TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED INSPECTION AND UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ACME NISSAN (2050 US-130, MONMOUTH JUNCTION, NJ 08852, (732) 821-9300) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT FAILED INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE OXYGEN SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED INSPECTION AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,761. *DT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS NEEDED. THE CONTACT LATER TOWED THE VEHICLE TO SUBURBAN NISSAN OF TROY (1800 MAPLELAWN DR, TROY, MI 48084, (248) 649--2300) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
A MONTH AGO I WAS HAVING ACCELERATION ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE. I WAS AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND COULD NOT MAKE THE LEFT TURN BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL MY VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAD IT TOWED. I BROUGHT IT TO NISSAN AND PAID ALMOST $5K FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. (2ND TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT IN THE LAST 3 YEARS). A MONTH LATER HAVING SAME ACCELERATION ISSUE, NISSAN A WEEK LATER SAID I NEEDED A FUEL PUMP. DROVE HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP AFTER PAYING ANOTHER $915 AND MY VEHICLE IS GIVING OFF A BURNING SMELL, MAKING HORRIBLE NOISE WHICH WASN'T PRESENT PREVIOUSLY AND STRUGGLING TO DRIVE.
TRANSMISSION FAILED WITH ONLY 54K MILES ON ON JULY 20TH WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I COULD NOT GO ANY FASTER THAN 40MPH AND HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MY AIR CONDITIONING ALSO STOPPED WORKING IN 90 DEGREE WEATHER.
MY VEHICLE CAN NEVER ACCELERATE 70+ MPH FOR MORE THAN 45 MINS AT A TIME, ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WILL SLOWLY START TO DECELERATE TO NO MORE THAN 40MPH. I'LL HAVE TO PULL OVER FOR ABOUT 10 MINS AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF.
THE CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000 MILES. TOOK INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE BECAUSE OF ROUGH IDLING, LOSS OF ACCELERATION AND A WHINING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING. DEALERSHIP CAME BACK AND SAID TRANSMISSION WAS BAD. DISCOVERED THAT CVT FAILURE IN 2013 NISSAN ROGUE IS COMMON AND A KNOWN ISSUE. RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR SOME MODELS BUT NOT ALL EVEN THOUGH MANY OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEMS.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 70-75 MPH with cruise control activated, the vehicle inadvertently downshifted and decelerated to 50-55 MPH. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle would not exceed 50-55 MPH. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated he veered to the side of the road and he turned off the vehicle. The contact stated he restarted the vehicle. The accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle still failed to exceed 50-55 MPH. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed as the OBD reader could not read the codes. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring and the vehicle was jerking while driving. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist due to the age and mileage of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.
I JUST TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR IT'S NORMAL MAINTENANCE (OIL CHANGE/FILTERS, ETC.) TODAY - 7/12/19. ALL IS IN GOOD CONDITION, EXCEPT I ASKED NISSAN TO LOOK AT THE FLASHING AIRBAG LIGHT THAT STARTED ABOUT A WEEK AGO FOR NO APPARENT REASON (O/A 7/5/19). THEY TOLD ME THAT MY FRONT AIR BAG SENSOR IS NOT WORKING, AND THAT IT IS NOT COVERED AND WOULD COST ME APX $1,020 TO FIX. THIS IS AN APPARENT SAFETY ISSUE, AND I DID NOTHING TO MY VEHICLE FOR THIS KIND OF THING TO STOP WORKING. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND AM VERY RELIANT ON MY CAR TO GET TO AND FROM WORK, ETC. I BELIEVE, DUE TO THE SAFETY ASPECT ALONE, THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL NOTICE AND FIXED. IF YOU COULD PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS, IT WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, MY CAR LOST ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SPEED UP, EVEN WHEN I PRESS THE GAS TO THE FLOOR. THE ENGINE JUST REVS UP. I WAS GOING UP A HILL IN A BUSY SECTION OF TOWN AND WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT AS THE PERSON BEHIND ME DID NOT REALIZE I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
CAR WILL STOP ACCELERATING WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY FOR OVER AN HOUR. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES NOW. IT ONLY HAD ABOUT 50,000 MILES ON IT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. SEVERAL INDEPENDENT BODY SHOPS COULD NOT DETECT THE PROBLEM. IN VIEWING OTHER COMPLAINTS, SOUNDS LIKE IT'S THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL 2013 NISSAN ROGUES FOR THIS PROBLEM!
WHEN DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE GOING 65 - 70 MPH AFTER 1 HR DRIVING CAR SUDDENLY STOOPED ACCELERATING. I PULLED OFF ON AN EXIT AND REACHED A STOP LIGHT. WHEN I PUSHED ON GAS PEDAL THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE RIGHT AWAY. HAPPENED AT TWO SETS OF LIGHTS. SHUT THE CAR OFF FOR 20 MINUTES AND STARTED DRIVING AGAIN AND IT SEEMED OK. DRIVING OK SHORT DISTANCES WHILE I WAS IN MAINE. ON MY WAY HOME TO MASSACHUSETTS AFTER 1 HR OF DRIVING ON INTERSTATE GOING 60 - 70 MPH AGAIN I LOST ACCELERATION. HAD TO PULL OVER AND SIT ANOTHER 20 MINUTES. I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE MY DRIVE AFTER SITTING AND LETTING IT COOL DOWN.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY US-90 COMING HOME FROM NEW ORLEANS TO GULFPORT. MY CARS CRUISE CONTROL HAD STOPPED WORKING 45 MINTUES TO AN HOUR AFTER I GOT ONTO US-49 MY CHECK LIGHT CAME ON I PRESSED MY ACCELERATE PEDTAL TO THE FLOOR AN THE ONLY THING IT DID WAS RAISE MY RPMS TO ALMOST 6. ME AN MY CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT WERE ALMOST HIT IN THE REAR BY AN 18 WHEELER BECAUSE MY VEHICLE HAD TROUBLE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN I GOT BACK TO GULFPORT MS I STOP AT A AUTO-ZONE AN THEY PUT IT ON THE DIGITAL DEVICE AN 3-4 CODES CAME UP THE TURQUE CONVERTER WAS BAD IN MY CAR. I KNOW FROM READING ON THE INTERNET BULLETINS THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AN HASNT DONE ANYTING ABOUT IT.
TAKATA RECALL. THIS WOULD BE MY SECOND TIME CHANGING THIS TRANSMISSION. FIRST TIME WAS WHEN MY CAR DIDN'T WANNA ACCELERATE AND GOT STUCK ON 40 MPH INSTEAD OF 70 MILES PER HOUR. MY NISSAN AT THE TIME HAD ONLY 50,000 MILES. MY NISSAN RIGHT NOW HAS OVER 150,000 AND THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AGAIN. DID A TRANSMISSION FLUSH AND NOTHING. I'VE ALSO NOTICE NOW WHEN THE WEATHER IS OVER 96 DEGREES THE TRANSMISSION ACTS UP BY STALLING ON 40 MPH WHILE DRIVING. EVEN MY AC COMPRESSION ALSO TAKES A HIGH EFFECT AS WELL. IF IT'S NOT ONE, IT'S THE OTHER.
LOSS ACCELERATION AND MY CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS PROPERLY
2013 NISSAN ROGUE, 100,000 MILES. I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE SOUTH DOWN THE INTERSTATE FROM CHARLESTON TO ORLANDO, ~70 MPH, DRIVING NORMALLY IN JUNE 2019. AROUND THE GA/FL BORDER, WHEN I WOULD HIT THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE, THE SPEDOMETER WOULDN'T GO HIGHER. THE ENGINE WOULD REV, AND THE RPMS WOULD INCREASE TO 3-4,000. HAPPENED FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES UNTIL I GOT TO AN OFF-RAMP. AFTER THE CAR COOLED DOWN FOR 45 MINUTES, WE GOT BACK ON THE ROAD SINCE IT WAS A SUNDAY NIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE GA, KINGSTON TO BE EXACT. IT DROVE WELL FOR THE REST OF THE DRIVE DOWN TO ORLANDO WITH STOPS EVERY HOUR. SAME THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY UP FROM ORLANDO TO CHARLOTTE, RPMS WENT UP, SPEDOMETER DIDN'T MOVE. LET THE CAR COOL AND THEN IT DROVE FINE AT LOWER SPEEDS. TOOK IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHEN I GOT BACK AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE TRANSMISSION AS HAVING A FAULTY TORQUE CONVERTER, P0744 WAS THE CODE THAT CAME BACK. 12 HOURS OF LABOR, SAYING THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. FOUND THE SERVICE BULLETIN: NTB16-090, AND IT SEEMS LIKE IT'S SPOT ON, HAPPENED AFTER PROLONGED DRIVING IN HIGH TEMPERATURES. AFTER READING THE BULLETIN, IT CONNECTS THE DOTS FOR WHY MY ENGINE WOULD SOUND WEIRD WHEN I WAS DRIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS, THE ENGINE WOULD START TO SOUND REALLY TRYING AFTER SOME TIME. SAW THAT A NUMBER OF NISSAN VEHICLES HAVE BEEN RECALLED DUE TO FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSIONS, AND I DON'T KNOW WHY NISSAN 2013 ROGUES HAVE NOT BEEN RECALLED YET.
MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING AND WILL ONLY ACCELERATE TO TWENTY MILES PER HOUR DOING THIS TIME. TODAY 06/17/2019 IS THE FOURTH EPISODE. THE FIRST THREE HAPPEN WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL DRIVING UPHILL. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND AFTER 15 MINUTES OR SO IT WAS DRIVABLE. HOWEVER TODAY IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON A NORMAL FLAT FREEWAY SURFACE WHILE IN THE HOV LANE. TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT OR THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ISSUE. MY WIFE AND GRANDDAUGHTER WERE IN THE CARE WITH ME. FROM MY RESEARCH, MANY OWNERS OR HAVING OR HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2013 NISSAN WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION. REQUEST SOMEONE CHECKS AND REQUIRE NISSAN TO FIX THE PROBLEM(S).
AT 60 TO 70 MPH RPM INCREASES TO 6,000 THEN CAR SLOW'S DOWN AND STOPS . THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY PEOPLE . THIS CAR SHOULD BE OFF THE ROAD NOW. DO YOUR JOB!
A MONTH AFTER BUYING THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE SHAKING AND JITTERING AND WHINING NOISES. THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL THAT IT'S THE NEW STYLE TRANSMISSION. NOW 140K MILES LATER. I'M ONN A TRIP WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 75 I NOTICED I WAS SLOWING DOWN IT SLOWED TO 60 WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN THE MIDDLE OF FAST MOVING TRAFFIC. TURNED CRUISE CONTROL OFF AND ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE. ONCE I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL IT DID NOTHING. RPMS DIDNT GO UP MPH DIDNT GO UP. IT WAS LIKE IT JUST SHUT OFF. I GOT TO THE NEXT EXIT PULLED OFF ON SIDE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON. IT WAS FINE ABOUT AN HOUR LATER IT DID THE SAME THING SO STOPPED AT A GAS STATION CHECKED FLUIDS EVERYTHING NORMAL. GOT BACK ON THE INTERSTATE IT WAS NORMAL AGAIN. MADE IT TO OUR DESTINATION AND VEHICLE SEEMED FINE THE NEXT 2 DAYS BUT WE NEVER NEEDED TO DRIVE OVER 55. ON THE TRIP HOME IT STARTED AGAIN ABOUT AN HOUR IN. SO WE STOPPED ATE AND GOT BACK ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS TIME WE KEPT THE SPEED UNDER 65 THE ENTIRE TRIP HOME AND IT WAS FINE. BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET IT CHECKED OUT TO FIND OUT THAT IT'S MY TRANSMISSION THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
SIMILAR TO OTHER NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSIONS OUR 2013 ROGUE HAS LOST POWER WHILE DRIVE ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION AND OFTEN STRUGGLES TO KEEP SPEED. ONE INSTANCEWE WERE AT A RED LIGHT ON A STEEP INCLINE WHEN THE CAR LOST POWER. THE CAR STARTED TO ROLL BACK TOWARD THE CAR BEHIND AND WE NEARLY AVOIDED A COLLISION. WE NOTICED THIS ISSUE THE DAY WE PURCHASED IT. WE HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO OUR LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP RIGHT AWAY AND SEVERAL TIMES AFTER TO REPORT THE ISSUE BUT THEY KEPT SAYING NOTHING WAS WRONG. WE HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THE RECOMMENDEDMAINTENANCE SCHEDULE AND OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS FROM NISSAN BUT NOW AFTER THE WARRANTY HAS ENDEDTHEY INFORMED US WE NEED TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION.NISSAN HAS BEEN ACTING VERY UNETHICALLY AND ARE NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITYFOR THIS ISSUE THAT COULD BE FATAL TO OTHER DRIVERS.
WHEN DRIVING, THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS WITH NO INDICATORS. IT STARTS TO LOSE SPEED AND REV VERY HIGH WHILE THE VEHICLE CONTINUOUSLY DROPS IN SPEED. THE DIAGNOSTIC CAME BACK THAT IT WAS A DEFAULT IN THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR ALSO JERKS, REVS, AND IS VERY LOUD.
FAILED INSPECTION, REASON THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS BLINKING,,,,,MA. RMV......GARAGE SAYS ITS A CLOCK SWITCH ? THAT IS LOCATED IN STEERING COLUMN .....
MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE NEEDS THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. IT HAS 101.512 MILES ON IT. FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD THIS IS VERY UPSETTING. I HAVE CONTACTED CONSUMER AFFAIRS HOPING THAT THEY WILL PAY OR HELP PAY FOR THE COST. I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT THE CVT IN THESE VEHICLES AND IT SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE. I FEEL AS A CONSUMER THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY NISSAN.THEY SHOULD REALLY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. HOT IN IT ONE MORNING THE ENGINE E LIGHT CAME ON BACKED OUT OF MY GARAGE PUT IT IN DRIVE AND COULD NOT GO OVER 5 MILES AN HOUR AND IT WAS MAKING A WHINING SO OUND. PARKED IT AND HAD IT TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP.I AM VERY UPSET THAT THIS HAPPENED AND THAT I HAVE THIS EXPENSE NOW.
MY CAR IS A 2013 NISAN ROUGE AND I'VE PAID DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE AIRBAGS AND THE AIRBAGS WENT BAD AGAIN WHICH ISN'T SAFE AND I BELIEVE SHOULD NEVER GO BAD. I'VE ALSO REPLACED THE WHOLE EXHAUST SYSTEM CATALYTIC CONVERT TWO YEARS AGO WITH SAME DEALER AND NEED ANOTHER. THEY CONSTANTLY KEEP TELLING ME MAJOR THINGS HAVE BEEN WRONG TRANSMISSION REPLACED AS WELL AC SYSTEM ETC. IVE PAID THERE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ALMOST 8000.00 FOR ENGINE AND THEY. THE OTHER DAY I HAD OIL CHANGED AND THE MECHANIC LEFT OIL CAP OFF AND MY ENGINE ALMOST CAUGHT FIRE. THEY SAID ALL WAS OK.. PLEASE HELP ME ! I BELIEVE THEY ARE TRULY TAKING MY MONEY WHEN A LOT THESE ISSUES COULD'VE BEEN NOT NEEDED CAUSE I'M ALWAYS KEEPING UP WITH MAINTENANCE AND HAVE ALL RECEIPTS.. PLEASE HELP !!
AFTER DRIVING ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF IN 90 DEGREES WITH AIR CONDITIONER ON, THE RPMS JOLTED UPWARDS WHILE MY CAR BEGAN TO DECELERATE. IT FELT LIKE IT POPPED OUT OF GEAR AND I WAS CAREENING DOWN THE HIGHWAY IN NEUTRAL. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO THE SIDE OF THE RODE AND LET IT SET FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. I THEN HAD TO TAKE BACK ROADS AND DRIVE UNDER 50 MPH WITH OUT AIR CONDITIONER, BUT MADE IT HOME. I BROUGHT IT IN TO MAPLEWOOD KLEIN NISSAN DEALER AND DEVICE. THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND SAID THERE WAS AN INTERMITTENT TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION, AT $4200, AND THE CAR ONLY HAS 139000 MILES. THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND FILE A COMPLAINT. THEY SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AND NISSAN COMPANY HAS BEEN HELPING WITH REPAIRS, ANYWHERE BETWEEN 30-70%. HOWEVER, AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS, I WAS INFORMED BY THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT THEY DO NOT HELP CUSTOMERS WITH THIS ISSUE IF PAST THE 60000 MILES OR 5 YEARS. I ASKED HOW THE OTHER CUSTOMERS WHERE ABLE TO GET HELP, DESPITE BEING PAST THE WARRANTY, AND I WAS TOLD NISSAN WAS IN NO POSITION TO HELP ME. I SAID IT WAS DANGEROUS T DRIVE AND THE CVT SHOULD NOT BE GOING OUT THIS SOON. I ALSO STRESSED THAT RESEARCH SHOWS MANY CUSTOMERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AND SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION THEY PUT IN THE CARS. I WAS TOLD NO HELP WOULD BE GIVEN, THANK YOU FOR CALLING.
I WAS ACCELERATING TO MERGE ONTO AN EXPRESSWAY TODAY, AND MY ACCELERATION CUT OUT IN MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE LOST ALL ACCELERATION AND COASTED TO IDLE SPEED. I WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO MOVE OFF THE EXPRESSWAY AT IDLE SPEED, BUT I MAY HAVE NOT BEEN SO LUCKY IN ANOTHER SCENARIO. I ALSO NOTICED THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON SOMETIMES WHEN THE CAR IS OFF OR THE PEDAL IS NOT PRESSED. THE CAR SEEMS TO THINK THE BRAKES ARE ENGAGED AND WILL NOT ALLOW ANY ACCELERATION. I FOUND THIS TSB FOR MY VEHICLE THAT DESCRIBES THE EXACT ISSUE I AM FACING. HOWEVER, THE TSB IS INACCURATE. IT STATES THERE IS "LOW POWER" WHEN ACCELERATING. THERE IS ACTUALLY "NO POWER." THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL WHEN THIS ISSUE IS ENCOUNTERED BUT WILL COAST TO IDLE SPEED. WHILE TRAVELING TO ORLANDO FLORIDA ON SUNDAY 05/27/2019, MY VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE MORE I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL THE SLOWER MY VEHICLE BECAME. BY THE GRACE OF GOD AN 18 WHEELER TRUCK SAW MY DISTRESS AND GUIDED ME 1 MILE TO THE EXIT ON I-75 SOUTH. MY CAR DROPPED DOWN TO 20 MPH. THIS WAS THE MOST TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE. I WAS STRANDED FROM 6 PM SUNDAY UNTIL 6:30 AM THE NEXT MORNING WHERE I WAS THEN ABLE TO GET MY VEHICLE MSU RAN ERRANDS COMPANY TO TOW ME 113 MILES TO MY NEPHEW'S HOME IN BRAYSELTON GEORGIA WHERE WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN BUFORD GEORGIA. THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK TO FIND OUT MY TRANSMISSION WAS GONE. I NEVER HAD AN INDICATION THIS WAS GOING OUT AND NOW THE PRICE TO REPLACE THIS TRANSMISSION IS WELL OVER $5,000.00. I AM OVER 400 MILES AWAY FROM MY VEHICLE AND DON'T KNOW HOW I WILL GET MY VEHICLE FIXED. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT SINCE I AM NOT GOING TO GET IT FIXED BY THEM I NEED TO COME GET IT DUE TO THEM NOT HAVING ROOM TO STORE IT UNTIL I CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO. THE WARRANTY ONLY LASTED FOR 60,000 MILES OR 5 YEARS WHICH EVER CAME 2ST. WHY CAN'T THE WARRANTY ON SUCH AN EXPENSIVE PART BE GIVEN A 100,000 MILE WARRANTY? PEOPLE SUCH AS MYSELF RIDING ALONG GOING ABOUT THEIR EVERYDAY BUSINESS OT KNOWING THE VEHICLE THEY PURCHASED CAN LITERALLY BE A DEATH TRAP. THIS IS SO NOT RIGHT TO HAVE TO COME UP WITH A LARGE AMOUNT OF CASH FOR SUCH A HUGE REPAIR AND STILL HAVE A CAR NOTE TO PAY. I WOULD LIKE FOR NISSAN TO GO ONLINE AND READ THE REVIEWS OF THEIR PRODUCT, STAND BY THESE PEOPLE AND STAND BY HE PRODUCT. IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE LOOSE THEIR LIFE TO DIG DEEP INTO SEEING THE PROBLEM.
CAR WAS STATIONARY IN OUR DRIVEWAY AT HOME. PASSENGER DOOR FRONT WOULD NOT UNLOCK NOR OPEN WITH THE KEY FOB. TRIED TO UNLOCK IT PHYSICALLY BUT IT WOULD NOT OPEN. GOT INSIDE AND DOOR STILL WOULD NOT UNLOCK NOR OPEN. THE HANDLE OF THE DOOR WOULD NOT MOVE INTO SIDE DOOR OUTSIDE.
WHILE TAKING EXTENDED DRIVES, THE RPM'S BEGIN TO INCREASE AND THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO LOOSE POWER SLOWING DOWN TO THE POINT WHERE IT COMPLETELY LOSES POWER. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST SIX TIMES ON THE ROAD, FIVE ON BUSY INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS. ALL INSTANCES THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING IN EXCESS OF 60MPH. NISSAN KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM WITH ITS CVT TRANSMISSIONS AND HAS ISSUED A TECHNICAL BULLETIN. NISSAN'S TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN NTB14-002D, WHICH DESCRIBES THE ISSUE AS THE CVT GOING INTO FAIL-SAFE AFTER CONTINUOUS OPERATION UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: 1) HIGH RPM AND/OR DRIVING SPEEDS OF 65 MPH FOR 1.0 - 1.5 HOURS OR MORE, 2) DRIVING IN AMBIENT TEMPERATURE OF 96 DEGREES OR HIGHER, 3) CLIMBING STEEP OR EXTENDED HILLS FOR 6 MILES OR MORE, AND 4) WHINE OR RATTLE NOISE OCCURRING DURING REDUCED ENGINE PERFORMANCE (VEHICLE SPEED DECREASE). IN THE CASE OF MY VEHICLE, THESE CONDITIONS WERE PRESENT IN MOST OF THE CASES (FOUR OF THE SIX TIMES), IN TWO INSTANCES AMBIENT TEMPERATURE WAS NOT A FACTOR (NOVEMBER AND FEBRUARY TRAVEL) AND IN ONE INSTANCE, CLIMBING STEEP OR EXTENDED HILLS WAS NOT A FACTOR. NOW THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE SLIPPING DURING SHORT, LOCAL, TRIPS. THIS BEGAN OCCURRING AT APPROX. 36,000 MILES AND THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 90,000 MILES (THIS REPORT TO NHITSA IS FOR THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT ON 5/20/19). I DON'T TAKE LONG TRIPS FREQUENTLY (10 IS PROBABLY THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF LONG TRIPS I HAVE MADE IN THIS CAR). NISSAN HAS IDENTIFIED A PROBLEM WITH 2008-2010 CVT TRANSMISSIONS AND HAVE EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE ROGUE TO 10 YRS./120,000 MILES; THE SAME SHOULD BE DONE WITH THIS MODEL AS WELL. IT IS UNSAFE AND UNACCEPTABLE. I'VE TALKED TO THREE NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENTS AND ALL THREE HAVE WILDLY DIFFERENT ANSWERS (AND PRICES). I DON'T WHICH DEALER TO TRUST, AND I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S BETTER TO REPAIR IT OR TRADE IT. EITHER WAY, I CAN'T AFFORD IT.
DRIVING 70-75 MPH ON I-80 WEST LESS THAN A YEAR AFTER BOUGHT USED. BEGAN HEARING HIGH-PITCHED WHINE THAT STOPPED WHEN I LIFTED MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR. CONTINUED TWO MILES TO PLAZA WITH SOUND GETTING LOUDER AND HAD TO COAST INTO PARKING AREA BECAUSE TRANSMISSION WOULD NO LONGER ENGAGE. NO REVVING, NOTHING. TOWED HOME ($213). FINE FOR MONTHS, THEN HAPPENED AGAIN ON TURNPIKE. PULLED OVER, WAITED AN HOUR TO COOL. DROVE REST OF DISTANCE GOING 50 MPH OR LESS. FINALLY HAD TO FLOOR GAS PEDAL TO GET ANY MOVEMENT AFTER STOPLIGHTS. NOW MAKES BUZZING-SCREAMING NOISE EVERY TIME IT STARTS, IN NEUTRAL OR OTHERWISE. NISSAN DEALER SAYS $4,000 FOR REPAIR. I'M 67, ON FIXED INCOME AND STILL MAKING PAYMENTS!
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, 65-70 MPH, AMBIENT TEMP ABOUT 89 DEGREES, VEHICLE HAS NO ACCELERATION, SLOWS TO ABOUT 45 MPH, HIGH PITCHED WHINING NOISE. MANAGE TO GET OFF OF HIGHWAY, AFTER SLOWING TRAFFIC AND PULL TO SIDE OF HIGHWAY. TURNED CAR OFF, SAT BY SIDE OF HIGHWAY FOR AN HOUR PLUS, STARTED CAR, TURNED AROUND AND MADE IT HOME -- ABOUT 30 MILES -- IN ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF, DUE TO RE-OCCURRENCE OF ISSUE. NO LIGHTS CAME ON. NO WARNING, JUST LOSS OF ACCELERATION AND INABILITY TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC.
AFTER DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY FOR ABOUT 70 MILES OR 1 HR I LOST COMPLETE ACCELERATION ALTHOUGH CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED. I DISENGAGED CRUISE BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY, AND COASTED TO A SAFE SPOT. I SHUT THE CAR OFF FOR A BIT AND THEN IT RESUMED NORMAL DRIVING. THIS OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS DURING MY TRIP FROM WEST PALM TO ORLANDO AND ON THE RETURN TRIP.
AFTER CRUISING THE CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (70MPH) FOR AROUND AN HOUR THE CAR BEGINS TO SLOW DOWN ON IT OWN AND EVEN FLOORING THE GAS PEDAL WON'T INCREASE THE SPEED, IT WILL JUST REV AT HIGH RPM AND START SLOWING DOWN. THE CAN BARELY SPEED UP TO 30MPH AFTER THAT AFTER CONTINUING TO FLOORING THE GAS PEDAL AND REVVING THE CAR AT IT'S HIGHEST RPM. THERE ARE NO ENGINE LIGHTS. THE CAR HAS TO BE TURNED OFF FOR 10-15MINS BUT SOMETIMES EVEN THAT DOES NOT HELP. WHEN TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP THEY OFFER TO PUT A NEW TRANSMISSION WHICH COST AROUND $4000. VEHICLE STARTS RUNNING HOT AFTER ON INTERSTATE FOR APPROX. 30 MIN, TEMP WILL RETURN TO NORMAL IF HEATER IS BEING RAN ON HIGH. DIAGNOSIS WAS THERMOSTAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE RUNS HOT AFTER THERMOSTAT WAS CHANGED. WHILE ON INTERSTATE FOR APPROX. AN HOUR VEHICLE STILL RUNNING WARM. TEMP RETURNS TO NORMAL WHILE HEATER IS ON HIGH. WHILE ON CRUISE CONTROL RPMS INCREASED SUDDENLY TO 4500 WITH A SPEED OF 70. SLOWED DOWN TO 60 AND RMPS CONTINUED TO CLIMB TO 4500 UNTIL I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID FAILING. TEMP FIX, SPRAYED CONNECTION CLEANER ON TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID, RPMS ARE STILL SLIGHTLY ELEVATED FROM NORMAL, BUT MANAGEABLE FOR NOW.
DRIVING UPHILL IN INTERSTATE AT ABOUT 70 MPH WHEN VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING 1 MILE OUTSIDE COLUMBIA SC. I WAS DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO BEING RUN OFF HIGHWAY. FORTUNATELY I WAS IN RIGHT LANE AND ABLE TO ACCESS EMERGENCY SHOULDER OF ROAD.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO FLASH ALL THE TIME AND WILL NOT GO OFF. I WOULD ASSUME THIS MEANS THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE AIR BAG.

CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER ABOUT 2 HOURS DRIVING. THIS HAPPENED WITH NO APPARENT REASON AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING. NISSAN IS SELLING DEFECTIVE VEHICLES IN SUCH A WAY THAT MAKES THEM PRONE TO FAILURE WHILE THE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN. AS A RESULT, PEOPLE ARE BEING INJURED AND ARE AFRAID FOR THEIR LIVES. MY 2013 ROGUE ORIGINALLY HAD THE ABOVE DESCRIBED PROBLEM IN 2016 AND NISSAN COVERED THE REPAIR OF THE PROBLEM. YESTERDAY, 4/5/2019, MARKS THE INITIAL REOCCURRENCE OF THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE CAR SUDDENLY NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE ON THE HIGHWAY. BECAUSE MY CAR HAS JUST UNDER 120,000 MILES ON IT, THE DEALERSHIP IS CLAIMING THAT IT IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT ONLY DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM (FOR A FEE) BUT ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING THE VEHICLE.

THE TRANSMISSION WAS DRAINED TO THE CORRECT LEVEL; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.
HI, I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. THE TPMS LIGHT CAME ON WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. ITS NOT GOING OFF EVEN AFTER ADJUSTING THE TIRE PRESSURE TO THE CORRECT VALUE MANY TIMES. HAD TO TRAVEL ABOUT 30 MILES ON THE SIDE OF INTERSTATE TO GET TO NEAREST TOWN. LOCATED A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. ENDING UP PAYING THOUSANDS TO GET TRANSMISSION FIXED.
THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON EVEN THOUGH IT HAS NEVER BEEN DEPLOYED. I HAVE TO REPLACE MY AIR NOW!
WHILE IN MOTION THE VEHICLE LOST POWER TO MOVE. THERE WERENT ANY DASHBOARD LIGHTS PRESENT. VEHICLE HAS PAUSE IN A FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU AND AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS ON ACCELERATING THERE WASN'T ANY MOVEMENT.
MY BRAKES ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I FIRST NOTICED MY BRAKE NOT RESPONDING CORRECTLY TO THE NORMAL AMOUNT OF PRESSURE ON 1/15/19. I WOULD APPLY NORMAL PRESSURE AND HAVE NO RESPONSE, AND HAVE TO PRESS HARDER TO GET ANY KIND OF DECLINE IN SPEED. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SHOP AND THEY PUT ON BRAKES, ROTORS, AND FLUSHED THE BRAKE SYSTEM. A FEW WEEKS WENT BY AND THE BRAKES WERE OKAY, BUT STILL NOT NORMAL. ON 2/1/19 THE BRAKES WOULD COMPLETELY FAIL. I WOULD PRESS THE BRAKE AND THE BRAKE WOULD HIT THE FLOOR WITH NO BACKWARD PRESSURE ON MY FOOT AND NO SLOWING OF THE CAR. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP ON 2/2/19 AND THEY FLUSHED MY BRAKES. I RAN A FEW ERRANDS AND RETURNED MY CAR THAT SAME DAY BECAUSE IT WAS STILL NOT STOPPING PROPERLY. THEY FLUSHED THE BRAKES AGAIN AND SUGGESTED I SEE A NISSAN SERVICE CENTER IF THAT DID NOT FIX IT. ON 2/4/19 I TOOK MY CAR TO A NISSAN SERVICE CENTER. THEY COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE, BUT SUGGEST A BRAKE FLUSH. I DECLINED BECAUSE OF THE PRICE AND MY BRAKES HAD BEEN FLUSHED TWICE TWO DAYS PRIOR. BUT TO BE SAFE,I RETURNED IT TO THE ORIGINAL SHOP AND HAD THEM FLUSH MY BRAKES AGAIN. THE CAR WILL NOW STOP. HOWEVER, THE SAME AMOUNT OF PRESSURE MAY CAUSE A SUDDEN STOP OR A SMOOTH STOP. THE BRAKES ARE STILL NOT RESPONDING PROPERLY AND I AM AFRAID THEY WILL FAIL AGAIN. I CALLED THE NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIRS LINE AND THEY SAID TO HAVE A NISSAN SERVICE CENTER FLUSH THE BRAKES. A BRAKE FLUSH IS A BRAKE FLUSH AND IT IS NOT WORTH $118 TO HAVE A NISSAN SHOP FLUSH MY BRAKES FOR THE SAME OUTCOME. I LOOKED ONLINE TO SEE IF OTHER 2013 NISSAN ROGUE OWNERS HAD SUDDEN BRAKE FAILURE, AND THEY HAVE. I BELIEVE THIS IS WORTH LOOKING INTO. ACCIDENTS ARE HAPPENING BECAUSE OF SOMETHING WITH THIS ROGUE, NOT BECAUSE OF MY LACK OF MAINTAINING IT. THIS IS NISSAN'S FAILURE, NOT THE CONSUMER.
