I WENT TO STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND I WAS UNABLE TO DEPLOY THE BRAKES. THE CAR STARTED TO ROLL FORWARD, I THEN TRIED SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES, BUT THE CAR ACCELERATED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND I ENDED UP CRASHING THE CAR.
CAR CONTINUOUSLY BUCKS AND OCCASIONALLY STALLS OUT DUE TO A FAULTY TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 40K MILES FOR THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I PURCHASED THE CAR AT 55K MILES AND ALL SEEMED FINE. NOW AT 70K MILES AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN.
CVT TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, RANDOMLY, TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP GOING UP INTERSTATE HILLS, CRUISE CONTROL ON, GOING SPEED LIMITS, TRANSMISSION WILL START SLIPPING AND RPMS WILL BOUNCE UP AND DOWN 500RPMS, TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN, TRANSMISSION REPLACED..DECEMBER 2017....AND REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION IS DOING THE EXACT SAME SLIPPING... I HAVE RETURNED TO NISSAN SERVICE, THEY PERFORMED SOFTWARE UPDATE TO CORRECT PROBLEM, RECEIVED CAR BACK ON 1-5-18, DRIVING HOME, ABOUT 60 MILES I BEGIN UP A INTERSTATE HILL, AND SLIPPING HAPPENS AGAIN, I CALL NISSAN SERVICE AND LET THEM KNOW THE TRANMISSION IS STILL SLIPPING, SERVICE GUY SAYS THEY HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THEY CAN... I HAVE SERVICE WARRANTY RECORDS AND VIDEOS OF SLIPPING TRANSMISSION... SEEMS NISSAN SERVICE CAN NOT FIX
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V242000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ACME NISSAN (2050 US-130, MONMOUTH JUNCTION, NJ, (732) 821-9300) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED BEFORE THE RECALL REPAIR COULD BE COMPLETED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DECLINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM DEALER IN AUGUST 2018 ONLY 6 MONTHS AGO I HEARD A NOISE BUT THE DEALER SAID THAT ALL THE CARS MAKE THAT NOISE THE NOISE HAS GOTTEN WORSE AND I KNOW IT IS A ROD BEARING ANOTHER MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT BUT DEALER REFUSES TO EVEN DROP THE OIL PAN AND CHECK THE ROD BEARINGS NOISE IS GETTING WORSE BRAD FENTON MOTORS IN ARDMORE OKLAHOMA IS WHERE I TOOK IT TOO. THE NOISE IS WORSE WHEN ENGINE IS COLD AND GETS LESS NOISY WHEN WARM. I SIGNED TO CANCEL MY WARRANTY BUT THE NEVER FINISHED IT HOPING FOR A RESOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.
ENGINE CUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT RESTARTS RIGHT AWAY AFTER PULLING OFF ROAD WHEN IT STALLS, MAY ALSO STALL COMING TO A STOP WITHOUT WARNING, SYMPTOMS OCCUR RANDOMLY.
CHECK ENGINE LITE COMES ON CAR WONT GO OVER 40MPH. NEEDS CVT REPLACED.
MY VEHICLE HAS HAD ONGOING ISSUES WITH ACCELERATION AND THE RPMS GOING PAST WHAT IT SHOULD UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS ISSUE OCCURS SPECIFICALLY WHEN I ACCELERATE. ON JANUARY 21, 2018, AS I WAS MERGING ON TO THE HIGHWAY TRYING TO ACCELERATE, MY SPEED WOULD NOT INCREASE INITIALLY AND MY RPMS WERE PAST 5. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND CONCERNING AS I WAS TOLD BY NISSAN THAT MY TRANSMISSION IS IN PROPER WORKING ORDER AFTER HAVING BEEN REPLACED ONCE ALREADY. MY CAR DOESN'T FUNCTION PROPERLY AND I WENT TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST WHO ALSO SAID THAT MY TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. I PRESENTED THIS INFORMATION TO THE NISSAN SPECIALIST WHO STATED IT WASN'T AND IT IS FINE. HOWEVER, I'VE HAD INSTANCES WHERE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT OPERATE THE WAY IT SHOULD UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS AND PRIOR TO HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS.
I'M A OWNER OF A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA I BOUGHT 1 YEAR AGO AND IT HAS NOW HAD 5 TRANSMISSION PUT IN IT. I HAVE 2 CHILDREN AT THE TIME THE CAR BECAME SELF DRIVING RPM JUST KEPT GOING UP WITHOUT ME PUSHING THE GAS THE CAR HAS MAJOR PROBLEMS AND NISSAN REFUSES TO THINK IT'S A HAZARD MY WIFE ALMOST LOST HER JOB CAUSE OF THIS CAR IT ABOUT GOT US KILLED I'M STUCK UNDER FIANCE COMPANY LUCKY WITH EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT I DON'T FEEL SAFE SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE SHUTTERING JERKING NO POWER WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT ON THE HIGHWAY THIS THING NEEDS TO NOT BE SOLD TO NO ONE THEY NEED TO BE RESPONSIBLE AND TAKE IT BACK AND ALLOW US TO HAVE A SAFER MORE RELIABLE CAR. CONSUMERS AFFAIRS WEBSITE SAYS ENOUGH MULTIPLE ISSUES FROM ALL ACROSS THE WORLD.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH THE CAR JUMPS AT 4K RPMTHEN STARTS JUMP BADLY SO I LEFT OFF GAS AND RE APPLIED THE GAS STILL 4K RPM AND WHINNIN BADLY I FINALLY MAKE IT HOME NEXT DAY STARTED THE CAR AND WHINNINH STILL COME FROM TRANSMISSION AREA CAR HAD 113K MILES BUT HAS ACT UP PREVIOUSLY AND HAD WENT AWAY CAME BACK NOW IT AT A SHOP CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT PULL THE WORST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL THESE CARS OR BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT SOMEONE GOING TO GET HURT WITH THIS TRANSMISSION AND IF MY CAR CAUSE A WRECK WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD 2 YEAR OLD LAW SUIT ACTION WILL BE NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY. 2000-2010 THEY GAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY TOO 120K WHAT ABOUT YOUR NEW ONES WITH ONLY 60K WARRANTY SHAMELESS I'LL TAKE A HIT IF IT CAN'T BE FIXED AND MY JOB IS AT RISK CAUSE OF THERE JUNK NO NISSAN FOR ME EVER AGAIN.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, IT SPORADICALLY DOES NOT SHIFT GEARS SOMETIMES CAUSING LOSS OF POWER AND HIGH RPM'S JERKING THE CAR. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. LOSING POWER CAN CAUSE VERY UNSAFE CONDITIONS ON THE ROAD WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. IT SEEMS THAT WHEN YOU ACCELERATE RAPIDLY LIKE WHEN GOING ON A HIGHWAY RAMP OR ACCELERATING AFTER SLOWING TO MAKE A TURN, THE CAR GETS STUCK IN I WOULD SAY 3RD GEAR AND NOT SHIFT HIGHER. THE RPM'S SKYROCKET AND MAX OUT, KILLING THE POWER TO THE ENGINE. THEN YOU HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND SLOWLY ACCELERATE HOPING THAT ALL THE GEARS SHIFT. THE CAR ONLY HAS 69K MILES ON IT!!!!
WHEN WE PURCHASED THE CAR (NEW) WE COMPLAINED IMMEDIATELY ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER TOLD US IT WAS NORMAL FOR THAT MODEL TRANSMISSION. THEY DIDN'T DOCUMENT OUR COMPLAINT. WE TOLD OUR MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES THAT WE WEREN'T HAPPY WITH IT AS WELL. HE RESEARCHED WITH NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. WE HAVE SINCE RESEARCHED ON OUR OWN AND FOUND OUT OTHERWISE. THE NIGHT THAT THE TRANSMISSION "WENT" I HAD BEEN TRAVELING ON THE TURNPIKE AND HAD TO BE TOWED HOME. THE CAR SEEMED LIKE IT WASN'T GETTING THE GAS, IT BUCKED, SMELLED AND SOUNDED HORRIBLE. I BARELY MANAGED TO GET T TO A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OFF THE TURNPIKE. I HAD MY GRANDDAUGHTER WITH ME AND NEEDED TO BE ABLE TO STOP IN A SAFE PLACE. WE HAVE NOT YET DECIDE WHETHER TO TRY FIXING IT OR TO LEASE ANOTHER CAR. RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM SHOWS MANY PEOPLE STILL NOT SATISFIED AFTER REPAIRING THE TRANSMISSION.
NISSAN CVT NEEDS RECALLED. LACK OF POWER/SLIPPAGE WITH TRANSMISSION ALMOST GOT ME KILLED IN TRAFFIC DUE DECELERATION AND ACCELERATION. VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE NOW.
THIS NISSAN SENTRA IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. YOU CAN NOT GET THE CAR TO ACCELERATE ENTERING THE HIGHWAY, HAVE TO USE A SCREWDRIVER TO GET IT TO GO INTO REVERSE, IT MAKES RUBBING NOISES AND IS A COMPLETE FAILURE NISSAN SHOULD BE PROACTIVE INSTEAD OF REACTIVE WILL TAKE SOMEONE GETTING HURT BEFORE THEY DO SOMETHING?

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL FIVE STAR NISSAN DEALER LOCATED AT 839 WARREN DR, WARNER ROBINS, GA 31088 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CVT WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000. *TT *TR
BRAKES FAILED TO FUNCTION WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP WHILE GOING 35 MPH ON A DRY, STRAIGHT ROADWAY. THE PEDAL HAD SOME TENSION BEHIND IT BUT DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT, KIND OF SPONGY AND IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. SEVERAL PUMPS OF THE BREAK DID NOT RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT BRAKING SO I SPUN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO TRY TO AVOID THE CAR THAT WAS STOPPING, BUT COULD NOT CLEAR IT AND MY CAR HAS BEEN TOTALED AND I AM IN PAIN. AIRBAGS ALSO FAILED TO DEPLOY, AND I'D HAVE THOUGHT A 35 MPH CRASH SHOULD HAVE BEEN SUFFICIENT TO TRIGGER THE INERTIA SENSOR.
CAR JERKS AND SPUTTERS WHEN PULLING OFF LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. WHEN ACCELERATING, THE GEARS DO NOT SHIFT WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO, SO THE RPM REVS HIGH
CAR HAS ONLY 13,987 ORIGINAL MILES. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, ACCELERATING FROM ANY SPEED, VEHICLE LOSES ALL THROTTLE CONTROL / RESPONSE, IDLE MAY HANG AT 3200 SUDDENLY DURING ACCELERATION THEN TAKE 30-40 SECONDS TO DROP BACK TO NORMAL. YOU MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE WARNING LIGHTS AND/OR FAULT CODES SET. TRANSMISSION SHIFTING IS ERRATIC OR NONE AT ALL (STAYS IN HIGH GEAR). FAULT CODES IF ANY ARE MOST LIKELY ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT, LOW VOLTAGE TYPE CODES. WARNING LIGHTS MAY BE TRACTION / STABILITY CONTROL, CHECK ENGINE, ABS IN ANY COMBINATION. THE FAULT IS MOISTURE (WATER / CONDENSATION) COLLECTING IN A TAIL LIGHT AND SHORTING THE CIRCUIT WHICH IS CONNECTED TO THE ENGINE / TRANSMISSION ELECTRONICS. THE TAIL LIGHT MAY NOT HAVE ANY SIGN OF DAMAGE / CRACKS / HOLES BUT THE WATER PRESENCE CAUSING THE SHORT CAN DAMAGE OR DESTROY THE TRANSMISSION IF NOT CORRECTED NOT TO MENTION THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ACCIDENT DUE TO A STUCK THROTTLE AT 3200 RPM IN TRAFFIC. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT HAS NO RECALL AT THIS TIME (WAITING FOR THE ACCIDENTS I GUESS)
MY CAR WAS JERKING WHEN I WAS GOING IN REVERSE AT FIRST. NOW AS I AM GOING FORWARD IT STARTED JERKING. BROUGHT MY CAR IN AND WAS TOLD IT IS MY TRANSMISSION. MY CAR IS A NISSAN SENTRA 2013 WITH 70,800 MILES CURRENTLY ON IT.
LAST FRIDAY THE CVT TRANSMISSION IN MY 2013 NISSAN SENTRA STOPPED WORKING WITH 30,024 MILES ON THE CAR. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IT WHEN IT STARTED MAKING A NOISE, SO SHE PULLED OVER. SHE SAID IT WOULD NOT MOVE FWD OR REV AFTER THAT. WE PURCHASED THE CAR NEW AND ALWAYS TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR ALL SERVICE.
THE CVT BEGAN FAILING AROUND 45,000 MILES (ABOUT 4 YEARS USE). THERE WAS A JERKING BACK AND FORTH MOTION AND THE TACHOMETER WOULD REV UP ABOVE 2,000 RPM AND THEN FALL BACK. PLUS, THERE WAS A HORRIBLE, GRATING-TYPE NOISE EMANATING FROM THE CAR. THE DEALER AT WHICH I BOUGHT THE CAR HAD GONE OUT OF BUSINESS SO I TOOK THE SENTRA TO A DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALER WHERE THEY REPLACED THE CVT WITH A DIFFERENT, "REMANUFACTURED" UNIT. WELL, JUST 2-3 WEEKS LATER, THAT SECOND CVT ALSO BEGAN TO FAIL! I THOUGHT THE CAR WAS GOING TO DIE ON A BUSY HIGHWAY BUT, FORTUNATELY, MANAGED TO MAKE IT TO MY EXIT. I GOT TO THE FIRST TRAFFIC LIGHT AND STOPPED. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN I APPLIED GAS. I SHUT OFF THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND COULD THEN FINALLY GET IT TO SLOWLY MOVE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE REP SAID IT WAS REALLY "UNHEARD OF" FOR A TRANSMISSION TO FAIL TWICE. BUT WHEN I CALLED A FEW DAYS LATER, HE TOLD ME THAT THE COMPUTER HAD SHOWN SOME SORT OF FAILURE. NOW, NEARLY 2 WEEKS LATER, I STILL DON'T HAVE MY CAR BACK. I SUSPECT THAT TRANSMISSION #3 ALSO FAILED AND, PERHAPS, THE DEALER DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AT THIS TIME. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR AND I DON'T THINK I WILL EVER TRUST ANOTHER CVT FROM ANY MANUFACTURER. I WANT TO STRESS THAT THE DEALER HAS BEEN WONDERFUL! THIS IS MY FOURTH NISSAN VEHICLE (2 MAXIMAS, THEN AN ALTIMA, NOW THE SENTRA) AND THEY WERE VERY RELIABLE. I GOT NEARLY 180,000 MILES ON THE SECOND MAXIMA AND NEARLY 150,000 MILES ON THE ALTIMA. BUT NEITHER OF THOSE 2 VEHICLES HAD CVTS! THANK GOODNESS MY POWERTRAIN WARRANTY IS STILL IN EFFECT!
MY CAR HAS AROUND 78000 MILES ON IT AND THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY DIED AND I NEED A NEW ONE. I'VE BEEN TOLD BY SEVERAL MECHANICS THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH NISSAN AND NORMALLY TRANSMISSION SHOULD LAST AT LEAST 10 YEARS. IT HAS BEEN 4... I AM EXTREMELY UPSET SINCE I OWE 10,000 ON THE CAR.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR DOWN THE STREET AND THE CAR JUST STOPPED ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. NISSAN KNEW THEY SOLD ME A CAR WITH A FAULTY TRANSMISSION AND NOW THEY WILL NOT FIX IT DUE TO SAYING IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. NOW I AM STUCK WITH A CAR THAT I CAN NOT DRIVE AND NEED TO COME UP WITH THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO GET THE CAR REPAIRED. 2013 NISSAN SENTRA TRANSMISSIONS NEED TO BE RECALLED AND PAID FOR BY NISSAN DUE TO SELLING CARS THAT THEY KNOW ARE NO GOOD.
PURCHASE A DEMO NISSAN SENTRA 2013 ON MAY 12, 2017. RETURN 3 WEEKS LATER TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SLUGGISH DURING TAKE OFF TO NISSAN SOUTH OF MORROW, GA. THE SERVICE PERSON DROVE IT AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. AUG 4,2017 WHINING NOISE WHILE PARK AND THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, THE SERVICE MANAGER DROVE HE SAID HE DID NOT HEAR BUT NORMAL SOUNDS BUT WAS TOLD I NEEDED THE 60,000 MILE SERVICE PACK, WHICH I PURCHASE AT THE PRICE OF $307 ON AUG 4,. OCT.2017, NOW THE TRANSMISSION IS WHINING LOUDLY AND NOW THEY TELL ME MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED IT WILL COST ME $4,000 TO REPAIR.
TAKATA RECALL, I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR TWO YEARS AND EVERY COUPLE MONTHS WHILE IDLING IT WILL TURN OFF. AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR WON'T GO OVER 15 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN AND NO ONE CAN GIVE ME AN ANSWER. IT'S HAS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF BUSY ROADS AND I AM LUCKY I HAVE BEEN HURT YET. PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT FOR ME THANKS.
MY CAR HAD BEEN "SOFT STALLING" FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS - IT WOULD KEEP RUNNING, BUT AT JUST ABOUT ANY SPEED/DRIVING CONDITION, WOULD EITHER EXPERIENCE A STRUGGLE TO ACCELERATE/MAINTAIN SPEED (RPMS UP TO 6,000 WITH NO WARNING/REASON), START TO DROP SPEED, OR HESITATE/KICK BACK AT ME. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC ON WED, 7/28, AND ON THURS, 7/29, HE TOLD ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED COMPLETELY, THAT IT WAS CYCLING THROUGH GEARS, AND DROPPING GEARS RANDOMLY. HE SAID THAT HE SPOKE WITH NISSAN, AND BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BY MILES (72K VS 60K), THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THEY DON'T ISSUE REPAIR KITS FOR THEIR CVT TRANSMISSION, AND A RE-MANUFACTURED CVT WOULD BE $3900, WITH PARTS AND LABOR. I OWED $6000 ON THAT CAR, AND WAS FORCED TO JUNK IT. NISSAN SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DENY WARRANTY CLAIMS ON THEIR CVT TRANSMISSIONS, AS THEY'RE AN ACKNOWLEDGED PROBLEM IN OTHER MODELS.
THE VEHICLE HAS ONE OWNER, USED ON DAILY ROUTE TO WORK AND A FEW SHORT TRIPS. 67,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS CAUSING THE ENGINE TO REV UP AND DOWN 500 RPMS TO MAINTAIN SPEED. PROBLEM CEASED WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL. PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT. WITHIN TWO DAYS BEFORE GETTING IT SERVICED, THE CONDITION WORSENED. THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP AT SLOW SPEEDS, ALL CONDITIONS, WITH THE FLUCTUATING RPMS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS BEING 1500 RPMS. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A PRESSURE MALFUNCTION IN THE TRANSMISSION. IT DESTROYED THE INNER WORKINGS OF THE TRANSMISSION. DEBRIS FROM THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN THE FLUID, AND THE FLUID WAS SEVERELY BURNED. THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION MUST BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $4200.

FIRST HAD TO REPLACE FUEL PUMP AT 29,000 MILES, THEN ON A TRIP TO KEY WEST, THE CAR, STARTS TO JERKS AND LOSES ACCELERATION, COULDN'T ACCELERATE DO TO THE GAS PEDAL UNABLE TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE, KEPT PRESSING UNTIL IT STARTED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. HAD TO TURN AROUND AND HEAD HOME. THIS VEHICLE A LITTLE OVER 3 YEARS OLD AND 30,000.
IN VERY HOT WEATHER THE CAR WILL SHAKE WHEN STOPPING OR SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND OCCASIONALLY THE ENGINE WILL STOP. THE ENGINE HAS ALSO STOPPED WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING. THIS ONLY HAPPENS ON VERY HOT DAYS.
VEHICLE WILL NOT CHANGE SHIFT GEARS UNLESS THE SHIFT LOCK BUTTON IS USED.
FIRST IS WAS THE A/C WENT OUT FRIST THEN THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WHEN ME MY HUSBAND WAS HEADED TO WORK ONE DAY THE A EIGHTEEN WHEELER ALMOST RAM INTO USE BECAUSE THE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND WOULDN'T GO ANY WHERE.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WOULD LOSE ACCELERATION. THE FIRST TIME IT HAD HAPPEN IT WAS AROUND APRIL 2017 ON A HOT DAY. I THOUGHT MAYBE ME TURNING THE AIR ON PLUS WITH THE HEAT THAT IT WAS THE REASON FOR THE MALFUCTION, BUT THEN IT DID IT AGAIN A FEW DAYS LATER WHILE I WAS TURNING ONTO A BUSY INTERSECTION. I TOOK IT TO A CLOSE FRIEND OF MINE TO ASK IF HE HAD ANY KNOWN SOLUTIONS TO WHY I AM LOSING ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING. BUT HE DIDN'T KNOW OF ANY. SO FOR A WHILE IT WAS DRIVING NORMAL...AT LEAST I THOUGHT. MY DAUGHTER HAD USED THE VEHICLE AND I FORGOT TO TELL HER ABOUT THE ACCELERATION ISSUE, BUT SHE ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE LOST OF ACCELERATION. I THEN STARTED PAYING MORE ATTENTION AND WAS GOING TO TAKE IT SOMEWHERE PROFESSIONAL TO GET IT LOOKED AT.UNFORTUNATELY I DID NOT GET IT LOOKED AT FAST ENOUGH AS THE ACCELERATION WENT OUT AGAIN AND CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. AS I WAS DRIVING AND COMING AROUND A CURVE THE ACCELERATION ONCE AGAIN LEFT AND AS I HAVE DONE IN THE PAST HIT THE PEDAL MULTIPLE TIMES TO TRY TO GET IT TO REV UP SO THAT I CAN DRIVE. ONLY THIS TIME AND AFTER HITTING THE PEDAL MULTIPLE TIMES IT JERKED AND REV HARD WHICH STARTLED ME AND I LOSS CONTROL OF THE CAR. MY CAR FLIPPED OVER 3 TIMES. BY THE GRACE OF GOD I SURVIVED. PUZZLED AND TRYING TO GET MY SELF BACK ON MY FEET I STARTED TO RESEARCH WHAT POTENTIALLY COULD HAVE BEEN WRONG WITH THAT CAR ONLY TO LEARN THAT I WAS NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO EXPERIENCED THIS WITH SENTRAS. I AM GLAD OTHERS WAS SAFE, BUT I ALSO FEEL THAT WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM CARMAX THAT ANY AND ALL RECALLS SHOULD HAVE BEEN POINTED OUT TO ME. OR AT LEAST SOMETHING FROM NISSAN DUE TO ME BEING A NEW OWNER POINTING OUT ANY ISSUES THEY HAD WITH THESE CARS. THIS NOT ONLY TRAUMATIZED ME IT ALSO CAUSE ME TO BE LABELED WITH INSURANCE COMPAINES AS (AT FAULT) DRIVER. THIS STARTED AT 75000 MILES AND I TOOK IT TO NISSAN DEALER IN ELGIN IL, THEY TOLD ME THAT IT COULD CAST ME UP TO 4500 DOLLARS, IT PASSED THE WARRANTY 5YEARS OR 60000 MILES, NOW I GOT 101000 MILES ON IT DRIVING IT TO WORK AND BACK, WHAT CAN I DO, IS THERE ANY RECALL YET, PLEASE HELP US

IM FURIOUS IVE ONLY HAD THIS 2013 NISSAN SENTRA SR FOR 3 GOING ON FOUR YEARS AND TO HEAR THAT MY TRANSMISSION HAS TO BE REPLACED IS RIDICULOUS!! THE TRANSMISSION KEEPS SLIPPING. THE CAR HAS 77,000 MILES ON IT AND THE DEALER IS STATING THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. COST TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION IS $4,800. APPARENTLY THIS IS AN ISSUE A LOT OF NISSAN OWNERS ARE HAVING WITH DEFECTIVE CVT TRANSMISSION AND NISSAN IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY.
WHILE DRIVING 50-60 MPH, THE CAR SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY HOWEVER, IT REQUIRED ME TO PUT IT IN PARK AND THEN SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE IN ORDER TO GO. THE DEALER INDICATED ITS A CVT ISSUE, WHICH MAY BE SUFFERING FROM A 'CVT BELT SLIP CONDITION,' WHICH IS THE FAILURE OF THE CHAIN DRIVE TO TRANSFER POWER THROUGH THE TRANSMISSION AND ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE.THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION (UNDER WARRANTY) AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING. THE DEALER NOW HAS THE CAR TO DISCUSS WITH NISSAN THE NEXT STEPS.
INTERMITTANT ENGINE MISFIRE, CAR WILL SHUT ENGINE OFF WHILE DRIVING OR RAMP UP RPM CAUSING CAR TO JERK FORWARD. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING 45 MPH GIING AROUND CURVE WHEN ENGINE SHUT OFF , SHE COAST TO SIDE OF ROAD. RESTARTED AND ENGINE STARTED MISFIRING. CHECK ENGINE FLASHED AND THEN WENT STEADY. DIAGNOSTICS SHOWED P02 CYC 2 MISFIRE. CYC 2 COIL REPLACED AND NOW TWO WEEKS LATER THE CAR IS MISFIRING, JERKING ENGINE WAS ON, DROVE TO NISSAN DEALER THEY RUN DIAGNOSTIC AND IT CAME BACK WITH NO CODES IN HISTORY.
TAKATA RECALL. THE TRANSMISSION HAS GONE OUT ON ME THREE TIMES SINCE DECEMBER 30, 2016. THE MOST RECENT AS OF 04/03/2017. I ALMOST GOT KILLED EACH TIME ON THE FREEWAY. I WOULD BE GOING 65 MPH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY AND IT WOULD DROP TO 45MPH AND EVENTUALLY COULD NOT FUNCTION. NISSAN JUST REPLACES THE TRANSMISSION BUT THEY KEEP BREAKING. THEREFORE THEY KEEP FAILING AT FIXING THE PROBLEM WITHIN MY VEHICLE AND PUT MY LIFE ON THE LINE. IT IS CONSIDERED A LEMON AND THEY AGREED WHICH IS WHY THEY GAVE ME THE OPTION FOR THEM TO BUY THE VEHICLE BACK FROM ME OR EXCHANGE IT. I CHOSE FOR THEM TO GIVE ME MY REFUND. I WANT A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE AND OTHERS LIKE IT BECAUSE THEY RISKED MY LIFE MORE THAN ONCE AND THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE. THEY'RE ARE FAMILIES IN THESE VEHICLES AND THEY'RE LIVES SHOULD NOT BE AT STAKE LIKE THIS. I RESEARCHED THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS SUFFERED WITH THIS SITUATION WITH THE SAME MAKE AS MY CAR. THE SECOND ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE, WHILE ACCELERATING, IT WOULD RANDOMLY START TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. IT WAS HARD TO PIN-POINT AT EXACTLY WHAT SPEED THIS OCCURRED, BUT I'D GUESS AROUND 40 MPH. WHEN I WOULD RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL THE SHUDDERING WOULD STOP. ALTHOUGH THE CAR HAS A CVT TRANSMISSION, SOMETIMES IT WOULD FEEL LIKE THE CAR WOULD SHIFT GEARS AND THE CAR WOULD RUMBLE SLIGHTLY. I'D SAY THIS OCCURRED AROUND 40 MPH AS WELL. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND LEARNED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR ONLY HAS 75,000 MILES ON IT. IN DOING SOME INITIAL RESEARCH, I'VE LEARNED THE PATHFINDERS MADE IN 2013 ALSO HAD SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION.
MY VEHICLE INTERIOR LATCH HANDLES ON EACH DOOR ARE DEFECTIVE AND HAS STOP WORKING. WE HAVE TO LET DOWN THE WINDOW TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE TO GET OUT. THIS HAPPENED LAST YEAR. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN 2017. FIRST IT. WAS THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR THAT BECAME INOPERABLE THEN THE THREE PASSENGER SIDE DOORS DID THE SAME. THEY ALL STOP WORKING.

TRANSMISSION IS LATE TO ENGAGE WHEN ACCELERATING. RIGHT BEFORE STALLING, CAR WILL LUNGE FORWARD AND SHAKE. HAPPENS WHEN THE ENGINE IS WARM AND COLD.
