2007 MURANO. FRONT SEAT, FRONT BRACKET BROKE AT 59000 MILES. FRONT SEAT DROPPED TO THE LEFT. HEARD THIS WAS AN ISSUE FOR MANY MURANO OWNERS AND IS AN EXPENSIVE FIX FOR SOMETHING THAT SEEMS DEFECTIVE. SUPPOSEDLY ITS USUALLY THE REAR BRACKET OF THE FRONT SEAT SO NOW IM JUST WAITING ON THAT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PARKED, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT PARTIALLY DETACHED FROM THE FRAME WHEN THE SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. ALSO, WHENEVER DRIVING THE SEAT WOULD BEGAN TO ROCK IN A BACKWARD AND FORWARD MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO INFORMED THAT THE SERVICE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
NOTICED LEAK ON DRIVEWAY CEMENT. INVESTIGATED FOUND PS FLUID LOW. REFILLED AND CONTINUED TO LEAK. BEING REPAIRED AS WE WRITE AT MY COST. SHOULD BE RECALL AS I HAVE READ MANY REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING. *TR
DRIVER SEAT BRACKET/TRACK BROKE SUDDENLY. LEFT REAR CORNER NOW UNATTACHED AND SEAT IS WOBBLY AND NOT SECURED. *TR
ON 2/23/14, I NOTICE THERE WAS WHAT APPEARED TO BE OIL LEAKING FROM MY TRUCK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ON 2/26/14, IT WAS THE IT WAS THE PRESSURE HOLES LEAKING WHICH HAVE CAUSED OTHER PROBLEMS. RACK AND PINION (R) SIDE, REPLACE FUEL SENDER TWO PARTS. SEPTEMBER OF 2013, I HAD TO HAVE BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT CONTROL ARM REPAIR. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND THE CUSTOMER SHOULD NOT HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EXPENSE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND THE LEFT SIDE SUPPORT ON MY SEAT JUST BROKE, CAUSING ME TO BE OFF BALANCE, AND I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS SOMEONE SITTING IN A ROCKING CHAIR ISN'T ABLE TO PROPERLY MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL, SINCE THEY PULL ON THE WHEEL FOR STABILITY WHEN THE CHAIR SUPPORT BREAKS. *TR
I GOT INTO MY PARKED CAR AND AS SOON I SAT IN THE SEAT, THE BACK LEFT SUPPORT OF THE SEAT BASE BROKE AND DROPPED ABOUT 6 INCHES. THE SEAT NOW ROCKS WHEN YOU SIT IN IT. THIS IS A VERY BIG SAFETY HAZARD FOR DRIVING AS THERE IS NO STABILITY IN THE SEAT AND MOVES AROUND TURNS AND OVER BUMPS. IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED THERE SURELY WOULD HAVE BEEN A CRASH. *TR
I GOT INTO MY CAR TO DRIVE SOMEWHERE, AND NOTICED THAT MY SEAT WAS LOOSE AND SHIFTING BACK AND FORTH - FROM SIDE TO SIDE. I THOUGHT THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE BOLT, AND SO I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 2/21, AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A BROKEN LIFTER ASSEMBLY - AND THAT THE REPAIR WOULD BE $625. I IMMEDIATELY ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL BECAUSE THE DEFINITELY APPEARED TO BE A "SAFETY ISSUE", AND I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOT. I HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH ON LINE, AND I SEE WHERE THIS IS AND HAS BEEN A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT FOR SEVERAL YEARS, FOR WHAT APPEARS TO BE FOR MODELS 2003 THRU 2007, AT LEAST. I FOUND PAGES AND PAGES OF COMPLAINTS FROM MANY PEOPLE. WE ALL HAVE THE SAME OPINION THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT, AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED AT THE EXPENSE OF NISSAN. I HAVE OWNED MANY DIFFERENT MODELS OF CARS IN MY LIFETIME, AND A SEAT BREAKING IN THIS MANNER HAS NEVER HAPPENED. MY HUSBAND IS A FIREFIGHTER, AND HIS FIRST RESPONSE WAS CONCERN THAT THE WAY THE SEAT SHIFTS NOW, COULD CAUSE A SEATBELT TO INJURE OR POSSIBLY DECAPITATE A PERSON DURING A CAR CRASH. HE HAS SEEN MANY UNUSUAL THINGS HAPPEN IN HIS CAREER, SO I DON'T BELIEVE THIS IS FAR FETCHED FROM THE REALITY OF SOMETHING TERRIBLE TO HAPPEN TO A PERSON DRIVING THEIR CAR WITH A BROKEN DRIVER'S SEAT. I WAS PREPARED TO PAY FOR A BOLT TO BE REPLACED, NOT TO HAVE TO PAY FOR MY SEAT TO BE COMPLETELY REPAIRED, IN ORDER TO KEEP ME AND MY FAMILY SAFE. A SEAT SHOULD BE MADE TO ENDURE THE DAY IN AND DAY OUT OF THE WEIGHT OF PEOPLE - LARGE AND SMALL, FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. I AM UNDER 200LBS, AND MY HUSBAND IS 250LBS. WE BOUGHT THE CAR WITH THE MINDSET THAT IT WOULD BE STRONG AND DURABLE TO LAST FOR MANY, MANY YEARS TO COME, WITHOUT THE WORRIES THAT OUR SEATS COULD BREAK SO EASILY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *TR
THE REAR MOUNT POINT FOR THE DRIVER'S SEAT HAS SNAPPED. THIS CAUSES THE DRIVER'S SEAT TO BECOME UNSTABLE AND ROCK BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING. *TR
TL - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SEAT FRACTURED OFF THE TRACK CAUSING THE SEAT TO WOBBLE BACK AND FORTH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,000. KMJ
WENT TO ADJUST DRIVERS SEAT AND HEARD A NOISE AND REALIZED I COULDN'T MOVE SEAT AFTER THAT. WHEN EVER I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD THE SEAT WOULD HIT HARD AS IF THE SPRING WAS NOT LONGER THERE. TRACK BROKE AND WHOLE SEAT HAD TO BE REPLACED. I REPLACED WITH A USED SEAT AND NOW ONE YEAR LATER (1/12/15) THE TRACK ON THIS SEAT HAS BROKEN AGAIN. I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED THE $584 FROM LAST YEARS FIX AND GET A NEW SEAT THIS YEAR AS THIS HAS NOT BEEN FIXED YET. *TR
I OWN A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE MISFIRING. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP. TOLD THAT I HAVE TO REPLACE THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. GAS GAUGE WILL SHOW FUEL IS EMPTY BUT ITS NOT. GAUGE WILL GO UP AND DOWN. *TR
WENT IN FOR HIGH PRESSURE HOSE REPLACEMENT AND CAME OUT WITH AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHING. DEALER (WOLFCHASE NISSAN) WOULD NOT OWN UP TO IT BEING A PROBLEM. FRUSTRATED THAT NISSAN DID NOT RECALL THE 07 AS THEY SHOULD HAVE ALL CARS, ETC WITH THAT SAME SPECIFICATION INSTEAD OF A FEW. HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS HAVE COMPLAINED BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO BE DONE FOR THE 07 MODELS. SHOULD A CONSUMER HAVE TO LOSE A LIFE DUE TO A FAULTY SENSOR OR WHATEVER THE ISSUE WITH THE PASSENGER SEAT CUSHIONS OR MODULES? NISSAN KNEW THE ISSUE EXIST BUT DOESN'T WANT TO OWN UP TO THIS RECALL. I'M BEGGING FOR AN INVESTIGATION REGARDING THIS ISSUE. PEOPLE HAVE LOST LIVES DUE TO ERRORS WITH THE AIR BAG AND I PERSONALLY DON'T WANT TO BE THE NEXT VICTIM. DRIVERS SEAT RAIL IS BROKEN AND ROCKS BACK AND FORTH. *TR
WARNING AIR BAG LIGHT DOES NOT SHUT OFF. KEEPS BLINKING POWER WINDOWS GO DOWN BY ITSELF HALF WAY DOWN, INTERMITTENTLY. OPPORTUNITY FOR THEFT AND RAIN DAMAGE.. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 45 MPH AND HEARD A SNAPPING NOISE AND FELT MY DRIVERS SEAT WOBBLE. WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO THE PARKING LOT OF MY GRANDSON'S SCHOOL AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND NOTICED THAT MY DRIVERS SEAT WAS TITLED TO THE LEFT AND ROCKING BACK AND FORTH. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE STEEL FRAME OF THE SEAT NEEDED TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED. FORTUNATELY FOR ME THAT I DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT WHERE I COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY BEEN INJURED OR WORSE YET THAT I INJURED SOMEONE ELSE. THE COST FOR THE REPAIR WAS $1450. I CONTACTED NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE WHO FOR ASSISTANCE WITH FUNDING OF THIS REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT SEATS ARE ONLY WARRANTED FOR 3 YEARS AND THEY WERE UNWILLING TO PROVIDE ANY MONETARY ASSISTANCE. I DO NOT CONSIDER THIS AS BEING NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR OF A VEHICLE AND AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED THAT NISSAN IS NOT WILLING TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I APPEALED THIS DECISION WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY ARE STILL UNWILLING TO ASSIST ME WITH FUNDING. WHAT A SHAME, THEY HAVE CERTAINLY LOST A VALUED NISSAN CUSTOMER. CHECKING THE INTERNET, SPECIFICALLY YOUR WEBSITE NHTSA, IT APPEARS THAT THERE HAVE BEEN AN EXTREME LARGE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS OF THE MURANO DRIVERS SEATS BREAKING. WHY HAS THIS ISSUE NOT BEEN DEFINED AS A FACTORY DEFECT AND A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS WILL IT TAKE, TO MAKE NISSAN TO ISSUE A RECALL. SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING AND AM HOPING THAT NHTSA WILL DO AN INVESTIGATION AND FORCE NISSAN TO TAKE THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY. A CAR WITH ONLY 69 THOUSAND MILES ON IT AND 7 YEARS OLD SHOULD NOT NEED A DRIVERS SEAT REPLACED UNLESS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. HOPE TO HEAR SOMETHING FAVORABLE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. BROKEN SEAT FRAME. WHILE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT THE DRIVER'S FRONT SEAT HAD A SNAPPING SOUND AND I BEGAN LEANING TOWARD THE LEFT. SEAT NOW ROCKS AND LEANS TOWARD THE LEFT. *TR
WHILE BACKING OUT OF OUR GARAGE. MY WIFE HEARD A NOISE LIKE SOMETHING BROKEN AND THE SEAT IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED TO THE LEFT. NOW THE SEAT WOBBLES AND NOW LEANS TO THE LEFT, THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. YOU DO NOT HAVE TOTAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHILE THE SEAT WOBBLES WHEN YOU DRIVE. AFTER MY INSPECTION THE REAR CROSS SUPPORT ARM IS BROKEN WHERE IT MOUNTS TO THE LEFT TRACK ASSEMBLY. I AM A SERVICE MANAGER IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY. I AM INVOLVED IN FACTORY RECALLS AT THE DEALERSHIP. I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN DEFINED AS A FACTORY DEFECT AND A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. NISSAN NEEDS TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE BEFORE THIS RESULTS IN A CASUALTY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000. ..UPDATED 12-30-13 *BF THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY THEREFORE THE CASE WAS CLOSED. THE VERY COMMON ISSUE OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BROKE AND IS NOT PROPERLY ADHERED TO THE FRAME OF THE CAR. THIS POSSESSES A VITAL THREAT TO OPERATING THIS VEHICLE. I WOULD ASK THAT THIS BE CONSIDERED FOR A RECALL FROM NISSAN AS THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE FOR MURANO OWNERS. *TR

DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. ABS LIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS, AND ODOMETER STOPPED WORKING. SMELLED BURNING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. TOOK IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHO DETERMINED THAT THE FUSE BOX WAS FAULTY, THE ABS MODULE WENT OUT AS WELL AS THE ECM. DEALERSHIP SAID THAT MY AIR BAGS WERE NOT FUNCTIONING SINCE THE INCIDENT, AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WHEN SEARCHING TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED, FOUND NUMEROUS INCIDENTS OF NISSAN VEHICLES HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. *TR
MY DRIVER SEAT HAS BROKEN TO THE POINT WHERE IT ROCKS BACK AND TILTS FORWARD. IT LOOKS LIKE THE REAR/LEFT SIDE BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE SEAT TO THE FLOOR HAS BROKE. THE SEAT WILL RANDOMLY SHIFT AROUND WHILE DRIVING. I FEEL THE SEAT WOULD NOT HOLD ME PROPERLY IN A ACCIDENT. *TR
FIRST IT WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOORS AND THEN THE DRIVER SIDE FLOORS - FRONT AND REAR - THERE IS A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF WATER GETTING INTO THE CAR. I HAD IT LOOKED AT BY THE DEALER AND THEY ASSUMED IT WAS THE SUNROOF - CLEARED THE LINE. ISSUE STILL WENT ON. I DID NOT KNOW AT FIRST BECAUSE THE WATER GOT TRAPPED UNDER THE RUGS. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER SHOP AND THEY CLEARED THE SUNROOF LINES. I HAD IT DETAILED AND THEN PUT MY RUGS BACK DOWN. THIS TIME I BELIEVE THERE WAS RESULTING MOLD IN MY CAR AND IS CAUSING SEVERE ALLERGY ISSUES FOR MYSELF AND MY SON.
THERE HAS BEEN OIL LEAKING FROM MY OIL TANK FOR OVER A YEAR. I WENT TO A SHOP AND THEY TOLD ME IT IS THE O-RING OR SEAL ON THE OIL TANK AND THAT THEY TEND TO GO ON THIS MODEL CAR. IT IS A $400 FIX. IF THIS IS COMMON IN THE MURANOS IT SHOULD BE A RECALL, WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BRACKET FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE SEATS FRAME FRACTURED CAUSING THE SEAT TO FALL BACKWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 15 MPH AND CRASHED INTO AN UNKNOWN OBJECT. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE CONTACT'S HEAD STRUCK THE WINDSHIELD. IN ADDITION, THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO SECURE THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT WAS NOT TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT OF INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT WAS FOUND TO BE FRACTURE DUE TO CORROSION OF THE SEAT FRAME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
DRIVER SEAT ANCHOR FAILURE DRIVER SEAT COLLAPSED TOWARDS DRIVER DOOR WHILE DRIVING FROM PA. TO FL. ON I-95. LOUD POP UNDER SEAT WHEN INCIDENT OCCURRED. I WILL HAVE IT REPAIRED BEFORE I RETURN TO PA. ACCORDING TO YOUR BULLETIN: NHTSA / PE 08065. THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ARE HIGH BUT YOU CLOSED THIS ISSUE ON 7/2/09. IF YOU LOOK FURTHER YOU WILL FIND THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2005 WITH ONLY SEVERAL ACCIDENTS REPORTED. NO FATALITIES YET. PLEASE CHECK THE ARFC WEB SITE FOR ANOTHER 267 COMPLAINTS. THIS FINDING NEEDS TO BE REOPENED AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. TRANSFER CASE LEAK ON 2007 NISSAN MURANO SL AWD, 3-4 MONTHS AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. NISSAN IS REFUSING TO FIX IT. HEAT PRODUCED IN CVT IS CAUSING SEALANT IN THE TRANSFER CASE AND ULTIMATELY TRANSFER CASE TO BREAK. NISSAN EXTENDED THE CVT WARRANTY BUT REFUSE CVT IS CAUSING THE TRANSFER CASE TO BREAK AND WAS NOT COVERED MY CVY EXTENDED WARRANTY. *TR
TURNING A CORNER ON PARKING LOT. HEARD A LOT POP AND MY SEAT COLLAPSED, SHIFTING ME INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THE SEAT FELL TO THE FLOOR AND ROCKS EVERY TIME I DRIVE OVER UNEVEN PAVEMENT AND/OR MAKES TURNS. I ALMOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE WHEN THIS HAPPENED. *TR
PULLED OUT ONTO A ROADWAY WITH A 60 MPH SPEED LIMIT. THIS VEHICLE IS FAST AND HAS QUICK THROTTLE RESPONSE, SO KNOWING THAT I COULD MAKE IT, WHILE A CAR WAS APPROACHING, I PULLED OUT AND ACCELERATED QUICKLY. THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE NEAR THE POWER THAT IT NORMALLY DID AND IMMEDIATELY MADE A LOUD SCREECHING SOUND AND CLICKING AS IF METAL WAS SCRAPING ADJACENT METAL. LUCKILY, I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND HIT IT AGAIN, AND IT OPERATED FINE. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT AND NOBODY WAS HURT. THE PROBLEM HAS SLOWLY PERSISTED AND GOTTEN WORSE. THAT'S WHAT RECALLS ARE FOR AND THAT IS WHAT RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM FOR THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE WILL TELL YOU NEEDS TO HAPPEN. THE RECALL NEEDS TO TAKE PLACE. DO PEOPLE NEED TO DIE FIRST? THE SEAT BASED WELD FAILED ON THE LEFT REAR CORNER CAUSING AN UNSAFE CONDITION. IN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, THERE ARE MANY, MANY SIMILAR INCIDENTS REPORTED ON THE WEB. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL CONDITION AS IT RENDERS THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF MY 17 YEAR-OLD NEW DRIVER WAS IN AN ACCIDENT...THE SEAT COULD EASILY BREAK LOOSE. *TR
WHEN I TURNED MY ENGINE OFF, GOT OUT THE TRUCK AND LOCKED THE DOORS THE VEHICLE TURNED BACK ON WITHOUT ME BEING IN THE TRUCK OR PUTTING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. I DO NOT HAVE AN AUTO STARTER. THIS HAPPENED ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE FIRST TIME WE DIDN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE IT HAPPENED AND IT DRAINED THE BATTERY, THE SECOND TIME WE THOUGHT WE WERE HALLUCINATING AND THE LAST INCIDENT ON MONDAY, JULY 15, 2013, IT WAS 8:30 AM AND I WAS EXITING THE VEHICLE TO GO IN TO MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT WHEN THE VEHICLE TURNED BACK ON. I INSTANTLY THOUGHT I LOCKED THE KEYS IN THE TRUCK WHEN I NOTICED THEY WERE IN MY HANDS. I UNLOCKED THE DOORS TRIED TURNING IT OFF THREE TIMES AND FINALLY ON THE FOURTH TRY IT STAYED OFF AND DIDN'T TURN BACK ON. I FELT BAD BECAUSE I THOUGHT MY DAUGHTER WAS TRYING TO SCARE ME ABOUT THE CAR STARTING ON ITS OWN. THERE'S ALSO AN ISSUE WITH THE CAR PULLING TO THE RIGHT ALL BY ITSELF. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY SITUATIONAL AWARENESS WAS EXTREMELY COMPROMISED WHEN MY DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR INADVERTENTLY CAME DOWN AND WOULD NO LONGER STAY IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. I HAD TO DRIVE WITH IT THIS WAY FOR THE REST OF MY TRIP (OVER 2 HOURS) WITH HEAVY RAIN. IT WAS DANGEROUS AS MY VISIBILITY WAS SUBSTANTIALLY OBSTRUCTED WITH THE VISOR. A QUICK SEARCH IN THE INTERNET REVEALED THAT THIS IS A SOMEWHAT COMMON OCCURRENCE DUE TO POOR VISOR DESIGN AND NISSAN SEEMS TO BE OVERLOOKING THE ISSUE. REPLACEMENT VISORS ARE SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS AND SEEM TO FAIL ALIKE IN THE SAME SPOT (THE ARM HEADLINER ATTACHMENT). IF NISSAN WON'T RE-ENGINEER THE PART TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, THEY SHOULD REPLACE IT FREE OF CHARGE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BOUND TO REOCCUR. *TR
THE DRIVERS SEAT BRACKET FAILED PREMATURELY. THE DRIVERS SEAT BROKE TOWARDS THE BACK LEFT CORNER CLOSEST TO THE PASSENGER DOOR AND THE SEAT CURRENTLY ROCKS CORNER TO CORNER. THE WELDING OF THE FRAMES CROSS MEMBER SNAPPED APART WHILE IN PARK, RIGHT BEFORE PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE. THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND IS A HUGE CONCERN AND APPARENTLY (ACCORDING TO OTHERS ONLINE) IS A COMMON DEFECT/FLAW OF THE 2003-2007 MURANOS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK I HEARD A LOUD POP INSIDE THE CAR AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DRIVERS SEAT LEANED TO THE BACK LEFT AND I HAD TO BRACE MYSELF AND THE CAR FROM SWERVING. AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE SEAT KEPT ROCKING SIDE TO SIDE ON THE LEFT . WHEN I GOT TO WORK AND PARKED I NOTICED THE SEAT WAS TILTED AND LOSE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO ANYONE DRIVING AS I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT WHEN BRACING MYSELF AS A RESULT OF THE SEAT BREAKING. THE FUEL GAUGE/SENSOR IS NOT READING PROPERLY. IT WILL SHOW THE TANK AS EMPTY EVEN WHEN IT IS NOT. I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT NISSAN DIRECTLY, HOWEVER THEY WILL NOT ADDRESS THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE THREE OTHER MODELS OF CAR THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED FROM THE SAME YEAR DUE TO THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY HAVE ALSO ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE BUT REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO REMEDY IT ON MY VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVING WELL AND THE FUEL SENSOR WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS WERE REPLACED AT THAT TIME, HOWEVER THE FUEL SENSOR WAS NOT AS IT WAS AN ADDITIONAL EXPENSE WE COULD NOT PAY FOR OUT OF POCKET. THESE ARE BOTH KNOWN PROBLEMS TO NISSAN AND HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED ON OTHER SUV'S OF THE SAME MODEL YEAR.
