EXCESSIVE SHAKING IN THE STEERING WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. TOOK TO NISSAN DEALER 3 TIMES IN 16000 MILES ROTORS WERE TURNED ONCE HAPPENED AGAIN THEN ROTORS AND BRAKES REPLACED THE 2ND TIME NOW HAD TO TURN ROTORS AGAIN. *JB SOMETHING IS WRONG BUT THEY SAY IM TOO HARD ON MY BRAKES AND I KNOW THAT'S BULLS.. *JB
REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS GROANING, TOOK TO DEALER HAD IT REPLACED. 2ND DIFFERENTIAL BLEW TOOK IT TO DEALER HAD REPLACED. 3RD DIFFERENTIAL BLEW TOOK IT TO DEALER HAD IT REPLACED. 4TH DIFFERENTIAL BLEW TOOK IT TO DEALER HAD IT REPLACED 5TH DIFFERENTIAL BLEW TOOK IT TO DEALER HAD IT REPLACED. DONE RIGHT ? SOMETHING IS HORRIBLY WRONG WITH MY TRUCK TO HAVE BROKEN 5 DIFFERENTIAL IN 41000 MILES. *JB
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 55 MPH AND VEHICLE STALLED. CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE, AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. HOWEVER, MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
BRAKE KEEP HAVING PROBLEMS, SHAKE VIOLENTLY ENOUGH TO BE ON THE EDGE OF LOOSING CONTROL IN WET CONDITIONS. *NM
PREMATURE FAILURE OF FRONT BRAKE ROTORS. FRONT BRAKES SHUDDER AND VIBRATE EXTREMELY BAD WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. DEALER WILL REFINISH ROTORS AND INSTALL NEW FRONT BRAKE PADS FOR A TEMPORAIRY REPAIR. I HAVE DRIVEN 9400 MILES TOTAL ON THIS VEHICLE WITH THREE SET OF FRONT BRAKES REPLACED. HAVE NOT TOWED ANY TRAILER OR VEHICLE WITH IT TO CAUSE FAILURE. BRAKING SYSTEM IS INSUFFICIENT FOR THIS VEHICLE AND TITAN TRUCKS MUST BE RECALLED FOR THE SAFETY OF THE OWNERS OF THIS PRODUCT IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE THAT CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND INJURY TO IT'S OCCUPANTS. NISSAN WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PROBLEM TO IT'S OWNERS AND THE NHTSA MUST STEP IN AND HAVE THEM RECALLED AT ONCE.*AK
VEHICLE VIBRATED/SHOOK WHEN BRAKING. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO HAD TO TURN BOTH FRONT ROTORS, AND REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS.*AK
THE BRAKE ON MY 04 NISSAN TITAN WOULD QUIT WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND IT PULSATED AND SEEMED TO HAVE NO BRAKE. ALL THE SERVICE LIGHTS WENT ON. I HAVE NO CONTROL OF THE BRAKE AT ALL. VERY SCARY FEELING. I HAD TO PULL OVER THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED AND THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. IT HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW IN 04 AND STILL HAVE IT NOW 2013. IT HAPPENS ABOUT 5-7 TIMES EVERY YEAR. NISSAN NEEDS TO OWN UP TO IT AND REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE A LOT OF DISCUSSIONS ABOUT THE DELTA STROKE SENSOR. THEY NEED TO FIX THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GOT KILLED AND THEN THEY WILL HAVE A BIG LAWSUIT IN THEIR HANDS. *TR
STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION AND BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING. DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT PADS AND RESURFACED THE ROTORS. AFTER READING ALL OF THE OTHER COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, I'M PROBABLY GOING TO BE BACK AT THE DEALER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM IN A COUPLE OF THOUSAND MILES. I STILL LIKE MY TRUCK THOUGH!!!*AK
THE RADIO COMPONENT OF THE STEREO SYSTEM IS HORRIBLE!! HAVE HAD IT CHECKED THREE TIMES, AND ALL THEY SAY IT IS IS A LOOSE ANTENNA!!!! RECEPTION SOUNDS TERRIBLE, LIKE POCKET TRANSISTOR RADIO. CD PLAYER SOUNDS TERRIFIC! BUT, FOR $1200 UPGRADE STEREO, RADIO SHOULD SOUND GREAT. RECEPTION FADES IN AND OUT, AND SOUNDS LIKE MONO, NOT STEREO.*AK
DT: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STOPPING THE FRONT END VIBRATED. TWICE WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, NOTHING HAPPENED AND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SLIDE OFF THE ROAD, AND DENTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP NINE TIMES FOR THESE PROBLEMS. THE DEALERSHIP ROTATED THE TIRES ONCE, CHANGED THE BRAKE PADS, ROTORS, AND DISCS, AND REPLACED THE TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT VIBRATING AS MUCH, BUT THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. *AK UPDATED 12/7/2005. *NM

WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, THE AIRBAG ON THE STEERING WHEEL DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
WATER LEAK ON FRONT FLOORBOARDS.FLOORBOARD SOKED WITH WATER.DEALER ADVISES LEAK WAS EVAPORATION DRAINTUBE,1.5 INCHES OF HALF INCH ID HOSE ADDED TO EVAPORATION TUBE AND REINSTALLED GUTTER.RECHECKED ,NO FURTHER SIGNS OF LEAKS DETECTED ADVISED THE DEALER. THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM /11-30 -04 3RD TIME BACK FOR THIS PROBLEM. *AK
THE SEAT BELT RETRACTORS IN THE REAR ARE DEFECTIVE. THEY DO NOT ALLOW FOR MOVEMENT, AND GET TIGHTER AND TIGHTER UNTIL YOU HAVE TO UNBUCKLE (DEFEATING THE PURPOSE OF A SEAT BELT) AND READJUST. SEE THE OTHER IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE FOR DETAILS. MY PROBLEM IS JUST AS THEY DESCRIBE. IN DEALING WITH THE NISSAN DEALER, THEY FIRST SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I TOOK THE SERVICE WRITER TO THE VEHICLE, AND DEMONSTRATED THE PROBLEM FOR HIM. HE THEN REPLIED "OH THAT PROBLEM (I HAD MADE THE PROBLEM PERFECTLY CLEAR WHEN I TOOK IT IN), WELL, THEY ALL DO THAT. WE HAD ANOTHER CUSTOMER COMPLAIN, AND WE CHECKED AN 06 MODEL, AND THEY WORK THE SAME WAY". ALL THAT MEANS IS THAT 04 AND 06 ARE DEFECTIVE, AND PROBABLY THE 05 AS WELL. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK IN TO SERVICE THIS ISSUE THREE TIMES, ALWAYS WITH THE SAME RESULT: DENIAL THAT THE PROBLEM EXISTS, AND THEN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT "THEY ALL DO THAT" (AND IMPLYING THAT THEY CAN'T FIX IT SINCE "THEY ALL DO THAT"). YESTERDAY A SERVICE WRITER ADMITTED NISSAN WAS AWARE, WORKING ON A FIX, BUT DIDN'T HAVE ONE YET. 800-NISSAN1 DENIES THAT ANY DEFECT INVESTIGATION (OR SOLUTION) IS UNDER WAY ON THIS PROBLEM. SOMEONE IS NOT BEING HONEST. THE FOLLOWING SEEMS CLEAR FROM MY EXPERIENCE AND THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE: 1) THE DEFECT EXISTS, 2) NISSAN HAS FAILED TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT'S EXISTENCE, AND 3) NISSAN HAS NOT ADDRESSED THE ISSUE (THEY ARE STILL PRODUCING VEHICLES WITH THE SAME DEFECT. I INVITE THE NHTSA INVESTIGATOR TO CONTACT ME, VIEW MY VEHICLE TO CONFIRM THE EXISTANCE OF THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM. FOR THAT MATTER, VIEW ANY NISSAN TITAN CREW CAB (IN NISSAN'S OWN WORDS: "THEY ALL DO THAT", EVEN THE 06'S). TWO QUESTIONS REMAIN: 1) WHY, ACCORDING TO 800-NISSAN1 (NISSAN WARRANTY CENTER), IS THERE NO INVESTIGATION UNDER WAY OF THIS IMPORTANT SAFETY DEFECT, AND 2) MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHY THE NHTSA SITE DOES NOT LIST THIS IMPORTANT SAFETY DEFECT UNDER THE LIST OF INVESTIGATIONS PRESENTLY UNDERWAY?
WHEN WINDOW WAS ALL THE WAY DOWN, TRIED TO ROLL IT UP, IT ACTED LIKE IT WANTED TO COME UP BUT DIDN'T MOVE. TURNED OFF VEHICLE, AND TRIED AGAIN A COUPLE TIMES BEFORE IT WOULD COME UP. THIS HAS HAPPENEND ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. ALSO HAVE PREMIUM SOUND SYSTEM (ROCKFORD) RADIO RECPTION AND SOUND QUALITY IS WORST I HAVE EVER HEARD IN ANY VEHICLE, SOMETHING NEEDS DONE ABOUT THIS.*AK
RECALL CAMPAIGN: NOTICE RECEIVED FOR DEFECTIVE BRAKES. ROTORS WARPED , BOTH BRAKE ROTORS REPLACED. *BF THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE ROTORS WERE TOO SMALL FOR THE VEHICLE. *JB
VEHICLE VIBRATES AT PARTICULAR SPEEDS. DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED TIRES, REPLACED RIMS AND TIRES, VEHICLE CONTINUES TO VIBRATE AT VERY NOTICEABLE LEVELS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS CALLED NISSAN TECH LINE, BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM TO DATE. *AK
TRUCK VIBRATES VERY ROUGHLY AND BRAKES PUSH DOWN LOW TO THE FLOOR WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. BRAKES WERE FIRST SERVICED AT 4,503 MILES ON SEPTEMBER 24, 2004. AGAIN TRUCK STARTED TO VIBRATE WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED, AND HAD TO BE PUSHED HARD AND LOW TO FLOOR. BRAKES WERE AGAIN SERVICED AT 8,795 MILES ON JANUARY 18, 2005. TRUCK CURRENTLY HAS 12,565 MILES AND TRUCK AGAIN VIBRATES WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED, AND BRAKES NEED TO BE PRESSED HARD AND GO LOW TO THE FLOOR. NISSAN HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND WAITING FOR CONTACT FOR SERVICE OF TRUCK. IN ADDITION, THE FOLLOWING ITEMS HAVE BEEN NOTED WITH NISSAN: THERE IS A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN SHIFTING GEARS (POSSIBLE DRIVE SHAFT PROBLEM), TRUCK RUNS VERY ROUGH AND LOUD (POSSIBLE BELT TENSION PROBLEM), THE RADIO HAS BAD RECEPTION AND THE DASHBOARD RATTLES. IN ADDITION, IT WAS NOTED TO NISSAN THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE MIRROR REFLECTS THE DASHBOARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, WHICH IS VERY DISTRACTING WHEN LOOKING INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE MIRROR IN ORDER TO CHANGE LANES.*AK
VEHICLE FAILS TO START. HAS HAPPENED ON 3 OCCASIONS IN PAST 7 DAYS. DATE BELOW IS FIRST OCCURRENCE. WHEN IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED TO START ALL APPEARS NORMAL EXCEPT STARTER DOES NOT ENGAGE. WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED TO ON, HEADLIGHTS COME ON REGARDLESS OF POSITION OF HEADLIGHT SWITCH. WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED TO ACC OR OFF, HEADLAMPS WILL NOT LIGHT REGARDLESS OF POSITION OF LIGHT SWITCH. DEALER HAS DIAGNOSED FIRST AS LOSS OF SECURITY CHIP PROGRAMMING, SECOND AS POOR GROUND CONNECTION. REPAIR ATTEMPTS UNSUCCESSFUL THUS FAR.*AK
I OWN A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE REAR END HAS COME APART TWICE. THE FIRST REAR END WAS REPLACED BEFORE IT STRANDED ME. THE SECOND WAS REPLACED AFTER IT CAME APART AND THE REAR END LOST ALL MOTION. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS, IT WOULD MOST LIKELY CAUSED A WRECK. *NM
2004 NISSAN TITAN 4X4 DEFECTIVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL REPLACED AT 20,000 MILES , AGAIN AT 64,000 MILES AND NOW FRONT DIF IS BROKEN AND WILL NEED REPLACED ON MY DIME! *NM
1. TRAVEL DOWN DIRT ROADS OVER A PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS. 2. TAIL PIPE FELL OFF (ON THIS MODEL 4X4 OFF ROAD PACKAGE THE TAIL PIPE ISN'T WELDED TO THE MUFFLER) TOTAL VEHICLE FAILURE OF ALL ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS AS THE WIRING HARNESS MELTS DUE TO EXHAUST BEING VENTED DIRECTLY ON WIRING HARNESS ALSO MELTS DUST COVER FOR SHOCK AND ABS SENSOR TO AXLE HOUSING. 3. REPLACE TAIL PIPE, SHOCK, ABS SENSOR, WIRING HARNESS AND ALL ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS. *JB
I HAVE 6,200 MILES ON MY TRUCK. THE BRAKES ROTORS ARE DEFECTIVE. I CAN SEE CRACKS IN THE REAR LEFT AND THE RIGHT FRONT ROTOR. NISSAN HAS TURNED MY ROTORS ONCE AND THE TROUBLE IS STILL THERE. PULSE IN THE PEDAL AND PULSE ON STOPPING THE TRUCK. IT IS IN THE SHOP RIGHT NOW FOR THE FOURTH TIME FOR THE SAME THING.*AK
HEAD RESTS ARE TOO THIN, ALLOWING OCCUPANTS HEAD TO BE SNAPPED BACK TOO FAR BEFORE BEING STOPPED BY THE HEADREST IN THE EVENT THAT THE VEHICLE IS REAR-ENDED. THIS WILL CAUSE UNNECESSARY INJURY UNLESS CORRECTED.*AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. THE CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE ABS BRAKING MODULAR NEEDED REPLACEMENT. PLEASE FILL IN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB

PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR FAILS TO RECOGNIZE MY 125 POUND WIFE. LIGHT STAYS ON INDICATING THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN EVENT OF CRASH. *AK
WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THERE WAS A SQUEALING AND GRINDING NOISE. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE BRAKES REPLACED. *JB THE FRONT ROTORS WERE OUT OF ROUND AND THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIMMY. *SC
SERIOUS BRAKE VIBRATION PROBLEM, STARTED WITHIN FIRST 2K MILES, CONTINUED TO GET WORSE. HAVE HAD THE BRAKES REPLACED 4 TIMES IN 5 MONTHS. VIBRATION (SHAKING OF THE STEERING WHEEL GETS WORSE AFTER APPROX. 2K MILES, ALMOST UN CONTROLABLE BY 5K MILES).I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY DEALER ON EVERY REPAIR THAT THIS PROBABLY WOUDN'T REPAIR THE PROBLEM. NISSANS CONSUMER AFFAIRS HAS BEEN NO HELP. FILED CLAIM WITH THE BBB AUTO LINE ON 2-4-05. DAY 12 AND STILL NO RESPONSE FROM NISSAN. SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD.*AK
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. VEHICLE SHOOK UNCONTROLLABLY. HOWEVER, CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CONSUMER INFORMED THE MECHANIC THAT THE PROBLEM RECURRED. DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AGAIN, AND MECHANIC MAINTAINED THAT THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE NOT MANUFACTURED TO COMPLY WITH THIS VEHICLE. *AK
2004 NISSAN TITAN, THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH IS A TURN KNOB ON THE END OF THE SIGNAL LIGHT SWITCH AND IT TURNS VERY EASY. IT HAS A PROTRUDING EDGE ON THE TURN SWITCH TO PROVIDE YOUR FINGERS WITH TRACTION TO TURN THE HEADLIGHTS ON AND OFF. PROBLEM IS OFTEN WHEN YOU GO TO DIM THE LIGHTS (THE DIMMING IS DONE BY PULLING THE SIGNAL LIGHT LEVER TO YOU) THE SWITCH TURNS SO EASY IT OFTEN TURNS THE LIGHTS OFF. I AM A 53 YEAR OLD DRIVER THAT HAS DRIVEN MILLIONS OF MILES IN BOTH PASSENGER VEHICLES AND HEAVY TRUCKS. A NUMBER OF TIMES THIS FAILURE HAS HAPPENED AND ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU HAVE NO LIGHTS I FIND THIS VERY VERY DANGEROUS. MY CONCERN IS NOT FOR MYSELFSO MUCH BUT FOR A INEXPERIANCED DRIVER PANICING WHEN THE LGIHTS WENT OUT AT HIGH SPEED IN THE DARK OF THE NIGHT LIKE AS IT HAS WITH ME AND NOT HAVING THE ABILITY TO CALCULATE WHAT THE FAILURE WAS FAST ENOUGH TO TURN THEM BACK ON BEFORE CAUSING A VERY BAD ACCIDENT.*AK
REAR AXLE SEAL FAILURE ON NISSAN 04 TITAN COULD CAUSE BRAKE FAILURE BY LEAKING ON PAD AND ROTOR. *TR
MY WIFE AND I WERE TEST DRIVING A NEW NISSAN 2004 TITAN 4 DOOR PICK UP AT NISSAN OF STATESVILLE, NC. WE BOTH DROVE THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED WHAT WE CONSIDERED AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF PLAY IN THE STERING WHEEL. THE SALESPERSON, WHO WAS RIDING IN THE BACK SEAT, SAID THAT WAS NORMAL. UPON MAKING THE FINAL TURN FROM US HIGHWAY 70 INTO THE DEALERS LOT A POP WAS HEARD AND ALL LOSS OF STERING OCURRED. THE STEARING WHEEL WAS FREE WHEELING WITH NO DIRECTIONAL CONTROL WHATSOEVER. IN OTHER WORDS, YOU COULD SPIN IT AROUN LIKE A TOP, WITH NO STOPS.THE VEHICLE WAS WAS BROUGHT TO A STOP WITHOUT ANY DAMAGE. SHOULD THIS OCCUR WITH ANY SPEED, DEATH COULD EASILY BE THE RESULT. HOPEFULLY THIS WAS A ONCE ONLY OCCURANCE WITH NISSAN TRUCKS. WE ARE STILL SHAKEN BY THIS EVENT. THE NEXT PAGE ON THIS FORM REQUIRES ME STATE THAT AN EVENT OCURRED AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. AT 4345 MILES, BRAKE ROTORS OVERHEATING DUE TO NON-FULL-RELEASE OF CALIPERS CAUSING ROTOR WARP, JERKING IN STEERING WHEEL, DAMAGE AND OVERHEATING OF TIRES, LOSS OF CONTROL ON WET PAVEMENT EVEN AT SLOW SPEEDS, DAMAGE TO STEERING COMPONENTS DUE TO SHAKING CAUSED BY WARPED ROTORS, BLUE OVERHEATING MARKS ON ROTORS. I RETURNED THE TITAN TO THE DEALER AT 6:30AM., CALLED BACK AT 2:15PM AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD EITHER HAVE TO LEAVE THE TRUCK AT THE DEALERSHIP OR PICK IT UP DUE TO NON-AVAILABILITY OF PARTS. THIS WAS OVER 2 MONTHS BACK. STILL NO PARTS, SHAKE IS STILL CONSISTENT WHEN USING THE BRAKES AT ANY PRESSURE AND SPEED.*AK

WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE , AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED , AND REPLACED THEM. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK *TC
FRONT BRAKE FAILURES, FRONT ROTORS WARPED, EFFECTING BRAKING ABILITY. THERE HAD BEEN FOUR ATTEMPTD TO FIX THE FRONT BRAKE PROBLEM BY THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO SUCCESS" NO PERMANENT FIX. NEED TO DO SOMETHING TO CORRECT THE FAULTY BRAKES.*AK
THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND THEY ARE DEFECTIVE AGAIN. *JB
PURCHASED 2004 NISSAN TITAN SE FOUR DOOR MAY 23RD FOR WORK. I AVERAGE APPROXIMATELY 3,500 MILES PER MONTH. THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED ROCKING BACK AND FORTH VIOLENTLY EVERY TIME I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AFTER ABOUT 4,500 MILES. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER AND HAD THE BRAKE DISKS TURNED AND THE PADS, BOLTS, MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE TRUCK STARTED DOING THE SAME THING AT 12,000 MILES, AROUND SEPTEMBER, 2004. THIS TIME THEY REPLACED THE DISCS, CALIPERS, PADS, BOLTS, EVERYTHING AND MADE ALL NEW AGAIN. I DROVE IT AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN AT 18,000 MILES. AT THIS POINT I WAS BECOMING VERY FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY AT THE SITUATION. THE NISSAN DEALER PROMISED ME THAT THEY HAD JUST RECEIVED THE MOST UP TO DATE REPAIR KIT FROM THE NISSAN FACTORY AND THAT THEY WERE BEING TOLD THAT THIS SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE TRUCK WAS BRAKING FINE UNTIL I REACHED 23,000 MILES AT THE END OF DECEMBER, 2004. I SPOKE TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP AND LODGED A FORMAL COMPLAINT. I WAS ASKED WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME THAT I HAD MY BRAKES DONE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD A NEW REPAIR KIT SINCE THEN. I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS TOLD THIS THE LAST TIME AND YET HERE I AM AGAIN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAD MY BRAKES DONE AGAIN ON THURSDAY DECEMBER 30TH, 2004. THIS MEANS THAT MY BRAKES HAVE BEEN DONE FOUR TIMES IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. *JB
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG HAS MALFUNCTIONED. AS A RESULT, THE SENSOR LIGHT STAYED ON. THE CONSUMER IS CONCERNED THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE DEALER STATES THE PART IS ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *LA
WHILE DRIVING LONGER THAN 13 MPH TRANSMISSION BEGINS TO PRODUCE A CLICKING NOISE. *AK
I HAVE A CONSISTENTLY REPRODUCIBLE PROBLEM WITH THE SEAT BELT SENSOR FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT. 150 POUND INDIVIDUAL SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT FAILS TO ENGAGE THE AIR BAG (IT IS INDICATING THAT THE AIR BAG IS OFF) ABOUT ONE-THIRD OF THE TIME THEY RIDE IN THE VEHICLE. BY MOVING IN THE SEAT AND SLIDING FORWARD, THE SENSOR REGISTERS THE INDIVIDUAL AND ENGAGES THE AIR BAG (SHUTTING OFF THE AIR BAG IS OFF LIGHT).
WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A TREE. UPON IMPACT, REAR MIDDLE SEAT BELT UNLATCHED ON ITS OWN. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE SEAT BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
THE PASSENGER SEAT SWERVED AND TWISTED. DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, AND STATED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL, SINCE OTHER VEHICLES ON THE LOT SEATS REACTED THE SAME WAY.*AK
ALL PASSENGER SEAT BELTS INTERMITTENTLY GO TO THE CHILD RESTRAINT MODE WHEN BEING USED BY IN THE NORMAL PASSENGER MODE. THE PASSENGER MUST REMOVE THE SEAT BELT, RETURN IT TO THE RETRACTED POSITION, AND RECONNECT THE SEAT BELT. IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN MOST OFTEN ON A BUMPY SURFACE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PRACTICE. SOME VEHICLE OWNERS WILL SURELY DISABLE THE CHILD SAFETY FUNCTION. OTHERS WILL ENDANGER THEIR PASSENGERS BY HAVING THEM REMOVE THE SEAT BELTS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION. *NM
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE CONSUMER INDICATED THAT THE BRAKE ROTORS WERE DEFECTIVE. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER AND PARTS ARE BEING ORDERED, BUT HAVE BEEN VERY SLOW COMING IN. *AK *NM
1) A CHILD SAFETY SEAT WAS INSTALLED IN THE CENTER REAR SEATING POSITION, AND SECURED WITH THE VEHICLE SEAT BELT. THE BELT WAS FULLY EXTENDED TO ENGAGE THE RETRACTOR LOCK. UPON REMOVAL OF THE CHILD SAFETY SEAT, THE SEAT BELT WAS ALLOWED TO RETRACT. 2) THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO EXTEND THE SEAT BELT FOR IT'S NEXT USE. THE SEAT BELT WAS LOCKED IN THE CHILD SEAT SAFETY MODE AND COULD NOT BE EXTENDED, AND THEREFORE THE REAR CENTER SEATING POSITION COULD NOT BE USED. 3) NISSAN DEALER REPLACED THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR, AND THE NEW PART IS EXHIBITING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER EXPLAINED THAT THIS APPEARS TO BE OCCURRING IN ALL TITAN'S AND THE SEAT BELT CAN BE RELEASED BY FORCING (20-30 POUNDS OF FORCE) ADDITIONAL BELT INTO THE RETRACTOR TO RELEASE IT. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED AND THE REPLACED PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. *NM
THE BRAKES FAILED EVERY TWO WEEKS. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS SEVEN TIMES FOR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS, BUT THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE ROTORS WERE A WEAR ITEM ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 4100 MILES ON IT. *NM
BRAKES HAVE WARPED AFTER ONLY 4000 MILES. EXPERIENCING SEVERE VIBRATIONS WHEN BRAKING AT ANY SPEED, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. SEVERE VIBRATION AFFECTS HANDLING OF VEHICLE AND PERFORMANCE OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM. *AK - NISSAN HAS ISSUED A TSB, BUT IT MERELY FIXES THE SYMPTOMS BY TURNING THE ROTORS, AND DOESN'T FIX THE CAUSE OF THE WARPING.
