I am reporting a serious safety defect with my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder (VIN: [XXX] ). My vehicle has an open recall for the airbag emblem (NHTSA #23E-012 / PC948), which is scheduled for inspection. However, I am writing today because I am also experiencing a repeated and dangerous malfunction that is unrelated to that recall: Total loss of dashboard lights and instruments while driving No throttle response even though the engine remains running Temporary function restored only by turning the vehicle off and restarting it on the roas This behavior matches known electrical failures in this model year, often related to the IPDM, ignition switch, or ECM communication. These are not cosmetic or maintenance issues—they are life-threatening. My vehicle has done this multiple times, including at highway speeds. When I contacted South Colorado Springs Nissan, I was told they would only inspect the airbag emblem and would not evaluate this issue unless I paid for diagnostics. I find this unacceptable given Nissan’s history with these failures and the high likelihood this is a known and unresolved defect. I am requesting: That this issue be escalated within Nissan North America That Nissan consider this under a goodwill safety repair, if not covered by existing recall or campaign That the vehicle be diagnosed immediately, and Nissan be held accountable for any known defects I am also reporting this to NHTSA as a safety concern. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to immediately restart. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The dynamic control warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Voluntary Recall Campaign: PC068. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 170,000.

The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed the front passenger’s side air bag was defective and needed to be replaced. The air bag was not replaced due to the cost. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 175,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact received recall notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23E012000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The component that is malfunctioning is the emblem on the airbags. Nissan has known of this issue for a while. In the event of a crash, when the airbags deploy, the emblem will also explode with the airbags and send shrapnel from it flying towards the driver and nearby passengers. If the crash wouldn't kill the driver, then this issue could as it could hit the driver in a vital part. They are taking too long to fix this issue, as it is such a vital problem that can cost people their lives.
Car stalled out and won't restart.

The check engine warning light was illuminated along with other several unknown warning lights. Additionally, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
Air Bag Front Impact Sensor has failed due to road salt. Not covered under recall because someone doesn't think Virginia uses road salt.
I got this vehicle from my parents which they bought brand new . So no other owners . When I got it was acting up and took to repair . They said my radiator was bad and had leaked radiator fluid . They thought could replace radiator and flush the system . I started looking at issues online . I found so many people with the same problems . I also found that Nissan was aware of a faulty crack in radiator. Which is the exact problem I had . I already spent 1000 $ in repairs with radiator and flushing system . I Am now out that money and the transmission has been effected by this issue . Tried everything possible with flushing system . Unfortunately this crack was the problem that has now left me with a perfect car that needs a transmission. So disappointed that Nissan ignores all the issues that unfortunately happened after 100,000 miles . Especially when they claim to know the radiator crack is a faulty part . That crack destroyed a perfect vehicle . Nissan should be accountable of these issues especially when their faulty part not only needed a new radiator but leaked into transmission . I am still sitting with this car . Unsafe to drive and unsafe to sell .
Transmission began to fail suddenly, resulting in a situation where the car would not accelerate in busy traffic.
While driving on US 95 in DC, MD and NJ, when the traffic became stop and go, my SUV could not get into 1st gear to go. The engine revved, the car shook and made noises. Several times I came close to being rear-ended. This problem also occurs when starting after a red light, when accelerating on a highway (usually 3rd or 4th gear), and when turning left on a green arrow. Not only has it caused many close calls with being rear-ended, but it has also incited road rage in people who are driving behind me. Now I'm told I need a new transmission and also a new coolant system which leaks due to a fault in the system known by Nissan, and pollutes the transmission. This is a terrible safety threat and Nissan should own up to it and pay for the repairs.
OVER HEATS, COOLENT LEAKED INTO TRANSMISSION CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO GO OUT
STARTED UP DROVE FINE THEN WHEN I STOPPED IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. TURNED OFF WENT THROUGH GEARS COUPLE TIMES AND HAD TO DO THAT 3 TIMES BEFORE IT WOULD ACCELERATE AND SHIFT. I DROVE 50 MILES HOME NEXT DAY IT DID SAME THING AFTER DRIVING 1/2 MILE. GOES INTO REVERSE BUT WILL NOT GO OVER 5 MILES PER HOUR MOVING FORWARD.
VEHICLE CUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND ALSO FROM TIME TO TIME, WILL HESITATE OR REFUSE TO CRANK/START. NOTICED A RECALL IN 2010 FOR ECM, WHICH IS DOCUMENTED TO HAVE BEEN REPAIRED IN 2014. HOWEVER THESE EXACT SAME ISSUES ARE TAKING PLACE WITH THE VEHICLE NOW IN 2020, DOES THIS MEAN THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED WITH YET ANOTHER FAULTY ECM. THIS VEHICLE PLACES MY FAMILY IN DANGER WHILE DRIVING.
VEHICLE STARTED TO SMOKE, THEN CAUGHT ON FIRE. TOTAL LOSS 7/12/2020. NOT AN ACCIDENT. VEHICLE JUST CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE DRIVING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR CONTROL ARM WAS SEVERELY CORRODED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING THE VEHICLE THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR SUSPENSION. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 178,000. *BF Consumer stated vehicle had recalls through it's history and believes front suspension and brakes were welded.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP SIGN WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE ENGINE REVVED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD INTO TRAFFIC AND SUDDENLY STOPPED. THE MAINTENANCE, 4WD, AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE GEAR SHIFTER SYMBOLS WERE BLANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID HAD A BURNING ODOR. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO DAYS LATER. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BECAME STUCK IN FIRST GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,000.
TIMING CHAIN FAILED WAS AT HOME IN DRIVEWAY AND IT FAILED
RADIATOR INTERNALLY FAILED CAUSING FLUIDS TO MIX. COOLANT WAS RUN THROUGH THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING IT TO FAIL.
I HAS TO REPLACE THE 2 GASKETS ON THE OIL GALLEY GASKET IN THE TIMING COVER. IT COAT ME OVER 1000 DOLLARS AND I HAD A 2005 NISSAN XTERRA THAT HAD 5HE SAME PROBLEM AND IT COST BE THOUSANDS TO FIX AND I HAD TO JUNK IT BECAUSE IT SMOKED SO MUCH THEN VALVE TRAIN GOT F RIED..
ANOTHER CAR STOPPED QUICKLY IN FRONT OF ME. I HIT THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT DIRECTLY TO THE FLOOR AND I HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. UPON INSPECTION AFTER THE ACCIDENT I SAW THAT BOTH BOLTS HOLDING THE MASTER CYLINDER TO THE VACUUM CANISTER WERE BROKEN, (PULLED APART).
I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE HAVING NO IDEA OF THIS ISSUE, I DIDN'T INVESTIGATE BECAUSE THIS IS OUR 7TH NISSAN AND THEY HAVE BEEN GOOD CARS. I WAS DRIVING 75 MPH TO WORK AT RUSH HOUR AND THE TRANS STARTED LETTING LOOSE AND SHUDDERING SO BAD I HAD TO PULL OVER ONTO THE SHOULD AND THAT'S JUST AS SAFE AS DRIVING THIS THING. PAID A LOT OF MONEY TO HAVE IT SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. BUT EVERYONE THAT ASKS WHY I TELL THEM BECAUSE NISSAN DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. WE INTENDED FOR OUR 14 Y/O TO DRIVE IT BUT NO WAY IN THE WORLD WOULD I LET THAT HAPPEN
COMPLETE LOSS POWER AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS SHOP, THE DIAGNOSE WAS A FAILED TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLER INTEGRATED INTO THE RADIATOR THAT ALLOWED ENGINE COOLANT TO MIX WITH AND CONTAMINATE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE VEHICLE DID NOT REPORT ANY WARNING SIGNS BEFORE THE FAILURES OTHER THAN A SUDDEN LOSS OF ABILITY TO MOVE THE VEHICLE. MY PATHFINDER IS 2005 WITH ONLY 81000 BECAUSE I AM IN THE MILITARY AND I DID NOT DRIVE IT, AND I HAVE NO REPORT OF A RECALL.

AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF DUE TO NO FUEL BEING INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK UNDERNEATH THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE INSPECTED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WAS COMING FROM THE BRAKE LINES. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID LEAK DAMAGED THE BATTERY. THE MECHANIC REPAIRED BRAKE LINE AND REPLACED THE BATTERY HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE BATTERY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE SECOND FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO ANDERSON NISSAN (3842 AZ-95, LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ 86404) WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A LOOSE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION WITH THE BATTERY RELAY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND RETURNED TO THE CONTACT HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED THE NEXT DAY. THE CONTACT HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED ONCE AGAIN HOWEVER, THE BATTERY FAILED FOR THE THIRD TIME. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THEY DISCOVERED A DEFECTIVE RADIATOR WHICH CAUSED FLUID TO LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN DIAGNOSED WITH ENGINE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
COOLANT DAMAGE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR LOST POWER IN MOTION
KNOWN TO NISSAN CORP, A DESIGN DEFECT MAKES THE ENGINE RADIATOR RUST AND LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION. MY CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED AND I JUS TOOK IT TO PERFORM THE 90,000 MILES SERVICE. COOLANT FLUID WAS FOUND IN THE TRANSMISSION OIL AND DEALER QUOTED ME $6,884.59. AFTER A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT I JUST LEARNED ABOUT, NISSAN HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY WITH PARTIAL COPAY UP TO 10YEARS/100,000 MILES WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. MY VEHICLE IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY. THIS IS SOMETHING UNACCEPTABLE AND NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND FIX IT FOR FREE FOR LIFE.
WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT ON THE WAY TO WORK. LIGHT TURNS GREEN TRIES TO ACCELERATE AND HARDLY ANYTHING HAPPENS BESIDES A WHINING NOISE. RADIATOR FLUID HAS LEAKED INTO TRANSMISSION FLUID CAUSING A MILKSHAKE LIKE FLUID MIX. NOW NISSAN DEALER WANTS ME TO REPLACE RADIATOR, AND TRANSMISSION ON MY ON DIME. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL FORUMS WHERE THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE. NOW NISSAN HAS NOT RECALLED THIS VEHICLE FOR ANY SAFETY FIXES OF THE NATURE.
I DRIVE THE CAR AND PARK AND THEN WHEN I GO TO START THE CAR AGAIN IT DOESN'T START SO I HAVE TO CALL A TOW COMPANY TO GET A JUMP TO START THE CAR AND STARTS RIGHT UP. I HAVE TAKEN TO NISSAN MANY TIMES AND THEY SAID NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED MANY TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.I GOT STUCK THE LAST TIME AND IT WAS FAR SO I HAD TO LEAVE IT AT A FAMILY MEMBERS HOUSE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM AND NISSAN DOES NOT HONOR THEIR MANUFACTURE WARRANTY AND ALSO THE EXTENDED WARRANTY I HAD. I WOULD LIKE NISSAN TO BUY BACK MY CAR BECAUSE I CAN'T EVEN SELL IT LIKE THIS AND I NEED A CAR TO GET AROUND I'M DISABLED ALSO. I'M TOTALLY DISCUSSED WITH NISSAN.
IN THE LAST 4 YEARS I'VE REPLACED EMISSIONS SYSTEM BRAKES ROTORS AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM EXHAUST SYSTEM RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION. CAR WAS VIBRATING SHAKING CUTTING OUT LEAKING EXHAUST FUMES AND EMISSIONS SYSTEM FAILED.
MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER STARTED STALLING WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS OFTEN HAPPENED ON BUSY STREETS AND IN BUSY INTERSECTIONS. I WOULD HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, TURN THE IGNITION, AND THEN PUT THE CAR BACK IN DRIVE. SOMETIMES I WOULD HAVE TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD CHILD, AND THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS FOR US. I TOOK THE CAR TO HERITAGE NISSAN FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND WAS CHARGED $115 TO BE TOLD THAT MY ANTIFREEZE HAD MIXED WITH MY TRANSMISSION FLUID CAUSING MY TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. I THEN LEARNED THAT THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED BECAUSE OF A FAULTY RADIATOR USED BY NISSAN IN SEVERAL OF THEIR VEHICLES, ONE BEING MY PATHFINDER. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO ISSUE A SAFETY RECALL, EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A VERY OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AT HAND. HERITAGE NISSAN QUOTED ME A STARTING PRICE OF $5000 FOR THE REPAIRS NEEDED. REPAIRS THAT ARE NEEDED BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY RADIATOR USED BY NISSAN. OF COURSE, MY CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, AND NISSAN IS AWARE THAT THE RADIATOR CAN FAIL OUT OF MILEAGE RANGE OF THEIR WARRANTY. I AM NOW A SINGLE MOM WITHOUT A VEHICLE, PARTLY TO NISSAN'S NEGLIGENCE.
TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING. WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, RADIATOR FLUID HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO REPLACE NOT ONLY THE TRANSMISSION BUT THE RADIATOR, HOSES, ETC.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE WITH 2 SMALL CHILDREN IN THE SUV. I HAD ONLY HAD THE SUV FOR 4-6 MONTHS. TRANSMISSION WAS REPAIRED BY DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT . SHORTLY AFTER THE RADIATOR NEEDED REPAIR. IT WAS REPAIRED, AND NISSAN HELPED WITH PARTIAL COST. RECENTLY (02/19/2018)TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AGAIN WHILE YIELDING IN A BUSY INTERSECTION TO GO ON THE HIGHWAY. TRANSMISSION WENT OUT A SECOND TIME ON 02/22/2018 AGAIN. I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT, THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I BEGAN TO PUSH ON THE GAS TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN IN A BUSY INTERSECTION AND ONCE AGAIN, THE SUV ONLY COASTED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT, PAID 110.00 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND WAS INFORMED ONCE AGAIN THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. A 6,000.00$ JOB. THE TRANSMISSION HAS ONLY BEEN ABOUT 4-5 YEARS OLD PRESENTLY. I AM OUT OF A VEHICLE.
MY NISSAN CRANKS BUT DON'T START, DON'T KNOW WAS WRONG.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (MELLOY NISSAN, 7707 LOMAS BLVD NE, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87110, (505) 545-6420) FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND INQUIRED ABOUT FAILURES WITH THE TRANSMISSION; HOWEVER, THE DEALER FOUND NO FAILURES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED AND WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE RADIATOR WAS CRACKED AND THE FLUID SEEPED INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE REPAIR COST WOULD EXCEED $5,000. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,957.
MY VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY DIAGNOSED STATING THAT THE RADIATOR HAD LEAKED FLUID INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD COST $6,200 TO REPAIR. MY VEHICLE HAS 85,000 MILES. I WAS NEVER MADE AWARE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN I COULD HAVE HAD IT CHECKED (THE DEALERSHIP DID REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID ONCE SO THE ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF THEN WHEN IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY). THERE IS A VIBRATION WHEN THE RPMS SETTLE AROUND 1000-1500 AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS WARMED UP. IT IS INTERMITTENT, BUT WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE NISSAN DEALER MECHANIC AS THE ISSUE.
MY ENGINE STOPS WHILE IN MOTION. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT A SPEED OF 60 AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY TRUCK JUST LOOSES POWER, THE DASHBOARD TURNED OFF AND SPEED STARTED TO LOWER I PUSHED ON THE GAS AND IT WOULDN'T RESPOND. I WAS ABLE TO STEER TO THE SHOULDER, MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS WOULDN'T EVEN TURN ON. AS I WAS CALLING MY HUSBAND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT TURNED ON ON IT'S ON. IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. THERE WAS A RECALL THEY FIX BACK ON 2011 DEALING WITH THE ECM RELAY. I CALLED VIVA NISSAN ON ZARAGOZA LOCATED IN EL PASO, TX AND THE GIRL WOULDN'T HELP SHE TOLD ME TO CALL 1800NISSAN1.
WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND SPORADICALLY AS I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT WILL JERK AND THEN SHUT OFF, LEAVING ME WITH NO CONTROL OVER THE STEERING OR BRAKES. SOMETIMES IT WILL BE HARD TO START BUT WILL EVENTUALLY START AND THIS IS ALSO A RANDOM OCCURANCE. MY MAIN CONCERN IS IT SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING AND LEAVING ME WITH NO CONTROL.
TRAQNSMITTION OIL IN COOLANT HAD TO HAVE SHOP FLUSH OUT RAIADIATOR AND COOLANT SYSTEM AND REPLACE OIL COOLER TRANSMITION SEEMS TO BE SLIPING
THE ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE BEGAN AT 133834 MILES. WHEN DRIVING, AT TIMES IT WOULD VIBRATE OUT OF NOWHERE. AFTER A STOP, IT WOULD SHIFT UP HARD OR FAIL TO DOWNSHIFT AND THEN HIT HARD WHEN IT FINALLY WOULD GO IN TO GEAR. ONCE I TOOK IT IN TO A MECHANIC, THE FOLLOWING CODES CAME UP: P1731 - 1ST GEAR LOGIC ERROR, P0430- CAT EFFICIENCY BANK 2, P0455- EVAP SYSTEM LEAK LARGE. THE RECOMMENDATION WAS "TEAR DOWN". IN THE END, I HAD TO REPLACE MY: TRANSMISSION, RADIATOR, TORQUE CONVERTER, VALVE BODY, VALVE BODY SOLENOIDS, CATALYTIC CONVERTER BANK 2, EXHAUST GASKETS, OIL PRESSURE SENSOR, AND OXYGEN SENSOR. WITH A TOTAL COST OF $4,824.65. I WILL UPLOAD THE SERVICES MY NISSAN PATHFINDER HAD TO HAVE.
TAKATA RECALL IM WRITTING THIS COMPLAINT IN REGARDS TO MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER SE. ON 10/2/2017 MY VEHICLE GAVE ME SOME ISSUES OF NOT WANTING TO TURN ON. THE SERVICE AGENT ([XXX]) ALSO GAVE ME THE SAME DIAGNOSIS (THE MODULE IPDM) NEEDED TO GET CHANGED. THEY GAVE ME A PRICE ON THE COST AND TOLD ME THE DATE MY TRUCK WOULD BE READY FOR PICK UP. MY TRUCK WAS IN THEIR SHOP SINCE 10/25/2017 AND THEY TOLD MY MY CAR WOULD BE READY 10/31/2017 AFTER 12:30 PM. SO I CALLED TO GET AN UPDATE SO I COULD PICK UP MY TRUCK. AFTER ALL THIS TIME ([XXX]) TOLD ME THAT MY TRUCK ACTUALLY NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND THE RADIATOR MIXED TOTALLY RUINING MY ENGINE. AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY ($5,900) TO FIX IT. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND CAME ACROSS AND ARTICLE THAT SAYS THAT THE NCCC HAS RECEIVED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS IN REGARDS TO THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE I HAVE. RADIATOR FLUID HAS LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION, COMPROMISING THE INTEGRITY OF THE TRANSMISSION. I FEEL A SHUDDER WHEN THE TRANSMISSION HITS 40 MPH - 60 MPH.
MY VEHICLE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD OVER THE WEEKEND AS I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY. I CONTACTED MY DEALER I PURCHASED FROM TO SEE IF A RECALL EXISTED. THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT AFFECTED EVEN THOUGH OTHER PATHFINDERS DID RECEIVE A RECALL. I BELIEVE MINE SHOULD HAVE ONE AS WELL SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO ME AND MY FAMILY!!!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CORROSION OF THE AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MECHANIC PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH A COPY OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V690000 (AIR BAGS) AND INFORMED HIM TO CONTACT A DEALER. THE DEALER (WAIKEM AUTO FAMILY, 3708 LINCOLN WAY E, MASSILLON, OH 44646 (330) 478-0281) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT RECALLS WERE VIN SPECIFIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT WAS UNSURE IF THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 138,000. CAR HAS EXPERIENCED LEAKAGE FROM THE TRANSMISSION COOLER RADIATOR TO THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. WE WILL NEED TO HAVE IT REBUILT, WHICH WILL COST US $4,500+. WE MAY ALSO NEED TO HAVE THE RADIATOR REPLACED. NISSAN KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM YEARS AGO. THEY DIDN'T DO A RECALL OR ISSUE A SERVICE BULLETIN TO OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES, WHICH IS UNCONSCIONABLE BEHAVIOR.
MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON ME WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, AFTER IT STARTED TO SMOKE LIKE BURNING PLASTIC. I TOOK TO MY MECHANIC AND HE CHECKED IT OUT AND I WAS TOLD MY RAIDATOR BRUSTED IN MY TRANSMISSION. IT'S NOT DRIVE ABLE AT ALL.

AFTER THE CONTACT PLACED FUEL IN THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATOR ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHOWED EMPTY THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE ECM RELAY MAY ALLOW SILICON VAPOR TO FORM AND, OVER TIME, THE SILICON EVAPORATES FROM THE DIODE MOLDING WHICH CAUSES SILICON OXIDE TO DEVELOP ON THE ECM RELAY CONTACT DUE TO ARCING. SAFETY RISK: THIS COULD CAUSE ENGINE STALLING INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. REMEDY: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ECM RELAY INSIDE THE IPDM ASSEMBLY.
LAST WINTER (DEC 2016) MY AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON. IN MARCH 2017 I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT, WHERE I HIT A GUARDRAIL HEAD ON AT 40-50 MPH ON A HIGHWAY. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
