THE POWER DRIVER SEAT HAS A "WEAK LINK". IT'S NOT A "TRACK" IT'S A BRACKET THAT WAS NOT DESIGNED STRONG ENOUGH AND EVENTUALLY SHEARS OFF AT TWO POINTS DRIVER SEAT IS LOOSE OR BROKEN BRACKET PART NUMBER 87450-CA684 WAS THE "OFFENDING" PART PER MY INVOICE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SHIFTED INDEPENDENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. UPDATED 02/02/16*LJ *TR
BROKEN DRIVERS SEAT. SEAT ROCKS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN VISOR WOULD CONTINUOUSLY FALL FROM THE LATCH HOOKS, OBSTRUCTING THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER. THE DEALER MADE UNKNOWN REPAIRS TO THE VISOR YET THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
FOR EIGHT MONTHS I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING MY CAR WINDOWS GOING DOWN MYSTERIOUSLY. NISSAN, MURANO, 2007, SL, TOURING PACKAGE, 4 DOORS W/HATCH. OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED, SHUT OFF, LOCKED AND NO ONE INSIDE IT; IN ALL TYPES OF WEATHER (HOT, COLD, DRY, WET); WHEN PARKED INDOORS OR OUTSIDE. TWO FRONT WINDOWS ALWAYS MYSTERIOUSLY GO DOWN BUT ON SOME OCCASIONS REAR WINDOWS GO DOWN TOO ALONG WITH FRONT ONES. I THOUGHT IT WAS OPERATOR ERROR, BUT HAVE RULED IT OUT AFTER HOW FREQUENT IT OCCURS. TWO MONTHS AGO IT OCCURRED WHEN PARKED OUTDOORS; A HEAVY RAIN STORM OCCURRED SOAKED THE VEHICLE AND REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL CLEANING TO REMOVE WATER. A MONTH AGO IT OCCURRED PARKED AT A BUSY MALL PARKING LOT. I WAS SHOCKED TO COME OUT AND FIND THE WINDOWS DOWN AND CAR NOT SECURE. THREE WEEKS AGO IT OCCURRED AT NIGHT PARKED OUTDOORS; IT WAS FILLED WITH DEBRIS IN THE MORNING DUE TO A WINDY NIGHT. IN THE LAST WEEK AND A HALF IT HAS OCCURRED 4 TIMES, WHILE IN A GARAGE. TODAY, OCTOBER 8, 2008 IT HAPPENED TWICE AND I WITNESSED THE SECOND OCCURRENCE. IT OCCURRED THE 2ND TIME JUST AS A RAIN SHOWER WAS STARTING. THE CAR HAD TO BE COVERED WITH A TARP FOR THE NIGHT TO PREVENT RAIN FROM GETTING IN IT IN THE EVENT THE WINDOWS GO BACK DOWN AGAIN. THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE WHEN THE WINDOWS WILL NOT STAY UP. THE PASSENGERS ARE AT RISK, CAR IS AT RISK OF BEING DAMAGED FROM INCLEMENT WEATHER INSIDE IT, VEHICLE IS AT RISK FOR THEFT OR BEING VANDALIZED DUE TO NOT BEING SECURE, PERSONAL PROPERTY IS AT RISK OF THEFT FROM THE VEHICLE DUE TO NOT BEING SECURE. I FEEL THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE DOCUMENTED AND ADDRESSED. OTHERS ONLINE HAVE POSTED THE SAME PROBLEMS ON BLOGS. AFTER TODAY I WILL BE MEETING WITH THE DEALER TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. FOR A VEHICLE RATED SO HIGH IN SAFETY I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE DUE TO THE WINDOW PROBLEM. I AM SHOCKED NISSAN HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING SINCE OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED. I AM QUESTIONING OWNING IT. *TR
I OPENED THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND THE DOOR LATCH SNAPPED CLOSE ON MY INDEX FINGER. I HAD TO OPEN THE DOOR LATCH TO RELEASE MY FINGER. SEVEN STITCHES, XRAYS OF THE FINGER AND A TETANUS SHOT FOLLOWED. NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE, THIS OCCURRED ON A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AT NIGHT, THE HIGH AND LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE THROUGH THE PLASTIC LIGHT COVERS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
BRAKES ON OUR 2007 NISSAN MURANO, WITH OVER 7000 MILES, STILL SQUEAL EXCESSIVELY IN REVERSE. WE ARE CONCERNED WITH EVENTUAL DAMAGE TO PADS AND/OR ROTORS AND SUBSEQUENT BRAKE FAILURE. AT THE DEALER FOR A SCHEDULED SERVICE VISIT, SERVICE MANAGER RECENTLY CLAIMER "ALL CARS HAVE SAME BRAKE NOISE" AND "ALL BRAKE PADS ARE THE SAME", AND "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AND THE BRAKE NOISES ARE NORMAL." *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, THE INTAKE AIR DUCTS HAD TO BE MANUALLY RECONNECTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTAKE AIR DUCTS WERE AGING PREMATURELY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
THERE WAS A DISTINCT CLICKING COMING FROM THE FRONT AREA OF THE CAR AS I ACCELERATED. WENT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS DEBRIS IN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. *TR
IN FEBRUARY 2008 MY 2007 MURANO DEVELOPED A WINDSHIELD STRESS FRACTURE. IT WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER AND INSTALLED BY A GLASS COMPANY. AS OF TODAY I HAVE ANOTHER STRESS FRACTURE OF THE WINDSHIELD. *TR
IN FEBRUARY 2008 DURING AN OIL CHANGE, FLUID LEAK WAS DISCOVERED BETWEEN CVT (TRANSMISSION) AND TRANSFER CASE. ON 2/5/08 DEALER MADE FIRST ATTEMPT TO REPAIR. THEY STATED THAT SOME CVT BOLTS WERE LOOSE AND WERE TIGHTENED. VEHICLE WAS RETURN TO ME AS FIXED (MILEAGE 11303). ON 5/12/08, VEHICLE WENT BACK TO DEALER FOR SCHEDULED 15K MAINTENANCE WHERE THEY FOUND IT STILL LEAKING. NEW TRANSFER CASE WAS ORDERED AND VEHICLE WENT BACK IN FOR INSTALLATION ON 5/15/08. ON 6/10/08, DURING A 3 WEEK VACATION IN BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER ON THE HIGHWAY DURING BUSY COMMUTE TRAFFIC AND MADE CLUNKING NOISES. PULLED OFF HIGHWAY AND CALLED NISSAN N.A. AND TOWED TO NISSAN DEALER IN VICTORIA. DEALER DETERMINED THAT DUE TO HUMAN ERROR, PROPELLER (DRIVE) SHAFT WAS NOT PROPERLY TIGHTENED DOWN DURING TRANSFER CASE INSTALL AND HAD FALLEN OFF THE CAR. VEHICLE REPAIRED AND EXPENSES REIMBURSED BY DEALER IN CALIFORNIA. IN MARCH 2009, OIL CHANGE AGAIN REVEALED TRANSFER CASE LEAKING. DEALER ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE TC SEAL BUT FOUND TC DAMAGED DUE TO MISSING VENT TUBE. DEALER REPLACED WITH ANOTHER TRANSFER CASE ON 3/9/09. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE COMMON WITH AWD MURANOS. I HAVE PERSISTENTLY CHECKED FOR SIGNS OF LEAKS. OTHER OWNERS HAVE NOT BEEN AS DILIGENT AND HAVE EXPERIENCE NUMEROUS FAILURES DURING OPERATION ON THE ROAD. THIS IS A DANGER AS VEHICLE WILL STALL AND FAIL ON THE ROAD. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN MURANO THAT WE PURCHASE A FEW MONTHS AGO. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL IS APPLIED, THERE IS A HORRIBLE SQUEAKING/WHISTLING/GRINDING NOISE THAT OCCURS. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES AND THEY CONSISTENTLY STATE THEY ARE WORKING ON A SOLUTION BUT NISSAN DOES NOT KNOW WHAT IS REALLY WRONG WITH THEM AND ONLY OFFER A SUGGESTIVE CHANGE IN BRAKE PADS AND USING A SPECIAL GREASE TO LESSEN THE NOISE FOR A FEW DAYS. THEY EVENTUALLY CHANGED OUT THE ROTORS ON THE LAST TRIP A COUPLE WEEKS AGO AND TOLD US THE PROBLEM NISSAN STATES IS THERE WAS A CHANGE IN THE "NISSAN BRAKE PADS" AND THERE IS TO MUCH METALLIC IN THE PADS NOW WHICH IS CAUSING THE NOISE. SINCE THAT VISIT, WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP AND HAD AND "AFTER-MARKET BRAKE PAD" PLACED ON THE CAR SINCE NISSAN STATES IS WAS ONLY A PROBLEM WITH THEIR MAKE OF BRAKE PAD. WE VERY QUICKLY LEARNED THIS WAS NOT TRUE! THE NOISE AND GRINDING IS WORSE. IT HAS EVEN BECOME NOTICEABLE ANYTIME YOU APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKES DO NOT FEEL LIKE THEY ARE GRABBING CORRECTLY. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND DO NOT THINK WE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY $40K FOR A CAR AND NOT HAVE SECURITY WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM. I THINK THE DEALERS SHOULD REPLACE THE VEHICLES BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED DUE TO THE BRAKE FAILURE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILED ON DECEMBER 7, 2007. ON DECEMBER 22, 2007, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH IN COLD WEATHER, THE VEHICLE STALLED IN TRAFFIC. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE JERKED. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED, BUT THEN STALLED AGAIN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ABOVE 20 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. ON JANUARY 9, 2008, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH IN DRY CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD AND THREW THE CONTACT INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT BRUISED HER CHEST. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DIMMED AND THE RADIO SHUT OFF TEMPORARILY. THE VEHICLE CONTINUALLY LOST POWER AND WOULD ONLY SHIFT INTO LOW GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP ON JANUARY 11, 2008. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND SHE SMELLED A STRANGE ODOR. THE FUEL GAUGE WENT FROM THREE QUARTERS OF A TANK TO A FULL TANK. THE SPEEDOMETER BEGAN TO DISPLAY INACCURATE READINGS AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER ON JANUARY 20, 2008 AND THEY STATED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILED AGAIN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,900 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,200.
BRAKES/EXCESSIVE SQUEAKING ESPECIALLY IN REVERSE. HORRIBLE SOUND. *TR
WHILE GENTLY APPLYING BRAKES, THE VEHICLE SOMETIME LUNGES FORWARD AND THE BRAKE PEDAL MUST BE PRESSED HARDER TO CONTINUE SLOWING AT THE SAME RATE. A NISSAN AREA TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVE DROVE THE VEHICLE WITH ME. I TOLD HIM HE WAS STOPPING TOO QUICKLY TO NOTICE THE PROBLEM. I NEVER COULD GET HIM TO TRY IT WHILE STOPPING GENTLY. IT MAY BE A SITUATION RELATED TO THE CVT TRANSMISSION DISENGAGING FROM ENGINE BRAKING AND ONLY HAPPEN ON WHILE DOWNHILL BRAKING. *TR
MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED A 2007 NISSAN MURANO A FEW MONTHS AGO. SINCE THAT TIME WE HAVE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH VERY LOUD SCREECHING NOISES WITH THE BRAKES. WE HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE WE BOUGHT IT IN LUBBOCK, TX AND TO A DEALER IN HOUSTON. BOTH SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN MURANOS AND THEY ARE HOPING FOR SOME SORT OF FIX FROM NISSAN. THEY BOTH SAID THAT TO DATE THERE HAS BEEN NO REPAIR INITIATED FROM THE FACTORY. I WROTE AN EMAIL TO NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE AND THEY DID NOT CARE TO RESPOND. SINCE THE BRAKES ARE SUCH A VITAL PART OF AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY AND THESE ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT RIGHT I WANT TO ASK FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE IN GETTING THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED. IF IT CANNOT BE RESOLVED WOULD YOU PLEASE ADVISE ME AS TO HOW TO RETURN THIS CAR UNDER THE "LEMON LAW" AS WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE WHEN DRIVING IT. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO DEALERS AND BOTH RECOGNIZE THAT IT IS A PROBLEM BUT NEITHER CAN RECOMMEND A FIX. I DO NOT BELIEVE WE SHOULD HAVE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE A CAR WE BELIEVE IS UNSAFE. *TR
I HAD AT LEAST 3 ACCIDENTS IN MY MURANO WHEREBY I HIT THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS ALMOST STOPPED OR STOPPED, BUT THE ACCELERATOR KEPT ON PUSHING THEREFORE, HITTING THE NEXT CAR. BECAUSE IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN 2 YEARS AND I AM NOT CARELESS, I FEEL IT COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE MINOR IDLE FLUCTUATION OR POOR ACCELERATION DESCRIBED IN NISSAN MURANO MODEL 2007-RECALL NOTIFICATION. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT RECOURSE I MAY HAVE OTHER THAN JUST FIXING MY CAR; WHICH I INTEND TO DO. *TR
WHEN I STOPPED COMPLETELY (I.E., STOP SIGN, STOP LIGHT, ETC.) I COULD MASH THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WOULD ONLY GO ABOUT 2 MPH. *TR
A 2007 NISSAN MURANO BOUGHT NEW MAY 2007AND SINCE NEW THE VEHICLE HAS MADE A LOUD SQUEALING SOUND FROM THE BRAKES WHEN IN REVERSE. CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED AT THE CONYERS NISSAN DEALER BUT EVEN THOUGH THE ITEM WAS BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION THEY SAID THERE WAS NO FIX FOR IT. ANOTHER INCIDENT THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT AT THE DEALERSHIP THE WHOLE DAY, TO NO AVAIL. THE MOST RECENT VISIT AND AFTER ANOTHER COMPLAINT THE SERVICE ADVISOR CHECKED THE SERVICE BULLETINS AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS ONE ISSUED FOR THAT PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE PADS. HOWEVER THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND DURING A RECENT ROUTINE SERVICE VISIT THE DEALER SAID THAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS WHICH HAD TO BE RE-SURFACED AND TURNED AT A COST OF $250.00 PLUS TAX. WE DO NOT FEEL THAT THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A CHARGE SINCE THE PROBLEM EXISTED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW AND THEY DID NOT HAVE A FIX FOR IT AT FIRST. THEY ARE CITING THE BRAKE WARRANTY WHICH EXPIRES AFTER 12000 MILES CLAIMING NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR CAUSED THE PROBLEM. IF THEY HAD FIXED THE PROBLEM FROM THE START THEN THIS WOULD NOT HAVE BECOME AN ISSUE. *TR
I HAVE A NEW 2007 NISSAN MURANO SL WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE AND BRAKE PEDAL APPLIED, THERE IS A HORRIBLE SCREECHING/SQUEALING NOISE THAT OCCURS. IT IS A VERY LOUD NOISE THAT CAN BE HEARD FROM FAR AWAY. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME THE CAR IS IN REVERSE. THE PROBLEM DOES NOT OCCUR WHEN VEHICLE IS GOING FORWARD. THE BRAKES CONTINUE TO WORK EXCEPT FOR THE NOISE. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER COUNTLESS TIMES AND THEY SAY A FIX IS BEING WORKED ON, BUT NO RESOLUTION AS TO WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. NOT SURE IF THE DEALER IS LYING TO ME, OR IF NISSAN IS REALLY TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. THE DEALER DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM AT THIS TIME. I TOOK THE MURANO IN TO BE FIXED THINKING THEY HAD A AN OFFICIAL SOLUTION, BUT ALL THEY DID WAS INSPECT THE BRAKES. THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED SOON AS I HAVE READ MANY FORUMS WHERE 06 AND 07 MURANO OWNERS HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH BRAKE SQUEAL. IT IS SO LOUD MY NEIGHBORS CAN HERE IT FROM THERE HOUSES. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS BEFORE THE BRAKES FAIL AND SOME GETS HURT. *JB
ON TWO OCCASIONS WITH HEAVY WET SNOW THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BECAME STUCK. BOTH TIMES IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO PULL OVER TO CLEAR THE ICE BUILD UP FROM UNDER THE ARM AND INSIDE THE HOOD. THIS CREATED AN EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS DRIVING SITUATION. *JB
DUE TO CLOSE PROXIMITY (AND SAME "LEVEL") OF BRAKE PEDAL AND GAS PEDAL, THE THROTTLE IS ACCIDENTALLY ENGAGED WHEN TRYING TO STOP (UNDER BRAKING). THIS CAUSES THE BRAKING TO BE LESS EFFECTIVE (ENGINE WORKING AGAINST BRAKES), WITH MODERATE LOSS OF CONTROL, UNUSUAL RESULTS, AND NEAR ACCIDENTS. THIS HAS OCCURED THREE TIMES TO ME, AND HAS OCCURRED TWICE TO MY WIFE, ON THIS VEHICLE. WE HAVE BOTH BEEN DRIVING MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF VEHICLES FOR MANY YEARS, AND NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN TO EITHER OF US BEFORE. THEREFORE, IT MUST BE AN "UNUSUAL" DESIGN CAUSE ON THIS VEHICLE.

I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN MURANO SE AWD. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE AND BRAKE PEDAL APPLIED, THERE IS A HORRIBLE SCREECHING/SQUEALING NOISE THAT OCCURS.
