WHILKE DRIVING THE VDC, SLIP AND EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT COME ON. THIS IS AN INTERMITTIENT PROBLEM. I WENT TO THE DEALER, QUALITY NISSAN IN TEMECULA CALIFORNIA, ONLY TO GET BLOWN OFF, TOLD COME IN WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON. I PAID FOR A FULL WARRANTY 100K MILES AND I AM CONSIDERED A PREFERRED CUSTOMER, RIGHT!. WHEN THE LIGHTS COME ON THE TRUCK SEEMS TO LOSE POWER, WHICH IS A CHACTERISTIC OF THE VDC SYSTEM. THE PROBLEM CONES AND GOES. *AK
STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE FASTER THE TRAVELING SPEED AND THE HARDER THE BRAKING ACTION THE MORE SEVERE THE VIBRATION WAS.*AK
I LEASED A TITAN CREW LE ON TAX DAY 2004. AT 5000 MILES, THE FRONT ROTORS WERE SHOT AND THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK VIOLENTLY UPON BRAKING ON THE FREEWAY. THE TRUCK WOULD ALSO PULL ONE DIRECTION OR ANOTHER UPON BRAKING. THE DEALERSHIP (KAYSER NISSAN) FIXED THE PROBLEM. AT 10,000 MILES, THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP THIS TIME SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLACE THE ROTORS BUT SHAVED THEM DOWN AND REPLACED THE SLIDERS. AT 15,000 MILES, THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED. I'VE TRIED ANOTHER DEALERSHIP IN TOWN WITH A BETTER REPUTATION FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET PARTS FOR OVER 3 WEEKS. IN THE MEAN TIME, MY KIDS HAVE TO DRIVE IN AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. I TOW NOTHING WITH THIS TRUCK. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING 20-50 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR WHEN DEPRESSED. HE CONTINUED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG. THE BRAKES FAILED AGAIN AND WERE REPLACED, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 89,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE ARE TIMES WILL THE BRAKES WILL NOT PERFORM CORRECTLY AT LOW SPEEDS. THE PEDAL WILL GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND A SECOND LATER THE BRAKES LOCK UP INCREASING STOPPING DISTANCE. UPDATED 10/24/07. *JB
BOUGHT VEHICLE IN MARCH OF 2004, REPLACE PADS IN EARLY MAY. THE ROTORS THEN WENT OUT JUNE 30. REPLACE AND LASTED 3 DAYS BEFORE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER. LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL LIGHT IS NOW COMING ON. STEREO DOES NOT HOLD A STATION. TRUCK HAS HAD NEW BRAKES 3 TIMES IN 3.5 MONTHS. *LA
RECENTLY PURCHASED 2004 NISSAN TITAN (JANUARY 10TH, 04). WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD 5500 MILES ON THE O.D. I HAD THE FRONT ROTORS REPLACED DUE TO WARPPING. I DID NOT TOW ANYTHING WITH THIS VEHICLE DURING THE INITIAL 5500 MILES. MAINLY INTERSTATE DRIVING.*AK THE VEHICLE NOW IN THE SHOP WITH 12113 MILES HAVING THE ROTOR REPLACED AGAIN. I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A DEFECTIVE PART MANUFACTURED FOR THIS VEHICLE. MY DRIVING HABITS ARE NOT SUCH THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS MUCH EXCESSIVE BRAKE ROTOR WARPPING. THESE BRAKES ARE NOT CHEAP TO REPLACE, I THINK IT IS UNREALISTIC TO ADVERTISE A VEHICLE CAN TOW 9400 LBS AND CANNOT EVEN STOP WITH ITS OWN BODY WEIGHT, LESS ANY TOWING. THE BRAKE SYSTEM IN MY OPPINION IS UNDER SIZED OR THERE IS A MANUFACTURE SPEC THAT IS NOT BEING MET. GOD FORBIDE I ACTUALLY USED THIS VEHICLE TO TOW AS ADVERTISED. I COULD NOT AFFORD TO KEEP DECENT BRAKES ON IT.
UNSAFE AND NO FIXABLE FRONT BRAKES VIBRATION AND QUESTIONABLE FRONT END STABILITY. *AK
WHEN PUTTING THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGED INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER STATED THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB

2004 NISSAN TITAN DEVELOPED BRAKE "JUDDER" AT APPROXIMATELY 4000 MILES. DEALER REPLACED PADS AND RESURFACED ROTORS - PROBLEM REMAINS. *JB NISSAN DESIGN WAS FAULTY - NEED NEW CALIPERS AND/OR ROTORS.
FRONT BRAKE PADS, AND ROTORS, ARE BEING REDONE AGAIN, AT 11700 MILES. THIS WAS DONE BEFORE AT AROUND 7000-800 MILES. I AM WORRIED, THAT THEY WILL GO OUT AGAIN, AND THAT I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THEM AGAIN IN ANOTHER 10000 MILES, AND I WILL THEN HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM, ESPECIALLY IF THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. THE SENSOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WILL NOT ACTIVATE WITH A 120 LB PASSENGER. *AK
APPLY BRAKES AT ANY SPEED ABOVE 25MPH AND HAVE ALOT OF SHUDDER IN THE FRONT-END. NISSAN NEEDS TO LOOK AT REPLACING ROTORS FOR THE TITAN.*AK
MY 120LB WIFE DOES NOT ACTIVATE THE SEAT SENSOR FOR THE AIRBAG IN MY 04 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN 100% OF THE TIME, IT HAS OCCURRED REPEATEDLY. THE DEALER CHECKED & CONFIRMED THAT THE SYSTEM IS OPERATING NORMALLY AND STATED THAT THEY COULD DO NOTHING MORE. AT THIS POINT MY WIFE IS RIDING IN OUR TRUCK WITHOUT AN AIRBAG. WHILE SHE DOES WEAR A SEATBELT, I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE COMFORT OF KNOWING THE FULL SAFETY SYSTEM IS OPERATIONAL IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. RESEARCH AND OTHER COMPLAINTS POSTED HERE SHOW TAHT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED PROBLEM. *MR
NO CRASHES OR INJURIES. THE ADVANCED AIRBAG SYSTEM ON OUR 2004 NISSAN TITAN DISABLES PASSENGER AIRBAG WHEN A 132 POUND FEMALE IS PROPERLY SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.*AK WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THIS PROBLEM IN EVERY 2004 NISSAN TITAN AT A LOCAL DEALER'S LOT. *AK OUR DEALER STATES 125 POUNDS ON THE SEAT SENSOR ITSELF IS NECESSARY TO ENABLE THE AIRBAG, CLAIMED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AND REFUSED TO RUN ANY DIAGNOSTICS ON THE SYSTEM. THE NISSAN WEBSITE CLAIMS 47 POUNDS, CONSUMER AFFAIRS STATES 60 POUNDS IS NECESSARY TO ENABLE THE ADVANCED AIRBAG. IT IS UNCLEAR IF THIS IS POUNDS OF PRESSURE EXERTED ON THE SEAT SENSOR ITSELF, OR IF A PERSON OF THIS PHYSICAL WEIGHT, SEATED PROPERLY, WOULD HAVE AN AIRBAG. MY 132 POUND WIFE IS EXERTING ABOUT 110 POUNDS OF WEIGHT ON THE SEAT ITSELF.
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY AND THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP COMPLETELY. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE BRAKES AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND REPLACED IT FOUR TIMES. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS AT THIS TIME. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *NM
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACE AND REPLACED IT THREE TIMES. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS AT THIS TIME. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG REMAINS DEACTIVATED ~50% OF THE TIME WITH A 125 LB PASSENGER IN SEAT. *JB
THE CONSUMER HAD THE BRAKES SERVICED FIVE TIMES DURING THE PAST YEAR. WHEN TAKEN TO GET SERVICED, THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. *AK THE FIRST TIME THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED BECAUSE OF WARPING. *SC
REAR AXLE LEAKED. AS A RESULT, THE BRAKE PEDAL SLAMMED TO THE FLOOR. CONSUMER HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES IN ORDER FOR THE BRAKES TO WORK. *AK
THE DESIGN OF THE HEADLIGHT ON/OFF SWITCH IN THE SHARED HEADLIGHT/TURN SIGNAL STALK HAS ALLOWES ME TO INADVERTENTLY TURN OFF THE HEADLIGHTS WHEN PUSHING UP OR DOWN ON THE STALK TO USE THE TURN SIGNAL. IT SEEMS THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH PROVIDES TOO LITTLE MECHANICAL RESISTANCE.
THE RF STEREO FADES FROM STEREO TO MONO, AND HAS VERY LOW SOUND OUTPUT. THE AUX INPUT ALSO HAS A VERY LOW NOTICEABLE SOUND LEVEL OUTPUT IN COMPARISON TO CD PLAYER. CONTACTED NISSAN AND STATED THEY HAD NO IDEA OF THE PROBLEM---SHADY IF YOU ASK ME. THE SOUND PACKAGE COST $1800 DOLLARS, BUT THE SIMPLE RADIO SOUNDS LIKE A FIVE DOLLAR STEREO. ALSO THE SYTSEM IS SUPPOSED TO BE MADE BY ROCKFORD FOSGATE, BUT THE AMPLIFIER IS LABELED MADE BY CLARION, THE SUBWOOOFER IS LABELED MADE BY CLARION, AND THE HEADUNIT/CHANGER IS LABELED MADE BY PANASONIC. I AM A LITTLE CONCERNED AS THIS IS THE REASON I BOUGHT THE PACKAGE AS IT WAS SUPPOSED TO MADE BY A QUALITY MANUFACTURER LIKE FOSGATE
FRONT BRAKE ROTORS ARE WARPED AFTER ONLY 7,000 MILES. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED AND NOT BAND AID PATCHED AS I AM SEEING AT THIS TIME BY THE DEALERS.*AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE ROTORS, DISC, AND BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND REPLACED THEM TWICE. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
TITAN WITH FULL MFG TOW PACKAGE PURCHASED TO TOW TRAVEL TRAILER. TITAN RATED BY DEALER & MFG TO TOW 9,400 LBS AND GVWR AT 14,600 LBS. WHEN TOWING 8,000 LBS (GVW WAS 13,500) AT 50 MPH ON FLAT ROAD, NO WIND, APPROX 85 DEG F TRANSMISSION TEMP ROSE INTO DANGER ZONE. WEIGHTS WERE CONFIRMED AT CERTIFIED SCALE. VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER WITH DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM. DEALER SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH VEHICLE BUT TOW WAS TOO HEAVY. MFG AGREED WITH DEALER THAT TOW WAS TOO HEAVY AFTER CONSULTING WITH THEIR ENGINEERS. NEITHER COULD EXPLAIN HOW 8,000 LBS WAS HEAVIER THAN 9,600 LBS. MFG ASKED IF I WOULD AGREE TO A TEST DRIVE. I AGREED BUT DEALER WAS NON RESPONSIVE AND NOT AVAILABLE. NOTHING WAS DONE AND WE WERE FORCED TO TRADE TRAILER FOR LOWER WEIGHT TRAILER. WE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IN JULY 2004 ON A HILL WITH 6,340 LB (GVW 12,140) TOW. I ADVISED MGF AGAIN AND THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING. *AK
PARKING BRAKE DOES NOT FUNCTION. IT WAS WEAK WHEN IT WAS NEW AND I BROUGHT IT UP TO THE DEALER. THEY ADJUSTED IT BUT DID NOT IMPROVE. IT IS TOTALLY WORTHLESS AT THIS POINT. *KB
HORRIBLE FM RADIO RECEPTION. STATIC,TREBLE FADES THE AUTOMATIC FEATURE ON THE POWER WINDOWS DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. WHEN WINDOWS ARE ALL THE WAY DOWN AND YOU HIT THE AUTO UP BUTTON, THE WINDOW TRIES TO GO UP AND THEN GOES BACK DOWN. IT THEN WILL NOT WORK FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON AFTER EXTENDED DRIVING.
PASSENGER AIRBAG REMAINS TURNED OFF WITH 170 POUND PASSENGER. SENSOR TOO FAR FORWARD AND IF SITTING NORMALLY DOESN'T ACTIVATE, HAVE TO MOVE FORWARD ON SEAT TO ACTIVATE. *LA
ONCE THE VEHICLE HITS 60 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON 4 OCCASIONS. MANUFACTURER STATED TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER.*AK
I OWN A 2004 NISSAN TITAN WITH 3000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE INADVERTENTLY TURNED THE HEADLIGHTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT AT LEAST 10 TIMES IN THIS TIME FRAME. THE REASON FOR THIS IS A COMBINATION OF A LARGE TWIST KNOB AND A WEAK DETENT TO HOLD THE SWITCH IN THE ON POSITION. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED DEFECT IN MY SWITCH, RATHER A DESIGN DEFECT OF ALL TITAN SWITCHES AS I HAVE LOOKED AT OTHER NEW ONES ON THE NISSAN DEALER'S LOT. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE ON-OFF TWIST KNOB IS LOCATED AT THE END OF THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH SO WHEN YOU EITHER TURN THE TURN SIGNAL ON OR FLIP THE SWITCH FORWARD OR BACK WITH YOUR FINGERS TO CHANGE THE LIGHTS FROM BRIGHT TO DIM THE SWITCH IS VERY EASY TO TURN OFF BY ACCIDENT. WHEN THIS HAPPENS ON A DARK ROAD IT IS VERY ALARMING AND I FEEL MAY EVENTUALLY LEAD TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE TWIST KNOB IS SO LARGE IN COMPARISON TO OTHER SWITCHES OF THIS TYPE THAT THERE IS TREMENDOUS LEVERAGE TO ACCIDENTLY TWIST IT IF YOU DONT GRAP IT EXACTLY IN THE CENTER. NISSAN HAS TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AND I AM THE ONLY ONE BUT I DON'T BELIEVE IT. I OWN AN AUTOMOBILE REPAIR BUSINESS AND HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SINCERLY BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW IN THIS SWITCH WHICH WILL LIKELY LEAD TO SOMEONE LOSING THEIR LIFE AS THIS TRUCK BECOMES MORE POPULAR.*AK
PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE'S PASSENGER SIDE DOOR NOT LOCKING.*MR THE PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO ORDERED THE PARTS AND CONTACTED THE CONSUMER WHEN THEY ARRIVED. AFTER THE PARTS WERE REPLACED THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THE INCORRECT PARTS WERE ORDERED/RECEIVED AND THEY PLACED A NEW ORDER. TO DATE THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER IS SEEKING FINANCIAL COMPENSATION FOR RENTAL FEES AND CAR PAYMENTS SIN THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN HER POSSESSION. *NM IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FACTORY PUT IN POWER DOOR LOCKS ON THE VEHICLE WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN EQUIPPED WITH MANUAL DOOR LOCKS. *JB
THE STEREO FM STATIONS CONTINUOUSLY FADE INTO MONO TYPE SOUND AND WEAK RADIO RECEPTION PARTICULARLY AFTER ENGAGING BUMPS IN ROAD OR MAKING A TURN. THE SOUND TENDS TO CORRECT ITSELF TEMPORARILY WHEN ON SMOOTH ROAD SURFACE OR STOPPED. DEALER BLAMED THE ISSUE ON LOCAL WEAK FM BROADCAST OF RADIO STATIONS. ALSO STATED, NOTHING CAN BE DONE AND WAIT FOR RECALL. *LA
ROTORS ON VEHICLE HAVE WARPED TWICE IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS.*AK
HEADLIGHT SWITCH DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH RESISTANCE TO ROTATING. I HAVE TURNED OFF HEADLIGHTS SEVERAL TIMES WHEN SIGNALING A LANE CHANGE OR USING DIMMER SWITCH. *LA
CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE REAR MIDDLE SEAT BELT BUCKLE DID NOT LOCK PROPERLY. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE SEAT BELTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
PAINT SCRATCHES VERY EASILY, NUMEROUS PAINT CHIPS ON ACCEPTANCE OF VEHICLE. CHIPS WERE CORRECTED BY DEALER. DEALER OFFERED TO RUB-OUT SCRATCHES- NO IMPROVEMENT NOTED. TECH COMMENTED THAT THE CLEAR COAT WAS APPLIED TOO HEAVILY, BUT DEALER SUGGESTED THAT I LIVE WITH IT. *AK
1) DASH RATTLES IN SEVERAL PLACES WHEN WEATHER IS BELOW 60 DEGREES F. 2) STEARING WHEEL CLICKS WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS ABOVE 50 MPH. 3) ENGINE NO LONGER SOUNDS LIKE IT DID WHEN PURCHASED. IT KNOCKS. 4) TRANSMISSION CLICKS EVERY TIME I STOP THE TRUCK. I HAVE AN ARBITRATION HEARING THRU THE STATE OF GEORGIA LEMON LAW IN JULY. *AK
VEHICLE JUMPED OUT OF PARK INTO REVERSE WHILE PARKED WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. WHEN THIS OCCURRED TRANSMISSION WAS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE. AS A RESULT, VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION, IT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. *AK *MR

DT: THE CONTACT STATED THE REAR SEAT BELTS ARE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. WHEN THE SEAT BELTS ARE IN LOCK MODE AND THEN RELEASED, THE SEAT BELTS LOCK AND WILL NOT PULL OUT FOR USE. DEALERSHIP INSTALLED NEW SEAT BELTS, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. HE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY HAD NO INFORMATION ON THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM EXISTED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED.*AK
THE PARKING PALM DOES NOT ENGAGE IF THE VEHICLE IS ROCKING FORWARD OR BACKWARDS.*MR A A RESULT THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. *NM
THE CONSUMER REFUELS THE VEHICLE BY PLACING THE PUMP HANDLE IN THE FIXED POSITION. AFTER ABOUT 2 GALLONS OF FUEL HAS FLOWED INTO THE TANK FUEL OVERFLOWS ONTO THE GROUND. *NM
2004 NISSAN TITAN BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEMS. CUSTOMER STATES THE BRAKES ARE PREMATURELY WEARING, WHICH CAUSES STEERING PROBLEMS AND VIBRATION. *KB THE CONSUMER BEGAN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES AT 12,000 MILES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS DUE TO THEM BEING WARPED. WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. YET, THE BRAKE SYSTEM DID NOT SLOW OR STOP THE VEHICLE. NISSAN HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE PROBLEM A NUMBER OF TIMES. THE MECHANIC DID NOTICE THE BRAKE PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR AND THE BOOSTER SIMULTANEOUSLY MAKING A NOISE. *JB
