Window regulator and window assembly keep failing

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23E012000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available for older vehicles. The local dealer was contacted and stated that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
So back in October 2023 ,I noticed a lot of things go wrong at once lime the radiator had to be replaced because it was leaking everywhere. The steering went bad and started leaking. The rear main seal started leaking. The clock spring went bad. there isntons of water always in the passenger floorboard and passenger door. The fuel gauge is all over the place and never reads right. The oil pressure gauge always has been on high. The engine light, air bag light slip light, and abs light have always been on. The right rear window stopped going up and the controls on the drivers door sometimes work and sometimes don't. The Manuel shifter has never worked and I cannot put the transmission in 2,3, or 4th gear from a stand still. Always been weird knocking sound in the suspension
Truck stalled in the middle of the road due to fuel gauge sending unit failing to send correct info on how much gas was actually in the tank. It shows approx 1/4 tank of gas no matter how much gas it actually contains. Recall id: 10V074000
Noticed electrical burning smell outside the previous day but could not find the source. In the morning found that the front, passenger door had caught fire and smoldered all night long burning to a crisp. Not sure the cause. The truck was last driven on Friday and sat all weekend until the problem was discovered Monday morning. The truck still runs and as far as I can tell everything except the speaker in the door is working and the passenger power seat which was also slightly burnt.
These units are being sold at various retailers and deceptively marketed. I purchased one with the warning label defaced. The listing stated it was a bStock item due to cosmetic damage otherwise fully functional. To be transparent I purchased the same item, through that specific vendor on eBay. I did capture the listing before they added the disclaimer. Ultimately they refunded the purchase and I sent the item back. The photos explicitly omit the "warning" that has large print ultracapacitor and small print, "follow this link to the the actual warning" Going further the manufacturer went as far as to post a video of an employee throwing the battery, showing that it is completely safe and instructs the viewer to hit up a distributor and go buy one now. It is one thing to inform the customer and quite another to sell to an unsuspecting person.
The contact's son owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while his son was driving approximately 35-45 MPH, the vehicle stalled inadvertently. The contact was unsure whether there were any warning lights illuminated. The contact's son was able to restart the vehicle and continued to drive; however, the failure reoccurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken to Pep Boys and diagnosed the failure as a vehicle dynamic control switch, acceleration, and power train systems failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the instrument cluster had failed. The dealer was not notified of the failures. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in any recalls. The failure mileage was approximately 153,000.
The part that failed was the delta stroke sensor i was coming home from the store and suddenly I noticed the brake light came on and when I pressed the brakes it made a grinding noise like it was trying to lock the brakes so it was almost impossible to stop
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANSFER CASE 2 TIMES, MY FRONT DRIVE SIDE HUB ASSEMBLY 2 TIMES IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS. I HAVE REPLACE FRONT AXLE AND AND REAR. NOW MY PASSENGER SIDE LEAKS OUT FROM UNDER THE GLOVE BOX EVERY TIME IT RAINS INTO MY FLOOR KEEPING IT WET. JUST YESTERDAY MY TRANSMISSION WENT ITNO LIMP MODE AND I KNOW IT CAN BE A NUMBER OF THINGS . I LOOK AT THE 04 THRU 07 TITANS AND THEY HAVE A LOT OF ISSUES LIKE HAVE BUT HAVEN'T LISTED THEM ALL, BUT THE ISSUES IAM HAVING ARE NOT ON RECALL LIST FOR MY 2006, BUT ARE FOR THE OTHER YEARS??? THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP DROPPING $ INTO IT. BACK DRIVER WINDOW MOTOR STOPPED AND WINDOW FELL AND BROKE, MANIFOLD TICKING IS A RECALL FOR THE 2005, BUT NOT MY 2006. I COULD KEEP GOING BUT I AM GETTING SO FRUSTRATED. I WAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT ABOUT 45 MHP WHEN IT JUST WENT INTO LIMP MODE, SO I PULLED OVER TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON THEN IT WOULD WORK FOR ABOUT 3 MIN. STOP DO IT AGAIN TO GET HOME. IT WILL GO INTO GEAR, AND THE RPM'S REV AND GO UP ,BUT I AM NOT GETTING VERY FAR AT ALL. MY TRANS FLUID IS GOOD. I HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. ALL FUSES ARE GOOD AND CODES RESET AND IT STILL GOES LIMP MODE.

A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS ASSOCIATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V517000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
AIRBAG LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY FLASHING AND NOTHING ON THE STEERING WHEEL WORKS. CRUISE CONTROL, VOLUME FOR THE RADIO, MODE SELECT AND ETC. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE AFTER LOOKING AT OTHER FORUMS WITH NISSAN TITAN OWNERS COMPLAINTS.
BRAKE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND BRAKES WILL GRIND AND CRUNCH WHEN TRYING TO STOP. AFTER SHUTTING OF AND RESTARTING VEHICHLE THE PROBLEM WILL GO AWAY TEMPORARILY.
WHEN IN MOTION, VEHICLE BRAKES OCCASIONALLY FAIL. DYNAMIC CONTROL OFF LIGHT, BRAKE LIGHT, AND SLIP LIGHT TURN ON AT SAME TIME THAT BRAKE PEDAL LOSES ALL RESISTANCE AND IS EASILY PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. BRAKE POWER SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED AND NEED TO BE ACTIVELY PUMPED TO SLOW DOWN AND COME TO A STOP. AT A STOP, VEHICLE CAN BE TURNED OFF AND BACK ON THEN WARNING ALL LIGHTS WILL GO OFF AND BRAKES OPERATE AS NORMAL. DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHER SPEEDS. OCCURS 6-7 TIMES PER YEAR.
OVERHEATED, ENGINE WOULD NOT START, TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT TO GO MOSTLY SLUGGISH. THIS IS MY 3RD TIME TITAN OVERHEATED, HAD TO BE TOWED.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V459000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) BY HENDERSON NISSAN (295 AUTO MALL DR, HENDERSON, NV 89014, (702) 558-5800); HOWEVER, THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE ELECTRICAL WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
WIRE HARNESS FOR THE REAR POWER SLIDER (BEHIND THE REAR SEAT) CAUGHT ON FIRE. FIRE MARSHALL SAID IT WAS A FAULTY WIRE HARNESS. CAUGHT OUR CARSEATS AND THE ENTIRE CAB, AND BED ON FIRE. VEHICLE WAS OFF, PARKED AND VACANT WHEN THE FIRE WAS VISIBLE, BUT ONLY FOR 10 MINUTES, SO IT MAY HAVE STARTED WHEN IT ON, AND WASN'T VISIBLE RIGHT AWAY.
MANIFOLD CRACK
MY TRUCK HAS BEEN SHOWING P0335 CODE ISSUES, WHICH IS CRANKSHAFT SENSOR, WHICH HAS BEEN REPLACED, MY RPM'S JUMP/SPUTTER BUT THE TRUCK STARS & RUNS BUT FEELS LIKE ITS RUNNING ROUGH, ALSO I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT MY DASHBOARDS "SLIP" LIGHT REMAINS ON... AND THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH IT IS THAT, NO "PROFESSIONALS" SEEM TO KNOW WHAT IT IS, NOR HAVE THEY BEEN ABLE TO FOGURE IT OUT AS OF YET.
TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN STUCK IN 4TH GEAR WHILE IN DRIVE. IT. WILL SWITCH INTO PARK, REVERSE AND NEUTRAL. WHEN THE TRUCK IS PUT ON THE COMPUTER THERE ARE NO ERROR CODES SHOWING THAT WOULD REQUIRE REPAIR THEREFORE NISSAN REFUSES TO SUBMIT ANY DOCUMENTATION HIGHER TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH THIS STANDARD TRANSMISSION IN ALL OF THEIR VEHICLES. ON A SIDE NOTE, I'VE HAD 2 OTHER NISSANS WITH A CENTRAL VARIABLE TRANSMISSION THAT HAVE ALL DONE THIS AS WELL. I'VE SINCE BEEN ABLE TO GET RID OF THOSE VEHICLES, BUT I AM STUCK WITH THIS ONE.

RADIATOR FLUID MIXING WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID VIA INTERNAL COOLER IN RADIATOR CAUSING VEHICLE TO STOP MOVING ALTHOUGH MOTOR FUNCTIONING PROPERLY.
"TAKATA RECALL" REAR AXELS AND DIFFERENTAL LEAKING AFTER BEING REPLACED 3 TIMES WHEN FIRST DISCOVERED IN 2016. VEHICLE IS VERY SHAKEY AND BREAKS ARE NOT RESPONSIVE AND OIL SMELL IS HORRIFIC
IT WILL CRANK BUT WILL NOT START

IN ADDITION, THE FUEL FLAP FAILED TO RETAIN THE FUEL, WHICH CONTINUOUSLY SPILLED BACK OUT OF THE FUEL TANK. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER (ROUTE 22 NISSAN, 56 US-22, HILLSIDE, NJ 07205, 908-964-8700) INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 236,075.

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE BRAKES INDEPENDENTLY ACTIVATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO PRODUCE A FAULT CODE OR DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,500.
KEEP GETTING A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR OUR TRUCK. HOWEVER CHECK THE VIN # OUT AND IT SAYS NOTHING IS THERE. BUT IN THE MAIL TODAY IT SAYS THERE IS STILL A RECALL FOR THE WIRE HARNESS ROUTED THROUGH THE REAR DOORS ON THE CAMPAIGN # 06V-459
REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS LEAKING GEAR OIL OUT OF BOTH ENDS OF MY RWD TRUCK. CONTACTED NISSAN DEALER AND THEY REFERRED ME TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. FILED A CLAIM AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY SO THEY WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NISSAN TITAN TRUCKS, PARTICULARLY BETWEEN MODELS YEARS 2004-2006. I HAVE NEVER TOWED WITH THIS TRUCK AND HAVE CHANGED THE GEAR OIL FREQUENTLY. ALSO, I HAVE REPLACED THE BREATHER PERIODICALLY AS WELL. NOW THE FLUID IS FLOWING OUT WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.
HAD A RECALL ON THE 2004-2006 AIR BAGS AND TOOK TITAN IN TO UNIVERSITY NISSAN IN FLORENCE, AL. WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL COULD NOT BE COMPLETED ON SOME OF THE 2004-2006 TITANS AND THEY WOULD CONTACT NISSAN TO GET A SOLUTION. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF WAITING I CONTACTED NISSAN USA AND THEN UNIVERSITY NISSAN TRIED AGAIN TO REPROGRAM THE AIRBAGS BUT IT STILL WOULD NOT TAKE. NOW I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN HAS SUSPENDED THE RECALL UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT THEY CAN PRODUCE A PROGRAM TO FIX THIS RECALL. I KNOW, OTHER OWNERS ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM AND NOW WHAT CAN BE DONE ? IF AIR BAGS DECIDE TO GO OFF ON MY VEHICLE, WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND THE REPAIRS TO FIX IF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY FOR NO REASON ? THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, EXHAUST AND BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. UPDATED 06/13/17*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE SPEED DROPPED FROM 60MPH TO 40 MPH, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. COMPLETE REAR AXLE FAILURE WITH 105,400 MILES. THIS REAR AXLE WAS BUILT TO WEAK TO HANDLE THE ENGINE HORSE POWER AND THE VEHICLE CANNOT TOW 7,800 LBS. NISSAN FALSELY ADVERTISIE THAT THIS VEHICLE CAN TOW 7,800 LBS. MY VEHICLE NEVER TOWED, IT HAS NO HITHCH THE REAR AXLE COULDN'T WITHSTAND JUST PROPELLING THE VEHICLE FOR 105,000 MILES. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS JUSTIFIED FOR OWNERS IF THESE VEHICLES AFFECTED WITH THIS KNOWN DESIGN FLAW.
VEHICLE WAS JUST BELOW 1/4 A TANK MARK. I TURNED ENGINE OFF. RESET TRIP ODOMETER. PUT FUEL INTO VEHICLE. GAS GAUGE TOOK OVER 10 MINUTES TO GO FROM BELOW 1/4 TANK TO JUST ABOVE 3/4 FULL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED OPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO CARRIAGE NISSAN (2400 BROWNS BRIDGE RD, GAINESVILLE, GA), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STARTED BLINKING. DIAGNOSTIC GAVE CODE OF CRASH ZONE SENSOR COMMUNICATION ERROR. RESEARCHED ISSUE ON LINE AND SEE THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR SNOW BELT STATES WHICH MAINE IS INCLUDED BUT NOT THE TITAN. CONTACTED NISSAN REGARDING ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER BECAUSE WE ARE OUTSIDE OF WARRANTEE? FIND IT ODD THAT SOME VEHICLES ARE BEING COVERED BUT NOT THIS ONE. PREVIOUSLY TO THE AIRBAG LIGHT ISSUE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE DOING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY LOST ALL POWER. THANKFULLY NO VEHICLE BEHIND HIM. HE PULLED OVER INTO BREAKDOWN LANE TRIED TO RESTART VEHICLE WOULDN'T START INITIALLY BUT AFTER 10 MINUTES DID START. NO CODES TO BE READ NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED TO THE AIRBAG ISSUE BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT SAFE TO HAVE YOUR VEHICLE ABRUPTLY SHUT DOWN AT 70 MPH.
TAKATA RECALL TRUCK BURNED COMPLETELY INSURANCE COMPANY SAID TO CONTACT YOU GUYS FOR AN INVESTIGATION OF THE TRUCK RECALL TRUCK WAS PARKED IN DRIVE WAY THEN CATCHED ON FIRE NEXT TO BUILDING CALLED FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THEY CAME AND TURNED FIRE OF TRUCK WAS TOWED AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY SAID TO CALL U GUYS FOR DAMAGES CAUSE ITS A RECALL ON TRUCK TRUCK WAS TOTAL LOST AND INSURANCE IS DENIING THE CASE CAUSE THEY SAID TO CONTAC YOU GUYS REGARDING THE FAULTY TRUCK AND RECALL
MY NISSAN TITAN IS SUPPOSEDLY NOT INCLUDED IN THE TAKATA RECALL, HOWEVER, THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT IF I WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH, IT MAY NOT DEPLOY OR MAY DEPLOY WITHOUT ANY REASON. I HAVE TALKED TO THE NISSAN DEALER IN HATTIESBURG, MS, BUT THEY SAID IT IS NOT INCLUDED. IF SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD HAPPEN, I AM SURE NISSAN WOULD PAY DEARLY. MY NISSAN ALSO HAD THE BRAKE PROBLEM THAT YOU DID THE RECALL ON SEVERAL YEARS BACK , BUT AGAIN, MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, BUT THE NISSAN HERE DID FIX IT AND DID NOT CHARGE ME. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BEFORE I GET KILLED OR INJURED BADLY.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION, CONTUSIONS, AND INTERNAL BRUISING THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A STRONG FUEL ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WAS PERSISTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH REAR EXHAUST MANIFOLDS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I DROVE MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN LE TO MCDONALD'S ON ELK STREET WHICH IS LIKE 5 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE WHEN YOU GOT FOOD CAME BACK TO MY HOUSE WHICH IS 1700 SWANSON DRIVE SPACE 43 WHEN INSIDE CAME BACK OUT RADIATOR BLEW OUT THE BOTTOM REPLACED RADIATOR AND THEN TRANSMISSION STARTED GOING OUT ELECTRICAL UNITS RELAYS GOING OUT REPLACED BUT STILL TRUCK IS ACTING UP REALLY BAD I HAVE REPLACED THE RADIATOR TRANSMISSION BRACKET TONS AND TONS OF FLUIDS A BUNCH OF ELECTRICAL FUSES REALLY TIRED OF WORKING ON MY TRUCK TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT AND I DON'T FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS PROBLEM WHEN IT ALL OCCURRED AT ONE TIME I HAVE THIS TRUCKS FINANCED I STILL OWE $17,000 ON IT AND IT BARELY RUNS I WOULD LIKE TO PROCEED ON MAYBE FIGURING OUT A WAY TO HELP ME GET A NEW TRANSMISSION OR GETTING A DIFFERENT VEHICLE.
AFTER MANY, MANY HOURS OF RESEARCH ONLINE TO FIND A RECALL ON THE NOTORIOUS REAR END AXLE PROBLEM WITH THE 2004, 2005, AND SOME 2006 NISSAN TITAN'S THERE IS LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING AND NISSAN HAS YET TO PUT A RECALL OUT DUE TO THE POOR DESIGN OF THEIR REAR ENDS IN THESE PICK-UPS. THE PROBLEM IS THE REAR AXLE SEALS GOING BAD. THE PROBLEM STARTS AT THE TOP OF THE REAR END WITH THE VENTILATION SYSTEM. THE VENTILATION SYSTEM ALLOWS MOISTURE AND WATER TO ENTER THE REAR END ASSEMBLY WHICH CAUSES THE AXLE SEALS TO LEAK WHICH THEN IN TURNS GEAR OIL LEAKING ALL OVER THE REAR BRAKES, WHICH IN TURN LEAKS ON TO THE HIGHWAY. THE FIRST SET OF SEALS COST ME ALMOST $1,200 I AM ON MY 3RD SET OF SEALS, AND THEY ARE LEAKING AGAIN. I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR 3 YEARS AND THE VEHICLE HAS 136,XXX ON IT. THE FIRST SET OF SEALS WENT AT UNDER 20,000 MILES. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM DUE TO THE FACT OF THE REAR END GEAR OIL LEAKING ONTO THE REAR BRAKES AND OUR HIGHWAYS. THERE NEEDS TO BE SOMETHING DONE ABOUT A RECALL ON THESE REAR ENDS OF THESE VEHICLES, BEFORE SOMEONE'S LIFE IS TAKEN UNEXPECTEDLY.
CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAS BEEN NOTED, AND/OR.POSSIBLE MALFUNCTION OF CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WELDED TO MANIFOLDS. 118,500 MILES. REPLACEMENT MANIFOLDS/CATS COST IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND LABOR INTENSIVE. SO-CALLED "COMMON PROBLEM" WITH TITANS. IMO, THIS PROBLEM MAY POSSIBLY SEND CO2 TO PASSENGERS IF NOT CORRECTED, NOT TO MENTION POOR VEHICLE PERFORMANCE AND POSSIBLE SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE IF NOT CORRECTED. NISSAN SHOULD CERTAINLY INITIATE A RECALL ON THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM.
THE WELD ON THE LEFT REAR SHACKLE THAT HOLDS THE LEAF SPRING IN PLACE RUSTED THROUGH AND THE LEAF SPRING PUSHED UP THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE TRUCK BED CAUSING A HOLE. IN MY OPINION BASED ON MY INSPECTION THE WELD FAILED DUE TO RUST. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN 2006 AND HAD CORROSION PROTECTION APPLIED. THIS TYPE OF WEAR AND TEAR SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO A VEHICLE LIKE THIS. I HAVE TAKEN PHOTOS TO DOCUMENT THE DAMAGE. I AM GOING TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN TO REVIEW THE ISSUE.
MY ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE WHY HASN'T THEIR BEEN A RECALL ON ANY TITANS THAT ARE HAVING CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLDS, WHICH CAUSE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIRS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
RIGHT REAR SPRING SHACKLE BROKE AT THE WELDS WHILE DRIVING ALLOWING THE LEAF SPRING TO BE THRUST UP AGAINST THE UNDER SIDE OF THE BED. BY LUCK OR OTHER I WAS TO BE TOWING OUR TRAVEL TRAILER LATER IN THE DAY FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND.A CURSORY SEARCH FOUND A HIGH NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS OF BROKEN SHACKLES IN MODEL YEAR 04-07. SHACKLES APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN UPGRADED IN MODEL YEAR 08. THIS FAILURE COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT TO SELF OR OTHERS HAD THE AXLE SHIFTED RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONTROL.
I WAS ALERTED THAT MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN NEEDED TO HAVE THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL REPLACED AS THERE WAS "LOOSENESS" AND FLUID LEAKING. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NOT REPAIRABLE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD CAUSE THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL TO LOCK UP, CAUSING POSSIBLE SUDDEN STOPPING AND POSSIBLE LOSS OF CONTROL.
