I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, TRAVELING IN THE THIRD LANE AT 65 MPH, WHEN THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON. I MADE MY WAY TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE AND THE CLUNKING NOISE FROM A FLAT TIRE WAS OBVIOUS. THE TIRE HAD BLOWN OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SIDEWALL FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I HAD NOT HIT ANYTHING OR GONE INTO A POTHOLE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW 6 MONTHS AGO, AND IT HAD THE ORIGINAL TIRES THAT WERE PUT ON IT IN THE FACTORY. THE CAR CAME WITH CONTINENTAL P215/70R16 TIRES. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER WHO CALLED CONTINENTAL AND NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP NOR THE TIRE MANUFACTURER ACCEPTS ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECTIVE TIRE. I HAVE DONE A GOOGLE SEARCH AND MY STORY OF HAVING A BLOW OUT WITH A CONTINENTAL TIRE ON A NEW CAR WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE IS NOT AN UNUSUAL ONE. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING NOW, AND WORRY THAT I WILL HAVE BLOW OUTS WITH THE OTHER THREE TIRES. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY CONTINENTAL IS GETTING AWAY WITH MANUFACTURING UNSAFE TIRES WHEN THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. IT SEEMS THIS IS A CONSUMER ISSUE AND A SAFETY ISSUE THAT WARRANTS INVESTIGATION. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW IN NOV 2011. THERE WAS NO SNOW THAT WINTER. THIS YEAR WAS A NORMAL WINTER. I COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW DANGEROUS IT WAS TO DRIVE IN THE SNOW WITH THIS VEHICLE. ON THE DATE OF THE INCIDENT I LOST CONTROL IN SNOW AND ICE AND NEARLY CRASHED. THE "ALL WHEEL DRIVE" DID NOTHING AT ALL TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I CONTACTED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FILED A COMPLAINT (#10800081). THEY DO NOT RETURN CALLS AND DID NOT ATTEMPT TO HELP RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I DISCOVERED THAT NISSAN INSTALLED A HIGH PERFORMANCE SPORT "V" RATED TIRE ON THIS LIGHT 4 CYLINDER CROSS OVER. WHEN I CONTACTED DUNLOP THEY DID NOT HESITATE TO ADVISE THAT I REPLACE THE TIRES WITH A GOODYEAR ASSURANCE COMFORTRED TOURING TIRE FOR MAXIMUM WET, DRY AND SNOW CONDITIONS. I FEEL THESE TIRES(DUNLOP HIGH PERFORMANCE SP SPORT 7000 A/S SIZE 225/55/18) ON THIS VEHICLE IN NEW ENGLAND STATES POSE AN EXTREME HAZARD AND DANGER TO OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE AND NISSAN SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR A RECALL.
HEATING / AC FAN SUDDENLY STARTED MAKING LOUD NOISES WHEN FAN WAS TURNED ON. THIS IS ON A VEHICLE LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD. LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP MECHANIC INVESTIGATES THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM, DISCOVERS THE FAN AREA HAS LEAVES AND DEBRIS IN IT THAT WAS CAUSING THE NOISE. NISSAN REFUSES TO COVER THE DEBRIS REMOVAL UNDER THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY, LEAVING OWNERS ON THE HOOK FOR HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS OF LABOR TO ADDRESS A DESIGN DEFECT. A BRIEF INTERNET SEARCH REVEALED OTHER ROGUE OWNERS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEM. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, THE DEBRIS CLOGS UP AT A POINT BEHIND THE DASH THAT IS ALL BUT IMPOSSIBLE FOR AN OWNER TO REACH HIMSELF. SO WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU ARE PRETTY MUCH GUARANTEED AN EXPENSIVE LABOR BILL FROM THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. EITHER THAT, OR GO WITHOUT HEATING OR A/C. I HAD TO PAY MY DEALERSHIP $85 IN LABOR TO PULL A HANDFUL OF LEAVES OUT OF A VEHICLE THAT IS BASICALLY BRAND NEW. IF NISSAN REFUSES TO DESIGN A CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM THAT WON'T FREQUENTLY CLOG UP WITH DEBRIS, THEY SHOULD AT LEAST COVER THE LABOR FOR DEBRIS REMOVAL UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. *TR
THE VEHICLE WAS AT A CROSS STREET WAITING FOR THE LIGHTS TO CHANGE, THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ON AND THE RADIO AND OTHER ACCESSORIES WERE NOT IN USE, WHEN THE SUV STALLED SHORTLY. IT WAS NOTICED THAT THIS ONLY OCCURS WHILE THE AIR CONDITIONER IS ON AND THE VEHICLE IS AT A STOP IN DRIVE OR L MODES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. AFTER THE THIRD TECHNICIAN, IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT SMELLED AN UNKNOWN ODOR COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT HAD EXPERIENCED THE FRONT WIND SHIELD CRACKING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD ABNORMALLY TRAVEL TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED A SECOND TIME, BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE BOOSTER WAS ALSO REPLACED WITH NO RESOLUTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A FINAL INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED, IN WHICH THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. THERE WERE NO FURTHER REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13,266...UPDATED 07-29-13 *BF
AFTER A PANIC STOP WHICH ACTIVATES THE ABS SYSTEM, THIS VEHICLE IS UNRESPONSIVE TO THROTTLE INPUT FOR AN EXCESSIVE PERIOD OF TIME (10 SECONDS OR MORE). THIS HAS BEEN DEMONSTRATED TO THE DEALER AND A NEW, SIMILAR VEHICLE SHOWED THE SAME PERFORMANCE. THE DEALER INDICATES IT MUST BE INHERENT WITH THE VEHICLE, NO FIX IS AVAILABLE FROM NISSAN. THIS UNRESPONSIVENESS AFTER A PANIC STOP IS UN-SAFE. *TR
CVT TRANSMISSION HAS NEVER WORKED CORRECTLY. IT FINALLY FAILED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.NISSAN PUT MY FAMILY IN HARMS WAY..NISSAN REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND FIX UNDER WARRANTY A LONG SANDING PROBLEM WITH THESE CVT'S. I WAS ON A HIGHWAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, TRAVELLING 5 MPH IN A BRAND NEW NISSAN CAR THAT I HAD RECENTLY LEASED. I HAD TO STOP AND GO SEVERAL TIMES. DURING THIS TIME MY BRAKES FAILED SPORADICALLY. EACH TIME IT STOPPED ONLY AFTER HITTING THE TRUCK AHEAD. I WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALER. IT THEN TOOK ME TWO WEEKS TO GET TO SPEAK TO AN APPROPRIATE PERSON. HE WAS PART OF NISSAN'S ARBITRATION DEPARTMENT. HE SAID HE HIMSELF WOULD FEEL UNSAFE TO DRIVE THIS CAR, AND THAT HIS WIFE WOULD DEFINITELY NOT LET HIM DRIVE IT, EVEN IF NISSAN FAILED TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEREFORE, IF NISSAN CAN?T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, I NEED TO KEEP THE SAME CAR. I HAVE READ REPORTS ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE THAT EVEN AFTER CARS WITH SIMILAR BRAKE PROBLEMS WERE REPAIRED, THE SAME PROBLEM RECURRED. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT THE MILEAGE ON THE CAR WAS 3200. *TR
ACCELERATION PROBLEMS, WHEN STEPPING ON GAS VEHICLE CRAWLS AND WHINING NOISE FROM ENGINE SOUNDING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. HAD IT LOOKED AT WHEN NEW WITH CLUNKING NOISE FROM ENGINE AT DEALER. THEY SAID THEY NOT SEEN ANY PROBLEMS WITH ROGUES AND CLAIMED A ROAD TEST WAS DONE AND NO NOISES WERE HEARD FROM TECHS. NOISES HAVE CONTINUED AND NOW HAVING SEVERE PROBLEMS ACCELERATING TO EVEN 30MPH. PROBLEM SEEMS TO COME AND GO QUITE FREQUENTLY, MOST OCCURRENCES HAPPEN AFTER A LONG ROAD TRIP. VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY, INCLUDING TRANSMISSION FLUIDS AND OIL CHANGES AS RECOMMENDED. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO WHERE DEALERS CLAIM NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLES. DOES A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH HAVE TO HAPPEN TO FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGE SEVERAL PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20.
ORIGINALLY THE CAR WOULD HESITATE, BOG,ONLY WHILE TURNING OR SLIGHTLY ROLLING. ADDITIONALLY NOW IT HESITATES FROM A DEAD STOP. SOMETIMES IT HESITATES,GOES,THEN HESITATES AGAIN. IT IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM BUT IT OCCURS WHILE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR TURNING THROUGH A LIGHT. I'M AFRAID THE CAR WILL STALL AND I'LL BE HIT BROADSIDE OR FROM BEHIND. THE DEALER HAS LOOKED AT THE CAR 4 TIMES AND SAYS IT'S THE WAY THE CVT TRANSMISSION WORKS. THE CAR DID NOT DO THIS DURING THE FIRST 2000 MILES. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 50 YEARS AND NEVER HAD A CAR OPERATE SO DANGEROUSLY. I AM IN A LEASE AND NISSAN WILL NOT TAKE THE CAR BACK. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO FIND A FAILURE. THE DRIVER SEAT WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELTS DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE SEAT BELT WAS TIGHTENED AS A TEMPORARY REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO SENT AN ENGINEER TO EVALUATE THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINEER STATED THAT A CRUSH WASHER WAS MISSING FROM THE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY AND AS A RESULT, BOTH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
WHEN U PUT GAS ON THERE IS A VIBRATION AND ALSO I HAVE INSTALLED ROTORS AND BRAKES TWICE 60,000 MILES ONLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE MADE A SUDDEN MOVEMENT AND PULLED WHEN THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE CONTACT CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD AND NOTICED THERE WAS A LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY REPLACING THE ABS PUMP AND BLEEDING THE BRAKES. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,950. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,988. UPDATED 7/23/12 *CN
THE MOONROOF DOESN'T OPEN ALL THE WAY & THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT ALL ROGUES DO THAT. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR THAT I PICKED UP ONLY A FEW DAYS AGO & THE MOONROOF OPENS MAYBE A LITTLE MORE THAN HALFWAY. THIS CAN'T BE RIGHT. *TR
