I TOOK MY 2007 NISSAN SENTRA TO THE COSTCO ON 7 JANUARY 2010 IN ORDER TO HAVE 4 NEW TIRES PUT ON THE CAR. I WAS ADVISED THAT TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR PACKS FOR EACH TIRE BE REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME THE TIRES WERE BEING REPLACED AND THAT THE COST WOULD $2.00 PER TIRE. WHEN THE TIRE TECHNICIANS ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE THE FIRST SERVICE PACK THEY FOUND THAT THE SENSOR NUT ON THE REAR LEFT TIRE HAD SEIZED UP. THEY THEN FOUND THAT THE SENSOR NUT ON THE FRONT LEFT TIRE HAD ALSO SEIZED UP AND THE TIRE SENSOR CRACKED. FOR THIS REASON IT HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH A RUBBER STEM. IT WAS REPORTED TO ME THAT THIS WAS COMMON WITH NISSANS BECAUSE THEY ARE PUT ON TOO TIGHTLY BY THE FACTORY WHEN THE NISSANS ARE MANUFACTURED. AFTER HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRE SENSORS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR, THE COSTCO TECHNICIANS DIDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE TRYING TO REPLACE THE ONES ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR. I WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY NISSAN DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRE SENSORS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND THAT IT WOULD BE $650 TO REPLACE ALL FOUR TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS. I REFUSED TO PAY FOR THEM TO BE REPLACED AFTER BEING TOLD THAT THIS IS A SPECIFIC PROBLEM THAT NISSANS ARE HAVING. SO NOW THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON ALL OF THE TIME DUE TO ONE OF THE TIRE SENSORS BEING REPLACED BY A RUBBER STEM. SO IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH ANY OF THE FOUR TIRES I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TELL IT VIA THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT SINCE IT STAYS LIT ALL OF THE TIME. I ASKED AT COSTCO IF THEY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ANY OTHER MAKES OF CARS WHEN IT COMES TO THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT IS ONLY WITH NISSANS. SO OBVIOUSLY I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM AND IT MIGHT WARRANT AN INVESTIGATION AND POSSIBLE RECALL - OUT OF CONSIDERATION OF THE COST ($650 TO REPLACE 4 TIRES PRESSURE SENSORS) AS WELL AS THE SAFETY CONCERN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. WHEN THE ENGINE WAS RESTARTED THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED THIRTY TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
THE TIRE SENSOR LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND I WOULD HAVE TO PUT AIR IN THE TIRES EVERY OTHER DAY. WITH ONLY 40,000 MILES AND THEY ARE RATED FOR 80,000, I HAD THEM CHECKED BY A TIRE STORE. THEY FOUND A BUBBLE ON THE INSIDE & OUTSIDE WALL. THEY ALSO FOUND WHAT APPEARED TO BE SLASH MARKS ON THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE. WOULD NOT LET ME DRIVE AWAY WITHOUT SIGNING A RELEASE STATING THAT I WAS AWARE OF THE CONDITION. NISSAN DEALER IS NO HELP, THEY JUST DIRECT ME TO BRIDGESTONE. TIRES WERE ROTATED ON SCHEDULE BY THE DEALER. *TR
MY 2007 NISSAN SENTRA WAS PULLING HARD TO THE LEFT WITH BRAND NEW TIRES JUST INSTALLED THE DAY BEFORE, SO I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER TWO ALIGNMENTS HAD BEEN PERFORMED WITH NO CHANGE IN THE HANDLING OR PULLING OF THE CAR. IT WAS DIVULGED AFTER A DAY OF DIAGNOSTICS THAT THE CAR HAD A BENT REAR AXLE REPLACED IN APRIL OF 2009. FROM THE FACTORY IT WAS CONVEYED THAT MY PARTICULAR MODEL HAD THE WRONG AXLE INSTALLED ON IT AND MANY OTHER VEHICLES FROM MY MODEL YEAR WERE AFFECTED. THE CAR LEFT THE SHOP AND WAS NO LONGER PULLING. GRADUALLY MY ALIGNMENT BEGAN TO WORSEN AND SINCE THE INCIDENT I HAD IT REDONE 4 TIMES SINCE APRIL. THE FINAL TIME I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP TO KEEP THE CAR BECAUSE SOMETHING MUST BE WRONG AND THEY DID TWO DAYS WORTH OF TEST TO RULE OUT TIRE WEAR AND OTHER PROBLEMS. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE NEW REAR AXLE WAS BENT AT A 20 DEGREE ANGLE CAUSING THE PULL. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO MY LOW PROFILE TIRES OR RIMS NOR A COLLISION THAT WOULD CAUSE THE DAMAGE AS THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO TESTIFY TOO YET THE AXLE STILL BENT. IT WAS NOT COVERED THIS TIME AND THE PULL WAS DANGEROUS STILL TO THE LEFT. THIS MUST BE A DEFECT WITH THIS MODEL YEAR. *TR
TOOK 2007 NISSAN MODEL S IN FOR ALIGNMENT. THE FRONT TIRES WERE IN REALIGNED INTO SPECIFICATIONS SET BY MANUFACTURER. I WAS INFORMED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT NISSAN BURDICK SYRACUSE NY THAT THERE THE REAR WHEELS WERE OUT OF SPEC AND COULD NOT BE BROUGHT BACK INTO SPECIFICATION. INFORMED BY TECHNICIAN THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. I WAS FORCED TO PURCHASE NEW TIRES AFTER ONLY 26K MILES ON THE CAR. I OWN A 2007 NISSAN SENTRA - WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP THE POWER STEERING FAILED - THE DASH LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND THE CAR COULD NOT BE DRIVEN BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF POWER STEERING. I TOOK IT TO DON WILLIAMSON NISSAN AND THEY ERASED THE FAILURE LIGHT AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN (3RD TIME) - NOW THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, THE PS LIGHT HAS COME ON APPROXIMATELY 7 TIMES WITHIN THE LAST WEEK, THE POWER STEERING DOES NOT ENGAGE WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED ON - I TURN THE CAR ON AND OFF APPROXIMATELY 6 TIMES AND THE PS DOES ENGAGE, HOWEVER NOW THE GEARS WITHIN THE STEERING COLUMN GRIND FOR APPROX 1MINUTE BEFORE THE CAR OPERATES. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE ABOVE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND INITIALLY THEY TOLD ME NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT AGAIN - I INSISTED TWICE THAT THEY READ THE COMPUTER WARNING SYSTEM AND THEY FINALLY DID READ IT AND DETERMINED THAT THE POWER STEERING IS ACTUALLY ELECTRIC AND THE ELECTRIC MOTOR IS FAULTY. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT UNLESS I PAY FOR $600 IN PARTS UP FRONT AND LABOR FOR A CHARGE OF $910 - THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR. THE MOTOR WAS FAULTY FROM THE BEGINNING. IF THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING, A MAJOR ACCIDENT IS LIKELY TO OCCUR. *TR
I HAD A ACCIDENT DRIVING DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY AND I WAS STRUCK FROM BEHIND FORCING MY CAR INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE AIR BAG NEVER IMPLODED.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT A HIGH SPEED ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE STRUCK A FENCE, CRASHED INTO AND REMOVED THE SIDE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE, AND DROVE OVER A SIDEWALK. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT PUMPED THE BRAKES, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN AND THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND ENGAGED THE PARKING BRAKE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY NEVER HEARD OF THIS TYPE OF FAILURE AND WAS VERY INTERESTED IN THE MATTER BECAUSE THEY WANT THEIR PRODUCTS TO BE SAFE. THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE; HOWEVER, NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V311000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:MASTER CYLINDER) WAS REFERENCED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE AUTO BODY SHOP. THE DEALER STATED THAT NISSAN WILL NOT GET INVOLVED WITH INSPECTING THE VEHICLE. BOTH SIDE MIRRORS WERE REMOVED, THE WIDNSHIELD WAS DAMAGED, AND THE FRONT FENDER WAS HANGING. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 25,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE INDEPENDENTLY WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD AGAIN NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
WAS WASHING MY CAR AND NOTICE THAT ALL 4 TIRES HAVE CRACKS ALL THE WAY AROUND THE TIRE. I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN SENTRA WITH ONLY 12,000 MILES, I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN DEC. 2006. I WENT TO NISSAN DEALER, THEY SAID IT IS JUST DRY ROT, BUT IT NOTHING THEY CAN DO EVENTUALLY I'LL NEED NEW TIRES. WENT TO FIRESTONE/BRIDGESTONE AND THEY SEEM UNCONCERN, JUST THAT IT IS THE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH WE LIVE WITH THE COLD THEN HEAT WHICH DRY THE TIRES OUT. MY CONCERN IS I ONLY HAD THESE TIRES JUST A LITTLE OVER 2 YEARS AND NOT 4 OR 5 THE LIFE TIME OF THESE TIRES, THEY SHOULD NO BE CRACKING LIKE THIS. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER, I FEEL THAT HAVE BEEN SOLD A CAR WITH BAD TIRES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. SHE ALSO NOTICED THAT THE SEAT BELT WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL. SHE IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE DEALER TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 21,239.
VEHICLE: NISSAN SENTRA 2007 PROBLEM: WHEN STARTING THE CAR, THE POWER STEERING MAY FAIL, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STEER THE CAR. STOPPING AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE WILL TEMPORARILY FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT YET EXPERIENCED LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING AND HOPE I NEVER DO. *TR
DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, I WAS TOLD I NEEDED 4 NEW TIRES AND 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT BY THE DEALER. THE ESTIMATED COST WAS INCREDIBLY HIGH. I ONLY HAD 35,000 MILES ON THE CAR. I FOUND A GOOD MASTER MECHANIC OF OVER 20 YEARS, BOUGHT NEW TIRES AND HAD ALIGNMENT DONE. I WAS TOLD THE REAR WHEELS ARE BOWED IN AND MANUFACTURER DOES NOT CALL FOR ANY ADJUSTMENT. HE SHOWED ME THE BACK OF THE CAR VISIBLE TURNING IN SLIGHTLY ON EACH SIDE AND ON THE TOP. ONLY WAY TO BE THAT WAY WOULD BE IF THE BAR WAS BENT. SUGGESTED I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. DEALER SAID THE BACK WHEELS PASSED BUT ARE NOT AT 0 AS THE FRONT WAS. IT WAS -15 WHICH IS CONSIDERED PASSING. THEIR MECHANIC TOLD ME THE MANUFACTURER DESIGNED THIS CAR TO BE LIKE THAT IN THE REAR SO WHEN YOU HAVE PASSENGERS IN THE BACK OR WEIGHT IN YOUR TRUNK THE WHEELS WOULD THEN BE STRAIGHT! WHAT IF YOU ARE LIKE ME AND HARDLY EVER HAVE ANY PASSENGERS IN THE BACK SEAT NOR WEIGHT OF ANY KIND IN THE TRUNK? NOW THE TIRES ARE TO WEAR OUT PREMATURELY? ALSO MY CAR IN FRONT WAS WAY OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND TIRES WERE PREMATURELY WORN. DEALER TOLD ME I WAS LUCKY TO GET 35,000 MILES OUT OF MY CAR THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ONLY GET 16,000. I AM STILL PURSUING THIS MATTER AND THIS IS STEP ONE ABOVE THE DEALERSHIP AND THERE ARE OTHER ISSUES ALSO WHICH I WILL POST IN THE APPROPRIATE CATEGORY. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT IS EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE FRONT DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER SYSTEM. SHE STATED THAT THE DEFOGGER ONLY ACTIVATES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND ONLY DEFROSTS THE MIDDLE OF THE GLASS. IT DOES NOT OPERATE ON THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER SIDES OF THE WINDSHIELD. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THIS FAILURE AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS WORKING PROPERLY. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE DEFROSTER WOULD EVENTUALLY WORK ITSELF OVER THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD; THEREFORE, THERE WAS NOTHING FOR THEM TO REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND INFORMED THEM THAT THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE AN ABS RECALL AND IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. ON NOVEMBER 5, 2008, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO STOP. SHE SWERVED AND CRASHED THE FRONT END INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. TWO OCCUPANTS WERE INJURED. A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V311000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC: FOUNDATION COMPONENTS: MASTER CYLINDER). THE MANUFACTURER WILL SEND AN INVESTIGATOR TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 1,063. UPDATED 12/11/08 *BF UPDATED 12/11/08.
THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, BUT IT WAS A SEPARATE NOISE FROM THAT OF THE ENGINE. IT WAS LIKE A RATTLING/LOUD SOUND. EVERY TIME I WOULD TURN TO THE RIGHT AND ALSO REVERSE, THE SOUND WAS LOUDER. I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN TECHNICIAN AND THEY FOUND THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS BROKEN. AFTER REPLACING THE MOTOR MOUNT THE VEHICLE SOUND JUST LIKE NEW (JUST HOW IS WAS SUPPOSED TO SOUND). *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH ON A TWO LANE ROAD, THE CONTACT STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. HE SUSTAINED A SPRAINED NECK AND BRUISES, BUT THERE WERE NO SERIOUS INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SERVICE SHOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED DUE TO THE AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOYING IF THE CRASH HAD BEEN MORE SEVERE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 6,166.
COOLANT LEAK NOTICED. TOOK TO DEALER DISCOVER A CRACKED BLOCK. *TR
WE ARE EXPERIENCING SEVERE REAR TIRE WEAR. DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE PROBLEM UNTIL THE THIRD VISIT WHEN WE WENT WITH HANDFUL OF TESTIMONIALS( PRINTED FROM CAR REVIEW SITES ON INTERNET) FROM OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR NISSAN 2007-2008 SENTRA'S. ON OUR THIRD VISIT DEALERSHIP MANAGER SAID HE WOULD CALL NISSAN CORP. AND PERSONALLY SPEAK TO REGIONAL MANAGER ON OUR BEHALF. WE ALSO CALLED NISSAN CORP. AND FILED A COMPLAINT ON 06/17/08. RM CALLED US ON 6/18/08 AND LEFT MESSAGE SIDESTEPPING REAR END ISSUE BY STATING TO US THAT TIRES ARE NOT UNDER WARRANTY BY NISSAN. ??. WE RETURNED CALL TO REGIONAL MANAGER TELLING HER THAT TIRES AT THIS TIME ARE NOT THE ISSUE, IT IS A DEFECTIVE REAR END, SUSPENSION OR ENGINEERING. WE JUST WANT THE PROBLEM CORRECTED. *TR
A MANUFACTURING DEFECT OF THE REAR CROSS MEMBER DOES NOT ALLOW ADJUSTMENT FOR TOE ALIGNMENT WHICH RESULTED IN EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR CREATING AN INCALCULABLE RISK OF FAILURE. *TR
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING A 2007 NISSAN SENTRA AND SHE NEEDED TO BRAKE SUDDENLY. ACCORDING TO THE POLICE REPORT SHE LEFT 74 FEET OF SKID MARKS AND WAS STILL UNABLE TO STOP. THE NISSAN WAS TOTALED. *TR

FINALLY GIVEN AN INVOICE INDICATING THE TECH HEARD THE NOISE AGAIN AFTER SEVERAL REPAIRS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THEY CANNOT REPAIR AND THE REASON FOR A RECALL ON THE ALTIMA ON JULY 28, 2008 - 08V363000 - SUSPENSION. HE CURRENTLY MUST AVOID CRASHING INTO OTHER VEHICLES AS A RESULT OF THE BRAKE FAILURE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT TO GO TO THE ORIGINAL DEALER TO RECEIVE ANY REPAIRS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000. MY 2007 NISSAN SENTRA WAS PURCHASED NEW IN DECEMBER 2006. AFTER HAVING TO BRING IN MY CAR ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FOR MINOR GLITCHES (A REAR-VIEW MIRROR FALLING OFF, ONE OF THE SUN-VISORS FELL OFF), I FINALLY HAD A BIG PROBLEM. IN FEBRUARY 2008, WHILE DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT, FLAT ROAD, WHILE APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION I PREPARED TO STOP MY VEHICLE FOR A LIGHT. I WAS ABOUT 4 CAR LENGTHS BEHIND THE CAR AHEAD OF ME, AND WAS ONLY TRAVELING ABOUT 35 MPH. WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL SOFTLY, NOTHING HAPPENED. THEN I PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN ALL THE WAY, AND STILL NOTHING HAPPENED. I HAD A WIDE SHOULDER TO MY RIGHT, SO I TRIED TURNING THE WHEEL AND IT HAD LOCKED UP. AT THIS POINT, I MADE CONTACT WITH THE CAR AHEAD OF ME. MY CAR WAS IMMEDIATELY TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP AND HAD THE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED, AS WELL AS THE HOOD OF THE CAR AND VARIOUS OTHER PARTS NEEDING TO BE FIXED. THE EMOTIONAL TRAUMA FROM THE ACCIDENT WAS DIFFICULT AND THOUGH THERE WERE NO ESTABLISHED INJURIES, I DID EXPERIENCE SLIGHT NECK AND BACK PAIN AFTERWARD. I WAS FOUND TO BE AT FAULT FOR THE ACCIDENT, DESPITE THE BRAKE AND STEERING WHEEL MALFUNCTION, AND SUBSEQUENTLY HAD A LARGE INCREASE IN MY CAR INSURANCE PREMIUM. A NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE WAS FLOWN OUT AT MY REQUEST TO RUN DIAGNOSTICS ON THE SENTRA BUT SINCE THE STEERING COLUMN WAS REPLACED AS WELL AS OTHER REPLACED/FIXED PARTS, NO INFORMATION WAS FOUND. I AM 100% POSITIVE THAT THE ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED DUE TO A MECHANICAL FAILURE AND WOULD WARN AGAINST PURCHASING A NISSAN SENTRA. REAR TIRES ARE WORNOUT @ 11,000 MILES. NISSAN REPLACED 2 REAR AXLES AND REAR SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY AND 2 REAR TIRES. THEY CHANGED THE ALIGNMENT SPECS AND SAID IT WAS FINE. CONSUMER AFFAIRS DIDN'T ANSWER CALLS FOR 2 MONTHS. INSPECTOR CHECKED THE REAR TIRES THAT HAD JUST BEEN ROTATED FROM THE FRONT AND SAID THEY DIDN'T SHOW SIGNS OUT BEING OUT OF ALIGNMENT. THEY WOULDN'T CONTACT THEIR FACTORY IN TN / SAFETY ENGINEER WHO HAD REQUESTED THE ORIGINAL REAR TIRES BE SHIPPED TO THEM. A SIMILAR VEHICLE WAS CHECKED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND IT TOO HAD ALIGNMENT SPECS THAT WERE OUT AND SIMILAR TO OUR VEHICLE. WE HAVE 24000 MILES AND READY FOR A SECOND SET OF TIRES. I HAD TO ARGUE WITH THE SERVICE CLERK TO DEMAND THAT THE VEHICLE BE CHECKED, AFTER TALKING WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AND THE SALES MANAGER THEY AGREED TO KEEP THE VEHICLE OVERNIGHT. THE NEXT DAY I RECEIVE A CALL STATING THAT A PROBLEM WAS FOUND AND THE PART HAD TO BE ORDERED. I HAVE NOT BEEN TOLD WHAT THE PART IS. I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE AUTO. THEY ARE STILL WAITING FOR PART . *NM
