TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,891.
THE 2013 NISSAN ROGUE WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT AND CAUGHT ON FIRE A FEW MINUTES AFTER THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD ABOUT 77,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS LOOKED AT BY AN ENGINEERING COMPANY AND SUGGESTED THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED IN THE ENGINE AREA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DOWNSHIFT. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER AND TOWED HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
AT 75,000 MILES THE CVT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ACCORDING TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP. I AM BEING TOLD THE TRANSMISSION FLUID IS OVER HEATING AND SENT THE CAR INTO RECOVERY MODE. THIS CAR IS DRIVEN BY MY DAUGHTER TO TRAVEL BETWEEN LUBBOCK,TX AND CAPITAN, NM FOR HER SECOND JOB AS SHE IS PAYING HER WAY THROUGH TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY. THERE IS A TECHNICAL BULLETIN (AT16-013 REFERENCE NTB16-090 FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS PARTICULAR CAR HAS HAD THE CVT-A OVERHEAT 149 TIMES, AND THE CVT-B OVERHEAT 75 TIMES. MILEAGE ON CAR IS 75,306. THE CAR PUTS ITSELF INTO RECOVERY MODE NOT ALLOWING ANY POWER AND REDUCING SPEED AS LOW AS 5MPH. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS MY DAUGHTER US ON A TWO LANE 75MPH HIGHWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES AND BEEN MISDIAGNOSED AS THE MAF SENSOR. I AM BEING TOLD IF THE CAR OPERATES AT OVER 65MPH FOR LONGER THAN AN HOUR AND A HALF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID OVERHEATS. ESTIMATE GIVEN TO REPLACE UNIT IS $4,635.52. IF I DO NOT REPAIR IT THE CAR LOSES 75% OF ITS VALUE TO TRY TO TRADE IT IN. A CASE WAS OPEN WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS DIVISION CASE #34122344. NISSAN STATED THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUES BUT NO EXTENDED WARRANTY OR RECALL WAS GIVEN TO THIS PARTICULAR YEAR OF VEHICLE ALTHOUGH THERE ARE FOR OTHER YEARS WITH SAME ISSUES. I DO NOT HAVE THE RESOURCES TO FIGHT THIS LEGALLY IN COURT OR TO TAKE THIS KIND OF FINANCIAL LOSS ON THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS A REAL ISSUE, SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED ON A HIGHWAY WHEN THESE VEHICLES GO INTO RECOVERY MODE DUE TO CVT ISSUES!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
AIR BAG PASSENGER SENSOR DISABLED SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING AND WHITENESS POPPED UP IN BOARD
SHORTLY AFTER PULLING ONTO A CITY STREET ALL LIGHTS, HEADLIGHTS, BRAKE, SIGNAL, PARK, WENT OUT DURING DRIVING. THE INDICATOR THAT THE LIGHTS WERE ON WAS STILL LIGHT THOUGH THERE WERE NO LIGHTS. SWITCHING TO HIGH BEAM DID NOT RESULT IN LIGHTS COMING ON AND BLUE HIGH BEAM INDICATOR LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. CONTINUALLY HOLDING THE LIGHT SWITCH BACK IN HIGH BEAM POSITION WAS THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE LIGHTS TO DRIVE. FUSES WERE CHECKED BY A LOCAL TECHNICIAN AND NONE WERE BAD. LIGHTS CAME BACK AFTER TURNING ENGINE OFF FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINS THEN TURNING LIGHT ON.
MY CAR ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE LIGHT MADE LIKE A CAR WITH TIRE TRACKS BEHIND IT AND GOT IT TOW BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T CRANK, AND HAD A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND IT SHOWED A PROBLEM WITH ECM
NO ACCELERATION BUT RPM'S ALMOST RED LINE COMING OUT OF TOLL BOOTH ON MAINE TURNPIKE THEN QUICKLY ACCELERATES. AGAIN AT 70 MPH IN CENTER LANE BARELY ABLE TO GET INTO BRAKE DOWN LANE WITHOUT ANY POWER. VERY DANGEROUS VEHICLE THAT'S BEEN WELL MAINTAINED.
WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AT APPRX. 70 MPH, CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN DRAMATICALLY TO ABOUT 35 MILES PER HOUR, DESPITE EFFORTS TO ACCELERATE. PUSHED GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR TO NO AVAIL. TRUCKS HAD TO SWERVE AROUND ME AS I ATTEMPTED TO GET IN RIGHT HAND LANE AND PULL OVER. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. SOUND LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS RACING (QUITE NOISY) HAVE TO STOP TURN CAR COMPLETELY OFF AND WAIT. CANNOT USE CRUISE CONTROL AS IT IS DANGEROUS.
I WAS DRIVING FROM BLOOMINGTON CA TO PHOENIX AZ.. AS I APPROACHED AN INCLINE ON INTERSTATE 10 THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO CLIMB THE GRADE IT SUDDENLY BEGAN TO LOOSE SPEED AND POWER. A WHIRRING NOISE WAS COMEING FROM THE ENGINE /TRANSMISSION COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE QUICKLY BEGAN TO LOOSE POWER AND SPEED. IT QUICKLY WENT FROM 70 MPH TO ABOUT 10 MPH. I LUCKILY REACHED THE TOP OF THE GRADE AND PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I COULD NOT PULL OVER EARLIER BECAUSE LARGE SEMI-TRUCKS WERE HAVING TO GO AROUND ME. THIS CAUSED A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION SINCE IT IS ONLY A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AND I WAS IMPEDING TRAFFIC. WHEN I PULLED OVER I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND OPENED THE HOOD TO SEE IF THERE WAS SOME OBVIOUS REASON FOR THE PROBLEM. THERE WAS NOT.I LET THE ENGINE COOL A LIITLE THEN PROCEEDED ON TO SEE IF I COULD MAKE IT TO MY DESTINATION. I PROCEEDED AT A LOW SPEED UNTIL I GOT TO TO MY DESTINATION. I HAD NOTICED IN THE PAST SOME ISSUES WITH CLIMBING INCLINES BUT NEVER TO THE EXTENT EXPERIENCED PRESENTLY. I WENT TO THE DEALER IN AZ AND WAS TOLDIT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND WAS PROBABLY CAUSED BY TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING. SINCE THE TRIP WAS ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS I WILL HAVE TO TRY TO MAKE IT HOME AS IS.
AIR BAG OR ELECTRIC ISSUE TO SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, BUT THE LIGHT NEVER GOES OFF WHEN ANYONE IS IN THE SEAT. THE AIRBAG SYSTEM SHOULDNT BE DOING THIS AND I HAVE ADDRESSED IT WITH NISSAN BUT HAVE GOTTEN NOTHING BUT THE RUN AROUND. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS POWERED ON IN PARK OR EVEN DRIVING THE LIGHT INDICATION STAYS ON.
THE PAINT IS PEALING EVERYWHERE
AIR BAGS LIGHT ON INDICATING THEY ARE NOT OPERATIONAL. TRANSMITION PROBLEMS WHEN IN DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE IS STOP. INMENSE TREMBLING OF THE VEHICLE WHEN IN SUCH CONDITIONS SUCH AS STOPPING IN A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN ANY ROAD.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE RPMS WENT TOO 4000 AND OUR SPEED WAS 45 MPH. CAME BACK HOME AND IT WOULDN'T GO OVER 1000 RPM NOT GETTING ANY POWER. I BELIEVE IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION
MY 2013 NISSAN ROUGE SLOWS DOWN ON HIGHWAY A LOT OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS BUT I NEVER GAVE IT ANY CONCERN. BUT 2 WEEKS AGO I STARTED FEELING A WHINNING COMPUTER SLIPPING MILD ROAR SOUND VIBERATION FROM DASH TO DRIVERS SEAT.THE DEALERSHIP THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS GOWING OUT.
I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. I HAVE HAD IT A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AND AT RIGHT BELOW 60K MILES IT STARTED ACTING FUNNY. AT FIRST IT WAS LIKE IT WAS HAVING PROBLEMS SHIFTING WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. WASN'T CONSTANT BUT HERE AND THERE. I TOOK IT IN TO A MECHANIC AN THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. I KEPT DRIVING IT. LATER ON IT STARTED TO JUMP ON FLAT ROADS, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP STILL NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I THEN WAS HAVING TROUBLE GOING UP HILLS, AN EVENTUALLY I WOULD LOOSE SPEED AN COULDN'T GO ANYWHERE. I HAD TO PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY AND WAIT 20 MINUTES, THEN MY CAR WOULD BE FINE AGAIN, UNTIL THE NEXT BIG HILL. I BROUGHT IT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP THEY SAID I NEEDED MY TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGED SO I PAID THE $200 AN HAD IT CHANGED OR FLUSHED OR WHATEVER IT IS THAT THEY DO. I STILL HAD PROBLEMS TO THE POINT WHERE NOW MY CAR IS NOT MOVING. I BROUGHT IT BACK AN THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP NOW SAID THAT I HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH MY TRANSMISSION AN IT WAS GOING TO BE VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX, THAT I SHOULD JUST REPLACE IT. BUT WHY? MY CAR IS 5 YEARS OLD AN HAS LESS THEN 60K MILES ON IT. IVE HEARD PLENTY OF STOIRES OF ROGUES DOING THIS, I FEEL LIKE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL OF SOME SORT.
WHEN I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHUT OFF AND IT WILL NO LONGER ACCELERATE. IT SLOWES THE VEHICLE AND I WAS ALMOST HIT TWICE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE QOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE.
NISSIAN ROGUE 2013 LOOSES TRANSMISSION POWER CLIMBING UP LOW/MEDIUM/HIGH GRADES (CITY AND FREEWAY). FROM TOWN DRIVING TO CITY TO LONG DISTANCE TRAVELING ANY SORT OF GRADE. MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE WENT FROM 65 MPH TO 10 MPH GOING UP THE "GRAPEVINE" ON HWY 5 IN CALIFORNIA. MY FOOT WAS ALL THE WAY FLOORED AND MY CAR WOULD NOT GO PAST 10 MPH! LARGE BIG RIG TRUCKS WERE HONKING AT ME IN THE SLOW LANE AND ALMOST REAR-ENDED ME (TRUCKS COULD NOT CHANGE LANES INTO THE MIDDLE LANES DUE TO TRAFFIC)!! AS I SLOWLY CREPT UP THE STEEP GRADE (FROM BAKERSFIELD, CA TO LOS ANGELES, CA) AND THEN DESCENDED, MY CAR BEGAN TO PICK UP SPEED AGAIN. CAR WAS NOT OVERHEATED, NO UNUSUAL NOISES, SMOKE, OR WARNING LIGHTS. TOOK CAR INTO NISSAN SERVICE CENTER IN SAN DIEGO. LUCKILY, I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY SERVICED MY TRANSMISSION. THEY REPORTED TO ME THAT THIS IS A "KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 2013 ROGUES." "MANY TRANSMISSIONS HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED IN THE NISSAN 2013 ROGUES DUE TO LOSS OF ACCELERATION POWER, WHETHER CITY OR FREEWAY DRIVING."! I WAS EXTREMELY SCARED AT THE IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER IN MY VEHICLE AS I TRIED TO ACCELERATE ON THE GRADE WHILE BIG RIGS WERE COMING VERY CLOSE TO MY CAR! THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND CAN CAUSE FATALITIES!! BIG RIG TRUCKS CANNOT SLOW DOWN INSTANTLY AND IF THEY ARE BEHIND A NISSAN ROGUE THAT LOOSES ACCELERATION POWER!! THIS IS A FAMILY VEHICLE AND IT IS VERY SCARY TO THINK ABOUT THE LOSS OF LIFE BECAUSE NISSAN WAS NEGLIGENT IN RECALLING KNOWN TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. I'VE RESEARCHED SIMILAR SITUATIONS AS WHAT I EXPERIENCED IN MY OWN 2013 NISSAN ROGUE AND THERE ARE MANY DOCUMENTED COMPLAINTS, MULTIPLE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENTS IN VEHICLES LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD, AND YET THE PROBLEM CONTINUES!
I WAS TRAVELLING ON THE HIGHWAY UP A LONG INCLINE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STOPPED WORKING AND THE CAR BEGAN TO DECELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OF THE ROAD. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, THEN RESTARTED IT AND TRIED TO GO AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD NOT ENGAGE. THERE WERE NO HAZARD LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND CAR TEMPERATURE WAS FINE. APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES THE CAR STAR WORKING NORMALLY AND I GOT BACK ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR DROVE OKAY FOR A WHILE BUT ON THE NEXT BIG HILL THE ACCELERATOR FAILED AGAIN, THIS TIME THE CVT (TRANSMISSION) INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER WAITING ANOTHER 15 MINUTES, THE CAR WAS STILL NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE ACCELERATOR WAS SLUGGISH AND UNRELIABLE. I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME BY DRIVING SLOWLY ON BACK ROADS, BUT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE IT AGAIN UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED.

THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AUTOCOM NISSAN OF CONCORD (1290 CONCORD AVE, CONCORD, CA 94520, (925) 275-534) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED AND A NEWER MODEL TRANSMISSION WAS NEEDED THAT HAD A COOLING KIT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED A CASE NUMBER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,800.
I WAS DRIVING FOR ABOUT 40 MINUTES UPHILL ON A FREEWAY WHEN MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE STARTED TO LOSE SPEED. FIRST I COULDN'T ACCELERATE MORE THAN 60MPH, THEN 45MPH. I HAD TO BE TOWED HOME AND WAS TOLD I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. AFTER READING SO MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, I AM CONVINCED THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND RECALLED.
THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND ON HIGHWAY OR HIGHER SPEED SITUATIONS-THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THE GAS PEDAL IS PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE BUT ACTUALLY DECELERATES FURTHER. IF TRAFFIC SLOWS AND THE DRIVER REMOVES A FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATION PEDAL TO SLOW A BIT, SPEED CANNOT BE REGAINED AND THE CAR IS LEFT AT A VERY SLOW SPEED IN HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC CREATING A SAFETY RISK. THE CAR HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A NEED FOR A COSTLY ADD ON PART (CVT COOLER KIT) TO PREVENT THE TRANSMISSION FROM OVERHEATING AND GOING INTO LIMP MODE. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT WAS OCCURRING IN OUR 2009 NISSAN ROGUE MODEL AND ACKNOWLEDGED BY NISSAN AND REPAIRED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY ARE DENYING REPAIR TO OUR 2013 NISSAN ROGUE FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WHICH WE HAD HOPED TO HAVE BEEN CORRECTED PRIOR TO PURCHASE OF THE 2013 MODEL. THIS A HIGH RISK SAFETY ISSUE WITH NO ACCELERATION POWER IN HIGH SPEED SETTINGS AS WELL AS OTHER SITUATIONS. THE CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN WITHOUT DANGER TO OUR LIVES OR EXTREME RISK FOR BEING IN OR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
MY CAN HAS 65000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS NOT ACCELERATING LIKE IT USE TO AND THERE IS A WHISTLING NOISE
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR DOES NOT UNLOCK. DRIVER IS LOCKED INSIDE VEHICLE. IN THE INSTANCE OF A DISABLED DRIVER, THIS IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS AS THE DRIVER MUST EXIT OTHER DOOR. PEOPLE WITH LIMITED MOBILITY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO DO SO. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, THIS MAY ALSO BE A HAZARD
CVT TRANSMISSION DIED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. THREE DIFFERENT TIMES THIS HAPPENED TO ME IN THE HIGHWAY GOING AT 75 MPH AND LOST COMPLETE ACCELERATION WITH THE GAS PEDAL DEPRESSED ALL THE WAY. MY RPMS WENT UP TO 8000 THIS LAST TIME. ROSEN NISSAN IN MADISON DID THE DIAGNOSTIC ON IT ON THE THURSDAY PRIOR TO MY DEPARTURE ON MY TRIP , AND SAID THAT ALL THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE WAS TRANSMISSION FLUID REPLACED. APPARENTLY THERE WASN'T ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. PRIOR TO MY HAVING THIS ALL DONE I HAD RESEARCHED WHY MY CAR WOULD STOP ACCELERATING COMPLETELY AND THE REASONS WERE DUE TO THE CVT TRANSMISSION WHICH HAD BEEN RECALLED IN A NUMBER OF ROGUES AND MURANO AND VERSA'S. MANY HAD TO HAVE THEIR TRANSMISSIONS REPLACED AND THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTIES ON SOME OF THE MODELS TO 120K/10 YR. MINE WASN'T! TELL ME WHY A CAR WITH 110K THAT'S 5 YRS OLD WOULD ALL OF A SUDDEN DIE IF THERE'S NOT SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ACTUAL RELIABILITY OF THE WAY THE TRANSMISSION WAS BUILT IN THE FIRST PLACE? GOING IN CIRCLES WITH NISSAN THEY'RE DENYING ANYTHING WRONG ON THEIR END AND WON'T REPLACE SOMETHING THAT CLEARLY A LOT OF ISSUES HAVE BEEN REPORTED WITH THIS TRANSMISSION!! SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE NISSAN ACCOUNTABLE!
AFTER HAVING A TRANSMISSION FAIL IN APRIL 2017 AND HAVING IT REPLACED BY THE NISSAN DEALER IN COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO, I WAS SHOCKED WHEN MY 2013 ROGUE LOSING SPEED AND REFUSING TO ACCELERATE A YEAR LATER. I WAS DRIVING TO MY PARENTS ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY DOING ABOUT 55MPH. ABOUT 40 MINUTES INTO MY TRIP MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND WAS QUICKLY LOSING SPEED. I MANAGED TO LIMP IT TO MY PARENTS, ALREADY KNOWING WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THIS IS THE SECOND TRANSMISSION IN A VEHICLE THAT NOW HAS ONLY 112,000 MILES ON IT. IF I WERE TO REPLACE IT WOULD BE 3 TRANSMISSIONSIN 5 YEARS FOR THE CAR. NISSAN NORTH AMERICA IS NOT WILLING TO HELP, BUT SEEMS TO KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING TO NUMEROUS PEOPLE. THEY KNEW IT YEARS AGO BUT DID NOT CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION, INSTEAD CONTINUES TO INSTALL THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND MAKE MONEY WHEN THEIR PRODUCTS FAIL AND WE HAVE TO REPLACE AND REPAIR.
WE WERE DRIVING ON I-70 IN CENTRAL KS, IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, AT A SPEED OF 75MPH, WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUT OFF, AND THE CAR SLOWED TO 60MPH WITH NO WARNING, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, OR ANYTHING. I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN THE 60 MPH WITH THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. OTHER DRIVERS AND SEMIS WERE SWERVING AND DODGING US, THERE WAS NO SAFE PLACE TO GET OFF OF THE ROAD. MY WIFE, SON AND GRANDDAUGHTER WERE ALL IN THE CAR, AND WE WERE ALL AFRAID OF BEING HIT BY AN ANY DRIVER WHO DIDN'T HAPPEN TO REALIZE THAT WE WERE NOT GOING THE SPEED LIMIT. WE LIMPED THE CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALER IN SALINA, KS WHO TOLD US THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD OVERHEATED, BECAUSE NISSAN DID NOT INSTALL A TRANSMISSION COOLER, AND THE VALVE BODY HAD BURNT UP. THE DEALER TOLD US IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT IT. THE COST TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE IS $2700. WE CONTACTED NISSAN, AND WERE TOLD ESSENTIALLY, IT'S YOURS, TOO BAD. YOU BOUGHT IT WITH 73000 MILES ON IT, AND IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. WE HAVE ONLY OWNED THE CAR FOR 5 WEEKS. I FEEL THIS WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION, AND WE COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION'S VALVE BODY. WHAT IS MOST CONCERNING IS NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT IT AND IS REFUSING TO ASSIST IN THE REPAIR OF THE VEHICLE, OR EVEN ADMIT THAT IT HAS PROBLEMS. AFTER ARRIVING IN COLORADO SPRINGS AND FINDING A NISSAN DEALER WHO WOULD LOOK AT IT AND RESEARCHING THE PROBLEMS OF OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME CAR, WE WERE WITHOUT A CAR FOR 2 OF THE 5 DAYS OF OUR VACATION, WHICH WAS A REAL BUMMER FOR OUR FAMILY. OVER $3500 LATER (THANK GOD I HAD ENOUGH CREDIT ON MY CREDIT CARD), AFTER INSTALLING A COOLER FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACING THE VALVE BODY WE WERE ABLE TO GET BACK HOME. NOW I HAVE A HIGH INTEREST CREDIT CARD BALANCE TO PAY THAT OFF. I AM REALLY STRESSED FINANCIALLY I CANNOT AFFORD THIS AND AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS THAT ARE IDENTICAL, I ALSO THINK I GOT OVERCHARGED BY NISSAN DEALER IN COLORADO BY OVER $1000. IT RUINED OUR VACATION WHICH ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE EVERY OTHER YEAR MODEL OF THIS VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM. I PAID $210.23 FOR THIS SERVICE, WHICH I NOW REALIZE THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO PAY ANYTHING, SINCE THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, AND THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT. I INQUIRED ABOUT NISSAN EXTENDING THE WARRANTY TO 120K MILES BECAUSE OF ALL OF THE ISSUES THAT THEY ARE HAVING WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS.
