ALAN WEBB NISSAN (3608 NE AUTO MALL DR, VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON 98662, (360) 892-9004) DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 319-401-85. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,600.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WITHOUT WARNING ONCE DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH KELLY NISSAN OF LYNNFIELD (275 BROADWAY, LYNNFIELD, MA 01940, (866)-726-4450). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT, IF THERE WAS A FAILURE, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE COULD POSSIBLY ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,200.
TRANSMISSION IS ACTING LIKE IT WANTS TO NOT SHIFT ON TIME. IT HESITATED AND WILL EVEN REVUP WITHOUT ME ACCELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (GETTEL NISSAN, 3530 BEE RIDGE RD, SARASOTA, FL 34239) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP MALFUNCTIONED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
OUR 2013 NISSAN SENTRA WITH 112K MILES, THE TRANSMISSION HAS STARTED TO SHUTTER WHEN SHIFTING ON CITY STREETS, GETS STUCK IN SECOND GEAR WHEN PULLING ONTO HIGHWAYS ON RAMPS, AND SLIPS WHEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH AND WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL. THIS VEHICLE SAVED MY WIFE'S LIFE WHILE BEING OUR ONLY TRANSPORTATION. SHE HAS SURVIVED 5 CANCERS BUT NOW WE DON'T HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION. I CAN'T GET THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE TWO RECALLS PERFORMED ON THE AIRBAGS AND ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM.
WHEN DRIVING MY CAR ON THE HIGHWAY OR CITY STREETS, I LOSE SPEED AND CAN'T USE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE TO PICK UP ANY SPEED.CAR WON'T GO PASS 20 MPH.
MY CAR HAS A CVT TRANSMISSION AND NISSAN KNOWS THAT THESE CARS AT AROUND 70,000 MILES, THE TRANSMISSION STARTS ACTING UP. I NOTICED THAT MY CAR FELT A LITTLE DIFFERENT WHENEVER I WAS DRIVING IT BUT JUST THOUGHT IT WAS MY IMPRESSION. AS MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING IT WITH MY TWO KIDS IN THE CAR, THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE AT A STOP SIGN. IN THE HIGHWAY IT JERKS, SPEEDS AND SLOWS DOWN AT VARIOUS TIMES UNANNOUNCED WHICH MAKES IT VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I CONTACTED NISSAN ABOUT IT AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEED A $4000 TRANSMISSION THAT THEY WOULD'VE REPLACED FOR FREE, BUT UNFORTUNATELY I HAPPEN TO BE 1800 MILES OVER WHAT THE BOOK STATES. IF I KNEW THAT MY CAR HAD A TRANSMISSION THAT IS NO GOOD THAT PUTS ME AND MY FAMILY IN DANGER I WOULD'VE BROUGHT MY CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP A LONG TIME AGO. BUT I DIDN'T KNOW AS THERE IS NO RECALL AT THIS POINT.
MY CAR HAS A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION AND AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, I FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN NORTH AMERICA WAS AWARE OF THE DEFECT OF THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS AND HIT IT FROM CUSTOMERS. I GOT A QUOTE FROM MY DEALERSHIP FOR $4,300.17 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. I HAD TO COME OUT OF POCKET TO FIX IT BECAISE I NEED MY CAR FOR WORK.
VEHICLE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELS FURTHER THAN NORMAL. HAVE CHECKED BRAKE PADS, BRAKE SHOES, ADJUST HAND BRAKE FLUSH BRAKE FLUID AND REFILL AND BLED ALL 4 BRAKE LINES. NO IMPROVEMENT. I BOUGHT USED.
WHILE DRIVING INTERMITTANT STALLING, RESTARTS RIGHT AWAY, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON ALSO MAY ALMOST STALL UPON COMING TO A STOP LIGHT, BEGINS TO IDLE ROUGH, OCCURS VERY INTERMITTANT, WHEN PURCHASED PRE-OWNED SIMILAR PROBLEM WAS RECTIFIED BY REPLACEMENT OF SOME TYPE OF EMISSIONS HARNESS HAS BEEN BACK TO DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY KEEP CHARGING ME FOR TRYING TO REPAIR AND NOTHING SEEMS TO CHANGE STILL RANDOM STALLING
I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA SV I PURCHASED USED. NOW TWO YEARS LATER AND OUTSIDE OF MY WARRANTY PERIOD I AM GOING ON 3 TIMES WITHIN THE LAST MONTH AND A HALF AT THE SHOP FOR WHAT APPEARS TO BE A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THEY UPDATED THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER, DIDN'T FIX IT, THEN THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR, THIS ALSO DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE, NOW ONE WEEK FROM MY LAST VISIT TO THE SHOP ITS BACK IN. THERE ARE NO RECALLS HOWEVER THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING IF I PRESS ON THE GAS IT RANDOMLY DOESN'T GO ANYWHERE OR STRUGGLES TO ACCELERATE. AT ONE POINT THIS LEFT ME IN THE LINE OF TRAFFIC AND I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT OR EVEN KILLED IF THE CAR DRIVING TOWARD ME HAD NOT SLOWED DOWN. WHILE ON THE FREEWAY I WENT FROM 65MPH TO STRUGGLING TO GET TO 20-40 MPH AND HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCE AFTER A 15MIN FREEWAY DRIVE IT REFUSING TO ACCELERATE WHEN TURNING ONTO A MAIN STREET AFTER A SHORT STOP. AFTER MULTIPLE REPAIR ATTEMPTS AND READING ONLINE IT SEEMS THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. PLEASE RECALL!
STALLING WITHOUT WARNING SLOWING DOWN OR COMING TO A STOP INTERMITTANT HAS OCCURRED FOR ALMOST THREE YEARS. NISSAN DEALER UNABLE TO CORRECT PROBLEM AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS 'NO FAULT FOUND, UNABLE TO DUPLICATE COMPLAINT'. EGI HARRNESS REPLACED NO CHANGE IN 2016.
TAKATA RECALL PASSENGER AIR BAG DOES NOT TURN ON WHEN PASSENGER IS IN CAR WHILE THE CAR IS AND IS NOT IN MOTION. CAR TURNED OFF WHILE PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY. MECHANIC CONFIRMED I HAVE A WIRING ISSUE SOMEWHERE WHEN THEY TRIED TO PUT NEW FOG LIGHTS IN AND ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED.
MY NAME IS [XXX] I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FOR MY WIFE [XXX] THE VEHICLE IS 73,000 MILES WITH FREQUENT OIL CHANGES AND CHECK UPS. THE TRANSMISSION WENT ON THIS VEHICLE AND I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC. AFTER MY MECHANIC DID A DIAGNOSTIC REPORT AND EXTENSIVE RESEARCH HE FOUND THAT THIS PARTICULAR MAKE AND MODEL HAS HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I TOOK THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHO ADVISED ME THAT NISSAN SAID THEY ARE AT FAULT AND WILL PAY FOR HALF THE PRICE OF A NEW TRANSMISSION. I AM A DISABLED, RETIRED VETERAN AND CANNOT AFFORD $3000 TO PUT IN A VEHICLE THAT NISSAN KNOWS THEY ARE AT FAULT FOR. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 73,000 MILES ON IT AND MY MECHANIC SAID THAT IT SHOULD DEFINITELY NOT HAVE ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS . I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO ABOUT THIS ISSUE. BRAKES HAVE UNUSUALLY LONG PEDAL TRAVEL COMING TO A FULL STOP. AFTER COMING TO A FULL STOP, ADDITIONAL PRESSURE IS REQUIRED TO KEEP THE CAR FROM DRIFTING FORWARD. INCIDENT HAPPENS REPEATEDLY. WE PURCHASED THE CAR USED, WITH A REBUILT TITLE. I HAD THE BRAKES CHECKED AT A GARAGE, AND HAD THE LINES BLED TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NO AIR IN THE LINES. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES.
IN THE FUEL PUMP THE WIRE PLUG IS BURNED AND IT MAKES CRACK. BECAUSE OF THAT GAS IS LEAKING.
BOUGHT THIS CAR, MY FIRST CAR ON 04/20/2018. I HAVE A SHORT COMMUTE TO WORK AND THE CAR SEEMED TO FIT MY PRICE RANGE AND DIDN'T SEE MANY DIRE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SPECIFIC MODEL OF CAR WHILE RESEARCHING BEFORE PURCHASING. UNTIL I SEARCHED RPM SPIKES AND TRANSMISSION SLIPS ON GOOGLE AFTER MY 60 DAY LIMITED WARRANTY RAN OUT. HAVEN'T EVEN DRIVEN THIS CAR 800 MILES AND THE CAR JERKS VIOLENTLY ON THE ROADS, AND AT ONLY 55,000 MILES. IT JERKED FROM DAY ONE, BUT THOUGHT IT WAS NORMAL UNTIL IT GOT WORSE. I'M JUST NOW REGRETTING BUYING THIS VEHICLE, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO I WAS IN A PINCH FOR A CAR I GOT BILLS TO PAY AND A JOB I HAVE TO MAKE IT TO. IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS ISSUE AND ALL AGREE THE CVT SHOULD BE A RECALL. I HAVE TO BE HONEST I AGREE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW YOU COULD SELL SOMEONE THIS VEHICLE WITHOUT LETTING THEM KNOW THE REPUTATION THIS CAR HAS. I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU COULD SELL SOMEONE A USED CAR TO SOMEONE AND KNOW THAT PERSONS CAR MAY STALL, OR JERK AND CAUSE A LIFE THREATENING CAR CRASH. WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT, ITS NOT THE MONEY ITS THE SAFETY, THE VEHICLE DOESN'T OPERATE IN A SAFE MANNER, IT JERKS, STALLS, SHAKES WHEN BREAKING ALL WHILE NOT FLASHING ANY INDICATOR LIGHTS SAYING THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WHEN THERE CLEARLY IS SOMETHING WRONG.
UPDATE SINCE APRIL - PURCHASED CAR 10-22-15 INSPECTION AND SAID IT WAS GOOD. IN 1-14-2016 CAR GROWLING/CITY STREET. AGAIN INSPECTION AND SAID IT WAS GOOD 6-14-16 CAR IN ,CAR GROWLING IN MOTION ON STREET. AGAIN TESTED - GOOD STRANDED (PURCHASED A JUMP START) 8-16 2016 STRANDED IN DRIVEWAY 10-17-17 - TWICE CAR WENT INTO SPORT MODE,ON HIGHWAY (50/60MPH) NO ONE TOUCHED ANYTHING-HANDS ON WHEEL! THEY HAD CAR FOR 12 DAYS AND SAID NOTHINGS WRONG WITH THE TRANS. STILL HAPPENS..AND WORSE. TRANS BLOWS UP WHILE DRIVING CAR. IT WAS AWFUL, HAD WE BEEN GOING 50/60 WE WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD.NO WARNING LIGHTS- STOPPED DEAD AND ABRUPTLY ON CITY STREET. HAD IT TOWED IN THEY FINALLY ADMITTED IT WAS THE TRANS FROM THE START OCT 2015! HAD TO HAVE A RE-FURBISHED TRANS AS THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT OF THIS ONE,(CAR TOWED IN-WOULD NOT GO INTO ANY GEAR). 1-16-18 CAR IN FOR LOUD RATTLE. THEY SAID IT WAS FROM THE TRANSMISSION BEING REPLACED. STRAIGHTENED THE HEAT PLATE UNDER THE TRANS. STILL RATTLES 3-15-18 WHILE DRIVING WITH THE NEW TRANS. CAR WENT INTO SPORT MODE ON CITY STREET, JUST LIKE BEFORE THE ORIGINAL TRANS EXPLODED. 4-29-18 STRANDED IN DRIVEWAY AFTER DRIVING IT 28 MILES- THE BATTERY WAS DISCHARGING WHILE DRIVING- WE'VE BEEN STRANDED ABOUT 14X'S. TOOK CAR IN -GOT A LOANER. THEY SAID IT MUST BE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND DID A PARASITIC TEST. NOTHING WRONG 6-26-18 WENT INTO SPORT MODE DRIVING FOR ABOUT 40 SECONDS -PULLED OVER- SHUT OFF MOTOR. 7-26-18 SHIFTED INTO HIGH GEAR AGAIN ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING. OUR HANDS ON THE WHEEL, WHEN DRIVING. THE CAR IS ACTING LIKE IT DID BEFORE THE TRANS WAS REPLACED. THEIR NISSAN CORPORATE MAN SAID, IT MUST BE ELECTRICAL WHY WE ARE GETTING STRANDED AND THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE NEW TRANSMISSION THEY PUT IN AS IT'S DOING THE SAME THING AS ORIGINALLY, BEFORE THE CAR EXPLODED AND COULD HAVE KILLED US.
MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION AS WELL AS SHUDDERING HESITATING, DOWN SHIFTING ABOVE 50MPH.,WHINING SOUND FOLLOWED BY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. CARRIED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER SHIP TO BE CHECKED OUT. I WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAILING. I WOULD NEED A NEW ONE. I HAVE ENCLOSED THE INVOICES AS WELL AS MY DIFFERENT STEPS TO TRY TO RESOLVE THIS AS A WARRANTY ISSUE.
I WAS ON THR HIGHWAY GOING 65 MPH BUT ONCE THE TRAFFIC SLOWED DOWN, WITHOUT WARNING I COULD NO LONGER GET GOING ONCE I CAME TO A STOP. THE CAR SQUEELED AND EVEN THOUGH I FLOORED IT, IT STALLED OUT. ONLY AFTER CUTTING THE CAR OFF ANF BACK ON DID IT ALLOW ME TO RESUME BUT IT WAS A NIGHTMARE BECAUSE TRAFFIC WAS BACKED UP.
TAKATA RECALL DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY CAR STALL IN FRONT OF AN 18 WHEELER. IT SCARED THE LIFE OUT OF ME BUT AS I DROVE LITTLE BIT MORE IT STARTED TO JERK AND I COULD NOT GO OVER 25. I PULLED OVER CUT THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND TRIED TO PULL OFF AND IT JERKED SOME MORE BEFORE IT PULLED OFF AND THEN I COULD GO ONLY 25. AT EVERY RED LIGHT I HAD TO CUT THE CAR OFF AND ON JUST TO GET THE CAR OUT THE ROAD. I FINALLY MADE IT TO THE DEALER SHIP TODAY AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE A ARM AND A LEG SAY MY WARRANTY ENDED AT A 100K AND I GOT THE CAR WITH 37K MILES ON IT. I DONT THINK THAT IS RIGHT. THEY TELL ME I HAD A WARRANTY FOR A 100K MILES BUT WHEN IT TIME TO FIX SOMETHING THE WARRANTY IS UP. I SHOULD STILL HAVE 30K LEFT BEFORE MY WARRANTY GOES OUT. BY THE WAY THIS STARTED ON APRIL 23RD 2018 THIS AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME ON MY WAY TO THE DEALER SHIP ON APRIL 25TH.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING ON STREETS AND HIGHWAYS, THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO BE STUCK ON A LOWER GEAR OR NOT TRANSITIONING TO A HIGHER GEAR. THE MOST NOTICEABLE ISSUE IS RELATED TO THE RPM'S GETTING EXTREMELY HIGH WITH LITTLE OR NO INCREASE IN OVERALL SPEED. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO INCREASE MY SPEED THE VEHICLE SLOWLY ACCELERATED UP TO 45 - 50 MPH BUT THE RPM'S REFLECTED 6,500+ BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD START TO JERK AT THIS POINT I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO MOVE TOWARDS THE EMERGENCY LANE/SHOULDER FEARING THAT IT WOULD ABRUPTLY STOP WORKING OR LOSE MOMENTUM. THIS INSTANCE HAPPENED ON TWO OCCASIONS DURING THIS DRIVE WHILE ON THE FREEWAY AND IT SEEMED TO STOP AFTER THE SECOND TIME I PULLED OVER BUT ONLY AFTER I CYCLED THROUGH THE PARK/NEUTRAL/REVERSE/DRIVE/LOW GEARS A FEW TIMES. BASED ON THIS SECOND INSTANCE, I FEEL THIS ISSUE IS RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION FOR THE VEHICLE.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA ON THE INTERSTATE..IT STARTED JUMPING AND JERKING..I TOOK IT TO A GARAGE AND HAD THE SPARK PLUGS CHECKED BECAUSE I THOUGHT THAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM..WAS TOLD PLUGS WERE FINE.TRIED TO DRIVE IT HOME AND IT JUMPED AND JERKED WORSE..HAD NO POWER AT ALL..WOULD NOT GO OVER 40 MPH..HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP..THERE ARE NO LIGHTS ON SO THEY TELL ME THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.MY CAR HAS BEEN THERE FOR OVER A WEEK AND THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO IT BECAUSE IT'S NOT SHOWING A CODE..THIS CAR ONLY HAS A LITTLE OVER 61,000 MILES AND SHOULDN'T BE HAVING SERIOUS PROBLEMS..NOW I AM PAYING FOR A CAR THAT'S NOT DRIVE ABLE..I AM NOW SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE I'M AFRAID OF BEING IN AN ACCIDENT..SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT NISSAN SELLING THESE UNSAFE CARS..
CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE RESULTING IN SLOW ACCERATION WITH MAX SPEED RANGING 0-25 MPH. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NISSAN VEHICLES, AND WAS COVERED BY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS. MY CAR WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO TROUBLESHOOT TRANSMISSION. THE DEALERSHIP PERFORMED INSPECTION ON OTHER COMPONENTS OF VEHICLE, MADE UNCONFIRMED ACCUSATIONS BASED ON BRAKE WEAR, AND AGE/SEX OF DRIVER. THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT AT NISSAN (MANDY) INITIALLY INDICATED EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD, AND THAT SHE ONLY NEEDED THE CVT TEST RESULTS FROM NISSAN TO CONFIRM THAT THE ISSUES FOR MY CVT TRANSMISSION WERE IN ALIGNMENT WITH CVT REPAIR THAT THEY PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH. WHEN COGGIN NISSAN SHARED THE RESULTS WITH MANDY, SHE DECLINED COVERAGE. BEFOREHAND, WHEN I SPOKE TO RAYMOND (SERVICE ADVISOR), I ASKED IS THERE ANYTHING ABOUT THE TEST RESULTS DIFFERED FROM TEST RESULTS OF CVT TRANSMISSIONS COVERED BY NISSAN, AND HIS REPLY WAS 'NO', WHEN I EXPLAINED THIS TO MANDY, AND REQUESTED TO VIEW THE DOCUMENTATION THAT COGGIN NISSAN SHARED WITH HER, SHE DECLINED STATING INFORMATION WAS ONLY TO BE VIEWED BY INTERNALLY. I HAVE A QUESTIONABLE HISTORY WITH THIS DEALERSHIP OVER TWO UNRELATED INCIDENTS THAT SHOULD BE DOCUMENTED IN THEIR SYSTEM. ONE INCIDENT WAS ME TAKING VEHICLE IN FOR A 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT. I EXPLAINED THE REAR TIRE TREAD WEAR WAS REASON FOR ALIGNMENT. I EXPLAINED THEY NEEDED TO DISCLOSE THAT THEY DON'T ALIGN THEIR OWN VEHICLES PRIOR TO PERFORMING ALIGNMENT SO CONSUMER CAN TAKE VEHICLE TO AN ALIGNMENT SHOP WITH ABILITY TO ALIGN. I DISPUTED CHARGES, AND MANAGEMENT WAIVED. OTHER SCENARIO WAS HAVING A REAR BUMPER COVER PAINTED. PHONE PRICE QUOTE WAS $70 LOWER THAN IN PERSON.

MASTER CYLINDER. ON SATURDAY 1/27/18 I WAS DRIVING MY CAR HOME AFTER MAKING A STOP AND THE BRAKES QUIT WORKING. I HAD TO SLAM ON MY BRAKES TO GET THE CAR TO STOP. I FINALLY GOT HOME AFTER A STRESSFUL DRIVE. I TOOK MY CAR TO ONE SERVICE CENTER THE NEXT DAY (1/28) AND THEY TOPPED OUT THE FLUIDS BUT FOUND NOTHING ELSE WRONG. I GOT IN THE CAR TO DRIVE HOME AND HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THUS, ON MONDAY (1/29) I TOOK THE CAR TO A DOWNTOWN SERVICE CENTER (NON-NISSAN) AND THEY DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAD THAT ITEM REPLACED AT A COST OF $732. I THEN SENT A LETTER TO NISSAN REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FOR THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THE CAR WAS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND 67000 MILES. NISSAN SAID SINCE I DID NOT BRING IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEIR DIAGNOSTICS RUN THEY WOULD NOT REIMBURSE ME. HOWEVER, A WEEK OR TWO EARLIER I WAS AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR A SHIFT LOCK PROBLEM AND THEY RAN DIAGNOSTICS THEN. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM AND DID RUN DIAGNOSTICS. THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE. AFTER THE MASTER CYLINDER ISSUE, I RECHECKED THAT REPORT AND IT INDICATED THE BRAKE FLUIDS WERE LOW. I ALSO CHECKED THE INTERNET AND RAN ACROSS SEVERAL REPORTS THAT TALKED ABOUT THIS SAME BRAKING ISSUE. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT SINCE I DID NOT BRING IT TO THEM. HOWEVER, SINCE ITS OUT OF WARRANTY I DO NOT ALWAYS TAKE MY CAR TO A DEALERSHIP - I USUALLY TAKE IT TO A PLACE CLOSER TO MY WORK.

ONCE I GOT TO 30 MPH, THE RPM'S WENT TO 4 AND WOULD NOT DECREASE UNTIL THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. I WAS ABLE TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON TO CETE THE DRIVE. THE CAR WAS DIAGNOSED WITH INTERNAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR TO NISSAN 3 TIMES PRIOR AND THEY CLAIMED NOTHING WAS WRONG AND THAT THIS WAS NORMAL FOR A CVT. ONCE THE CAR REACHED OVER 60K AND WAS OFFICIALLY DIAGNOSED WITH TRANSMISSION FAILURE THEY LET ME KNOW IT WOULD BE $4,300 TO FIX. I OPENED A CASE AND NISSAN STATES BECAUSE THE CAR WAS DIAGNOSED POST WARRANTY THEY WILL NOT COVER IT. I EXPLAINED I HAVE THE DOCUMENTATIOM PROVING I WAS IN THERE PRIOR TO WARRANTY EXPIRING AND THE WOMEN SAID THAT DOESN'T MATTER, THE OFFICIAL DIAGNOSIS WAS POST WARRANTY ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES.

THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED, NOTING THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON WITH THE SENTRA. OUR 2013 SENTRA HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (CVT) AND LESS THAN 40,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER WHEN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE COST TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.

I AM A SINGLE MOM OR 2, WORKING 2 JOBS 7 DAYS A WEEK. I STILL OWE $11K ON MY CAR AND I CANNOT EVEN DRIVE IT, NOR DO I HAVE $4500 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. IF YOU LOOK ONLINE THERE IS FORUM AFTER FORUM OF THIS KNOWN PROBLEM AND NISSAN IS UNWILLING TO ASSIST CUSTOMERS AND THEY SAY THEY HAVE THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I LOVE MY CAR AND I AM WILLING TO ACCEPT A REBUILT TRANSMISSION BUT THEY ARE UNWILLING TO HELP ME AT ALL. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO MAKE THIS A RECALL? IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM ON MANY 2013 - 2014 NISSAN SENTRA'S THAT AROUND 75K - 100K MILES THE CVT TRANSMISSION STARTS TO HAVE ISSUES, AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MINE.
