THE WINDOWS IN MY 2006 NISSAN QUEST ROLL DOWN AFTER THE CAR IS TURN OFF AND WE LOCK AND WALK AWAY FROM IT. IT CAN HAPPEN AT ANYTIME AND EVEN AFTER A FEW HOURS. WHEN WE COME BACK OUR VAN IS UNLOCKED AND WINDOWS ARE DOWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER A DOZEN TIME THE FIRST MONTH WE HAVE HAD IT. *TR
THE FAN UNDER THE DASH WHICH BLOWS THE AIR THROUGH THE FRONT VENTS HAS STOPPED FUNCTIONING AFTER MAKING ODD NOISES. THE FAN CONTROLLING THE AIR FLOW IN THE BACK PASSENGER SECTION WORKS CORRECTLY. *TR
FAILURE OF MICHELIN PAX TIRE ON 2006 NISSAN QUEST. *NJ THE VEHICLE HAD RUN FLAT TIRES AND DID NOT COME EQUIPPED WITH A JACK OR SPARE TIRE. MICHELIN CLAIMED THE VEHICLE COULD BE DRIVEN SAFELY FOR UP TO 25 MILES EVEN IF THE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN 2/10 OF A MILE AND THE INNER RING WAS DAMAGED. WHILE THE CONSUMERS WIFE WAS DRIVING, THE RIGHT REAR TIRE LOST AIR PRESSURE. THE CONSUMER PLACED AIR IN THE TIRE TO GET THE VEHICLE HOME. A LOCAL MICHELIN DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THEY DID NOT SERVICE RUN FLAT TIRES. THE CONSUMER THEN CONTACTED THE DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND THEY TOO STATED THEY WERE NOT EQUIPPED TO THE SERVICE THE WHEEL AND TIRE PROVIDED BY NISSAN MOTORS. THE CONSUMER WAS GIVEN ANOTHER LOCATION TO TRANSPORT THE VEHICLE TO. THE CONSUMER STATED THE TIRES WERE FLAWED. THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS NOT TOLD WITH THE MICHELIN PAX TIRE AND WHEEL SYSTEM INSTALLED, THE VEHICLE BECAME DEDICATED TO ONLY USING THE PAX WHEEL SYSTEM . *JB
DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR FALLS WHILE DRIVING BLOCKING THE VIEW OF THE ROAD IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER. *TR
THERE IS NO SENSOR ON THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR. AS MY DAUGHTER WAS MANUALLY OPENING THE DOOR, SO WAS I WITH THE KEYLESS ENTRY. THE SLIDING DOOR ENDING UP CLOSING ON MY CHILDS FINGERS, SMASHING 3 MIDDLE FINGERS. *TR
THESE COMMENTS ARE TO BE ADDED TO THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINT - 10222492. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALER ON TWO DIFFERENT TIMES; ONCE AT 8,000 MILES AND ANOTHER TIME AT 15,000 MILES. WHEN I HAD MY BRAKES REPLACED AT 24,000 MILES THEY SAID I WAS SUPPOSED TO BRING IT IN AT 10,000 MILES TO CHECK SOME "PINS" ON ALL FOUR WHEELS, THAT CONTROL THE BRAKE PADS. WHEN THEY REVIEWED THE WORK SHEETS FOR THOSE TWO TIMES, THEY WAS NO MENTION OF CHECKING THE BRAKE "PINS". A ITEM AS SERIOUS AS BRAKES SHOULD BE HIGHLIGHTED AND SHOWN ON THE SCREEN, AS ARE THE OIL CHANGES AND TIRE ROTATION. "CHECK THE BRAKE PINS" IS NOT EVEN SHOWN ON THIS SCREEN. THIS IS THE MOST SERIOUS SYSTEM OF A CAR. I FEEL THAT NISSAN SHOULD HAVE A SCREEN WARNING THAT TELLS YOU TO HAVE THESE "PINS" CHECKED. IT IS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT THERE IS A DESIGN PROBLEM WITH THEIR BRAKING SYSTEMS AND THE ONUS IS PLACED ON THE CUSTOMER TO READ THE FINE PRINT IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL TO SEE ALL THESE DETAILS. WHEN IN FACT, IT COULD BE DISPLAYED ON THE DRIVER'S INFORMATION SCREEN. I FEEL THAT NISSAN HAS BLOWN THE SAFETY OF THEIR VEHICLES. THIS IS THE COMMENT THAT I WANT ADDED TO COMPLAINT 10222492. *TR
I TOOK MY 2006 NISSAN QUEST IN TO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THEY REVIEWED FRONT BRAKES AND REAR BRAKES AND SAID THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FRONT BRAKES HAD 15% LIFE REMAINING AND THE REAR BRAKES HAD 10% OF THERE LIFE REMAINING. THE TOTAL COST WAS $626.91. THIS VAN HAD ONLY 24,199 MILES ON IT. I WROTE A LETTER TO NISSAN CUSTOMER SERIVCE. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANY THING ABOUT THIS REPAID, BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE WORN EVENLY ALL THE WAY AROUND. I TOLD THEM THAT NISSAN SHOULD TELL THEIR CUSTOMERS THAT THEIR BRAKES DO NOT LAST 25,000 MILES. THIS SHOULD BE IN THE CUSTOMERS BOOK. INSTEAD WE FIND OUT ABOUT THIS THROUGH A SIMPLE TIRE ROTATION. WE HAVE OWNED GM CARS UP TO THIS POINT AND WE HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM SUCH AS THIS. THE GM BRAKES WOULD LAST 40 TO 50000 MILES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT NISSAN HAS NOT ADDRESSED AND THEY SHOULD BE SENDING OUT A BULLETIN TO ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS ABOUT THIS BRAKE ISSUE BEFORE SOMEBODY HAS A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR MOTOR DIED IN SEPT. WAS REPLACED. LAST WEEK DOOR STARTED STICKING AGAIN AND THEN FELL OFF THE TRACK INTO THE STREET WHILE DRIVING. HAD TO BE TOWED AND TAKE A CAB HOME. DEALERSHIP TRYING TO BLAME IT ON AN ACCIDENT THAT HAPPENED BEFORE THE FIRST MOTOR WAS REPLACED. NISSAN HAS NOT GOTTEN BACK TO US YET. I HAD A 2 MONTH OLD BABY IN THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR ANY LONGER. I LIKE NISSAN, THIS IS MY 4TH CAR FROM THEM BUT I BELIEVE THE DOOR WAS NOT PROPERLY REINSTALLED. *CN
I WAS EXPERIENCING BRAKE ROTOR SHIMMY ON AN 06 QUEST. WENT TO DEALER NEAR WHERE I LIVE NOW. BOUGHT VEHICLE IN TX- NEW- . CHECKED WITH DEALER AND SAID I WANTED MY WARRANTY RIGHTS UPHELD TO REPLACE 2 FRONT ROTORS, WHICH ARE BEGINNING TO SHIMMY BADLY, CREATING A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME . DEALER SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 39 DOLLARS FOR WEST HILLS NISSAN NISSAN TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. DEALER ALSO PROCEEDED TO EXPLAIN ALL THE REASON WHY THEY MAY NOT HONOR MY WARRANTY. DEALERS FIRST QUESTION WAS DID I BUY THE VEHICLE THERE, WHICH STARTED THE 20 POSSIBILITIES SCENARIO. I LEFT THE DEALER, ANGRY AND EXPRESSED IT TO THEM. COMPLAINT FILED WITH NISSAN WHO SEEMS TO HAVE MUCH OF THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MANILLA OR INDIA, VERY POOR COMMUNICATION WITH THEM ALSO. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WHEEL KNUCKLE AND BOTH REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSORS, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,900 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 26,500.
MY QUEST WAS PURCHASED 12/06. SINCE THEN THE ODOMETER HAS MALFUNCTIONED. THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT. THE BRAKE DISC HAVE MALFUNCTIONED TWICE, EVEN AFTER NISSAN REPLACED THEM. THE RESPONSE FROM NISSAN WAS "HOTSPOTS HAPPEN NORMALLY IN DISCBRAKES". THE MOTOR MOUNTS WENT BAD AFTER 2.5 YEARS. NOW I AM FACED, AFTER A LITTLE MORE THAN 4 YEARS WITH "POWER STEERING PUMP" REPLACEMENT AND "RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A SMALL OBJECT AND PUNCTURED THE FUEL TANK. THE DEALER STATED THAT AN IDENTICAL FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE NISSAN MURANO ,AND WAS REMEDIED BY PLACING A SHIELD ON THE FUEL TANK. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, AND REPLACED THE FUEL TANK. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 3,500. *AK
NISSAN 2006 QUEST WEAK FRONT DOOR HINGES. THE VAN IS LESS THAN 1 YEAR OLD AND THE DOOR CATCHES WHEN TRYING TO EXIT VEHICLE. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY STATED THOSE ARE "LIGHT HINGES" AND THEY BEEN IN PRODUCTION SINCE 2003 AND THEY, "NISSAN", HASN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF THEM. THEY SILICONED AND GREASED DOOR HINGES AND THE RUBBER DOOR SEAL AND SAID THAT'S WHAT A PERSON NEEDS TO DO. THIS COULD BE A DANGEROUS SITUATION IN THE EVENT AND ELDERLY OR SMALL PERSON NEEDS TO EXIT VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. I HAVE TO BUMP IT PRETTY GOOD WITH MY SHOULDER TO GET THE DOOR OPEN. THE SILICONE AND GREASE WORKS FOR NOW BUT I CAN SEE HINGE PINS, LATCHING MECHANISMS, AND DOOR SEALS WEARING OUT QUICKLY. *JB
THE AUTOMATIC SIDE DOORS CLOSE WITH AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF FORCE AND AN INADEQUATE SAFETY MECHANISM. AS A GROWN ADULT THEY CAN PUSH ME OVER BEFORE THE ACTUALLY REVERSE DIRECTIONS. TODAY, MY 18 MONTH OLD SON GOT HIS THUMB CAUGHT IN THE DOOR AND IT DID NOT RELEASE. HE THUMB WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED, BUT FORTUNATELY WE THINK IT IS NOT BROKEN. I WAS JUST SHOCKED THAT A VEHICLE DESIGNED FOR FAMILY TOOK SO LITTLE CONSIDERATION WITH REGARDS TO THE OPERATION OF THE DOORS. THANK, MIKE. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WITHOUT WARNING THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT TILTED FORWARD. THE DRIVER WAS IN THE SEAT WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AND THE SEAT TILTED THREE MORE TIMES WHILE THE DRIVER WAS OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.
PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR DOES NOT OPEN AUTOMATICALLY OR MANUALLY. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING, AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHO DETERMINED THE CYLINDER HEAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THE REPLACEMENT, UPON ATTEMPTING TO START THE ENGINE, IT WOULD NOT START. THE CONTACT CHARGED THE BATTERY, AND DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THERE WAS A LOOSE BATTERY CABLE. AFTERWARDS, THERE WAS A RUBBING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE FOLLOWED BY AN ELECTRICAL ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO AWAIT FURTHER INSPECTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED. THE SECOND TIME THE INCIDENT HAPPENED, THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD A BAG HAD ATTACHED ITSELF TO THE MOTOR, BUT OFFERED NO REASON AS TO WHY THE VEHICLE WAS SHUTTING OFF. EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF, THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL SMELL. UPDATED 12/1/06. *JB
PERSISTENT LEAKING FROM PULL DOWN COAT HOOK AREA EVERY TIME IT RAINS. DEALER HAS TRIED 7 TIMES TO REMEDY WITH NO SUCCESS. *JB
A/C WAS NOT WORKING AND AIR COMPRESSOR GOT FROZEN AFTER A/C WAS TURNED ON AROUND 600 MILES. AIR COMPRESSOR AND BELL WERE REPLACED AT NISSAN DEALER. A/C IS NOW STOP WORKING AGAIN (07/03). *NM
THE PASSENGER SEAT ADVANCED AIR-BAG DOES NOT ACTIVATE WHEN I AM A PASSENGER IN OUR FAMILY VEHICLE. *JB
THE SRS AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT WAS FLASHING WHEN I PURCHASED MY 2006 NISSAN QUEST SPECIAL EDITION (APRIL 1, 2006), THE DEALER NEVER INDICATED THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM AT THE TIME OF SALE. WHEN I READ THE MANUAL AT HOME, IT INDICATED THAT A FLASHING SRS AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS A PROBLEM AND THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE SERVICED BY A DEALER TO AVOID SERIOUS INJURY. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER (NORTH TEXAS NISSAN) FOR REPAIRS TWICE AND ONCE FOR DIAGNOSTICS (BANKSTON NISSAN OF DALLAS) BUT THE PROBLEM STILL PERSIST. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA NUMEROUS TIMES REQUESTING THEM TO SEND A SPECIALIST BUT NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK WHICH I WAS TOLD WOULD BE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF MY CALLS. AFTER SENDING A LETTER TO NISSAN NORTH AMERICA REQUESTING THEM TO RE-PURCHASE THE VEHICLE PURSUANT TO TEXAS LEMON LAWS WHICH THEY RECEIVED ON MAY 12, 2006, I RECEIVED A WRITTEN REPLY THAT STATED THAT THEY ARE NOT IN A POSITION TO RE-PURCHASE MY VEHICLE AND TO CALL THEM TO SCHEDULE A TIME WHERE A SPECIALIST MAY INSPECT THE VEHICLE. I CALLED THEM AND THEY HAVE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR A SPECIALIST TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE ON JUNE 21, 2006. MY WIFE AND MY TWO TODDLERS HAVE BEEN RIDING IN AN VEHICLE WHERE THE AIRBAGS MAY GO OFF FOR NO REASON OR MAY NOT GO OFF IN AN ACCIDENT (BASED ON A STATEMENT FORM THE ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER OF BANKSTON NISSAN OF DALLAS) FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS WITH LITTLE OR NO RESPONSE FROM NISSAN NORTH AMERICA. *JB
I PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN QUEST ON MARCH 14, 2006 FROM NISSAN 112 IN MEDFORD, N.Y. AND I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT A MULTITUDE OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE DUE TO MANY DEFECTS. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE CAR SERVICED 5 TIMES IN THE FIRST MONTH AND A HALF OF OWNERSHIP AND THERE ARE STILL MANY PROBLEMS THAT HAVE NOT AND CANNOT BE RESOLVED. I WAS TOLD BY NYS SENATOR LAVALLE'S OFFICE TO CONTACT YOU. VIN [XXX]-THE CAR SMELLS LIKE ROTTEN EGGS, TRANSMISSION SLIPS, BUCK AND JERKS CAUSING DELAY OF ACCELERATION. DOES NOT ALWAYS START ON FIRST KEY TURN, RUGS IN HATCH AREA STAINED FROM MULTIPLE LEAKS. "NEW" REPLACED COMPUTER MILEAGE DOES NOT MATCH ODOMETER MILEAGE THEREFORE SERVICE SCREEN IS USELESS. DASHBOARD CHIPPED AND NOT SET CORRECTLY, CAN SEE INSIDE. RADIO DOES NOT ALWAYS DISPLAY TITLE/ARTIST AND LETTERS BECOME SKEWED/BROKEN OR STUCK. TICKING SOUND THAT COMES FROM FRONT PASS. SIDE DASH. 2006 NISSAN QUEST SE VAN ONCE A DAY DURING LONG DRIVE (10 MILES TO 80MILES) DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS MAKES ROTTEN EGG SMELL. DURING MY LAST VISIT TO ONIEL NISSAN LOCATED IN WARMINSTER, PA IN 1ST WEEK OF FEBRUARY 2006 I MENTIONED TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEIR ANSWER WAS NO PROBLEM DETECTED. LAST WEEK OF FEBRUARY 2006 I DROP MY VAN TO SAME DEALERSHIP FOR SAFETY RECALL REPAIR FOR REAR OF THE SECOND ROW SEAT AGAIN I MENTIONED ABOUT ROTTEN EGG SAMELL INSIDE VAN. I RECEIVED SAME ANSWER THAT, "NO PROBLEM WAS DETECTED". MY WIFE IS DRIVING THIS VAN SINCE I PURCHASED ON OCTOBER 1, 2005 AND SHE COMPLAIN ABOUT SMELL ON DAY FIRST. CURRENTLY MY VAN HAS @3200 MILES AND FIRST OIL CHANGE HAS PERFORMED BY SAME DEALER IN 1ST WEEK OF FEBRUARY. I HOPE DEALER OF NISSAN CO. FIX THIS PROBLEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. MARCH 2, 2006
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN QUEST. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE HE NOTICED THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL. THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR MISCLASSIFIED A SMALL STATURE ADULT AS A CHILD. AS A CONSEQUENCE IN A SITUATION THAT WARRANTS, THE PASSENGER FRONT AIR BAG MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION, BUT THE TECHNICIAN CONCLUDED THAT THE AIR BAG SYSTEM WAS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,000. UPDATED 12/09/09 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED PASSENGER AIR BAG WILL NOT SET UNTIL A WEIGHT OF APPROXIMATELY 120 LBS IS OCCUPYING THE SEAT. UPDATED 12/10/09.*JB
