TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MAKE A TICKING NOISE AND FUMES EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS PLACED NEXT TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CAUSING THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO FRACTURED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,112.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE MALFUNCTIONED AND INACCURATELY DISPLAYED THAT FUEL WAS IN THE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS EMPTY. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHUT OFF BECAUSE THERE WAS NO FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER ); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR LEAF SPRING FRACTURED AND PUNCTURED THE BED OF THE TRUCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR LEAF SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
WE TOOK THE TITAN TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR RECALL SERVICE AND GENERAL SERVICE ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR THAT WAS ON RECALL NOTICE IS NOT COVERED ON OUR PARTICULAR VIN. INTERESTING THAT THE $110 DIAGNOSTIC TEST I WAS CHARGED FOR SHOWED THAT SENSOR HAS FAILED, BUT NISSAN REFUSES TO COVER MY VEHICLE UNDER THE RECALL. BY LOOKING AT THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE, I CAN SEE I AM NOT THE ONLY CONSUMER AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE. MAKES ME WONDER IF NISSAN IS ACTUALLY HONORING ANY OF THE RECALLS FOR THIS PARTICULAR REPAIR. INTERESTING THAT AFTER MY SERVICE DATE, I WAS CONTACTED BY A SALES REPRESENTATIVE WITH THE SAME DEALERSHIP ASKING IF I WOULD CONSIDER BRINGING IN MY 2005 TITAN FOR A TRADE-IN OPPORTUNITY. I DON'T WANT A NEW CAR, I WANT THIS ONE REPAIRED WITH THE RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. I CONTACTED THE NATIONAL OFFICE AND WAS ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER AND THE INDIVIDUAL HANDLING THE CASE ALSO DECLINED MY REQUEST FOR REPAIR. ON THAT SAME CALL, I WAS ASKED HOW MANY NISSAN VEHICLES I OWN AND IF I WOULD CONSIDER BUYING A NISSAN IN THE FUTURE. BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS RECALL, I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER NISSAN. NOR WILL I RECOMMEND NISSAN TO ANYONE WHO ASKED WHAT OUR EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THE NISSAN MOTOR CORPORATION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE STRONG FUMES EMITTING FROM THE VEHICLE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD WHICH ENTERED THROUGH THE AC OR HEATING SYSTEM INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO SMELL STRONG FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
I FIRST FELT AND HEARD A LOUD CLANKING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR END WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT. APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS LATER I FELT IT AGAIN WHILE ENTERING THE ON RAMP TO A FREEWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. I PULLED OVER AND INSPECTED THE REAR END OF MY TRUCK AND FOUND NO VISIBLE DAMAGE OR LEAKING OF FLUIDS. I GOT BACK IN MY TRUCK AND STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND IMMEDIATELY FELT AND HEARD THE CLANKING NOISE AGAIN. I THEN DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHICH FORTUNATELY WAS ONLY TWO MILES AWAY. THE NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT DID AN INSPECTION AND DETERMINE THE GEARS IN DIFFERENTIAL WERE BINDING. THE NISSAN TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHY A DIFFERENTIAL WITH ONLY 53,000 MILES THAT WAS MAINTAINED AS WELL AS MINE WAS WOULD FAIL. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP HAS PERFORMED ALL THE MAINTENANCE ON MY TRUCK AND ARE WELL AWARE OF HOW WELL ITS MAINTAINED. THEY SUGGESTED ITS A DEFECT AND RECOMMENDED I SPEAK WITH NISSAN USA DIRECTLY IN HOPES OF THEM COVERING THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE DIFFERENTIAL ON MY TRUCK. I SPOKE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE FROM NISSAN USA AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT BECAUSE MY TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY, THE DEFECTIVE DIFFERENTIAL ITS NOT GOING TO BE COVERED. THE WORST PART IS THAT THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THE DIFFERENTIAL. I HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE REAR AXLE. THIS IS A COST OF (AXLE) $3500.00 +( LABOR) $1000.00. LETS NOT FORGET TAXES ALSO. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE DEFECTIVE DIFFERENTIALS AND IS COUNTING ON PEOPLE TO NOT MAKE THE EFFORT TO BRING THIS ISSUE TO LIGHT. PLEASE HELP MAKE A CHANGE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT BY THIS DEFECT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THERE WAS A CONSISTENT TICKING NOISE FROM DRIVE SHAFT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN FOR INSPECTION OR DIAGNOSIS. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.
WHILE DOING A LIQUIDS CHECK I NOTICED THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS LOW. I ADDED DISTILLED WATER TO THE RADIATOR AND LOOKED UNDERNEATH TO LOOK FOR A LEAK. I FOUND COOLANT LEAKING FROM THE TRANSMISSION LINE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RADIATOR. AS I BACKED INTO MY GARAGE, I HEARD THE COOLANT RESERVOIR PRESSURIZE AND START TO OVERFLOW. THE RESERVOIR WAS FILLED WITH TRANNY FLUID. I DRAINED THE TRANSMISSION AND FOUND COOLANT IN THE TRANSMISSION. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY MILES I DROVE THE VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION BUT I'M AFRAID THE TRANSMISSION IS DAMAGED AND I CAN'T GET THE COOLANT COMPLETELY OUT OF THE TRANSMISSION. I'VE DRAINED AND FILLED IT TWICE SO FAR AND STILL HAVE SIGNS OF COOLANT. I TALKED TO A LOCAL DEALER AND THEY RECOMMENDED THAT I KEEP DRAINING AND FLUSHING UNTIL THE TRANNY FLUID COMES OUT THE SAME COLOR AS IT WENT IN. *TR
WHILE DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY, MY TITAN RAN OUT OF GAS WHILE THE GAUGE SHOWED 1/4 TANK, STRANDING MYSELF, MY PREGNANT WIFE AND 2YR OLD DAUGHTER IN A DANGEROUS AREA, AND IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY STREET. I HAD TO GET OUT AND PUSH THE TRUCK TO A PARKING LOT. I THEN WALKED TWO MILES TO GET 2 GALLONS OF GAS, FORCED TO LEAVE MY FAMILY WITH THE STRANDED TRUCK(MY WIFE CAN'T WALK THAT FAR RIGHT NOW). I RETURNED, PUT THE 2 GALLONS IN THE TANK AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. I CALLED THE DEALER, WHICH GAVE ME A LOUSY EXCUSE AS TO WHY THOUSANDS OF THESE TRUCKS WERE RECALLED BECAUSE OF THIS SAME ISSUE, EXCEPT MINE. THEY OFFERED TO GIVE ME A GREAT DEAL. 600 DOLLARS FOR THE REPAIR WHEN THE PART COSTS $77. THEN JUST LAST WEEK THE TRUCK RAN OUT OF GAS, THIS TIME ON THE FREEWAY, NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT WITH A SEMI TRUCK, WHILE SHOWING ALMOST 1/2 TANK. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THOUSANDS OF TITAN OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND NOT BEING COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I CONTACTED THE BAR AND AFTER THEIR INVESTIGATION, THE DEALER DISCLOSED THAT ALL TITANS WERE MADE WITH THE DEFECTIVE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, AND THAT THE DEALER WAS REPLACING THESE PARTS EVERY DAY, NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. TO SUM IT UP, I SPENT GOOD MONEY FOR A TRUCK THAT I THOUGHT WOULD BE A SAFE VEHICLE FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY, WHICH IT IS NOT. I'M VERY SERIOUS I WAS ALMOST KILLED WHEN IT HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY. I HAVE OWNED A LOT OF VEHICLES, AND HAVE NEVER EVER HEARD OF SUCH A SAFETY ISSUE THAT ISN'T ADDRESSED BY RECALLS. BASICALLY THIS TRUCK IS A DEATH TRAP, IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL SOMETHING TRAGIC HAPPENS, ALL BECAUSE NISSAN WILL NOT OWN UP TO THEIR FAULTY PARTS. IN FACT THEY ARE VERY DISRESPECTFUL, AND UNPROFESSIONAL WHEN TALKING TO THEM ABOUT IT. I RAN OUT OF GAS EVEN THOUGH THE FUEL GAUGE STATED I HAD MORE THAN A 1/4 OF A TANK OF FUEL LEFT. AFTER RESEARCHING AND DISCOVERING NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID # 10V074000 MANY 2005 NISSAN TITANS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS I ENCOUNTERED. I CONTACTED A LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND DISCUSSED THIS WITH THEM. AFTER GIVING THEM MY VIN, THEY STATED THERE WAS NO RECALL ON MY 2005 NISSAN TITAN FOR FALSE FUEL GAUGE READINGS OR OTHER ISSUES REGARDING THE FUEL SYSTEM IN MY VEHICLE. "RECALLS ARE VIN SPECIFIC AND YOURS IS NOT LISTED." WELL, THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE'S FUEL GAUGE AS WELL. I WOULD LIKE INFORMATION HOW TO GET MY VEHICLE'S VIN ADDED TO THE LIST OF MALFUNCTIONING FUEL GAUGE ISSUES AND HAVE IT REPLACED BY THE DEALER AS A WARRANTY ITEM, AS OTHERS HAVE DONE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AS I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 75 MPH WHEN WITHOUT NOTICE, I RAN OUT OF GAS. WHEN MY VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS I WAS UNABLE TO USE MY BRAKES, STEERING WAS DIFFICULT AND IF THERE WAS TRAFFIC AHEAD I WOULD OF SURLY CRASHED. THANK YOU *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT OFFER A REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 91,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. RIGHT EXHAUST MANIFOLD CRACK. EVERY FORUM ON TITAN'S COMPLAIN HOW THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS CRACK AND LEAK WELL BEFORE THEIR TIME AND ALL BEEN UNDER 100K. IT TELLS ME NISSAN DOES A POOR JOB MAKING THAT PART AND IT'S A COSTLY JOB FOR CUSTOMERS TO REPAIR. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM. *TR
HI, I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN TITAN AND THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAS CRACKED IN THE SAME SPOT TWICE NOW AND IT IS BEFORE THE CAT SO THAT MEANS ITS NOW A GROSS POLLUTER. THE PROBLEM IS YOU GET IT FIXED AND THEY PUT THE SAME PART BACK ON THAT CRACKS AGAIN BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T CHANGED THE DESIGN. THERE ARE 3 OTHER TITANS IN MY TOWN AND ALL OF US HAVE THE SAME STORY. ALSO THE SWAY BAR MOUNT ON ALL OF OURS ARE BROKE WITCH RESULTS IN VERY POOR HANDLING. I HOPE IT CAN BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMETHING SERIOUS HAPPENS. THANK YOU.

WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES TO START STOPPING, IT DIDN'T FEEL LIKE IT WAS GRABBING AND I REALLY HAD TO STAND ON THE PEDAL TO STOP BEFORE I HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN I GOT HOME, I LOOKED AT ALL MY BRAKES AND FOUND THAT THE REAR AXLE SEAL ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS LEAKING. GREASE/OIL WAS ALL OVER THE REAR BRAKES. I HAVE HAD THE SEAL REPLACED 3 TIMES NOW. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THE DEALER WANTS $1800 TO DO IT AGAIN!! WE NEED A RECALL. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE WAS 98,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE TRANSMISSION WON'T GO INTO THE LOWER GEARS AND IT REVS AT A HIGH RPM AND WON'T SHIFT. I HAVE SEEN WHERE THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH THIS TRANSMISSION DUE TO A COOLANT THAT LEAKS INTO THE TRANSMISSION. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND HE SAYS THERE IS HELP OUT THERE FOR FRONTIER AND SOME OTHERS BUT THE TITAN ISN'T PROTECTED. AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET, THERE ARE A LOT OF TITAN OWNERS THAT ARE HAVING/HAD THIS TROUBLE THAT HAVE THE SAME MODEL AS MYSELF. *TR
REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH. HAD TO HAVE COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF REAR END AT COST OF $3000. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF SAME ISSUE. APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. NISSAN DOES NOT ALLOW REPLACEMENT OF PARTS ONLY REPLACEMENT OF WHOLE REAR END UNIT. *TR
WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP LIGHT AND ACCELERATING FROM 0-30MPH MY REAR END MADE A TERRIBLE BANGING NOISE AND I LOST POWER TO THE DRIVETRAIN. I SPENT $4500 TO REPLACE THE REAR END. THE ENTIRE REAR DIFFERENTIAL EXPLODED. I HAVE NEVER MISUSED THIS TRUCK AND ONLY TOW MY BOAT ABOUT 30 MILES 5-6 TIMES A YEAR. ALL FLUIDS ARE PROPERLY MAINTAINED AND WERE AT APPROPRIATE LEVELS WHEN THE SHOP REPAIRED. IN RESEARCHING ONLINE IT APPEARS THAT THE NISSAN TITAN HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL IN A 2005 HAVING HIGH FAILURE RATES. *TR
LEAF SPRING SQUEAKING NOISE AND ALSO JUST HAD THE REAR REPLACE ON THIS VEHICLE I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE A YEAR AGO I DON'T DO NO HAULING WAS SO EVER ON THIS TRUCK I DID SOME RESEARCH AND NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BUT THE DON'T WANT TO DO NOTHING REAR,SHACKLES,LEAF SPRING. *TR
WHILE MOVING FORWARD FROM PARK, THE REAR TIRES LOCKED UP. I REVERSED AND THEN MOVED FORWARD TO TRY TO FREE THE TIRES. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS OFF. IT TOOK SEVERAL TIMES OF SHIFTING GEARS BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD MOVE FREELY. I RESEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND SEVERAL OTHER TITAN OWNERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY TRACED THE CAUSE TO THE REAR EMERGENCY BRAKE PADS DISLODGING FROM THE HUB AND BECOMING LODGED IN THE REAR ROTOR. MY MECHANIC REMOVED THE REAR ROTOR ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE PADS FELL OUT. THE LEFT SIDE PADS WERE STILL MOUNTED BUT WITH ONE POKE WITH A SCREWDRIVER, THE PADS FELL OUT. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO AN OIL CHANGE AND THEY NOTICE THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS LEAKING OIL ON THE RIGHT SIDE THEY TOLD ME THAT THE SEALS ARE BROKEN SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO BE FIXED. WHEN I GOT HOME LOOK IT UP IN THE INTERNET AND IT I FIND OUT THAT THIS HAPPENS QUITE OFTEN AND I THINK THAT NISSAN SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE DIFFERENTIAL FLUID CAN GET INTO THE BRAKES AND THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
FOR THE LAST YEAR I HAD HEARD A NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE AN EXHAUST LEAK. SMELLED FUMES INSIDE THE CAR. DEALER CONFIRMED MANIFOLD WAS CRACKED, BUT SINCE THE CAR HAD 82000 MILES ON IT, THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT. *TR
WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER [XXX], EXT [XXX], WAS TOLD BY[XXX]TO GO BACK TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE FUEL SYSTEM. AND THEN CALL HER BACK WITH THE RESULTS. I DID THIS AT A COST OF $110.00 TO ME. WHEN I CALL BACK AT THE NUMBER SHE HAD GIVEN ME ALL MY CALLS GO TO VOICE MAIL. RIGHT AND LEFT REAR AXLE SEALS LEAKING. COMMON PROBLEM, EXPENSIVE TO FIX! I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED LEFT REAR SEAL ONCE AT 50,000 MILES. NOW BOTH ARE LEAKING AT 77,000 MILES! *TR
EXHAUST MANIFOLD CRACKS. THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS ON NISSAN TITANS ARE DEFECTIVE. IT IS WELL DOCUMENTED THAT THE MAJORITY OF OWNERS OF TITANS HAVE, HAD OR WILL HAVE THE ISSUE OF A CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION, AS AN EXHAUST LEAK COULD INTRODUCE CARBON MONOXIDE INTO THE CABIN AREA WITH IS LETHAL. THERE ARE FORUMS THAT THIS ISSUE IS DISCUSSED WELL IN DETAIL REQUIRING THE OWNER TO FOOT THE BILL FOR REPLACEMENT AT A PRICE AROUND $2500.00. IF YOU CONTACT NISSAN, THEY WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT IS A DEFECT, EXCEPT IN REALITY THEY KNOW BECAUSE THEY HAVE MADE SUBSEQUENT CHANGES ON NEWER MODELS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. THEY DON'T WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR EARLIER MODELS. YOU WILL NOT KNOW IF CARBON MONOXIDE HAS ENTERED THE CABIN AND COULD KILL YOU IN MINUTES. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. CERTAIN 2005 NISSAN TITANS WERE RECALLED IN CAMPAIGN #10V074000 DUE TO THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWING THAT THERE WAS FUEL REMAINING WHEN THE TANK WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. THIS OCCURRED TO MY VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY 2013. THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AND I LOST POWER STEERING. I WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO TURN WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO LEAVE THE ROADWAY. AFTER CONTACTING NISSAN, THEY DECLARED MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND WAS NOT AFFECTED ALTHOUGH I WAS HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.
AFTER HAVING IPDM MODULE REPLACED (CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10V517000), THE SES LIGHT SHOWED BAD CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WITHIN A FEW THOUSAND MILES. THE IPDM MODULE FAILED BEFORE BEING REPLACED AND IT CAUSED RAW FUEL TO BE DUMPED ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WHICH CAUSED THEM TO FAIL. I THINK NISSAN SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF FAILED CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WHEN THEIR FAULTY PART CAUSED THE DAMAGE. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR ($2,800). AFTER LOOKING AT FORUMS ON THE INTERNET, I SEE MANY PEOPLE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TITAN CATALYTIC CONVERTERS AND HAVING THEM FAIL BEFORE THE VEHICLE REACHES 100K MILES. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN AND THEY WOULD NOT HELP WITH THE REPAIR. THEY SAID THE FAULTY IPDM WOULD NOT CAUSE CATS TO FAIL. *TR

THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT REPLACE PARTS ON THE DIFFERENTIAL AND THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE AN ENTIRE REAR END FOR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 128,000.

IN ADDITION, THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT AND HEATER WOULD NOT CIRCULATE AIR PROPERLY THROUGH THE VENTS WHEN ACTIVATED. THERE WAS ALSO AN ABNORMAL CLICKING NOISE HEARD FROM THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE ALSO OCCASIONS WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WOULD INDEPENDENTLY SHUT OFF. THE AIR CONDITIONER BLOWER MOTOR WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TRUCK IN MID 50'S RANDOMLY STALLS AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND WILL NOT RESTART. ALL SYMPTOMS IDENTICAL TO EVERY OTHER OF THE MANY THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS OF ECM/IPDM FAILURE. NISSAN CLAIMS RELAY FOR RECALL WAS CHANGED IN 2011, THAT WE HAVE NO OPEN RECALL AND NO OTHER RECOURSE OTHER THAN TO CALL NISSAN AMERICA--EVEN FOR JUST A REPLACEMENT RELAY THAT COSTS THEM PENNIES. NISSAN AMERICA SAYS THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP MUST RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. THESE HUGE TRUCKS ARE STALLING AT HIGHWAY SPEED ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED MY LOCAL DEALER TO CHECK FOR THIS KNOWN ISSUE THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED AND THEY KEPT MY TRUCK FOR A WEEK AND CHANGED THE BATTERY TERMINALS--FOR $400 INSTEAD OF CHECKING THE $4.00 RELAY. THAT'S RETAIL--IT COSTS THEM ABOUT A QUARTER. EVEN WITH THE .3 HOURS OF LABOR, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER $90 FOR ME AT FULL RETAIL. INSTEAD, I STALLED AGAIN AT HIGHWAY SPEED 3 WEEKS LATER.
