I PURCHASED MY 2007 MURANO IN AUGUST 2011. FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE, I'VE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN A CONSTANT ISSUE, I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT STRUTS (BEFORE 60,000 MILES) AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO REPLACE THE REAR SHOCKS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR IS BROKEN, 2 MONTHS AGO IT BEGAN LEAKING OIL FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON, AND NOW THE FRONT SEAT IS BROKEN, CAUSING THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE SEAT TO 'FLOAT'. I WEIGH 140 LBS SO IT'S NOT LIKE I'VE CAUSED ANY UNDUE STRESS ON THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 70,000 MILES. I CANNOT AFFORD TO MAKE ALL THE REPAIRS - BUT CANNOT SELL IT UNTIL I DO MAKE THEM (WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WANTS TO PURCHASE A CAR THAT NEEDS $2500 POURED INTO IT FOR REPAIRS, WITH NEW ISSUES OCCURRING ON A REGULAR BASIS). IT'S A SHAME THAT NISSAN CAN PRODUCE SOMETHING OF SUCH POOR QUALITY AND NOT BE FORCED TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. THIS IS THE WORST CAR I'VE EVER OWNED. IF I CAN EVER GET RID OF THIS IT I'LL NEVER OWN ANOTHER NISSAN. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY MURANO TODAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THEN MY SEAT BEGAN TO ROCK. THE LEFT FRAME ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAD BROKEN AND I DID NOT THINK THIS WAS POSSIBLE. I SEE FROM THIS WEBSITE THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER MURANO DRIVERS OUT THERE THAT THIS IS HAPPENED TO AND THAT THEY HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN AND THEY DIDNT CARE! THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES AND IT THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED! THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND NISSAN SHOULD BE ASHAMED! THEY ARE PUTTING OUR LIVES AND OTHERS ARE RISK! HEAVEN FORBID THAT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE FRAME GO. I AM CALLING NISSAN TOMORROW! THERE SHOULD BE A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THEM! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN AGAIN! DRIVER'S SUN VISOR DROPS UNEXPECTEDLY--SEVERELY INTERFERES WITH ABILITY TO SEE OUT FRONT WINDOW. *TR
AFTER I BOUGHT MY 2007 MURANO FROM A REPUTABLE DEALER, MY AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN TO HAVE THEM TELL ME WHAT IT WAS. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION AND DIAGNOSTIC MODULE NEEDED REPLACED. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST ME ALMOST $3000.00 TO FIX THE AIRBAG SENSOR. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE MANY, MANY OTHERS THAT HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM BUT I AM WONDERING WHY THE 07 AND 08 MODEL YEAR MURANOS WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THIS IS HOW THE INITIAL RECALL LOOKS INCLUDING THE 07, 08, AND 09 MURANOS- VEHICLE MAKE / MODEL: MODEL YEAR(S): INFINITI / EX35 2008 INFINITI / G35 2007-2008 INFINITI / G37 2008 NISSAN / 350Z 2007-2008 NISSAN / ALTIMA 2007-2008 NISSAN / ALTIMA HYBRID 2007-2008 NISSAN / MURANO 2007-2009 NISSAN / ROGUE 2008 FOLLOWED BY THE SUMMARY OF THE RECALL THAT EXPLAINS THE EXACT PROBLEM BUT EXCLUDES THE 2007-2008 MURANO MODELS. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO GET NISSAN TO EXTEND THE RECALL FOR THE REST OF US THAT GOT LEFT OUT OF THE RECALL PROCESS. THE SAME SYSTEM WAS USED IN THE 2007-2008 MURANOS BUT NOT SURE HOW THEY WERE LEFT OUT.??? *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I SUDDENLY NOTICED MY STEERING WHEEL WAS UPSIDE DOWN. LUCKILY, I COULD STILL STEER AND I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE I HAD PURCHASED THE CAR AND AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. I HAD NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY KIND OF ACCIDENT, BUT IN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED I THOUGHT I MIGHT HAVE GONE OVER A CURB WHILE TURNING RIGHT AND IT MAY HAVE JARRED SOMETHING. THE DEALER LATCHED ONTO THIS THOUGHT AND SAID I BROKE THE STEERING COLUMN WHEN I WENT OVER THE CURB. THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR, DESPITE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I JUST DON'T BELIEVE IT. HOW COULD GOING UP ON A CURB AND DROPPING DOWN--FROM A STOP--BREAK THE STEERING COLUMN? THE DEALER SAID I NEED TO "REPLACE THE STEERING RACK AND REPLACE THE CABLE REEL." MY INSURANCE PAID ANOTHER COMPANY FOR REPAIRS AND THEY REPLACED THE "GEAR ASSEMBLY." SINCE I DON'T KNOW WHAT ANY OF THIS MEANS, I AM WRITING THE INVOICE'S DIRECT QUOTES. I REALLY BELIEVE THERE IS/WAS A DEFECT IN THE CAR. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM? *TR
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON CONSTANTLY SO TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC WHO TELLS ME THAT NISSAN HAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH ITS FUEL SENSORS FOR YEARS AND YEARS ON MANY OF ITS MODELS AND HAS IGNORED IT. NOW I'M REQUIRED TO MAKE THE REPAIRS ON A FAULTY PART TO THE TUNE OF $655 BECAUSE MY CAR WON'T PASS INSPECTION OTHERWISE. NISSAN HAS PUT OUT A SERVICE BULLETIN (NTB07-069A) FOR CODE P0463 BUT WON'T HELP AT ALL WITH THIS OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE REPAIR. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND MY WARRANTY DOESN'T COVER REPAIRS EITHER. FAULKNER NISSAN, HARRISBURG, PA SOUNDED LIKE I WAS THE 100TH PERSON CALLING ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEY WANTED NOTHING TO DO WITH ME. I AM SINGLE MOTHER, WORKING FULL TIME, SAVING TO SEND A DAUGHTER TO COLLEGE. I TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY NISSAN MURANO KNOWING IT IS VITAL TO MY ABILITY TO PROVIDE FOR MY FAMILY. I WILL NOW NEED TO BREAK THE LAW TO DRIVE IT TO GET TO WORK BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE $655 FOR THE REPAIRS. THIS IS DOWNRIGHT WRONG. NISSAN SHOULD STAND BY ITS PRODUCT AND FIX THIS ISSUE. PLEASE HELP. *TR
DRIVER SEAT IS BROKEN, SEAT IS ROCKING. NO WARNING THAT THE SEAT WOULD GIVE OUT. GOT IN MY CAR TO GO TO WORK AND NOTICED THAT THE SEAT WOULD MOVE. IT DOES NOT FEEL SAFE AT ALL. *TR

FAULTY SUN VISOR DROPS EASILY WHEN GOING OVER MINOR BUMP. IT CAN EASILY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR CRASH WHEN DISTRACTED TO RAISE THE SUN VISOR TO THE NORMAL POSITION. THIS IS A PROBLEM IN NISSAN MURANO'S EVERYWHERE. I AM NOT SURE HOW THIS HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL YET. *TR
THE DRIVERS SIDE VISOR SLOWLY STARTED DROPPING ON ITS OWN. MY VISOR WILL STAY UP SOMETIMES BUT GIVEN A LITTLE TIME IT WILL NEVER STAY UP. I READ OF THIS IN OTHER MODEL YEARS BUT NEVER EXPERIENCED IT IN MINE UNTIL THE LAST 4 MONTHS. AND NOW IT HAS GONE FROM AN ANNOYANCE TO A LIABILITY. IF I CRASH BECAUSE OF THIS I'M SUING THE HE'LL OUT OF NISSAN AS IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE AND THEY WON'T FIX IT. NEVER ENCOUNTERED A SIMILAR ISSUE IN THE 7 OTHER VEHICLES I'VE OWNED. *TR
THE DRIVER SEAT HAS COME DE-WELDED AND NOW THE SEAT ROCKS. *TR
MY WIFE GOT INTO THE CAR TO GO OUT AND HEARD A CRACK AND THE LEFT REAR SIDE SITTING DROPPED DOWN, TWISTING THE SEAT. *TR
SEAT FRAME PART FAILURE. AT FIRST THE SEAT LEANED THEN WITHIN A FEW DAYS BROKE. THIS MUST BE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF IT BREAKS WHILE DRIVING OR ACCIDENT OCCURS BEFORE SEAT IS FIXED. I SPOKE TO A FEW NISSAN DEALERSHIPS WHO WERE ALL FULLY AWARE AND HAVE SEEN THIS SAME BROKEN PART OFTEN. NISSAN DOES NOT COVER THIS PART. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED ASAP DUE TO THE SAFETY ISSUE. NISSAN SHOULD PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR WILL UNEXPECTEDLY DROP DOWN FROM THE HORIZONTAL POSITION WHEN VEHICLE GOES OVER MINOR BUMP IMPAIRING THE DRIVERS VISION. SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED LOSS OF VISIBILITY CAN RESULT IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT AS THE DRIVER IS UNABLE TO SEE IN FRONT OF THEM UNTIL THEY ARE ABLE TO PUSH THE VISOR BACK UP TO THE HORIZONTAL POSITION. *TR
WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS LESS THAN 30 DEGREES, IT APPEARS THAT THE PIPES/HOSES BY WHICH THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID CIRCULATES TO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD FREEZE. THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID IS FINE, BUT THE DRIVER CAN'T WASH THE WINDSHIELD BECAUSE THE WINDOW WASHER FLUID DOESN'T COME OUT. THIS PRESENTS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION WHEN IT SNOWS AND THE STREETS HAVE BEEN TREATED. THE SLUSH/DIRTY SNOW FLOATING FROM OTHER CARS STICKS TO THE WINDSHIELD, AND THE WINDSHIELD GLASS GETS VERY DIRTY TO THE POINT THAT THE DRIVER CAN'T SEE WHERE HE/SHE IS DRIVING. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN AND THEY RECOMMENDED TAKING THE CAR TO A GARAGE AND KEEPING IT RUNNING FOR TWO HOURS UNTIL THE PIPES THAW OUT. I DON'T HAVE A GARAGE, I AM AT WORK, AND I NEED TO DRIVE BACK HOME IN A SLUSHY SNOWY DAY, BUT I CAN'T WASH THE WINDSHIELD WITH THE WINDOW WIPERS BECAUSE THE FLUID IS NOT COMING OUT TO BE ABLE TO WASH IT. FRANKLY, I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE BACK HOME. THE PIPES NEED TWO HOURS TO THAW OUT. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE! MY RIDE TO WORK IS 30 MINUTES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME BRACKET FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE AND THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME BRACKET WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR STARTED FALLING DOWN, IMPAIRING SIGHT OF THE ROAD. AFTER ABOUT 1 MONTH OF FALLING, IT WOULD NO LONGER STAY UP AT ALL. I'VE HAD TO PULL OUT THE SIDE VISOR FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR TO 'PROP" THE DRIVERS SIDE UP. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR IS STARTING TO FALL. I'VE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE, BUT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO COMPLETELY REMOVE THE VISOR IF I AM TO SEE THE ROAD. *TR
REAR HATCH STOPPED WORKING. SINCE IT CAN ONLY BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE (WITH THE PANEL REMOVED) THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THERE IS NO HANDLE ON THIS YEAR MODEL THAT WILL WORK WITHOUT ELECTRICAL ASSISTANCE. WHEN THE OPEN BUTTON IS PUSHED (EITHER FROM INSIDE THE CAR OR ON THE KEY FOB) THERE IS NO SOUND INDICATING THAT THE REAR HATCH IS BEING CONTACTED AT ALL. WE HAVE TRIED REPLACING THE FUSE AND A CONTROL MODULE BUT NEITHER OF THOSE HAVE CORRECTED THE ISSUE. THERE ABSOLUTELY SHOULD BE A MANUAL LATCH ON THE REAR HATCH SO THAT IT CAN BE OPENED WITHOUT THE ASSISTANCE OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES AN HOUR WHEN I NOTICE THE ENGINE WAS REVVING AT A HIGHER SPEED WITH NO CHANGE IN ACCELERATION. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO BAY RIDGE NISSAN AND THEY REPLACED THE CVT TRANSMISSION FOR $500, EVEN I THOUGH I HAVE AN EXISTING WARRANTY. I HAVE CONTACT NISSAN CORPORATE AND I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM. I AM FILING A COMPLAINT BECAUSE A LOT OF NISSAN OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
PEDALS ON MY 2007 NISSAN MURANO ARE MOVING ON THEIR ON ACCORD. APPEARS TO BE DEFECTIVE WIRING. DEALER WANTS ME TO PAY $315 TO FIX. THEY HAD AGREED TWO YEARS AGO TO FIX THE PROBLEM WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND THEY NEVER DID. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
I GOT IN MY CAR AFTER WORK, STARTED DRIVING DOWN THE STREET, AND I HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND (LIKE A BAR IN THE SEAT BROKE/POPPED) FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT OF MY VEHICLE. RIGHT AFTERWARDS MY SEAT STARTED ROCKING AND LEANING TO THE LEFT. I PUSHED THE ELECTRICAL SEAT BUTTONS TO MAKE SURE THE POWER WAS STILL WORKING, BUT NOW THE SEAT IS ROCKING. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A TURN, THE DRIVER'S SEAT BRACKET FAILED CAUSING THE LEFT REAR OF THE SEAT TO DIP DOWN AND ROCK BACK AND FORTH. THE SEAT IS NOW UNSTABLE AND IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS THAT NHTSA AND NISSAN ARE AWARE THAT THESE SEATS ARE A PROBLEM AND THAT PREVIOUS CONCERNS AND REQUESTS FOR A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE HAVE FALLEN ON DEAF EARS. I THINK NISSAN SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND FIX THESE SEATS BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR EITHER ACCELERATED OR DECELERATED EVEN THOUGH I MAINTAINED STEADY PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL. I DID TAKE IT FOR REPAIR AT MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP. LUCKILY, I HAD PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WAS STILL WITHIN THE WARRANTY TIME FRAME. MY CAR WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP REPAIR SHOP FOR OVER 8 WEEKS. I WAS TOLD THAT 2 NEW TRANSMISSIONS WERE PLACED IN MY CAR AND THEN THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE WIRING HARNESS. ALTHOUGH IT WAS "FIXED" IT HAS NOT DRIVEN QUITE THE SAME. NOW I AM HEARING A STRANGE SOUND FROM MY ENGINE AND THINK I'M IN FOR ANOTHER ROUND OF REPAIRS. I AM OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD AND WANT TO KNOW IF NISSAN CORP. HAS ISSUED A RECALL. *TR
THE DRIVERS SEAT LEFT REAR FRAME CONNECTOR JUST BROKE. ITS A METAL PIECE THAT SUPPORTS THE WEIGHT OF THE SEAT AND CONNECT TO THE SEAT TRACK. NOW, MY SEAT WOBBLES LEFT AND RIGHT AND SOME FRONT TO BACK WITHOUT THE SUPPORT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE DRIVER SEAT BROKE CAUSING IT TO ROCK FROM SIDE TO SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THERE WAS NO RECALL AND TO REPAIR THE SEAT WOULD BE AT A COST TO HIM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO OFFERED TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE COST OF THE REPAIRS. ALSO, THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CONTACT NHTSA AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,125. UPDATED 01/15/13*LJ UPDATED 1/23/2013*JS
2007 NISSAN MURANO S SUN VISOR BOTH DRIVER AS WELL AS PASSENGER MAL-FUNCTION. I CHOOSE VISIBILITY/WIPER BECAUSE THE SUN VISOR OBSTRUCTS VISION (*VISIBILITY*) WHEN IT DROPS DOWN IN VIEW WHILE DRIVING AT NO GIVEN WARNING. ITS DANGEROUS AND WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IF THERE WAS A VEHICLE COMING FROM OPPOSITE DIRECTION AT THE TIME OF OCCURRENCE. THE COST OF THESE SUN VISORS ARE EXPENSIVE AND NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THESE OR AT LEAST FIX THEM AT NO COST. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE FROM UNDER THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT. IN ADDITION, THE SEAT WOULD ROCK SIDE TO SIDE TOWARDS THE DRIVER'S DOOR WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE LEFT REAR BRACKET ON THE SEAT WAS BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS SINCE BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
WHILE ADJUSTING THE DRIVERS SIDE POWER SEAT, SOMETHING IN THE POWER SEAT MECHANISM APPEARS TO HAVE BROKE AND THE SEAT IN NOW UNEVEN, AND FEELS LIKE IT IS COMING OFF THE RAILS ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING INTO A CURVE, WHERE YOU MUST HANG ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL FOR BALANCE WHICH CAUSES UNDUE ANXIETY FOR FEAR OF LOSING CONTROL. THE SEAT FEELS LIKE IT IS OFF THE RAILS, AND WHEN I USE THE POWER SEAT ADJUSTER, IT ONLY LIFTS ONE SIDE OF THE SEAT. THIS HAPPENED OVER 2 YEARS AGO AT ABOUT 45,0000 MILES. I NOW HAVE 70,000 MILES. I HAVE LEARNED IF YOU KEEP THE SEAT ADJUSTED SO THAT ITS CLOSEST TO THE FLOOR, THEN THERE IS LESS OF A FEELING THAT THE SEAT IS COMING OFF, THAN IF THE SEAT IS ADJUSTED TO A HIGHER POSITION. I HAVE CHOSEN NOT TO GET THIS REPAIRED SOLELY DUE TO THE $1,100 EXPENSE WHICH IT APPEARS TO COST TO REPAIR THIS SAFETY ISSUE. IT'S AN ANNOYING ISSUE, IT REMINDS ME OF THE FORD I HAD AS A TEENAGER THAT I HAD TO USE ROPE TO KEEP THE DRIVER DOOR SHUT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING HOME AFTER WORK ON THE INTERSTATE I HEARD A POP AND THE DRIVER SEAT COLLAPSED TOWARD THE DRIVER DOOR. AFTER ALMOST COLLIDING WITH A VEHICLE IN THE ADJACENT LANE I CAME TO A SAFE STOP ON THE SHOULDER AND INVESTIGATED THE DRIVER SEAT. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE SEAT 4-5 INCHES FORM THE LEFT REAR TOWARD THE RIGHT FRONT QUADRANT. I LOWERED THE SEAT WHICH TOOK SOME OF THE PLAY OUT OF THE SEAT AND FINISHED THE DRIVE HOME. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE METAL SEAT FRAME HAD BROKEN LOOSE AT TWO BRACKETS. I'M STILL RESEARCHING SAFE ALTERNATIVES TO FIX THE SEAT FRAME. THE NISSAN DEALER TOLD ME THEY HAD A TSB ON THE SEAT AND THE REPLACEMENT FRAME HAD THE SAME FATIGUE ISSUES. THIS KNOWN DEFICIENCY BY NISSAN IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR

STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT AND CAR WAS MAKING LOUD NOISE. I HAD NO STEERING FLUID LEFT AT ALL. THE REAR BRACKET ON THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT CRACKED. IT WAS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE REAR BRACKET. THIS CAUSED THE SEAT TO BE LOWER ON THAT SIDE. IT ALSO CAUSED THE SEAT TO ROCK BACK AND FORTH. *TR

THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON THIS VEHICLE BASED ON WHAT I'VE READ IN FORUMS. WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE, WITH MY VISOR PUSHED FORWARD TOWARD THE WINDSHIELD TO BLOCK THE SUN, THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR FALLS INTO MY LINE OF VISION. THIS CAUSES ME TO SWERVE WHILE ENTERING A CURVE AND JUST MISS ANOTHER VEHICLE. I QUICKLY PUSH UP THE VISOR AND TO MY DISMAY, IT WILL NOT STAY UPRIGHT; NEITHER UPRIGHT TOWARDS THE WINDSHIELD NOR UPRIGHT TOWARDS THE CEILING. THE DEALERSHIP STATES THIS IS NOT A RECALL AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. I HAVE LOOKED AT MULTIPLE THREADS AND SPOKEN WITH MULTIPLE FRIENDS WHO HAVE ALL HAD THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THE 1ST GENERATION NISSAN MURANOS (2003-2008). FIRST PROBLEM WAS THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR WHICH KEPT FLOPPING DOWN CAUSING A HAZARD BLOCKING THE DRIVER'S VISION. SECOND PROBLEM HAPPEN LATER, THE DRIVER SEAT BROKE WHILE DRIVING, LEFT REAR BRACKET BROKE. CALL AND WROTE TO NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD BOTH PROBLEMS WERE OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY WOULD NOT HONOR MY CLAIM. THIS IS THE THIRD NISSAN THAT I HAVE OWNED, AND WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN PRODUCT. FOR A VEHICLE THAT HAS LESS THAN 100K MILES TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS AND FOR NISSAN NOT TO COVER THE PROBLEM SHOWS A TRUE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. *TR

NOTICED FLUIDS ON GARAGE FLOOR UNDER MY NISSAN MURANO. UPON CHECKING FLUID LEVELS IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE POWER STEERING FLUID LEVELS THAT WERE LOW. FURTHER INVESTIGATION INDICATED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE WAS LEAKING. THIS HAS SEEMED TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN FLEET AS A WHOLE, BUT AS OF YET NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN INITIATED. I NOTICED POWER STEERING FLUID ON THE CONCRETE UNDER MY VEHICLE. A MECHANIC TOLD ME MY HOSE WAS LEAKING AND I FOUND OUT IT COST ABOUT $500.00 TO FIX. I CHECKED WITH NISSAN DEALER TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL. HE TOLD ME NO. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS DANGEROUS. THE FLUID IS ALL UNDERNEATH MY VEHICLE. THE FLUID COULD IGNITE BY HITTING THE EXHAUST PIPE OR ANYTHING HOT. *TR
NISSAN DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE TRANSFER CASE SEAL IS BROKEN AND NEEDS TO BE RESEALED. ONLY NISSAN HAS SERVICED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THIS SEEMS TO BE A NISSAN CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (CVT)-RELATED PROBLEM. THE CAR HAS 66,000 MILES ON IT, AND THE WARRANTY ON THE CVT WAS PREVIOUSLY DOUBLED TO 120,000 MILES. THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY WAS FOR 60,000 MILES. HOWEVER, NISSAN ALLEGES THAT THE TRANSFER CASE IS UNRELATED TO THE CVT AND THEREFORE, NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS SEEMS TO BE DISINGENUOUS, AT BEST. FROM POLLS AND THREADS I'VE SEEN, IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A FREQUENT PROBLEM IN MURANOS AND NISSAN IS ATTEMPTING TO PUT UP A WALL INSTEAD OF ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY. IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE DURATION OF THE MURANO LIFE CYCLE, ACROSS THE YEARS, AND AS IS SOMEWHAT TYPICAL OF POWERTRAIN PROBLEMS, THEY DON'T MANIFEST FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND MILES. THE THREADS INDICATE THAT RESEALING THE TRANSFER CASE (FOR AN EXORBITANT $1250) ONLY STAVES OFF THE FAILURE AND THAT IT OCCURS AGAIN. THIS RECURRING PROBLEM EVENTUALLY MANIFESTS IN FAILURE OF THE CVT ITSELF. IN THAT CASE IT COSTS IN THE RANGE OF $6500 TO REPAIR. THERE SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW HERE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. IF THE CVT SEIZES UP ON THE ROAD IT COULD CERTAINLY BE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. *JS

A LEAK DEVELOPED AND PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE. IT WAS DETERMINED IT WAS POWER STEERING FLUID. I PUT THE CAR ON THE LIFT AND IT LOOKED TO BE COMING FROM ONE OF THE HOSES. AFTER READING THESE PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS, I FIGURED IT PROBABLY WAS THE HIGH PRESSURE HOSE. INDEED IT WAS, THE REPAIR COST BEING $500. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND FILED A COMPLAINT. I DON'T EXPECT ANY COMPENSATION, AS THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE BASED ON HOW MUCH SERVICE I HAD DONE PREVIOUSLY AT THE DEALER. I DO MY OWN MAINTENANCE, OIL CHANGES (I ONLY USE MOBIL1), SO IT WOULD BE BASED ON WHATEVER PREVIOUS PROBLEMS I HAD THAT I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO RESOLVE. MY WIFE TOOK THE KIDS OUT OF THE CAR TO THE HOUSE AND RETURN TO PUT THE MURANO'07 INTO THE GARAGE. WHEN SHE SAT IN THE SEAT IT WAS LOOSE AND FELT THAT IT HAD BROKEN. SHE SAID IT FELT LOOSE WHEN SHE WENT TO PICK UP THE KIDS. I CHECKED THE SEAT AND IT WAS BROKEN ON THE BOTTOM BEAM THAT SUPPORTS THE CUSHION TO THE SEAT. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED JUST FROM SEATING IN THE SEAT. ALSO, TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE SEAT ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WHICH WILL COST ABOUT $1500.00. THIS IS AN OUTRAGEOUS PRICE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE NOT BROKEN FROM NORMAL USE. *JS

THE SEAT WOULD CONTINUOUSLY ROCK BACK AND FOURTH BETWEEN ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD NOT SELL JUST THE BRACKET SEPARATELY AND THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SEAT ASSEMBLY.
