I HAD AN ACCIDENT BUT AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY . OTHER CAR INVOLVE IN ACCIDENT AIRBAG DELPLOYED . HEAD ON COLLISION .
2004 NISSAN TITAN PASSENGERS SIDE AXEL SHAFT IS SLIDING OUT OF DIFFERENTIAL AND MY 4WD WILL NOT WORK. DIFFERENTIAL FLUID IS LEAKING EVERYWHERE. HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM BY OTHER TITAN OWNERS. THIS IS UNSAFE ESPECIALLY IF THE SHAFT WORKS ITS WAY ALL THE WAY OUT. DO THE RIGHT THING NISSAN!! ISSUE A RECALL!!
FOR THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS I'VE BEEN FIGHTING AN EVAP PROBLEM. IT STARTED 5 YRS AGO WHEN IT WOULDN'T LET ME FILL IT WITH GAS. THEN MONTHS LATER IT GOT WORSE N WORSE WHERE IT WOULD TAKE 20MIN TO FILL TANK. I'VE REPLACED PURGE VALE 3 TIES IN LAST SEVERAL YEARS AND IT WORKS GREAT THEN 6 MONTHS LATER BACK TO SAME ROUTINE. THERE NEEDS TO BE A BETTER FIX TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE N I KNOW IT'S OLD BUT THERE'S THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE
WHILE CHANGING THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID, THE MAGNET/DRAIN PLUG HAD A BROKEN PIECE OF METAL ATTACHED TO IT. I CAN ONLY ASSUME IT'S PART OF THE GEARS INSIDE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THE PIECE BROKE BUT I HAVE READ THAT OTHER TITAN OWNERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES. THOSE GEARS ARE A BIG PART OF THE TRUCK AND SHOULD NOT BREAK EASY. MY TRUCK IS 4X4 SO I'D ASSUME THE GEARS WOULD BE RELIABLE. I BOUGHT MY TRUCK USED WITH APROX 275K MILES SO NOT SURE WHEN PART BROKE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE'S CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD CAUSED EXHAUST FUMES TO ENTER THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
3'RD BRAKE LINE RUPTURE. ALL THE CONNECTORS UNDER OR AROUND BOTTOM OF FRAME APPEAR RUSTED. I'M GETTING AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. IT SEEMS THESE LINES SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE FROM A COMPONENT THAT WOULD NOT RUST. I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE
THE BRAKE LIGHT IN MY VEHICLE CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE HIGHWAY 235 (MD) ROAD. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES IT MADE WHAT SEEMS TO BE GRINDING NOISE. THE BRAKES WENT SOFT LUCKILY THE I WAS NEAR A SHOULDER AND AVOIDED A NEAR REAR END WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. I WAS CLOSE TO A GAS STATION. I PULLED INTO THE GAS STATION WITH THE GRINDING NOISE. I WENT OUTSIDE TO SEE IF THERE WERE AN BRAKE LEAKS OR ANY BRAKE ISSUES AND NOTICED NOTHING. I TURNED ON THE TRUCK AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS GONE AND THE BRAKES WERE NORMAL. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO MY DEALER AND SHEEHY NISSAN STATED IT WAS THE POWER BRAKE VACUUM BOOSTER. NISSAN DEALER STATED THEY HAD A NOTICE ON THIS ISSUE. DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. I HAD IT FIXED - WELL $1,428.45 LATER. THE SAD PART - THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS 15647 MILES AND LIGHTLY USED. SEEMS THAT THERE ARE SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES ON NISSAN TITANS ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. INVOICE OF THE SERVICES PERFORMED ARE UPLOADED. DID REMOVE PERSONAL INFORMATION PER INSTRUCTIONS ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE.
DRIVING AND 4 WHEEL DRIVE KICKED OUT. TOOK TO THE SHOP AND THEY SAID PASS AXLE C CLIP CAME OFF.
NISSAN HAS AT EACH SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS ISSUES. TSB # NTB05-118A 2004 ' 2005 TITAN AND ARMADA; OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE CABLE FREEZES; DOOR DIFFICULT TO CLOSE IN COLD TEMPERATURES NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AS WELL AS MANY MANY OTHER OWNERS AFTER DOING A GOOGLE SEARCH. STATIONARY HAPPENS EVERY NIGHT WHEN TEMPERATURES FALL BELOW 30 DEG

DRIVESHAFT FAILURE, LEADING TO DIFFERENTIAL LOCK. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, THE DRIVESHAFT CAME LOOS AND FELL OUT OF THE TRUCK. NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME SO NO ONE WAS HURT! THE PINON YOKE THAT SLIDES ONTO THE PINON GEAR SHAFT OF THE RING AND PINON DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY USING A SPLINE SHAFT. THE PINON NUT HAS COMPLETELY UNTHREADED OFF THE PINON SHAFT,BUT THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE THREADS ON THE SPLINE. AS SOON AS THE PINON NUT BEGAN TO BACK OFF IT WOULD ALL THE PINON GEAR TO MOVE AGAINST THE RING GEAR IN A FORWARD AND REARWARD MOTION AGAINST THE SHIMS. THERE IS A WIDE RANGE OF COMPLAINTS OF THE 04 TITAN FORUMS THAT HAVE INDICATED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND DRIVE SHAFT PROBLEMS AND THAT NISSAN HAS COVERED SOME OF THEM UNDER A GOOD WILL WARRANTY. IF THEY ARE KNOWING ABOUT ALL THESE PROBLEMS AND COVERING SOME OF THEM WHY ARE THEY NOT RECALLING THIS. IF ANYONE WOULD HAVE BEEN BEHIND ME THEY COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IF THIS WENT THROUGH THESE WINDOW. SD LYONS (5083369393) HAS SEEN THIS HAPPEN AND A WOMAN BEEN PARALYZED FOR LIFE AS THE DRIVE SHAFT WENT THROUGH HER WINDOW AND TOOK OFF HER ROOF AND SLICE HER HEAD. HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE BEFORE NISSAN WILL HAVE TO RECALL THIS!

FRONT LEFT AXLE SLID OUT FROM DIFFERENTIAL. THE RETAINING C-CLIP ON THE AXLE WAS INTACT BUT DID NOT RETAIN THE AXLE. THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL. THIS WAS FOUND WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. THE VEHICLE LEAKED FLUID ON THE GARAGE FLOOR, UPON INVESTIGATING THE LEAK THE FAILURE WAS IDENTIFIED. OTHERWISE THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY WITH NO INDICATION OF THE FAILURE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 60-65 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ADJUST THE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK. WHEN THE SEAT BACK BUTTON WAS RELEASED, THE SEAT BACK KEPT MOVING FORWARD. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE WITHOUT CAUSING A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 225,000.
ALL OF THE RECALLS ARE DONE, BUT THE SYSTEM KEEPS APPEARING RECALL INCOMPLETE AND I NEED TO SHIP MY CAR OVERSEAS.
WHEN STOPPING SHARPLY TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING LESS THAN 20 MPH WHICH MADE A SUDDEN TURN IN SAME LANE BRAKES FAILED. THIS CAUSED A NEAR FATALITY. THIS IS THE 7TH TIME BRAKE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED IN THIS VEHICLE DESPITE NUMEROUS REPAIRS COSTING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS--THANKFULLY NOBODY HAS BEEN KILLED OR MAIMED --YET. AT THIS POINT AND HAVING REVIEWED SIMILAR EXPERIENCES BY MANY OWNERS AND NOTING THAT FATALITIES HAVE OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECTIVE VEHICLE/DESIGN FLAW I WOULD APPRECIATE ADVICE .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD FAILED AND WAS REPLACED BY A MECHANIC ON BOTH SIDES MORE THAN ONCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED A THIRD TIME. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
EVER SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD NEVER READ FULL BUT STOP AT 7/8 OF A TANK. NOT A BIG DEAL BUT LAST NIGHT MY GAUGE READ BETWEEN 1/8 AND 1/4 TANK AND I RAN OUT OF GAS ON A MAIN ROAD AT NIGHT. THE FUEL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON AND NORMALLY DOES WHEN I AM LOW ON FUEL. DOING RESEARCH ON THIS I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR 2005-2009 TITANS FOR THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE BUT NOT 2004. READING THE FULL DESCRIPTION OF THE RECALL, IT 100% REFLECTS THE SAME ISSUE THAT I AM HAVING. I CALLED NISSAN AND SPOKE TO A REPRESENTATIVE AND SHE SAYS MY VEHICLE DOES NOT APPLY TO ANY RECALLS. SHE SAID TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT BUT FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE, THEY WILL HAVE TO DROP THE FUEL TANK WHICH WILL COST QUITE A BIT. I LOOKED ON OTHER FORUMS AND THIS SEEMS TO OF BEEN A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH 2004 MODEL YEAR BUT WHY IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL IS BEYOND ME. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BECAUSE NOW I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH FUEL IS ACTUALLY IN MY TANK AND I WOULD RATHER THIS NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I GOT LUCKY WITH THE SPOT I WAS IN WHERE MY TRUCK STALLED ON A VERY BUSY ROAD AND DID NOT GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE ATTACHED THE ORIGINAL RECALL NOTICE FOR THE 2005-2009 MODEL YEAR.
WAS COMING FROM DAUGHTERS GAME AND I MADE A LEFT TURN OUTTA PARKING LOT ALL OF A SUDDEN A HEAR A NOISE AND THEN GRINDING. I INSPECTED BRAKES AND UNDERNEATH VEHICLE I NOTICED FLUID ALL OVER FRONT DIFF . I GOT UNDERNEATH GRABBED MY DRIVERS SIDE AXLE AND SHOOK IT . IT CAME APART AND WAS COMING OUT OF DIFF. A MONTH EARLIER I NOTICED REAR DIFF HAD OIL ALL OVER IT AND OIL WAS LEAKING OUT OF REAR PINION SEAL AND BOTH REAR AXLE SEALS , DUE TO AXLE BREATHER FAILURE. I HAVE NEVER WENT OFF-ROADING OR BEAT THIS TRUCK . I AM ALSO EXPERIENCING GAS SHOOTING BACK OUT OF MY FUEL TANK FILLER TUBE . I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE TO LOCAL DEALER 2 OR 3 TIMES REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS AS IF IT'S A GUESSING GAME . I HAVE SPENT OVER 300 BUCKS THERE AND MY PROBLEM STILL EXISTS . THEN THEY GUESS AGAIN AND SAYS ITS SOMETHING ELSE. I KNOW FOR SURE THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A REAR END OR REAR DIFF ALREADY PUT IN WITH VERY VERY LOW MILES , WITH 1 ST OWNER . I AM BEING TOLD THAT MY LAST ISSUE WITH FRONT AXLE WAS C CLIP HOLDING AXLE IN FAILED AND MAY HAVE RUINED MY FRONT DIFF , I TRAVELED NO MORE THAN 2 MILES BEFORE I HEARD NOISE AND I'M LOOKING AT A 1900 PART NOT INCLUDING LABOR .

I HAVE 2004 TITAN 100,000 MILES, BOTH BACK SEALS LEAKING, HAD TO REPLACE ENTIRE BACK OF THE TRUCK. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY NISSAN UNDER A RECALL BUT ISN'T.

ALSO, THE VEHICLE WAS SLUGGISH WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WAS CRACKED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.
REAR AXLE SEAL LEAKS ARE A RECURRING PROBLEM ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD MINE REPLACED 4 TIMES AT VARIOUS POINTS OVER THE PAST 12 YEARS AND THEY ARE LEAKING AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN 12 MONTHS SINCE THE LAST REPAIR, AT WHICH TIME I ALSO REPLACED THE REAR AXLE SHAFTS IN AN ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE ONCE AND FOR ALL. FLUID LEAKING FROM THE REAR AXLES DIRECTLY ONTO THE WHEEL HUB, TIRES, BRAKE PADS AND DISCS AND ALL SURROUNDING AREAS, SATURATING THEM COMPLETELY, IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN, IN MY OPINION, AND I BELIEVE IS GROUNDS FOR A SAFETY RECALL. I BELIEVE BOTH BRAKING ABILITY COMPROMISE AND FIRE HAZARD ARE POTENTIAL RESULTS OF THIS ISSUE. AS LEAKS DEVELOP, THEY BECOME BOTH STATIC AND DYNAMIC, WHICH IS TO SAY THAT FLUID LEAKS WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE PARKED. LARGE PUDDLES OF DIFF FLUID FORM UNDER REAR WHEELS AFTER BEING PARKED FOR ANY SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME. NEARLY ALL OF MY DRIVING IS DONE ON-ROAD SO I DON'T SEE THIS ISSUE BEING RELATED TO OFF-ROAD DRIVING DAMAGE POSSIBILITY. REGARDLESS, THIS SAFETY ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND RECTIFIED BY NISSAN.
MY HUSBAND WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AUGUST 17TH 2016 RESULTING IN HIS DEATH. INVESTIGATORS CAN NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT BUT HIS VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. WE'RE NOT EVEN CERTAIN THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. WHEN I LOOKED AT THE TRUCK AFTER THE ACCIDENT THERE WAS NO PROOF THE AIRBAGS HAD DEPLOYED AND CAUSE FOR FIRE IS UNKNOWN. INCIDENT 1: I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT AND APPLIED THE BRAKE. ONCE THE BRAKE WAS APPLIED, THE BRAKE PEDAL PUSHED BACK AT ME AS IF THE ABS SYSTEM HAD BEEN ACTIVATED, AND THERE WAS A LOUD SOUND THAT I KNOW TO BE CAUSED BY THE ABS SYSTEM BEING USED. LUCKILY, WHEN THIS HAPPENED I WAS ABOUT TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPOT AND IT HAD A CURB. KNOWING THAT MY BRAKES WERE PARTIALLY COMPROMISED, I SLOWLY ENTERED THE PARKING STALL AND NEEDED MINIMAL BRAKING. I NOTICED THAT MY EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT, VDC OFF LIGHT, AND MY SLIP LIGHT WERE ALL ILLUMINATED. AT THIS POINT I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND WALKED AROUND IT LOOKING FOR ANY EVIDENCE OF A BRAKE FLUID LEAK OR ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. I DIDN'T SEE ANY BRAKE FLUID OR ANY FLUIDS OR CONTAMINANTS ON THE BRAKE DISCS. I RETURNED SEVERAL MINUTES LATER AND TURNED ON THE CAR AND IT PERFORMED AS NORMAL FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND DISMISSED IT AS AN UNUSUAL ONE TIME FLUKE. ONE WEEK LATER, I HAD A VERY SIMILAR INCIDENT DETAILED BELOW. INCIDENT 2: AGAIN, I WAS GOING THROUGH A PARKING LOT AT LESS THAN 10 MPH, AND WAS ABOUT TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE. THIS TIME, IT DID NOT START UNTIL I WAS PULLING INTO THE SPACE, SO I HAD NO WARNING THAT I WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME STOPPING. LUCKILY, I HAD A CURB AT THE END OF MY PARKING SPACE. ONCE I FELT THE KICK BACK I IMMEDIATELY PRESSED ON THE BRAKE AS HARD AS POSSIBLE AND SLOWLY CAME TO A STOP A FEW INCHES AWAY FROM THE CURB. I THEN SAW THE SAME WARNING LIGHTS THE SAME AS BEFORE. DEALERSHIP VISIT: AT THIS POINT, I KNEW IT WASN'T A ONE TIME THING AND TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER LATER THAT DAY. THEY TOLD ME MY DELTA STROKE SENSOR WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE NOT HAD IT FIXED YET, AND DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS A PERMANENT FIX. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL OTHERS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM, JUST MORE SIGNIFICANT. DEFINITELY WILL BE A LONG TIME BEFORE I FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS TRUCK AGAIN.
ON THE WAY TO WORK WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC, I LIGHTLY APPLIED BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN, I FELT LOUD GRINDING AND SHAKING AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. TRIED TO STOP THE CAR AND PRESSED BRAKE PEDAL BUT IT WAS PUSHED DOWN ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. PUMPED PEDAL NUMEROUS TIMES , IT STOPPED. THE SPEED WAS ABOUT 15 MPH WHEN IT OCCURRED AND I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR. SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE, IT LOOKED EVERYTHING TURNED OUT TO BE NORMAL, ACTS LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. CALLED NISSAN COMPANY, BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. I GOGGLED IT AND FOUND OUT MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE BUT NISSAN COMPANY DID NOT DO ANYTHING ON THIS. IN JULY 2016, I APPEALED TO NISSAN NORTH AMERICA FOR PAINT DEFECTS ON MY TRUCK. THE PAINT CONTINUES TO PEEL OFF . MY TRUCK IN PATCHES AND HAS HAD NO OTHER REPAIRS. I DID A PRESURSORY SEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND NUMEROUS OWNERS WITH PAINT DELAMINATING,PEELING OFF AND CHIPPING.I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN AND THEY DENIED MY CLAIM STATING THAT IT WAS AATTACHED TO A PAST WARRANTY, BUT IT CLEARLY IS A LARGER ISSUE. I LOOKED AT THE CLUB NISSAN FORUM, AND CARCOMPLAINTS WEBSITE AND OTHERS ARE HAVING A SIMILAR ISSUE.

I NOTICED IN MAY, 2016 THAT A PAINT SPOT ABOUT THE SIZE OF A QUARTER ON TOP OF MY RIGHT FRONT FENDER WAS MISSING. I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY PAINT SEEMS TO BE CHIPPING ALONG THE EDGES. WHEN I WAS LOADING UP MY TRUCK THIS WEEKEND, I NOTICED THAT THE PAINT ON MY ROOF IS CHIPPING ALL ALONG THE RAIN GUTTERS ON BOTH SIDES.

CRUISE CONTROL WILL STOP WHEN HITTING A BUMP FUEL SPILLS OUT WHILST TRYING TO PUT GAS INTO THE TRUCK. CERTAIN TIMES THE BRAKES WANT WORK UNTIL YOU PUT THE TRUCK IN THE PARKING POSITION.
THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE EXTREMELY PRONE TO CRACKING. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF REPORTS ONLINE OF THEM CRACKING SO NISSAN IS CERTAINLY AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THEY CRACKED ON MY VEHICLE AND EXHAUST GASSES LEAK INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT SO THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD.

I'M FILING A COMPLAINT FOR THE MISSED RECALL ON THE NISSAN TITAN! THE DESIGN OF THE REAR AXLE OF THIS VEHICLE CAUSES A REAR AXLE SEAL LEAK. MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER EST. REPAIR AT $3,507.50 AND HE TOLD ME THE IT IS NOT UNCOMMON FOR BOTH TO FAIL AT THE SAME TIME. NISSAN CUSTOMER SUPPORT WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. I STARTED HAVE PROBLEM AT 100.000 MILE I AM AT 124.000 NOW. FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE MADE INTO A RECALL. MY TRUCK LOOKS LIKE NEW FROM THE OUTSIDE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,770.
WHEN DRIVING TRUCK ENGINE SHUTS COMPLETELY DOWN INCLUDING ON HIGHWAY AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED.
I BACKED MY CAR OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND PROCEEDED APPROXIMATELY 100 YARDS TOWARD THE ENTRANCE TO MY SUBDIVISION. I APPLIED BRAKES TO STOP. THE BRAKE PEDAL PULSED AS IF ABS WAS ACTIVE AND WENT NEARLY TO THE FLOOR. THE ROAD WAS DRY YET THE ABS ACTED AS IF I WERE ON ICE. I PUMPED THE BRAKES MULTIPLE TIMES. EACH TIME THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITH ABS PULSING. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOP BEFORE ENTERING THE INTERSECTION. A WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED - I DON'T REMEMBER IF IT WAS BRAKE OR ABS. I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURNED IT OFF. UPON RESTART THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS AND THE BRAKES FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. I PARKED THE VEHICLE PENDING DIAGNOSIS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS ISSUES DOCUMENTED ONLINE POINTING TO THE DELTA STROKE SENSOR. IT SEEMS THAT A PROBLEM WITH THIS SENSOR COMPROMISES THE FUNCTION OF THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM.
REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE
WHILE DRIVING MY 2004 TITAN, I NOTICED A BANGING AND CLANGING SOUND. I THOUGHT IT WAS A LIMB STUCK IN MY TIRE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, I NOTICED OIL ON THE INSIDE REAR ROTOR, PASSENGER SIDE. I WAS ALREADY MILES FROM HOME ON A HUNTING TRIP. I ONLY HAVE 79,000 MILES ON THE TRUCK. AFTER HUNTING, I LIMPED MY TRUCK ABOUT 30 MILES HOME, TRAVELLING ABOUT 35 MPH, WHILE IT IS BANGING AND CLANGING, SOUNDING AS THOUGH THE WHEEL IS ABOUT TO FALL OFF. I MADE SEVERAL STOPS ON THE WAY HOME TO MAKE SURE THE WHEEL WAS STILL SECURE. I FEEL BLESSED TO MAKE IT HOME AS THE WHEEL STARTED TO BIND WHEN I HIT THE DRIVEWAY. AFTER TALKING TO SEVERAL MECHANICS, THEY HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE ALOT. THE REPAIR WILL COST SOMEWHERE BETWEEN $3,000 TO $4,000. APPARENTLY THE AXLE SEAL BLEW WITHOUT WARNING AND NOW THIS HAS CHEWED UP THE GEARS INSIDE AND DESTROYED THE HOUSING. THE MECHANICS SIMPLY SUGGESTED TO BUY THE ENTIRE REAR AXLE AND REPLACE. THEY ALSO STATED THE ORIGINAL DESIGN WAS PISS-POOR. OF COURSE, THIS HAPPENS AFTER PLACING $2,000 REPLACING THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS THAT WERE UNDER WARRANTY FOR 80,000 MILES AND 10 YEARS OLD. MINE WERE 11 YEARS OLD AND THE TRUCK HAD 79,000 MILES ON IT. THE LOCAL GARAGE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO HELP. IT WAS MORE THAN 10 YEARS OLD. I WOULD HOPE THERE IS SOMETHING YOU COULD DO TO MAKE THE MANUFACTURER LIABLE FOR THIS EXPENSIVE REPAIR. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

FLUID TO NISSAN RECOMMENDED TYPE AT 35K, NO TOWING, NO HARD DRIVING, AND LESS THAN 1 HOUR TOTAL LIFETIME USE OF 4X4.

PULLED OUT OF THE GAS STATION BY OUR HOUSE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND A WEIRD NOISE WOULD SOUND ANYTIME I WOULD TAP MY BRAKES . PULLED OVER RESTARTED THE CAR AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE AGAIN AND STILL IS !

IT STARTED SPEWING ALL OVER THE PLACE AND WHEN I TRIED TO COME TO A STOP IT TOOK WAY LONGER THAN NORMAL FORCING ME TO SWERVE TO MISS A PEDESTRIAN AND HITTING THE CURB AND A BUSH. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL BECAUSE THE DIFFERENTIAL LEAKING ON THE BRAKES IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY CONCERN.
I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK WHEN MY LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON; MY GAUGE SHOWED APPROXIMATELY 1/8 REMAINING. THIS WAS NORMAL, AND THE POINT WHERE THE LOW FUEL LIGHT NORMALLY TURNED ON. THE NEXT MORNING, ON MY WAY TO WORK, THE LIGHT TURNED OFF AND THE NEEDLE SHOWED JUST OVER 1/8 TANK. THIS WAS ALSO NORMAL FOR THE LIGHT TO SWITCH ON AND OFF AS THE LEVEL TEETERED AROUND THE SWITCH POINT. A FEW MILES INTO MY TRIP, THE NEEDLE JUMPED TO AROUND 1/4 TANK, WHICH WAS NOT NECESSARILY NORMAL, BUT I HAD NO REASON TO QUESTION THE LEVEL BASED ON THE PREVIOUS ACCURACY OF MY GAUGE. HALFWAY TO WORK I LOST POWER, AND HAD TO PULL OVER ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. MY TRUCK WOULD NOT START, ALTHOUGH IT STILL SHOWED 1/4 TANK REMAINING. I DID AN INTERNET SEARCH ON MY PHONE FOR /2004 TITAN FUEL GAUGE PROBLEM/ AND IMMEDIATELY GOT RASHES OF HITS FOR DESCRIPTIONS EXACTLY LIKE MINE WHERE THEIR TITANS SHOWED 1/4 TANK REMAINING, BUT RAN OUT OF FUEL. AFTER WALKING A 4 MILE ROUND-TRIP TO THE NEAREST GAS STATION AND BACK, I PUT GAS IN THE TANK, AND DROVE TO WORK. AFTER A QUICK INTERNET SEARCH I FOUND A RECALL NHTSA# 10V074000 FOR 2005-2009 TITANS (MINE IS A 2004) AND NISSAN SERVICE BULLETIN EL08-013A FOR 2004-2009 TITANS. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN AMERICA THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, AND WILL NOT BE COVERED. I AM FINE WITH A FUEL SENSOR FAILING AFTER 186,000 MILES AND NOT BEING COVERED, BUT NOT IF IDENTICAL VEHICLES (2005-2009) WITH IDENTICAL HARDWARE ARE BEING RECALLED AND RECOGNIZED AS HAVING SAFETY ISSUES. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON THEIR 2004 TITANS, AND THEY NEED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. PEDAL WAS SOFT AND MADE A GRINDING NOISE. BRAKES WORKED BUT NOT VERY WELL. TOOK A VIDEO OF IT WITH MY CELL PHONE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND THEY RESET SOMETHING. THEY SAID IT MAY OR MAY NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. IT DIDN'T. THEY SAID THE REPAIR WOULD COST $900.00. I THINK IT SHOULD BE FREE.
