MY 2005 NISSAN TITAN IS EXHIBITING THE FAILURES AS OUTLINED IN NISSAN NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 06V459000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM / WIRING HARNESS) AND NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM / FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM). AFTER REPORTING MY ISSUES TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, I WAS TOLD MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN EITHER RECALL CAMPAIGN. NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS FINALLY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER AND TOLD ME TO HAVE MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER DIAGNOSE THE TRUCK AND PROVIDE THE WRITTEN DIAGNOSIS AND COST ESTIMATE TO A NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS SPECIALIST. AFTER PAYING $85 FOR A DIAGNOSIS, THE LOCAL DEALER CONFIRMED IN A WRITTEN DIAGNOSIS AND ESTIMATE, THAT MY TRUCK WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURES THAT THE 2 RECALLS CITE AND THAT MY TRUCK NEEDED THE SAME REMEDIES AS OUTLINED IN THE RECALLS. AFTER PROVIDING THIS INFORMATION TO THE NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS SPECIALIST, NISSAN DECLINED TO COVER MY REPAIRS STATING THAT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED, I DID NOT HAVE A COMPLETE HISTORY OF NISSAN SERVICING MY VEHICLE AND THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE THE LIMITED WARRANTY TERM. I KNEW MY TRUCK WAS OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY TERM, MY TRUCK NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN, WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WARRANTY. NISSAN IS NEGLIGENT IN NOT INCLUDING MY TRUCK IN THE RECALL. I HAVE SEEN THIS SAME COMPLAINT FROM NUMEROUS OTHERS IN MY SAME SITUATION, ON THIS WEBSITE AND OTHER ONLINE FORUMS. THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED AS THEY OBVIOUSLY ARE NOT COVERING ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THE FAILURES CITED. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. ON THANKSGIVING EVENING MY FAMILY AND I WERE DRIVING HOME ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A CLUNK AND LOST ACCELERATION. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND HAD TO CROSS 3 LANES TO TRY AND GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER. WE NEARLY GOT HIT BY MANY PASSING CARS DUE TO THE IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER AND SLOWING OF MY TRUCK. AFTER FINALLY TOWING THE TRUCK TO THE SHOP I FOUND OUT THAT, FOR THE SECOND TIME, THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WENT OUT. THE FIRST TIME WAS AT 75000 MILES AND THE SECOND AT 125000 MILES. BOTH TIMES I AM STUCK FOOTING THE BILL. NEEDLESS TO SAY MY ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION IS STILL SITTING BROKEN UNTIL I AM ABLE TO PAY THE 3500 DOLLARS TO GET IT FIXED. *TR
REAR AXEL SEAL IS LEAKING FOR THE THIRD TIME, WHICH CAN COMPROMISE THE REAR BRAKES WITH AXEL FLUID. NISSAN MADE THE FIRST REPAIR AT 30,000 MILES UNDER WARRANTY. I PAID FOR PARTS AND MADE REPAIRS MYSELF THE SECOND TIME. NOW AT THE THIRD I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, AND THEY HAVE REFUSED, WITH NO EXPLANATION, TO HELP WITH THIS REPAIR, EVEN THOUGH THEY ISSUED AN INTERNAL SERVICE BULLETIN IN 2010, TO REPLACE THE COMPLETE AXEL WITH BEARING AND SEAL. SO NISSAN IS AWARE THAT THEY HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE EARLY MODEL TITANS. I GUESS THEY ARE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DIE BEFORE THEY ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. *TR
LEFT SIDE REAR WHEEL, AXLE SEAL LEAKING ONTO BRAKE DISC. DIAGNOSED WHEN I HAD NEW TIRES INSTALLED. *TR
ORIGINALLY HEARD A LIGHT NOISE ON DECELERATION. WAS UNSURE OF ORIGIN OR SEVERITY BUT SUSPECTED BRAKE WEAR. NOISE CHANGED OVER THE COURSE OF A MONTH AND ON FINAL TRIP INTO NEARBY SHOP FOR DIAGNOSTICS IT HAD GROWN MUCH LOUDER WHILE DECELERATING. SHOP SUSPECTED REAR AXLE SEAL LEAK AND DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE. HAD TRUCK FLATBED TOWED TO NEARBY NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY FOUND LITTLE EVIDENCE OF LEAK AND PLENTY OF FLUID. YET THE DIFFERENTIAL HAD FAILED ENTIRELY. THEY SUSPECTED A RING AND PINION FAILURE THOUGH THEY DIDN'T CRACK OPEN THE CASE AS PARTS/LABOR MAKE REPAIR PROHIBITIVELY COSTLY. AFTER CHECKING SALVAGE PRICES THEY RECOMMENDED A FULL REPLACEMENT WITH A NEW NISSAN AXLE. I WAS LUCKY BECAUSE APPARENTLY THIS KIND OF DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE CAN LOCK UP THE REAR WHEELS WHILE DRIVING AT SPEED CAUSING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS TRUCK IS PRIMARILY DRIVEN AROUND TOWN. IT'S NEVER DRIVEN OFF-ROAD AND NEVER TOWED ANYTHING NOR CARRIED LARGE LOADS - IT'S BEEN BABIED. SEALS AND DIFFERENTIALS SHOULD NOT PREMATURELY FAIL IN A LIGHTLY DRIVEN, WELL-MAINTAINED VEHICLE WHICH WAS DESIGNED AND PROMOTED FOR HEAVY DUTY USE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK HOME FROM WORK,I NOTICED THE SOUND OF THE EXHAUST BECAME PROGRESSIVELY LOUDER. I PARKED THE TRUCK FOR THE NIGHT. PRIOR TO LEAVING THE NEXT MORNING I TRIED TO LOCATE THE SOURCE OF THE INCREASED NOISE. HOWEVER, I NOTICED AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE THE NOISED WOULD DECREASE. THEREFORE, I TOOK THE TRUCK TO MY MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. HE TOLD ME THAT THE HEADER ON ONE SIDE IS CRACKED AND THE OTHER HEADER ON THE OTHER-SIDE SHOWS SIGNS OF STRESS. ALSO, HE EXPLAINED THIS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE NISSAN TITAN AND I MIGHT WANT TO EXPLORE MY REPAIR OPTION WITH THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, AFTER DISCUSSING THIS ISSUE WITH THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THE NOTORIOUS ISSUE AND THE COST OF THE REPAIR IS MY RESPONSIBILITY. UPON HEARING THIS, I DECIDE I WOULD LODGE MY COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS ISSUE HERE. *TR
THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE PADS FELL OF THE SHOES INSIDE THE REAR DISK DRUM, AND WEDGED INSIDE CAUSING THE REAR TIRE TO LOCKUP, FOR A SECOND, AND CAUSE THE TRUCK TO JERK AND MAKE A LOUD NOISE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO REGISTER WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL OR EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE REPAIRS WERE MADE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OR THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 91,000. ...UPDATED 07/22/13 *BF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN PICKUP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT STARTED SPUTTERING AND RAN OUT OF FUEL ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THERE WAS A RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER: STORAGE: FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM). THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER HAVING THE RECALL REPAIRS PERFORMED, STRONG FUMES CONTINUED TO EMIT IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE PASS 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER IN THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WITHIN THE WEEK TO REPAIR THE FUEL SYSTEM. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE FUEL LEVEL SENDER AND THE ECM RELAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
THE VEHICLE BRAKING BEGAN TO DETERIORATE SO I CHECKED EACH WHEEL, FRONT AND BACK. WHILE INSPECTING THE REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS I NOTICED OIL ON BOTH. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I NOTICED THAT THE REAR AXLE SEAL ON BOTH SIDES WAS LEAKING OIL AND IT HAD GOTTEN ON THE ROTORS AND PADS. I REPLACED BOTH ROTORS AND ALL PADS ON THE REAR, AND INSPECTED THE REAR AXLE VENT WHICH I FOUND PLUGGED. I INSTALLED A NEW VENT BUT THE REAR AXLE SEALS ARE STILL LEAKING AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. IN DOING RESEARCH ON THE PROBLEM I FOUND IT TO BE COMMON ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE TRUCK STALLED AND LOST ALL POWER. AFTER GETTING TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY, THE TRUCK STILL HAD BATTERY POWER AND WANTED TO CRANK TO START BUT ACTED LIKE IT WASN'T GETTING GAS. AFTER CALLING AROUND WE DETERMINED THRU A NISSAN SERVICE ADVISOR THAT WE SHOULD TRY FILLING THE TANK WITH GAS, EVEN THOUGH I WAS TELLING HIM IT READ BETWEEN A QUARTER AND HALF A TANK. AFTER PUTTING IN 5 GALLONS AND TURNING THE KEY AND CRANKING IT A FEW SECONDS, IT STARTED RIGHT UP. IT HAS DONE THIS AT VARIOUS TIMES SINCE THIS FIRST OCCURRENCE AND CONTINUES TO VARY. I NOW HAVE TO KEEP NO LESS THAN HALF A TANK OF GAS AT ALL TIMES OR I WILL SUDDENLY LOSE POWER AND HAVE TO PULL OFF. NISSAN HAS A VOLUNTARY SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN 2005-2009 ARMADA AND TITAN FUEL GAUGE INACCURACY, CAMPAIGN ID#R1010 & NHTSA#10V-074, BUT SAY THAT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE MY VIN. I HAVE TRIED REPEATEDLY TO ASK NISSAN HOW THIS SAFETY CAMPAIGN DOES NOT AFFECT MY VEHICLE IF IT TOO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM, AS I'VE BEEN TOLD ITS THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WHICH IS WHAT THIS RECALL CAMPAIGN COVERS. *TR
PRIOR TO LEAVING FOR A TRIP I STOPED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT THE TRUCK FROM INFORMED ME THAT THE EXHAUST WAS BROKEN DUE TO RUST I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH DRIVING IT TO NC FROM CT ON THE WAY BACK FROM NC THE TRAILER LIGHTS FAILED AND I STARTED RECEIVING SLIP ABS BRAKE AND 4WD LIGHTS ON MY DASH. I RETURN THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE EXHAUST HAD MELTED THE WIRING HARNESS WHERE IT HAD BROKE/RUSTED. I SPOKE TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE WHERE THE WIRING HARNESS WOULD MELT WHEN THE EXHAUST BRAKES/RUSTS... I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THEY HAD SEEN SOME WHERE THE WHOLE TAIL LAMP HAD MELTED. *TR
MY EXHAUST MANIFOLD IS LEAKING JUST AS MANY OTHER TITAN OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED. I DID NOT NOTICE A NOISE ON MINE UNTIL I WENT IN TO A MUFFLER SHOP TO GET A PRICE ON GETTING A DUAL EXHAUST INSTALLED AND THEY SHOWED ME THAT IT WAS CRACKED. AS A RESULT, I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE PROBLEM BEGAN, BUT I CAN HEAR IT CONSTANTLY NOW. I HAVE SINCE, DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH OVER THE INTERNET AND HAVE FOUND THAT HUNDREDS OF TITAN OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER HOW OLD OR NEW THE TITAN IS, OWNERS ARE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE OVER AND OVER AGAIN. SOME ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTY, SO THEY ARE GETTING A FREE REPAIR, BUT IF IT IS AN ONGOING ISSUE, WHY HASN'T A RECALL ALREADY BEEN ISSUED? I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MANY MUFFLER SHOP TECH'S THAT THE "CAST" THAT NISSAN USED WAS A BAD "CAST" AND THEY HAVE SINCE FIXED IT. IF THE AFTERMARKET MUFFLER TECH KNOWS, THAN NISSAN CERTAINLY SHOULD...OR ELSE THEY SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF IT BY A RECALL BEING ISSUED. THANK YOU. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSE THAT THE FUEL SENDER UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 91,000.....UPDATED 10/11/12 *BF UPDATED 10/16/12
STARTED HAVING OVER HEATING ISSUES IN 8/2012. EVENTUALLY HAD RADIATOR COMPLETELY REPLACED IN 2/14. HAD TRANSMISSION FLUSHED AROUND SAME TIME. ON 3/26/14, I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE GOING 65MPH WHEN I LOST USE OF THE TRANSMISSION, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL, BARELY AVOIDING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. TODAY FOUND OUT THERE IS A DEFECT WITH NISSAN RADIATORS OVER HEATING AND CAUSING COOLANT TO LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION, DETERIORATING THE GEARS OVER TIME. SPENT AROUND $1,000.00 GETTING THE RADIATOR REPLACED UNAWARE OF THIS FACTORY DEFECT. NOW I AM WITHOUT A FUNCTIONING VEHICLE AND I THINK LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. *TR
TRAVELING AT 65 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS. THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED THAT THERE WAS BETWEEN 1/4 AND 1/8 OF A TANK REMAINING AND THE LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHT HAD NOT COME ON. MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE ENGINE WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. UPON ADDING 1.5 GALLONS OF FUEL THE VEHICLE RE-STARTED ON THE FIRST TRY SO IT WAS DEFINITELY OUT OF GAS. NISSAN HAS A RECALL FOR THIS VERY ISSUE BUT I WAS TOLD IT DOES NOT COVER MY VIN# ALTHOUGH IT IS FOR SOME VEHICLES OF MY MAKE AND MODEL YEAR. I PAID TO HAVE THE FUEL SENSOR IN THE GAS TANK REPAIRED AND THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY IMMEDIATELY AND HAS NOT RESURFACED. NISSAN MAY NEED TO EXPAND THEIR RECALL AS MY VEHICLE DEFINITELY EXPERIENCED THE SYMPTOMS OF THE RECALLED VEHICLES. *TR
A-ARM BROKE TIRE RIPPED IN TO SIDE OF TRUCK
GOT IN MY TRUCK TO GO TO WORK TODAY AND WHILE TURNING RIGHT OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY THE ENGINE REVVED UP AND I WAS GOING NO WHERE. I LET OFF THE GAS AND AS THE MOTOR RPM CAME DOWN THERE WAS A LOUD BANG AND THE VEHICLE JUMPED FORWARD. CONTINUED DOWN THE ROAD ABOUT 200FT AND TURNED AROUND. PARKED THE TRUCK. CHECKED THE FLUID. METAL SHAVINGS AND CHUNKS INSIDE WITH PLENTY OF FLUID. ALSO NOTICED A LEAKING REAR WHEEL SEAL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS 78000 MILES ON IT. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE NISSAN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD BANG HEARD FROM THE TRANSMISSION AS THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE OVERDRIVE AND THIRD GEARS WOULD NOT OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000. UPDATED 9/13/12 *CN
FRONT DIFFERENTIAL STARTED MAKING NOISE, WHEN MECHANICS OPENED IT, THEY SAID IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO REBUILD AND I NEED A BRAND NEW ASSEMBLY. (TOO MUCH INTERNAL DAMAGE.) FOR THE MILEAGE THIS TRUCK HAS, THIS PART FAILED WAY TO EARLY. MECHANIC SAID IT HAPPENED BECAUSE OF ITS POOR DESIGN. NOW TRUCK HAS 60,000 MILES AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL STARTED TO LEAK. *TR
REAR RIGHT AXLE SEAL BEGAN TO LEAK ON 5/14/12 WAS ABOUT TO GET FIXED -KEPT DIFF FULL- (SECOND TIME HAPPENED)... ON 7/27/12 REAR SPIDER GEARS BROKE CAUSING THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL TO DRAG ACROSS THE PAVEMENT IN A PARKING LOT. THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH 04-07 OFFROAD TITANS WITH THE LOCKING REAR DIFF. IF THIS FAILURE HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE REAR WHEELS WERE TO HAVE STOPPED MOVING IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A CRASH. NISSAN HAS SINCE REDESIGNED THE REAR END BUT THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR SAFETY CONCERNS. *TR

WAS LEAVING A PARKING LOT AND WHEN TURNING TO THE LEFT FELT A BUMP LIKE SOMETHING HAD BEEN RUN OVER.DROVE HOME AND FELT BUMP SEVERAL MORE TIMES WHEN TURNING LEFT ONLY. REMOVED FILL PLUG AND SAW PIECES ON METAL ON DRAIN PLUG MAGNET. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD AXLE HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.VEHICLE GAVE NO WARNING SIGNS AND HAD ALL SCHEDULED SERVICE DONE. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED WHERE THEY INFORMED THAT THE TITAN SENDER UNIT FUEL GAUGE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
I WAS DRIVING HOME ON A STATE ROUTE WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 55 MPH. THE VEHICLE INDICATED THERE WAS 1/4 OF A TANK OF FUEL LEFT AND THEN THE ENGINE ABRUPTLY SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS GOING 55 MPH WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND ME AND VERY LIMITED RUN OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND THE VEHICLE BECAME VERY HARD TO STOP. LUCKILY I WAS IN A TRUCK AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OF ONTO THE GRASS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, OTHERWISE IT MAY HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH AND FOUND THERE WAS ALREADY AN INCIDENT FILED FOR THIS, BUT WHEN I CALLED SOMEHOW MY VEHICLE WASN'T COVERED, EVEN THOUGH MY SYMPTOMS MATCHED THE NHTSA RECALL 10V07400 EXACTLY. IT WAS A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE AND COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE HAD THE ROAD BEEN BUSIER OR I HADN'T PULLED OFF. I HAD TO WAIT FOR GAS ON A VERY BUSY ROAD WITH VERY LITTLE ROOM BETWEEN MY TRUCK AND OTHER TRAFFIC. I LOOKED OUTSIDE AND HAD A PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK. GOT THE TRUCK TO A MECHANIC AND HE INFORMED ME THAT THE FRONT AXLE POPPED OUT OF PLACE. THIS TRUCK IS STOCK, NO LIFTS AND NEVER GOES OFF ROAD. SO THIS HAPPENED UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. A FRONT AXLE SHOULD NOT JUST POP OUT OF PLACE. I JUST GOT IT BACK FROM REPLACING THE REAR AXLE AND SEALS AS BOTH WERE LEAKING. ALSO THE REAR SHACKLES ON THE VEHICLE ROTTED OUT. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE (RECALL 06V-459) FROM NISSAN APPROXIMATELY 4 YEARS AGO REGARDING THE WIRING HARNESS BEING DEFECTIVE. THE ORIGINAL NOTICE DID NOT MENTION THAT IT WOULD REQUIRE SERVICE ONLY IF THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON OR FLASHING (WHICH IT WAS NOT). I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN FOR THE RECALL (AT KELLY NISSAN OF LYNNFIELD MA), NOT KNOWING THIS AND THEY SIMPLY TAPED THE WIRING HARNESSES AFTER INSPECTION AND RECORDED THE RECALL SERVICED ON THE NISSAN TITAN AND MOST LIKELY CHARGED NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA FOR PARTS AND LABOR FOR A HARNESS REPLACEMENT. AT 65,000 MILES I STARTED TO GET THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD FLASHING CONSTANTLY. I RESEARCHED THE FLASHING CODE FROM THE SENSOR AND IT TURNS OUT TO BE RELATED TO THE PASSENGER SIDE WIRING HARNESS. AS RECENTLY AS 2 WEEKS AGO I RECEIVED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE FROM NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA WHICH CLEARLY STATED THIS TIME " IF THE RED AIRBAG WARNING LAMP IS ILLUMINATED - PLEASE CONTACT YOUR DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY FOR REPAIRS" , AFTER SCHEDULING ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE SAME DEALERSHIP THAT DID THE ORIGINAL RECALL AND BRINGING THE VEHICLE IN THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE AND THE WAS NO OTHER ACTION THAT COULD BE PERFORMED WITHOUT A CHARGE TO ME. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AS I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. IN 6 MONTHS I HAVE REPLACED 2 OXYGEN SENSORS AND NOW FOR THE 2ND TIME I AM REPLACING THE EVAP CANISTER CONTROL VALVE. I STARTED TO FEEL A THUD IN THE REAR AXLE AS I TURNED THE VEHICLE. IF FELT LIKE THE AXLE WAS BINDING UP. ULTIMATELY, I TOOK IT TO NISSAN WHO SAID THEY COULD REPLACE THE AXLE FOR $3000. SINCE THIS WAS WAY TO EXPENSIVE FOR A KNOW DEFECT, I HAD THE LOCKER REPLACED AT FOUR WHEEL PARTS. IT COST NEARLY $2500 WHEN ALL SAID AND DONE. *TR

THIS VEHICLE HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHILE DRIVING WHICH REPRESENTED A SERIOUS HAZARD TO BOTH THE DRIVER AND SURROUNDING VEHICLES SHOULD THE DRIVER HAS PANICKED IN THIS SITUATION AND HEAVY TRAFFIC. TO DATE THE VEHICLE IS A NISSAN FACILITY AND STILL HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT GREAT EXPENSE AND INCONVENIENCE TO THE OWNER. *TR

VEHICLE HAS ONLY 49K MILES ON IT AND HAD TO HAVE THE RIGHT REAR AXLE SEAL REPLACED FOR THE SECOND TIME. THIS TIME OUT OF MY POCKET AS IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. MANY TITAN OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE. APPEARS THERE IS NO PERMANENT FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL AS IF THE FLUID TOTALLY LEAKED OUT, I AND MANY OTHERS COULD HAVE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT CAUSED BY THE REAR END FAILURE. *TR
