The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the RPM’s revved up however, the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the shoulder of the road and turned off the vehicle. Roadside assistance was contacted the vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanic determined that the CVT jigger was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, the contact was informed that the warranty repair had expired. A case number was provided. The contact stated that NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V142000 (Power Train) was repaired in Jan 2017. The failure mileage was approximately 153,000
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED WHICH WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
I AM EXPERIENCING FAILURES ON BOTH OF MY SUN VISORS AFTER VERY LIGHT USE. THEY FLOP DOWN AND OBSTRUCT MY VISION WHILE I AM DRIVING CAUSING A SAFETY AND VISIBILITY CONCERN. AFTER DOING RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS AN EXTREMELY WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. NISSAN CHARGES AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT FOR THIS REPLACEMENT PART WHICH DETERS CONSUMERS FROM FIXING THE VISIBILITY ISSUE AND FURTHER EXACERBATES THE SAFETY CONCERN.
"PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" LIGHT ON WHEN A PERSON WEIGHING 100LBS OR MORE ON THE SEAT. TOOK IT IN TO NISSAN AND CLAIM THAT MAYBE THE PERSON WAS NOT SITTING CORRECTLY OR NEEDED TO SHIFT THEIR HIPS IN SEAT. ALSO FIXED A SENSOR OR PART ON THE UNDERSIDE OF SEAT. CORRECTED PROBLEM FOR A LITTLE WHILE, NOW THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING AND THE LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD FOR "AIRBAG WARNING" IS FLASHING. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL TIMES, WHEN VEHICLE IN MOTION AND STOPPED AND PARKED, ETC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE WAS FRACTURED. THE CONTACT HAD TO ROLL DOWN THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A PLASTIC RING INSIDE THE DOOR FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REPAIRS WERE NOT COMPLETED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A FLIPPING NOISE UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V142000 (POWER TRAIN), BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND THE SUN VISORS HAVE AN ISSUE WHERE THEY DO NOT STAY UP. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AS IF YOU GOOGLE IT, THERE ARE MULTIPLE THREADS DESCRIBING THE ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AS THE SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BLOCKS YOUR VISIBILITY. ADDITIONALLY, IT MAKES A LOUD CRACKING SOUND ANYTIME YOU OPEN OR CLOSE IT. I CONTACTED NISSAN LAST YEAR IN 2016 AND THEY BASICALLY SAID, "OH WELL. YOU ARE OUT OF WARRANTY." THE ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND IS ALSO A SAFETY CONCERN. I CAN BE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE SUN VISOR WILL SUDDENLY FALL DOWN AND BLOCK MY VIEW. WHEN I CONTACTED NISSAN LAST YEAR, MY VEHICLE WAS NOT EVEN A YEAR OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAD NOTICED THE ISSUE WITH THE SUN VISORS FOR A WHILE, BUT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE IN PREVIOUSLY DUE TO PERSONAL ISSUES GOING ON (I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A SEPARATION AND DIVORCE). THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR IS HANGING SO LOW NOW THAT I HAVE TO PUSH TO THE LEFT SIDE OF MY VEHICLE IN FRONT OF THE WINDOW SO I CAN SEE WHEN I DRIVE. I HAVE INCLUDED SOME PICTURES SO YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE SUN VISOR IS SITTING ON A PERMANENT BASIS. EVEN IF I PUSH IT UP, IT FALLS BACK TO THIS POSITION. YOU CAN SEE FROM THE FINAL PICTURE THAT IS BASICALLY AT MY EYE LEVEL. I CAN UNDERSTAND NISSAN NOT WANTING TO REPLACE BOTH SUN VISORS, BUT THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. AT $250 A PIECE, I CAN'T REALLY AFFORD TO SPEND $500 TO HAVE THEM BOTH REPAIRED. I HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN AND I'M EXTREMELY CONCERNED FOR THEIR SAFETY AND MINE WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE.
WAS SMOKING WHITE AND SHAKING NOW IT NEEDS A NEW ENGINE. BURNED OIL FAST
DEALER HAS FAILED TO REPAIR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AFTER 3.5 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. THE LATEST RECALL NOTICE WHEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALER AGAIN DID NOT RESULT IN A REPAIR ONLY MORE DELAY AS THEY CLAIMED THE PART NOW HAD TO BE ORDERED. HOWEVER THE NOTICE INDICATED PARTS WERE NOW AVAILABLE
CVT IS FAILING. VEHICLE SHUDDERS AND SHAKES AT LOW SPEEDS AND AT SPEEDS ABOVE 60MPH. NISSAN DEALERSHIP KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED, IT FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS APPLIED TO PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED, BUT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V244000 (STEERING, SUSPENSION). THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE BRAKE FAILURE AND INDICATED THAT EXTENSIVE REPAIRS WERE REQUIRED. THE CONTACT WAS OFFERED A BUY BACK VERSUS A REPAIR SOLUTION. THE DEALER REQUIRED THAT THE CONTACT PICK UP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE BRAKE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE ON INTERIOR BROKE. WILL NOT ALLOW THE DOOR TO OPEN FROM INSIDE. MUST ROLL WINDOW DOWN TO REACH EXTERIOR HANDLE TO OPEN DOOR. THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON COMPLAINT ON MANY 13 NISSAN PATHFINDERS. THIS IS NOT A CHEAP FIX AND ONE THAT MAY BE REQUIRED MANY TIMES THROUGHOUT THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. COULD BE A SAFETY CONCERN IF OCCUPANT MUST EXIT THE VEHICLE QUICKLY. THIS HAPPENED WHILE SITTING IN A PARKING SPOT AND WAS STATIONARY
THE REAR LIFT GATE HAS STOPPED FUNCTIONING FOR THE SECOND TIME SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE CAR ON 12/21/2012. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE MOTOR AGAIN IN 4 YEARS AND TO BE TOLD BY NISSAN THE MOTOR WILL NOT BE COVERED UNLESS THE STRUTS ARE ALSO TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THEIR OWN FAULTINESS. NOT ONLY IS THIS A COSTLY AND INCONVENIENT REPAIR, BUT THE MOTORS ARE ON BACK ORDER ACCORDING TO NISSAN PARTS. THERE IS NO ESTIMATE OF A DELIVERY DATE. THE DOOR WON'T LATCH IF THE MOTOR ISN'T FUNCTIONING. SO, AS A RESULT, I AM DRIVING AROUND WITH A REAR LIFT GATE THAT CAN'T BE MANUALLY CLOSED DUE TO A POOR DESIGN BY NISSAN. SINCE THE LIFT GATE WON'T LATCH MANUALLY THE LIFT GATE HAS HAD TO BE TIED DOWN INTERNALLY TO PREVENT THE LIFT GATE FROM FLYING OPEN WHILE DRIVING. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE SINCE THE DOOR WON'T LATCH AND THIS MAKES THE HAZARD LIGHTS START FLASHING EXTERNALLY AND INTERNALLY IN ADDITION TO WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON CONTINUOUSLY IN THE MESSAGE CENTER. THERE ARE LOUD BEEPS THE ENTIRE CAR RIDE WHICH ARE INCREDIBLY ANNOYING. CARS DRIVING BEHIND ME ARE NOT SURE IF I AM IN DISTRESS OR HAVING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY SINCE THE LIGHTS START FLASHING AT WILL. I AM CONCERNED I WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT! IT HAS BEEN ONE WEEK AND NO RESOLUTION IN SIGHT. I HAVE TO PAY TO GET A NEW MOTOR TO CLOSE MY TAILGATE EVEN IF I WISH TO USE THE MANUAL CLOSE METHOD. I TAKE MY CAR TO STEVEN CREEK NISSAN DEALER LOCATED IN SANTA CLARA CALIFORNIA TO FIX THE BRAKE SWITCH RECALL NTB16-062 ON 10/1/2016. I STARTED HAVE HAVING PROBLEM WITH MY GEAR SHIFT LOCK ISSUE ON 10/18/2016. I CANNOT SHIFT MY GEAR UNLESS I USE A SCREW DRIVE. I CANNOT MOVE MY GEAR FROM PARK POSITION UNLESS I USE A SCREW DRIVER. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER ON 10/29 AND THEY FOUND THAT BRAKE LAMP STOP SWITCH (WHICH THEY INSPECTED ON 10/1) IS OUT OF SPEC AND ADJUSTED BACK INTO SPEC AND RELEASE MY CAR. FOR THAT ADJUSTMENT THEY CHARGE ME $160 FOR IT WHICH I THINK IS UNFAIR BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONE WHO TOUCH IT ON 10/1. BEFORE THEY TOUCH IT I NEVER HAVE THIS PROBLEM. ON 10/30/2016 THE PROBLEM REAPPEARED I STILL CANNOT SHIFT THE GEAR WITHOUT A SCREW DRIVER. CAR TRANSMISSION IS IN SHIFT LOCK. *TR
BOTH VISORS ARE DROOPING. I DON'T MESS WITH THE VISORS AND IT IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT WHEN DRIVING AND HAVE THE VISORS COMING DOWN IN FRONT OF MY EYES. I AM BEGINNING TO THINK THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
TAKATA RECALL-TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED 1500 MILES AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED-STARTED JERKING AT LOW SPEEDS AND FINALLY JUST WOULDNT MOVE AFTER IT WAS PARKED.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH BROKE AND THE DOOR WON'T OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. YOU HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE DOOR CAN ONLY BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS FROM NISSAN. THIS IS A HAZARD AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE DEATH IF SOMEONE CAN'T GET OUT OF THEIR CAR IN AN ACCIDENT OR OTHER EMERGENCY.
THE SUN VISORS ARE DEFECTIVE AND BREAK VERY EASILY. THEY WON'T STAY UP AND YOU HEAR A LOUD CLICKING AFTER A PART BREAKS IN THE VISOR. YOU CAN GOOGLE/YOUTUBE SUN VISOR ISSUES FOR PATHFINDER AND THERE IS A TON OF REPORTS ON THIS. NISSAN IS CHARGING FOLKS ~$190 PER VISOR TO REPAIR THIS WHEN IT IS A DEFECT.
WHILE DRIVING ON SEPTEMBER 219TH, 2016, THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT STARTED FLASHING FOR UNDER A MINUTE, AND THEN THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD CLUSTER PANEL WENT OUT. THE TACHOMETER, SPEEDOMETER, GAS GAUGE, DRIVER SAFETY INFORMATION, LIGHTING AND BREAKS , GEAR MODE, SEAT BELT INDICATOR, ENGINE TEMPERATURE GAUGE ALL WENT BLANK AS THE CAR WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN A STREET APPROXIMATELY 45 MILES AN HOUR. I PULLED THE CAR OFF OF THE ROAD TO A SAFE PLACE. SHUT IT DOWN, AND STARTED IT AGAIN NORMALLY. THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS YET TO COME BACK ON. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE SUV HOME, AND CALLED SOME LOCAL DEALERSHIPS TO GET IT IN TO SERVICE. WHILE WAITING FOR A CALL BACK, I WAS ABLE TO RESEARCH, AND FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNDER TWO RECALLS, 16V-244 FOR OCCS SYSTEM, AND 16V-380 FOR STOP LAMP SWITCH.. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO ROYAL NISSAN IN BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA (225) 924-0400 ON THE 20TH OF SEPTEMBER, 2016. I INFORMED THEM OF THE RECALLS, AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD LOOK INTO THE MATER. ON THE SEPTEMBER 21TH, SERVICE ADVISOR (KENNEY) CALLED ME AND SAID THAT THEY DID NOT YET KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT THE CAR WAS THREE YEARS OLD, AND OUT OF WARRANTY AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS MYSELF BECAUSE THEY WERE PROBABLY NOT RELATED TO THE RECALLS. THAT IS WHERE IT STANDS.AS OF SEPTEMBER 21ST, 2016. I DO NOT THINK THAT I AM BEING UNREASONABLE WHEN I THINK THAT THERE IS A CONNECTION TO THE FLASHING INDICATOR LIGHTS, AND THE DASHBOARD GOING OUT AT THE SAME TIME.
BOTH WINDOW VISORS HAVE BROKEN AND DANGLE IN FRONT OF ME WHEN I'M DRIVING, CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD AS THEY HANG IN THE WAY OF MY FRONT WINDSHIELD AND OBSTRUCT MY VISION. I HAVE ALSO HIT MY HEAD SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THESE DANGLING VISORS WHILE TRYING TO LOOK BOTH WAYS AT A CROSS SECTION, ETC. AFTER SOME RESEARCH ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS APPARENTLY A COMMON DEFECT IN THE PATHFINDER FOR YEARS 2013 - 2015 AND THE PART ATTACHING THE VISOR TO THE ROOF WAS CHEAPLY MADE. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS BUT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE VISORS NOR WILL THEY HELP CONTRIBUTE TO FIXING THE PROBLEM. COST TO FIX TWO VISORS IS $451 PER MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP. *TR
SUN VISOR (DRIVERS SIDE) FELL DOWN AFTER BEING PUSHED BACK INTO THE UP POSITION, BLOCKING MY VISION, DISTRACTING ME, AND REQUIRING ME TO HOLD IT UP WHILE DRIVING UNTIL I COULD SAFELY PULL OVER AND MAKE A TEMPORARY REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED, I HAD JUST COMPLETED A TURN AND WAS MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. BOTH VISORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY ONCE.
SUNVISORS BREAK TOO EASY. THERE ARE MULTIPLE REPORTS ON INTERNET A PIECE OF PLASTIC BREAKS IN MODELS AS NEW AS 2014. IN MY PATHFINDER BOTH SUNVISORS BROKE AND I HAD TO PURCHASE REPLACEMENTS.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FAILED. UPON REGULAR USE (I.E., NO PULLING, TWISTING, EXCESSIVE FORCE) IT FAILED TO OPEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND MADE A CRUNCHING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE ONLY WAY TO EXIT THE DRIVER DOOR IS TO PUT THE WINDOW DOWN AND PULL THE EXTERIOR HANDLE. THE INTERIOR HANDLE MOVES, BUT DOES NOT ENGAGE THE DOOR. THE DRIVER CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE IF THE POWER IS OFF. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VERY ISSUE (DOWN TO THE "CRUNCHING NOISE" DETAIL) ON VARIOUS PATHFINDER OWNER FORUMS ONLINE. THIS IS CLEARLY A MASSIVE MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT OR OTHER EMERGENCY A DRIVER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE QUICKLY ENOUGH AND THIS POSES A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK FOR THE DRIVER.
DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP. THE CLIP IS BROKEN INSIDE TO HOLD THE VISOR UP THE SUN VISOR FLAPS DOWN DURING DRIVING OBSTRUCTING THE VIEW FOR THE DRIVER THAT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS HARM TO OCCUPANTS AND OTHERS/VEHICLES. CAR HAS 56,000 MILES AND IS OUT OF MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY.
INTERIOR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE STOPPED WORKING. I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR UNDER NORMAL USE AND THE LEVER JUST MOVES FREELY WITHOUT CATCHING THE LATCH. EXTERIOR HANDLE STILL WORKS, BUT INTERIOR HANDLE NO LONGER FUNCTIONS.
I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. I DID A RECALL ON CRT I BELIEVE IT WAS CALLED. THE CAR WOULD SHAKE AT AROUND 20-30. THEY HAD A RECALL FOR IT. IT FIXED IT FOR ABOUT 20,000 MILES AND IT IS DOING IT AGAIN. THE SERVICE MAN SAID I NEED TO DO TRANSMISSION FLUSH. THAT WILL NOT STOP THE SHAKING! I WENT TO ACCELERATE YESTERDAY IN AN INTERSECTION AND IT WOULD NOT GO. AFTER CONTINUELY TRYING IT WENT. ALSO AM STILL WAITING ON RECALL FOR FRONT SEAT AIRBAG LIGHT. THEY NEVER CALLED ME TO SAY IT WAS IN. THAT WAS A MONTH AGO. I HAVE ALSO JUST REPLACED THE VISOR BECAUSE IT WAS FALLING AND NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE IS DOING IT. WORST, MOST UNSAFE CAR I HAVE EVER HAD.
A PART THAT ALLOWS THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR TO ROTATE UP AND DOWN IS BROKEN. WHEN RETURNED TO ITS HOLDING POSITION AND RELEASED IT FALLS BACK DOWN BLOCKING THE DRIVING VIEW. IN MY HUMBLE OPINION IT WAS POORLY MANUFACTURED BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE IS JUST OVER THREE YEARS OLD AND FOR A PART THAT REQUIRE MULTIPLE USE AND PRESENT A DRIVING SAFETY HAZARD IF NOT WORKING PROPERLY DUE TO DEFECTIVE PARTS, SHOULD BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY.
AIRBAG SENSOR RECALL - PART WAS ORDERED JULY 7, 2016. AT TIME SENSORS APPEARED TO BE WORKING. AS OF AUGUST 16TH, SENSORS NO LONGER SENSING WEIGHT IN PASSENGER SEAT, NO LONGER WORKING. NISSAN REFUSING TO PROVIDE EQUIVALENT LONG TERM LOANER AND DEALERSHIP (LUTHER NISSAN KIA, INVER GROVE HEIGHTS) ALSO REFUSING TO PROVIDE EQUIVALENT SIZED LOANER (FAMILY NEEDS 3RD ROW) CONTACTED NISSAN REGIONAL SPECIALIST JUSTIN - HE SAID THERE IS NOTHING NISSAN IS WILLING TO DO (SUPPLY PART SOONER OR LOANER). HAVE ALSO ESCALATED TO MN ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE. HAVE ALSO ESCALATED TO NISSAN EXECUTIVE OFFICE (RAVEN), BUT SO FAR ONLY PLAYING PHONE TAG WITH. NEED ASSISTANCE WITH NISSAN SO THAT MY PASSENGER HAS AN AIRBAG. AT TIMES NOT ABLE TO DRIVE VEHICLE WHEN PASSENGER NEEDS TO ACCOMPANY. REQUEST EQUIVALENT SIZED LOANER UNTIL PARTS/REPAIR COMPLETED ON OWNED VEHICLE AS WELL AS AIRBAG SENSOR IN WORKING CONDITION AFTER REPAIR. NISSAN COMPANY PORTRAYED A "WE DON'T CARE" ATTITUDE AND WOULDN'T ALLOW COMMENTS TO BE MADE "ON RECORD" OR RECORDED.

SUN VISOR CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES. SUN VISOR HAS CRACKED ON INSIDE AND NOW IT DOES NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY. INNER PARTS ARE PLASTIC AND HEAT HAS CAUSED IT TO CRACK AND WARP WHICH NOW IT WILL HANG INTO MY FIELD OF VISION AND PREVENT ME FROM SEEING THE ROAD AHEAD. IT DOES THIS CONSTANTLY. I SEE ON THE INTERNET SEVERAL COMPLAINT FOR THIS MODEL OF CAR WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
NISSAN-USA HAS KNOWN ABOUT A CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICHLE. WE PURCHASED IT USED IN FEBRUARY 2016. LECKNER HAD THE VEHICLE IN STOCK WHEN THE ANNOUNCEMENT WAS MADE AND DID NOTHING TO REPAIR THE ISSUE. THEY SOLD US THE VEHICLE WITHOUT DISCLOSING THE INFORMATION. NISSAN NOW DOES NOT WANT TO MAKE ANY REPAIRS, THOUGH THE CAR ID DEEMED DANGEROUS AS THE ENGINE MAKES SUDDEN JERKING AND SHUDDERING WHEN ACCELERATIONS. THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST TWO CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS WHERE NISSAN HAS AGREED TO FIX THE ISSUE OR CHANGE A NEW ENGINE. WHEN CALLING AND DEALING WITH LECKNER AND NISSAN THEY KEEP SAYING THE ISSUE IS CLOSED AND WON'T DO ANYTHING.
BOTH SUN VISORS BROKE APPROXIMATELY 3 AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. OVER TIME THE VISORS HAVE DROPPED DOWN INTO THE DRIVERS LINE OF VISION. IT IS DISTRACTING AND PREVENTS FULL RANGE OF VISION. I AM AFRAID IT IS GOING TOO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
FEW WEEKS AGO, I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER NUMBER NHTSA RECALL 16V-244. I CALLED NISSAN DEALER AT SW FREEWAY TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NO PART TO FIX IT YET. I CALLED THE DEALER SECOND TIME ONE WEEK AFTER THE FIRST TIME. THEY TOLD ME THE SAME ANSWER. I RECEIVED THE SECOND RECALL TODAY 7/30/2016 WITH DIFFERENT PROBLEM. THE RECALL NUMBER NHTSA RECALL 16V-380. I CALLED THE NISSAN DEALER RIGHT AFTER I RECEIVED THE SECOND RECALL. THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NO PART TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM REALLY CONCERN AND WORRY ABOUT THESE. THE SECOND RECALL IS REGARDING ABOUT "THE BRAKE STOP LAMP SWITCH MAY HAVE BEEN INSTALLED OUT OF SPECIFICATION". I THINK THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND RISKY FOR THE DRIVERS AND THE PASSENGERS. WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INJURY OR THE DEATH OF THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS (ESPECIALLY FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY MEMBERS)? PLEASE SOLVE THESE RECALL ASAP BEFORE THE ISSUE OCCUR. THANKS!
I WAS NOTIFIED OF A RECALL FOR THE BRAKES TOP LAMP SWITCH & PASSENGER AIR BAG DETECTION. I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO THE DEALERSHIP & WAS NOTIFIED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE NISSAN HAD NOT GIVEN THEM THE NECESSARY PARTS TO FIX THE DEFECTS. SO WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT?
MY PATHFINDER IS PREOWNED BY A LEASING COMPANY BUT I HAVE NOTICED FOR THE LAST YEAR THAT THE ENGINE SHUDDERS DURING ACCELERATION ON THE HIGHWAY AND/OR INCREASING MORE OFTEN ON ROADS WHEN I'M GOING TO ACCELERATE. I LET UP ON ACCELERATION AND THEN CONTINUE TO GET IT TO A DIFFERENT SPEED THEN PUSH ON THE ACCELERATOR AND TYPICALLY IT RESOLVES ITSELF BUT COULD BE VERY UNSAFE, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT APPEARS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH OTHERS AS WELL. MY INTERIOR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE ALSO BROKE (OTHER COMPLAINTS ON HERE REGARDING DRIVER SIDE). THE DOOR HANDLE SIMPLY QUIT WORKING AND APPEARS TO HAVE NO RESISTANCE. VERY UNSAFE DUE TO THE FACT THAT IF POWER IS LOST FROM THE VEHICLE THE PASSENGER IS UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE.
CONCERNING THE 2ND ROW DOOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE: THE INTERIOR HANDLE IS "STICKING" OPEN SUCH THAT THE DOOR DOES NOT FULLY CLOSE, AND AT ONE POINT OPENED ENTIRELY WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE INTERIOR HANDLE MUST BE MANUALLY PRESSED DOWN AND THE DOOR TESTED FROM THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE TO CONFIRM THAT IT IS IN FACT CLOSED.
I HAD MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SHOWING AIRBAG OFF WHEN I AM SITTING IN THE VEHICLE WITH THE VEHICLE IN MOTION. EVERY TIME I MENTIONED THE PROBLEM I WAS GIVEN AN EXCUSE AS TO WHY IT IS HAPPENING. THE WAY I SIT ANDTHE VEHICLE HAS TO BE SHUT OFF AND ON AGAIN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM ARE EXCUSES GIVEN. WHEN THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED I FIGURED THE PROBLEM WOULD FINALLY BE FIXED. I WAS WRONG, THE PROBLEM HAS BECOME 100 TIMES WORSE. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN AND A REPROGRAM WAS PERFORMED. NOW EVERYTIME I GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE THE LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE SAYING AIRBAG OFF AND WHEN I SIT IN THE SEAT AND THE DRIVER STARTS TO DRIVE IT WILL STAY ILLUMINATED FOR ABOUT 20-25 MINUTES AT ANY SPEED FROM LOCAL TO HIGHWAY. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO FOR A PERMANENT FIX.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FAILED. UPON REGULAR USE (I.E., NO PULLING, TWISTING, EXCESSIVE FORCE) IT FAILED TO OPEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND MADE A CRUNCHING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE ONLY WAY TO EXIT THE DRIVER DOOR IS TO PUT THE WINDOW DOWN AND PULL THE EXTERIOR HANDLE. THE INTERIOR HANDLE MOVES BUT DOES NOT ENGAGE THE DOOR. THE DRIVER CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE IF THE POWER IS OFF. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VERY ISSUE (DOWN TO THE "CRUNCHING NOISE" DETAIL) ON VARIOUS PATHFINDER OWNER FORUMS ONLINE.

THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO MOVE OUT OF PARK AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE CONTACT WAITED FIVE MINUTES AND WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES AND BATTERY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE REAR DOOR FAILED TO OPEN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
THE HOOD ON MY VEHICLE FLEW OPEN WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH DOWN THE ROAD. NISSAN FIXED THE ISSUE. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DOES NOT WORK WHEN SOMEONE IS SITTING IN PASSENGER SEAT UNDER 130 LBS. I GOT A RECALL NOTIFICATION. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN TO HAVE THEM FIX THIS 3 TIMES AND THEY TELL ME THEY DON'T HAVE THE PART. MY HUSBAND WEIGHS 128 LBS AND THE AIRBAG DOES NOT DETECT HIM SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IF I WERE TO GET IN A WRECK THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY WITH MY HUSBAND SITTING IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I HAVE TOLD NISSAN THIS NUMEROUS TIMES BUT THEY SAY THEY CANNOT GET THE PART IN. I THINK THAT IS VERY DANGEROUS.

WHILE TRAVELING ON RT 75 IN FLORIDA THE LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I THOUGHT I HIT SOMETHING BIG IN THE ROAD AS THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE & THE CAR ACTED AS IF IT WERE WOUNDED. I CHANGED THE TIRE MYSELF AS THE SERVICE PEOPLE WE CALLED WEREN'T ABLE TO LOCATE US WITH THE LIMITED INFORMATION WE HAD. I DISCOVERED A 3 INCH SQUARE PART OF THE SIDEWALL STILL ATTACHED TO THE TIRE. WE CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURES BEFORE WE STARTED OUT ON OUR TRIP FROM LAUREL, DELAWARE. THE CAR HAS SENSORS ON THE TIRES & GIVES A WARNING IF THE TIRE PRESSURE IS LOW. WE PURCHASED THE CAR NEW (LEFTOVER) WITH ABOUT 8 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I UNDERSTAND THEY INFLATE THE TIRES WITH NITROGEN IF THAT HAS ANY BEARING ON WHAT HAPPENED. WE HAD THE TIRE FIXED AT A NISSAN DEALER IN FORT MYERS. I TOOK MANY PICTURES OF THE TIRE THAT BLEW-OUT BEFORE I HAD THEM REPLACE IT.

THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH BROKE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN THE VEHICLE DOOR FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN THE VEHICLE WAS TO LOWER THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW AND REACH OUTSIDE TO THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. THIS LENGTHENED THE TIME AND EFFORT SIGNIFICANTLY IN EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE HANDLE MECHANISM BROKE INSIDE THE DOOR PANEL AND OCCURRED DURING REGULAR EXIT OF THE VEHICLE MAKING IT UNUSABLE UNTIL REPLACED BY NISSAN AT MY COST. NISSAN DID COVER THE PART AS A WARRANTY REPAIR.
