NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2016 Nissan Rogue. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
While pulling into a parking slot the vehicle accelerated and crashed thru the front of a medical clinic and into an inner wall. Air bags did NOT deploy.
The transmission began to fail and caused the vehicle to stall for approximately 5 to 6 seconds before moving. There were several instances where I was unable to move my vehicle while in the parking lot and came close to being hit by another vehicle or came close to hitting another vehicle. It is known to Nissan that their CVTs fail and my vehicle had began to fail at 35k miles. They replaced the transfer case 4 times but never replaced the transmission despite my request.
The contact's daughter owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at various speeds, an abnormal banging sound was coming from the engine without warning. Her daughter had initially taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who repaired the transmission housing; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was brought back to the mechanic who then notified the local dealer of the failure. The mechanic was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty; however, the local dealer agreed to cover half the cost for a new transmission. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and was given the same information as the dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, when the vehicle began to jerk forward and decelerated to 20 mph. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park at a near gas station and was stationed for 30 minutes before continue driving to her residence. The contact also stated she was unable to reverse the vehicle from her garage. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,098.
I was driving on a four lane freeway when my transmission (with no warning) started acting strange. The engine started revving like I was stepping on the gas harder, but the car was actually slowing down. It felt like the engine was going to blow so I took my foot off of the gas. I tried to accelrate to get to the exit lane as cars were trying to pass on the left and right. The transmission would catch and start working sort of and then start racing the engine again. I was able to get off of the highway, but it was a very harrowing experience. Even though I was off of the highway I needed to continue to a safe place. The car continued to race the engine, but not really accelerate. Had car towed to dealer. Car needs new transmission. Apparently this is a known defect with these transmissions.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the driver’s side seat would fail to recline upon the depression of the switch. The contact stated that the seat would eventually recline after multiple attempts. The contact then received a notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System). The dealer had been notified about the recall; however, the contact was informed that the parts were not yet available. The manufacturer had been notified of the recall and informed her that the parts may not be available until in the spring. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. VIN tool confirms parts are not available.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle was idling. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the CVT transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 71,805.
The check engine light came in my car. Thinking it was something simple, because it only has 28k miles. I took it to a non Nissan mechanic for diagnostics. After finding out it wasn’t simple, I called Nissan warranty. They told me I had to take it to their mechanic for diagnostics. So I’m doubly diagnosed with a failing transmission that needs to be replaced. Nissan warranty has offered to pay 70% of repairs. Two weeks ago I asked for an estimate, and a trade in price for my car. They still haven’t returned my call. This is so frustrated because I paid cash for my car, and now all I want to do is dump it.
THE VEHICLE HAS LOW MILES (CLOSE TO 30,000) AND TRANSMISSION IS FAILING - DOES NOT WANT TO SHIFT TO NEXT GEAR AND CREATES A DANGER TO PASSENGER AND OTHER DRIVERS.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle would idle, shudder, and a knocking noise was heard. The contact was able to drive to his residence. Upon researching, the contact related the failure to the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was over the mileage warranty and referred the contact to take the vehicle to a local dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.
My 2016 Rogue is now needing its 4th passenger side headlight replaced in 5 years. Each time it is due to a broken seal around the headlight, which allowed water to come in and short circuit the headlight & making the non-bright function null. Brights still work. After taking it to 2 separate local Nissan dealerships, they both concluded it was indeed a faulty headlight / design and both indicated it would be $1600 to replace with a new one. After relaying this info to Nissan Corporate, they said they wouldn't help with their "Goodwill Program" since they'd already done so the last time the headlight was replaced and because of the age of the vehicle. However, as I mentioned to the Nissan rep, the issue has never truly been FIXED (ie: the seal area around the headlight to prevent moisture shorting out the light) since the previous headlights have all given out in the exact way. My perception is this is just a poorly designed vehicle that Nissan was willing to flood into the market but was never intended to last more than 5-6 years, nor was Nissan willing to stand behind and admit their design mistakes. By the way, I have a 2015 Armada with more miles than my Rogue and those headlights are still as bright as ever.
The transmission shakes shudders then won't accelerate. Then all of the sudden revs up and takes off
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the airbag warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The contact stated the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V911000 (Air Bags). The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.
Transmission gone out at 70000 miles
I bought my Rouge used on 7/6/21, and it started acting up on 8/15/21. A whole 9 days after my 30 day limited warranty ran out. It feel like the transmission is slipping. It jerks, bogs down, doesn't accelerate when you step on the gas, is hesitant to back up or drive, will stall while driving, and completely loses power while driving. I was driving to work today and it lost power while i was on the highway, had i not been able to pull off I could've have been killed. It was driving fine at 65 mph and then just started to lose power and not want to go. I pulled off the highway and shut it off and then after a few minutes restarted the car, it still hesitated to go and was jerking and bogging down but didn't lose power again. I am afraid to drive this or have my kids in the car but I don't have a choice as I am still paying on this car. The check engine light did not come on until after these things occurred. It was driving fine prior to 8/15/21 and nothing occurred that should've caused this problem.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, an abnormal, gunshot noise emit from her vehicle without incident. The contact reached her destination and upon initial inspection, she could not find any failures with the vehicle. The next day upon entering her vehicle and shutting her door, she heard broken glass rattling in her sunroof. Upon inspection, she discovered a large chunk of glass had shattered in the middle of the sunroof which she linked to her failure today before. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was also referred to a local dealer for a diagnostic which had yet to be done. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

My 2016 Nissan Rogue began jerking on our way home from vacation. It was shaking and and jerking we got so scared it kept bumping us and jerking us we actually had to pull over off the freeway luckily we were near an O' reily's they told us it was the cvt transmission we ended up calling a tow truck to get us as we were soo scared to keep driving.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undetermined speed, the vehicle was jerking and vibrating. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
Engine unexpectedly stalls/stops under power. Along with power steering and brakes. Engine sensors were replaced by dealership. Condition persists and confirmed by dealership. Dealership maintains this is an engine wiring harness issue that shorts out under certain conditions. While engine was operating, dealership was able to cause engine to stop. Cautioned me to get wiring harness replaced, as it could present a safety issue or accident. Check engine lie went on as did the traction control light in each case after they were reset. I am taking vehicle to another service center to evaluate. Estimate was $3,402 to replace engine harness, plus it was $750 to replace sensors, Vehicle has 55,000 miles on it.
I was driving on highway when my 2016 Nissan Rogue SV with 60,700 miles and just 5 years old transmission began slipping. The RPMs were jumping up and down when I tried to accelerate and travel with highway traffic at 65mph. I could not get vehicle to travel past 50 mph and once I was safely able to pull off exit, the car which was still in drive, began rolling backwards towards other vehicles on exit ramp. No warning lights ever came on, and there was no prior indication of a transmission failure. No stalling, slipping, lurching, etc. My safety along with my 7 & 2 year old was put at great risk as we could have easily been hit going so slow on an interstate, along with it rolling backwards on exit ramp. It was too unsafe to pull off on highway breakdown lane because it’s too narrow. The vehicle was then towed to Nissan dealership where it was confirmed to be a transmission failure at no fault of my own, but a “mechanical failure” as they described and they fixed.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the driver's side window became inoperable. There were several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the window was repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 86,000. Parts distribution disconnect. - (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS
When I got into a car crash and I hit the deer really hard the airbags on the car did not deploy which where the deer almost smacked right into my window and went inside the car but damage and vehicle was not drivable at all need to tow it shop front car damaged to wheel at
The sunroof leaks everytime it rains. No damage had been done and no accidents. Nissan dealership says it is not leaking, but there are water stains and I have watched rain pour in while it is raining. The drains have been cleaned out twice by a Nissan dealership, but that does not fix the problem.
My 2016 Nissan Rogue has about 58426 miles on it. At first I noticed that it was very slowly reaching the desired speed, when press on gas pedal. I was thinking it just because the ECO mode is On. Then I turn it OFF but it still slowly reaches desired speed. On July 9, 2021 about 4 months after noticing the problems with acceleration, I was driving and car just starts making jerking, stalling movements while driving and the RPM's was jumping up and down especially when you start driving and reaching the speed limit of about 45mph. I took it for another test drive and it was jerking, shaking and stalling a lot and making very loud noise. Feel like the car will stop suddenly at the middle of the road causing hazard for other drivers and involve in the accident. Check Engine light came ON. Very slowly came home and then ask independent mechanic to check the car. The Code reads P0841 and P0776. Tried to erase the codes but check engine light was still on. Changing the transmission oil, filter and gasket didn't resolve the problem, the Check Engine light is OFF though, for now , but the car still jerks. Slowly pressing the gas pedal and the RPM"s jumps to 3 then back to normal and car stalls and jerks. You can hear that it starts from the front bottom of the car and goes back through the whole car. Very scared to drive the car. I thought that Nissan is very reliable car, but not thinking that anymore. I also found that there are lot more complains about the transmission and even the law suits started in 2013 and 2021 and that Nissan knows about the problem with CVT transmission since 2013 but not doing anything about it. Very disappointed!
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the seat belt warning light indicating that the front passenger's side seat belt was not buckled had illuminated. The contact stated that the failure recurred while the front passenger's side seat belt was buckled. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle would be repaired at her own expense. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the failure would be covered under an unknown recall. However, the local dealer informed the contact that the vehicle would be repaired at her own expense. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
while attempting to accelerate from a stop, the vehicle hesitated to respond. Several seconds later the vehicle started performing as intended. Turning the car off when it doesn't accelerate from a stop and then turning it back on, fixes the problem for the moment. No warning lights came on. It happens more after being in stop and go traffic and it happens very sporadically
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated with the RPM rising. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated to respond with the accelerator pedal depressed all the way to the floorboard. The contact stated there was a discrepancy between the speed of the vehicle and the RPM. The contact also stated that the passenger’s side front seat belt failed to restraint the passenger when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V663000 (Seats, Seat Belts). The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated once. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the TCM and ECM software needed to be updated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.
While driving on the highway going 55mph out of no where. No warning sign or anything the forward collision warning and then the malfunction comes across the display. And the SUV just comes to a about 2 mph . Leaving me to pull over immediately to safety. This is not safety me or the drivers on the road. This has happened several times.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was slow to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the continuously variable transmission (CVT) was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 63,400.
Delayed acceleration, engine revving higher rpms without increasing its speed, after being in very slow moving traffic car will only go about 30 mph but rev very high
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she became aware that the front passenger's seat light was on. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger's seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V716000 (Seats); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure; however, no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
Reviving RPMS, car is shudder decreasing and increasing speed dangerous to drive
Passenger air bag light goes on and off whether there is an adult in the seat or not. There are a few recalls for this issue but my VIN does not come up as an affected vehicle. There are several complaints of the same nature on the nhtsa website and I feel Nissan needs to look into this issue.
The auto window doesn’t work sometimes and it relates to the recall. I don’t want fire to happen
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH, the RPMs started to fluctuate. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park on the side of the road and restarted the vehicle after waiting for 30 minutes. The contact stated that the vehicle continued to experience failure. Additionally, the vehicle started to jerk forward. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed to her residence. The contact stated she had an independent mechanic diagnose the vehicle at her residence and she was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
The passenger airbag sensor is faulty, it randomly turns on and off indiscriminately when an adult is in the seat. I have already reached out to Nissan because there is a similar recall but my VIN isn’t covered in it. Nissan was unwilling to help and even when I took it to the Nissan dealer they refused to change out the sensor. This is life threatening if the car gets in an accident and an adult is in the passenger seat, but the airbag does not deploy.
My vehicle failed to accelerate while stopped at a left turn with oncoming traffic. This happened a few times. And the most recent incident, my vehicle failed to shift, forcing me to drive my vehicle in the wrong gear for 10 miles at 4,000 rpm's. I brought the vehicle to the dealer for inspection but they couldn't reproduce the malfunction at that time. I'm currently driving my vehicle under significant safety risk.
My rear lift gate does not stay in the up position when I open it. It comes crashing down on my head and it’s hit me in the head several times as the lift gate comes down so quickly and abruptly. It’s hit others as well and has hurt them. When the full weight of the lift gate comes down it’s heavy and it hurts. It’s not safe to open anymore. There was a recall issued by the NHTSA placed on the 2016 Rogue for the rear lift gate not staying open due to corrosive parts. Unfortunately my rogue was not included in the recall. My car was purchased in July and the recall was up to January 2016. I called Nissan and because I am out of warranty they will not evaluate at their cost or fix it if it’s the same issue as the recall. I have not had it evaluated as I wanted to reach out to the NHTSA first. There were no warning lights to alert me to this issue. One day it just happened coming down hard and striking me in the head. I was really hurt. I had a headache for the entire day and small bump on the back of my head. It was not serious enough to see a doctor but doesn’t change the fact that I got hurt I am very nervous that the next time I open it it won’t stop about halfway and the full weight of the lift gate will come crashing down on me or someone else and cause serious injury. Please consider adding my VIN number to the recall. It should included so that it can be evaluated at Nissan’s expense and fixed.
I WAS JUST STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. WHILE SITTING STILL WAITING FOR THE LIGHT, MY CAR BEGAN TO BUCK. AND THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. MY CAR ONLY HAS 68,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE IT SERVICED REGULARLY. I TOOK IT DIRECTLY TO MY MECHANIC AND HE THINKS IT'S SOME KIND OF SENSOR PROBLEM. HE RESET THE SENSORS AND TOLD ME IF IT CAME BACK AGAIN TO COME BACK. TODAY I STARTED MY CAR TO DRIVE TO THE GROCERY AND AGAIN I COME TO THE. THE CORNER AND THE BUCKING STARTS. I WANT RIDE HOME. I WILL BE TAKING MY CAR TO THE MECHANIC TOMORROW. ALSO I JUST WANT TO SAY YOUR SITE SAYS MY CAR HAS FIVE RECALLS. AND IT SAYS THAT NONE OF THE RECALLS IS NEEDED AT THIS TIME. I'VE NEVER GOTTEN A RECALL NOTICE FROM NISSAN FOR MY VEHICLE. SO I DON'T KNOW IF THEY'RE REPORTING THAT THEY'RE DOING THESE RECALLS ON MY CAR AND THEY REALLY AREN'T OR WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. MAYBE SOMEONE THERE CAN HELP ME WITH THAT TOO. THANK YOU
MY SUNROOF EXPLODED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPROX. 70 MPH. NOTHING HIT IT, IT JUST EXPLODED.
At. 26000 miles, my Rogue was powering down taking off from a traffic light. Pressing on the gas was of no use. Since I lived in a small town, I was able to coast, to the side of the road, but still in the road. I thought a new mat had probably slid under the gas pedaI so I removed the mat. I did notice a few hesitations without the mat but not enough to worry me. Then, I was on a four-lane highway, At a red light. The light changed, I pressed on the gas, the car moved forward. I lost complete acceleration again no matter how much I pressed the gas pedal. I had enough momentum to just get in between the right turn lane and traffic going straight from the other direction . The motor never died. After a few seconds, the car drove like nothing had ever happened. My first visit to the dealership. They were baffled. No problem until 10 months later at 37,000 miles. This time a mechanic decided the idle was low and “relearned” it. I felt confident. Then I moved to a large metropolitan city. I enter a major road each time I leave my house.Twenty-two months later, and at 57,000 miles, it once again lost power in the LEFT-HAND lane of a 2 lane turn. I considered myself lucky one more time. I was able to COAST between cars in the right turn lane, across two more lanes and into a store parking lot. A few seconds of sitting still and off again. The second incident was a couple days later on a two hour interstate trip with passengers. Same story. After the trip home over the weekend, I had the car at a second dealership . That was when I found multiple recalls and lawsuits about Nissan CVT transmissions slipping. I was surprised to see there have been only 8 deaths. This service department basically said, if it didn’t show up on the diagnostics it wasn’t true. I currently have a loaner while the original Dealership has the car.
EVERY OTHER TIME WHEN I START MY NISSAN IN THE MORNING, THE RED LIGHT FOR THE AIRBAG ON THE DASHBOARD COMES ON. IF I SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN AND RE-START IT AGAIN AND THE LIGHT GOES AWAY. IF I LET THE LIGHT STAY ON WITHOUT RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE IT, THE LIGHT NEVER GOES AWAY TILL I SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STOPPED ABRUPTLY AND WAS UNABLE TO MOVE FORWARD. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE AILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,000.
DRIVER SEAT MOVES WHEN BRAKING.
In April 2021 I purchased a 2016 Nissan Rogue. A few times I noticed that I did not have my seatbelt on while driving which for me, is highly unusual because it is the first thing I do once I start my engine. It is the AUDIBLE chime that alerts me. I then specifically started my engine and realized that the car DID NOT have a safety belt CHIME. ( FMVSS 208 S7.3 ) I took it to a Nissan dealer. The technician told me that Nissan DID NOT put a safety belt audible chime in ANY of their vehicles before 2020. I could not believe what I was hearing. Not only is this feature federal law but, it is also in the Nissan owners manual. It is not a feature that can be turned on or off. It is a federal requirement. Nissan is violating federal law and has been doing so for years at the expense of the American people. I am worried for my safety and the safety of others since it is difficult to DISCOVER that there is no audible seat belt safety chime and that it is a safety issue that might prevent one from putting on their seatbelt so that they don’t go flying through the front windshield. Federal law states: “manufacturers have an OPTION. They can EITHER use a seatbelt symbol AND an audible chime OR The words “ Seat Belt” AND An audible chime”. The audible chime is not an OPTION it is a requirement. The chime is NOT a feature that can be turned on or off in any Nissan vehicle including my 2016 Nissan Rogue. The consumer needs to know about this missing safety feature as per Federal law. I wonder how many lives have been lost because Someone just like me, needed that audible safety belt chime to remind them that their seat belt was not buckled and it cost them their lives. There is a reason that the safety belt safety law has two components. A VISUAL and an AUDIBLE safety belt feature. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards exist for the safety of the American people. With Nissan, this does not seem to matter.
The suv jerks, loses power and the brake pedal squeaks, sometimes it smells of burning.
CVT TRANSMISSION APPEARED ABNORMAL NOISE,WHEN DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED, THERE IS A NOISE; AT LOW SPEEDS, THERE IS A SCRATCHING SOUND
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
MY VEHICLE BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION RIGHT BEFORE THE 60,000 WARRANTY WAS UP. I WAS NOT ABOUT TO GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE DEALERSHIP UNTIL MONDAY MARCH 22, 2021 AT THIS TIME THE MILEAGE WAS 60,063. THE ISSUES BEGAN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, I NOTICED THE CAR WAS DECELERATING AND WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS THERE WAS A SCREECHING SOUNDS SO I PULLED OVER. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE CAR EVENTUALLY BUT IT WOULD JERK WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND THE SCREECHING NOISE RETURN AT 3000 RPM. I BROUGHT IT INTO A AUTO SHOP WHO RECOMMENDED BRING IT TO A DEALERSHIP. THAT IS WHERE IS WAS DIAGNOSED WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND RECOMMENDED FOR A REPLACEMENT. THAT BRINGS ME BACK TO THE MILEAGE ISSUE, IF I WAS ABLE TO GET IT IN A DAY SOONER THE TRANSMISSION WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY COVERED. NISSAN'S GOODWILL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WILL COVER HALF, BUT THE CVT HAS BEEN A SOURCE OF SEVERAL LAWSUIT. NISSAN ISSUES AND EXTENSION ON THE WARRANTY. I HAVE EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AND $2,200 IS A LOT OF MONEY FOR AN ISSUE A DESIGN ISSUE, ESPECIALLY WHEN NISSAN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR SOME NISSAN ROGUE THAT ARE THE SAME YEAR. WHY NOT FOR ALL WITH SIMILAR ISSUES. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A PREDATORY PRACTICE AND AS A YOUNG WOMAN WHO DOES NOT KNOW MUCH I FEEL TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF RIGHT NOW. I DO LOVE MY CAR AND WOULD HAVE LIKED TO REMAIN WITH NISSAN BUT WITH THE PANDEMIC AND JOB SECURITY BEING CRITICAL ELEMENTS OF Y SURVIVAL I AM NO LONGER CONFIDENT IN MY VEHICLE ABILITY TO BE RELIABLE IN MY EVERY DAY NEEDS. THIS WAS A STRESSFUL ORDEAL AND I HOPE THIS SAVES ANOTHER YOUNG WOMAN FROM MAKING A SIMILAR MISTAKE.
