I HAVE A 2014 PATHFINDER, IT STARTED DISCHARGING MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF WHITE SMOKE FROM THE TAILPIPE. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND THEY SAID THAT IT NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. HE EXPLANED, THAT THE OIL RINGS ARE BAD AND OIL IS LEAKING IN THE ENGINE AND THAT THE ONLY SOLUTION WAS A NEW ENGINE ASAP. MY CAR HAS LESS THAN 83,000 MILES. MY MECHANIC SAID I COULD TAKE THE ISSUE UP WITH NISSAN DIRECTLY AND MAYBE THEY WOULD HELP OUT BECAUSE THESE CARS ARE KNOWN TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I KEPT UP WITH MY MAINTENANCE. I'M ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED AND UPSET WITH THIS PROBLEM. IT HAS TO BE A KNOWN MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE THAT NISSAN IS AWARE WITH AND NEEDS TO ADDRESS.
2014 PATHFINDER STARTED EMITTING LOTS OF WHITE SMOKE FROM TAILPIPE ALMOST OUT OF NOWHERE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT IT NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. ASKED FOR A BETTER EXPLANATION, AND THEY SAID THAT FLUIDS ARE GETTING INTO THE CYLINDERS AND THAT THE ONLY SOLUTION WAS A NEW ENGINE. VERY SHORT, WOULD NOT EXPLAIN ANY FURTHER. THE CAR IS ABOUT 5 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT UNDER THE WARRANTY MILEAGE. THEY SAID I COULD TAKE THE ISSUE UP WITH NISSAN DIRECTLY AND MAYBE THEY WOULD HELP OUT. I KEPT UP WITH MY OIL CHANGES, KEPT FLUIDS TOPPED OFF. I'M COMPLETELY BESIDES MYSELF WITH THIS PROBLEM. IT HAS TO BE A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. HOPING TO FIND THAT THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE THAT NISSAN IS FAMILIAR WITH AND DECIDING TO OWN UP TO.
WAS DRIVING ON THE EWAY WITH MY FAMILY AND HEARD A LOUD BOOM. THEN HEARD WIND AND PIECES OF GLASS ABOVE THE SUNROOF VISOR. PULLED OVER AND CONFIRMED THAT MY SUNROOF EXPLODED.
ON 7/19/19, MY CAR WAS SERVICED FOR BROKEN PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR DUE TO TECHNICIAN FINDING WATER BOTTLE UNDERNEATH THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT. PAID $638 FOR THE REPLACEMENT. LESSON LEARNED, NO WATER BOTTLES ALLOWED IN CAR. LESS THAN 2 MONTHS LATER, ON 9/12/19, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHTS GO ON AGAIN!! BROUGHT CAR TO SERVICE ON 9/19 AND TECHNICIAN FINDS CLIP TO SENSOR SNAPPED. NO WATER BOTTLE, NO KNOWN REASON WHY THE SENSOR IS BROKEN. HAD TO PAY ANOTHER $189 TO REPLACE IT AGAIN!! I'M TIRE OF THIS PATTERN IF YOU JUST SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, OR BREATHE THERE, THE SENSOR WILL BREAK!! NISSAN HAS DONE A HORRIBLE JOB AT DESIGNING A PROTECTIVE AREA AROUND THE AIRBAG SENSOR!! I CONTACTED CONSUMER SERVICES AT NISSAN AND THEY JUST TOLD ME THEY WILL REVIEW THE CASE AND IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT AFTER MY CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. I AM FURIOUS AND EVEN MORE CONCERNED THAT THERE WILL BE MORE SENSOR FAILURES AND AIRBAG MALFUNCTIONS IN THE NEAR FUTURE!! I FEEL NISSAN'S POOR QUALITY IS DISRUPTING MY FAMILY LIFE AND MY WORK. I CAN'T KEEP GOING BACK TO GET THIS SERVICE REPEATEDLY!! THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION & RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE ASAP!!
I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION AND ATTEMPTED TO OPEN MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND THE HANDLE WOULD NOT WORK. IT MADE A CRUNCH SOUND AND I COULD NO LONGER USE IT. I NOW HAVE TO LEAVE MY CAR ON, ROLL MY WINDOW DOWN, REACH TO OPEN THE CAR FROM THE OUTSIDE, ROLL THE WINDOW BACK UP, THEN TURN MY CAR OFF. I HAD PARKED MY CAR IN A PARKING LOT ON A LEVEL SURFACE WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE 2016. IN 2017 MY VEHICLE STALLED AT A BUSY EXIT RAMP AFTER SHAKING. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT SEPTEMBER 11, 2019 MY VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN ON A BUSY EXIT RAMP. THE WARNING ON THE VEHICLE STATED HYBRID SYSTEM OVERHEATING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALER BECAUSE OF THE SHAKING AND STALLING AND TWO DAYS LATER I RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK. THE SERVICE REPORT STATES THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14TH MY VEHICLE WAS WORSE THAN BEFORE WITH TWO WARNING LIGHTS. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER ON SEPTEMBER 16TH. ON SEPTEMBER 17TH I RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FROM THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT THE ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE IS THE TRANSMISSION. THE SHAKING HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE 2017 BUT ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE AGENTS THEY NEVER EXPERIENCED IT UNTIL SEPTEMBER 16TH.
UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD CRACKED. THIS WAS FOUND OUT BY ROUGH IDLING, SLOW ACCELERATION, INCREASED GAS USAGE, AND ENGINE LIGHT ON.
SINCE I GOT THE CAR THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON A SENSOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.. FIRST THE AIR BAG SENSOR THEN THE SEAT BELT SENSOR. NOW THE AIR BAG IS TOTALLY OFF AND WONT COME BACK ON.. THEY ARE TELLING ME THE WARRANTY IS OVER THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND I WANT NISSAN TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR.. IT IS NO LONGER SAFE TO HAVE A PASSENGER WITH ME IN THE FRONT WHAT CAN I DO?
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN MY OVERDRIVE OFF BUTTON TURNED OFF THE OVERDRIVE WITHOUT IT BEING PUSHED, MY VEHICLES RPM'S WENT UP TO BETWEEN 6000 AND 6500 WHEN I PUSHED THE BUTTON ON THE SHIFTER IT RE-ENGAGED BUT THE RPM'S WHERE AT A CONSTANT 3500-4500 AND THEN I LOST ALL ACCELERATION AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR BUT THE RPM'S STAYED AT ABOUT 4000. I NEEDED TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. I WAS TOWED TO A NEARBY DEALER AND I'M WAITING FOR THEM TO INFORM ME OF WHAT THE ISSUE IS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE DRIVER SLID DOWN UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL TO ATTEMPT TO STOP THE VEHICLE WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ASHEBORO NISSAN (1635 E DIXIE DR, ASHEBORO, NC 27203, (336) 625-2500) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED TO OPERATE IN THAT MANNER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
VEHICLE SHUDDERS / SHAKES WHEN DRIVING 30-45 MPH. FEELS LIKE NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY
I HAD 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND MY VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND PASSED WITH NO ISSUES IN JUNE 2019. THE DAY OF THE ACCIDENT, I DROVE ALL MORNING WITH NO TYPE OF INCIDENTS. MY NIECE, WHO LIVES ON A HILL WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME AND I PICKED HER THAT MORNING FROM HER HOUSE. SHE HAD TO RETURNED TO HER HOUSE LATER THAT MORNING FOR AN ITEM SO I DROVE BACK UP THE HILL, WAITED FOR HER IN HER DRIVEWAY, LEFT HER HOUSE AND AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HILL I REALIZED THAT MY BRAKES WAS NOT FUNCTIONING, MY EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT APPEARED AND THEN ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD TURNED ON. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WASN'T WORKING AND I COULDN'T STOP THE CAR. I KEPT PRESSING MY BRAKES AND NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. IT JUST KEPT GOING! AT THAT POINT, I LOOKED AROUND TO SEE THE BEST PLACE TO CRASH. I CAME DOWN THE HILL CROSSED OVER ONE OF THE MAIN ROADS AND STEERED MY CAR INTO A FENCE AND WE HIT A TREE. ALL OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND I WAS GRATEFUL THAT BOTH MY NIECE AND I HAD NO MAJOR INJURIES. MY VEHICLE WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I HAD NO ISSUES WITH MY BRAKES IN THE PAST! I DID FIND OUT THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE SOFTWARE IN THE 2013 AND 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDERS MODEL-YEARS AND THERE WAS A RECALL. I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE IN 2014 HOWEVER I NEVER GOT A RECALL NOTICE. I ALSO HAD MY VEHICLE SERVICE AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND BRAKE SOFTWARE FAILURES WAS NEVER COMMUNICATED TO ME. SOMETHING WENT TERRIBLY WRONG WITH MY BRAKES OR THE SOFTWARE THAT DAY.
2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO BRAKE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. *AS THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING. THE CONSUMER CRASHED INTO A FENCE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WAITED TEN MINUTES, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN RECALL REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DOWNEY NISSAN (7321 FIRESTONE BLVD, DOWNEY, CA 90241, (888) 483-6228). THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD ONLY COULD REPROGRAM THE TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING SALVAGED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
THE SUNVISORS ( BOTH SIDES) MECHANISM THAT HOLDS THEM IN POSITION WILL BREAK FROM STANDARD NORMAL USE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE SUNVISORS WILL NOT STAY IN THE POSITION THAT THE OPERATOR PUTS THE SUNVISORS IN AND TEND TO BE FLOPPY. THIS MAKES A DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE THE SUNVISORS MAY FALL DOWN WHEN NOT INTENDED OR NOT STAY IN POSITION TO NEEDED TO BLOCK SUN GLARE. THE SUNVISORS MAY ALSO HANG LOWER IN THE STOWED POSITION CREATING AND EDGE A PERSON COULD HIT THEIR HEAD ON ON AND ABRUPTL STOP. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE CAR IS STOPPED OR IN MOTION, BUT BECOMES WORSE IN ROUGH ROAD CONDITIONS. THE CAUSE IS DUE TO THE INTERNAL PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE SPRING CLIP ON THE INSIDE ON THE VISOR. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS IN ONLINE FORUMS AND EVEN YOUTUBE VIDEOS SHOWING DIY FIXES. OEM REPLACEMENT PART IS ANOUT $150. PICTURES ATTACHED SHOW BOTH SUNVISORS. DRIVERS SIDE IS OPERATING NORMAL, AND THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR IS SHOWN IN THE POSITIONS THAT IT CAN STOP AT. NOTICE INTHE STOWED POSITION PASSENGER VISOR HANGS LOW. AND IN THE DOWN POSITION IT WILL NOT STAY ALL THE WAY OUT. THEY WILL EVENTUALLY DEGRADE UNTIL THEY JUST HANG DOWN LOOSELY AND NOT MAINTAIN ANY POSITION.
I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE YOU AWARE OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER HYBRID WHICH YOU SHOULD NOTIFY OTHER CUSTOMERS OF AS WELL. THE REAR BLOWER MOTOR IS USED TO COOL THE VERY EXPENSIVE BATTERY SYSTEM AND HOLD OFF BATTERY FAILURE. THERE ARE NO SENSORS OR FEEDBACK MONITORING OF THE REAR BLOWER MOTOR TO CONFIRM IT IS OPERATIONAL. THE REAR BLOWER MOTOR OF MY PATHFINDER HAS DIED 3 TIMES WITHOUT ISSUING EITHER A SERVICE CODE OR ANY INDICATION OF A SYSTEM FAILURE. THIS HAS THEN LED TO THE DEATH OF THE VERY EXPENSIVE BATTERY PACK. THE FIRST FAILURE HAPPENED IN 2016 AT 37,000 MILES AND IT APPEARS TO HAVE A MODULUS OF ROUGHLY 35,000 BETWEEN DEATHS AND SHOULD BE PRO-ACTIVELY REPLACED BY THE OWNER TO PREVENT THE VERY EXPENSIVE BATTERY FROM HAVING TO BE REPLACED. THE ONLY INDICATION TO THE USER THAT ANYTHING IS WRONG IS THAT THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE IN MOTION. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND WAS STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE LANE UNTIL A POLICE VEHICLE ARRIVED. THE NEXT TIME WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHEN I WAS ON SIDE STREETS WHERE THE CAR CAME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF AN UNLIT ROAD, WITH THE BATTERY DYING COMPLETELY AFTER AN HOUR WHILE WAITING ON A TOW TRUCK. THE LAST ROUND HAPPENED 3 WEEKS AGO (ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON THANKFULLY WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT POSSIBILITY) - THE CAR WENT INTO THE SHOP AND THE VERY EXPENSIVE BATTERY WAS REPLACED BUT NOT THE REAR BLOWER (AS THEY WERE UNAWARE OF THE FAILURE). I GOT THE CAR BACK FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS BEFORE THE CAR DIED AGAIN WITH THE SAME ERROR - AT WHICH POINT THE TECHNICIANS IDENTIFIED THE REAR BLOWER DIED (AGAIN). YOU SHOULD NOTIFY OTHER CUSTOMERS OF THIS 5 YEAR OLD PRODUCT OF THE DESIGN DEFECT AND THE NEED TO CHECK THE BLOWER FAN REGULARLY TO ENSURE THE VERY EXPENSIVE BATTERY HAS A LONG LIFE.
THE VISOR DOES NOT STAND FLUSH WITH THE ROOF, IT DROPS DOWN INTO THE DRIVER'S LINE OF SIGHT. THEY WILL OFTEN FALL COMPLETELY DOWN, MAKING IT A SAFETY ISSUE FOR THE DRIVER.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. I HAD TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER. I HAD MY 2 YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND THIS COULD HAVE LED TO A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT. THE CAR IS 4.5 YEARS OLD AND HAS UNDER 39,000 MILES ON IT. NISSAN HAS DETERMINED THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND IS REPLACING IT UNDER WARRANTY. THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH THE 2013 AND 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDERS ARE WELL KNOWN AT THIS POINT. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. ORDER A RECALL NOW.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION 3 TIMES
SECOND ROW SINGLE SEAT WOBBLES
THE SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS DEFECTIVE, LEADING TO IMPAIRED VISIBILITY DURING DRIVING. THE VISOR SOMETIMES FALLS TO A VERTICAL POSITION UNDER GRAVITY ONLY. THIS OBSTRUCTS FORWARD VISION AND ALSO OBSTRUCTS LINE OF SIGHT TO THE REARVIEW MIRROR. AT OTHER TIMES, THE VISOR PARTIALLY SAGS, CREATING A CONDITION WHERE THE FRONT EDGE OF THE VISOR IS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE DRIVER'S FACE. IT'S FORESEEABLE THAT A CONDITION COULD OCCUR WHERE THE VISOR COULD CAUSE INJURY BY CONTACT WITH THE DRIVER'S FACE DURING SUDDEN DECELERATION. THERE ARE NO POSITIONS THAT THE VISOR CAN BE PUT IN THAT DO NOT OBSTRUCT THE DRIVER'S VISION.
SUN VISORS WILL NOT STAY UP. THEY ARE FALLING OFF DOWN AUTOMATICALLY. PLEASE MAKE NISAAN TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IT IS DANGEROUS DURING LINE CHANGE AND MAKING TURNS THIS ITEM IS ALREADY REPLACED ONCE. BEEN USING THIS VEHICLE FOR 5 PLUS YEARS. RARELY I HAVE PERSON SITTING IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT
WE WERE DRIVING OUT OF TOWN ON VACATION WHEN OUR SUNROOF EXPLODED OUT OF NO WHERE. IT WAS ABOUT 9:30 IN THE MORNING ON FRIDAY JULY 19TH. WE WERE HEADING EAST BOUND ON THE 10 FREEWAY IT WAS ABOUT 90 DEGREES OUTSIDE WITH NO OTHER CARS AROUND. THE NOISE WAS SO LOUD IT SCARED EVERYONE IN THE CAR. WE HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN FOR HELP AND THEY HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNWILLING TO HELP US AT ALL. THEY BASICALLY SAID TO BAD IT'S YOUR PROBLEM NOT OURS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ABRUPTLY AND THEN DECELERATED TO 10 MPH. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO START THE ENGINE AND THE SPEED WOULD NOT EXCEED 50 MPH. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO A FUEL STATION AND THEN HAD IT TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN NISSAN DEALER. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC THAT LOCATED A FAILURE CODE REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,800. *AS *TR
MY SUNROOF GLASS JUST SHATTERED OUT OF NOWHERE WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY!!!
FAULTY BREAK RELAY SWITCH. IT PREVENTS ACCELERATION. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED SOME ONE TO REAR END ME.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR HAS AN INNER PLASTIC PIECE BROKEN WHICH MAKES THE SUN VISOR RANDOMLY FALL, BLOCKING MY VIEW WHEN DRIVING. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE ON MANY 2014 PATHFINDERS THAT CAN BE FIXED BY MAKING THE PARTS (VISOR) BETTER, OR BY SELLING A REPLACEMENT PART FOR THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT EASILY BREAKS. INSTEAD, THE MANUFACTURER ONLY SELLS AS A REPLACEMENT PART, THE EXACT SAME VISOR THAT IS LIKELY TO BREAK AGAIN. A SECOND ISSUE ON THIS CAR IS THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE DOOR. I FIND MYSELF OFTEN TRAPPED INSIDE THE CAR OR OUTSIDE THE CAR DUE TO THIS DOOR HANDLE MALFUNCTION. THIS COULD EASILY BECOME A LIFE/DEATH SAFETY ISSUE IF EVER I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS TRAPPED INSIDE THE CAR. THIS IS ANOTHER COMMON DEFECT ON THIS CAR CAUSED BY A CHEAP PLASTIC PIECE BREAKING. ANOTHER PROBLEM BESIDES BEING TRAPPED IN THE CAR IS THAT SOMETIMES THE DOOR OPENS WHILE DRIVING. IT'S A HAZARD HAVING IT FLAPPING IN FRONT OF DRIVER AND MY PASSENGER SIDE IS FAILING. NISSAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!! I'VE PUT ENOUGH $$$ INTO THIS CAR, IT'S LIKE MY MONEY PIT!! BOUGHT CAR A YEAR AGO, EVERYTHING FINE. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG STOPPED WORKING OR STOPPED DETECTING ANYONE SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT. AN APPARENT KNOWN ISSUE FOR NISSAN FROM 2013-2017. I WAS DRIVING WHILE I HAD A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT AND NOTICED THE AIRBAG WAS TURNED OFF. AND LIGHT WAS FLASHING. THE PERSON WAS OVER THE WEIGHT LIMIT THAT TURNS IT OFF. I TRIED REACHING OUT TO NISSAN AND THEY STATED IT'S ONLY VIN SPECIFIC BUT YET IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS YEAR AND MODEL AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS.
BRAKE LAMP RELAY WENT BAD AND BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ON AFTER REMOVING FOOT FROM BRAKE PEDAL. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, RUNNING, DRIVING. ON OR OFF. THERE IS A RECALL ON SOME PATHFINDERS, BUT OURS IS NOT ONE. HAD TO PAY TO REPAIR MYSELF. THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED TO ALL PATHFINDERS.
THE DOOR HANDLE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE SNAPPED AND THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE NOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. UPON OPENING THE LIFTGATE, THE PASSENGER SIDE STRUT ARM FRACTURED AND A POPPING NOISE WAS HEARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GATE LOWERED AND STRUCK HIM ON THE HEAD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. BOCH NISSAN (525 BOSTON PROVIDENCE HWY, NORWOOD, MA 02062) DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIFTGATE STRUT SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT SENT PICTURES OF THE LIFTGATE CORROSION. THE MANUFACTURER OPENED A CASE AND AGREED TO COVER 70% OF THE REPAIR COST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
SOMETIMES MY PATHFINDER DOES NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL. IT TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHEN I AM TRYING TO DRIVE AFTER A STOP SIGN OR A RED LIGHT, BUT SOMETIMES IT WILL EVEN HAPPEN WHEN I'M TURNING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE, BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. IT'S INTERMITTENT, SO IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME.
CAR SHAKES WHEN GOING AT LOW SPEEDS AND LIGHTLY PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL, IT SEEMS AS IF THE TRANSMISSIONS TRIES TO SHIFT BUT THE GEAR DOESN'T GO IN. THE CAR CONSUMES MORE GAS THAN USUAL, AND IT FEELS VERY HEAVY EVEN WHEN FLOORING THE GAS PEDAL.
POWER LIFTGATE OF OUR SUV AUTOMATICALLY CLOSES ONCE THE GATE REACHES THE TOP OF ITS "OPEN" POSITION. SUDDEN CLOSURE IS A LIFE THREATENING EVENT TO A SMALL CHILD AT OR NEAR THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. SAID TO BE A "SPINDLE" PROBLEM.
PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP CREATING A BLIND SPOT/VISIBILITY HAZARD. DRIVER SIDE IS BEGINNING TO STAY DOWN LOWER FROM THE ROOF OF THE CAR ALSO. PASSENGER SIDE NOW STAYS DOWN ALL THE TIME AND WHEN PUSHED UP IMMEDIATELY FALLS BACK DOWN

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. ALSO, THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR NO LONGER STAYS IN THE 'UP' POSITION AND 'OPENS' WHENEVER I AM DRIVING, ESPECIALLY IF I HIT A BUMP. THE VISOR SUDDENLY DROPS AND HANGS DOWN, DIRECTLY IMPAIRING MY ABILITY TO SEE THE ROAD. WHENEVER I TRY TO PUT THE VISOR BACK UP TO ITS 'UP' POSITION IT MAKES A LOUD CREAKING NOISE
MY VEHICLE WILL MAKE STARTLING RATTLING SOUNDS UNDER THE HOOD WHENEVER THE HEAT OR AIR CONDITIONING IS ON WHETHER THE CAR IS IDLE OR IN MOTION. WHENEVER THIS OCCURS, THE VEHICLE ALSO HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING AS IF IT WILL CUT OFF.

A PLASTIC PIECE IN MY VISORS IS BROKEN. THIS SEEMS TO BE A HUGE COMPLAINT FROM OTHER NISSAN PATHFINDER OWNERS AS WELL. VISORS HANG DOWN IN THE WAY OF VISION WHILE DRIVING.
OUR NISSAN PATHFINDER IS GIVING US INACCURATE FUEL GAUGE READING WHEN THE FUEL IN THE TANK IS AT 1/4 OR BELOW. IT CAN SHOW US THAT WE HAVE 120 MILES TO EMPTY TANK AND 5 MINUTES LATER THAT WE HAVE 20 MILES TO EMPTY, THEN IT COULD STAY AT 20 MILES FOR MORE THAN 50-60 MILES DRIVEN. THIS CAUSES ROAD HAZARD SINCE WE CAN'T TELL EXACTLY HOW MUCH FUEL WE HAVE IN THE TANK AND WE ALWAYS HAVE TO KEEP IT ABOVE 1/2 OF THE TANK TO AVOID ISSUES.

THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED THAT THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT IMPACT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,756.
THE CAR WAS UNRESPONSIVE TO ACCELERATION ON HIGHWAY AND STALLED DUE TO FAULTY TRANSMISSION. MY WIFE AND TWO KIDS WERE STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK CAR IN FOR CONCERNS ABOUT TRANSMISSION AT 77 K MILES WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY SAID IT WAS FINE WITH NO CODES. THE CAR HAS JUST OVER 100 K. THE CAR WAS DEAD IN THE WATER. I HAD TO GET CAR TOWED TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP ONE MILE AWAY. DOING MORE RESEARCH ON THE TRANSMISSION AND SAW THE OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION IN THE 13 AND 14 IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE AND NISSAN KNOWS IT. THE TRANSMISSION WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT HAVE SEEN THAT NISSAN KNOWS THE TRANSMISSIONS ARE FAULTY AND HAVE HELPED PEOPLE WITH REPAIR COSTS. SO I CONTACTED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND THEY SAID I DID NOT MEET THE CRITERIA FOR WHICH THEY WOULD HELP. I ASKED WHAT WAS THE CRITERIA? FROM THE INFORMATION I GATHERED, THEY WILL NOT HELP IN REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION UNLESS YOU HAVE SPENT A BOATLOAD OF MONEY AT THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER. I HAD A FRIEND OF MINE, SAME THING HAPPENED TO TRANS, NISSAN PAID FOR 70% OF TRANSMISSION REPAIR. I LEARNED THAT HE HAD PREVIOUSLY SPENT THOUSANDS AT THE SERVICE CENTER ON OTHER REPAIRS AND HE WAS APPROVED. I ARGUED WITH NISSAN THAT I AM BEING PENALIZED FOR HAVING A CAR THAT WORKED WELL AND DID NOT HAVE A BUNCH OF REPAIRS. SO THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT NISSAN WILL HELP ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS AT THEIR SERVICE CENTERS. THEY TALKED TO ME ABOUT CUSTOMER LOYALTY. I SAID HOW CAN I BE A LOYAL CUSTOMER AFTER THIS. NISSAN HAS SOLD A BUNCH OF LIES AND CONTINUES TO LIE TO CUSTOMERS ABOUT THE TRANSMISSIONS. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SERVICE RECALL AFTER THE OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE OF THE FAULTY TRANSMISSION. NEVER NISSAN.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR TODAY AND THE CAR STARTING JERKING ALMOST LIKE STALLING ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS ALL THE TIME ON AND OFF AND HAPPENS DURING SLOWER SPEEDS OR WHEN I AM MAKING TURNS BUT YESTERDAY IT HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS AND THE CAR STARTED JUDDERING. WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR I TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN TO CHECK THIS OUT AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG BUT NOW I TOOK THE CAR AGAIN TO NISSAN AND HOPEFULLY THEY WILL FIX THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUE.
2014 N PATHFINDER 83,000 MILES- I PARKED MY CAR WHEN I RESTARTED IT 10 MIN LATER, WHITE SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM MY EXHAUST. SO MUCH SMOKE THAT I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY MECHANIC. HE SAID THAT IT'S DEFIANTLY THE ENGINE (POSSIBLE PISTON RING OR STUCK VALVES) HE SAYS HE'S HEARD OF OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. GOOGLED AND SEE MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. DEALER SAYS I'M 8,000 MILES OUT OF MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. HARD TO BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM SEEMS SO WIDE SPREAD AND ISN'T A RECALL.
DRIVING 25 MILES AN HOUR ON A TOWN ROAD ACCELERATING AND THE CAR STARTS TO SLOW DOWN EVEN IF I CONTINUE TO PUSH THE GAS PETAL. THE CAR SLOWS DOWN ALMOST COMPLETELY BEFORE I TAPPED THE BRAKES AND THEN THE CAR SHOT AND REVVED FORWARD WITHOUT TOUCHING THE GAS PETAL. ALSO THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN AFTER THE CAR IS SHUT OFF. IT DOES LILE MULTIPLY TIMES A DAY AND I KNOW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON ELECTRIC RELAY FOR STICKING, MY CAR IS HOWEVER NOT LISTED ON THE RECALL. THIS BEGAN IN MARCH AND IS MAKING IT UNSAFE TO TURN LEFT IN FEAR OF THE CAR NOT ACCLERATING DURING ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
