I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN QUEST I BOUGHT NEW. IT HAS REAR SONAR AS ONE OF THE OPTIONS AND DUE TO THE SIZE, SHAPE AND BLIND SPOTS IT IS NEEDED. I NOTICED WITH 35000 MILES THAT THE REAR SONAR WAS INOP- SINCE I BOUGHT IT FOR MY WIFE, I WAS UNAWARE IT WAS INOP FOR A WHILE. IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE I HAVE OWNED IT FOR 37 MOS. AFTER SOME RESEARCH IT APPEARS IT IS NOT ONLY COMMON IN ALL YEARS OF THE QUEST BUT THE TITAN AS WELL. THE PROBLEM IS A DEFECTIVE AURAL BUZZER. WHEN YOU HAVE A FAULT SOMEWHERE IN THE SYSTEM THE OFF LIGHT SHOULD COME ON LETTING YOU KNOW THE SYSTEM IS OFF- HOWEVER, IT ILLUMINATES SPORADICALLY AND WHAT YOU THINK IS A WORKING SYSTEM IS REALLY NOT- I HAVE TALKED WITH PEOPLE WHO WERE UNAWARE THE SYSTEM WAS OFF UNTIL THEY BACKED INTO SOMETHING CAUSING MINIMAL BUT EXPENSIVE DAMAGE. I AM AN AIRCRAFT MECHANIC AND CANNOT SEE HOW THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THE BUZZER- WHEN BACKING UP LOOKING BEHIND YOU AND USING YOUR MIRRORS THERE IS A HUGE BLIND AREA IN THE BACK OF THE VAN THAT IS CAUSED BY THE GRADUAL INCREASE IN THE SLOPE OF THE BODY PANELS. MY CONCERN IS THAT IT IS A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT NISSAN USES A DEFECTIVE BUZZER THAT THEY KNOW WILL FAIL- IT IS A CHEAP FIX FOR THE DEALERS HOWEVER FOR THE CONSUMER IT WOULD COST UPWARDS OF 400 DOLLARS FOR A BUZZER THAT CAN BE PURCHASED AT RADIO SHACK FOR 5 DOLLARS. I REPLACED MINE WITH THE ORIGINAL NISSAN PART THAT COST 60 DOLLARS AND FIND IT OFFENSIVE THEY HAVE NOT VOLUNTARILY FIXED A PROBLEM THEY KNOW EXISTS- IT IS SAFETY RELATED AND AS SOMEONE WHO FIXES JETS FOR A MAJOR AIRLINE, SAFETY IS FIRST AND FOREMOST ALONG WITH A RELIABLE, DEPENDABLE PRODUCT. I PURCHASED NEW A 2007 NISSAN QUEST SE WITH THE MICHELIN PAX RUN-FLAT SYSTEM IN DECEMBER 2007. THIS CAR'S STICKER PRICE WAS OVER $41,000. IT NOW NEEDS NEW TIRES AT 32,000 MILES.WITH THIS SYSTEM, THERE IS ONLY ONE TIRE THAT CAN BE USED, AND VERY FEW DEALERS CARRY IT. ONLY ONE SHOP IN MY CITY CAN WORK ON THIS RIM/TIRE COMBO--THE HONDA STORE THEY REFUSE TO HELP BECAUSE THEY WORK ONLY ON HONDAS. I WAS ADVISED BY MICHELIN I NEED TO TRAVEL TO ALLIANCE, OH TO HAVE NEW TIRES INSTALLED ON MY VAN, A TRIP OF 70 MILES OR ONE HOUR. I WAS TOLD BY THIS SHOP THAT THE TIRES NEED TO BE ORDERED, THEY TAKE 5 WEEKS TO GET IN, AND THEY WOULD COST $1,550 FOR A SET OF FOUR INSTALLED. WHILE I FEEL THE PRICE IS TERRIBLE, MY REAL CONCERN IS THE 5 WEEK DELIVERY DELAY. WHAT DO I DO IF I AM 700 MILES FROM HOME AND SUFFER A BLOWOUT WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR? DO I LEAVE THE CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR AT THE REPAIR SHOP FOR 5 WEEKS WAITING FOR A TIRE TO BE SHIPPED IN? I HAVE ASKED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA TO PROVIDE 4 REGULAR RIMS, A SPARE, AND A JACK SO THAT I CAN CONVERT THE CAR BACK TO REGULAR TIRES AS I NO LONGER FEEL WAITING 5 WEEKS FOR A TIRE TO BE SHIPPED IN IS A SAFE ALTERNATIVE FOR MY FAMILY. THEY REFUSED. I THEN SENT A LETTER AND ASKED THEM TO ANSWER MY QUESTION AS TO WHAT I AM TO DO WHEN STRANDED BY A BLOWN PAX TIRE 700 MILES FROM HOME. THEY AGAIN REITERATED THEIR POSITION THAT THEY COULD NOT HELP WITH THE "REPAIRS" TO MY VEHICLE, AND THEY FAILED TO ANSWER MY QUESTION--IGNORING IT ENTIRELY. I AM CURRENTLY CONVERTING THE VAN OVER TO REGULAR TIRES AND RIMS AT MY EXPENSE, BUT I STILL WILL NOT HAVE A JACK OR SPARE TIRE/RIM. NISSAN MISREPRESENTED THIS SYSTEM WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR. THEY EXTOLLED THE VIRTUES OF SAFETY AND RELIABILITY FOR MY FAMILY. THIS IS SIMPLY UNTRUE. THIS SYSTEM IS A NIGHTMARE, AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS WHO PURCHASED WHAT AMOUNTS TO A VERY HIGH-END VEHICLE--ONE OF THEIR MOST EXPENSIVE, IN FACT. THEY NEED TO OWN UP TO THEIR MISTAKE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP BUT THE DEALER STATED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 26,000.
2007 NISSAN QUEST BRAKE/ROTOR ISSUES. BRAKES AND ROTORS ARE WEARING RAPIDLY AT VERY LOW MILES. IT HAPPENED AT 45,000 MILES AND AGAIN EVERY YEAR SINCE. EVEN AFTER HAVING BRAKES AND ROTORS RESURFACED A FEW TIMES. CONTINUING PROBLEM. DEALER THINKS MAY BE DRIVING HABITS, BUT DEVICE PLACED ON CAR TO TRACK DRIVING BEHAVIOR BY INSURANCE COMPANY SHOWS NO HARD BRAKING. POSSIBILITY THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS SIMILAR ROTOR/BRAKE PROBLEM DUE TO WEIGHT OF VEHICLE OR IMPROPER COOLING LIKE TITAN TRUCK DID EARLY ON. A REAR END COLLISION MY WIFE HAD IN LATE 2009 MAY HAVE BEEN RELATED TO THE THIS PROBLEM. SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVE SAME TYPE OF PROBLEM ON INTERNET VEHICLE PROBLEM SITES. *TR
WAS COMING UP TO A TRAFFIC LIGHT GOING APPROXIMATELY 45 DOWN TO 0 PER MILES AN HOUR AND WAS SLOWING DOWN AND HAD FOOT ON BRAKE AND THE THE ACCELERATOR WAS STILL ENGAGED AND HAD TO PUT MY 2007 NISSAN QUEST TO NEUTRAL THEN INTO PARK IN ORDER TO STOP VEHICLE. THE NEXT DAY WE TOOK TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY CHECKED EVERYTHING BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THEREFOR NOTHING WAS DONE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE.
DURING COLD WEATHER THE BACK, SLIDING, DOORS FREEZE SHUT. IT TAKES A VERY LONG TIME FOR THEM TO "DEFROST" AND BE OPENED. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE A SMALL CHILD IN A CARSEAT AND I NEED TO CLIMB THROUGH TO THE BACK SEATS FROM THE FRONT TO BUCKLE THEM IN. LASTLY, WHEN THE DOORS DO FINALLY THAW THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT COMES ON AND I NEED TO PULL OVER AND OPEN/CLOSE IT. *TR
I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE ELECTRICAL IN MY VAN. THE AIR CONDITIONING HAS BEEN ON WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN WHEN I START THE CAR THE NEXT TIME IT WON'T BE ON. BUT IF I TURN IT OFF IT STARTS BLOWING. ALSO, THE RADIO WILL QUIT WHENEVER IT DECIDES TO. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD LISTENING TO THE RADIO AND IT WILL MAKE A LOUD POP AND THEN A HIGH PITCHED SOUND UNTIL I TURN THE RADIO OFF. IT WON'T WORK AGAIN UNTIL THE CAR HAS BEEN TURNED OFF A WHILE THEN RESTARTED. I WILL LOOSE ALL THE SETTINGS ON MY RADIO. I AM WORRIED THAT IF THERE IT TROUBLE WITH THAT STUFF WHAT ELSE MIGHT STOP. I HAVE OWNED THE CAR SINCE 2008/9(NOT SURE). THE AIR WAS THE PROBLEM THE FIRST. ABOUT THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF THE RADIO HAS BEEN STOPPING MORE AND MORE. I DON'T WANT THE OTHER ELECTRICAL THINGS TO START ACTING UP. IF THE LIGHTS START GOING I WON'T BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE THING. I AM WANTING TO KNOW IF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS COMPLAINT???? PLEASE HELP
WHILE BRAKING, ESPECIALLY WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS: ' A STEERING WHEEL SHAKE, ' BODY VIBRATION ' BRAKE PEDAL PULSATIONS . *TR
I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN QUEST. I HAVE NOTICED A HUMMING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I GET REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND ASKED THE SERVICE TECH TO SEE IF HE COULD ALSO HEAR THE NOISE. HE SAID THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS COMING FROM MY TIMING CHAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN. I WAS QUOTED $3300 TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. I ALSO TOOK MY VEHICLE TO ANOTHER AUTO SHOP AND TWO LI MASTER TECHNICIANS WERE IN COMPLETE DISBELIEF THAT THIS WAS INDEED THE PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF NISSAN KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE THEN WHY IS IT THAT I WILL NOW HAVE TO PUT $3300 INTO A VEHICLE THAT I STILL OWE $15,000 ON AND IF I TRADE IT IN I WILL HAVE ABOUT $5,000 IN NEGATIVE EQUITY? I BOUGHT A NISSAN BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD LAST ME A LONG TIME. AFTER WE PAID IT OFF WE WERE PLANNING ON PURCHASING A NISSAN TITAN BUT PROBABLY NOT NOW. I AM SADDENED AND DISAPPOINTED THAT MY CAR IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND IT'S PARKED UNTIL I CAN AFFORD THE REPAIR. *TR
I OWN A NISSAN QUEST WITH THE MICHELIN PAX RUN-FLAT TIRE SYSTEM. THE PAX RUN-FLAT TIRE SYSTEM IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. I PURCHASED THE CAR IN NOVEMBER 2007. BY 13 MONTHS, AT 18,000 MILES, 2 OF THE TIRES HAD WORN TO THE POINT WHERE THE DEALER SAID THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AT 20,600 MILES WE HAD ALL 4 TIRES REPLACED. IN 32NDS OF AN INCH, SEARS MEASURED THE TREAD AT : LEFT FRONT - 1,0,0, RIGHT FRONT - 2,2,1, RIGHT REAR - 3,3,4, LEFT REAR WAS SIMILAR TO RIGHT REAR BUT HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED DUE TO A NAIL IN IT. MICHELIN HAD TO COURIER A COMPLETE TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY TO MY HOME ON THE NAILED TIRE BECAUSE THERE IS NO TIRE DEALER WITHIN 20 MILES OF US IN DOWNTOWN CHICAGO THAT CAN WORK ON THE PAX TIRES OTHER THAN PERHAPS A HONDA DEALER WHO TOLD US THEY WOULD NOT WORK ON A NISSAN. OUR NISSAN DEALER IS NOT EQUIPPED TO WORK ON THIS TIRE. OUR SITUATION IS NOT UNIQUE. A WEB SEARCH TURNS UP MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT PREMATURE WEAR AND BLOWOUTS WITH THE PAX TIRE SYSTEM. THERE ARE 2 CLASS-ACTION LAWSUITS RELATED TO THE PAX SYSTEM, ONE AGAINST HONDA AND MICHELIN AND ONE AGAINST NISSAN AND MICHELIN. WITH THE WHEELS ON OUR NEW CAR WE CAN ONLY HAVE PAX TIRES SO EITHER WE NEED TO SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE WHEELS, POTENTIALLY VOIDING OUR WARRANTY, OR CONTINUE TO REPLACE OUR TIRES EVERY 20,000 MILES, ASSUMING WE CAN GET THEM. IT TOOK A WEEK TO HAVE REPLACEMENT TIRES SHIPPED TO CHICAGO. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THAT THE PROBLEM WILL GET WORSE THE LONGER WE OWN THE CAR. MICHELIN HAS END OF LIFE THE PRODUCT AND ONLY MANUFACTURES NEW PAX TIRES FOR THOSE ALREADY ON THE ROAD. THIS DECLARATION WAS MADE BY MICHELIN A MERE 4 MONTHS AFTER WE PURCHASED OUR CAR NEW. THE MICHELIN PAX TIRE SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE RECALLED FOR HONDA ODYSSEY AND NISSAN QUEST VEHICLES FOR PREMATURE WEAR, DANGER OF BLOWOUTS AND LACK OF PEOPLE THAT CAN SERVICE THEM. NISSAN AND HONDA NEED TO BE FORCED TO REPLACE THE PAX WHEELS WITH WHEELS THAT CAN ACCEPT NORMAL TIRES. *TR
THERE IS A RATTLING NOISE SOMEWHERE IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE (APPARENTLY IN THE WHEELS). ALSO, I NOTICED SOME VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE SEEM TO BE SOME ELECTRIC FAILURE AS SOMETIMES THE A/C DON'T WORK (WHEN THAT HAPPENS YOU HAVE TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND THEN TURN IT ON AGAIN FOR IT TO WORK). *TR
I'VE BEEN IGNORING THIS PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. NOW IT IS COMPLETELY DEAD. THE PROBLEM WAS, EVERYTIME I TRIED TO CLOSE THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW, IT AUTOMATICALLY REOPENED ABOUT 6INCHES DOWN BY ITSELF. IN ORDER TO CLOSE IT COMPLETELY, I HAVE HOLD UP THE SWITCH FOR ABOUT 30SEC. TO 1MIN. I WONDER IF ANYBODY ELSE HAS THIS ISSUE. IF IT IS, IS IT STILL COVERS UNDER MANUFACTURING WARRANTY. *TR
OUR VEHICLE 2007 NISSAN QUEST WAS PURCHASED NEW. IT HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES. WE ARE ALREADY REPLACING BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. WE HAVE HAD SOME ELECTRICAL ISSUES RECENTLY WITH THE WINDOWS NOT ALWAYS WORKING. THE BATTERY HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 30,000 MILES. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN QUEST. THE VEHICLE HAS MICHELIN PAX (NA) TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RUN FLAT TIRE FLATTENED. RUN FLAT MEANS THAT THE TIRE CAN BE DRIVEN FLAT FOR 125 MILES; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DROVE 300 MILES. HE CALLED THE NISSAN MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO POCA, WV TO A MICHELIN REPAIR SHOP. THE SHOP HAS HAD THE VEHICLE FOR MORE THAN 35 DAYS AND HE DOES NOT KNOW WHEN IT CAN BE RETRIEVED. THE SHOP DOES NOT HAVE THE TIRES AND THE LINER THAT ARE NEEDED TO REPAIR THE TIRE. THE TIRE SIZE AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN; HOWEVER, HE PROVIDED THE FOLLOWING NUMBERS: 225-700R48OA, MXV4. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,400. UPDATED 3/5/09 *CN THE TIRE WAS LOOSING 3-4 POUNDS OF A AIR A WEEK. THE DEALER PLUGGED THE TIRE, HOWEVER THE CONSUMER LEARNED THAT THE PARTICULAR TIRE HE HAS COULD NOT BE PLUGGED. IT HAD TO BE REMOVED FROM THE RIM AND REPAIRED FROM THE INSIDE, REBALANCED AND REMOUNTED. UPDATED 03/10/09. *JB
I BOUGHT MY 2007 NISSAN QUEST IN APRIL 2008 WITH ONLY 26 MILES ON IT. I NOTICED WITHIN A COUPLE MONTHS THAT WHEN GOING OVER 30 MILES AN HOUR THE BRAKES DID NOT ENGAGE RIGHT AWAY AND I HAD TO PUMP THEM ONCE OR TWICE TO GET THEM TO WORK MUCH LIKE MY 20 YEAR OLD CAR WHEN I WAS A TEEN. IN SEPT 08 I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN DRIVING 35 MILES AN HOUR WITH A GOOD 5-6 CAR LENGTHS AWAY WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SUDDENLY STOPPED AND I COULD NOT STOP. THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO PUMP THE BRAKES AND WHEN I PUSHED HARD ON THE BRAKE IT WENT MUSH ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I ENDED UP HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME HITTING MY HEAD AND GETTING A CONCUSSION. I WAS OUT OF WORK FOR 2 WEEKS, HAD OVER $6,000 DAMAGE TO MY VAN AND OVER $4,000 DAMAGE TO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHO THEN HIT THE VAN IN FRONT OF IT AND CAUSED $3,000 DAMAGE TO IT. IN TOTAL 4 PEOPLE WERE INJURED I WAS INJURED THE WORST AND SPENT THE NIGHT IN THE HOSPITAL. WHEN THE BODY SHOP SENT MY VAN OVER TO THE NISSAN DEALER TO CHECK THE BRAKES THEY SAID THEY RESET THE ABS AND THEY SEEMED FINE. I TALKED TO THEM AND ASKED WHERE THEY TESTED THE BRAKES THEIR ANSWER WAS IN THEIR PARKING LOT AND AROUND THE BLOCK. I ASKED THEM TO DRIVE WITH ME OVER 35 MILES, THEY REFUSED AND SAID THE BRAKES WERE FINE. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE 10+ CAR LENGTHS BEHIND EVERYONE TO MAKE SURE I HAVE TIME TO PUMP THE SOFT BRAKES. IF I HAD THE MONEY TO EAT THE COST OF BUYING A NEW VAN WHEN I STILL OWE SO MUCH ON THIS ONE I WOULD BE DOING IT NOW. *TR
2007 NISSAN QUEST SE SPEEDOMETER FAILURE. REALIZED WHILE DRIVING THAT A NUMBER OF PEOPLE WERE "TAILGATING" ME WHILE I THOUGHT I WAS DRIVING SPEED LIMIT. I AM DRIVING 15 MPH SLOWER THAN WHAT THE SPEEDOMETER SHOWS. HAS 59,138 MILES. NO WARRANTY. HAD TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT DEALERSHIP CALLED INTERNAL FAILURE. *TR
PREMATURE TIRE WEAR ON NISSAN QUEST 2007 VAN EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN PAX RUN FLAT TIRES AT 18,500 MILES. *TR
MY 2007 NISSAN QUEST REAR DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS DEFECTIVE AND NOT SHUTTING PROPERLY. IT IS OVER TRAVELING AND HITTING THE B PILLAR METAL ON METAL AND NOW IS RUSTING OUT. I DO NOT FEEL IT IS SAFE AND HAVE BROUGHT IT TO TWO DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALERS. THEY STATE THE DOOR IS WITH IN NISSANS SPECIFICATIONS BUT WHEN I ASK FOR THE DETAILS OF SAID SPECIFICATIONS ON THE DOOR THEY STATE THERE IS NOT ONE. I HAVE CALLED 1800NISSAN1 AND ASKED FOR A SPECIFICATION BUT THEY CAN NOT PROVIDE ONE EITHER. I NEED THE DEFECTIVE DOOR CORRECTED AS THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND I WILL NOT LET MY FAMILY RIDE IN THE VEHICLE UNTIL THIS IS REPAIRED OR PROVEN TO BE WITH IN SPECIFICATION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE OWNS A 2007 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AUTOMATIC AND MANUAL SLIDING DOORS WILL NOT OPEN OR SHUT SOMETIMES ON COLD DAYS. WHEN THE DOORS DO OPEN, THEY WILL JUST STAY PROPPED OPEN FROM THE BACK. ONCE THE VEHICLE WARMS UP, THE DOORS WILL OPEN AND SHUT PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER APPROXIMATELY FOUR TIMES, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,503 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,162.
VEHICLE WILL BOTTOM OUT BECAUSE OF POOR DESIGN UTILIZING THE MICHELIN PAX TIRE CAUSING SCRAPING OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. INCREASING THE LEVEL OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM BURNS A HOLE IN THE EXHAUST PIPE THAT THEN HAS TO BE REPLACED WHICH AGAIN CAUSES A BOTTOMING OUT AND SCRAPING OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM.. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING DOWN A 6% DOWNGRADE ON A FREEWAY IN MY 2007 NISSAN QUEST. AT THE TIME (JAN 2008), THE VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 15,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS CONTINUOUSLY BRAKING TO KEEP THE VEHICLE AT A SAFE SPEED. AS I WAS BRAKING, THE BRAKES BEGAN TO PULSATE. THE PULSATIONS GOT LOUDER AND MORE AGGRESSIVE AS WE CONTINUED DOWN THE DOWNGRADE, TO THE POINT LIKE IF FELT THE BRAKES WERE ABOUT TO FAIL. SOON AFTER, IN JANUARY 2008, I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN BELLEVUE, WA. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER BRAKE ROTOR WAS WARPED. THEY RESURFACED THE ROTOR. AT 9 MONTHS LATER, AND AT 25,000 MILES (OCT 2008), THE PULSATIONS STARTED TO REOCCUR. I BROUGHT THE VAN TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP, AND THIS TIME THEY REPLACED THE SAME ROTOR THEY RESURFACED 9 MONTHS EARLIER. AGAIN AT 35,000 MILES IN JULY 2009, THE PULSATION PROBLEM RETURNED AGAIN. I BROUGHT IT TO UNITED NISSAN IN LAS VEGAS, BUT THEY REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM, CITING NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE BRAKES. FINALLY, IN OCTOBER 2009, I BROUGHT THE BRAKES TO A BRAKE SPECIALIST. THE SPECIALIST STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER BRAKE, THE SAME BRAKE THAT HAD CONTINUOUS ROTOR WARPING, WAS DEFECTIVE DUE TO A FAULTY BRAKE PIN CAUSING STICKING BETWEEN THE CALIPER AND PAD, WHICH WAS THE ROOT CAUSE OF ALL THE WARPING AND PULSATIONS. *TR
2ND ROW DRIVER SIDE SEAT HAS NOW HAD THE RECLINE LEVER BROKEN TWICE. BOTH TIMES I TRIED TO LAY THE SEAT DOWN FLAT SO THAT I CAN UTILIZE THE CARGO AREA AND BOTH TIMES THE PLASTIC LEVER MOVED UP IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION BUT THE SEAT WOULDN'T RECLINE. THE FIRST TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED THE SEAT BACK WAS ALREADY FOLDED AND I HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER SO THAT I COULD USE THE SEAT FOR PASSENGERS. THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED THE SEAT WAS OPEN ALREADY AND I ATTEMPTED TO FOLD IT FOR CARGO USAGE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN QUEST. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ADJUST THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT, HER FINGERS MET EXPOSED METAL. AS A RESULT, SHE SUSTAINED CUTS TO HER FINGERS. AS OF OCTOBER 22, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 3,000.
THE STATED MPG FOR MY 2007 NISSAN QUEST ON THE WINDOW STICKER SHOWS 18 - 24 MILES PER GALLON YET AFTER 10 MONTHS THE VAN ONLY GETS 17.6 MILES PER GALLON AND THAT IS DURING MOSTLY HIGHWAY DRIVING. WHEN QUESTIONING THIS A DEALERSHIP AFTER WAITING A FEW MONTHS TO SEE IF ANY IMPROVEMENT WE WHERE ADVISED BY THE SALESMEN WHAT DID WE EXPECT FOR A V6 LSRGE VEHICLE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CAN BE ALLOWED TO SHOW HIGHER MPG ON A WINDOW STICKER THEN WHAT THE VEHICLE ACTUAL GETS. *TR
THE WINDSHIELD GOT BROKEN TWICE IN NOT MORE THAN A WEEK AFTER THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FIRST CRACKED CRISTAL. THE CAUSE WAS THE SAME. AN SMALL ROCK HIT THE RIGHT END OF THE CRISTAL CAUSING A CRACK. THE SAD THING IS THAT THE HIT WAS ALMOST UNPERCEIVABLE IN BOTH CASES. I WILL CONTACT THE DEALER TO INVESTIGATE IF THE WINDSHIELD IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO SUPPORT SMALL ROCK HITS. *TR
ON JUNE 23,2007 MY NEW 2007 NISSAN QUEST SPONTANEOUSLY CAUGHT FIRE WHILE PARKED IN MY GARAGE, TURNED OFF, KEYS NOT EVEN IN THE IGNITION. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO GET THE FIRE OUT BUT NOT BEFORE MY QUEST AND MY GARAGE SUSTAINED DAMAGE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAD PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, NEW, AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS "SO WHY ARE YOU CALLING US?". I THEN CALLED THE NISSAN COMPANY WHO AGREED TO DO AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE CAUSE. THEIR CONCLUSION WAS THAT IT STARTED IN THE WIRING TO THE TOW HITCH, WHICH WAS ON THEIR WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND AN ACCESSORY THEY OFFER ON THEIR WEBSITE. THEY THEN CLAIMED THAT THE TOW HITCH WAS NOT PUT ON IN THE FACTORY AND THEREFORE IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM AND WOULD NOT ASSIST ME ANY FURTHER. THEY DID TELL ME THAT THEY HAD ALREADY SPOKEN WITH THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND THAT THEY WERE ALSO CLAIMING THEY DID NOT INSTALL THE HITCH. I EXPLAINED THAT IT WAS ON THERE WHEN I GOT IT SO SOMEONE HAD TO INSTALL IT. THEY AGAIN SAID IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. I HAVE MADE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP AND NO ONE WILL TAKE MY CALLS NOR RETURN MY MESSAGES. SO I AM STUCK WITH A BURNED UP VAN, RENTAL BILLS, GARAGE REPAIR BILLS AND EVERYONE POINTING THEIR FINGER AT THE OTHER SAYING IT IS NOT MY FAULT. I HAVE INSURANCE ON THE VAN OF COURSE AND COULD JUST SIMPLY HAVE IT FIXED AND PUT IT BACK ON THE ROAD BUT THAT DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM OF WHATEVER DID IN FACT START THE FIRE (THEIR CONCLUSION WAS CERTAINLY CONVENIENT FOR THEM IN THAT IT WAS THE ONE THING NOT INSTALLED IN THE FACTORY) AND SO I WOULD JUST BE PUTTING A POTENTIALLY UNSAFE VEHICLE BACK ON THE ROAD. *TR
ON THIS DATE OUR 2007 NISSAN QUEST VAN, WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT SURGED TO OVER 3500 RPMS (THIS IS AN ESTIMATE BECAUSE I DID LOOK AT THE RPMS UNTIL AFTER THE PEAK OF REVVING). I STOOD ON THE BRAKES AND KEPT THE VAN FROM MOVING INTO THE INTERSECTION, THEN SHOVED IT INTO NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE CAME BACK TO NORMAL RPM RANGE. ON 2/9/07 I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND THE VAN ONCE AGAIN SURGED, THIS TIME I NOTED IT WENT OVER 5000 RPMS. I JAMMED ON THE BRAKES AND KEPT IT FROM MOVING INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC. I SHOVED IT INTO NEUTRAL AGAIN AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT, THE RPMS RETURNED TO NORMAL RANGE. I MADE THE DEALERSHIP AWARE OF BOTH INCIDENTS AND HAD IT INTO SERVICE BOTH TIMES. THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG AND MADE NO REPAIRS. WE THEN CALLED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LODGED A COMPLAINT. A FACTORY TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE VAN ON 3/19/07. HE FOUND NOTHING WRONG, MADE NO REPAIRS AND DECLARED THAT THE VAN WAS FINE. WE WILL NOT DRIVE THE VAN AND MY WIFE WHO IS DISABLED, IS LEFT WITHOUT THE USE OF HER MOTORIZED WHEELCHAIR. WE BOUGHT THE VAN FOR THE EXPRESS PURPOSE OF USING IT TO TRANSPORT HER CHAIR. WE HAVE BEEN WITHOUT OUR VAN FOR OVER 2 AND 1/2 MONTHS AS OF TODAY'S DATE, 3/31/07. FOREIGN MATERIAL HAS ENTERED THROUGH THE COWL PANEL AIR INTAKE DURING OPERATION OF THE FRONT HEATER AND/OR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, RESULTING IN A BUILD-UP OF MATERIAL IN THE PLENUM. THIS HAS LEAD TO NOISE AND STRAIN ON THE AIR CONDITIONING FAN. I AM CONCERNED IT COULD LEAD TO IGNITION OF THESE MATERIALS. *AK
