THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE CHEST AND WRIST, BUT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V242000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,488.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND DECELERATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE JERKED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED AND CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE BRAKE SENSOR AND FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,915.
EARLIER LAST MONTH BEGAN HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES, BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP WITH JUST OVER THE 60K WARRANTY MARK. DEALER HAD THE CVT FLUID CHANGED, WHICH HELPED FOR THE NEXT DAY UNTIL THE ISSUES RETURNED. NOW I AM GETTING NO RESPONSE FROM NISSAN USA AND THE DEALER CANNOT FIND THE ISSUES BECAUSE THE ENGINE IS THROWING NO CODES. ALMOST 2 CAR ACCIDENTS. SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BEFORE A PERSON GETS INTO AN ACCIDENT FROM CVT.
THE NISSAN SENTRA ACCELERATE AND DECELERATE AT ANY GIVING MOMENT ON THE CITY STREET IN MOTION, AT A STOP SIGN HIGHWAY TURNING IT SHAKES AND JERKS WHEN EVER IN MOTION THE BRAKES LOCK UP THE VEHICLE REV AND THE RPM METER SURGE UNEXPECTEDLY AND WITHOUT WARNING NONE OF THE WARNING LIGHTS WORK THE VEHICLE IS VERY DANGEROUS TOOK THE CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALER A COUPLE OF TIMES THEY SAID I NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE GOT THE OIL CHANGE STILL DIDN'T HELP TOOK THE CAR BACK UP THERE THEY LOOKED AT THE CAR AGAIN AND SAID IT NEEDED A TRANSMISSION AND I SAID HOW NO WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON THE GUY SAID THEY WANT COME ON UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION IS GONE AND THE SHIFT LEVER WONT SHIFT IN GEAR WITHOUT PUTTING AN OBJECT IN THE LITTLE SQUARE HOLE NEXT TO THE LEVER
THE DASH SENSOR LIGHT THAT INDICATES WHEN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DEACTIVATED OFTEN LIGHTS UP WHILE ADULT PASSENGERS ARE IN THE SEAT. TYPICALLY IT TAKES 15 MINUTES OF DRIVING TO RESET THE LIGHT. THIS HAPPENS REGULARLY.
CAR WILL NOT COME FROM PARK TO DRIVE .CAR IS LOCKED INTO PARK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING 20-25 MPH, THE ODOMETER DISPLAYED INCORRECT READINGS AND THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED THEN THE VEHICLE DECELERATED. THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHILE IN TRAFFIC AND THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT GO INTO THE PROPER GEARS. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT A TRANSMISSION RANGE PERFORMANCE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED TWO MONTHS LATER. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,411.
CVT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON VEHICLE WHILE ON THE ROAD. I ONLY HAD 76,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME.
2013 NISSAN SENTRA TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 78,600 MILES WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHILE WE WERE TRAVELING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY ON THE WAY HOME FROM A LONG ROAD TRIP. WHILE DRIVING AT AN SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 70-75 MPH IN TN ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE BEGAN DECELERATE AND THE RPM'S JUST KEPT REVVING UP. IT WAS JUST ME (A FEMALE) AND MY TWO YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE. I ATTEMPTED TO THE EMERGENCY SHOULDER WITH MY HAZARDS ON TRYING TO AVOID BEING HIT BY A TRANSFER TRUCK AND SEVERAL VEHICLES. I SHUT THE CAR OFF TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON AND WAS AFRAID OF WHAT JUST OCCURRED. I STARTED THE ENGINE BACK AND IT BEGAN DRIVING FINE FOR ABOUT 10 MINS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN IT DECELERATED AGAIN NEAR THE ATLANTA AREA AND TOTALLY DRIVING POWER. I WAS 3 HOURS FROM HOME AND HAD TO CALL FOR HELP. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING AND ADVISED THEM OF THE ISSUE AND ENGINE CODES RECEIVED FROM AN AUTO STORE. I THEN CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND THEY ADVISED TO SIMPLY TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR SINCE IT WAS OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED US A PRICE OF $3600 BEFORE TAXES AND ADVISED THAT THEY HAVE SEVERAL ISSUES WITH CVT TRANSMISSIONS BUT THAT'S JUST THE NATURE OF THEM. I HAVE CONCERNS THAT THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER REVIEW AND IN DEPTH RESEARCH OF THE FAULTY TRANSMISSION ISSUES SEVERAL NISSAN OWNERS HAVE FACED IN THE PAST FEW YEARS. ADDITIONALLY, THE COST EFFECTIVENESS OF THE ISSUE IS CAUSING HARDSHIP ON CUSTOMERS THAT RELY ON THE BRAND AND SAFETY FEATURES NISSAN IS CONTINUING TO ADVERTISE. I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO THE DEALER TODAY FOR SERVICE ON TWO RECALLS, THE CVT, AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THESE RECALLS ARE UPDATING THE COMPUTER. ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE DEALER, MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. WHEN I WOULD REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR AND REAPPLIED IT, THERE WAS A LONG DELAY IN THE ACCELERATION. DUE TO THIS DELAY I WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT, BECAUSE I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE OUT OF THE WAY OF AN ONCOMING CAR. BY BLOWING MY HORN, I GOT THE ATTENTION OF THE OTHER DRIVER AND I AVOIDED THE ACCIDENT. I CALLED THE DEALER AND SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED. TOMORROW MORNING I AM BRINGING THE CAR BACK IN TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT.
LUCKILY, I WAS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, BUT MY TRANSMISSION JUST STOPPED WORKING OUT OF NOWHERE. THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND THEN WOULDN'T ACCELERATE ABOVE FIRST GEAR. I'VE SEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS OF NISSAN CVT'S THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. MANY PEOPLE WERE AFFECTED WHEN ENTERING THE HIGHWAY. NISSAN OFFERED TO COVER HALF OF THE NEW TRANSMISSION AS MINE WAS ONLY 3,000 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY.
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE BEGAN JERKING. IT ALSO STARTED JUMPING FORWARD WHILE TAKING OFF AND EXPERIENCING HIGH RPMS. IT REQUIRES A NEW TRANSMISSION TO FIX AT ONLY 101,000 MILES. JUST OUT OF EXTENDED WARRANTY. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION HAS A LOT OF HESITATE AND BAD VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT'S DUE TO SMALL EVAP LEAK BUT HAVE REPLACED CAP AND STILL STAYS ON ONCE AWHILE U SMELL GAS FUMES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK VIOLENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
NOT EVEN 24HRS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, DID MY ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO GET THE EMISSIONS TEST WHICH FAILED TWICE. I WAS TOLD THE ISSUE WAS THE GAS CAP THAT WAS THEN REPLACED BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THIS WAS DUE TO A SMALL LEAK IN THE EVAPORATIVE SYSTEM. EVERYTIME I FILL THE TANK UP THIS LIGHT COMES ON AND I GET THE MESSAGE "FUEL CAP LOOSE" BUT THE CAP HAS BEEN REPLACED AND TIGHTENED
PURCHASED A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA WITH AROUND 45820 MILES ON IT.2 WEEKS LATER THE TRANSMISSION GOES OUT. THEY REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.RECEIVED IT BACK WITH PROBLEMS. RPM WOULD GO UP PAST 5 WHEN ACCELERARING OR PASSING. COMPLAINED AND NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK WAS TOLD THAT WAS NORMAL.. PROBLEM CONTINUES. EVEN HAD A SUPERVISOR TEST DRIVE AND WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS OUT OF ORDER.CONTACT CORPORATE THEY SEND ME TO A NEW DEALER AND ITS GEARS THAT ARE NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY. SOLUTION ANOTHER TRANSMISSION THIS TIME THEY EXPECT ME TO PAY BUT THEY ARE WILLING TO PAY HALF.UNACCEPTABLE FOR A PROBLEM I BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT SINCE RECEIVING THE VEHICLE BACK.OBVIOUS DEFECT IN TRANSMISSION FOR NISAN OR IN MECHANICS THAT WORK FOR THEM
'TAKATA RECALL" I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW, I'VE ONLY HAD IT FOR 3 YEARS AND NOW I NEED TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION. I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR AN ALIGNMENT, I WAS SHOWN WHERE THERE IS A LEAK ON THE TRANSMISSION. I'VE TAKEN IT TO 3 SEPARATE MECHANICS. UNFORTUNATELY, BECAUSE ITS A CVT TYPE OF TRANSMISSION, ONLY NISSAN IS ABLE TO FIX IT! NISSAN WON'T BUDGE ON THE COST OF REPAIRS, THEY HAVE AN I DON'T CARE ATTITUDE ABOUT IT. IT'S A [XXX] SHAME THAT NISSAN IS BUILDING FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS AND WON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I AM LITERALLY KICKING MYSELF IN THE [XXX] FOR BUYING A NISSAN. ONCE UPON A TIME, NISSAN WAS KNOWN TO MAKE EXCELLENT QUALITY CARS THAT WERE BUILT TO LAST A LIFETIME. THIS IS MY FIRST BRAND NEW CAR, BUT NOT MY FIRST NISSAN. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,230.
MY CAR STALLS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A SLOW DOWN OR STOP.IT START THE END OF 2016 BUT IT WAS ONCE EVERY FEW WEEKS. I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN OXFORD MS IN 2017 AND HAD IT TESTED AND WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. IT IS MUCH WORSE NOW. IT USE TO BE A COUPLE TIMES A MONTH AT FIRST NOW IT HAPPENS ON AT LEAST HALF OF THE ACCELERATIONS FROM BEING STOPPED OR SLOWED ESPECIALLY IF YOU TRY TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY. I HAVE READ ABOUT OTHER CARS HAVING THIS PROBLEM. THE HAVE ISSUED A BULLETIN FOR IT TO BE TESTED AND REPAIRED AT MY COST. THIS SHOULD BE NISSAN'S EXPENSE PLUS ANY DAMAGE IT HAS COST WITH ME DRIVING IT THIS WAY FOR 50,00 MILES AFTER THEY SAID IT WAS ANYTHING TO BE FIXED. THIS IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED. THIS STARTED AT 52,000 MILES NOW IT HAS 99,000 MILES IT WAS TESTED AT 56,000 MILES.
THE TRANSMISSION ON MY CAR HAS NOW BEEN REPLACE TWICE, THE CAR SHAKES, JOLTS AND SHUT OFF. NOW FOR A THIRD TIME WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET THE CAR SHOCK HARD AND THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE FELL. THE CAR WAS UNMOVABLE. IT WAS SO DANGEROUS I WAS IN MORNING TRAFFIC AND 3 CARS ALMOST HIT ME BECAUSE THE CAR STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. HAD TO GET THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NOW WAITING TO SEE WITH WHAT EXCUSE THE COME OUT WITH. CAR ALWAYS SHAKES SINCE I TOG IT NEW IN 2013. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR, MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA STARTED SHAKING AND VIBRATING. THE ENGINE BEGAN MAKING SOUNDS, AND SINCE I WAS IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC, I NOTICED THAT WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES OR TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T RESPOND. THE RPM METER WAS JUMPING ALL OVER THE PLACE. WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, MY CAR WOULDN'T MOVE, AND THEN WOULD JERK FORWARD SUDDENLY. THIS ALL MADE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY VERY SCARY, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE PROBLEMS CAME ABOUT SUDDENLY. I WOULD HAVE TO KEEP AN OVERCAUTIOUS DISTANCE FROM OTHER VEHICLES BECAUSE I WASN'T SURE WHEN MY CAR WOULD DECIDE TO STOP OR SPEED UP. ALL OF THIS WAS HAPPENING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. THE TRANSMISSION HAS HAD A RECALL BEFORE, AND I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF CONSUMER REPORTS OF OTHERS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. MY VEHICLE IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD, I AM THE FIRST OWNER, AND I HAVE KEPT UP WITH ALL SERVICE REQUIREMENTS. CALL THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACE, THAT THIS CARS CONTINUING TO HAVE THIS ISSUE SINCE THE BEGINING OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION ON THE SENTRAS I THINK NISSAN NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUTTING CARS WITH UNSAFE TRANSMISSIONS ON THE ROAD, MY FAMILY OWN MANY NISSAN VEHICLES AND THEY ARE GOOD PRODUCTS WITH SOME EXCEPTIONS
THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW FROM DEALERSHIP, CAR START GIVING ACCELERATION PROBLEMS ABOUT 3 MOTHS AGO, WE JUST HAD IT DIAGNOSED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD AND HAS TO BE REPLACED, THIS CAR HAS ABOUT 87,000 MILES, NO TRANSMISSION SHOULD BE REPLACED AT THIS MILEAGE, AND WE RUN OUT OF THE GUARANTEE. I OWE NISSANS FOR THE LAS 15 YEARS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLES BEFORE THEY START USING THE CVT (CONTINUES VARIABLE TRANSMISSION), I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY 2010 ROGUE, HOWEVER THE POWER TRAIN GUARANTY INTO THIS MODEL AND YEAR WAS EXTENDED TO 10 YEARS BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE IN THEIR CVT TRANSMISSION, I BELIEVE THAT NISSAN CONTINUES TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THIS KIND OF TRANSMISSION AND THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS KIND OF PROBLEMS. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ARE 2013 NISSAN SENTRA SR ON THE FREEWAY TRYING TO GET IN THE CAR POOL LANE WITH MY 7 YEAR OLD SON AND 2 YEAR OLD SON AND THE CAR WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED...I TEST DROVE IT IT WORKED FINE BUT WHEN I TURNED THE LIGHTS ON IT WOULDN'T PICK UP SPEED THIS IS ONLY HAPPENING WHEN MY LIGHTS ARE ON ....TOOK IT TO NISSAN THEY REPLACED TRANSMISSION SAID IT WAS FROM MY BACK TAILLIGHT HAVING WATER IN IT AND THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR A NEW TAIL LIGHT MY CAR ONLY HAS 51000 MILES IT'S STILL A FAIRLY NEW CAR . WAS A RECALL ON PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR AND I HAD THAT DONE BUT SOMETIMES THE LIGHT STAYING ON WHEN SOMEONE IN THE SEAT . AND YES THEYRE OVER 100 LBS . I HAVE TAKEN PICTURES BUT THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT LOOK AT THEM .
I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT AGAINST THE NISSAN MOTOR COOPERATION FOR FAULTY CRAFTSMANSHIP IN 2013 NISSAN SENTRA THAT I PURCHASED IN JACKSONVILLE,FLA. I HAVE HAD TO TAKE MY CAR AUTONATION NISSIAN IN ORANGE PARK FLA THREE TIMES DUE ELECTRICAL SHORTAGE IN THE CAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, THE CAR TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON ALL OVER SUDDEN. THE CAR THEN BRAKES AND SLOWS DOWN. I ATTEMPTED TO TRY AND TURN OFF THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BUT THEN A SECOND LIGHT APPEARS ON THE DASH BOARD. IN ADDITION YOU ALSO LOSE ACCELERATION WHEN THIS HAPPENS.THE MECHANIC,SHOP FOREMAN,AND SERVICE ADVISERS CAME TO CONCLUSION THAT THIS IS DUE TO EXCESSIVE MOISTURE IN THE TAILLIGHT WHICH CAUSES THE CAR TO AUTOMATICALLY BRAKE WHILE DRIVING AND CAUSES A SHORTAGE IN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I WAS ADVISED THAT THE TAIL LIGHT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SEALED AT THE FACTORY. NISSAN WANTS ME TO PAY $491 WHICH I DONT HAVE. THEY THEN SAID I WOULD ONLY HAVE TO PAY A $100 OF WHICH I DONT HAVE. WHILE GETTING READY TO ENTER A HIGHWAY, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SPONGY, AND WENT COMPLETELY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. ON PUMPING THE PEDAL, THE BRAKING POWER WOULD COME AND GO. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE IT WAS UNCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER HAD GONE BAD. THE CAR HAS ONLY 33279 MILES ON IT AND WAS RECENTLY SERVICED BY A NISSAN DEALER.
THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT COME OUT OF GEAR. VEHICLE WILL START AND COME OUT OF GEAR ONCE YOU HIT THE GEAR SHIFT SEVERAL TIMES. STARTED THE ISSUE LAST MONTH 09/05/2016. NO OTHER INCIDENT TOOK PLACE PRIOR. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY ON FLAT GROUND IN THE DRIVEWAY EVERY TIME IT HAS TAKEN PLACE. IF YOU PUT IT IN PARK ONCE YOU FINALLY GET IT OUT OF PARK IT TAKE ABOUT 45 MINUTES OF WORKING WITH IT TO GET IT BACK OUT.
TRANSMISSION JERKS ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING BETWEEN 15-30 MPH. WARRANTY IS TO 60K, HOWEVER HUNDREDS (IF NOT THOUSANDS) OF OWNERS HAVE THIS ISSUE. RESETTING THE EMS MODULE DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. PURCHASED OUR 2013 NISSAN SENTRA SV IN MAY, 2016. IT CAME WITH A 7 YEAR CPO, EXPIRATION MAY 30, 2020. WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF PURCHASE I HAD WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A SHIFTING/TRANSMISSION RELATED ISSUE. WHEN GOING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR THE CAR TACHOMETER WOULD REV TO 4500 RPM BUT NUT GO ANY FASTER, THEN SHAKE/THUNK, AND GO INTO 2ND GEAR. FROM THAT TIME UNTIL APRIL, 2020, I WENT IN TO 4 SEPARATE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS IN 2 STATES WITH THIS PROBLEM. EACH ONE SAID THEY WOULD NOT LOOK AT THE VEHICLE BECAUSE NISSAN SAID THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION STOPS WORKING. IN APRIL, 2020, MY LAST VISIT, I EXPLAINED A NEW PROBLEM OCCURRED. THE CAR COULD NOT MAINTAIN 65 MILES PER HOUR WITHOUT GOING INTO OVERDRIVE OR A HIGHER GEAR, AND WAS SHIFTING MULTIPLE TIMES INTO MULTIPLE GEARS. BUT STILL NOTHING WOULD BE DONE BY NISSAN AS THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT FAIL. THEN, ON JULY 22, 2020, THE TRANSMISSION STUCK IN 2ND TWICE. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND EXPLAINED MY SITUATION. A CASE SHEET WAS DEVELOPED AND I SENT IN INFORMATION TO THEM. 8 DAYS LATER THEY CALLED ME BACK AND SAID MY CPO WARRANTY ENDED END OF MAY, 2020, SO THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO. BY THE WAY, MY CASE SHEET NUMBER WAS 40830236. TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED THIS WEEK COSTING US OVER $4000. VERY, VERY FRUSTRATED. I KNOW OUR CPO ENDED END OF MAY, 2020. I'VE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO BE FIXED BUT DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED PARTS FROM NISSAN AND WILL NOT RECEIVE UNTIL AUGUST. MY FIRST INDECENT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING DOWN A STATE HIGHWAY WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL ON, MY CRUISE CONTROL WAS CUT OFF. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY FOR AN INITIAL RECALL NOTICE TO BE FIXED AND EXPLAINED ALSO WHAT HAPPENED. WHEN I DESCRIBED MY ISSUE THE SERVICE MAN HAD SAID IT SOUNDED AS IF MY TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING, THAT THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT. AFTER RECALL WAS CARED FOR AND TWO TEST DRIVES LATER, THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. TOLD ME IF PROBLEM COMES BACK TO BRING IN IMMEDIATELY. ON 07/06/2016 ON MY DRIVE HOME AT NIGHT, I CAME TO A LIGHT AND YIELDED,UPON TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO TURN MY CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND WAS HAVING ISSUES ONCE AGAIN REVVING UP! I DRIFTED IN TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT, PUT MY CAR IN PARK, TURNED IT OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN TURNED IT BACK ON. IT ACTED FINE UNTIL I WAS FURTHER DOWN ON A STATE HIGHWAY AND IT WAS GIVING ISSUES ACCELERATING AGAIN. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY (07/07) AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN. THEY CALLED ME AFTER SOMETIME, AND MADE ME AWARE OF WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE(CONDENSATION IN THE TAIL LIGHTS!) AND HOW IT WAS AFFECTING MY VEHICLE. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE AND THAT THE MANUFACTURER AND NISSAN ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT HAVE YET TO ISSUE A RECALL!! THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT CAN LEAD TO A FATAL ACCIDENT!!

THE OCS DOES NOT DETECT AN ADULT OCCUPANT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS DEACTIVATED. FAILURE OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG TO DEPLOY DURING A CRASH (WHERE DEPLOYMENT IS WARRANTED) COULD INCREASE THE RISK INJURY OR DEATH TO THE PASSENGER. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ESCALATED TO THE ELK GROVE NISSAN REPAIR CENTER MULTIPLE TIMES. ELK GROVE INFORMED ME THEY RESET THE PROGRAMMING OF THE SENSOR AND UNINSTALLED AND INSTALLED THE SEAT TO TRY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE ISSUE CONTINUES TO OCCUR ESPECIALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED ON A NON LEVEL SURFACE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME.

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION REGARDING THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM(OCS) SOFTWARE DEFECT REQUIRING REPROGRAMMING TO DETECT A PASSENGER IN ORDER TO DEPLOY THE AIRBAG IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, AND THE CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM(CRS), IN PARTICULAR THE SEAT BELT BRACKET DEFORMITY ALSO IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT REQUIRING REINFORCEMENT. ON 6/24/16 I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER WHICH INFORMED ME THAT THEY COULD NOT COMPLETE THE RECALL BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE REQUIRED PART, THEREFORE IT WOULD HAVE TO BE ORDERED. AS A RESULT MY APPOINTMENT HAS BEEN SET FOR 1 MONTH LATER. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR, MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA STARTED SHAKING AND VIBRATING. THE ENGINE BEGAN MAKING SOUNDS, AND SINCE I WAS IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC, I NOTICED THAT WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES OR TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T RESPOND. THE RPM METER WAS JUMPING ALL OVER THE PLACE. WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, MY CAR WOULDN'T MOVE, AND THEN WOULD JERK FORWARD SUDDENLY. THIS ALL MADE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY VERY SCARY, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE PROBLEMS CAME ABOUT SUDDENLY. I WOULD HAVE TO KEEP AN OVERCAUTIOUS DISTANCE FROM OTHER VEHICLES BECAUSE I WASN'T SURE WHEN MY CAR WOULD DECIDE TO STOP OR SPEED UP. ALL OF THIS WAS HAPPENING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. THE TRANSMISSION HAS HAD A RECALL BEFORE, AND I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF CONSUMER REPORTS OF OTHERS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. MY VEHICLE IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD, I AM THE FIRST OWNER, AND IT HAS LESS THAN 70,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE KEPT UP WITH ALL SERVICE REQUIREMENTS. I THINK NISSAN NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUTTING CARS WITH UNSAFE TRANSMISSIONS ON THE ROAD.

THIS CAUSED NO ACCIDENT OR INJURIES. MY INSIDE SUNROOF COVER WAS IN THE CLOSED POSITION.

IF CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM (CRS) IS INSTALLED IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE SEAT BELT BRACKET COULD DEFORM AND AIRBAG MAY NOT DEACTIVATE AS DESIGNED. FAILURE OF PASSENGER AIRBAG TO DEPLOY DURING A CRASH COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY TO PASSENGER. IF SEAT BELT BRACKET DEFORMS, THIS MAY INCREASE RISK OF INJURY TO CHILD SITTING IN A CRS INSTALLED IN THE FRONT SEAT.
