This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

I took my Sentra to Performance Nissan located at 1345 S Federal Hwy, Pompano Beach, FL 33062 and was refused service. They refused to fix the safety recall on my vehicle because of a rebuilt title. I called Nissan Of America and was told regardless of a rebuilt title a safety recall should be fixed by the dealership.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering independently steered the vehicle over into the next lane. The failure was a persistent failure. The contact stated that the steering wheel was independently steering the vehicle all over the road without driver input. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V581000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
Unknown, after buying vehicle spoke with dealership and they said all recalls had been fixed. Got an update from BMV stating there’s still an open recall on the vehicle.
The front passenger headlight started to go in and out. After a while it started to burn the connector. Also the back passenger side taillight is out too. The plugs in the car also make the speakers turn scratchy and sometimes the shifter would have some trouble going into gear. I took it to a Nissan dealership and they said that the electrical recall is vin number specifically but it’s happening to my car.
In the interior of the car on the passenger side there are water droplets. The droplet has no smell. There is no evidence of pooling water when I opened the glove compartment. I felt as far a I could behind the glove compartment for moistener, I couldn’t feel any. However I just purchased new winter floor mats. As I was vacuuming my car out I noticed the carpet was wet. I just purchased the car on Sept 08,2025 and thought it may be damp from the car being shampooed. Once I place the rubber winter mats down is when I noticed the droplets. I’ve read there were recalls on the 2022 Sentra for similar issues of water droplets from possible air conditioner condensation. I suspect my car maybe experiencing similar issue. I noticed these droplet as a result on my air conditioner being on.
The tie rods make a popping noise and my car keeps going out of alignment
The CVT system is failing since 1 month ago and when I step on the accelerator i heard i weird noise
EGR VALVE HAD GONE OUT - WOULD NOT ALLOW CAR TO START / WHEEL BEARINGS HAD GONE OUT BEFORE RECOMMENDED TIME TO REPLACE / WHEN REPLACING WHEEL BEARINGS CVT SHAFTS WERE STRIPPED FROM MANUFACTURER - SO WAS FORCED TO CHANGE THEM ALSO / ALSO HAD TO CHANGE STRUTS / WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THERE IS TOO FEW OF MILES ON CAR TO HAVE TO SPEND THIS MUCH MONEY ON REPAIRS.
There are issues with the sensors. Specifically, the collision sensors. I have owned a 2022 Nissan Sentra for a few months now and multiple times have had the traction control malfunction warning, front collision sensor malfunction warning, and back collision sensor malfunction warning appear. In turn, this makes other safety features like the lane departure warning malfunction as well. This is a safety risk because first, the point of collision sensors is to minimize the risk of being in an accident. Second, if the sensors are corroding or have issues it can cause a fire or damage other aspects of the vehicle. I payed for multiple reports of the car. I assumed it was in an accident and the dealership did not disclose it. As the issue becomes more persistent it is clear that is what the car does. Malfunction.
I experienced a second brake booster failure within 1300 miles of the replacement. The booster should be available for inspection, but I do not have it. The dealership has it. On May 9, 2025, at 38,349 miles, my booster failed, experiencing a very loud audible boom and insulation hanging under my car. It was taken to a Nissan dealership and they verified it was something they’d never seen before. It was replaced, then on June 23, at 39,630 miles, it failed again. I had my 4 year old daughter in the car the second time and thankfully was able to stop, but it could have been catastrophic in heavier traffic or at higher speeds. It was inspected by a second Nissan dealership. They advised there was oil in my brake fluid, but did not advise how it could have happened. They also said they aren’t sure what caused it and they’ve also never seen this before. One failure is rare, a second within 1300 miles is extremely rare. The symptoms, I feel, began in January. During a warranty strut replacement, I advised that my brakes were doing something strange and I wasn’t sure if it was the brakes or transmission. I was recommended to have a cvt flush and brake fluid change. I feel this was the booster, but the dealership said there are no symptoms of a failing booster. If those were not symptoms of the booster, then the first symptom began around May 5. When I would start my car, I noticed the brake pedal was stiff until I started it. It drove normal until I pressed the brake while idling in my driveway preparing to leave and heard a loud boom, followed by a hissing sound coming from my brake and a very stiff pedal. My brake is still very stiff when I go to start my car (as if I’ve pressed the brake multiple times, but I am pressing it for the first time). This is potentially the first symptom I experienced before the first failure, it’s a symptom that has not gone away since the first failure. The first failure was also reported and the complaint number is: 11663673
On May 9, 2025, my car was idling in my driveway. I put my foot on the brake to leave and heard an explosion so loud it was mentioned in multiple Facebook groups and heard in at least 3 towns. There was insulation hanging from the bottom of my car. It has been towed to the Nissan dealership and they said my brake booster exploded and confirmed that they had never seen that before. I believe this is a safety issue as had I been on the highway it could have caused a fatal accident. It is still at the dealership so I do not yet have documentation or receipts, but I was told to submit a report ASAP.
The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the driver's side floorboard was vibrating. The contact's wife also informed the contact that the passenger's side floorboard was vibrating. The contact stated that the failure was initially occurring while driving at higher speeds, but recently, the failure also occurred while driving at slower speeds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the brake rotors and pads were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V581000 (Steering), which was previously completed on the vehicle. The used car dealer was notified of the failure. The Nissan dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
My car would cut off on me and all the lights would turn on and the engine light. It would shake then slow down and cut off. It happened to me while driving on the freeway. I was able to cut it back on before accident happened. I’d randomly try to start my car and right when I do the engine light would turn on the car would rumble nd shake really bad and cut off so I’ll have to wait like three min and the car would start up. I forgot what day it happened but my car still acts weird
I brought my car in to the local dealer in Olympia WA for a routine oil change and inquired about a wobble when driving on the freeway. I was told that my 5 year tires (purchased less than 1 year ago$800 full set) needed replaced on the drivers side ($224) and that my car maybe out of alignment ($119). I inquired about the Sentra recalls and was told there aren’t any. This is concerning to me and I worry that it is a safety issue to be driving. My make model and year of car fall within this recall range and is displaying signs described in as consistent with the recall yet my local dealer dismissed the possibility. I am requesting assistance with this as this is my only vehicle and needed for my employment. Please call me. Thank you. [XXX] text & messages are ok. Thank [XXX] . The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving from a complete stop at an intersection, the vehicle shut off. The contact stated that while attempting to restart the vehicle, the message indicating a malfunction was displayed. The check engine, ABS, and battery warning lights, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart. A Police Officer assisted the contact in blocking traffic to prevent a crash. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact stated that the failure had been a recurring failure while driving and while the vehicle was idling. The vehicle was jump-started. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that there was a water flowing sound coming from the rear of the vehicle while driving. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000. The VIN was not available.
ONE DAY IN JANUARY THIS YEAR, I FELT A VIBRATION IN MY STEERING WHEEL. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO A TIRE SHOP FOR ALIGNMENT AND WHEEL BALANCING BUT THE PROBLEM WAS UNSOLVED. TWO WEEKS AGO WHEN I OPENED THE DMV RENEWAL FORM, I SAW THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR MY 2022 NISSAN SENTRA. PER NHSTA RECALL NO. 23V-581, IT STATES THAT THE MANUFACTURER MAY HAVE INSTALLED A CHEAP, WEAK OR SUBSTANDARD TIE RODS. AS A RESULT, THE STEERING WHEEL MAY BE OFF CENTER AND EXPERIENCE VIBRATION WHICH IS EXACTLY MY PROBLEM. I BROUGHT TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE ABLE TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE TIE RODS. HOWEVER, THE VIBRATION IN MY STEERING WHEEL REMAINS. I BELIEVE THAT OVERTIME, THE SUBSTANDARD TIE RODS ORIGINALLY INSTALLED BY THE MANUFACTURER MAY HAVE AFFECTED AND/OR DAMAGED ALL OTHER COMPONENTS RELATED TO STEERING. IF THEY HAVE INSTALLED THE RIGHT PARTS THEN I SHOULD HAVE BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND NISSAN SHOULD BE LIABLE FOR THIS MATTER. I CALLED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA CONSUMER AFFAIRS YESTERDAY AND THE LADY WHO HAS AN INDIAN ACCENT HUNG UP ON ME. I HOPE THAT NHSTA COULD DO SOMETHING REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
vehicle started making noises when turning as well as severe steering wheel vibration. there are over 230,000, 2022 sentras that have a recall on bent tie rods. they already had to warrenty a cv axel not even a year into my purchase. We purchased this 2022 sentra in 2022. The car shakes during acceleration, as well as put my familys life at risk due to the car continuously pulling itself to the right when having to take the interstate. It is available for inspection upon request. It has not been confirmed by a dealer, due to the fact they said im not on the list for recall, but am having the same exact problems as other 2022 sentras that have been recalled. They want to charge 230 dollars just for a diagnostic. No warning lamps or messages appeared. When they changed the CV axel while under warrenty, they said thats whats making the popping like noise when i turn. The noise came back and wont go away, and now im experiancing other symptoms related to the recall.
My car has suddenly slammed brea while driving on empty road at nigh as if I was going to crash but there has been nothing there it has been on empty road but it has completely slammed te breaks on it’s own I have been lucky that I don’t have any cars behind me or they would crash behind me last time I was alone but this time I was with my girlfriend my car slammed the breaks so hard that she ended up slamming her face on the dashboard I need answeres on this because I’m starting to get scared of driving this car if it keeps doing that
On August 21, 2024, my daughter was driving the car and was in the drive thru to get breakfast. As she turn the corner and was in the line to pick up her meal, the car wouldn’t move. She tapped on the gas once more, upon doing so the car veered to the left ( she had no control in the steering) and the tire rod broke causing her to crash into the small cement barrier. I call the dealership where I purchased the vehicle and I was advised to contact Nissan Consumer. The vehicle is not drivable and I was advised to have it towed to a dealership, where it has been for a month now. The inspector went to the dealership over two weeks ago. I was told I would receive an a call regarding the results to determine if Nissan was at fault ( this makes no sense since there’s an open recall and the tie rod is bent/broken). I’ve yet to hear from Nissan Consumer with the results. I’ve left 2 messages and no one has returned my call. The dealership is charging a daily storage fee, car/insurance payments are being made on a vehicle that’s not in my possession. My daughter has to pay for Uber rides for her classes at the school where she has to do observations for her degree. She has to pay for grocery delivery. Additionally, my daughter is a recent kidney transplant recipient. She has doctors appointments she must attend. Without a vehicle, I have to go to a different city to pick her up, take her to the appointment and bring her back. Which means I have to take off from work ( loss wages/ or use vacation time) which I shouldn’t have to, until this issue is rectified. I understand the protocol and we’re not the only consumers with issue, but over a month is ridiculous.
