REAR AXLE FELL APART WHILE DRIVING. NO WARNINGS, OR ANYTHING. THIS WILL BE THE SECOND REAR AXLE TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 3500 PER INCIDENT. ONLY LIGHT DRIVING HAS BEEN DONE ON THIS VEHICLE. NO TOWING, NO HEAVY LOADS, NO ANYTHING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 45 MPH WHEN THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ABNORMALLY DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL INTO THE FLOORBOARD BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM ALSO ACTIVATED ERRONEOUSLY BUT WAS THE ONLY FUNCTIONING BRAKE SYSTEM ON THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE COMPUTER WAS RESET HOWEVER FAILURE RECURRED THREE WEEKS LATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND OFFERED TO ASSISTANCE WITH THE CONTACT WITH THE COST OF THE COMPUTER RESET. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,771.
I WAS TRAVELING TOWING A 33 FT CAMPER. USUALLY TOW AT ABOUT 62 MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRUCK CUTS OUT THEN TURNS BACK ON AND "BUCKS". MY LIGHTS ON MY DASH LIGHT UP LIKE A COLOR BLINKING CHRISTMAS TREE. MY SPEEDOMETER GOES ALL THE WAY TO 140 MPH, MY RPMS MAX OUT, MY FUEL GAUGE GOES UP AND DOWN ALONG WITH THE TEMP GAUGE. FURTHERMORE ALL THE GAUGES AND WARNING LIGHTS FLASH OR MOVE IN NO FORM OR FASHION. STEERING GETS STIFF ALONG WITH THE BRAKES BECAUSE THE TRUCK SHUTS OFF. I CONTROLLED THE TRUCK TO AVOID CRASHING IN BETWEEN THE ON AND OFF PERIODS. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. THOUGHT IT WAS WIRING FROM CAMPER OR BRAKE CONTROLLER. HOWEVER, OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS FROM ABOUT MID SEPT IT HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. NOW I CAN'T GO OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY BEFORE THE TRUCK STARTS ACTING UP. THERE IS A BAD ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. IN MY PAST EXPERIENCE WITH NISSAN IS THEY ARE RELUCTANT TO SAY ANYTHING IS WRONG AND TO FIX THINGS. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH GO WRONG WITH MY TRUCK FROM BRAKES, ELECTRICAL, AND REAR END UNIT. JUST LAST WEEKEND 20 OCT 12 I TOOK THE TRUCK ON ABOUT A 15 MILE ROUND TRIP AND IT ACTED UP AGAIN. BETWEEN JULY AND SEPT 2012 THE TRUCK WOULD START THE SHUT COMPLETELY OFF IN PARKED POSITION. IT STILL DOES THAT NOW TOO. THE TRUCK IS NOW PARKED UNTIL I FIGURE WHAT IS THE PROBLEM. I DON'T HAVE MEGA BUCKS TO FIX IT! SOMEONE SAID NISSAN HAS A COMPUTER RECALL BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED AND I CONTACTED A DEALER BUT THEY HAVE NOT CALLED BACK. ITS BEEN 3 DAYS NOW. 2004 NISSAN TITAN TRUCK - REAR AXLE SEALS ARE LEAKING SO BADLY OIL IS GETTING ON THE REAR BRAKE ROTORS CAUSING THEM TO BE IN-OPERATIVE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM EXPERIENCED BY MANY TITAN OWNERS AS SHOWN WITH A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH. *TR
REAR PASSENGER AXLE SEAL IS LEAKING AND IS COATING BRAKE PADS AND BRAKE ROTORS. THIS SHOULD NOT BE LEAKING ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS VEHICLE IS NOT HIGH MILEAGE NOR IS IT DRIVEN CRAZY/RECKLESSLY. THIS IS CAUSING BRAKES TO NOT BE AS EFFECTIVE AS IT SHOULD BE. *TR

I TOO HAVE2004 TITAN WHIT BRAKE PROBLEM, WARNIN LIGHT COMES ON PEDEL GOSE TO FLOOR.REPLACE BRAKE DISK AND INSPETED ALL BRAKE PARTS PROBLEM KEEP COMEING BACK AFTER SEVERL DAYS . NISSAN NEED TO DO A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EXHAUST FUMES WERE EMITTED INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO CRACKS ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, WHICH WAS UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT HE COULD REPLACE BOTH EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD, I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO AVOID HITTING THE REAR END OF ANOTHER CAR WHILE IT WAS STOPPED TO MAKE A TURN. WITHOUT WARNING, THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE ABS UNIT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE "BRAKE" WARNING LIGHT. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE PEDAL ACTION CONTINUED UNTIL I COULD GET OFF THE ROAD SAFELY. WHEN STOPPED I CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID AND IT WAS AT THE MAX LINE ON THE RESERVOIR. AS A MECHANIC, I LATER CHECKED THE VEHICLE FOR CODES STORED. IT WAS FOUND TO HAVE CODE "C1179" INDICATING A POSSIBLE DELTA STROKE SENSOR/SIGNAL FAULT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE WITH THIS TRUCK. LUCKILY, THE FIRST TIME, NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF ME. I REALLY AM CONCERNED THAT THIS TYPE OF FAULT COULD SERIOUSLY INJURE ANY OCCUPANT(S) IN EITHER VEHICLE OR POSSIBLY A PEDESTRIAN. IT MAY PROVE TO BE FATAL IN ANY CASE. ONE POSSIBLE FIX COULD BE TO ALLOW THE ABS UNIT TO BE TURNED OFF WHEN CODE "C1179" OCCURS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, A NOISE EMITTED FROM OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A CRACK IN THE MANIFOLD GASKET. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
ON MAY 3, 2012, I SAW MY SIDE MIRROR LIGHTS WERE NOT TURNING OFF, EVEN WHILE DRIVING. I SCHEDULED WORK FOR MY TRUCK FOR MAY 5, 2012. MY TRUCK WAS PARKED AT MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT FROM AROUND 6 AM TO 2 PM ON MAY 3, 2012. WHEN TRYING TO LEAVE WORK I TRIED TO START MY TRUCK AND IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER, TRIED TO JUMP START WITH NO SUCCESS AND EVEN HAD A TOW TRUCK COMPANY ATTEMPT TO START THE TRUCK. AFTER THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO LOCAL SHOP THE TRUCK STARTED UP WITH NO PROBLEM AND THE MECHANIC SAID SINCE ITS NOT SHOWING ANY ISSUES THAT IT DID BEFORE THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. ON MAY 5, 2012 I TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND THEY ALSO FIXED A RECALL WITH THE ECM RELAY. ON THE SAME DAY AROUND 6 PM IN THE AFTERNOON THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED BACK TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP ON MAY 6, 2012 AND ON MAY 7, 2012 THE TECHNICIANS AT NISSAN CONTACTED ME STATING IT WAS MY BCM WHICH WAS IN THE SAME AREA AS THE ECM. I HAD TO PAY ABOUT 600 DOLLARS FOR A NEW BCM. I BELIEVE THE BCM WENT OUT DUE TO THE RECALL WORK THAT WAS PERFORMED EARLIER. *TR
ON CERTAIN KING CAB TRUCKS, THE WIRES IN THE HARNESS WERE ROUTED THROUGH THE REAR DOORS AND INTO THE BODY. THESE WIRES MAY BREAK DUE TO OVER BENDING OF THE HARNESS AS THE DOOR IS OPENED AND CLOSED. THE HARNESS CONTAINS WIRES FOR THE DRIVER SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER AND FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WHICH IS PART OF THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM. WIRES FOR THE REAR AUDIO SPEAKERS ARE ALSO CONTAINED N THE HARNESS. CONSEQUENCE: IF THE WIRES FOR THE SEAT BELTS AND SPEAKER WIRES BREAK AND MAKE CONTACT, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE PRETENSIONER MAY DEPLOY. IF THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE SEAT BELT IS RETRACTED, IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO USE THE SEAT BELT. IF ONE OF THE WIRES ON THE RIGHT SIDE HARNESS FOR THE SEAT BELT TENSION SENSOR BREAKS, THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY AS DESIGNED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH AND PERSONAL INJURY. I WENT TO WALLACE NISSAN, KINGSPORT, TN, ON 07/18/2012 AND DESCRIBED THE ABOVE MENTIONED PROBLEM, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CAMPAIGN HAD ENDED AND THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THIS PROBLEM, I EXPLAINED THAT THE DOME LIGHTS AND THE DOOR LOCK WERE EFFECTED BY THIS FLAWED DESIGN PROBLEM,. I AM VERY MUCH AFRAID THAT THE BROKEN WIRES WILL SHORT OUT AND START A FIRE. *TR
I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT AND DRIVING ONTO A MAIN STREET WHEN I HEARD A CLUNK CLUNK AND THE REAR END STARTED HOPPING AND I NOTICED I HAD NO GEARS. WE CALL ED AAA AND HAD THEM TOW US TO A FEW DIFFERENT PLACES BEFORE WE ENDED UP AT NISSAN IN SPOKANE VALLEY AND THEY PUT IN A BRAND NEW REAR END. PRICE AND LABOR COST US...$3,583.33. *TR
I FIRST HEARD A "WHINE" OR "HOWL" COMING FROM THE REAR END 2 YEARS AGO, WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME I NEED A COMPLETE REAR END ASSEMBLY AT THE COST OF 4000$. I COULD NOT AFFORD THAT, AND THEY SAID YOU COULDN'T REBUILD THE REAR END, BECAUSE NISSAN WOULDN'T RELEASE THE PARTS FOR IT. I DROVE ON IT FOR 2 YEARS BEFORE IT WENT OUT ON ME ON THE 21ST OF APRIL, 2012. IVE READ UP ON HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS, ABOUT THE REAR ENDS ON NISSAN TITANS GOING OUT, AND NISSAN NOT HAVING A RECALL. *TR
THE WIRING HARNESS, IN THE BACK DOOR HAS BROKEN, BECAUSE OF A NISSAN ENGINEERING PROBLEM, BOTH THE HARNESS AND WIRES HAVE BROKEN, WHICH ACCORDING TO NHTSA THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY, RESULTING IN MY HAVING AN UNSAFE TRUCK ACCORDING TO NHTSA, I CONTACTED NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CAMPAIGN HAD ENDED, SO THEY REFUSE TO REPAIR MY TRUCK ACCORDING TO THE GUIDELINES SET BY NHTSA. AT WHAT POINT DOES NISSAN DECIDE THAT THEY CAN DECIDE WHICH TRUCKS TO REPAIR, I HAVE TO WONDER HOW MANY OTHER UNSAFE NISSAN TRUCKS ARE ON THE HIGHWAYS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITIAN. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED A TICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WAS FRACTURED AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V459000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WIRING HARNESS. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE SRS LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE WIRING HARNESS ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED BUT ALSO STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WOULD HAVE TO BE ORDERED. THE CONTACT DID NOT HEAR BACK FROM THE DEALER AND CONTACTED THEM AFTER SOME TIME. THE TECHNICIAN THEN ADVISED THAT ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC TEST WOULD HAVE TO BE PERFORMED IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE BECAUSE THE PART HAD ARRIVED AND WAS SENT BACK. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE REPAIR WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE MANIFOLD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
DRIVER SIDE BEARING FAILURE SEAL FAILURE CAUSING AXLE OIL TO POUR OUT AND AXLE SHAFT TO FALL OUT. EMERGENCY BRAKES FAILED DUE TO BEING COVERED IN OIL. *TR
BOTH REAR WHEEL AXLE SEALS HAVE FAILED AT 67,906 MILES. LEAKING BOTH SIDES. CAUGHT IN TIME SO THAT REAR BRAKES ARE NOT DESTROYED AND REAR END/DIFFERENTIAL NOT DESTROYED. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT AFFECTING THIS TRUCK PRIOR TO 2008. A DEFINITE DESIGN DEFECT. SOMEDAY SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT DUE TO REAR BRAKE FAILURE OR LOSS OF CONTROL WHEN CATASTROPHIC REAR END FAILURE OCCURS. *TR
JUST HAD BOTH MANIFOLDS REPLACED UNDER NISSAN WARRANTY. AS I WAS DRIVING AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP I HEARD A LOUD POP TURNING RIGHT FROM THE REAR OF THE TRUCK. TURNED AROUND BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIPS PARKING LOT I HEARD ANOTHER POP? THE SERVICE TECH DROVE IT AROUND THEIR SERVICE AREA AND SAID MY REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS GOING OUT. NISSAN HAS KNOWN THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR YEARS ESPECIALLY IN THE EARLY TRUCKS YEARS BUT REFUSES TO FIX IT UNDER A RECALL. THIS IS A $3500.00 FIX WHICH THE CONSUMER HAS TO PAY AND NISSAN PROFITS FROM A POORLY DESIGNED COMPONENT. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON ALL NISSAN TITANS FROM '04 - '07. *TR
WENT TO STOP AND HAD NO BRAKES, BRAKE WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND STILL DID NOT STOP. AVS, BRAKE AND SLIP LIGHTS CAME ON DASH AND AS OF TODAY 06/10/2014 AFTER NEW BRAKE BOOSTER AND MULTIPLE CYLINDER REPLACEMENTS AND TESTING AT NISSAN DEALERSHIPS THE SAME LIGHTS ARE ON. BRAKES GET "SPONGIE" FROM TIME TO TIME AND WE HAVE NO TRACTION TRACTION CONTROL WILL NOT WORK. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND HE IMMEDIATELY NOTICED BLUE SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE A TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE MANIFOLD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATELY FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
HAD THE REAREND GO OUT 91,000 MILES HAD NISSAN REBUILD THEN WENT OUT AGAIN AT 94,000 MILES NISSAN DIDN'T STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY NOW STILL SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY TILL FIND A GOOD SALVAGE ONE . *TR
EXACTLY LIKE THE FREQUENT PROBLEM WITH THE 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND XTERRA, THE RADIATOR FAILED CAUSING COOLANT TO MIX WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. *TR
REAR DIFFERENTIAL SPIDER GEAR FAILURE. WHEN ACCELERATING NOTICED A POP AND VEHICLE DRIVE TRAIN SLIPPED AND DISENGAGED. VEHICLE ROLLED TO STOP. WHEN RESTARTED VEHICLE MOVED BUT WITH SIGNIFICANT GRINDING AND POPPING. MECHANIC FOUND SPIDER GEARS IN REAR DIFFERENTIAL DESTROYED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC THAT LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE PASSENGER DOOR HARNESS. THE HARNESS DESIGN WAS DEFECTIVE AND CAUSED THE WIRES TO BECOME DISCONNECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 04V345000 (SEAT BELTS: FRONT: ANCHORAGE). THE MANUFACTURER DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,507 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 121,600.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILED AND WAS CAUSING INACCURATE FUEL LEVEL READINGS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE WOULD DISPLAY THAT THERE WAS ONE QUARTER TANK OF FUEL WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE SENDING UNIT AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND CONFIRMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND OFFERED NO OTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.

REAR DIFF STARTED WITH SMALL WINE NOISE IN AM ON WAY TO WORK - 11.6 MILES. WENT TO LUNCH - ANOTHER 6 MILES - NOISE A LITTLE LOUDER - NOT BAD - JUST A LITTLE LOUDER. GO HOME IN EVENING - MADE IT ANOTHER 6 MILES AND NOISE SOUNDED LIKE SOME ONE WAS CRASHING INTO THE BACK OF THE TRUCK AS THE BACK END LOCKED UP AND SENT ME SKIDDING ACROSS THE ROAD. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS IN THE LANE NEXT ME!! FAILURE ACCORDING TO DEALER WAS FROM THE 'VENT' TUBE BEING CLOGGED AND CAUSING IT OVERHEAT AND BLOW THE SEALS... SO, ALMOST A CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT IF WAS ON HIGHWAY, AND NOW 3500 DOLLARS TO FIX BECAUSE OF A 5 DOLLAR CHECK VALVE! THIS IS INSANE. DEALERSHIP ADMITS TO HAVING SEEN AN ISSUE WITH THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND KNOWING THAT IT WOULD LEAK BUT HAVING DECIDED TO NOT INFORM THE CUSTOMER ABOUT THE ISSUE. *TR

DISCOVERED NISSAN TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB)NTB10-032 STATING ENTIRE AXLE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (AXLE, NEW RETAINER, AXLE BEARING, OIL SEAL, BEARING CAGE, AND ABS ROTOR) BE REPLACED ON 2004-2008 MODELS WHEN OIL LEAKS ARE DISCOVERED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE TSB DID NOT ELABORATE WHY THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY IS TO BE REPLACED. IT CAN ONLY BE ASSUMED THAT ALL PARTS OF THE ASSEMBLY ARE CONSIDERED DEFECTIVE AND REQUIRE REPLACEMENT. I PRESENTED THE TSB TO MY NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY SAID THEY ONLY NEED TO REPLACE THE OIL SEAL, AXLE BEARING, AND SPACER CONTRARY TO THE PRESCRIBED SERVICE PROCEDURE IN THE TSB. WITHIN 200 MILES OF REPLACEMENT, THE NEW OIL SEAL LEAKS INDICATING THE CAUSE OF THE SEAL FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2004 NISSAN TITAN FROM A DEALERSHIP IN OHIO IN SEPTEMBER OF 2004. HAD A FEW OTHER ISSUES ABOUT THE TRUCK DURING ALL THIS TIME OF OWNERSHIP BUT NISSAN HAD ISSUED RECALLS TO TAKE CARE OF THOSE ISSUES AND I WAS PLEASED WITH THEM AND THEIR SERVICE. I AM AT PRESENT EXPERIENCING REAR DIFFERENTIAL PROBLEMS RELATED TO LEAKING REAR SEALS AND FAULTY COMPONENTS IN THE ENTIRE REAR DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY. I HAVE READ THOUSANDS OF REPORTED DIFFERENTIAL PROBLEMS ON THE 2004 THROUGH 2010 TITANS AND NISSAN NORTH AMERICA REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO ELIMINATE THIS SAFETY DEFECT AND RECALL ALL THE TITANS FOR NEW DIFFERENTIAL REPLACEMENTS AT NISSANS EXPENSE.
