BRAKES CONTINUED TO LOCK UP WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 20-30 MPH. DEALERSHIP FOUND ROTORS WERE WARPED AND TURNED THEM, REDUCING FAILURE RATE. AS A RESULT TIRES HAVE FLAT SPOTS AND ARE DAMAGED. DEALERSHIP/NISSAN REFUSES TO REPLACE. *AK
AFTER REAR ENDING ANOTHER VEHICLE AT 40 MPH FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED.*AK
VEHICLE WAS MAKING A THUMPING SOUND WHILE DRIVING. NOISE FADE OUT WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. SAME DAY, ROTORS WERE ROTATED AND IT REPEATED THE PROBLEM. ON FEBRUARY 27, 2001 IT WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALER , AND NOISE THEY SAID WAS COMING FROM RIGHT FRONT TIRE. MECHANIC AT DEALER TOLD CONSUMER THAT ALL SMALL CARS DO THIS. OTHER SMALL VEHICLES CONSUMER HAS HAD HAVE NOT DONE THIS.*AK
HAD HEAD-ON COLLISION WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THREE PASSENGERS WERE SLIGHTLY INJURED. *AK
DRIVER CONTACTED DEALER ABOUT RECALL ON LOWER CONTROL ARM BOLTS. DEALER STATED PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. *AK
SUDDEN ACCELERATION HAD OCCURRED IN REVERSE ON TWO OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING, AND ONCE IN FORWARD POSITION, WHICH LEAD TO A VEHICLE CRASH. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
WHEN DRIVING 35-40- MPH AND APPLYING BRAKES ABRUPTLY, BRAKES WILL LOCK UP AND VEHICLE SLIDES. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME AT THAT SPEED/ WET OR DRY ROAD CONDITIONS. VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER ONCE, CANNOT REMEDY. *AK

WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE VIBRATES AND BOUNCES. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE, AND WILL REPLACE STRUTS. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE PEDAL DOES NOT GO TO FLOOR. HOWEVER, THE SYSTEM APPEARS TO LOCK UP, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK CONSUMER STATES THIS IS A VERY POOR ENGINEERING DESIGN OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM THAT CAUSES THE BRAKES TO LOCK UP WHEN THEY ARE APPLIED BEYOND A VERY SLOW DRIVING CONDITION. *SLC

OIL FILTER REMOVAL RESULTS IN OIL DRAINING ONTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. LOTS OF AIR POLLUTION, SMOKE AND SMELL UPON START UP. DEALERS HAVE NO REMEDY EXCEPT TO SUGGEST USE OF LOTS OF RAGS. NISSAN UNRESPONSIVE. ACCORDING TO DEALERS, THIS IS THE ONLY MODEL SO AFFECTED.*AK

I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WHEN APPLING THE BRAKES, WITH THE CAR GOING INTO A SLIDE /SKID AND ALMOST HITTING ANOTHER CAR, GOING AT A SLOW RATE. THIS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE. I WAS TOLD ON A COUPLE OF OCC. THAT IT WOULD COST ME TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT THE BRAKES, EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRENTY. THEY SAID THEY DROVE IT AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT IN, THEY FOUND THE CAR TO BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND SAID IT RELATED TO THE CALIBERS ON THE BRAKES. WHAT CAN I DO FOR A COMPLAINT TO NISSAN FOR THEIR LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY ON THE SITUATION? CAN I TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THEM? DT

THE FRONT TIRES LEFT BLACK MARKS ON THE ROAD. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE TIRE DO NOT COVER A LARGE AREA ON THE ROAD THEREFORE THEY SLID (P185/65R14). *SCC *NLM

RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 01V357000. CONSUMER'S "ENGINE" LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED, BUT THE DEALER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE'S PROBLEM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL AND IS A WARRANTY ISSUE. THEREFORE, THE DEALER IS REFUSING TO SERVICE, FREE OF CHARGE, UNDER RECALL.
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT HAVING PROBLEMS WITH A RECALL NOTICE.ALSO STATED THAT THE RECALL NOTICE STATED THAT THE ENGINE MAY STOP WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ALSO THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT MAY COME ON.DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND IS TELLING THE CONSUMER THAT THE RECALL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE VEHICLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS.MANUFACTURE WAS CONTACTED AND TOLD THE CONSUMER THE SAME THING THAT THE DEALER STATED.
CONSUMER STATES WHILE DRIVING REAR BUMPER FELL TO THE GROUND ON ONE SIDE, AND STILL REMAINE DATTACHED BY PLASTIC MECHANISM ON OTHER SIDE. THERE WAS NO COLLISION. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED.*AK

WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE. DRIVER PULLED OVER AND NOTICED A BUBBLE IN THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE, AND THE STEEL BELTS WERE COMING OUT OF TIRE. CURRENTLY, THE RIGHT REAR TIRE DEVELOPED THE SAME PROBLEM.*AK

CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. THE SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE MOTOR STALLED. THIS VEHICLE WAS HAVING AN ASSORTMENT OF ELECTRICAL DEFECTS, INCLUDING POWER WINDOWS. *AK
THE ENGINE COMPLETELY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND WOULDN'T RESTART. *PH THE PROBLEM WAS RELATED TO THE ENGINE SENSOR. THE VEHICLE WOULD LURCH FORWARD. *SC THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE TWO AFTER THE INCIDENT REGARDING AN ENGINE SENSOR. THE CONSUMER WAS ALSO TOLD THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. *JB
