ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2016, I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR'S STEERING VIOLENTLY PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND WHEN I TRIED TO CORRECT IT, THE CAR THEN TURNED ALL OF THE WAY TO THE LEFT, CAUSING THE CAR TO ROLL OVER SEVERAL TIMES. ALTHOUGH I HAD MY SEAT BELT ON, THE PRE-TENSIONERS DIDN'T FIRE TO KEEP ME FROM MOVING AROUND AND HITTING MY HEAD. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WENT OFF EITHER, NOT EVEN THE ONES ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE CURTAIN WHERE THE CAR WAS DAMAGED. AFTERWARDS, I WENT TO THE DOCTOR AND A CHIROPRACTOR BECAUSE I HURT MY BACK, NECK AND MY HEAD. I ALSO GOT A LAWYER BECAUSE I HAD NOT DONE ANYTHING WRONG WHILE DRIVING. THE STEERING PROBLEM JUST CAME OUT OF NOWHERE. NISSAN, TAKATA, TKH AND MY LAWYER INSPECTED THE CAR IN MARCH AND FOUND THAT NONE OF THE AIR BAGS WENT OFF, THE SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONERS DIDN'T ACTIVATE, THE CAR'S VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR HAD A FAULT CODE, THE CAR'S INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR HAD A FAULT CODE AND NISSAN'S ENGINEER THAT WAS THERE WAS UNABLE TO ACCESS THE POWER STEERING MODULE WITH HIS MACHINE. NEXT, WE FOUND OUT THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM CAN SHUT DOWN DUE TO EXCESSIVE STEERING AT SLOW SPEEDS. THAT IS BAD BECAUSE NISSAN HAD A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT SAID THAT THE CAR CAN PULL TO ONE SIDE EVEN WHEN ALIGNED BASED ON NISSAN'S REQUIREMENTS. THIS MEANS THAT THE REASON PEOPLE HAVE HAD STEERING PROBLEMS IS BECAUSE OF THE CAR'S DESIGN, NISSAN'S ALIGNMENT REQUIREMENTS AND THE CAR NEEDING TO BE ALIGNED DIFFERENTLY. ALSO THE INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR CAN CAUSE A CAR TO SURGE AND SPUTTER, THIS CAN BE WHY PEOPLE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION. THERE IS NO REASON WHY THE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS DIDN'T PROTECT ME. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THE SPEEDOMETER RECALL MAY BE DUE TO THE VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR PROBLEM. MY CAR WAS TOTALED AND THESE THINGS NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED.
DROVE FOR SEVERAL YEARS HAVING NO IDEA MY LIFE (AND FAMILY/FRIENDS) WAS AT RISK. FAR, FAR WORSE THAN THAT...DURING 2016-2017 I DROVE THE VEHICLE WHILE PREGNANT!!!!! FOLLOWING THAT IN 2017, I DROVE WITH MY NEWBORN CHILD IN THE CAR AND MY HUSBAND!!!! I CANNOT BEGIN TO DESCRIBE THE LEVEL OF ANXIETY AND HORROR I FEEL HAVING LEARNED OF THIS RECALL AFTER MY CHILD WAS BORN. I AM IN ABSOLUTE SHOCK AT THE THOUGHT OF WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED!!! ALTHOUGH THE DEALER HAS GIVEN ME A LOANER FREE OF CHARGE UNTIL THE PART IS REPLACED, I HAVE NO WHERE TO HOUSE MY VEHICLE. I DO NOT HAVE A GARAGE OR PRIVATE DRIVEWAY. THE CAR IS PARKED ON A PUBLIC STREET FOR WHAT COULD BE MAYBE SIX MONTHS?! THIS INCLUDES BEING PARKED OVER WINTERTIME. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE DAMAGE TO THE MONETARY AND FUNCTIONAL VALUE OF MY VEHICLE AS IT SITS SEEMINGLY ENDLESSLY. MOREOVER, I AM MUCH TOO FRIGHTENED TO EVEN CONSIDER GETTING INTO THE CAR TO START THE ENGINE OR MOVE IT AROUND DURING THIS PERIOD. HOWEVER, THE ENGINE WILL NEED TO BE STARTED AND THE CAR WILL NEED TO BE MOVED. BUT, THAT IS A TRUE QUANDARY.

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MY VEHICLE BUT THE PARTS SIMPLY ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE AND THAT THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IT. DO WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE GETS HURT AND WE HAVE TO SURE BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE? WE HAVE TWO VEHICLES THAT NEED RECALLS DONE. HOW DO I GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF?
MY VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 42,000 MILES. ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE ENGINE ROARS AND SOUNDS LIKE A HELICOPTER. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT THE MUFFLER AND EXHAUST SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THEY ATTRIBUTE IT TO ROCK SALT. HOWEVER, THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. THE MATERIAL USED BY THIS MANUFACTURER AND/OR THEIR VENDOR IS NOT OF GOOD QUALITY. IF NOT ADDRESSED, THIS COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT AND IT MUST BE RECALLED. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AGAINST NISSAN REGARDING THIS ISSUE TO NO AVAIL.

TAKATA RECALL. MY PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT IS FLASHING WHEN CAR IS ON, WHETHER I'M SITTING STILL OR DRIVING. NISSAN WANTS $120 TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC. I DON'T HAVE IT, AND DON'T FEEL I SHOULD PAY IT, AS THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL, BUT MY VIN# IS NOT INCLUDED. WHAT DO I DO?
STARTING ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS AGO MY WIFE WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE A/C NOT WORKING PROPRTLY. THEN ABOUT A WEEK AGO WHEN YOU TURN THE ALARM ON THE HORN WOULD NOT BEEP LETTING YOU KNOW IT WAS ARMED. YESTERDAY WHEN I WENT OUT TO START THE CAR TO GO TO WORK NOTHING WORKED OR CAME ON. MY WIFE BROUGHT HER VEHICLE OVER TO JUMP START IT. AS SOON AS THE JUMPER CABLES WERE HOOKED UP THE BATTERY ON THE VERSA EXPLODED AND THERE WAS ALOT OF SMOKE. NOW THE CAR IS JUST SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY CANT EVEN GET IT OUT OF GEAR TO MOVE IT. EVEN IF IT GETS FIXED MY WIFE IS NOW AFFRAID TO PUT OUR 2 YEAR OLD SON, HERSELF OR ME IN IT TO DRIVE ANYWHERE. YOU CAN STILL SMELL THE BURNT SMELL FROM UNDER THE HOOD

MY VERSA SUDDENLY QUIT RUNNING WHILE IT WAS STATIONARY A TRAFFIC SIGNAL. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART, AND THERE WAS NO SMELL OF FUEL ASSOCIATED WITH THE RESTARTING PROCESS. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO PEP BOYS AUTO REPAIR SHOP, AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE FUEL PUMP AND THE POWER SUPPLY FUSES FOR THE FUEL PUMP AS THE CAUSES. THE VEHICLE HAD 46,000 MILES EXACTLY. IF THIS HAD OCCURRED ON A FREEWAY, OR IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, THE HAZARDS WOULD HAVE BEEN CONSIDERABLE..

THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ON MY 2011 VERSA OCCASIONALLY GOES ON AND THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND THEN THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO GO AWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MAYBE 3-4 TIMES IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS? I CALLED THE DEALER TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIX IT AND THEY SAID IT IS SOMETHING THAT I SHOULD TRY TO LIVE WITH SINCE IT IS SO RARE. THEY OFFERED NO SOLUTION OR A WAY FOR THEM TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS CAR AND IT MAKES ME NERVOUS THAT THE POWER STEERING COULD GO OUT AT ANY TIME. I CAN'T IMAGINE THAT THIS IS AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION FOR A NISSAN PRODUCT? THIS SEEMS LIKE A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN?

TAKATA RECALL IN JULY 2016, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM NISSAN ADVISING ME OF THE TAKATA PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL. CONTINUED EXPOSURE TO AREAS WITH HIGH LEVELS OF ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY MAY CAUSE THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR HOUSING TO RUPTURE AND DEPLOY ABNORMALLY. I CALLED IN SEPT - THEY TOLD ME I WOULD GET ANOTHER LETTER IN OCT FOR THE FIX. I CALLED IN NOV - THEY TOLD ME I WOULD GET ANOTHER LETTER IN DEC FOR THE FIX. I CALLED IN JAN - THEY TOLD ME I WOULD GET ANOTHER LETTER IN MAR FOR THE FIX. IT'S NOW APRIL 2017, STILL NO FIX. I LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA WITH HIGH LEVELS OF HUMIDITY AT TIMES. I CAN'T HAVE ANYONE IN MY CAR, AND RISK DRIVING MY CAR EVERYDAY. IT'S BEEN 10 MONTHS. WHAT IS THEIR OBLIGATION HERE?

I HAVE 42000 MILES ON MY CAR, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN YESTERDAY MY MUFFLER STARTED RATTLING AND BEING EXTREMELY LOUD. I PARKED MY CAR AND IT WAS FINE, BUT WHEN I STARTED IT UP TO LEAVE WHERE I WAS IT WAS NOISY - VERY SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED. HAD SOMEONE LOOK AT IT, AND IT APPEARS THAT THE FLANGE BETWEEN MY MUFFLER AND THE MANIFOLD CRACKED CLEAN APART. NOT DUE TO RUST OR CORROSION AS IT IS A CLEAN BREAK. HE SAID IT APPEARED TO HIM THAT IT MUST NOT HAVE BEEN A VERY GOOD WELD TO BEGIN WITH.
MY NISSAN HAS UNDER 50,000 MILES ON IT. I DRIVE IN NEW ENGLAND, ROADS ARE A BIT TOUGHER- HOWEVER MY MUFFLER IS MAKING A LOUD NOISE AND HANGING LOOSE FROM THE BODY OF MY CAR. MY RESONATOR PIPE SNAPPED AND I GOT A QUOTE FOR $931.75 FROM A LOCAL MEINEKE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. IT SEEMS DANGEROUS THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN IN SUCH A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME ON A CAR THAT SHOULD STILL BE RUNNING EFFICIENTLY, I NOTICED IT WHILE DRIVING, GOT HOME AND PULLED OVER TO NOTICE THE MUFFLER WAS VERY VERY LOOSE
DUE TO POOR WELDING AT THE FLANGE MY EXHAUST PIPE HAS BECOME SEVERED AT THE FLANGE EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NOT TO MUCH RUST PRESENT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO EXHAUST NOT GOING OUT THE TAIL PIPE
THE MATERIAL WHERE MY ARM REST THAT HAS THE CONTROLS FOR MY WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS, ON DRIVER SIDE, FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, AND BACK PASSENGER SIDE IS COMING APART. MY SLEEVES GET CAUGHT SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD.

I HAVE A COMPLAINT DUE TO THE FACT THAT NISSAN NEVER NOTIFIED ME OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG ISSUE PER THE VIN NUMBER SUBMITTED PER THE NHTSA WEBSITE. MY VIN IS [XXX] AND NISSAN WAS FULLY AWARE OF HOW TO CONTACT ME DUE TO I'VE RECENTLY SATISFIED THE LOAN WHICH WAS FINANCED ON THE VEHICLE DIRECTLY FOR NISSAN. I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER OR NOT I WILL IN FACT BE NOTIFIED ONCE NISSAN DOES HAVE A REMEDY PER THE RECALL INFORMATION NOTED RELATED TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG. TOOK TO NISSAN. MECHANIC SAID NISSAN ENGINEERS SAY THIS IS NORMAL FOR THEIR 4 CYLINDER MOTORS. SAID HE COULDN'T LOCATE SOURCE OF SOUND BUT POSSIBLY CYLINDER 2 OR 3. HE TOLD ME UNTIL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON OR UNTIL ENGINE FAILS DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME TO KEEP OIL CHANGED EVERY 3700 MILES AND RUN ENGINE RESTORE PRODUCTS IN WITH OIL CHANGES. I TRIED THIS THE NEXT DAY, AND NOISE BECAME WORSE. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN RUN LOW ON OIL, HAS BEEN SERVICED LIKE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE, NEVER SMOKES OR BURNS OIL, OIL ALWAYS LOOKS CLEAN AT OIL CHANGES. SINCE THE NOISE STARTED, THERE IS DECREASED FUEL MILEAGE. OTHER THAN THAT, THE SOUND AND IT'S TUNE SO TO SPEAK, HAVE BEEN THE ONLY CHANGES AS FAR THE ENGINE GOES. THE SUSPENSION/STEERING STILL ISN'T RIGHT. AFTER BEARINGS REPLACED, SOME NOISE WENT AWAY WHILE TURNING, BUT NOW TURNING EITHER WAY, WHEN FIRST TAKING OFF, VEHICLE MAKES WEIRD CLUNKING NOISES. I'M WONDERING IF IT HAS BAD STRUTS?

I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR COIL SPRING RECALL. DEALER SAID THEY ALSO REQUIRED ADDITIONAL COST FOR REPLACING BEARING STRUTS @$65 AND THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING; SUBFRAME , STAYS & CAT CONVERTER DUE TO RUST @$2486.09. THEY CAR FRAME IS RUSTING AWAY.

THE CONTACT LATER RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STRUT BEARINGS FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE STRUT BEARINGS WERE NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V573000. THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COST. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 66,000.

IT WAS CLEAR WEATHER 830AM I WAS ON A STREET WHICH SPEED WAS 40-55MPH GOING WITHIN THE SPEED LIMIT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED SINCE OWNERSHIP WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE MY RIGHT FRONT END DROPPED WHICH I LEARNED WAS ( MY FRONT COIL SPRING SNAPPED) AND CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO LOOSE CONTROL AND THE CAR TO ROLL MULTIPLE TIMES AND ME BEING EJECTED OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS ALSO DID NOT DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE ENGAGED ON. NISSAN DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF THE RECENT RECALL OF THE FRONT COIL SPRING AT ALL. I'M CURRENTLY FILING A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE COMPANY DUE TO SERIOUS DAMAGES THAT HAVE AFFECTED ME GREATLY.
