I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND MY TRANSMISSION OIL LEAKED INTO MY RADIATOR CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO TOTALLY REPLACE MY RADIATOR AND I HAD TO HAVE MY TRANSMISSION FLUSHED BUT IT STILL DAMAGED MY TRANSMISSION. THIS WAS A MANUFACTURE ERROR BUT NISSAN REFUSED TO PAY BECAUSE IT HAD OVER 80,000 MILES. I HAVE THREE NISSAN IN OUR FAMILY BUT I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER. I ALSO AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONER CONTROLS IN BOTH MY 2005 AND 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDERS. THE CONTROL QUIT WORKING IN BOTH!!!! SO DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN!!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE WOULD ONLY INDICATE THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS HALF FULL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL WITH GASOLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE FUEL SENSOR SENDING UNIT WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER: SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CODE P0463 WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAILED FUEL SENDING UNIT. FAILURE RESULTED IN INACCURATE MEASUREMENT OF FUEL PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE'S FUEL TANK. THE TOTAL COST OF PARTS AND LABOR TO REPLACE THE FAILED SENDING UNIT AT A NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS JUST LESS THAN $600. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR AN ENGINE FLUSH WHEN HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR HEATING PIPES WERE LEAKING ABNORMALLY. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE PIPES WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE REPAIR OF THE VEHICLE AND THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE CONTACT STATED THE PIPES WERE LEAKING DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE FRAME AND COULD CAUSE A CRASH BY LEAKING FLUIDS ONTO THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. TRANSMISSION FAILURE DUE TO COOLANT CONTAMINATION. RADIATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION . MANY OTHER PROBLEMS WITH CAR. THE FUEL SENDING UNIT, AIR CONDITIONING/HEATER FAN, DRIVE SHFTS/UNIVERSAL JOINTS, BRAKES. JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING HAS FAILED AND COST ME MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF CASH. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED SHE NOTICED TRANSMISSION FLUID ON THE GROUND. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT SHE NEEDED A RECEIPT. HOWEVER, THE DEALER WOULD OR IDENTIFY WHAT TYPE OF RECEIPT SHE NEEDED. TWO DAYS LATER SHE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER; HOWEVER, THE DEALER REFUSED TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT REFERENCED RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10E019000, SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER ARM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,600 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,774.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN SLIPPING AND THE VEHICLE ALSO STALLED WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH. THE FAILURES WERE A RECURRING ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RADIATOR FLUID WAS LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND THE RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,200.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT HAS MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING THE GAS TANK TO GIVE AN INACCURATE READING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING IT'S DIFFICULT TO TELL HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT NOTICED A RECALL FOR THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ON THE 2006 MODEL BUT NOT THE 2005 MODEL PATH FINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD REISSUE THE RECALL TO LATER MODEL VEHICLES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER TRANSMISSION/COOLANT FAILURE. AS I HAVE READ ON A NUMBER OF SITES (WWW.CONSUMERAFFAIRS.COM/.../NISSAN_PATHFINDER.HTML) THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. THE RADIATOR FAILS CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TO MIX WITH THE COOLANT WHICH CAUSES FAILURE TO THE TRANSMISSION AND COOLING SYSTEM. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT THOUSANDS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT. LETS GET SOMETHING DONE. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO HANDLE THE SITUATION!!!! *TR
THE MOLDED FUEL TANK SHELL HAS DEFORMED, CAUSING THE FUEL SENDER FLOAT ARM TO CONTACT AN EMBOSSMENT MOLDED INTO THE TANK SHELL CAUSING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE TO SHOW THAT THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY ONE QUARTER TANK WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY. THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO RUN OUT OF GAS AND STALL IN TRAFFIC, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. THIS IS THE SAME CONDITION AND PARTS THAT ARE ON THE 2006 PATHFINDER. NISSAN ISSUED A RECALL TO REPLACE THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT INSIDE THE FUEL TANK WITH A NEW ONE THAT HAS A MODIFIED FLOAT ARM.ON THE 2006 AND 2008 YEAR MODELS OF PATHFINDER BUT NOT THE 2005. THE RECALL NOTICE ISSUED WAS NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NO: 10V075000. HOW CAN THIS CONDITION BE ACCEPTABLE FOR THE 2005 MODEL AND CONSIDERED UNSAFE FOR LATER YEAR MODELS? *TR
FLAT UNRESPONSIVE GAS PEDAL RESPONSE EXCESSIVE DRIVELINE VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHEEL AND TIRE SHAKE DEALERSHIP STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. OCCURRED ON A REGULAR BASIS UNTIL FAILURE OCCURRED. SECOND SERVICING DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED FAILED TRANSMISSION RADIATOR AND COMPLETE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT/REPAIR. *TR
MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH 55,000 MILES. I NOTICE A VIBRATION UNDER THE VEHICLE WHICH WOULD LAST FOR 2-3 SECONDS EVERYTIME I WOULD DRIVE IT. I THOUGHT NOTHING ABOUT IT, UNTIL IT GOT WORST. NOW THE VEHICLE STALLS AND VIBRATES MORE FREQUENTLY WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAYS AND MAJOR ROADS. I WENT ON-LINE TO RESEARCH THE PROBLEM AND DISCOVERED THE CAUSE WAS FROM A LEAK FROM THE RADIATOR INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND CAUSED THE SLIPPAGE AND THE VIBRATIONS. THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO OWN A NISSAN PATHFINDER HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND HAVE GONE TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE ISSUE, AS I HAD. THE ONLY THING NISSAN WILL DO IS REPLACE THOSE PARTS, BUT WE THE CONSUMER WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, ALTHOUGH IT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER ISSUE IN RELATION TO NISSAN USING INFERIOR QUALITY OF PARTS. IT WILL COST ME $5,600 FOR PARTS AND LABOR TO FIX A NISSAN PROBLEM. *TR
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER DEFECTED RADIATORS LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION, RUSTING COMPONENTS LEADING TO TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND FAILURE, I WAS ON THE MASS PIKE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 60 WHEN MY PATHFINDER JUST PULL BACK LIKE YOU DROPPED IT IN LOW, 18 WHEELER ALMOST DROVE RIGHT THREW MY BACK OF PATHFINDER, THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THEN ONE TIME, SOMETIMES WHILE STOPPED IN TRAFFIC IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS PULLING FORWARD WITHOUT PUTTING YOUR FOOT ON THE GAS, I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE TO FIND THE SAME PROBLEM MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING IN THE RADIATOR THERE IS TRANSMISSION FLUID( LOOK) FOR WHITE MILKY SUBSTANCE ALSO ANTIFREEZE GOING INTO TRANSMISSION, PLEASE SEARCH THE WEB FOR 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDERS COMPLAINTS AND PROBLEMS, THIS IS VARY DANGEROUS TO BE DRIVING IT IS UNPREDICTABLE WHEN IT HAPPENS AND I WAS TOLD JUST A MATTER OF DAYS BEFORE I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE BOTH RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION, THIS IS A TOTAL DEFECT ON NISSAN, NOT FAIR AT ALL, THRESHOLD BE A RECALL ON THIS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
I RECENTLY RECEIVED A RECALL ON MY ARMADA 2006 FOR THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT. I ALSO HAVE A 2005 PATHFINDER AND I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM NOT SURE WHY THE PATHFINDER WHICH IS A 2005 WOULD NOT BE ON THE RECALL LIST ALSO, I HAD TO PAY ALMOST $600 TO REPAIR AT THE DEALER. I WOULD THINK THEY WOULD BE THE SAME TYPE OF FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT FROM THE SAME MANUFACTURER. *TR
WELL, WELL, THANK GOODNESS FOR SITES LIKE THIS. I TOOK MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER SE TO THE DEALERSHIP....CAR HAD BEEN BUCKING AND STALLING RANDOMLY. THEY PLAYED STUPID AT THE DEALERSHIP, EVEN HAD THE GALL TO SUGGEST AFTER RUNNING THE $95 DIAGNOSTICS THAT MY CAR WAS FINE. YEAH RIGHT. I JUST HAD NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN DROP OFF A CAR IN WORKING CONDITION... THEY SUGGESTED I LEAVE THE CAR THERE OVERNIGHT AND THEY WOULD RUN THE DIAGNOSTIC AGAIN AND VOILA ...ITS THE IPDM! THEY WANT AROUND $600 TO FIX BECAUSE ITS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I'VE HAD TO CHANGE THE BATTERY AT 20K MILES, REPLACE THE FUEL SENSORS, TAKE THE CAR BACK AND FORTH MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE SENSORS WERE GOING OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON. APPARENTLY THIS ALL COMES BACK TO THAT FAULTY IPDM THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN LOOKED AT FROM THE BEGINNING--WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. NOW I'VE SPENT ALL THIS MONEY ON FIXING THINGS THAT THIS IPDM HAS CREATED AND NOW THEY FIND THE SOURCE IS THE IPDM CONVENIENTLY AFTER WARRANTY IS EXPIRED??? NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND I WAS TOLD BY A NISSAN USA CUSTOMER SERVICE REP THAT THIS PART IS ON BACKORDER BECAUSE OF WIDESPREAD DEMAND. HMMMM...COULD IT BE BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK, IS FAULTY AND SHOULD BE RECALLED???? YES. NISSAN SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO PUT A CAR LIKE THIS ON THE ROAD WITH THESE KNOWN PROBLEMS. 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER TRANSMISSION FAILURE 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS A PROBLEM WITH COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THIS TRANSMISSION COOLER IS LOCATED INSIDE THE RADIATOR. THE FAULTY DESIGN RUINS THE TRANSMISSION, NISSAN REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM AND ISSUE A RECALL. NISSAN AND THE DEALERSHIPS ARE AWARE OF THIS ONGOING PROBLEM, BUT STILL KEEP SELLING THEM TO UNAWARE CONSUMERS. MY TRANSMISSION IS DESTROYED AND I REPLACED THE RADIATOR AFTER WE FOUND COOLANT IN THE TRANSMISSION. I KEPT THE OLD RADIATOR. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER XE. THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL WAS FULL; YET, THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD REPAIRED FOR $500. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT IS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WE FELT A VIBRATION ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO. AT 40 MPH IT FELT LIKE WE WERE GOING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS. TOOK TO THE MECHANIC. HE SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. RADIATOR FLUID HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND BACK. BOTH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS THEY WERE RUINED. CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. REPAIR WILL COST $5,000. NISSAN WILL NOT COVER ANY OR ALL OF THE REPAIR. THE CAR ONLY HAS 67,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
DETAILS: VEHICLES FUEL SYSTEM IS FAULTY. I NOTICED THAT THE GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY AFTER HAVING A FULL TANK OF GAS, ADDITIONALLY THE DIGITAL "DISTANCE TO EMPTY" DISPLAY DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. AT TIMES THE LOW GAS INDICATOR WILL BE DISPLAYED EVEN AFTER I FILLED THE TANK UP. I HAVE BEEN IN TWO DIFFERENT SITUATIONS WHERE I RAN OUT OF GAS ON THE HIGHWAY THINKING THAT I HAD ENOUGH GAS FOR MY JOURNEY. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. NISSAN REPLACED THE PARTS ON 2006 & 2007 VEHICLES BUT REFUSE TO REPLACE MY 2005 DEVICE QUOTING THAT IT HAS HIGH MILES AND OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH THE VEHICLE STARTING SHAKING AS IF SHE WAS DRIVING OVER A GROOVED PAVEMENT. SHE DROVE HOME A PARKED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND SHE WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR NEEDED REPLACING BECAUSE THEY WERE LEAKING FLUIDS. THE COST FOR THE REPAIRS WAS $5,900. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THE GAS GAUGE HAD PREVIOUSLY STOPPED WORKING AND SHE PAID FOR THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE WOULD READ INACCURATE FUEL LEVELS. THE GAUGE WOULD READ THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL WHEN IT WAS EMPTY AND EMPTY WHEN FULL. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000 AND THE CURRENT WAS UNKNOWN.
THE COOLANT LINE IN THE RADIATOR GOT A LEAK AND MIXED TRANSMISSION FLUID WITH THE COOLANT CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR. NOT SURE IF THIS IS WHAT CAUSES A MISS FIRE IN CYLINDER # 2 BUT NOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THAT AS WELL. HOPEFULLY IT WAS CAUGHT IN TIME AS NOT TO DAMAGE THE TRANSMISSION. I HOPE NISSAN WILL OWN UP TO THIS PROBLEM AND MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS AND RESTITUTION TO PATHFINDER OWNERS. *TR
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER: FUEL GAUGE SENSOR PROBLEM. WHEN I FILL THE TANK THE GAS GAUGE DROPS BELOW "E" AND THE FUEL LIGHT COMES ON. THE DTE INDICATORS FLASHES - - - - LINES (INDICATING I AM AT 0 MILES TIL EMPTY), AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. ONCE I USE ABOUT 100 MILES OF THE GAS THE GAUGES WILL ALL CORRECT THEMSELVES. WE HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THIS AS IT IS NOT A RECALL. THERE ARE OVER A DOZEN ARTICLES ON LINE WHERE PEOPLE HAVE NOTED THE SAME IDENTICAL PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL GAUGES. NISSAN WILL NOT COVER THE PROBLEM - IT WILL COST APPROX $700 FOR US TO FIX. PLEASE PUSH NISSAN ALONG AND HAVE THEM RECALL THE VEHICLES EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
FUEL GAUGE HAS BEEN BEHAVING ERRATICALLY FOR OVER A YEAR. IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS IT WORKS SOME OF THE TIME AND DTE INDICATOR IS STUCK TO "----" ALL THE TIME. WHEN FUEL LEVEL DROPS BELOW 1/4 OF TANK, IT ALWAYS SHOWS EMPTY, AND EVEN AFTER FILLING UP, IT STILL SHOWS EMPTY FOR A LONG TIME. I CAN ONLY GUESS HOW MUCH FUEL I HAVE AT ALL TIMES, BASED ON OVERALL MPG RATING AND MILEAGE SINCE LAST FILL-UP. I'VE ALREADY GOT STUCK ONCE WITH NO GAS, THANKFULLY NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND HARD TO GET GAS TO THE CAR. THIS APPARENTLY IS AN ISSUE WITH THOUSANDS OF OWNERS OF 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDERS, LIKE MINE, YET NISSAN HASN'T RECALLED THIS UNITS, EVEN THOUGH THEY RECALLED 2006 AND LATER MODELS, WHICH INDICATES A MAJOR PATTERN OF FAILURE IN THEIR NISSAN PATHFINDER FUEL LEVEL SENSORS. THEY ARE FORCING ME TO REPLACE THE SENSOR AND PUMP AT A COST OF ALMOST $600 WHEN IT SHOULD BE A PART REPLACED AS A PART OF A RECALL. PLEASE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE OUT THERE WITH 2005 PATHFINDERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND NISSAN IS COMPLETELY IGNORING US!!!! *TR
NISSAN PATHFINDER COOLER/RADIATOR/TRANSMISSION ARE FAULTY AND NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT REFUSES TO WARRANTY EVERY COOLER, ONLY A PERCENTAGE OF THEM. NISSAN HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR VEHICLES UP TO 80,000 MILES OR 96 MONTHS. NISSAN SHOULD BE MADE TO RECALL ALL COOLER AND COVER THE EXPENSES FOR THE ONES THAT HAVE HAD TO HAVE IT FIXED. MAKE NISSAN WARRANTY EVERY FAULTY COOLER. *TR
I OWN A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH 78000 MILES. I PURCHASED THIS BRAND NEW. THE FUEL GAUGE SENSOR STOPPED WORKING AROUND 76000 MILES. I GET A SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT AND MY ELECTRONIC FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT REGISTER THAT I HAVE ANY FUEL. THERE IS A FLAW IN THE RADIATORS THAT WERE USED BY NISSAN ON 2005 AND UP PATHFINDERS, X-TERRAS, AND FRONTIERS WITH THE 4.0 V6 ENGINES. THESE RADIATORS, IN WHICH ANTI-FREEZE AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID, WOULD BOTH PASS THROUGH ARE SOMEHOW CRACKING AND MIXING THE 2 FLUIDS TOGETHER.
