WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT TWO HOURS. WHEN CLIMBING A HILL THE VEHICLE REFUSED TO ACCELERATE EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. WENT FROM 75 MPH TO 35 MPH. WOULD NOT GO OVER 2000 RPM. WE HAD RECENTLY BEEN USING THE CRUISE CONTROL BUT WEREN'T WHEN THIS HAPPENED. NO ENGINE LIGHTS OR PROBLEM INDICATORS CAME ON. WE PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND OPENED THE HOOD BUT NOTHING APPEARED TO BE WRONG OR OVERHEATING. WE WAITED 10 MINUTES AND CONTINUED ON THE HIGHWAY. EVERYTHING WAS FINE AFTER THAT, BUT WE DIDN'T GO UP ANYMORE HILLS. MILEAGE AT 100000
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE GEAR SHIFTER LOCKED AND WOULD NOT UNLOCK TO MOVE TO A DIFFERENT GEAR EVEN WHEN BRAKE WAS COMPRESSED. DEALERSHIP SAID IT NEEDED AN ENTIRELY NEW SHIFTER ASSEMBLY.
2010 NISSAN ROGUE. CONSUMER WRITES SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR DAMAGES AFTER CAR CAUGHT FIRE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED BOTH THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER SENT AN INSPECTOR FOR THE VEHICLE. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS OFFERED. *JS
VEHICLE LOSES POWER TO DASH, STEERING AND PROPULSION DURING OPERATION ON DRIVING.
WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN AND THE CAR ONCE OVER 80 MPH, STOP ACCELERATING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY IN MAJOR TRAFFIC AND DECREASED TO 20 MPH AND STARTING SHAKING AGAIN AND STOPPED. THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AND I WAS ALMOST PLOWED BY A SEMI. I CALLED NISSAN BEFORE BECAUSE THIS SAME THING HAPPENED LAST JULY 2018, AND THERE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINTS BY OTHERS. THEY ADVISED I NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO NISSAN AND THEY MIGHT ASSIST WITH WHATEVER COULD BE WRONG, BUT THEY MADE IT SEEM AS IF IT WAS NOTHING. ONCE AGAIN THERE WAS NO POWER COMING THROUGH THE CAR, NO SENSOR LIGHTS CAME ON, THE CAR SMELLED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO CATCH FIRE AND IT WOULD ONLY EXCEL AND NOT MOVE BEFORE IT CUT OFF. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET IT PUSHED OVER ON THE MAIN HIGHWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PINION NUT BECAME LOOSE AND THE DRIVESHAFT DETACHED FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH. THE CONTACT COULD NOT STEER AND HAD TO STOP THE VEHICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO STRAUB NISSAN (205 STRAUB DR, TRIADELPHIA, WV 26059, (304) 233-2222). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE PINION NUT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
AFTER PURCHASED USED THE LIGHT FOR THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT WOULD NOT GO OFF. FINALLY GOT THAT FIXED. THEN HAD TO REPLACE FRONT STRUTS. NO CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE FROM STOP WITHOUT PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN AND IT IS DELAYED, SAME FOR IN REVERSE.
THE COMPUTER IS CORRUPTED AND COULD BE POSSIBLY HACKED, SYSTEM SENSORS ALL BEEN REPLACED EXCEPT AMBIENT AIR PRESSURE. CODES FOR O2 SENSORS AND MAP COME IN WHILE CATALYST CONVERTER IS STILL GOOD. HACKING OF THE COMPUTER COULD TAKE PLACE THROUGH THAT OF THE XM RADIO PART FOR A PATHWAY OF SUCH.
FUEL LEVEL SENSOR ERROR WHICH CAUSES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. AFTER CAREFUL RESEARCH THIS IS KNOWN ISSUE EFFECTING THOUSANDS OF NISSANS. THE PART BECOMES FAULTY AFTER 40K MILES AND NISSAN IS AWARE. THE ISSUE IS SO BAD THAT THE CAR CAN STOP IN THE MIDLE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE IT THINKS IT RAN OUT OF GAS.
THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING TO RUN OFF THE ROAD.
I PARKED THE CAR ON FRIDAY EVENING ON STREET, CAUGHT FIRE ON SUNDAY MORNING, NEIGHBORHOOD CALLED FIREFIGHTERS AND FIREFIGHTERS DID THEIR JOB BUT I DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT. MY HOUSE WAS COUPLE OF BLOCKS AWAY. I SAW MY BURNED CAR ON MONDAY AFTERNOON. BURNED STEERING WHEEL AREA, BRAKE AREA AND DASHBOARD. I COLLECTED FIRE INCIDENTS REPORT FROM FDNY AND IT MENTIONED HEAT SOURCE WAS ELECTRICAL ARCING AND OTHER. I HAD TO MOVE THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS ON THE STREET.
ONE WEEK AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, I TOOK IT ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 75 MPH. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR THE SPEED SLOWED TO 65, THEN 60, THEN 50 ETC., EVEN THO THE GAS PEDAL IS TO THE FLOOR. CRUISE CONTROL ALSO HAD NO EFFECT. I HAD TO PULL OVER IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, I GOT BACK ON THE ROAD AND UP TO SPEED AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED NOW 3 TIMES IN 2 DAYS.. SO OBVIOUSLY I DON'T FEEL SAFE TAKING IT ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. FROM WHAT I GATHER, THIS IS A TRANSMISSION COOLING ISSUE AND IS REMEDIED BY INSTALLING A $1200 EXTERNAL COOLING UNIT OF SOME SORT THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF BUT WON'T ADDRESS(?) I AM NOT HAPPY.
BOUGHT 2010 NISSAN ROGUE, FOUND OUT THE GAS GAUGE IS READING FULL ALL THE TIME. WE HAVE TO WORRY ABOUGHT KEEPING TRACK OF MILEAGE. WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES WITH THIS PROBLEM
MY CAR LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. I COULD BE DRIVING AT 65MPH THEN IT JUST SLOWS TO ABOUT 35MPH FOR NO REASON AND MAKES A WHINING NOISE. IF I AM AT A STOP SIGN, I WILL HIT THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR WONT GO ANYWHERE. I'M SCARED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN NOW OR CROSS AN INTERSECTION BECAUSE I'M NOT SURE IF MY CAR WILL GO ANYWHERE. I'VE NEARLY BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES. NISSAN IS NOT COOPERATING WITH ME. I'VE ALREADY REPLACED THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, PAID FOR A DIAGNOSIS WHICH THEY NOW SAY IS THE 'BRAKE SWITCH." I'M TIRED OF DUMPING MONEY INTO THIS AND NOT HAVING IT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. NISSAN CLAIMS THAT NO ONE ELSE HAS A PROBLEM LIKE THIS.
125000 MILES AND THE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED. I WAS OM MY WAY TO THE STORE AND IT STARTED GRINDING AND WAS DONE.
I WAS IN MOTION ON THE FREEWAY. I HEARD A LOUD POP THEN A METAL TO METAL SOUND. I WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHO STATED THE SUBFRAME IS DAMAGED AND BUSHINGS. ONLINE SEARCHES SHOWED ME OTHER MODELS OF NISSAN WERE RECALLED FOR THIS. MINE DID NOT SHOW UP ON THE RECALL LIST BUT IT PROBABLY SHOULD. HOW DOES THIS JUST HAPPEN? I DON'T FEEL SAFE. I HAVE CHILDREN TO KEEP SAFE. THE ELECTRICAL PART IS THAT MY VEHICLE HESITATES TO NEARLY A STALL, ESPECIALLY IN IDLE AT SAY STOPLIGHTS. I ALSO HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT DUE TO A DEFECT WITH YOUR TRANSMISSION. MY WINDSHIELD WIPER SPRAY DOES NOT WORK AND I WAS TOLD A PART WOULD BE COMING IN FOR ME FROM JAPAN. IT'S NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PART. I GOT A LEMON. I CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP UP ON MAINTAINING WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A RELIABLE CAR.
I CAN'T DRIVE IF I DON'T PUSH THE VDC OFF SWITCH ,THEN THE SLIP LIGHT COME ON ,OTHER WAYS THE VEHICLE MAKE SOME NOISE IT'S LIKE THE BRAKES IS BEEN APPLIED ALSO THERE IS HORN NO SOUND AND CRUISE CONTROL DOESN'T WORK
I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM BECAUSE THERE WERE WINNING NOISES COMING FROM THE LEFT SIDE IN THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION COMPARTMENT. IN ADDITION TO CUT AND UNSEALED WIRES UNDER THE DASH AND IN THE FUSE BOX, AS WELL AS A STUCK CALIPER (THAT THEY REPLACED FOR MY CONVENIENCE ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER). THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DEALER FOR A TOTAL OF 2 WEEKS IN THE 1 MONTH I HAVE OWN THE CAR AND THEY HAVE ONLY FIXED THE CALIPER. MY CONCERN WITH THE CUT AND UNSEALED WIRES IS THAT LIGHTS (PARKING BRAKE AND BATTERY) IN THE DASH TURN ON WHILE I AM DRIVING AND IT HAS TURNED OFF ON ME WHEN COMING TO A STOP. IT HAPPENED TO MY WIFE (WITH MY NEWBORN IN THE CAR) WHEN SHE WAS DRIVING THE CAR IN THE HIGHWAY, SHE CAME TO A STOP BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC AND THE CAR TURNED OFF ON HER CREATING AN UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR BOTH MY NEWBORN AND CHILD. THE RESPONSE FROM THE DEALER WAS "WE ARE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE, THE COMPUTER DOESN'T SHOW ANY CODES" YET IT HAPPENS TO ME FREQUENTLY.
WHEN ACCELERATING INTO TRAFFIC, AFTER A DEAD STOP IN AN INTERSECTION WAITING TO TURN, OR WHEN CHANGING LANES THE CAR WOULD JUST STOP ACCELERATING. IT WOULD NOT MOVE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THREE TIMES TRAFFIC HAD TO SLOW TO WAIT FOR MY CAR TO MOVE. NISSAN DEALER SERVICE SAID IT WAS BRAKE SWITCH FAILURE. WHEN REPLACED THE PROBLEM STOPPED.
TAKING A SHORT DAY TRIP, ABOUT A 2 AND A HALF HOUR DRIVE, MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING ABOUT AN HOUR IN. GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. ON THE WAY BACK HOME IT WAS WORSE WE HAD TO STOP ALMOST EVERY 10-20 MILES TO LET THE CAR REST. I JUST HAD THIS TRANSMISSION REPLACED ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I WOULD STOP TO MAYBE COOL DOWN THE TRANSMISSION FOR ABOUT 15-30 MINUTES, THEN IT ACTS LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. IT ALSO HAS A WHINING NOISE LIKE SOMETHING IS WINDING UP.

THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MODERN NISSAN OF LAKE NORMAN (18615 STATESVILLE RD, CORNELIUS, NC 28031) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
DRIVING ON I-76 ON CRUISE CONTROL AT 75 MPH WHEN VEHICLE STARTS TO RUN RPMS IN EXCESS OF 4K WHILE LOSING ACCELERATION. PULL OVER AND TURN OFF VEHICLE. CHECK UNDER THE HOOD, SLIGHT BURNING SMELL. WAIT ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES, TURN VEHICLE ON, WON'T ACCELERATE AT ALL. WAIT SOME MORE, DRIVES FOR A LITTLE WHILE, THEN HIGH ACCELERATION WITH LOSS OF SPEED AGAIN, THIS TIME NEVER GOING OVER 60 MPH. I'M LUCKY I WAS NOT REAR ENDED ON THE INTERSTATE AND KILLED WITH MY TWO YEAR OLD SON.
AFTER DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY WITH MY NISSAN ROUGE 2010, WITH CONTINUOUS SPEED OF 55 TO 60 MPH FOR ABOUT HALF HOUR, AND THEN CAME TO A FULL STOP, DUE TO TRAFFIC CONGESTIONS, THE CAR WON'T RUN OR ACCELARATE, EVEN IF I PUSH THE (GAS) PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I HAVE TO TURN OFF, AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE TO GET IT GOING AGAIN. IT HAPPENED MANY TIMES DURING WARM OR HOT WEATHER. IN WINTER, IT SEEMS TO BE FINE. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, BUT THEY CHARGED ME, EVEN THEY HAVE NOT FOUND OR FIX ANY ISSUES.
I GOT MECHANIC CHECK AIRBAG CODE B1018 OCCUPANT SENSOR
TRANSMISSION DISPLAY SYMPTOMS OF FAILURE WHILE GOING 65 MILES AN HOUR ON A HIGHWAY WITH MY CHILDREN AND ULTIMATELY STALLED OUT.
PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR NEED TO BE REPLACED. AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHES. DETERMINATION WAS DONE AT AN ELECTRICAL AUTO REPAIR SHOP.
THE INCIDENT HAPPENED ON MARCH 15, 2018. I WAS SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT ON A CITY STREET AND THE SIDE 'CURTAIN' AIRBAGS WENT OFF ON BOTH SIDES FOR NO REASON. NO ONE ELSE WAS AROUND...NOTHING FELL ON THE CAR. THE CAR WASN'T DAMAGED IN ANY WAY EXCEPT THE AIRBAGS. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY A FEW BLOCKS FROM HOME - SO I DROVE IT HOME. I WAS NOT PHYSICALLY INJURED. THE CAR SITS IN MY DRIVEWAY AS I WAIT FOR A DECISION FROM NISSAN AS TO WHETHER IT WAS THEIR FAULT OR NOT. (I DO NOT KNOW WHO'S FAULT IT IS...ARE THESE TAMARA AIRBAGS? I DO NOT KNOW. I DO KNOW, HOWEVER, THAT IT IS NOT MY FAULT!). MY INSPECTION IS SET FOR APRIL 5, 2018. I AM HAVING IT TOWED TO THE INSPECTION SITE BECAUSE I AM SCARED TO EVEN SIT IN THE SEAT. I DO NOT HAVE ANY PAPERWORK PERTAINING TO THIS INCIDENT AS OF TODAY - MARCH 26, 2018 *TT
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND NOTICED HEAVY SMOKE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BY THE HEADLIGHTS. I PULLED OVER AND FIRE STARTED SHOOTING UP. I WAS TOLD 'IT'S ELECTRICAL AND NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FRONT END THAT WAS BEING WORKED ON' WHICH WAS 4 DAYS PRIOR. ALSO I WAS TOLD THERE'S NO RECALL ON THAT PARTICULAR AREA.
DRIVE SHAFT BROKE AND TOOK OUT SHIFT GEAR CABLE.. CAR WAS IN MOTION AND JUST STOPPED DEAD IN MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. UPON CALLING NISSAN TO INQUIRE COST OF DRIVE SHAFT THEY REPLIED " WE HAVE THEM IN STOCK BECAUSE THIS IS VERY COMMON, HAPPENS ALL THE TIME"
THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS BLINKING AND IS ON ALL THE TIME IT NOT GOING OFF
TAKATA RECALL. I TOOK MY NISSAN ROGUE IN FOR INSPECTION ON NOV. 30, 2017. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE REJECTED FOR THE AIRBAG LIGHT. I THEN TOOK IT TO NISSAN TO HAVE THEM TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE $250 TO TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY THAT WOULD BE I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC THAT DOES MY SERVICE AND HE SAID THAT IT WAS THE PASSENGER OCCUPANCY SENSOR. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT NISSAN HAD STATED TO THEM THAT IT WAS ON RECALL. I WAS A LITTLE CONFUSED SINCE THAT WAS NEVER STATED TO ME WHEN I WAS THERE. SO I RETURNED TO NISSAN AND THEN WAS TOLD NO SORRY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A RECALLED ITEM ON MILLIONS OF VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, IT WAS NOT ON MY VEHICLES. IT WOULD BE $2300 JUST FOR THE PART TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT WAS BEING TOLD TO ME. I CONTACTED THE NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPT. AND WAS TOLD AFTER SEVERAL CALLS THAT SINCE I DIDN'T HAVE A WARRANTY ANY LONGER THAT THE "RECALLED ITEM" WOULD NOT BE COVERED. I AM TRULY CONFUSED IT A KNOWN ITEM IS RECALLED ON MILLIONS OF VEHICLES I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW IT IS NOT ON MY VEHICLE. I KNOW IF AN ITEM IS RECALLED AND KNOWN TO BE FAULTY HOW CAN THEY SAY IF YOU DON'T HAVE A WARRANTY WE CAN'T REPAIR IT UNLESS YOU PAY ABOUT $3000. PLEASE HELP ME TO GET THIS RESOLVED. I HAVE SPOKE TO SEVERAL PERSONS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND I REALLY NEED YOU TO HELP WITH THIS. THIS IS TRULY A SAFETY ISSUE AND I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW NISSAN CAN JUST DISREGARD THIS. WHILE DRIVING MY WIFES 2010 NISSAN ROGUE SL FWD IS SHOWED 62 MILES LEFT BEFORE EMPTY ON THE FUEL GAUGE. THE CAR DIED ON A WINDING BACK COUNTRY ROAD WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF SOMEONE WERE TO COME OVER A BLIND HILL AND HIT US. THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING, I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. GOT THE CAR STOPPED AND HAD TO CALL THE POLICE TO COME OUT AND FLAG DOWN ON-COMING TRAFFIC THAT WE WERE STOPPED AHEAD. THE CAR WOULD TURN OVER BUT NOT START, ACTING AS IF IT WERE OUT OF GAS EVEN THOUGHT THE FUEL GAUGE SAID 60 MILES TO EMPTY. HAD TO GET A RIDE TO GET FUEL AND CAR STARTED RIGHT UP. THIS OBVIOUSLY SHOWS THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT OR GAUGE IS NOT CALIBRATED PROPERLY AND CAUSED A WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS OR DEADLY SITUATION. APPARENTLY THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NISSAN ROGUES AS WELL AS OTHER MODELS BUT NO RECALL OR TSB HAS BEEN ISSUED.
MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS FLASHING DURING STATIONARY WITHOUT ANY CAR ACCIDENTS. THE DEALER SAID THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG IS FAILED .
I PUT MY CAR IN PARK. LEFT THE CAR RUNNING. GOT OUT TO REMOVE GARBAGE CAN BLOCKING DRIVEWAY. LOOKED UP AND CAR WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS. IT WAS STOPPED BY A TREE.
VEHICLE WAS AT 109500 MILES, OIL CHANGE 6 MONTHS PRIOR AND DUE FOR OIL CHANGE AT 110000 MILES. NO IRREGULAR NOISES AND NO WARNING LIGHTS. WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND ON HIGHWAY FOR FIVE MORE MINUTES. NOTICED BURNING SMELL IN CITY BUT WAS BEHIND A TRUCK AND DISMISSED IT AS THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF PROBLEMS IN MY CAR. ABOUT FIVE MINUTES LATER, ON I-90 EB IN MT BAKER TUNNEL, NOTICED FLAMES COMING OUT OF THE FRONT LEFT HOOD. PULLED OVER AND CALLED 911. WSDOT RESPONDED TO INCIDENT, AND GEICO DEEMED CAR A TOTAL LOSS. NISSAN SENT INSPECTOR WHO SAID THEY DID NOT FIND MANUFACTURER DEFECT. GEICO INSPECTOR SAID THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE DUE TO EXTENT OF DAMAGE.
THE STEERING COLUMN COIL FAILED, CAUSING AIR BAG TO BECOME FAULTY AND POWER STEERING TO FAIL. ABILITY OF THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING. THEN, AFTER "REPAIRING" THE STEERING COLUMN COIL, THE POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE DRIVING AND MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO REPAIR THIS RELATED ISSUE. THESE ISSUES IMPACT ABILITY OF DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY, ABILITY TO TURN AND STEER.

FAULTY GAS GAUGE. CAR STALLED OUT AT QUARTER TANK. BROKE DOWN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO SAFE MODE AND INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE USUALLY OCCURRED AFTER TWO HOURS OF CONTINUOUS DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER FREE OF CHARGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,324.
THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING TO LEXINGTON FROM CHARLESTON AND ABOUT ONE HOUR AND 1/2 THE CAR WOULDN'T GO ANY FASTER AND THEN IT STARTED DROPPING SPEED PRETTY FAST , IT DROPPED ALL THE WAY TO 35 MPH, I HAD MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR WITH ME SHE WAS SCARED TO DEATH SOMEONE WAS GOING TO HIT US, I PULLED ONTO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND SAT FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES STARTED IT BACK UP AND KEPT MY SPEED ABOUT 65MPH, AND IT WAS OKAY. IT JUST HAPPENED THIS WEEKEND WHEN I WAS DRIVING FROM CHARLESTON TO CHARLOTTE, ABOUT 45 MINUTES AWAY THE CAR WOULDNT GO ANY FASTER AND IT STARTED DROPPING SPEED FAST, HAD THE PETAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES POPPED THE HOOD IT WAS NOT RUNNING HOT. I THEN PULLED OFF AGAIN TO TRY TO GET TO A GAS STATION AND IT STARTED UP AND THEN ABOUT 2 MINUTES PASSED AND IT WOULDNT GO ANY FASTER, PULLED OFF ON THE EXIT AND BARLEY MADE IT TO THE GAS STATION, THIS TIME I LET IT SIT FOR A GOOD 30 MINUTES OR SO. I THEN GOT BACK ON THE HWY BUT WOULDN'T GO OVER 65MPH AND IT WAS OKAY. THIS IS KNOWN ISSUE AND IT SEEMS LIKE NISSAN IS AWARE BUT THEY ARE DOING NOTHING TO FIX IT.. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO WARNING NO LIGHT COMES ON AND YOU JUST START DROPPING SPEED FAST, SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR KILLED THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY!!!
AFTER APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS OF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE TRANSMISSION GOES INTO "LIMP" MODE. NISSAN STATES THIS IS THE RESULT OF THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING AND THE ONLY SOLUTION IS INSTALLING A NEW NISSAN EXTERNAL COOLER. CAR WILL BARELY REACH 55-60 MPH ESPECIALLY IF GOING UP HILL. ALSO, ONCE THE CAR IS STOPPED IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE QUICKLY. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED IT GAVE NO WARNING AND IT ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE ACCELERATOR NOT RESPONDING WHEN MY ATTEMPTING TO TURN ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WITH SERIOUS INJURIES OR WORSE IF NOT ADDRESSED. THERE WAS NO WARNING THE TRANSMISSION HAD OVERHEATED AND GONE INTO THIS MODE. THE FIRST SIGN WAS THE CAR SIMPLY FAILING TO ACCELERATE WITH THE GAS PEDAL DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR. MULTIPLE TIMES THE CAR HAS JUST SUDDENLY DECELERATED IN HEAVY HIGHWAY TRAFFIC FROM 75 MPH TO 55 MPH AFTER ONLY 1.5-2 HOURS OF HIGHWAY DRIVING. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SIGNIFICANT DEFECT THAT IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. ALSO IT APPEARS THAT THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR A EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME WITH LITTLE TO NO EFFORT FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE.
I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE AND THE SHIFT LEVER WOULD NOT MOVE. THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET MY VEHICLE OUT OF PARK IS TO USE THE SHIFT LOCK WITH THE KEY, MOVE THE LEVER TO NEUTRAL. THEN I AM ABLE TO START MY VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN GEAR.
ON THE HIGHWAY GOING AN A 1.5 HOUR TRIP THE 2008-2010 ROUGE TRANSMISSION WILL OVER HEAT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO "LIMP" MODE WITH NO WARNING WHICH MEANS IT HAS NO POWER. NISSAN SENT OUT A SERVICE BULLETIN TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENTS IN SEPTEMBER 2016 ACKNOWLEDGING THEIR IS A DEFECT AND THE FIX IS AN EXTERNAL COOLER BUT THEY REFUSE TO FIX MY CAR. IF A FAMILY OF 4 IS IN THE CAR AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR THE VEHICLE COULD GO INTO "LIMP" MODE AND WHEN THEY TRY TO PULL BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY THEY COULD LOSE POWER RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND GET STRUCK BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND BE KILLED. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED TO 50, THEN 35, THEN 20 MPH. FORTUNATELY, WE WERE NEAR THE EXIT AND WERE ABLE TO LEAVE THE HWY. AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE VEHICLE AND WAITING A FEW MINUTES, THE VEHICLE PERFORMED NORMALLY. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IN ONE YEAR OF OWNERSHIP THIS HAS HAPPENED.
MY 2010 NISSAN ROGUE WILL NOT ACCELERATE WHEN GOING UPHILL ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN FLOORING THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR WILL SLOW DOWN FROM 70 TO 60 TO 50 TO 40 MPH ON A UPHILL (THERE WERE ONLY THREE PASSENGERS INCLUDING DRIVER). THE CAR TRANSMISSION WILL EVENTUALLY STOP WORKING UNTIL THE CAR COOLS DOWN. TOOK CAR TO A NISSAN SERVICE CENTER AND WAS REPAIRED UNDER NISSAN'S CVT 10 YEARS/120K MILES WARRANTY REFERENCING TSB NTB14-002E. THE VALVE BODY WAS REMOVED/REPLACED AND AN EXTERNAL COOLER WAS INSTALLED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE.
CVT TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED DUE TO THE FOLLOWING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS 1. HOT WEATHER (92 F) 2. A LONG DRIVE (OVER 3 HOURS) 3. DRIVING UP HIGHWAY MOUNTAINS IN VIRGINIA. FAIL SAFE ACTIVATED CAUSING THE CAR COMPUTER CPU TO DRASTICALLY CUT POWER TO THE WHEELS. THIS CAUSED A LACK OF POWER SUCH THAT I COULD NOT ACCELERATE UP THE HILL IN EXCESS OF 45 MPH. THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE HILL WAS 70 MPH. EIGHTEEN WHEEL TRUCKS WERE IMMEDIATELY BEHIND MY ROGUE FORCING ME TO PULL ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER ALLOWING THEM TO GO PAST. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER WHO CONFIRMED FROM EXAMINATION OF THE CAR CPU THAT THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED AND THAT AN OVERHEAT CODE WAS FOUND IN THE CPU. THEY ALSO CONFIRMED THAT THE FAIL SAFE WAS ACTIVATED THAT CAUSED THE SEVERE POWER LOSS. THE NISSAN DEALER KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS FROM MY DESCRIPTION. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND EVEN EXTENDED MY TRANSMISSION CVT WARRANTY FROM 6YR/60,000 MILES TO 10YR/120,000 MILES. HOWEVER, THEIR SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM IS TO INSTALL AN AUXILIARY CVT TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLER AT AN EXPENSE TO ME OF $1225. MY DEALER CHECKED WITH NISSAN AND SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE EXPENSE EVEN THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION IN MY CAR IS STILL ON WARRANTY. IN CONCLUSION, NISSAN IS INSTALLING CVT TRANSMISSIONS IN SEVERAL OF THEIR MODEL CARS WITH A KNOWN OVERHEATING ISSUE AND REQUIRES THEIR CUSTOMERS TO INSTALL A TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLER AT THE CUSTOMERS EXPENSE. THE DRAMATIC LOSS OF POWER IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. IN MY CASE I HAD TO SPEED UP TO GET UP THE HILLS AS MY SPEED DROPPED FROM 80MPH DOWN TO 45MPH FINALLY PULLING ONTO THE SHOULDER.

I ALMOST GOT HIT BY A BIG TRUCK BECAUSE OF IT STALLING DOWN. I'VE TAKEN IT TO MULTIPLE SHOPS AND NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS
THIS STARTED HAPPENING RIGHT AFTER THE LAST RECALL FEB 2016. WAS GOING AT 65 MPH LITTLE UPHILL (FROM 1200 FEET TO 2200 FEET) THEN THE SPEED STARTED DROPPING FROM 65MPH TO LESS THAN 30MPH ON A BUSY CALIFORNIA I-15 FREEWAY. I HAD TO PULL THE CAR FROM THE FAR LEFT LANE (5 LANES EACH WAY) TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER WHERE I STOPPED FOR ABOUT 35 MINUTES THEN STARTED THE CAR AGAIN. IT HAPPENED AT LEAST 4 TIMES SINCE THEY MESSED UP MY CAR IN THE LAST RECALL. OTHER ISSUE I EXPERIENCED WAS WHEN I STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND TRIED TO MOVE, IT BARELY MOVED THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT JUMPED, IT WAS VERY RISKY. I HAD TO PULL TO A PARKING LOT (THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES)

NISSAN DEALERS OH BOY THEY DON'T KNOW WHATS GOING ON, I THINK THEY R JUST PRETENDING. IF ANYBODY IS BUYING NISSAN, THINK TWICE IF YOU WANNA RISK UR LIFE.
