FLUID FROM RADIATOR LEAKED INTO TRANSMISSION, COMPLETELY BURNED OUT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED INTO NEUTRAL AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT CALLED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE MIGHT BE DUE TO THE RADIATOR FLUID LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE CAR HAS A NOTICEABLE SHAKE WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. *TR
HAD ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION.BROUGHT TO MECHANIC AND FOUND OUT THAT RADIATOR WAS CRACKED AND RUINED TRANSMISSION. WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC THAT THIS WAS COMMON WITH THIS VEHICLE.WENT IN INTERNET AND FOUND ALL KINDS OF INFO ABOUT SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL IF I WAS NOTIFIED FROM NISSAN EARLIER I WOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY 2500.00.WOULD HAVE BEEN FREE FOR UNDER 80,000 MILES.MY CAR HAS 80,743 MILES.NOT HAPPY WITH NISSAN,WILL NOT EVER BUY ANOTHER. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A LICENSED MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKED INTO THE RADIATOR AND WATER LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT REFERENCED A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID 10V517000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
RADIATOR COOLANT LEAKED INTO TRANSMISSION, KILLING TRANSMISSION. *TR
110,000-115,000 MILES -> WAS DRIVING DOWN A TWO LANE HWY IN THE EVENING (BUSY TIME WITH WORK TRAFFIC) - I AM GLAD I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND NOT MY WIFE, AS SHE TYPICALLY HAS OUR CHILD IN THE CAR WITH HER AT ALL TIMES - IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR INCIDENT DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE HWY BEING TRAVELED. NEXT, THERE WAS A BRIEF INCLINE AND IT TOOK A BIT MORE POWER TO GET UP AND THEN THE AWFUL NOISE HAPPENED. WAS SO DISTURBED BY THE NOISE/SHUTTER THAT I PULLED OVER TO SEE IF I HAD LOST A TIRE. AFTER INSPECTION, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG THAT I COULD SEE. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME AND FELT IT A FEW MORE TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF THE NEXT 15-20 MIN. HONESTLY, I WAS PRAYING THAT NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN UNTIL I COULD MAKE IT HOME - THAT NOISE WAS ALARMING. UPON ARRIVAL HOME, I LOOKED UP WHAT COULD BE WRONG, THEN THAT IS WHEN I FOUND EVERYTHING ONLINE ABOUT PATHFINDERS. WE DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND HAVE HAD TO WAIT FOR SEVERAL WEEKS TO SAVE THE MONEY JUST TO GET THE TRANSMISSION REBUILD PROCESS STARTED. I CANNOT BELIEVE A COMPANY THAT IS AS HIGHLY RESPECTED IN THE INDUSTRY AS NISSAN IS NOT STEPPING TO THE PLATE TO MAKE THIS RIGHT. IT IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT FOR 3 DIFFERENT MODEL CARS. THE "DEDUCTIBLE" THAT THEY ARE OFFERING DOES NOT COME CLOSE TO THE COST OF THE TOTAL FIX FOR THE ISSUE(S) AT STAKE - ESPECIALLY IF YOU GO THROUGH NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS - NOT EVEN GUARANTEED TO BE COMPLETELY FIXED SINCE IT IS A DEFECT - JUST REPLACING THE PROBLEM IT ALREADY HAS AND WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE. LOVE MY PATHFINDER BUT WILL LOOK AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO NEVER BUY A NISSAN OR INFINITY PRODUCT, EVER, AGAIN. SAFETY IS MY BIGGEST PRIORITY WHEN BUYING A CAR - THIS CAR FIT THE MOLD WHEN I BOUGHT IT IN 2008/2009 AND NEVER AGAIN, BUT NOT ANYMORE. VEHICLE TRANSMISSION STOPPED SHIFTING WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. SOUNDED LIKE VEHICLE COULDN'T SWITCH GEARS ANY LONGER. THIS IS SERIOUS PROBLEM AND LUCKY IT DID NOT RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. WE HAVE KEPT THE VEHICLE ON THE PROPER MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. *TR
SAME ISSUE AS ALL OTHERS, DRIVE A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND WAS HAPPY UNTIL 125TSD MILES NEVER A BIG REPAIR. NOW I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE FAULTY RADIATOR KILLS SILENT THE TRANSMISSION. DID VISIT THE DEALER FOR EVERY SERVICE EVEN AS THE PROBLEM STARTS LITTLE BY LITTLE. FIRST A UNPLEASANT SHIFTING, DEALER RECOMMENDS A TRANSMISSION FLUSH BEFORE THE OFFICIAL SERVICE INTERVAL, DONE. AFTER WE ARE STILL NOT HAPPY AS WE CAN TELL THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS DIFFERENT AS WE DID KNOW IT FROM BEFORE. SEE THE NISSAN DEALER AGAIN, THEY WRITE THE ORDER WITH THE CUSTOMER COMPLAINT, ?CUSTOMER COMPLAINS ABOUT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS?. WRITTEN STATEMENT OF THE DEALER, TRANSMISSION CHECKED NO ISSUES FOUND. SOME MILES LATER, TOTAL FALL OUT OF THE TRANSMISSION SPECIAL THE TCU. GOOD CUSTOMER WILL NOT SEE NOW DEALER AGAIN BUT A LAWYER. *TR
NOTICED VEHICLE PULLING OFF SLUGGISH AND WASN'T SHIFTING GEARS. WHEN I MADE IT HOME, I HAD IT CHECKED OUT AND FOUND TRANSMISSION FLUID MIXING WITH THE ENGINE COOLANT. I STARTED SEARCHING ONLINE FOR RECALL AND FOUND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT THERE ISN'T A RECALL TO FIX THE ISSUE. I ALSO DIDN'T KNOW THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 80,000 MILES TO ONLY HAVE THE RADIATOR REPLACED. THEY TO DO SOMETHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND MAKE IT RIGHT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. *TR
I WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT BASED ON MY RECENT EXPERIENCES WITH NISSAN. I OWN A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN DECEMBER OF 2005. A FEW YEARS AGO, NISSAN ISSUED A VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ON A NUMBER OF THEIR VEHICLES INCLUDING THE 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. HOWEVER, THE CAMPAIGN ONLY RECALLED FUEL SENDING UNITS ON 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDERS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JAN AND MARCH OF 2006. NISSAN THEN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR OTHER 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDERS THAT INCLUDING MY VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THE WARRANTY EXTENSION ONLY LASTED ABOUT A YEAR AFTER IT CAME OUT. DURING THAT EXTENDED WARRANTY TIME, MY NISSAN PATHFINDER'S FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS ACTING UP (THIS IS THE DEVICE THAT TELLS YOUR FUEL GAUGE AND TRIP COMPUTER HOW CLOSE YOU ARE TO EMPTY). HOWEVER THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP COULD NOT REPLICATE THE FAULT SO I WAS OUT OF LUCK AS THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD WORK OFF AND ON. OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS, THE FUEL GAUGE HAS CONTINUED TO ACT UP AND READ THE WRONG AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. LAST WEEK, THE ISSUE PERSISTED LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO GET IT TO A DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE ISSUE WAS WITH THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. HOWEVER, BY THIS TIME, THE WARRANTY HAD LAPSED AND NISSAN HAS BEEN ADAMANT THAT THEY WILL NOT PAY TO REPLACE THE FUEL SENDING UNIT BECAUSE ITS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. MY WIFE AND I BOTH SHARE THE VEHICLE AND TAKE OUR TWO CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I AM BECOMING WARY OF THE VEHICLE'S GAUGE MALFUNCTIONING AND AM CONCERNED ABOUT WHETHER THE GAUGE COULD READ FULL AND THE CAR RUNS OUT OF GAS ON THE FREEWAY AND WE GET HIT BY A SEMI TRACTOR TRAILER AND COULD BE FATALLY INJURED- THE EXACT REASON WHY NISSAN RECALLED THE SENDING UNITS ON OTHER NISSANS. HOWEVER, NISSAN CORPORATE IS ADAMANT THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WILL NOT CAUSE ANY SAFETY CONCERNS- EVEN THEIR WEBSITE SAYS SO-HTTP://WWW.NISSANASSIST.COM/WEB/FUEL-SENDING-UNIT/INDEX.PHP?MENU=2. *TR
NISSAN PATHFINDER JUST GOT TO 100,000 MILES WHEN STARTED EXPERIENCING TRANSMISSION ISSUES, TURNS OUT THERE WAS A FACTORY WARRANTY THAT I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF THAT WOULD HAVE COVERED THE RADIATOR/TRANSMISSION ISSUE. HOWEVER BECAUSE I WAS NOT HAVING AN ISSUE UNTIL THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ENDED NISSAN IS REFUSING TO COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS DESPITE KNOWING ABOUT THIS ENGINEERING FAULT. IT IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING THAT A LARGE COMPANY SUCH AS NISSAN IS ABLE TO SEND A VEHICLE OUT INTO THE PUBLIC WITH KNOWN ENGINEERING FLAWS AND PUT A MILEAGE LIMIT ON REPAIRING THE ISSUE. IT IS SOMETHING THAT WILL INEVITABLY FAIL BUT IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME SO IT MIGHT HAVE OCCURRED WITHIN THE LIMIT FOR SOME AND OUTSIDE THE LIMIT FOR OTHERS. IT IS MY HOPE THAT YOU WILL EXPOSE THIS SHADY AND UNSAFE PRACTICE THAT NISSAN HAS GOING AND HELP GET PEOPLE THE REPAIRS THEY DESERVE. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, VEHICLE BECOMES SLUGGISH. NOTICE THAT THE TEMPERATURE BEGINS TO RISE RAPIDLY. IN AFTERNOON WORK TRAFFIC AND HAVE DIFFICULTY NEGOTIATING TRAFFIC TRYING NOT TO BREAK DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD/INTERSECTION AT 5:20PM. VEHICLE WAS TAKE TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE I WAS INFORMED THAT THE RADIATOR HAD RUPTURED, THUS SENDING COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND TRANSMISSION FLUID INTO THE ENGINE. CURRENT ESTIMATE IS APPROX $3000. *TR
PATHFINDER EXPERIENCED COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND THE ENGINE STARTED SMOKING AND FLUIDS SPILLED OUT FROM UNDERNEATH. PEOPLE BEHIND US HAD TO SWERVE AROUND US TO AVOID HITTING US. SOME GOOD SAMARITANS HELPED MY HUSBAND PUSH THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HE COULD NO LONGER DRIVE THE CAR. EARLIER IN THE DAY THE CAR WAS HAVING TROUBLE ACCELERATING AND WOULD JERK. WE MANAGED TO GET OFF THE FREEWAY BEFORE IT STALLED COMPLETELY. WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MOSSY NISSAN AND WE WERE TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT THE MANUFACTURER RADIATOR THAT CAME WITH THE CAR WAS BADLY DESIGNED. THE RADIATORS CRACK CAUSING CROSS CONTAMINATION OF THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION FLUID WHICH THEN RESULTS IN COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE, WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR CAR. HE TOLD US THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, ACTUALLY, AND THE SETTLEMENT TERMS WERE THAT IF YOUR CAR WAS UNDER 80,000 MILES NISSAN WOULD COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS. OUR CAR HAD 87,000 MILES AND SO WE HAD TO PAY $2500. OVER 90,000 MILES AND YOU HAVE TO PAY $3000. OVER 100,000 MILES AND YOU'RE OUT OF LUCK. WE WERE TOLD THE REPAIR RUNS ABOUT $7,000 OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL ISSUE, NOT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE, BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO BE DRIVING ON THE ROAD WHEN YOUR CAR STALLS AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILS. THE CAR HAS SINCE BEEN REPAIRED BUT I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE IN A NISSAN. NISSAN NORTH AMERICA REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR A DESIGN FLAW AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM THE LAWSUIT BENEFITED NO ONE BUT NISSAN. YOU COULDN'T HAVE YOUR RADIATOR REPLACED UNDER THE WARRANTY IF IT WASN'T MALFUNCTIONING YET. YOUR CAR NEEDED TO BREAK DOWN BEFORE THE WARRANTY COULD KICK IN, AND AT THAT POINT YOU WERE ALREADY OUTSIDE THE 100% COVERAGE WINDOW. *TR
SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS STAYING ON. TOOK TO DEALER AND SES CODE READ CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACE. DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM 02 SENSOR DOES NOT REPORT AIRFLOW. $1200 DEALER REPAIR. NOT SURE WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL. *TR
CAME TO STOP AT LIGHT. TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND TRANSMISSION WAS NOT ENGAGING. EVENTUALLY WAS ABLE TO PUT CAR IN 1ST GEAR AND TRANSMISSION ENGAGED. WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF ROAD. TURNED OFF VEHICLE AND TRIED TO ENGAGE ANY GEAR. TRANSMISSION TOTALLY GONE. *TR
WIFE WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK. WAS IN MIDDLE LANE OF TRAFFIC STOPPED AT RED LIGHT. TRIED TO ACCELERATE BUT TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. EVENTUALLY TRANSMISSION WORKED FOR A FEW SECONDS. PULLED OFF ROAD. INSPECTED VEHICLE. ALL GEARS (INCLUDING REVERSE) DO NOT ENGAGE. DID SOME ONLINE RESEARCH THIS EVENING AND LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. TRIED TO SELL THE CAR AND THE BUYER POINTED OUT THAT THE RADIATOR MUST OF CRACKED AND MIXED WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. HE DID NOT BUY THE CAR AND NOW I AM BEING TOLD THAT I HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND THE RADIATOR. APPARENTLY THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM ON THESE CARS AND THEY NEED TO FIX THIS. VERY UPSET AND WILL NEVER BUY A NISSAN AGAIN. *TR
WHEN I FILL UP MY GASOLINE TANK THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE SHOWS THAT I DO NOT HAVE ANY GASOLINE; THIS CAUSES THE FUEL WARNING LIGHT TO REMAIN ON. I HAVE COMPLETELY FILLED UP MY TANK A NUMBER OF TIMES AND THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ABOUT FOUR MONTHS. I BELIEVE THERE IS PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL SENDER FLOAT ARM BECAUSE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE SHOWS INACCURATE LEVELS OF FUEL. I AM AFRAID THAT I MAY RUN OUT OF GAS AND NOT BE IN THE AREA OF A GAS STATION. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE I NEED TO KNOW AT ALL TIMES WHAT MY FUEL LEVELS ARE. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCES. I HAVE NO WAY OF DETERMINING HOW LOW MY FUEL REALLY IS OR HOW MUCH IS IN THE GAS TANK. A DIAGNOSTIC TEST REVEALED A CODE THAT FOUND THE VEHICLE HAD A BAD FUEL SENDING UNIT. THE CONSUMER REFERENCED RECALL # 10V075000. HOWEVER, HE WAS INFORMED THE RECALL DID NOT APPLY TO HIS VEHICLE, BECAUSE IT WAS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. UPDATED 05/27/15. *JB
CRACKED ATF LINE CAUSED TRANSMISSION TO FAIL..... DURING A SCHEDULED SERVICE AND OIL CHANGE OF MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER, THE SERVICE TECH INFORMED ME OF THE PRESENCE OF ENGINE COOLANT IN MY VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION. THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A CRACKED ATF LINE. I PAID A REPUTABLE SHOP $1,000.00 TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION COOLER PLUS POWER FLUSH THE TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION HAS SINCE STOPPED WORKING AND THE SHOP HAS ATTRIBUTED THE DAMAGE TO CONTAMINATION CAUSED BY ENGINE COOLANT. ESTIMATED REPAIRS FROM A NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT ARE OVER $5000.00! ALL OF THE SHOPS THAT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH HAVE INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN PATHFINDER. THIS APPEARS TO BE A FAILURE ON THE PART OF NISSAN. *TR
CAR STARTED RUMBLING VERY ERRATICALLY AT HIGH SPEED. HAD I NOT HAD GOOD GRIP ON WHEEL IT WOULD OF BEEN BAD FOR MY FAMILY OR OTHERS. GLAD IT DIDN'T FAIL COMPLETELY LEAVING ME POWERLESS ON HIGHWAY. I BELIEVE THIS WILL RESULT IN DEATHS OR SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. NOT TO MENTION THOUSANDS IN REPAIRS. HAD RADIATOR REPLACED LAST YEAR DUE TILL SAME PROBLEM. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. I WAS DRIVING YESTERDAY NIGHT WHEN MY CAR STARTED JERKING AND STOPPED SUDDENLY ON THE HIGHWAY, THANKFULLY THE CARS BEHIND ME WERE ABLE TO STOP AVOIDING A CRASH BECAUSE THERE WAS LOTS OF TRAFFIC, BUT OTHERWISE, THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL CRASH. THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, PEOPLE HAD TO HELP PUSH IT OFF THE HIGHWAY. THEN AFTER A WHILE IT STARTED MOVING AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR, JERKING ALL THE WAY BACK TO MY HOUSE. I HAD PREVIOUSLY NOTICED A JERKING WHENEVER I AM ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION OF PATHFINDERS OWING TO A DEFECT IN MANUFACTURE THAT CAUSES RADIATOR FLUID TO MIX WITH COOLANT AFFECTING THE TRANSMISSION. MY TRUCK WAS SHIFTING REALLY HARD FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO OR THREE DAYS AND I TOOK IT TO A SERVICE SHOP TO HAVE THEM TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND THEY FOUND RADIATOR FLUID HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION ON MY TRUCK. I HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE BY NISSAN, AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THAT BECAUSE I DIDN'T MEET THE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEM TO COVER ANY COST OR OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES FOR THE REPAIR I HAD THE SERVICE CENTER REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE RADIATOR ONLY TO FIND THAT THERE WAS DAMAGE DONE TO THE TRANSMISSION TOO, LOOKING AT A COST OF OVER $4,500.00 I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN'S LACK OF COMMITMENT TO TAKING CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS WHO WERE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE NAMELY ME. *TR

RADIATOR DEVELOPED A CRACK WHICH LEAKED INTO TRANSMISSION - BOTH HAD TO BE REPLACED. WE WERE TOLD, DUE TO A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT IN 2013, WE WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR A DEDUCTIBLE OF $2,500 SINCE OUR VEHICLE STARTED PROBLEM AFTER 80,000 AND PAST MARCH 1, 2014. DID NOT REALIZE THIS PROBLEM UNTIL WE TOOK VEHICLE IN, BY THAT TIME MID APRIL 2014 AND AT 81,990. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR

THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM KNOWN BY NISSAN AND THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED ANY RECALLS OR WARNED THE CONSUMER OF THESE PROBLEMS. NISSAN HAS OFFERED SOME OWNERS EXTENDED WARRANTIES BUT NOTHING ABOVE 100,000 MILES FOR THOSE WITH CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE TO THEIR TRANSMISSIONS DUE TO THEIR KNOWINGLY DEFECTIVE RADIATORS. CLEARLY, TOYOTA'S RECENT ACCEPTANCE OF A $1.2 BILLION FEDERAL FINE FOR DELIBERATELY CONCEALING AUTO DEFECTS AND SAFETY RISKS FROM ITS BUYERS AND GENERAL MOTOR'S CURRENT REGULATORY WOES BECAUSE THEY CYNICALLY JUDGED THEIR VEHICLES DEFECTS NOT RECALLABLE WHEN THEY CLEARLY ARE, THESE ARE SIGNS THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. IN FEBRUARY OF 2014 I WENT TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS OIL IN THE ANTIFREEZE COMPARTMENT. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE CAR WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKES AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. SCARIEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND I SENT IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE CAR AND TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE RADIATOR WHICH CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION. THEY TOLD ME THEY RECOGNIZE THE PROBLEM BUT IT WAS NOT YET A RECALL ISSUE, I GUESS OTHER PEOPLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THAT MODEL. THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID NISSAN WILL FIX THE PROBLEM BUT I HAVE THE PAY $2500 +TAX FOR THE DEDUCTIBLE, I ALSO HAD TO RENT A CAR FOR $300 TO GET TO WORK UNTIL MY CAR WAS REPAIRED. I THINK I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING BECAUSE IT IS THE MANUFACTURES FAULT AND NISSAN IS AWARE OF IT.
