEAKING STEERING RACK AND DRIVER VISOR WHICH REFUSES TO STAY UP, I AM NOT LIKELY TO EVER OWN A NISSAN AGAIN. *TR

THE FUEL PUMPS SHUTS OF WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING CAUSING THE CAR TO SHUT OFF MY MOTHER DRIVES THIS CAR AND I GOT IT WITH 20,000 MILES AND SO FAR I HAD TO REPLACE THE HI POWER STEERING LINE 250.00 THE SUN VISORS 400.00 AT NISSAN AND KNOW THE FUEL PUMP I HAVEN'T EVEN GOT THE PRICE ON THIS YET BUT I FEEL THAT NISSAN ARE SELLING CRAP FOR CARS I HAVE 2 NISSAN ALSO A 2007 ALTIMA GOT BRAND NEW AND THAT AT 300 MILES I STARTED HAVING ISSUE AND NISSAN STILL HAS NOT FIXED ANY ISSUE THAT STATED THEY DON'T FIND ANY ISSUES I THINK NISSAN SHOULD BE PAYING FOR THIS REPAIR AS IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND IT CAN CAUSE A PERSON TO SHUT OFF WILE DRIVING AND CAUSE A CRASH. *TR
THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER SEAT SOMEHOW BROKE UNDER NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THE SEAT LEANS TO THE LEFT SIDE AND WOBBLES TO THE FRONT AND BACK. THEREFORE HAVING TO ACCELERATE, DECELERATE, TURN CORNERS AND GO OVER ROUGH ROAD CAUSES THE SEAT TO MOVE ALL OVER THE PLACE. I BELIEVE THIS CAUSES A SAFETY ISSUE WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE. THIS IS A NISSAN DESIGN FLAW THAT SHOULD BE ON A RECALL NOTICE AND CORRECTED BY NISSAN FREE OF CHARGE TO THE CONSUMER. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS SEAT AND FOR MANY, THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE SOME OUTRAGEOUS PRICE TO GET THE PROBLEM CORRECTED. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR WHICH FLOPS DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. WHEN RETURNED TO IT'S NORMAL PLACE, IT WILL FALL DOWN. THIS CAUSES ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE. THE VISIBILITY IS COMPROMISED AND AN ACCIDENT COULD VERY WELL OCCUR. PLEASE ADDRESS THESE DESIGN FLAWS FOR RECALLS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY REPLACED THE VISOR UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY EIGHT MONTHS LATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME BROKE IN 2 SPOTS. METAL FATIGUE LIKELY CAUSE ON THIS CRITICAL COMPONENT. *TR
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR IN MY NISSAN MURANO. IT WILL JUST DROP DOWN SUDDENLY. AT FIRST I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VISOR DOWN AND MOVE IT FORWARD TO HELP PROTECT MY EYES FROM THE SUN. BUT THAT DIDN'T LAST LONG SINCE IT WILL JUST FALL STRAIGHT DOWN AND BLOCK MY VIEW. WHEN IT FALLS I CAN NOT SEE THE CARS IN FRONT OF ME. I AM NOT A TALL PERSON BUT I WOULD HAVE TO BE EXTREMELY SMALL TO SEE UNDER THE VISOR WHEN IT FALLS IN STRAIGHT DOWN POSITION. THE OTHER DAY, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND MY SUN VISOR SUDDENLY DROPPED STRAIGHT DOWN .IT REALLY STARTLED ME CAUSE I LOST VISIBILITY. I SCREAMED CAUSE I COULD NOT SEE THE CARS IN FRONT OF ME LIKE I MENTIONED EARLIER. AS QUICKLY AS I COULD I LIFTED THE VISOR AND HELD IT IN PLACE AND CONTINUED BY JOURNEY. IT WAS PRETTY NERVE WRACKING. I COULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT AND INJURED MY PASSENGERS, MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS. AND WITH TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEED IT'S WAS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. MY DEALER SAID THE COST TO REPAIR WOULD BE AROUND $500. I FEEL NISSAN SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS AND ISSUE A RECALL BUT I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY YET. RECENTLY MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO STARTED MAKING GRINDING NOISES WHEN GOING UP HILLS AND TURNING CORNERS. AFTER TAKING IT TO A FEW SHOPS WHO SAID IT MIGHT BE THE CVT TRANSMISSION THAT WAS COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY SINCE SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD ISSUES, I WENT AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEIR DIAGNOSIS WAS A ELECTRONIC COUPLER ASSEMBLY FAILURE WHICH HAS TO DO WITH MY REAR DIFFERENTIAL. THE CAR IS NOT BALANCING THE LOAD PROPERLY AND THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. THERE IS A 2 MONTH WAITING LIST FOR THIS PART BECAUSE IT HAS GONE BAD IN SO MANY NISSAN VEHICLES. YET THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL AND NO EXTENDED WARRANTY PUT ON IT. THE VEHICLE IS SAID TO BE RELATIVELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE BUT THEY ARE MONTHS OUT ON GETTING PARTS IN FOR IT TO BE FIXED. *JS
WHILE LEAVING THE PARKING LOT OF A STORE, I HEARD A POP AND MY SEAT IMMEDIATELY WENT TO THE LEFT AND ROCKED BACKWARD. AT ONE POINT I HAD TO MAKE AN ABRUPT STOP, THE CAR LUNGED AND WITH GRAVITY MY SEAT ROCKED BACKWARD DECREASING THE PRESSURE OF MY FOOT ON THE BREAK. I HAVE TO HOLD MYSELF UP ON THE STEERING WHILE DRIVING TO KEEP THE SEAT SOMEWHAT STABLE. IF I HAVE TO MANUEVER A DEEP CURVE EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT IT IS DIFFICULT TO HANDLE THE VEHICLE WHILE BRACING MYSELF TO KEEP THE SEAT STILL. I HAVE SEEN SOME OF THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SEAT ISSUE. THERE IS ALSO EVIDENCE IN THE COMPLAINTS THAT A NISSAN MECHANIC ADMITTED THAT THIS WAS A DESIGN FLAW. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIRS AND THEY EVEN ADMITTED THAT THIS WAS A DESIGN FLAW AND SAFETY HAZARD. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE AND AS WELL AS THE PUBLIC SAFETY.

ON MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO S THE SEAT WAS LOOSE WHEN I GOT INTO THE CAR. IT APPEARS A METAL BRACKET BROKE ABOUT THE CONNECTION POINT TO THE SEAT . THIS LITTLE PIECE OF METAL L-BRACKET HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ABILITY FOR THE SEAT TO RISE AND LOWER. SINCE IT HAS 49,000 MILES ON IT, NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS DOESN'T COVER IT BECAUSE THEY SAY THE SEAT BRACKET IS NOT A SAFETY ITEM. I NOW HAVE A SEAT THAT ROCKS AND MOVES AROUND WHILE DRIVING/TURNING. I CALLED THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER, THEY TOLD ME THEY HAVE SEEN THIS SEVERAL TIMES. IT SEEMS THE SEAT CAN BE FIXED FOR A MERE $1300. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ANY CARS FOREIGN OR DOMESTIC IN OVER 40 YEARS OF OWNING A CAR. I CAN'T THINK OF ANY PART FAILURES WHERE THE MANUFACTURER WON'T ADMIT THEIR PART JUST MIGHT NOT BE DESIGNED FOR THE STRESSES IT IS SUPPOSED TO TAKE DURING NORMAL USAGE. FURTHER DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE BLOW OUT VICE SLOW BREAK IT HAPPENED QUICKLY AND IMMEDIATELY IMPACTED THE AMOUNT OF POWER STEERING FLUID AVAILABLE TO THE SYSTEM. NATURALLY, AS THERE WAS NO EXTENDED WARRANTY, NISSAN WOULD NOT COVER COST NOR CONSIDER A REDUCTION IN REPAIR/REPLACEMENT FEES. THIS IS A BIG-TIME HISTORICAL PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR MAKE AND YEAR OF THIS NISSAN. LOCAL DEALERSHIPS SAY THAT THEY REPLACE ABOUT TWO OF THESE PER WEEK ON AVERAGE, AND THE INTERNET IS FILLED WITH SIMILAR STORIES OF REPAIRS COSTING IN EXCESS OF $600. HEAD TECHNICIAN AT MOSSY NISSAN PAUL AND SERVICE MAN [XXX] CLAIMED IT WAS DUE TO A FAULTY WELDING JOB TO THE SEAT TRACK. REPAIR WAS MADE AUGUST 23RD DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS AND THE FACT THE CAR WAS INOPERABLE. MOSSY OFFERED A MORE COST EFFECTIVE REPAIR (ORIGINAL REPAIR ENTAILED REPLACING THE WHOLE DRIVERS SEAT TOTALING OVER $1,000 PLUS LABOR) BY OUTSOURCING TO A LOCAL WELDING SHOP FOR HALF THE PRICE AT $530. IT WAS ALSO NOTED THAT THIS PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED AT LEAST 3 TIMES TO THE SAME MODEL OF CAR IN RECENT YEARS. I DO NOT FEEL CONFIDENT OF WELDING JOB ON SAID VEHICLE DUE TO PAST REPAIR AT MOSSY NISSAN ON DECEMBER 26TH 2011 FOR REPLACEMENT OF REAR LOWER MOTOR MOUNT TOTALING $627.75. JUST MONTHS BEFORE THE NEXT WELDING REPAIR IN AUGUST 2012. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS A CONSUMER REPAIR FOR EITHER CASE AND I AM SEEKING THE FULL REFUND OF $530 AND $627.75 FOR SAID REPAIRS.
