Bought a 2006 Nissan Sentra from an individual as a first car for my grandson. Drivers Seatbelt does not retract. Took to body shop and they said it was a safety issue and we would need to take it to the dealer. The Nissan Dealer in Chattanooga said that they could not repair it as the part was discontinued. Did not give us an alternative other than to to google it and fix it ourselves (but it's a safety problem that even a body shop won't touch). So now my Grandson has his first car but it's worthless?

The contact stated that he was able to restart the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed and the mechanic retrieved DTC: P0335 (Crankshaft) and P0725 (TCM, ECM). The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there would be a diagnostic test fee assessed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 193,377.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag warning light would remain illuminated and the b1066 front passenger air bag module due to electrical circuit shortage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22E066000 (Air Bags). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 125,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 MPH and exiting the highway, the vehicle decelerated and then lost motive power. The vehicle lost power steering and braking functionality; additionally, the instrument panel went blank. The contact pulled safely off the road and the vehicle would not restart. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts and drove back to his residence. The contact who is an independent mechanic, diagnosed the vehicle with a crankshaft position sensor code (P0335). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched the failure online and discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 07V527000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Sentra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V747000 (Air Bags) and had the vehicle taken to the dealer to be repaired. Additionally, the transmission fluid was flushed and refilled. The contact stated that after the vehicle was returned, the transmission fluid was checked and looked the same as before the transmission flush. Additionally, the airbag was not repaired properly. The contact was concerned that no repairs had been performed on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.
Car has pick up issues. It has been issues when Stop at signal light and I afraid behind cars may hit me. When I did research on internet found many people complained for the same issue. THE MANUAL LOCK DOWN LEAVER FOR THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL IN PLACE ,THIS ALLOWS THE STEERING WHEEL TO COME LOOSE WHILE DRIVING WHICH MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL THE STEERING OF THE CAR I HAVE ALMOST RAN INTO OTHER CARS WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS AND STREETS.

TAKATA RECALL, VEHICLE HAS BEEN BURNING THROUGH A LOT OF MOTOR OIL AND THE OTHER DAY I NOTICED SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE MOTOR AND I'M GOING THROUGH ABOUT 3 QUARTS OF MOTOR OIL IN ONE WEEK I AM AFRAID THAT THE MOTOR MAY CATCH ON FIRE. CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING
MY WIFE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WITH SAID CAR SHE WAS SIDE SWIPPED ON PASSENGER SIDE FENDER.. NO FRONT END DAMAGED WAS DONE ONLY DAMAGE WAS THE FENDER AND RIM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE SHE WAS HIT BUT BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
MY NISSAN SENTRA CAR IS OFF THE ROAD, DUE TO AN ACCIDENT THAT WAS TOTALLY LOST.
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

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED INADVERTENTLY. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 245,000.
THIS SPECIFIC 2006 NISSAN SENTRA SE-R SPEC-V AS WELL AS THE 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA BOTH USE THE SAME QR25DE ENGINES WITCH THESE ENGINES ARE HIGHLY PRONE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AT RAPID RATES. MY VEHICLE HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE IT COMSUMES A QT OF OIL EVERY 150 MILES OR SO. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS IT CAN LEAD TO ENGINE FIRES BECAUSE OF A FAILURE TO COOL THE ENGINE WHILE IT IS ON. THIS CAN ALSO PRODUCE A SIGNIFICANTLY LARGE PLOOM OF GREY/BLUE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST BECAUSE OF LARGE AMOUNTS OF OIL BEING BURNED. THIS LARGE CLOUD OF EXHAUST ALMOST ACTS AS A SMOKE SCREEN TO DRIVERS BEHIND ME SOMETIMES BLOCKING VISION BECAUSE IT CAN BE SO LARGE, AS WELL AS ITS TOXIC IMPACTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT. IN CONCLUSION A FIRE HAZARD COUPLED WITH A LARGE TOXIC CLOUD IS A GROUND TO HAVE ALL NISSAN VEHICLES WITH THE QR25DE ENGINES WITH THE PRODUCTION YEARS OF 2006 AND BELOW TO BE RECALLED AS IT CAN BE POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS. THE TOP PART OF THE PHOTO IS PROOF AS IT WAS WRITTEN UP BY A VADEN NISSAN DEALERSHIP MECHANIC.
VEHICLE CONSUMES AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF OIL CREATING A HAZARD FOR BOTH VEHICLE OWNER OF POSSIBLE FIRE AND FOR SURROUNDING DRIVERS DUE TO THICK SMOKE CREATED. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF AND HAS A RECALL CAMPAIGN AVAILABLE IF YOU STILL ARE WITHIN WARRANTEE PERIOD, BUT NOT IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE THAT PERIOD EVEN THOUGH IT'S NO LESS A SAFETY ISSUE.

I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA S 1.8 L. I HAD THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR REPLACED A MONTH AGO DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE LOSING POWER. IT HAPPENS MOSTLY AFTER THE ENGINE HAS REACHED A CERTAIN LEVEL OF HEAT. MY ISSUE RETURNED ONLY A FEW DAYS LATER AFTER THE REPLACEMENT. IT WILL COME CLOSE TO SHUTTING OFF SITTING AT A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT. IT WILL ALSO LOSE ACCELERATION OVER 3000 RPM. IT WILL STOP RUNNING IF LEFT IN IDLE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. I NOTICED A SIMILAR RECALL ON THE 2.5L VERSION OF THE SAME VEHICLE. I CONTACTED NISSAN TO SEE IF IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL AND THEY REFUSED TO COVER IT. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME MODEL AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THEY HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND CPS MANY TIMES TO NO AVAIL. I BELIEVE THERE IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE IN THIS CAR THAT COULD EASILY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY IT ISN'T COVERED UNDER THE RECALL THAT AFFECTS THE SIMILAR 2.5L VERSION OF THE MODEL. MY VEHICLE IS AT 139,890 MILES. IT HAS HAD THE SENSOR REPLACED AT AROUND 75,000 MILES AND AROUND 100,000 MILES.
I HAVE A CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR PROBLEM IN MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA 1.8S WHICH KILLS THE ENGINE. WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE MAY SHUT OFF VERY ABRUPTLY WITHOUT WARNING. EVEN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE MAY CUT OFF. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID MY VIN DIDN'T QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT'S WITHIN THE MANUFACTURE DATE RANGE FOR THE RECALL. I EVEN EMAILED THE NISSAN CORPORATE OFFICE. IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE AND PART OF A RECALL BUT NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I GET IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS KNOWN ISSUE. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT FIXED. WHEN I CALLED THE NISSAN DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS THE 3RD PERSON THAT HAD CALLED THAT DAY WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AND NEITHER OR THE PREVIOUS PEOPLE WERE "PART OF THE RECALL" EITHER. I WONDER HOW MANY ACCIDENTS IT'LL TAKE BEFORE NISSAN WILL ACTUALLY HONOR THE RECALL.
ENGINE STOPPED WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE STILL MOVING BUT NO POWER. TRIED TO RESTART SEVERAL TIMES. AFTER 5 MINS IT STARTED, BUT THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN IN 1 MIN, THE CAR MOVED FEW BLOCKS ONLY AND ENGINE STOPPED AGAIN.

THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V527000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE CONTACT BECAME UNCONSCIOUS AT THAT TIME, AND DID SUSTAIN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT COULD NOT PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS OF THE INCIDENT BECAUSE OF A HEAD INJURY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AFTER THE CRASH, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I OWN A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND WHEN I WAS WAITING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE GEAR SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL AFTER I SLIGHTLY BUMPED AGAINST THE GEAR SHIFT WITH MY ARM. WHEN I CHECKED TO CONFIRM THAT IT COULD BE MOVED WITHOUT ENGAGING THE BUTTON ON THE SIDE OF THE GEAR SHIFT I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT FROM ONE GEAR TO ANOTHER WITHOUT ENGAGING THE BUTTON. IT APPEARED THAT THE VEHICLES GEAR SHIFT WAS ONLY DESIGNED TO CHANGE GEARS WHEN THE BUTTON ON THE SIDE OF THE GEAR SHIFT WAS ENGAGED. THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE POTENTIAL FOR A CRASH IF THE GEAR SHIFT CAN EASILY BE WITHOUT ENGAGING THE BUTTON THAT WAS INTENDED FOR THAT FUNCTION. THE 5-CD DISC PLAYER HAS ALSO STOPPED FUNCTIONING TO THE POINT WHERE I AM UNABLE TO REMOVE THE CDS THAT ARE LODGED INSIDE THE PLAYER. I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT THEY HAVE MELTED INSIDE AND THAT IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE. I HAVE NOT NOTIFIED THE DEALER OR MANUFACTURER OF THESE FAILURES AT THIS TIME.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 60MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA ( SE 1.8) GAVE A SMALL JERK AND THE RPMS REDUCED DRASTICALLY. I ALSO BEGAN TO LOSE MY STEERING AND NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SHOULDER, I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT WAS FINE. THEN LATER THAT NIGHT AS I WAS SITTING WITH THE ENGINE AT AN IDLE, THE CAR SUDDENLY DIED BUT IT DID STARTED BACK UP. I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO MY MECHANIC AND IT DIED 2 OR 3 TIMES WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. THE MECHANIC COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON AND THE CAR DIDN'T THROW A CODE. I BROUGHT THE CAR HOME AND PARKED IT BECAUSE I DO NOT FEELING SAFE DRIVING IT. TONIGHT I SAT IN THE CAR AND TURNED IT ON TO SEE IF IT WOULD START. IT DID START BUT EVERY SECOND OR SO THERE WAS AN LOUD CLICK FROM THE ENGINE AFTER WHICH THE CAR WOULD GIVE A SIZEABLE SHUDDER. ALSO THE RPMS REV'D WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL OR PARK. THEY WOULD DIP WHEN THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. I SEE ON THE WEB THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE CAMSHAFT AND CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. I HAVEN'T CALLED NISSAN YET BUT AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE I HAVE NO HOPE THEY WILL HONOR THE RECALL AS MY VIN ISN'T INCLUDED. I HOPE SOMEONE AT THE NHTSA FORCES AN EXPANDED RECALL. IT ISN'T RIGHT THAT THOSE OF US HAVING PROBLEMS HAVE TO PAY FOR A KNOWN PROBLEM. IN ADDITION, MY CAR IS NOW SITTING BECAUSE I'M SCARED OF DRIVING IT JUST TO HAVE IT DIE, CAUSING ME TO LOSE STEERING AND POSSIBLY BRAKES. I WILL LET MY MECHANIC KNOW ABOUT THE RECALL TO SEE IF IN THE END, MY CAR IS ALSO ONE OF THOSE UNLUCKY ONES THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE BUT DON'T FALL UNDER THE RECALL.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY LOST ENGINE POWER AND CAR SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT RESTART IMMEDIATELY. AFTER WAITING APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES THE CAR RESTARTED. THERE WERE A TOTAL OF THREE DIFFERENT INCIDENTS ( SO FAR) OF THIS HAPPENING TO MY CAR. I HAD IT CHECKED BY A MECHANIC AND NOTHING COULD BE FOUND TO BE WRONG ( NO CODES CAME UP). I DID SOME RESEARCH AND DISCOVERED THAT NISSAN HAD RECALLED VEHICLES FOR THE SAME ISSUE ( CAM SHAFT AND CRANK SENSORS OVERHEATING) . I CALLED NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THAT EVEN THOUGH MY VEHICLE APPEARS TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE IT IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. HOWEVER, IT IS PART OF THE MASSIVE AIRBAG RECALL WHICH MAKES THIS EVEN MORE OF A DEADLY CONCERN..NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL ALL VIN NUMBERS THAT ARE HAVING THIS SHUT OFF ISSUE. WHEN I CALLED THEY WERE VERY STANDOFFISH AND UNHELPFUL. ON 2006 NISSAN SENTRA SE-R SPEC V, I NOTICED A DROP IN POWER AND EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. UPON PULLING THE HEADER I NOTICED PIECES OF THE CATALYST BROKEN UP IN THE EXHAUST PIPE. THE EGR SYSTEM MAY HAVE SUCKED IN PIECES OF DEBRIS DAMAGING THE CYLINDER WALLS.

MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA HAS DELAYED CRANKING WHEN TRYING TO START, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS HOT OUTSIDE. TRIED A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT MECHANICS BUT COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN APRIL 2006, AND STARTED HAVING PROBLEM SINCE 2009/2010 WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES, INCLUDING ALL BELTS NEEDING REPLACEMENT AT 15,000 MILES THAT DEALER CHARGED FOR NON-WARRANTY REPAIR. REGIONAL RECALL CAMPAIGN FOR AIR BAG INFLATOR. THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED IN NORTH CAROLINA HAS BEEN IN USED IN EXCLUSIVITY IN FLORIDA, HOWEVER NISSAN REFUSES TO INCLUDE IT IN THE RECALL. SINCE IT HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO THE HIGH LEVEL OF HUMIDITY, THAT THE RECALL IS FOR I AM VERY CONCERNED. *TR
THE LINING IN THE TRUNK IS DECOMPOSING CREATING AN ODOR THAT IS SMELLED IN THE DRIVER/PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE CAR. I AS THE ONLY DRIVER HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH XYLENE EXPOSURE. THIS IS THE MOST LIKELY AND PROBABLY ONLY SOURCE OF XYLENE IN MY LIFE.
I WAS GOING BACK TO WORK AFTER EATING LUNCH DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH AND ENGINE JUST STALLED AND QUITE RUNNING, THIS HAPPENED IN A WORK ZONE WHERE THEY WERE REPAIRING ROAD. I TRIED TO START CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START, HAD TO WAIT ABOUT 10 MINUTES THEN CAR STARTED BUT WHEN I STARTED TO DRIVE, IT STALLED AGAIN AND DID IT TWICE UNTIL I GOT IT RUNNING LONG ENOUGH TO GET IT TO SHELL STATION. WHEN WE GOT IT TO THE MECHANIC SHOP THEY SAID IT WAS THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR AND THE CAM SENSOR THAT HAS FAILED. THEY TOLD US THAT NISSAN CARS ARE BAD ABOUT DOING THIS. I WAS IN A DANGEROUS SPOT WITH LOTS OF TRAFFIC AND ROAD CONSTRUCTION FOR THIS TO HAPPEN AND THERE COULD OF BEEN A BAD ACCIDENT OVER THIS BUT THANKFULLY THERE WAS NOT. ALSO ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR IS IT HAS DELAYED CRANKING WHEN TRYING TO START CAR IN SUMMERTIME WHEN IT IS HOT OUTSIDE. TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON I-10 BETWEEN COTTONDALE, FL AND FT. WALTON, FL IN TRAFFIC, THE LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. HIGHWAY TYPE-INTERSTATE- 4 LANE DIVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE LEFT LANE. IT WENT INTO THE MEDIAN, CAME BACK INTO THE MAIN TRAVEL LANES BETWEEN TRAFFIC, ROTATED 360 DEGREES, THEN WENT OFF OF THE MAIN TRAVEL LANES ONTO THE RIGHT SHOULDER WHERE IT CAME TO A STOP. EVEN THOUGH THIS OCCURRED IN TRAFFIC, THERE WAS NO IMPACT AND NO INJURY TO THE OCCUPANTS. ONE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE IS COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE, AND THE OTHER SIDEWALL PARTIALLY SEPARATED. THE AIR PRESSURE ON THE TIRE WAS CHECKED JUST PRIOR TO BEGINNING THE TRIP. THE CONDITION OF THE TIRE WAS CHECKED PRIOR TO THE TRIP AND THE TIRE APPEARED TO BE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE TREAD AND GENERAL CONDITION OF THE FAILED TIRE SHOW NO EVIDENCE OF PRIOR DAMAGE OR PUNCTURE. THE 2 REAR TIRES HAD BEEN REPLACED IN 2010 OR 2011. THE SPARE WAS INSTALLED AND THE CAR WAS DRIVEN TO THE NEAREST SERVICE CENTER WHERE ALL 4 TIRES WERE REPLACED. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE RIM. THE FAILED TIRE IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. *TR
