THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR FALLS DOWN IN MY LINE OF VISION WHILE DRIVING, OFTEN. *TR
THE SEAT MOUNT FAILED ON MY 2007 NISSAN MURANO. IN REVIEWING THE DAMAGE, I DISCOVERED THAT THE MOUNT IS A THIN STRIP OF INFERIOR METAL. IN EXPLORING OPTIONS TO FIX THE SEAT I WENT TO THE DEALER, WHO SAID A REPAIR WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $1,500. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A MAINTENANCE ISSUE AND IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. IN REVIEWING THE DATABASE THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL INVESTIGATIONS BUT WITH NO RECOMMENDATIONS. PLEASE HELP. *TR
THIS IS ANOTHER COMPLAINT ABOUT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR THAT DROPS DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY. MY DAUGHTER, WHO IS JUST LEARNING TO DRIVE, ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE SHE WAS STARTLED WHEN IT DROPPED DOWN. THE COST TO REPLACE IS OVER $300 SO WE ARE TRYING WAYS TO KEEP IT FROM DROPPING DOWN. DRIVER'S SIDE SUNVISOR IN 2007 NISSAN MURANO UNEXPECTEDLY DROPS FROM STOWED (UP) POSITION INTO LINE OF SIGHT. *TR
I AM FILING A COMPLAINT ON THE SUN VISOR. BOTH OF THE VISORS, DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE WOULD NOT STAY UP, FLOPPED DOWN, DUE TO HOW OUTRAGEOUS THE PRICES ARE, I HAVE BEEN VELCRO/HOT GLUING IT TO KEEP IT UP. IT HAS BEEN OVER TWO YEARS AND I JUST NOW SUCCUMBED TO PURCHASING NEW VISORS. IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT A CONSUMER HAS TO PAY $386.63 FOR PARTS THAT IS CLEARLY A DEFECT FROM NISSAN. SAFETY ISSUE WISE, OUR HEAD HITS THE VISORS AS IT WOULD NOT STAY UP. NISSAN REALLY NEED TO HAVE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE AND FIX/REPAY WHAT WE HAVE PURCHASED. FRONT SEAT IN THE 2007 NISSAN MURANO IS OFF IT'S BRACKET, CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY OVER 2,000 TO GET IT FIXED. THE WHOLE FRAME IS BROKEN AND IT SHAKES WHEN I SIT IN THE CAR. THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 60K ON IT. *LN
I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN MURANO S MODEL WITH A BROKEN SEAT LINKAGE BRACKET ON THE LOWER LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SEAT. I WAS 3 MONTHS OUT OF MY WARRANTY WITH ONLY 25K MILES, THE VEHICLE IS MODERATELY USED AND IT'S A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. MY SEAT NO LONGER STAYS UPRIGHT AND WILL ROCK ON THE LEFT SIDE. *TR
DRIVER'S LEFT REAR SEAT ATTACHMENT POINT GAVE WAY DURING A SHIFT IN BODY WEIGHT. THIS CREATED A FLOATING TYPE CONDITION AS THE LEFT REAR OF THE SEAT SHIFTED UP AND DOWN IN CORRELATION WITH THE VEHICLES MOVEMENTS/CG SHIFT. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER TO POINT OUT UNSAFE CONDITION AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY DESPITE THE VEHICLE BEING ONLY 3 YEARS OLD WITH LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
LEFT SIDE OF SEAT FRAME BROKE. DRIVERS SEAT. DEALER QUOTED $1250 TO REPAIR. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH LOOSE SEAT. *TR
THE DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME BROKE IN MY 2007 NISSAN MURANO. FORTUNATELY AT THE TIME MY SEAT SNAPPED I HAD PARKED MY CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY AND WAS GETTING OUT; HAD I BEEN GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT 65 MPH THE RESULT COULD'VE BEEN MUCH WORSE. AFTER A THOROUGH LOOK WE FOUND A METAL SUPPORT BRACKET ON THE BACK LEFT SIDE OF THE CHAIR SNAPPED IN TWO RESULTING IN A CHAIR THAT WAS UNSTABLE AND ROCKED. THIS PROBLEM IS WELL KNOWN TO NISSAN. A LOOK AT MURANO FORUMS WILL DEMONSTRATE THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND THE COST TO REPLACE OR REPAIR THE SEAT IS CONSIDERABLE. *TR
MY 2007 MURANO HAS A CRACKED SUPPORT BAR THAT ALLOWS THE SEAT TO ROCK BACK AND FORTH AS I DRIVE. THE COST ESTIMATE WAS OVER $1000. I HAVE DRIVEN OVER 1 MILLION MILES IN MY LIFE AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED A CRACKED SEAT (49,000 MILE ON THE CAR). *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. WHEN THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, SHE NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR WOULD SUDDENLY FALL AND DISTRACT HER VIEW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT HAD THE SUN VISOR REPLACED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 64000.

MY DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR DOES NOT STAY IN THE UP POSITION. IT DROOPS DOWN INTERMITTENT BLOCKING SIGHT OF VIEW. THIS IS DANGEROUS WHEN I DRIVE AT NIGHT TIME WHEN THE SUN VISOR IS IN THE DOWN POSITION ALL THE TIME. THIS IS ON A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. I WAS TOLD THAT THE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT WILL BE ~$500 AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER FOR THIS DEFECTIVE PART. *TR
MURANO FRONT DRIVERS SEAT FRAME CRACKED/BROKEN SEEN LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ON INTERNET OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND NO RECALL HAS BEEN SUBMITTED TO NISSAN FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE FIXED. COST RUNS OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS TO FIX. *TR
BRACKET ON THE LEFT SIDE OF DRIVER'S SEAT CRACKED IN HALF. SEAT NOW ROCKS WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION. WHILE DRIVING, THIS IS VERY DISTRACTING/SCARY AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE REPAIR IS ESTIMATED AT $1,000 AND THE DEALER CLAIMS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A STRUCTURAL DEFECT AS EVIDENCED BY THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME THING. THE CAR ENGINE SHUT DOWN ALL OF SUDDEN WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 60MPH ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND DIDN'T RESPOND TO ACTION ON ACCELERATOR. THE CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND 2 POLICE CARS CAME AND PUSHED THE CAR OUT OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WAS THEN TOWED TO A SERVICE CENTER. ACCORDING TO A DIAGNOSIS, WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE CAUSE IS THE FAILURE OF THE FUSE BOX. POWER COMES IN THE FUSE BOX BUT DOES NOT COME OUT. AND ALSO WE WERE INFORMED THAT THIS FAILURE IS UNCOMMON. THE PART WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, WE ARE NOW VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY AND RELIABILITY OF OUR CAR BECAUSE THE ABOVE CRITICAL ENGINE FAILURE OCCURRED TO OUR FAIRLY NEW CAR WHILE DRIVING. WE PURCHASED A NEW CAR AND THE CAR IS A LITTLE OVER 2 YEARS OLD AND ITS MILEAGE IS ONLY ABOUT 19K. *CN
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT WAS ATTEMPTING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE WHEN HE NOTICED THAT THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT FRAME WAS CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE SEAT FRAME WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE CRACK IS STILL VISIBLE. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 62000.

ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO, I BEGIN TO NOTICE THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS ROCKING EVERY TIME I TURNED. THIS IS NOT A SLIGHT ROCKING. I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT THE SEAT MOVES 2-3 INCHES. I WAS ACTUALLY BUMPING INTO THE CENTER CONSOLE. IT SEEMS TO BE LOOSE ON THE LEFT SIDE. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP, IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A "BROKEN BRACKET IN THE LINK ARM." THERE IS AN EXTENDED BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY ON THE CAR, BUT NISSAN HAS DECLINED TO COVER THE PART. I DO NOT VIEW THIS AS A COSMETIC ISSUE OR A MINOR PROBLEM. I HAVE TRUE CONCERNS ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IN ANY TYPE OF ACCIDENT WITH A LOOSE SEAT, ESPECIALLY IN A ROLLOVER. *TR
THIS IS REGARDING A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOES NOT LOCK IN THE UP POSITION. THIS CAUSES IT TO FALL DONW INTO THE FIELD OF VIEW AND IS A DEFINATE SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING ON ROUGH ROADS AS IT CAN BLOCK YOU VISION WITHOUT ANY WARNING. MANUFACTURER AND DEALERS WILL NOT COVER THIS REPAIR ONCE OUT OF WARRENTY AND IT COSTS UPWARDS OF $400 TO DO THE REPAIR. I HAVE INVESTIGATED THIS AND HAVE EVEN HEARD FROM DEALERS THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURANCE WITH THESE VEHICLES ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2003. THIS SHOULD DEFINATELY BE A SAFTEY RECALL AS IT COULD CAUSE AN UNEXPECTED ACCIDENT
MY 2007 MURANO HAS BEGUN STALLING AND LURCHING FORWARD IN TRAFFIC. IT JUST STARTED DOING THIS WITHIN THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS, BUT IT WAS VERY SCARY AS I WAS ALMOST HIT BECAUSE I COULD NOT CONTROL HOW THE CAR WAS REACTING IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AFTER COMING TO A STOP, I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR STOPPED QUICKLY, AS THOUGH I HAD STEPPED ON THE BRAKE - THEN IT ACCELERATED QUICKLY, AS THOUGH I HAD STEPPED HARD ON THE GAS PEDAL. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR. HOWEVER, IT HAS DONE THE SAME THING 3 OTHER TIMES WITHIN 24 HOURS. ALL OF THEM OCCUR WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED OR MOVING VERY SLOWLY. I WAS ALMOST HIT IN THE INTERSECTION BECAUSE I COULD NOT CONTROL THE CAR. *TR
DRIVERS SEAT BROKEN TRACK MAKING SEAT ROCK LIKE A ROCKING CHAIR. *TR
MY 2007 NISSAN MURANO DRIVER SEAT BROKE TONIGHT IT STARTED MAKING A NOISE A COUPLE DAYS PRIOR AND THEN IT JUST STARTED SAGGING DOWN ON THE LEFT SIDE. I HAD TO DRIVE IT HOME WITH IT FLOPPING UP AND DOWN, THIS WAS VERY UNSTABLE AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY. WE LOOKED UNDER THE SEAT TO SEE IF PERHAPS A BOLT CAME UNSCREWED ONLY TO SEE ITS A METAL BRACKET AND WOULD NEED TO GO TO THE DEALER TO BE FIXED. MY CAR HAS 50,0000 MILES FROM WHAT I AM SEEING THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE, BUT SINCE NO BODILY INJURIES OR DEATHS HAVE OCCURRED THEY ARE NOT BEING REQUIRED TO RECALL THIS PROBLEM. I THINK ALLOWING THEM TO CHARGE CONSUMERS 1000.00 TO 1500.00 IS RIDICULOUS. LETS NOT WAIT FOR PEOPLE TO DIE IN ORDER TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I WILL CALL THE DEALER TOMORROW TO SEE SET UP THE APPT FOR THE ANOTHER RECALL I JUST RECEIVED AND WILL INQUIRE ABOUT FIXING THE SEAT WHICH I AM SURE I WILL BE TOLD ITS OUT OF WARRANTY AND NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. FRONT SEAT HAS BECOME LOOSE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SEAT. I HAD TAKEN IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND ASKED THEM TO LOOK AT IT. THEY CALLED TO LET ME KNOW IT WOULD COST 1000.00 FOR THE PART AND 200.00 FOR LABOR. IN A STRUGGLING ECONOMY I CANNOT AFFORD TO MAKE THIS REPAIR. THIS SEAT IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE IF I WERE TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I FEEL AS THOUGH THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY NISSAN AS I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE MANY OTHER OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS. *TR
NISSAN 2007 MURANO - LEFT REAR ANCHOR BRACKET ON DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE. IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM (PE08065), WHY IS NISSAN NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR EITHER FIXING THE PROBLEM OR HAVING A COST EFFECTIVE FIX (THIS COULD RUN OVER $1,000). *TR
2007 NISSAN MURANO DRIVERS SUNVISOR DOES NOT REMAIN IN RETRACTED (STOWED) POSITION. SUNVISOR ROTATES ABOUT PIVOT ROD DUE TO ROAD VIBRATION AND COMPLETELY BLOCKS DRIVERS VIEW. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND IS EXACERBATED WITH NIGHT TIME DRIVING OR IN BAD WEATHER. THIS APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT IN DESIGN OF THE SUNVISOR RETRACT CAM MECHANISM. THE SUNVISOR UNIT CANNOT BE REPAIRED, IT MUST BE REPLACED AND IS PROHIBITIVELY EXPENSIVE. NISSAN HAS BEEN CONTACTED DIRECTLY AND REFUSES TO REPLACE THE COMPONENT. AN INTERNET SEARCH HAS REVEALED MANY SIMILAR FAILURES IN MULTIPLE MODEL YEARS AND 116 REPORTS ARE ON FILE WITH NHTSA AS OF THIS WRITING. THIS SHOULD BE THE SUBJECT OF A SAFETY RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED BY THESE DEFECTIVE SUNVISORS. *TR
THE VISORS WILL NOT STAY IN THE UP OR STOW POSITION CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE FOR THE DRIVER. IT WILL BLOCK THE DRIVER'S VISION WHEN IT FALLS. THE NISSAN MOTOR CORPORATION IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITHOUT CHARGING THE OWNERS OF THE VEHICLES. THE NISSAN MURANO SL AWD I OWN WAS VERY EXPENSIVE AND THE DEALER IS WANTING $300.00 OR MORE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM WITH NO HELP WITH THE COST FROM NISSAN. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT HAS BROKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, AND HE WAS ADVISED THAT IT WOULD COST $1000.00 TO REPLACE THE SEAT. THE NISSAN MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, AND HE WAS ADVISED THAT BECAUSE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED, NO ASSISTANCE COULD BE PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,793.
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR DOES NOT STAY IN DOWN POSITION. EVEN THOUGH VEHICLE HAS EXTENDED WARRANTY, NISSAN REFUSES TO COVER IT. VISOR HAS TO BE HELD BY HAND WHILE DRIVING TO STAY IN CORRECT POSITION. IF NOT HELD, THEN VISOR MOVES OUT OF POSITION SOMETIMES BLOCKING VIEW OF TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND VEHICLES AHEAD. *KB
2007 NISSAN MURANO. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH FUEL METER RESULTING IN FAULTY READING OF THE FUEL LEVEL. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL METER DID NOT SHOW THE CORRECT FUEL LEVEL, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE CONSUMER STARTED EXPERIENCING STATIC IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THE VEHICLE WAS FIXED, HOWEVER THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM FOUR ADDITIONAL TIMES. EACH TIME THE CONSUMER WENT BACK TO THE DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE FUEL METER AND OTHER RELATED PARTS. *JB
2007 NISSAN MURANO DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR KEEPS FALLING DOWN, SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE READ ON FORUMS AND THEY HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS, AND FROM WHAT I'VE READ THEY WANT TO RIP YOU OFF ON PRICE FOR A NEW ONE. YOU LOSE YOUR TOTAL VISION OF THE ROAD WHEN IT FALLS. IT FALLS VERY OFTEN, ABOUT EVERY 5 MINUTES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
THE LEFT REAR OF THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT FRAME FAILED. THE SEAT WOBBLES. *TR
THE BATTERY USED IN NISSAN MURANO 2007 IS DEFECTIVE AND GOES DOWN WITHIN 12 - 36 MONTHS FOR MOST VEHICLES. WHEN MOST OF THE BATTERIES IN THE US PROVIDE AT LEAST 36 MONTHS OF WARRANTY, NISSAN MADE ITS OWN POLICY TO COVER 100% ONLY FOR 1ST 12 MONTHS, AND THEN START PRORATED CHARGES. THEY CONCEAL THE DEFECT DURING A SALE/LEASE, BUT IT'S VERY COMMON. I HAD TO PAY $75 IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE BATTERY THAT IS ONLY 24 MONTHS OLD. THEY REPLACED WITH ANOTHER DEFECTIVE NISSAN BATTERY, AND REFUSED TO REPLACE WITH A REPUTABLE BATTERY SUCH AS INTERSTATE. I STAYED AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND SAW FOUR SIMILAR SUVS CAME IN, ALL WITH THE SAME COMPLAIN. I SPOKE TO SOME NISSAN OWNERS AND THEY ALL AGREED THAT THEIR BATTERIES WENT DOWN JUST AFTER 12 MONTHS. NISSAN USED TO OFFER 36 MONTHS WARRANTY TILL 2005, AND THEN STARTED TO REDUCE THE WARRANTY, AND NOW IT IS ONLY FOR 12 MONTHS. THEY SHOULD REFUND MY PAYMENT AS WELL AS TO OTHER OWNERS WHO WERE FORCED TO REPLACE THE BATTERY WITHIN 36 MONTHS AS THE COMPANY CLAIMS BUMPER TO BUMPER COVERAGE FOR THIS PERIOD. THEN THEY SHOULD REPLACE WITH A REPUTABLE BATTERY SUCH AS INTERSTATE UNTIL THEY FIX THE PROBLEM OF THEIR BATTERY. *TR

MY 2007 NISSAN MURANO HAS BROKEN DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT FRAME. IT BROKE WHILE BRAKING FOR STOP SIGN AT A SLOW SPEED AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD APPROX. 50,000 MILES. IT NOW ROCKS TO THE RIGHT WHEN BRAKING AND TURNING. THE DEALERSHIP ESTIMATE TO REPAIR SEAT FRAME IS $1,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 50 MPH WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR FAILED TO STAY IN POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER CONFIRMED THE VISOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SEAT FAILED AND EXTENDED TO THE REAR SEAT. THE CONTACT IMMEDIATELY DROVE TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE SEAT COULD BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER WELDED THE SEAT TO THE TRACK AS A TEMPORARY REMEDY. ON JULY 6, 2009, THE SEAT FAILED AGAIN. THE DEALER RECENTLY STATED THAT THEY WOULD NO LONGER WELD THE SEAT BECAUSE THE TRACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT PAID $400 FOR THE WELDING AND $1,400 FOR THE TRACK REPLACEMENT. SHE STATED THAT SHE WOULD NOT REPAIR THE SEAT SINCE THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD MAKE AN AGREEMENT WITH HER TO SPLIT THE REPAIR COST. THEY LATER STATED THAT THEY WOULD GET IN TOUCH WITH HER AND THAT NO RECALLS WERE AVAILABLE; HOWEVER, THE DEALER AND SERVICE MANAGER CONFIRMED THAT THE FAILURES OCCURRED. IF A CRASH HAD OCCURRED, THE INJURIES COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. THE CONTACT REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR AND STATED THAT IF THE SEAT LEANED TOWARD THE AIR BAG SWITCH, THE AIR BAG WOULD DEPLOY. THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL IS MAILING HER A PACKET TO REPORT THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER THAT SHE WILL GO THE MEDIA ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THIS WOULD BE IRRELEVANT SINCE NO CRASH OCCURRED. THE CONTACT FOUND SEVERAL NHTSA COMPLAINTS AND AN OPEN INVESTIGATION REGARDING THIS ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000.

I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2007 NISSAN MURANO AND IT HAS 55,000 MILES ON IT. AS I WAS DRIVING HOME MY DRIVERS SEAT MADE A VERY BIG POP AND THE FRAME OF THE SEAT BROKE INTO. IT SCARED ME TO DEATH AND I FELT SO UNSAFE. MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS THAT I HAD BEEN HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. PLEASE READ ALL THE COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS. I AM SURE THIS IS A DEFECT AND A BIG SAFETY CONCERN. IT WAS A CHILLY WINTER AFTERNOON AND I HAD JUST PULLED OUT OF A BUSINESS PARKING LOT INTO TRAFFIC. THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 30MPH AND I WAS SLOWLY GETTING UP TO SPEED. THE TRAFFIC LIGHT CHANGED TO RED AND WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES, NOTHING HAPPENED. IT WAS LIKE I WAS PRESSING AGAINST A SOLID WALL. I HAD TO SWERVE AROUND CARS, HONKING MY HORN AS I COULDN'T STOP. I MANAGED TO PULL INTO ANOTHER PARKING LOT WHILE REPEATEDLY TRYING TO APPLY THE BRAKES. THE BRAKES FINALLY RELEASED AFTER ABOUT 1 MINUTE OF PUMPING. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 10 MORE TIMES SINCE THEN. THE DEALER STATES THAT THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH BRAKES AND THIS IS SOMETHING THEY'VE NEVER DEALT WITH. IT CANNOT BE REPLICATED ONCE CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES. *TR
I WAS ON HWY 10 TRAVELING FROM HOUSTON TO NM, HEADED WEST JUST PAST EXIST 138 IN NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. I HAS JUST FINISHED FUELING UP MY VEHICLE AND WAS BACK ON THE HWY. I RAN OVER SMALL OBJECT IN THE ROAD THAT CAUSED A PUNCTURE IN THE BACK OF THE FUEL TANK. I WAS SIGNALED BY PASSING CALL TO PULLOVER IMMEDIATELY AS THERE WAS FUEL WAS POURING OUT OF THE VEHICLE , MAKING IT AN EXTREME FIRE HAZARD & UNDRIVEABLE. I WAS FOLLOWING BEHIND MY BOYFRIEND DURING THIS INCIDENT WHO ALSO RAN OVER THIS SAME OBJECT AND NOTHING HAPPENED TO HIS VEHICLE (BMW). I CALLED NISSAN THE NEXT DAY ( I HAVE REFERENCE # ) & I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR 2007 REGARDING FUEL TANK PUNCTURE PROBLEMS .HE SAID THIS WAS A PROBLEM FOR THE PREVIOUS YEAR MODELS AND NOT MY MODEL YEAR. THE FUEL TANK DOES APPEAR HOWEVER TO BE EXPOSED AND APPEARS TO BE PRONE TO THIS PROBLEM . THERE ARE APPROX 17500 MILES ON THIS 2007 MURANO. THE FUEL TANK WAS PATCHED THE NEXT DAY, AND THE SUV DRIVEN TO IT'S DESTINATION WITHOUT INCIDENT, AND PARKED UNTIL IT COULD BE TOWED BY THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. A NEW FUEL TANK WILL BE USED TO REPLACE THE DAMAGED ONE. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED AND I SHOULD CONTACT MY INSURANCE. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS MAY HAPPEN AGAIN . THIS WAS THE 1ST TIME FOR THIS VEHICLE TO BE DRIVEN ON THE HWY AS IT WAS ONLY DRIVEN LOCALLY ON CITY STREETS PRIOR. THE SAME OBJECT DID NOT CAUSE THE SAME PROBLEM FOR MY BOYFRIENDS VEHICLE NOR FOR THE OTHER CARS WHO RAN OVER IT AS WELL. *TR
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) IS DEFECTIVE. THE PRESSURE INDICATOR IN MY VEHICLE CONSTANTLY LIGHTS UP TELLING ME MY TIRES ARE UNDERINFLATED. I HAVE CHECKED THE TIRES WITH THREE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRESSURE GAUGES AND THE READING IS THE RECOMMENDED 32 PSI BUT THE CAR SAYS 27 PSI. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN THEY TOLD ME TO OVER INFLATE MY TIRES TO 37 PSI WHEN THE PLACARD IN THE DOOR SAYS TO INFLATE TO 32 PSI. BASICALLY THE TPMS IS OFF BY 16% WHICH I BELIEVE IS A SAFETY CONCERN. EITHER I OVER INFLATE MY TIRES, RESULTING IN LESS STABILITY AND UNEVEN WEAR, OR I IGNORE THE WARNING LIGHT AND TAKE THE RISK THAT I MAY DRIVE OVER A NAIL OR OTHER ROAD HAZARD AND NOT KNOW ABOUT IT. I FIND THE PROBLEM ESPECIALLY INTERESTING WHEN YOU SEE THAT ON ALL OF MY NISSAN MAINTENANCE WORK THEY REPORT THEY INFLATED THE TIRES TO 33 PSI, WHEN IN TRUTH THEY INFLATE IT TO 36-37 PSI SO THAT THE LIGHT WILL NOT COME ON. I HAVE NOTIFIED NISSAN ON 11/28/2008 BUT NO AVAIL. IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FROM MY SEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND I HOPE YOU WILL LOOK INTO IT. *TR
