TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED DOWN TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN VERY LIGHT PRESSURE WAS APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FAULKNER NISSAN HARRISBURG (3925 PAXTON ST, HARRISBURG, PA 17111, (717) 558-8220) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO FAILURES AFTER TEST DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000.
I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER IN MARCH OF 2013. WITHIN 6 MONTHS I NOTICED THERE WAS JERKING WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I TOOK IT BACK TO PRESTON NISSAN IN MARYLAND AND WAS TOLD THEY HAD RECEIVED A BULLETIN AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THEY REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION AND IT HELPED A LITTLE BUT A FEW MONTHS LATER IT WAS DOING THE SAME THING. I TOOK IT BACK TO PRESTON NISSAN. THERE I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THAT THEY WOULD REPROGRAM IT AGAIN. IT DID NOT HELP. I COULD NOT AFFORD TO KEEP TAKING IT BACK, BECAUSE THEY CHARGE ME EVERY TIME TO KEEP TELLING ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. MY CAR BEGAN TO NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I WAS MAKING A TURN OR WHEN I WAS ACCELERATING IN TRAFFIC. WE TOOK IT BACK TO PRESTON AND WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY HAD PUT A DEVICE IN TO MONITOR THE TRANSMISSION AS WELL AS REPROGRAMMED IT AGAIN. MY CAR CONTINUED TO JUDDER AND SHAKE AND FAIL TO ACCELERATE. THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED AND NISSAN EXTENDED THE WARRANTIES TO 84,000 MILES. MY CAR IS NOW AT 87,000 AND A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN MICHIGAN IS NOW STATING THAT IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION AND A COOLING FAN. NISSAN CORPORATE OFFICE IS NOW TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL PAY 90% OF THE FAN AND ONLY 50% OF THE TRANSMISSION. I BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR. THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THIS CAR. IT HAS BEEN ONE THING AFTER THE OTHER. DOOR LOCK MOTOR, VISOR, HOOD RELEASE, TRUNK LATCH, BRAKE LIGHTS REMAIN ON WHEN CAR IS OFF, AIRBAG INDICATOR...THE LIST GOES ON AND ON.
WE PURCHASED THE CAR USED IN AUGUST OF 2018. I DID NOTICE THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUN VISORS WERE HANGING LOW. AND THAT THEY DIDN'T FULLY HOLD UP WHEN USED. I CONTACTED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND THEY SAID IT WASN'T A WARRANTY COVERED ITEM. I TRIED REACHING OUT TO THE DEALER THAT SOLD US THE VEHICLE AND STILL NO LUCK! IT EVENTUALLY BROKE ALL THE WAY AND THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR CANNOT BE USED AT ALL AND IS BEING HELD UP BY A BUNGEE CORD!! I CANNOT USE THIS VISOR WHILE DRIVING AND IT IS A HAZARD!! I BELIEVE THIS IS AN ISSUE TO BRING TO RECALL. THERE IS A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE STATING A DEALER HAD TO REPLACE OVER 50 VISORS ON THEIR LOT!! SEARCH IT. MY COMPLAINT ISN'T THE FIRST ONE! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE/HAZARD/CONCERN FOR ALL INVOLVED.
THE THE ARMS THAT OPEN THE REAR LIFTGATE ON MY PATHFINDER RUSTED FROM THE INSIDE OUT. ONE DAY WHEN CLOSING THE DOOR IT SLAMMED SHUT SUDDENLY AND WOULDN'T OPEN ANYMORE WITHOUT SOMEONE MANUALLY LIFTING IT AND HOLDING IT OPEN. WE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT GETTING IT FIXED AND WE WERE TOLD THE PATHFINDERS REAR LIFTGATE HAS BEEN CHANGED COMPLETELY AND IN ORDER TO FIX OURS WE NEED TO REPLACE BOTH SHOCKS AS WELL AS THE OPERATING SYSTEM...... WHICH COMES IN AT 1400 DOLLARS BEFORE LABOR....... OBVIOUSLY THERE IS AN ISSUE THERE IS THEY HAVE COMPLETELY CHANGED HOW THE DOOR OPENS AND CLOSES! ALSO, THEY ISSUED A RECALL ON THE NISSAN ROGUE AROUND THE SAME TIME THAT WE GOT OUR PATHFINDER FOR THAT SAME ISSUE WITH THE TAILGATE..... I'M SURE THE SHOCKS FROM THOSE ROGUES THAT WERE RECALLED MUST BE INCREDIBLY SIMILAR TO THE ONES IN THE NISSAN PATHFINDER.......
INTERIOR DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE FAILED TO OPEN. HAD IT REPAIRED IN 2015. INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE PASSENGER SIDE FAILED TO OPEN STARTING.8/15/2018. IN ORDER TO GET OUT OF VEHICLE YOU MUST ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW. HUGE SAFETY CONCERN.
65 MPH, VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE BUT RPMS WENT UP TO 7000 VEHICLE SHUDDERED FOR 25 SECONDS. NEXT DAY WHILE MAKIG A LEFT TURN AT 10 MPH THRU AN INTERSECTION FROM A STOP LIGHT, SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED. GOT TO SIDE OF ROAD, CAR REFUSED TO GO FORWARD. WORKS IN REVERSE BUT NOT FORWARD. TOWED TO SHOP WHERE NEW TRANSMISSION WAS FOUND TO BE THE ONLY FIX. VEHICLE HAS ONLY 112K MILES.
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, I ACCELERATED- MY RPMS WENT UP TO 7 YET MY CAR DIDN'T ACCELERATE AT ALL BUT THE CAR SHUDDERED FOR ABOUT 25 SECONDS. ONE DAY LATER, WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AFTER SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT THE SAME THING HAPPENED. LUCKILY I HAD JUST ENOUGH POWER TO GET THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK TO CATCH MY BREATH AFTER THAT SCARY SCENE. AFTER TWO MINUTES OF THE CAR STILL ON I TRIED TO DRIVE BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE AND IT SHUDDERED AGAIN. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND HAD THE SAME RESULTS. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY FOUND THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION WOULD BE NECESSARY.
DRIVER SUN VISOR WOULD MAKE A CLICKING SOUND. NOW THE VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP AND IT DISTURBS MY VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING.
PROBLEM #1: SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE THE UNIT LOSES ACCELERATION WHILE IN MOTION (DRIVING) OR WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STATIONARY AT A LIGHT. I PRESS THE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE WITH NO RESPONSE, CERO ACCELERATION. IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET ACCELERATION BACK I HAVE TO PARK AND PUT IN ON PARKING AND TRY THE PEDAL AGAIN. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO NISSAN WHERE THE DIAGNOSE CAN'T BE DETERMINE BECAUSE THE LACK OF WARNING SIGNS ON THE CONTROL PANEL. THE UNIT DID NOT SHOW THE CONDITION AT THAT MOMENT AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE IT. AFTER TAKING THE UNIT OUT OF THE MECHANICAL WORKSHOP, A WARNING SIG WAS REVEALED AS FOLLOWS: P0603: INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE KEEP ALIVE MEMORY (KAM) ERROR. I CALLED THE WORKSHOP AND THEY TOLD ME NO RECALLS WERE CLAIMED FOR THAT REASON (ERROR CODE). PROBLEM #2: THE WARRANTY WAS OVER (36MONTHS) AND BOTH VISORS WENT PERMANENTLY DOWN. THEY WERE REPLACED AT MY OWN COST. PROBLEM #3: THE BRAKES LIGHTS ARE KEEPING ON EVEN WHEN THE UNIT IS OFF. THIS IS MAKING THE BATTERY RUNS OUT!
OUR PATHFINDER HAS BEEN RECALLED TWICE FOR PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG MALFUNCTIONS. DESPITE HAVING BEEN "REPAIRED" ON BOTH OCCASIONS, THE AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. NISSAN IS NOW INFORMING US THAT THE ENTIRE AIRBAG SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE, YET THEY MAINTAIN THAT THIS ISSUE IS UNRELATED TO THE PRIOR RECALLS AND AS SUCH, HAVE REFUSED TO COVER THE COST OF REPAIR. IN ADDITION, THE VISORS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES HAVE BROKEN AND ARE SAGGING, IMPAIRING VISION DURING VEHICLE OPERATION. IN RESEARCHING SOLUTIONS, WE HAVE DISCOVERED THAT BOTH ISSUES ARE COMMON COMPLAINTS FOR DRIVERS OF OUR SPECIFIC MODEL PATHFINDER, YET NISSAN SEEMS TO BE DOING NOTHING TO FIX THESE RECURRENT DEFECTS.
DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE HARDWARE FAILED - DISCONNECTING THE DOOR HANDLE AND THE DOOR CABLE AND ENTRAPPING THE OCCUPANT. DOOR CAN ONLY BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. EFFECTIVELY THIS MEANS THAT THE CAR MUST MAINTAIN ELECTRICAL POWER SUFFICIENT TO ROLLS DOWN THE WINDOW IN ORDER TO REACH THROUGH AND ACCESS A SERVICEABLE DOOR HANDLE. I HAVE RAISED THE ISSUE TO NISSAN ON 3 OCCASIONS BUT HAVE NOT BEEN TAKEN SERIOUSLY. PERHAPS YOUR WILL HAVE MORE SUCCESS - GODSPEED!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE BY USING THE REMOTE START FEATURE, THE VEHICLE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED WHILE IDLING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED DURING EXTREME HEAT. DURING THE FAILURE, A CHILD OCCUPANT WAS SECURED IN THE VEHICLE AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY WEDGE THE DOOR OPEN. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT 60 SECONDS AFTER THE REMOTE START WAS INITIATED, THE VEHICLE LOCKED ITSELF AS A SECURITY MEASURE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,401.
DRIVERS SIDE VISOR AND PASSENGER SIDE VISOR BROKEN AND IMPEDE VIEW WHILE DRIVING. HAZARD AND OBSTRUCTS VIEW WHILE DRIVING. DANGEROUS!
THE SUNVISORS ARE CHEAPLY MADE AND BREAK. THEREFORE THEY BECOME DANGEROUS. I HAVE LOOKED INTO REPLACING AND WAS GIVEN A CODE OF 200.00 A PIECE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE OF SAFETY ISSUES.
ON A BUMPY ROAD, DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR FAILED COMPLETELY AND DROPPED DOWN BLOCKING DRIVERS VISION. WE HAVE ALREADY REPLACED SUN VISOR PREVIOUSLY, THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US BEFORE.
THE SUN VISORS ON BOTH SIDES ARE BROKE IN PIECES THAT THEY WON'T STAY UP.
LAST MONTH, I NOTICED THAT WHEN I WAS AT A FULL STOP, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ALWAYS ACCELERATE WHEN I TOUCHED THE GAS PEDAL. I ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENED, MY BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ON AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT WORK. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE SPAN OF TWO WEEKS. AFTER CHECKING OUT THE PROBLEM ONLINE, I BECAME AWARE THAT ON MAY 31, 2016, 79,853 2013-2014 PATHFINDERS WERE RECALLED FOR DEFECTIVE BREAK LIGHT SWITCHES (CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V380000). AFTER TAKING MY VEHICLE TO MY DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT MY ISSUE STEMMED FROM A DEFECTIVE BREAK LIGHT SWITCH AND STOP LAMP RELAY - THE EXACT SAME REASON 79,853 PATHFINDERS WERE RECALLED IN 2016 (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PDF COPY OF RECEIPT). YET MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THAT RECALL. WHEN I POINTED THIS OUT TO MY DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT IT MIGHT BE BECAUSE MY VEHICLE CAME OFF A DIFFERENT ASSEMBLY LINE. ALTHOUGH I AM NO EXPERT, THIS MAKES LITTLE SENSE, SINCE THE DEFECTIVE PARTS WOULD BE THE SAME NO MATTER WHERE THE VEHICLES WERE ASSEMBLED. THEREFORE I AM WRITING TO INFORM YOU THAT MORE VEHICLES SHOULD PROBABLY BE INCLUDED IN THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH RECALL; PARTICULARLY SINCE THIS IS A SERIOUS AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ISSUE.
WHEN BRAKING, I HAVE TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR IN ORDER TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING AT STOP LIGHTS. EVEN WHEN THE PEDAL DOES NOT GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, THE BRAKES ARE "SOFT". MANY TIMES, THE BRAKES DO NOT SEEM TO START WORKING UNTIL THE PEDAL IS PRESSED DOWN ABOUT 3/4 OF THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. SPEED DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A FACTOR, THE BRAKES JUST DON'T WORK. UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THERE IS A HIGH-PITCHED SQUEAL THAT CAN ONLY BE HEARD INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN 4 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE WITH NO PERMANENT RESOLUTION. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THERE ARE A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. IT SEEMS THAT NISSAN WILL NOT ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITHOUT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT STEPPING IN, BE IT NHTSA OR THE COURTS - MOST OF US CANNOT AFFORD TO GO THE THE LEGAL ROUTE AS WE'RE SPENDING TOO MUCH ON "BAND-AID" REPAIRS AT NISSAN. PLEASE TAKE SOME ACTION ON THIS MATTER, TOO MANY LIVES ARE AT STAKE. WE'LL NEVER HAVE ZERO FATALITIES WHEN A MANUFACTURER IS ALLOWED TO PRODUCE UNSAFE VEHICLES WITHOUT BEING HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS. AT A MINIMUM, NISSAN SHOULD BE FORCED TO RECALL THE AFFECTED VEHICLES TO EITHER SOLVE THE PROBLEM OR FIND A WAY TO GET THEIR DANGEROUS VEHICLES OFF OF OUR ROADS WITHOUT PENALIZING THE CONSUMERS THAT TRUSTED NISSAN TO PROVIDE A SAFE VEHICLE.

DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE AND BACK PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE BOTH BROKE AND THE BACK DOOR IS USED VERY LITTLE POOR DESIGN AND SAFETY ISSUE IF NEEDING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION
WHILE DRIVING SUDDENLY THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR FAIL TO STAY UP WHILE COVERING MY VISIBILITY THAT I ALMOST HIT A CAR IN FRONT OF ME ,UNFORTUNATELY I REACTED QUICKLY SLAMMING THE BRAKES ,THIS HAPPENED RIGHT AROUND IN MAY AFTER I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE .BUT THEN AFTER ONE MONTH THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR FAIL TOO WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ,BEING A PAIN ON THE BUT ,I HAD TO TAKE BOTH OUT . HOPING SOME ONE DOES SOMETHING ABOUT IT .BEFORE SOMETHING BAD COULD HAPPEN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO OVERHEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIATOR FAN MOTOR ASSEMBLY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,212.
MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG REMAINS OFF EVEN WHEN A PASSENGER IS PRESENT. HOWEVER, THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THE 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BUT BECAUSE THERE IS NO INFORMATION IN THE SYSTEM FOR MY VIN, THEY WERE RELUCTANT TO HELP. BECAUSE MY WARRANTY IS EXPIRED, ITS NOT COVERED.
WE RECENTLY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION UNDER WARRANTY AND NOW THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT FROM PARK. THE OVERRIDE FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT FUNCTION. DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS A SOLENOID OR MECHANICAL ISSUE. DEALERSHIP SAYS REPLACE MECHANISM AND SEE IF THIS $1000 FIX CORRECTS SITUATION
SUN VISORS ON DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE WILL NOT STAY UP OR IN POSITION. THEY HANG DOWN CREATING A HAZARD. THEY BLOCK VISIBILITY. HAVE TO HOLD THEM IN PLACE WITH OTHER HAND WHEN TRYING TO TURN IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO SEE.
DRIVING 35 MPH ON CITY STREET, NO CARS IN IMMEDIATE VICINITY, NO OVERPASSES OR BRIDGES, NO LOW-HANGING TREES AND MY SUNROOF EXPLODED. IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING LARGE HAD BEEN DROPPED ON THE ROOF OF MY CAR. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND EXAMINED THE ROOF OF THE CAR. THERE WERE NO SIGNS THAT ANYTHING HAD FALLEN ONTO THE CAR AS THERE WAS NO PAINT DAMAGE OR DENTS. HOWEVER, THE ENTIRE SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED. UPON REMOVING THE BROKEN GLASS FROM THE AREA, IT WAS CLEAR THERE WAS NOTHING INSIDE THE SUNROOF AREA THAT HAD IMPACTED THE GLASS.
THE DRIVER SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP ANY MORE. IT JUST DANGLES. THIS IS UNSAFE BECAUSE IT BLOCKS THE DRIVERS VISION. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. THIS STARTED PROGRESSING BACK IN MARCH 2018 AND NOW IT JUST DANGLES.
2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER DRIVER'S INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE / MECHANISM BROKE: JUST DROVE HOME & PARKED IN MY GARAGE...THEN, WHILE TRYING TO EXIT MY CAR LIKE USUAL, USING THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FROM THE DRIVER SIDE LOCATION, SOMETHING IN THE DOOR MADE A NOISE AND HANDLE STOPPED WORKING AND WILL NOT UNLOCK NOR OPEN THE DOOR...!. IN ORDER TO EXIT THE CAR FROM THE DRIVER POSITION, I HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW TO REACH THE OUTSIDE HANDLE (WHICH WORKS) OR HAVE SOMEONE OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR FROM OUTSIDE...! THIS IS DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY AND MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE, CANNOT EXIT THE CAR, IN A SAFE AMOUNT OF TIME..! IT IS CLEARLY REALLY POOR ENGINEERING & QUALITY ON NISSAN'S PART...AND SHOULD BE RECALLED DUE TO OVERALL SAFETY ISSUE....
JERKING MOTION AN SLIPPING WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOP. ALSO JERKING WILL DRIVING.
SUNVISOR FAILS TO HOLD AND WILL ULTIMATELY FALL IN THE DRIVER'S LINE OF SIGHT WITH NO WAY TO SECURE CREATING A VISIBILITY HAZARD. EVEN IF THE VISOR IS REPLACED BY NISSAN IT WILL FAIL AGAIN DUE TO THE FLAWED DESIGN. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND THEY HAVE FAILED TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THEIR SUNVISORS. I WAS ADVISED TO FILE A SAFETY COMPLAINT BY NUMEROUS THREADS, FORUMS, AND YOUTUBE VIDEOS ON THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE.
THE DOOR HANDLES ON THIS VEHICLE BREAK. THEY REPAIR THEM, AND THEY BREAK AGAIN. MY DEAL IS THIS IS A POINT OF EGRESS IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. HOW CAN THEY JUSTIFY MAKING CUSTOMERS PAY FOR A PART THEY KNOW WAS DESIGNED TERRIBLY. ON TOP OF THAT, IF MY CAR CATCHES ON FIRE....HOW CAN THEY JUSTIFY MAKING ME CLIMB OVER SEATS TO GET OUT. THERE ARE BUSINESSES FINED FOR HAVING THE WRONG KIND OF DOOR RELEASE ON THEIR DOORS. THIS IS NO DIFFERENT.
VEHICLE RADIATOR COOLING FAN IS MAKING A VERY LOUD NOISE. AFTER SOME INVESTIGATION I'VE CONCLUDED THAT THERE IS A BAD BUSHING/BEARING IN 1 OF THE 2 FANS OF THE DUAL RADIATOR (DRIVERS SIDE). THE NOISE IS DUE TO THE FAN WOBBLING WHILE RUNNING UP TO 1/4 INCH OR SO. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS PART IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER WHICH TELLS ME THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE. I HAVE PRICED ONE AT A PARTS STORE AND WAS QUOTED ~$800. THIS ISSUE IF LEFT UNCHECKED NOT ONLY IS VERY NOISY, BUT COULD LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC ENGINE DAMAGE AS THIS IS WHAT COOLS THE FLUID THAT COOLS THE ENGINE. I HAVE ALSO FOUND COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF OTHERS THAT HAVE THE SAME SPECIFIC ISSUE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE MODELS. THIS IS OCCURRING WHILE VEHICLE IS IN PARK IDLING AS WELL AS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
THE FRONT SEAT OCS IS NOT REGISTERING THE SEAT AS BEING OCCUPIED.
BOTH SUN VISORS WILL NOT STAY UP. THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR IS BROKEN TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IMPEDES THE DRIVERS VIEW OF THE ROAD.

DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR BROKE WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND NOW JUST HANGS IN MY LINE OF SIGHT UNLESS I PUSH IT OVER TO THE SIDE, WHICH ALSO OBSTRUCTS VISIBILITY OUT OF THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. WE HAVE TRIED USING VELCRO BUT THE STICKY SIDE FALLS OFF WHEN IT GETS COLD IN THE VEHICLE. IT HAS FALLEN AND HIT ME IN THE HEAD ONCE WHILE DRIVING WHICH SCARED ME AND MADE ME JERK THE STEERING WHEEL. SUN VISORS MAKE A CLICKING NOISE ON DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SIDE, DEALER STATED THAT THEY WILL BREAK , SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE, ALSO SAID THE COST TO REPLACE WAS OVER 200.00 EACH.
THE PLASTIC DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS PRONE TO BREAKING, WHICH MEANS ONE CANNOT QUICKLY EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. MINE BROKE AND, FOR A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME I WASN'T SURE HOW I COULD GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. IF THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING, OR THE BATTERY IS INOPERATIVE, ONE CANNOT ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW TO GET OUT THAT WAY. THE CONSOLE MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT, IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE, FOR THE DRIVER TO EXIT THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR. THE ASSUMPTION IS THAT YOU CAN ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW, OR THAT YOU ARE PHYSICALLY ABLE TO CLIMB OVER THE CONSOLE AND EXIT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE A RECALL AND REPLACE ISSUE. THE PLASTIC DOOR HANDLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH A HANDLE THAT WILL ALWAYS OPEN THE DOOR. OBVIOUSLY, THE CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THE PART NUMBER FOR THE REPLACEMENT HANDLE IS: 80671-3TAOD. IF NEEDED, I CAN PROVIDE A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE BROKEN PLASTIC DOOR HANDLE AND THE REPAIR INVOICE. I AM REQUESTING THAT NISSAN COVER THE CHARGES FOR THE REPAIR, BUT MY GREATER CONCERN IS THAT SOMEONE WILL BE TRAPPED IN A BURNING CAR, OR SOME EMERGENCY SITUATION.
THE SUN VISORS HAVE A DEFECT KNOWN BY NISSAN, BUT THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL TO CORRECT IT YET. OURS STARTED BY MAKING A LOUD "CLICKING" NOISE, BEFORE LOSING THE CAPABILITY TO STAY EITHER UP OR DOWN. THEY HANG DOWN. THE SAGGING VISORS DIMINISH VISION AND ARE GOING TO KILL SOMEONE IF IT IS NOT ADDRESSED. ON 08/16/2016 I PURCHASED A MOTOR VEHICLE FROM STAR NISSAN LOCATED AT 5757 W. TOUHY AVE., NILES, IL 60714 (2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER SUV VIN). ON OCTOBER OF 2016 I WAS DRIVING IN THE EXPRESS WAY GOING 60MPH AND MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED ACCELERATING AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE I HAD OTHER VEHICLE PASSING ME BY AT 60+ MPH. I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE TO AVOID GETTING HIT IN THE REAR. THE VEHICLE FINALLY TOOK OFF BUT NOT WITHOUT JERKING AND RATTLING NOISES. I IMMEDIATELY CAME OFF THE EXPRESS WAY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO STAR NISSAN AND THEY ADMITTED MY CAR ON 10/22/2016. I WAS CONTACTED BY NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY REPLICATED THE PROBLEM AND THE CVT WOULD NEED TO BE CHANGED AND EVERYTHING SHOULD BE FINE. THE CHANGES WERE MADE AND ON 10/28/2016 I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE BACK. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER ON 11/12/2016, 11/16/2016, 04/22/2017, 07/12/2017 7/28/2017 WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND THE PROBLEM HAS NEVER BEEN RECTIFIED. ON 07/01/2017 MY VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN BY A NISSAN SERVICE TECHNICIAN FOR 237 MILES IN ORDER TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AGAIN. THEY WERE SUCCESSFUL BUT NOW STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS A RELAY LIGHT. THEY GAVE ME THE VEHICLE BACK ON 07/06/2017. MY VEHICLE WAS ADMITTED AGAIN ON 07/25/2017 WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. THE TECHNICIAN HAD TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE 344 MILES TO REPLICATE THE SYMPTOMS ONCE AGAIN. HOWEVER MY VEHICLE WAS ADMITTED UNTIL 08/17/2017. THE NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS OFFICE SENT OUT AN ENGINEER WHO MADE RECOMMENDATIONS. THE RECOMMENDATION WAS TO REMOVE BRAKE LIGHT RELAY AND REPLACE BRAKE SWITCH. I WAS GIVEN THE VEHICLE BACK AND THE PROBLEMS HAS PERSIST. ON 11/13/2017 MY CAR JERKED AND CAME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION THIS HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE AND I HAVE ALMOST BEEN A PART OF AN ACCIDENT ON SEVERAL OCCASION DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. I AM NOW CAR-LESS BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
