BOTH THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY HOOD LATCHES FAILED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH. THE HOOD FLEW OPEN CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE MENTOR NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHO INSPECTED THE HOOD LATCHES AND INDICATED THAT THE LATCHES WHERE BOUND UP AND THE CONDITION OCCURRED THROUGH NO FAULT OF THE VEHICLE OWNER AND THE CONDITION WAS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS WOULD NOT AUTHORIZE ANY REPAIRS BECAUSE THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM ON THE VERSA, HOWEVER THERE IS A RECALL ON THE ALTIMA FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE BINDING OF THE HOOD LATCH ON MY NISSAN VERSA IS THE SAME CONDITION THAT OCCURRED ON THE ALTIMA. THE COATING APPLIED TO THE HOOD LATCH BY THE LATCH MANUFACTURER CAUSES IT TO BIND OVER TIME AND NOT LATCH PROPERLY.
TRANSMISSION NEED TO BE REPLACED AT 69000 MILES
THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SHIFTER. THE SHIFTER MOVES FROM PARK TO ANY OTHER POSITION WITHOUT THE USE OF THE BREAK PEDAL. ALSO, THE SHIFTER SLIDES EASILY FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING. FINALLY, THE CABLE BROKE AND THE CAR WAS STUCK IN PARK. THIS CAR HAS 57,000 MILES. THE MECHANIC SAID IT NEEDS A NEW SHIFTER ASSEMBLY. THERE IS A RECALL FOR SOME NISSAN VERSAS FOR THIS PROBLEM. WHY NOT THIS ONE?
TAKATA INFLATORS WON'T BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF PRIOR OWNERS REWIRING AIRBAG NEED HARNESS REPLACED BUT NISSAN WON'T PAY FOR IT AND HAVEN'T HAD LUCK WITH THE CAR LOT IT WAS PURCHASED.
TAKATA INFLATORS, I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM NHTSA BACK IN JULY 2018. EXACTLY A FEW DAYS LATER MY AIRBAG LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN. I HAVEN'T HAD TIME TO TAKE MY CAR TO NISSAN. I TOOK IT IN TODAY 2/16/19 AND MCDAVID NISSAN IS TELLING ME THAT MY CAR DOESN'T HAVE A RECALL. THEY WON'T FIX IT THEY WANT ME TO PAY $800+ TO REPAIR IT. I'VE ALREADY HAD TO TAKE MY CAR HERE 2 OTHER TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN IT HAD RECALLS FOR AIRBAGS. I'M GUESSING THE RECALL ISN'T ACTIVE SO THEY'RE NOT SEEING IT. MY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE NEXT DAY THE AIRBAG LIGHTS CAME ON.
CAR WILL NOT GO IN REVERSE NOR PARK AND IS IN DRIVE WHEN I STOPPED. IT WILL NOR START IT IS IN MY DRIVE WAY. IT WAS SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR WHILE TRAVELLING FORWARD.
MY CAA IS A NISSAN VERSA 2012 WITH A CVT TRANSMISSION,I WAS WAITING AT THE LIGHT TO MAKE MY LEFT TURN AND WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELRATE THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE IT ACTED LIKE IT WAS ON NEUTRAL TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT BUDGE STILL I CAN BACKUP BUT CANT DRIVE FORWARD.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR KEEPS BREAKING AND IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY YOU HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND FIND THE DOOR HANDLE. THIS WAS REPAIRED ONCE AND IS NOW BROKEN AGAIN ON 2 DOORS.
CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING ME TO ALMOST GET REAR ENDED 3 TIMES. SHOP ADV THE FUEL PUMP BURNT THE FUSE OUT CAUSING THE THE CAR TO LOOSE POWER AND DIE. THE 15 AMP FUSE WAS BURNT OUT 2 TIMES IN 12 MONTHS OR LESS THE FIRST TIME WAS CITY STREETS THE SECOND TIME WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH. BOT TIMES TIME I WAS IN MOTION.
FOR A 2012 NISSAN VERSA SEDAN AUTOMATIC. THE CVT TRANSMISSION STARTED OUT 6 MONTHS AGO SOMETIMES NOT SHIFTING UP TO HIGHER GEARS WHEN I WAS DRIVING. VERY SHORTLY AFTER THE TRANSMISSION JUST WOULDN'T ENGAGE AT ALL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION WITHOUT EVEN A DIAGNOSTICS TEST AND IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO SELL ME A NEW CAR. AFTER THAT I WENT TO CERTIFIED TRANSMISSION AND PAID FOR THEM TO TEST IT AND THEY ALSO SAID I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND THAT THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE CVT. I THEN WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE AND BOUGHT A DIFFERENT CAR AND HAVE ONLY DRIVEN THE NISSAN VERSA A HANDFUL OF TIMES SINCE UNTIL I COULD GET A NEW TRANSMISSION. NOW THE TRANSMISSION NEVER SHIFTS UP WHILE DRIVING AND TODAY I WAS DRIVING IT TO GET A NEW TRANSMISSION AND IT WON'T ACCELERATE OR ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION AT ALL, IT HAS TO BE TOWED. THE TRANSMISSION WILL BE REPLACED WITH A BRAND NEW ONE.
BAD TRANSMISSION, BRAKES, BEARING WHEELS, ETC. CAR IS PARKED IS CAN'T BE USE RISKY.WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IT HAD FIVE TAMARA RECALLS IT WAS A RISKY CAR TO DRIVE, DEALERSHIP DIDN'T SAID A THING ABOUT IT. LOSS MY MONEY. CAR WAS IN A CAR DEALERSHIP.
TAKATA RECALL - AIR BAG PARTS STILL LISTED AS UNAVAILABLE FROM ORIGINAL JULY 2017 RECALL
WHEN DRIVING PASSENGER SEAT BELT RANDOMLY DISENGAGES FROM LOCK. I WILL EVEN MAKE SURE IT IS FULLY ENGAGED BEFORE TAKING OFF BY PULLING ON THE BELT AND IT WILL STILL RANDOMLY BECOME UNLOCKED. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW AND IT IS SLOWLY BECOMING MORE CONSISTENT. NO MODIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN DONE AND LOCK APPEARS TO BE CLEANED AND IN GOOD SHAPE.
RANDOMLY ONE DAY, I WENT TO BRAKE, IT FAILED TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP MY CAR, FREAKING OUT I PUMPED IT AND THEN IT STOPPED BY THE 3RD TRY AND JOLTED. IT HAS SINCE BEEN DOING THAT EVERY DAY. WE'VE REPLACED THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER, THAT DIDN'T WORK, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID IT WAS THE BREAK AND ROTATORS, REPLACED THOSE, THAT ALSO DIDN'T WORK. THERE ARE NO LEAKAGES, THE HOSE IS FINE, AND BRAKE FLUID IS GREAT. I HAVE A ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THEM TO HAVE A TECH RIDE WITH ME TO SEE WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. BUT THIS ISN'T SAFE AND I'VE BEEN DRIVING LIKE THIS FOR 3WEEKS NOW AND FIXED EVERYTHING I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE, WASTING MY MONEY, AND IT'S STILL NOT FIXED. MILES ARE 130,000ISH. I DRIVE IT MAINLY ON THE HIGHWAY TO GET TO WORK, FOR AN HOUR THERE AND BACK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JEFF WYLER KINGS NISSAN (401 MILFORD PKWY "A", MILFORD, OH 45150) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COIL SPRINGS WERE FRACTURED AND DAMAGED THE FRONT STRUTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PURCHASED IN OHIO; THEREFORE, THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND OF THE DEALER'S INABILITY TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. *TT

SLUGGISH ACCELERATION, HIGH REV WHILE GAS OEDAL IS PRESSED W NO ACCELERATION ON HIGHWAY & CITY STREETS . JERKING INTO GEAR WHILE ADVANCING FROM A DEAD STOP . NISSAN SAYS THE CVT NEEDS REPLACED & IT ONLY HAS 45K MILES ON IT .
JUST HAD VEHICLE CHECKED TODAY AT COTTMAN TRANSMISSION. AFTER THEY ROAD TESTED AND RAN THEIR ANALYSIS ON THE TRANSMISSION, I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE HAS NISSANS 'CVT' TRANSMISSION AND THERE IS NO FIX FOR IT OTHER THAN A $4000 REPLACEMENT. THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES AND WILL NOT SWITCH GEARS PROPERLY. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ON A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT OCCASIONS PRIOR TO TAKING IT TO COTTMANS AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM.THERE'S A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSIONS FOR THE 2011 & 2012 NISSAN VERSA FOR THE SAME ISSUES I'M EXPERIENCING WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION BUT DOES NOT INCLUDE MY VEHICLE ACCORDING TO MY VIN NUMBER.

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (JEFF WYLER FAIRFIELD CADILLAC KIA NISSAN, 5815 DIXIE HWY, FAIRFIELD, OH 45014, (513) 682-2500) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT DECLINED TO PAY THE FEE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING; THEREFORE, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 30914316. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
THE LIGHT ON THE BOARD OF THE AIR BAGS TURNS ON AND OFF IN RED AT ALL TIMES WHEN IT IS ON. BUY THE CAR A DISTRIBUTOR ON MARCH 31 AND I MADE A WITHDRAWAL FOR A DEFECT IN THE AIR BAGS NISSAN COMMUNICATES WITH ME FOR A REPLACEMENT BUT IT HAS NOT HAPPENED. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY WHEN USING THE VEHICLE.
"TAKATA RECALL" BUY MY AUTO USED ON MARCH 31 OF THIS YEAR IN A DEALER. ON THE PANEL THE LIGHT OF THE AIRBAGS ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME THE TIME. THE SELLER INDICATED THAT I HAD A RECALL BUT NISSAN SEND ME A LETTER EXPLAINING THE RECALL AND WHERE I HAD TO TAKE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING AND THE VIN DOES NOT APPEAR INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THAT MODEL AND YEAR. ON AUGUST 21 I RECORDED AND FILLED THE FILE TO VEHICLE SAFETY COMPLAINT BUT I HAVE ALSO RECEIVED AN ANSWER. I AM VERY CONCERNED WITH THIS SITUATION, THAT A MISTAKE MAY OCCUR AND THAT AFTERNOON TO TAKE ACTION. I HOPE YOUR RESPONSE, THANK YOU.

A LOANER VEHICLE WAS PROVIDED WHEN THE AIR BAG RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE CONTACT LATER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V401000 (AIR BAGS) AND WAS WAITING TO DETERMINE THE MANUFACTURER GUIDELINES TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
PLEACE HELP NISSAN MO RESPOND MY CALL
WHILE FAMILY TRAVELING, CAR BEGAN TO SKIP AND VIBRATE AND SLOW DOWN. THEN COULD NOT PRESS GAS PEDAL AND MAINTAIN SPEED TO GET OFF ROAD IN A EXCESSABLE AREA WHICH ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENT BY OTHERS NOT REALIZING THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND IT DID HAPPEN QUICKLY SO OTHERS HAD LITTLE TIME TO RESPOND. THIS HAPPENED ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY IN BUSY SECTION. AFTER TOWING BACK TO TOWN, IT WAS FOUND TO BE A FAILED CVT TRANSMISSION WHICH HAS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM BY NISSAN FOR MANY YEARS AND THEY EVEN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON MODELS UP TO 2010 BUT SINCE MINE IS 2012, IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS EXTENSION?
I HAD MY CAR SERVICED AT DAVID MCDAVID NISSAN. I HAD IT SERVICED IN AUGUST 2017 FOR THE AIRBAGS. THEN IN DECEMBER MY AIRBAG LIGHTS CAME ON. BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER LIGHTS ARE ON. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THERE WAS ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE AIRBAGS. AFTER A MONTH OF THE DEALERSHIP HAVING MY CAR THE AIRBAG LIGHTS ARE STILL ON. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE AIRBAG LIGHTS BEING ON HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL
STEERING COLUMN LOCKED UP KEY WOULDN'T UNLOCK SO I COULD DRIVE. STEERING WHEEL JUST WOULDN'T UNLOCK. HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED
MY AUTO IS DISABLED. KEY DOESN'T TURN, THE WHEELS ARE LOCKED UP AND NOTICED THAT THERE IS HESITATION WHEN SHIFTING MADE A NOSE. I CAN'T DRIVE MY AUTO AT ALL. I AM STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PAYMENTS ON THE VEHICLE. IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE A REGULAR WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE.

TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V449000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED JIM BONE NISSAN (1275 SANTA ROSA AVENUE, SANTA ROSA, CA 95404; 707-545-7050) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE AROUND APRIL OF 2018. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TAKATA RECALL - I CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT NISSAN ISN'T PROVIDING A REPLACEMENT AIRBAG UNTIL AT LEAST MARCH OR APRIL OF 2018. MY COLLEGE STUDENT DRIVES THIS CAR IN FLORIDA WHERE SHE GOES TO SCHOOL IT'S HUMID IN FLORIDA AND THE INFORMATION I'VE READ STATES HUMIDITY CAN CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY. WAITING FOR A REPLACEMENT FOR 3-4 MONTHS ISN'T SUFFICIENT.
MOISTURE GETS INTO THE SEALED TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLIES CAUSING A SHORT WHICH THEN CAUSES THE COMPUTER TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION SINCE IT THINKS YOU HAVE APPLIED THE BRAKES. THIS WILL OBVIOUSLY CAUSE THE TAILLIGHTS TO FAIL AND MAY CAUSE TRANSMISSION ISSUES RESULTING IN ACCIDENTS.

COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND NO BRAKING WHATSOEVER. FORTUNATELY, STOPPED THE CAR BY USING THE HANDBRAKE. PROPER FUNCTION RETURNED AFTER TURNING OFF AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MY 2012 NISSAN VERSA FOR A DEFECTIVE FRONT DRIVER AIR BAG INFLATOR. I FOUND AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THROUGH WWW.AIRBAGRECALL.COM. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT SHEEHY NISSAN/MECHANICS 6564 MECHANICSVILLE PIKE, MECHANICSVILLE (804) 417-1012. I BROUGHT MY CAR IN ON MONDAY DECEMBER 4, 2017 AND WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THE AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACEMENT PART WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SPRING 2018. THE FRONT DRIVER AIR BAG INFLATOR HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED.

THE DEALER (CLASSIC NISSAN OF SANFORD, 3305 NC-87, SANFORD, NC 27332 (919) 775-2351) CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
1) THE AIR BAG LIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF WITHOUT WARNING AND REASON. THEY HAVE NOT EVER DEPLOYED (YET). VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENS. 2) MY HUSBAND'S RIGHT SHOE OFTEN GETS CAUGHT ON THE EDGE OF THE CENTER CONSOLE PANEL-MAKING IS DIFFICULT TO MOVE HIS FOOT TO THE BRAKE. WE HAVE HAD TWO NEAR MISSED WHEN HE WAS TRYING TO HIT THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND THESE INCIDENCES OCCUR WHEN WE ARE TRYING TO TRANSITION FROM ACCELERATOR TO BRAKE. 3) WINDSHIELD-A SMALL PEBBLE HIT THE WINDSHIELD AND CAUSED A LITTLE DAMAGE. WE TOOK IT TO GET REPAIRED (NOT REPLACED). IT JUST RECENTLY CRACKED AND NOW THE WHOLE WINDSHIELD NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE HAD A COUPLE WINDSHIELDS REPAIRED ON OTHER VEHICLES AND HAVE HAD NOT HAD PROBLEMS. I HAVE CALLED A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO FIX THESE ISSUES. RECALL #"S 17V-144 15V-507
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE TRIED CALLING THE CLOSEST NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAVE TAKEN MY NISSAN VERSA BEFORE FOR A RECALL PART, TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THEM TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG AND THEY KEEP SENDING ME TO DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS OF THE CAR DEALERSHIP. TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE RECEIVED NOTICES OF THIS, BUT WAS TOLD BY THE NISSAN DEALER THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS NEEDED TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED THE MANUFACTURER RECALL DATED MARCH 6, 2017 FOR THE AIRBAGS (NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 17V-144, MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER R1709), BUT AS OF TODAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2017, IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED BY NISSAN DEALER, THEY KEEP SAYING THAT THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL. MY AIRBAGS HAVE BEEN RECALLED !! I AM VERY CONCERNED AND TOYOTA HAS NO AIRBAGS AVAILABLE!!!
I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE (NO. 15V-573) THAT WAS ISSUED 09/10/15. IT APPEARS THAT IT IS STILL INCOMPLETE. HOW ARE THEY ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH NOT PROVIDING A REMEDY IN A TIMELY MANNER. AND NOW ANOTHER RECALL (NO. 17V-449) SAYS THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A PART TO REPAIR THE DEFECT (TAKATA AIR BAG INFLATOR RUPTURE). THE FIRST RECALL SAYS THE DEFECT COULD RESULT IN DAMAGES THAT COULD RESULT IN A CRASH AND THE AIR BAG DEPLOYING COULD RESULT IN DEATH. WHAT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE WHEN YOU CAN'T TRADE IN THE CAR? ALSO, I'M NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE PART IN THE CLASS ACTION BECAUSE I HAVEN'T TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR YET (BECAUSE I CAN'T). NOW I'M VERY ANXIOUS EVERY TIME I GET BEHIND THE WHEEL OF MY CAR.

TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V449000 (AIR BAGS) WAS RECEIVED IN NOVEMBER OF 2017. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER (A UNKNOWN NISSAN DEALER OF TURNERSVILLE NEW JERSEY) AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE RECALL REMEDY WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE PROVIDED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

I RECEIVED NOTICE FROM NISSAN IN AUGUST TELLING ME TO NOT CALL THE LOCAL DEALER AND TO WAIT FOR NISSAN TO CONTACT ME WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. TODAY I GET A LEGAL NOTICE IN THE MAIL REGARDING THE TAKATA CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY HEARINGS AND TOLD TO CONTACT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP. EDWARDS NISSAN OF COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA TOLD ME THEY WILL NOT HAVE PARTS UNTIL AT LEAST EARLY SPRING 2018 AND THEY WOULD PUT ME ON THE LIST OF PEOPLE TO CONTACT WHEN PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE. I GUESS TO ME, THAT IS NOT VERY TIMELY. THAT IS AN "ESTIMATE" OF WHEN THEY "THINK" THEY CAN FIX IT. I'D ALSO LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS RECALL IS SUPPOSED TO INCLUDE JUST THE DRIVER SIDE BAG OR IF IT IS SUPPOSED TO INCLUDE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME TO MAKE ME TAKE IT IN TWICE IF MY VEHICLE HAS JUST NOT BEEN RELEASED AS SEARCHABLE REGARDING THE PASSENGER BAG.
TAMARA RECALL. I CALLED DON WILLIAMSON NISSAN HERE IN JACKSONVILLE NC 28540.THE GUYS SAID THERE IS A RECALL BUT I WILL HAVE TO WAIT TILL I GET A SECOND NOTICE NEXT YEAR IN APRIL 2018 TO SEE WHEN IT WILL BE ABLE TO BE FIXED. BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS.
TAKATA RECALL I CAME IN TO MY DEALERSHIP TODAY FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I WAS THEN TOLD ABOUT THE AIRBAG INFLATOR RECALL. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED BY MAIL IN THE 60 DAY TIME FRAME OUTLINES ON THE NHTSA RECALL PAGE(60 DAYS FROM JULY 17). IT'S BEEN 41 DAYS PAST THIS MARK. WHEN TOLD ABOUT IT, I WAS TOLD THAT THE PART WOULDN'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL MID-FALL. THE DELAY IN NOTIFICATION AND LACK OF AVAILABLE PART LEAVES MY WIFE DRIVING AN AIRBAG THAT WOULD OPERATE LIKE A SHOTGUN BLAST TO HER FACE. THIS SITUATION IS UNACCEPTABLE, AND NISSAN HAS NOT RESPONDED APPROPRIATELY.
