TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING OUT OF HIS RESIDENTIAL GARAGE AND ENGAGING THE BRAKES, THE PEDAL WAS ABNORMALLY DEPRESSED INTO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED AGAINST A TREE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO FILED A REPORT ON THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,600...UPDATED 07/13/12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED AS HE WAS BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY INTO THE CIRCULAR END OF A CUL-DE-SAC ON LEVEL GROUND. HE APPLIED THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES WHILE KEEPING THE STEERING WHEEL HARD TO A HARD RIGHT. WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND, HE TURNED OFF THE IGNITION SWITCH, WHILE KEEPING HIS FOOT HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE COMPLETED AN ARC OF ABOUT 120 DEGREES BEFORE IT HIT A TREE AT THE END OF HIS NEIGHBORS DRIVEWAY AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. WHEN HE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND MOVED IT AWAY FROM THE TREE, THE BRAKES WORKED. UPDATED 07/31/12
THERE WAS A POP AND THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SEAT DROPPED DOWN SLIGHTLY. WHEN I TRIED TO ADJUST ONLY RIGHT SIDE OF THE SEAT WOULD MOVE UP OR DOWN. LOOKING ON THE INTERNET THIS SEAMS TO BE A BIG PROBLEM FOR NISSAN IN THESE MODEL YEARS. REFERENCE SERVICE BULLETIN BT05-12D NTB085-043D DATED DECEMBER 16, 2009. IF THE SEAT WAS TO FALL BACK IN WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *JS
SEAT LIFTER FAILED TO RAISE THE SEAT ON LEFT SIDE SIDE WHILE THE RIGHT SIDE WORKED. DEALER STATES THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE FOR THE MURANO (ALONG WITH SEAT RAILS BREAKING). THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS A DRIVER NEEDS THE SEAT TO BE THE RIGHT HEIGHT TO SEE OUT THE WINDOWS AND BE ABLE TO USE THE MIRRORS. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY A RECALL ON ALL AFFECTED NISSAN VEHICLES. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RAISE THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT AND NOTICED THAT ONLY PART OF THE SEAT WOULD RISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE SEAT HARNESS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
THE TRANSFER CASE IS LEAKING ON THE HOT EXHAUST PIPE. THERE IS COMMON FAILURE OF THE TRANSFER CASE SEALS IN ALL NISSAN MURANOS FROM 2004-2008...THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THIS PROBLEM AND QUICK SEARCH ON THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET PRODUCES A VAST NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS. THE TRANSFER CASE SEAL STARTS LEAKING ON ALL THESE MODELS AND THE TRANS-AXLE FLUID DRIPS ON THE VERY,VERY HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD PIPE JUST BELOW THE SEEM OF THE TRANSFER CASE WHERE IT MATES WITH THE CVT. THE CVT IS COVERED UNDER A 120,000 MILE WARRANTY BUT NISSAN CLAIMS THAT THE TRANSFER CASE PORTION IS NOT. REGARDLESS THE IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS IT COULD POTENTIALLY START A FIRE AND SUBSEQUENT LOSS OF THE VEHICLE, THE PROPERTY AROUND IT OR A LOSS OF LIFE FROM A FIRE. I WOULD APPRECIATE IF NHTSA WOULD INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE TO THE FULLEST. THERE ARE REPORTS THAT THE LOSS OF FLUID HAS CAUSED LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL....THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE....IN ADDITION THE COST OF REPAIRS EXCEEDS 3000.00 DOLLARS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 55 MPH WHEN HE HEARD SOMETHING CRACK UNDERNEATH THE DRIVERS SEAT. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE SEAT TO WOBBLE AND BECOME EXTREMELY UNSTABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
AT SPEEDS FROM 15 MPH AND UP TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS DRIVER SUN VISOR IS DROPPING DOWN ON MINOR BUMPS ON THE ROAD COVERING DRIVER VISIBILTY. *TR
MY DRIVER SEAT IS WOBBLY . IT ROCKS. I DO NOT FREE SAFE. *TR
1. THIS IS SAFETY HAZARD AND MY BIGGEST CONCERN DRIVER SEAT, LEFT BRACKET BROKE. I WAS TOLD BY NISSAN DEALER THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM BUT NOT COVERED BY MY PLATINUM EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH I PURCHASED AT TEAM NISSAN IN OXNARD, CA I WAS ALSO TOLD THE ENTIRE SEAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE SEEN ONLINE THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PART BREAK. I WOULD HATE TO THINK ABOUT HOW THIS SEAT MIGHT BREAK COMPLETELY LOOSE IN A CRASH CAUSING THE DRIVER TO BE PROPELLED OUT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD & POSSIBLY KILLED. NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL & FIX THIS PART! 2. PASSENGER FRONT WINDOW GOES UP & DOWN RANDOMLY. .I HAVE TO KEEP THE WINDOWS LOCKED SO IT DOESN'T GO DOWN MAKING MY CAR VULNERABLE FOR THEFT BECAUSE MORE THAN A FEW TIMES I CAME OUT IN THE MORNING TO FIND IT DOWN. CAR STALLED 3 TIMES, ONCE IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION AND TWICE ON THE FREEWAY ALMOST GETTING INTO SEVERAL CAR ACCIDENTS DO TO INTAKE COMING APART. TOOK THE CAR TO DEALERS TO GET FIXED FOUND OUT THE CAR WAS A RECALL, WASN'T HAPPY ABOUT THAT. THE CAR SALESMEN DID NOT TELL ME IT WAS RECALLED. OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE RECONSIDERED GETTING THIS VEHICLE. *TR
SUN VISORS ON BOTH THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SIDE ARE LOOSE AND FALL DOWN WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO STAY UP. THIS PRESENTS VISIBILITY ISSUES AND ARE A SAFETY HAZARD. THIS IS HARDLY A NEW COMPLAINT, IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO NISSAN AND THEY SEEM UNWILLING TO FIX A SAFETY ISSUE THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR.
THE SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE WILL NOT STAY UP AND FALLS INTO THE LINE OF SIGHT WHILE DRIVING. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE VISOR FAILED TO STAY IN THE UP POSITION RESULTING IN POOR VISIBILITY. *JS
I WAS GETTING INTO THE VEHICLE WHEN I HEARD A LOUD CRACK AND THE DRIVERS SEAT STARTED TO WOBBLE. SURE ENOUGH LIKE DOZENS OF OTHER "VICTIMS" THE FRONT BRACKET CONNECTING THE SEAT TO THE FRAME SNAPPED. THANK GOODNESS I WAS PARKED WHEN THIS HAPPENED. LUCKILY. I WAS ABLE TO HAVE THE DEALERSHIP WELD THE SEAT FRAME TOGETHER, BUT THEY ADMIT IT PROBABLY WILL NOT HOLD FOR LONG. NISSAN IS WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT EXCEPT FORCE THEIR CUSTOMERS TO PAY $1000 OR MORE TO HAVE THE SEAT REPLACED. THEY CLAIM IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, SO UNFORTUNATELY I GUESS IT WILL TAKE SOMEONE GETTING KILLED AND THE SUBSEQUENT LAWSUIT TO GET THEIR ATTENTION. POOR DESIGN ON SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT WEAR OUT OVER THE LIFE OF THE CAR AND WORSE YET IS THE MANUFACTURER'S ATTITUDE TOWARD THEIR CUSTOMER BASE FOR A KNOWN AND WELL DOCUMENTED FLAW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AND CRASHED INTO AN ELECTRICAL POLE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT SUSTAINED A BACK AND NECK SPRAIN AS WELL AS SEVERE PAIN TO HER ENTIRE BODY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AN AUTO BODY SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 20 MPH WHEN THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT FRACTURED FROM THE TRACK. THE CONTACT HAD TO HOLD HERSELF UP WITH THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE CAREFULLY MANEUVERING OFF THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE LINK ASSEMBLY AND THE MOTOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 64,453.
THERE IS A LOCAL USED AUTO DEALER SELLING THIS MURANO AND HAS SOLD ANOTHER ONE YESTERDAY A 2005 WITH THE SAME DIAGONAL TILTING DRIVERS SEAT ISSUE THAT IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AND THE COST WHEN A DEALER LOOKED AT IT AND SAID THAT THE LIFTER LINK SLIDE ASSEMBLY WAS BROKEN WAS $600 TO FIX. HE ALSO STATED THERE HAS BEEN A SERVICE BULLETIN OPEN FOR YEARS ON THE MURANO IN GENERAL FOR THIS ISSUE. THE LOCAL DEALER TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NORMAL AND HAS SOLD MANY WITH THIS SAME ISSUE USED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ENTERING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS NOT ATTACHED TO THE FRAME. THE SEAT BRACKET WAS ALSO FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
DRIVER'S SIDE POWER SEAT WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARD ANYMORE. IT IS STUCK AT THE FAR BACK POSITION. NISSAN SAYS THAT THE PART REPLACEMENT WOULD COST AROUND $1000 PLUS LABOR. THIS IS NOT A PART THAT IS SUPPOSED TO WEAR OUT AND TOO EXPENSIVE. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD NOT TO BE ABLE TO MOVE THE SEAT FORWARD, BUT I CAN'T AFFORD TO SPEND $1300 TO FIX THIS ISSUE. FROM A FORUM ONLINE, IT APPEARS THAT MANY, MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN MURANO DRIVER'S SEAT AND NISSAN IS REFUSING TO ACCEPT THIS AS A DESIGN FLAW AND FIX THEM. *TR
AS WITH ALL OF THE OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE SEATS, IT APPEARS THAT MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. IT ROCKS BACK AND FORTH AND I CAN SEE THAT THE BRACKET HAS SNAPPED. NISSAN NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THERE WASN'T AN ACCIDENT THAT CAUSED THIS AND I'M NOT OBESE. I'M SURE IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT THIS PROBLEM WOULD RENDER THE AIRBAGS AS INEFFECTIVE. I WAS DRIVING AND GOING AROUND A TURN WHEN I NOTICED IT ROCKING. I DO KNOW IF I HAD TO STOP ABRUPTLY I'D PROBABLY END UP THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. I DON'T THINK CONSUMERS SHOULD BEAR THE COST OF $1500 FOR A SEAT ONLY TO HAVE IT HAPPEN AGAIN IN ANOTHER 4 YEARS WHICH IS HOW LONG I'VE OWNED THE CAR. *TR *JS

THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BEGAN TO ROCK SIDE TO SIDE. THERE WAS NOT ACCIDENT OR ANY THING. IT WAS FINE ON THE WAY TO THE STORE BUT GETTING BACK INTO THE SEAT WHEN LEAVING THE STORE WE NOTICED THE ROCKING OF THE SEAT. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE SHOP THAT NIGHT WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE SEAT FRAME WAS BROKEN. THE WELD HAD FAILED. AFTER TALKING WITH THE MECHANIC WE WERE INFORMED THAT THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM. A VERY EXPENSIVE PROBLEM THAT CAN HURT PEOPLE. IF NOT FIXED THIS COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURIES IN AN ACCIDENT. WHY IS NISSAN NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THIS COMMON PROBLEM THAT CAN HARM THEIR CUSTOMERS? *TR

I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH AND HEARD A POPPING SOUND. MY SEAT MOVED AND THEN IT STARTED ROCKING. IT SCARED ME SO BAD THAT I PULLED OFF THE ROAD TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED. I COULD TELL THAT SOMETHING SERIOUS HAD BROKEN AND DROVE BACK HOME TO FIND THAT THE WELD HAD COME APART. I FELT LIKE I WAS DRIVING, SITTING IN A ROCKING CHAIR. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE FIXED AND PAID FOR BY NISSAN. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE THAT THE SEAT BROKE LIKE THIS. WE HAVE HAD SOME OF OUR CARS AND TRUCKS OVER 15 YEARS! IF THIS IS NOT A RECALL PROBLEM THEN NISSAN HAS LOST ME AND MY FAMILY AS CUSTOMERS FOR LIFE. *TR
UPON ENTERING MY MURANO AND BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY THERE WAS A LOUD SNAP. THE SEAT BEGAN TO TILT. DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE SEAT HAD SHEARED OFF AND THE ONLY FIX WAS TO REPLACE THE SEAT TO THE COST OF ABOUT $1500. I AM VERY GLAD I WASN'T TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED WHEN THIS OCCURRED. IT SEEMS RIDICULOUS THAT A 4 YEAR OLD CAR WOULD HAVE METAL UNDERNEATH A SEAT BREAKING UNLESS IT WAS BEING PUT UNDER TREMENDOUS WEIGHT. AS AN AVERAGE SIZED PERSON THIS SEEMS COMPLETELY THE FAULT OF THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
DRVER SIDE SUN VISOR DROPS SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING OBSTRUCTING VIEW. IT DROPS AGAIN EVERY TIME I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE THAT SHE COULD NOT DISTINGUISH AND DROVE THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A FRACTURED REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND STATED THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER FAILED TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE EITHER BECAUSE THERE WERE NO RECALLS ADDRESSING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING REPAIRS AT A PRIVATE FACILITY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 75,000.
DRIVER SEAT REAR STRUCTURE BROKE, SEAT UNHINGED FROM BASE, LEAVING CHAIR ROCKING AS I DRIVE OR TURN. *TR
WHILE STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN - GOING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH WE HEARD A LOUD CRACKING SOUND FROM THE DRIVER FRONT SEAT. UPON INSPECTION, WE NOTICED THAT THE RIVET THAT HOLDS THE SEAT ON THE SEAT RAIL COMPLETELY SNAPPED OFF. THIS IS FAULTY WORKMANSHIP OR INFERIOR PRODUCTS IN MY MIND AS I'VE HAD A TOYOTA AND FORD IN THE PAST AND NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE SEATS. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRACK FOR THE SEAT FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AGAIN. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRACK FOR THE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
SEAT MOTOR TWISTED SEAT CLOCKWISE WHILE MOVING MAKING THE PEDALS UNREACHABLE BY WIFE. SEAT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED FRONT AND BACK NOW AND ONLY TWISTS AS THERE IS NO MOVEMENT ON RIGHT SIDE OF SEAT. *TR
FIRST NOTICED IT KEPT POPPING OUT OF ALL WHEEL DRIVE IN A SNOW STORM WHILE DRIVING 15 MPR. NEXT ISSUE WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65RPM THE SPEED KEPT DECELLERATING OR STICKING LIKE IT HAD A GOVANOR ON IT AT 65. NOW I CAN NOT DRIVE IT FOR MORE THEN TWENTY MINUTES WITHOUT IT DECELLERATING. IT WON'T SHIFT JUST STICKS AT 3RPM AND THE SPEED WILL NOT INCREASE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES. FIRST TIME THEY SAID IT WAS A BAD BATTERY. SECOND TIME THEY HOOKED IT UP TO CHECK ENGINE MACHINE. IT DID NOT THROW A CODE SO THEY SAID IT WAS SAFT TO DRIVE. COMING DOWN A MOUNTAIN IT STARTED BUCKING AND SPEED DECELLERATED VERY QUICKLY. THANKFULLY I WAS NOT HIT FROM BEHIND. SEEMS LIKE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM TO ME BUT HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING NISSIAN TO REPLACE IT. VERY SCARY AND UNSAFE. *TR

THE POWER STEERING HOSE SPRUNG A LEAK CAUSING THE STEERING TO GO OUT. *TR
I FIRST NOTICED A "BURNING RUBBER SMELL" THAT MECHANICS COULD NOT DUPLICATE. AT ABOUT 80,000 MILES THE CAR BEGAN TO LOSE POWER WHEN I WOULD ACCELERATE. I BEGAN HEARING A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE THAT TO ME (A TOTAL CAR NOVICE) SOUNDED LIKE BELTS. BECAUSE OF THE POWER SURGES PROBLEMS AND NOT CHANGING GEARS (RPMS WERE LOW WHEN I ACCELERATE) I HAVE BEEN AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. APPARENTLY IT IS A "TRANSFER CASE" DEFECT THAT THEY ARE GOING TO REPAIR AT A HUGE EXPENSE TO ME. AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET FOR THIS PROBLEM WITH OTHER MURANO OWNERS, I WAS SHOCKED AT THE NUMBER OF MURANO TRANSFER CASE PROBLEMS THERE ARE OUT THERE. I HAVE DEFINITELY LOST MY CONFIDENCE IN NISSANS BECAUSE OF THIS. *TR
THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY FOUR YEARS OLD WITH ONLY 84000 MILES, WHILE DRIVING I HEARD A LOUD SOUND COMING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO FIVE TOWNS NISSAN THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM, MY TRANSFER CASE IS NOT GOOD. THE TRANSFER CASE, SEAL-OIL AND SEAL- OIL RING WOULD BE $2750.82. LABOR AND TAX WOULD BE BRING IT TO $4074.33. NOW WE ALL KNOW OWNERS OF THIS VERY CUTE VEHICLE THAT IT HAS A FACTORY DEFECT AND WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF TO COME FORTH SO THE WOULD HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES. *TR

THE DOOR LOCK ON THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR MAY OR MAY NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH THE KEY REMOTE OR THE DOOR LOCK BUTTONS ON THE OUTSIDE LATCH AND INSIDE DOOR. THIS BECOMES A SAFETY ISSUE WHILE DRIVING, AS I LIKE TO KEEP MY DOORS LOCKED IN THE EVENT OF AN ATTEMPTED CARJACKING. *TR

BEING UNABLE TO OPEN THE RIGHT FRONT DOOR WITHOUT LEANING OVER FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT OR USING THE KEY CAN MAKE IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO ENTER OR EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. HAVING RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE, THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE NISSAN AND INFINITY SUVS. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THE AVAILABILITY OF THE REPLACEMENT PARTS BEING INSTOCK AT THE DEALERSHIPS. NISSAN NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SAFETY OF OWNERS AND USERS OF THEIR PRODUCTS. THERE SHOULD BE A NOTICE SENT TO THEIR DEALERS AND, WHEN THE LOCKING MECHANISM FAILS, NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BY NISSAN AT THEIR EXPENSE. *TR

THIS IS A 2007 MURANO PURCHASED NEW IN 2008. ON SEPTEMBER 12, WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED (25 MPH) THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR LOST ITS GRIP AND FELL TO A HANGING POSITION. THIS IS A HAZARD AS IT IMPAIRS VISIBILITY. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE NISSAN FORUMS AND FOUND OUT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH MURANOS DATING BACK TO 2004. HOWEVER, DESPITE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS, I HAVE NOT SEEN THAT A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED. IT IS VERY DISTURBING THAT THE PART/REPAIR IS REALLY EXPENSIVE. *TR

WHEN I INITIALLY PURCHASED MY 2007 MURANO, THE DRIVER-SIDE ELECTRIC SEAT WOULD ROCK SLIGHTLY WHEN LEANING FORWARD OR BACK. RECENTLY THE FRAME CONNECTING THE FRONT OF THE SEAT (JUST UNDER THE CUSHION) TO THE FLOOR FRAME SNAPPED AND CAUSED THE ENTIRE SEAT TO FOLD BACKWARDS. LUCKILY I HAD JUST PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND WAS ABLE TO STEP ON THE BRAKE AND PUT IT IN PARK BEFORE I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. UPON EXAMINATION, THE FRAME NECESSARY TO SECURE THE SEAT TO THE FLOOR WAS WOEFULLY INADEQUATE. I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND HAVE FOUND MANY OTHERS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
THE DRIVERSIDE SEAT BRACKET BROKE. THERE ARE FOUR MOUNTS ON THE DRIVERSIDE SEAT THAT HOLD THE POWERSEAT TO THE VEHICLE.THE LEFT REAR OF BRACKET OF THE SEAT BRACKET ESSENTIAL SNAPPED. THE DRIVER WEIGHS NO MORE THAN 190 POUNDS. THE OWNER WENT TO THREE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE, BUT NISSAN HAS DECLINED TO MAKE THE REPAIR. IF THE VEHICLE IS IN ACCIDENT THEN THERE IS A HIGH LIKELIHOOD THAT THE DRIVER WILL NOT BE HELD IN PLACE AS FORWARD MOMENTUM WILL FORCE THE DRIVER INTO THE STEERING WHEEL OR THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. *TR

THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR FALLS DOWN AND BLOCKS THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER. I USED TO KEEP MY SEAT UP HIGH BECAUSE I'M SHORT, AND IT HELPED ME HAVE A BETTER VIEW OF THE ROAD. I'VE LOWERED MY SEAT BECAUSE WHEN THE VISOR FALLS IT COMPLETELY BLOCKS MY VIEW. THE VISOR HAS STARTED FALLING AT LEAST ONCE EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. IT EVEN HAPPENS ON THE FREEWAY, WHERE THE ROAD IS SMOOTH. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS, WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE POWER STEERING HIGH PRESSURE HOSE WAS LEAKING POWER STEERING FLUID AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE DRIVER SIDE LEFT WELD BRACKET BROKE ON MY SEAT. I AM THE ONLY DRIVER OF THIS CAR AND I AM A FEMALE WEIGHING 140 POUNDS. I DON'T THINK THAT IS AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT FOR A SEAT TO HOLD. THIS HAS CREATED A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD FOR ME... AND IT'S GOING TO COST ME AROUND $1200 TO FIX. THIS DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT TO ME... I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT NISSAN MADE A QUALITY VEHICLE THAT WAS BUILT TO LAST AND SAFE, BUT WHAT KIND OF VEHICLE IS SAFE THAT CAN'T SAFELY HOLD A 140 POUND FEMALE INTO HER SEAT???
