CAR IS NOT SHIFTING INTO GEARS RIGHT RPM IS EVERYWHERE AN HITING SHIFTS REALLY HARD
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON WHETHER ITS IN PARK OR I'M DRIVING IT EVEN WHEN SEATBELT IS BEING USED.
THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 60,962 THE CAR STARTED STARTED SHAKING, JERKING AND LOOSING SPEED AND THEN IT CUTTING OFF AT THE STOP LIGHT. THE CAR CUT OFF ON ME GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY I WAS AT A LIGHT & THEN I WAS UNABLE TO PROCEED WITH TRAFFIC. I TURNED ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS & TURNED THE HEAT OFF WAITED FOR THE CAR TO MAYBE COOL OFF I REALLY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG & THEN I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR & DRIVE HOME I TOOK THE CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALER SHIP TWICE & THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE AIRFLOW FILTER AFTER THEY CLAIMED IT WAS FIXED IT HAPPENED AGAIN I CONTACTED NISSAN AGAIN AND THEY FINALLY ADMITTED THAT THIS CAR HAS A BAD TRANSMISSION. THERE IS NO WAY A CAR UNDER 100K MILES SHOULD HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION I BOUGHT THIS CAR @ 26K IN 2016. NOW IS COSTING ME OVER 3,000.00 TO FIX MY CAR . NISSAN IS WELL AWARE OF THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE ON THESE CARS AND INSTEAD OF RECALLING THEM THEY CONTINUE TO ALLOW THESE CARS TO BE SOLD OVER & OVER AGAIN AGAIN. I WANT A COMPLETE INVESTIGATION INTO THE ON GOING PROBLEMS WITH THE 2013 NISSAN SENTRA'S. I HAVE LOST POWER ON THE HIGHWAY AS WELL AS MAIN ROADS STOPPED AT LIGHTS HOLDING UP TRAFFIC IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS I HAD THIS CAR TOWED IN TOTAL OF 5 TIMES IN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS.
I GOTTEN THIS VEHICLE FROM CARMAX AT 53000 MILES MAY OF 2018. I TOOK IT BACK 2 DAYS LATER WITH THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING THEY TOLD ME OH ITS FINE. I EVEN HAD A RENTAL FOR A DAY. NOW ITS JANUARY 2019 AND AT 74000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND JOLTING SOMETIMES NOT GIVING POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. MY CAR COMES UP AS NOT A LEMON CAR BUT I WENT TO A MECHANIC NEAR ME HE TOLD ME HE USE TO WORK FOR NISSAN AND BY EVEN TESTING MY CAR MY TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND IT WILL START AGAIN IN THE NEXT 6 MONTHS AFTER REPAIR. MY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO BE DRIVING NOR WILL I PAY FOR A VEHICLE THAT WONT GET MY BILLS PAID.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES TO STOP AND I HAD TO PRESS THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO ACTIVATE THE BREAKS. THIS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES ON MY WAY HOME. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY EVENTUALLY DIAGNOSED THE CAR WITH A CRACKED MASTER CYLINDER. THE CAR IS ROUGHLY 5 YEARS OLD AND THIS IS THE SECOND MAJOR PROBLEM THAT IT HAS HAD WITHIN THE MONTH - 1ST THE TRANSMISSION AND THEN 2ND THE BREAKS. THESE ARE 2 OF THE 3 MOST FREQUENTLY REPORTED PROBLEMS WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL. THE CAR IS UNDER 60K MILES. ACCORDING TO MOST SOURCES, THE MASTER CYLINDER IS SUPPOSED TO LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR. NISSAN REPORTS THAT NO RECALL/CUSTOMER EDUCATION HAS BEEN DONE FOR EITHER OF THOSE THINGS FOR THAT MAKE/MODEL. IT SEEMS IRRESPONSIBLE OF THEM.
NISSAN 2013 SENTRA HAS A COMPUTER MALFUNCTION. HAVE TO STICK SOMETHING INTO THE GEAR SHIFT IN ORDER TO DRIVE. CAR STUTTERS WHEN PRESSING THE GAS AS IF IT'S SWITCHIBG GEARS. ALSO, THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE MIDDLE SEATBELT I GOT FIXED. SEAT BELT WAS USED ONCE PROPERLY AND HAS BEEN LOCKED EVER SINCE. NISSAN WILL NOT FIX THESE MALFUNCTIONS UNLESS I HAVE A LETTER ABOUT THESE ISSUES. THESE ISSUES ARE KNOWN RECALLS FROM PREVIOUS NISSAN SENTRA OWNERS AS WELL.
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WAITING AND SUDDENLY MY CAR TURNED OFF.. IT TURNED RIGHT ON. THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST 4 MONTHS.
I ALMOST DIED TODAY ON A BUSY FAST STREET MY CAR TURNED OFF WHILE IT WAS ON AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO PRESS THE BRAKES AND MY STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED IF IT WASN'T FOR MY EMERGENCY BRAKE WORKING AND THEY'RE BEING A PART OF THE LANE THAT WAS VACANT AT THAT SECOND I WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD THERE WERE CARS FLYING THROUGH THAT STREET. THIS IS A COMPLETE HAZARD TO MY LIFE AND TO MY FAMILY'S LIFE AND TO THE LIVES OF OTHER CIVILIANS DRIVING. NISSAN WILL HAVE A SERIOUS LAWSUIT ON YOUR HANDS IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME AND MY FAMILY BECOMES AWARE THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRIC ISSUE. I'M GOING TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP BUT IF THEY CLAIM THAT IT IS NOT FIXABLE OR THEY MAKEUP SOME ISSUE WITH MY CAR THAT WAS TRULY ISN'T THE PROBLEM AND THEY'RE ONLY DOING THAT BECAUSE THEY CAN'T FIND THE ACTUAL PROBLEM THAT CAUSED THAT STALL IN THOSE MATTER OF SECONDS I WILL BE SEEKING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST NISSAN. BOUGHT CERTIFIED USED WITH CARFAX IN FEB. 2018. CAR SHUDDERING/JERKING/GRINDING WHEN ACCELERATING, STARTING AT AROUND 70,000 MILES. I ASKED NISSAN ABOUT THIS AND THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME I WILL NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION - AT 79,000! HAPPY I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED POWER-TRAIN WARRANTY, SO HOPEFULLY IT IS COVERED. SHOULD'VE BOUGHT ANOTHER HONDA OR TOYOTA.
AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS LIT WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED ON. MECHANIC SAYS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH OCS SENSORS AND AIRBAG DIAGNOSTIC UNIT.
WE BOUGHT OUR DAUGHTER A NEW 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. IT WAS SERVICED REGULARLY AT OUR NISSAN DEALER. ON OCTOBER 18TH, MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING HOME FROM A FRIEND'S HOUSE ON LOCAL STREETS. SHE SMELLED FUEL, THE CONTROLS ON THE DASHBOARD WENT HAYWIRE AND ALL SYSTEMS ON THE CAR STARTED SHUTTING DOWN. SHE PULLED THE CAR OVER, PUT HER EMERGENCY BRAKES ON, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND GOT AWAY FROM THE CAR. SHE WATCHED AS HER CAR WENT ON FIRE. WE NOTIFIED NISSAN AND THEY TOLD US THAT BECAUSE THEY FOUND NO MANUFACTURING DEFECTS, THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO. HOW DOES A 5 YEAR, WELL MAINTAINED, 48,000 MILE CAR JUST SET FIRE WITH NO WARNING? HOW WAS THIS VEHICLE NOT PART OF THE MARCH 2013 RECALL? HOW CAN NISSAN NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS? MOST IMPORTANTLY, HOW CAN THEY NOT GIVE US AN ANSWER TO WHY MY DAUGHTER'S CAR SET ON FIRE? IS THIS USUAL? IS THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF A CAR ONLY 5 YEARS NOW? OUR OTHER CAR IS A 2014 NISSAN SENTRA (ALSO MANUFACTURED AT THE SAME PLANT AS THE OTHER NISSAN SENTRA, A YEAR LATER). WE PURCHASED IT USED TWO MONTHS AGO FROM OUR LOCAL DEALER AND ALREADY HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. HOW COME THESE MANUFACTURER'S ARE GETTING AWAY WITH PUTTING OUT FAULTY PRODUCTS AND NOT BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE WHEN THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR? BESIDES NOT HAVING A CAR FOR 8 WEEKS, MY DAUGHTER SUFFERS FROM ANXIETY WHEN SHE'S IN A CAR AND HAS NIGHTMARES ABOUT BEING IN A BURNING CAR. THIS IS SO TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. CVT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. SHUTTERING, DELAYS WHEN SHIFTING, RPM CONSTANTLY BOUNCING UP AND DOWN WHEN DRIVING, ENGINE REVVING SUDDENLY WITHOUT GAS BEING APPLIED. VEHICLE JUST GOT TO 71,000 MILES
WHILE DRIVING, MY VEHICLE FREQUENTLY VIBRATES AND CATCHES WHENEVER I ACCELERATE. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THE TRANSMISSION OF MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, THOUGH IT IS UNDER 100,000 MILES AND I HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR 5 YEARS. I WAS ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE IT IS NO LONGER SAFE TO BE ON THE ROAD.
AS I WAS GOING 60MPH ON A HIGHWAY WITH HIGH TRAFFIC MY CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN NO MATTER HOW MUCH I STEPPED ON THE PEDDLE. I MADE IT TO THE SHOULDER AND ATTEMPTED TO MAKE THE CAR GO BY SHIFTING THE GEARS. AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO MOVE. ANOTHER TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS CROSSING INTERSECTION SPEED LIMIT IS 35. IT STARTED TO LOOSE POWER AND I BARLEY MADE IT PAST THE INTERSECTION. MY NISSAN DEALER STATES IT ISN'T MY TRANSMISSION. I HAVE READY MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS LIKE MINE ABOUT NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION. IT'S DANGEROUS TO BE DRIVING A CAR LIKE THAT.
TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 85,000. I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS GAINING SPEED; THEN THE CAR WOULD START SHAKING, JERKING AND PAUSING. I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 152 ON MY WAY TO SAN JOSE, CA WHEN MY CAR STARTED LOSING SPEED AND SHAKING. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IT WAS TERRIFYING. I MADE IT TO WORK AND STARTED DOING RESEARCH ABOUT WHAT MY CAR WAS DOING AND FIND OUT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN TECH. TOLD ME TO CALL NISSAN USA, SO I DID. THEY GAVE A CASE NUMBER AND THEY COMMUNICATED WITH THE DEALER TO CONFIRM THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED. NISSAN AGREED TO PAY PART OF THE COST TO REPAIR TRANSMISSION EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS TOO SOON FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. NISSAN IS CHARGING ME 2000 TO FIX IT. I HONESTLY THINK NISSAN SHOULD START REPAIRING ALL TRANSMISSIONS WITHOUT A COST FOR CUSTOMERS. THEY KNOW THEIR TRANSMISSIONS HAVE DEFECTS. I WILL TRY TO SELL MY CAR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS THEY ARE ONLY GOING TO GIVE ME ONE YEAR WARRANTY.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE ENGINE REV UP HIGH. I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND STOPPED THE CAR AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BUT JUST REV UP HIGH WHILE IN DRIVE. I CUT THE CAR OFF AND TRIED TO CUT THE CAR BACK ON AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START BACK UP. IT JUST MADE A SPINNING SOUND BUT WOULD NOT START BACK UP.
STALLING WHEN I AM DRIVING ALONG THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE TO TAP THE GAS TWICE FOR IT TO START BACK.
CAR'S TRANSMISSION BEGAN FAILING WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHTS. CAR WOULD SLOW AND NOT ACCELERATE WHEN NEEDED. CAR NEEDED TRANSMISSION REPLACED.
TRANSMISSION BLEW AT 39,000 MILES. DEALER SAID WE NEEDED AN ABS SENSOR, COST TO US 600.00 SO THEY REPLACED. DEALER DROVE CAR AND CAR DIDN'T EVEN MAKE IT OUT OF THEIR LOT. TRANSMISSION FAILURE. 5 YEAR 60,000 MILE WARRANTY EXPIRED MARCH 2018. NISSAN NOT WILLING TO EXTEND OR COVER REPAIR. COST TO REPAIR 5000.00 WE BOUGHT CAR 2 YEARS AGO ONLY HAD 25000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A RED LIGHT, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, BUT THE VEHICLE STILL FAILED TO MOVE FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MASTRIA NISSAN (1305 NEW STATE HIGHWAY, RAYNHAM, MA 02767) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION ON MY VEHICLE ABRUPTLY STOPPED ON A 65MPH TOLLED HIGHWAY WITH ONLY 48,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING, NO SOUNDS, NO LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD, ETC. ALL AT ONCE, THE TRANSMISSION JUST STOPPED GOING INTO GEAR. THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARDS. WE WERE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LANE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND CAME INCHES FROM A PILE-UP. THE SITUATION WAS INCREDIBLY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. NOT TO MENTION, MY DAUGHTER HAD JUST COME OUT OF SURGERY. COME TO FIND OUT, THERE IS EXTENSIVE INFORMATION ON HOW FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSION IS. WE ARE FAR FROM THE ONLY FAMILY TO EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE. IT'S EXTREMELY COMMON. YET, NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED AND THERE IS NO OPEN INVESTIGATION INTO NISSAN. IS IT GOING TO TAKE SOMEONE BEING KILLED? MOST LIKELY. THE TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY, DANGEROUS AND GOING TO TAKE SOMEONES LIFE. NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT THE ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND HAS DONE NOTHING. THEY HAVE NUMEROUS TSB'S ON IT. YET, THEY HAVE DENIED CUSTOMER'S CLAIMS, HAVE NOT EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE PART AND DO NOT TAKE THIS ISSUE SERIOUS. I URGE THE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE.
COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 85,821 MILES. STRANDED AT MAJOR INTERSECTION. TRANSMISSION REPLACED AT A COST OF $4000. NISSAN SHOULD EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THEIR CVT TRANSMISSIONS IN ALL VEHICLES.
2013 NISSAN SENTRA W/ 58,700 MILES. THE CAR EXPERIENCED A LOUD WHINING NOISE, WHICH PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE UNTIL IT STARTED TO SHUDDER AND REV INTERMITTENTLY UNTIL POWER WAS LOST. THE COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER OCCURED WHILE DRIVING APPROX. 30 MPH ON A 2-LANE ROAD IN TRAFFIC, CAUSING AN UNSAFE CONDITION. THE DRIVER WAS FORCED TO STOP THE CAR IN THE TRAVEL LANE WITH EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON WHILE OTHER VEHICLES PASSED ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD. UPON RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO A SAFE LOCATION BUT THE PROBLEM REMAINED, INTERMITTENT REVVING UNDER LOAD, SHUDDERING, AND EVENTUALLY COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AGAIN. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP, AND IT IS BEING EXAMINED BY THAT DEALER NOW. ALL SYMPTOMS POINT TO FAILURE OF THE CVT, A COMMON PROBLEM WITH A RANGE OF NISSAN VEHICLES THAT HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR YEARS. NOTE, 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, THE SAME DEALER CHANGED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND PERFORMED OTHER REGULAR MAINTENANCE SERVICE. FROM THE CONSUMER PERSPECTIVE, NISSAN AND THIS DEALER ARE KNOWINGLY ALLOWING UNSAFE VEHICLES TO LEAVE THEIR LOT AND NOT INFORMING OWNERS OF THESE ISSUES.
CONTINUOUS TRANSMISSION REVS UP AND DOWN AND JERKS THE CAR FORWARD AND BACKWARD. THIS IS A NEWLY REPLACED TRANSMISSION IN APRIL 2018. THE LAST TRANSMISSION ALSO HAD AN ISSUE WHEN COMPLAINED THE AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER SAID THERE WAS NO ISSUE. AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED RIGHT AFTER IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND NISSAN REFUSED TO REPLACE. I PAID $3700 FROM POCKET TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, AND IT IS FAILING AGAIN.
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING WHEN TAKING OFF OR SHIFTING 85,000 MILES
TAKATA RECALL. TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WITHOUT SHOWING CODES.. NISSAN KEPT SAYING IT WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH CAR BUT THE CAR WAS STALLING AND PULLING AT TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF MAKING A TURN ON CITY STREETS THE CAR WOULDNT GO.. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. SO IT TOOK MONTHS OF THEM REFUSING TO FIX AND MY WARRANTY COMPANY TO ACTUALLY FIX THE PROBLEM. ALSO, THE MASTER BREAK CYLINDER WENT OUT WITHOUT NOTICE. I HAVE HAD MANY MECHANICS LOOK AT CAR AND SAY THAT MY CAR HAS VERY LITTLE MILES FOR THIS TO HAPPEN SO SOON.. WHILE DRIVING ON MAIN ROADS AND HIGHWAYS THE BRAKE PAD WILL GO ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR. WHEN AT A RED LIGHT AND STOP SIGN OR ANY TIME I AM AT A STOP THE CAR KEEPS MOVING WITH BRADE PAD ON FLOOR OF CAR..
VEHICLE HAS JUST UNDER 60,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEGAN TO STUTTER OR SHAKE WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A LIGHT. ALSO THE OTHER DAY WHEN GOING TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE PETAL TO THE FLOOR.
WHILE DRIVING MY NISSAN SENTRA, FOR OVER 2 YEARS IT STARTED TO JERK WHILE SHIFTING IN BETWEEN GEARS AND GOING FROM STOPPING TO STARTING. RECENTLY WHILE DRIVING, I WAS GETTING ONTO AN INTERSTATE FROM THE RAMP AND MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. IT TOOK ME A GOOD .5 MILES TO GET UP TO 40MPH AND A MILE OR MORE TO GET UP TO THE SPEED OF 60 MPH! THE TRANSMISSION HAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE AND IT FLUTTERS. THE CAR IS 5 YEARS OLD. I'VE ALREADY PAID $1K BECAUSE THE AIR COND COMPRESSOR WENT OUT AND NOW THEY WANT $6K TO REPLACE THE TRANS ON A CAR THAT MIGHT BE WORTH $7K. NISSAN NA SAYS THEY WILL NOT HELP COVER ANY COSTS. EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THIS TRANSMISSION HAS ISSUES ACCORDS THE BOARD AND THEY HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTIES TO THE 2007-2010 MODELS.
MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA SUDDENLY LOST ALL OF ITS POWER IN A BUSY HIGHWAY. IT IS VERY EASY TO CAUSE A CRASH AND KILL ME. I GOT IT TOWED TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP. I AM TOLD THAT THE AVERAGE COST FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION CAN RANGE FROM 3500 TO 5000. IT'S ALMOST A NEW CAR AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED OUT OF NOWHERE ON 78K MILES!! JUST GOT OUT OF THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY FROM MY UNDERSTANDING THIS CVT CAUSED NISSAN TO WARRANTY THE OLDER MODELS BECAUSE OF THE SAME ISSUE, BUT THEY DID NOT OFFER THE SAME ON MY 2013. HOWEVER, FROM MY RESEARCH, IT APPEARS TO BE A CURRENT AND ONGOING ISSUE WITH ALL NISSANS WITH A CVT. I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE COMMON PROBLEM AND IS DOING NOTHING TO CORRECT IT.
MY DAUGHTER;S 2013 NISSAN SENTRA STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH IT SPUTTERING AND JERKING. WE HAD SOME MAINTENANCE ON IT EVEN CHANGING SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES. A TOW TRUCK HAD TO BE CALLED AND IT WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WOULD COST OVER $3000 TO HAVE IT REPLACED. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS AT ALL!!!

BOUGHT 2013 NISSAN SENTRA USED AT 25,000 MILES. NO ISSUES OR PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION UNTIL AROUND 89,000 WHEN CAR BEGAN TO JERK WHILE TRYING TO CHANGE GEARS AND THEN PROGRESSED TO SHUDDERING, JERKING, ETC. TOOK IT TO MECHANIC, VERIFIED THAT TRANSMISSION WAS IN HORRIBLE SHAPE AND GOING OUT. WENT TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED. THEY ADVISED THAT WARRANTY WAS OUT AND THAT NISSAN WAS DOING NOTHING TO ASSIST WITH THIS. SAID THEY WOULD BE GLAD TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION FOR $4,000. NISSAN NEEDS TO EXTEND THIS RECALL. THESE VEHICLES ARE DANGEROUS AND NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS AND CHOOSES TO IGNORE THIS ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER (PASSPORT NISSAN, 5000 AUTH WAY, CAMP SPRINGS, MD 20746, 301-423-8400) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 114,000.
I PURCHASED MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP IN MARCH 2013. MY TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY REPLACED WITHIN 1.5 YEARS (28K MILES) FROM PURCHASE DUE TO MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THE PROBLEM IS REOCCURRING ABOUT 3.5 YEARS (77K MILES). SYMPTOMS ARE SIMILAR TO MOST REPORTING I'VE SEEN ONLINE. ACCELERATION DELAYS, CAR SPUTTERS, METAL ON METAL SOUNDS. MY CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE AT AN INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC COMING FROM BOTH DIRECTIONS. GIVEN MY FIRST TRANSMISSION WAS FOUND TO MANUFACTURER DEFECT MY 2ND TRANSMISSION WHICH IS IDENTICALLY FAILING NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED SAME WHICH IT IS NOT.
'TAKATA RECALL' WHEN I RECENTLY GOT THIS CAR, AT FIRST I KNEW SOMETHING WAS OFF BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE LIKE A NORMAL CAR AND IT WOULDN'T GO PASS BY 30MPH ON THE FREEWAY. I LET A COUPLE OF DAYS PASSED BY UNTIL THE LAST DAY BEFORE I TOLD THE DEALER , I WAS AN ENTIRE DAY TURNING MY CAR ON AND OFF THINKING THAT IT WILL STOP GLITCHING BUT I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND I WAS CAUSING A LOT OF TRAFFIC DUE TO IT'S MALFUNCTION. AFTER THAT, THEY TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO GET ANOTHER TRANSMISSION OR SYSTEM CALLED THE CVT TRANSMISSON, THEY ACTUALLY DID CHANGE THE TRANSMISSON AND AFTER THAT IT WAS WORKING WELL BUT WASN'T SATISFIED WITH IT, IT STARTED LOOSING POWER AND THERE'S TIMES WHEN IT DOESN'T WANT TO ACCELERATE AND I HAVE TO PUSH MY FOOT ALL THE WAY IN WHICH IS SCARY BECAUSE THERE'S TIMES WHERE IT JUST THROWS ME OFF SINCE I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT WANTS TO ACCELERATE LIKE A NORMAL CAR. OVERALL, THEY CHANGED THE CVT TRANSMISSON AND I FELT THAT IT GOT WORST AND NOW I JUST DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THIS CAR , I DON'T FEEL SAFE WITH IT BUT THE SAD PART IS THAT I'M STILL PAYING FOR THE CAR.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED BY THE SAME DEALER ON MARCH 7, 2014. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 32406354. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS FAILING .IT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO SHAKE AND SHUDDER WHEN CHANGING GEARS. THE RPMS WILL RISE AND FALL BY ITSELF OFTEN. VERY SLOW ACCELERATION DUE TO THE SLIPPAGE OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION. DANGEROUS TO TRY AND MERGE WITH OR PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC.
SO MANY ISSUES NOT EVEN SURE WHAT IT IS. CAR WILL FAIL TO SHIFT INTO GEAR AND CONSTANT REDLINE, VERY DANGEROUS WHEN GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY. CAR WILL RANDOMLY GET NO GAS TO ACCELERATE UNTIL I TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN. TRANSMISSION SLIPS AT 80K MILES. OR PERCEIVED TO BE SLIPPING, CAR WILL DROP RPM AND THEN RISE QUICKLY JERKING THE CAR AROUND. GOING DOWN HILL THE CAR WILL QUICKLY RISE RPM OVER AND OVER AND THE CAR WILL UNCONTROLLABLY JERK VERY NOTICEABLY.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT 65 MPH ON THE EXPRESSWAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. IT STEADILY BEGAN TO DECELERATE, GIVING NO WARNING, WITH NO LIGHTS ON THE DASH OR NOISES. AS I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO ACCELERATOR PEDAL INPUT, AND I HAD TRAFFIC MOVING AT A VERY HIGH SPEED AND WAS ALMOST HIT BY ANOTHER CAR ATTEMPTING TO GET ONTO THE VERY SLIM SHOULDER AT LOW SPEED. THE CAR HAD 74,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, AND HAD EXCELLENT CARE TAKEN OF IT, INCLUDING ITS RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE. IT WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN DECEMBER 2012, AND I AM THE ONLY OWNER. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE I WAS TOLD I WAS OUT OF THE 60,000 MILE WARRANTY. INITIALLY QUOTED $4500 JUST TO GET THE CAR BACK IN WORKING ORDER, IT TOOK NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS TWO WEEKS TO ARRIVE AT A FIGURE JUST SHORT OF $1100 TO GET MY CAR RUNNING AGAIN. A TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT FAIL IN A VEHICLE AT ALL, LET ALONE ONE THAT NEW, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE LEVEL OF CARE THAT IT WAS GIVEN. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, AS I ALMOST HAD NOWHERE SAFE TO PULL OVER. IF THIS HAD BEEN THE MULTI-LANE HIGHWAY I WAS ON MINUTES BEFORE, I MAY HAVE NOT BEEN OVER TO REACH THE SHOULDER AND COULD HAVE BEEN HIT OR INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ENCOUNTERED BY A LARGE NUMBER OF NISSAN OWNERS WITH CONTINUOUS VARIABLE TRANSMISSIONS AND THE COMPANY HAS DONE LITTLE OR NOTHING ABOUT IT, AND HAVE ATTEMPTED TO MINIMIZE THE PROBLEM. BY EXTENDING "FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE" DOWN TO $1100, IN MY VIEW, THEY ARE ADMITTING GUILT AS TO THIS PROBLEM, AS COMPANIES DO NOT GIVE MONEY AWAY. I FEEL CHEATED, AND NOW DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE I HAD PAID $21,000 NOT VERY LONG AGO.

HE ASKED FOR THE VIN AND TOLD ME THERE WAS A "CAMPAIGN" ON THIS CAR. I ASKED HIM WAS A CAMPAIGN AND A RECALL THE SAME THING, HE SAID THEY WERE THE SAME, DIFFERENT WORDS.. HE TOLD ME THE CVT NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. HE GAVE ME A DEALERSHIP. I CALLED, MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 9:00AM THIS MORNING. WE TOOK THE CAR IN, WAS TOLD THE CAR HAD BEEN REPROGRAMMED. WE DROVE AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP, GOT ABOUT ONE BLOCK AND THE CAR BEGAN TO JERK AND LOSE POWER LIKE BEFORE. WE TURNED AROUND AND WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. I TOLD THE REPRESENTATIVE THE CAR WAS STILL JERKING AND LOSING POWER. SHE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $99.00 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. I DID NOT PAY FOR THE TEST BECAUSE THE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE ON THE PHONE TOLD ME THE REPAIR WOULD BE AT NO CHARGE. WHEN WE GOT HOME, I CALLED NISSAN, AGAIN. I WAS TOLD I COULD NOT TALK TO THE REPRESENTATIVE I TALKED TO YESTERDAY. THIS TIME, I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO WARRANTY LEFT BECAUSE I HAD 82,000 MILES ON THE CAR. HE TOLD ME THE WARRANTY STOPPED AT 60,000 MILES. I TOLD HIM THE REPRESENTATIVE I SPOKE TO YESTERDAY TOLD ME IT WAS COVERED AND I HAD LOOKED ONLINE AND NISSAN HAD ADDED TO THE WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS OR 120,000 MILES. HE SAID THAT IS NOT FOR MY CAR AND I COULD JOIN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. I TOLD HIM I DON'T WANT TO JOIN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, I NEED MY CAR REPAIRED. PLEASE HOLD NISSAN ACCOUNTABLE TO FIX THESE UNSAFE CARS, BECAUSE, NISSAN KNOWS THERE IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM WITH THE CVT'S. THIS IS UNFAIR.

CAR BOUGHT NEW IN 2013. RESEARCH ONLINE SHOWS AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS ABOUT NISSAN'S CVT TRANSMISSIONS FOR YEARS AND NISSAN IS NOT ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. NISSAN OFFERED OWNERS OF PREVIOUS MODELS UP TO YEAR 2010 TO DOUBLE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY FROM 60,000 TO 120,000 TO ADDRESS PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS BUT CURRENT OWNERS ARE NOT OFFERED THIS CURRENTLY EVEN THOUGH OBVIOUS PROBLEMS REMAIN WITH THEIR TRANSMISSIONS. THERE HAS TO BE A FAULT WITH THEIR TRANSMISSIONS. I CONTACTED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND THEY STATED THAT I WOULD NEED TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP AND GET IT DIAGNOSED. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND QUOTED ME 4K FOR THIS. I CONTACTED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND THE CASE WAS ESCALATED TO SOMEONE NAMED AMANDA IN CONSUMER AFFAIRS IN TENESSEE. SHE QUICKLY INFORMED ME THAT NISSAN WOULD NOT ASSIST IN ANY WAY WITH REPAIRING THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. SHE ALSO STATED THAT HER DECISION WAS FINAL AND THAT THIS MATTER COULD NOT BE ESCALATED ANY FURTHER.
