TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATE WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE FAILURE WAS ALSO PRESENT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STATIONARY POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER (FILSBEE NISSAN IN FILSBEE, TX) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE BOTH NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
I WAS NOTIFIED MONTHS AGO THAT MY CAR WAS RECALLED BECAUSE SENSOR PINS MAY HAVE DETERIORATED AND THAT CLOSING CAR DOOR COULD CAUSE UNEXPECTED DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS WITH INJURY OR DEATH AS A RESULT. I CANNOT GET DEFINITIVE INFORMATION FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND MY LETTER OF COMPLAINT TO NHTSA DATED 5/30/17 HAS NOT BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED OR ANSWERED. I AM QUITE UPSET AT THE PROSPECT OF MYSELF AND/OR A PASSENGER BEING KILLED OR INJURED BY FLYING SHRAPNEL IF MY SENSORS DESIGNED WITH INCOMPATIBLE METALS ARE COMPROMISED. I AM EVEN MORE UPSET THAT I AM FORCED TO DRIVE THIS TIMEBOMB AND THAT I AM UNABLE TO FIND OUT WHEN THIS HORRIBLE SITUATION WILL BE RECTIFIED. THE WHOLE PROCESS IS UNSETTLING, DISGUSTING, AND FRUSTRATING ESPECIALLY SINCE I AM FORCED TO FEEL STRESSED EVERY TIME I DRIVE AND EVERY TIME I TRY TO GET INFORMATION LET ALONE REPAIR. WHO CARES? MY FAMILY DOES!
TAKATA RECALL NISSAN DEALERSHIP OF MY LOCATION STATES THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL UNTIL SPRING 2018, AND THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO STATES THAT RENTALS WILL BE PROVIDED TO THOSE WHO ARE AFFECTED BY SAID RECALL; WHILE THIS WOULD BE FINE, IT HAS BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACQUIRE SAID RENTAL IN WHICH THE DEALERSHIP HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE SUCH INDIVIDUALS WITH REPLACEMENTS. I ATTEMPT TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP EVERY 3-4 DAYS, IN WHICH I AM CONSISTENTLY TOLD THAT NO RENTALS ARE AVAILABLE; AND "WE NORMALLY RECEIVE MORE AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF BUSINESS HOURS." IF ATTEMPTING TO CALL AT SAID TIMES, THE SAME ANSWER IS GIVEN. THE DEALERSHIP HAS OFFERED TO TAKE MY CONTACT INFORMATION TO INFORM ME WHEN RENTALS ARE AVAILABLE; AND I HAVE WAITED OVER ONE MONTH WITH NO CALL BACK; I HAVE SINCE STARTED PESTERING THEM ONCE MORE, WITH NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT. I WON'T ASSUME THAT THE DEALERSHIP IS HOLDING OUT ON GIVING TAKATA RECALLED VEHICLE OWNER'S RENTALS AS THEY WOULD RECEIVE NO CURRENCY IN EXCHANGE FOR SUCH; BUT I AM APPALLED THAT ANY CORPORATION WOULD ALLOW INDIVIDUALS TO OPERATE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS VEHICLES FOR OVER SIX MONTHS WHILE TREATING SAID INDIVIDUALS WITH DISREGARD. WHILE I HAVE LIMITED THE USAGE OF MY VEHICLE TO THE MINIMUM, ONLY UTILIZING IT IN NECESSARY PREDICAMENTS SUCH AS WORK TRANSPORT; I KNOW NOT AT WHAT RISK MYSELF AND MANY OTHERS NEAR ME FACE EACH TIME WE DRIVE DUE TO THE INCOMPETENCE OF THE DEALERSHIPS NEAR MY LOCATION.
ON TUESDAY, MAY 23, 2017, I WAS DRIVING ON US 95 NORTHBOUND IN LAS VEGAS. IT WAS AROUND 5:30 PM, SO RUSH-HOUR. TRAFFIC WAS BUMPER TO BUMPER. I WAS IN THE FAR LEFT LANE NOT EVEN GOING 15 MPH. TRAFFIC HAD STARTED TO MOVE AND AS I HIT THE CAR I NOTICED MY CAR HAD NO POWER AND MY CAR HAD DIED! A BUNCH OF LIGHTS CAME ON MY DASHBOARD BUT THE CAR WAS NOT OVERHEATING. I COASTED OVER TO THE LEFT EMERGENCY LANE. I SHUT THE CAR OFF, WAITED ABOUT 5 MIN AND TURNED THE CAR BACK ON. ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD WENT OFF AND THE CAR DID NOT SHOW THAT IT WAS OVERHEATING. I BEGAN TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE AND HAD NO OTHER PROBLEMS FROM THERE. BUT MY CAR SHOULDN'T JUST DIE IN TRAFFIC! I'M GLAD TRAFFIC WAS BUMPER TO BUMPER AND NOT CRAZY! IF MY CAR HAD DIED WHILE GOING FASTER I MAY HAVE BEEN HIT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN VERSA. WHEN PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND ATTEMPTING TO APPLY THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS FOR THE BRAKE FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER LOCATED IN CHICAGO, IL. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID HOSE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000. UPDATED 07/18/17*LJ *JS

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE RECEIVED A NOTICE STATING THAT THERE IS A RECALL AND I WOULD RECEIVE ANOTHER LETTER WHEN THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE WHICH WOULD BE BY THE END OF APRIL. IT IS NOW GOING INTO THE END OF MAY AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY LETTER. THIS VEHICLE HAS AN ACTIVE RECALL CURRENTLY. I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE ANY OTHER VEHICLE AS THIS IS MY PRIMARY USE OF TRANSPORTATION. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE STATUS OF THIS REQUEST IS. THE INITIAL RECALL ADVISES IT WAS RECALLED ON JANUARY 10, 2017 BUT I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY NOTIFICATION UNTIL APRIL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. UPON STARTING VEHICLE ONE DAY IN MAY 2017, AIRBAG ALERT BEGAN TO FLASH WHILE DRIVING. AFTER LOOKING INTO CURRENT RECALLS USING THE VIN, I LEARNED OF AN AIRBAG RECALL THAT APPLIED TO MY VEHICLE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED NISSAN SERVICE CENTER TO HAVE THE AIRBAG ISSUE CORRECTED. I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE AIRBAG RECALL ISSUE HAD BEEN SERVICED. AFTER DRIVING OFF THE NISSAN SERVICE LIGHT I NOTICED THE AIRBAG SENSOR STILL FLASHING SO DROVE BACK TO ASK ABOUT THE ALERT. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT I DIDN'T HAVE FUNCTIONING AIRBAGS, IF I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT THEY WOULD NOT DEPLOY. ONLY BECAUSE I RETURNED AND QUESTIONED THE SERVICE TEAM, DID I FIND OUT THAT THIS AIRBAG ISSUE WAS STILL PRESENT. THE NISSAN SERVICE TEAM DENIED RESPONSIBILITY OF FIXING THE ISSUE OR EVEN LOOKING INTO IT TO SEE IF IT MAY BE RELATED TO THE AIRBAG DEFECT. SINCE MALFUNCTIONING AIRBAGS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH, I THINK THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. THE NISSAN SERVICE TEAM COMPLETELY NEGLECTED TO INFORM ME OF NONFUNCTIONAL AIRBAGS BEFORE RETURNING MY VEHICLE TO ME AND I FIND THIS ISSUE VERY ALARMING.

CVT TRANSMISSION. CAR WAS IN MOTION, COULD NOT ACCELERATE FROM STOPPED AT RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. TOOK TO NISSAN IN GAINESVILLE FL...TOLD IT NEEDED NEW TRANSMISSION, QUOTED OVER 3500.00. CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND PUTS OCCUPANTS AT RISK FOR REAR END COLLISIONS. CAR HAS LESS THAN 110K. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR THIS SERIOUS ISSUE TO BE TAKING PLACE. HAD CVT FLUSHED AND REPROGRAMMED PRIOR (DEC 2016). AND NOW THIS ISSUE IS HAPPENING. I HAVE READ MANY FORUMS AND COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS CVT NONSENSE AND EVIDENTLY SAFETY IS NOT A PRIORI FOR NISSAN. BOUGHT CAR NEW AND HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER....HAVE HAD OTHER MINOR ISSUES FIXED WHEN THEY HAPPENED, BUT A TRANSMISSION THAT IS FAULTY IS UNACCEPTABLE. WROTE A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO NISSAN HEADQUARTERS AND HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A RESPONSE ON WHAT THEY INTEND TO DO ABOUT THE ISSUE...ITS FAULTY. THIS CORPORATION SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND LIABLE FOR NEGLECT ON THEIR PART. YOU DON'T JEOPARDIZE THE SAFETY OF YOUR CONSUMERS IN THIS MANNER. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT HAS TO BE FIXED NEXT WEEK. UNDERSTAND PEOPLE HAVE LIVELIHOODS AND JOBS....YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR VEHICLE, THAT IT WOULD LAST A LOT LONGER THAN 110K...THAT'S LOW MILEAGE BY TODAY'S STANDARDS. MY SON WAS IN TRAFFIC WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BEING SLAMMED FROM THE REAR.

TAKATA RECALL I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY INFO ON A REPAIR FOR THIS RECALL. I WOULD ALSO LIKE INFO ON HOW TO JOIN THE CLASS ACTION AGAINST NISSAN AND TAKATA
AFTER BEING ON THE FREEWAY FOR A ABOUT AN HOUR, I FINALLY TOOK AN EXIT AND STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN I PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE AT A GREEN LIGHT, THE VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE EVEN AFTER PRESSING ALL THE WAY DOWN ON THE GAS, BUT AFTER ABOUT GEN SECONDS IT SPEEDED UP VERY RAPIDLY AND I QUICKLY HAD TO PRESS ON THE BRAKE IN ORDER TO AVOID CRASHING INTO A VEHICLE IN FRONT. IT CONTINUED TO DO THIS AT ANY STOPS I MADE UNTIL I ARRIVED HOME. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC, AS THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT ALERTED ME OF ANY ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. AGAIN I FELT THE VEHICLE TAKE A BIT TO ACCELERATE AFTER COMING TO A STOP BUT IT WAS NOT LIKE THE NIGHT BEFORE, IT WAS DRIVE ABLE. AFTER LEAVING IT AT THE SHOP THEY LET ME KNOW THAT THE TRANSMISSION ON THE VEHICLE WAS THE PROBLEM, IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. A $4000 REPLACEMENT ON A 5 YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH ONLY 103000 MILES. I DECIDED TO DRIVE BACK HOME AND AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, I WAS ON A BUSY STREET AND THE CAR BEGAN TO JERK. IT WOULD ACCELERATE, DECELERATE, THEN ACCELERATE AGAIN. I TURNED ON MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS TO ALARM VEHICLES BEHIND ME TO PROCEED WITH CAUTION, AS MY CAR WOULD DECELERATE OUT OF NOWHERE. AGAIN THE BIGGEST ISSUE WAS THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY OTHER LIGHT DID NOT TURN ON. IT WASN'T UNTIL I GOT HOME THAT THE LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON. THE CVT TRANSMISSION IN THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE, AND THE FACT THAT DRIVERS DON'T GET ANY SORT OF ALERT AS TO A PROBLEM WITH THEIR VEHICLE IS UNSAFE. PHYSICALLY MY VEHICLE IS NOT DAMAGED, BUT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT THESE TRANSMISSIONS FAIL IN THE MIDDLE OF A STREET.

THE TRANSMISSION DON'T KNOW WHAT GEAR TO BE IN WHEN DRIVING. WHEN AT A STOP IT TRIES TO MOVE BACK AND THEN TRIES TO MOVE FORWARD WITH YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKES.
2012 NISSA VERSA HATCHBACK. FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SUSPENSION SPRING BROKE SUNDAY, APRIL 16TH, 2017. VEHICLE'S ODOMETER WAS JUST OVER 56,000 MILES AT THE TIME. TRAVELLING FOR THE WEEKEND, PUT ON ABOUT 70 MILES BEFORE IT BROKE. THE SPRING BROKE WHILE IN PARK. UNBEKNOWNST TO ME AT THE TIME, THIS SPRING WAS PART OF RECALL 15V573000. I HAD NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION REGARDING THIS RECALL, SO I HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED AT A LOCAL SHOP. THEN, AFTER LATER LEARNING OF THE RECALL, I CONTACTED NISSAN MULTIPLE TIMES REQUESTING ANY FORM OF REIMBURSEMENT, EVEN PARTIAL REIMBURSEMENT. I WAS DENIED BECAUSE THE REPAIR WORK HAD NOT BEEN DONE BY THEM. THEY CLAIMED THEY WERE "NOT IN A POSITION" TO OFFER ANY TYPE OF REIMBURSEMENT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT BUY THE VEHICLE BACK. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AS MY CAR CAME TO NO POWER ENGINE ON WILL NOT DRIVE I HAD MY INSURANCE TOTALED THE CAR TO THE NEAREST DEALER THE DEALER TELLS ME I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION I DON'T HAVE $4,000 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION!
I HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AS A RECALL THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY SOLVED 11 DAYS BEFORE MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED. MY CAR HAS BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR LESS THAN 5 YEARS (IT WILL BE 5 YEARS THIS DECEMBER) AND IS STILL UNDER 60,000 MILES (IT HAS ABOUT 52,000). BOTH OF THE FRONT SPRINGS RECENTLY BROKE, AND I AM FROM ONE OF THE STATES WHO ISSUED A RECALL FOR NISSAN VERSAS MANUFACTURED FROM 2006- NOVEMBER 11, 2012 (MINE WAS MANUFACTURED ON NOVEMBER 23, 2012). THIS TYPE OF ISSUE CANNOT BE CAUSED BY USER ERROR, AND THE RECALL THAT DOES NOT COVER MY VEHICLE SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED THAT THE FRONT SPRINGS COULD BE CORRODED BY SALT ON THE ROAD FOR THINGS LIKE SNOW- SOMETHING THAT IS A BIG ISSUE IN MY STATE. I BELIEVE THAT THE SPRINGS SHOULD BE COVERED AND/OR RECALLED AT LESS THAN 5 YEARS OR 60,000 MILES, ESPECIALLY SO SOON AFTER THEY ALLEGEDLY FIXED/CHANGED THE PART OUTLINED IN THE RECALL. I STARTED HEARING CLUNKING NOISES THAT INCREASED OVER THE COURSE OF A WEEK IN SOUND AND FREQUENCY, ONLY WHEN I TURNED MY WHEEL FAR (IN EITHER DIRECTION) WHETHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION, REGARDLESS OF SPEED.

ON 8 MARCH 2017, MY BATTERY DIED AND I HAD IT REPLACED AT TJ AUTOMATICS & SERVICES. I DROVE THE CAR FOR A FEW DAYS BEFORE GOING ON VACATION. ON 21 MARCH 2017, AS I'M DRIVING HOME ON THE FAR (FAST) LEFT LANE, ON I-85N, ATLANTA, GA.AT APPROXIMATELY 3:30PM, THE CAR SHUTS-DOWN. I WAS ABLE TO COAST OVER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE WITHOUT INCIDENT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE ABOVE MENTIONED SHOP AND THEY PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT SHOWED ECM NO COMMUNICATION. THEY REPLACED A MAXI FUSE 20A AND REPROGRAMED KEY. ON 23 MARCH 2017, I PICK UP THE CAR FROM THE SHOP, DROVE ABOUT 5 MILES AND CAR SHUTS-DOWN AGAIN. AS OF 9 APRIL 2017, THE CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP. THEY CAN NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE.

I HAVE A 2012 NISSAN VERSA SV WITH A CVT TRANSMISSION IN IT. AT ABOUT 110000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING. IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT WE DO A DRAIN AND FILL ON THE TRANSMISSION, THAT WAS DONE CAR MADE IT 5 MILES AND TRANSMISSION WENT COMPLETELY OUT. THE DEALERSHIP MENTIONED TO MY WIFE THIS HAS A 50/50 CHANCE OF WORKING. ON THEIR STATEMENT THEY POSTED THAT IT NEEDED A 4000 TRANSMISSION BEFORE SHE LEFT THE LOT WITH IT. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF READING ON THESE CVT TRANSMISSIONS AND THEY ARE NOTORIOUS FOR ISSUES ALL THE WAY UP UNTIL 2010 THEY EVEN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS 120,000 MILES, NISSAN DOES NOT WANT TO STAND BEHIND THIS THEY HAVE OFFERED US 750.00 ON A KNOWN DEFECT WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS.

TAKATA RECALL. I WAS NOTIFIED IN THE SPRING OF 2017 THAT MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS WERE RECALLED AND CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. TO THIS DATE, DESPITE CONTACTING MY DEALERSHIP FOR THE REPAIR, ROYAL NISSAN OF BATON ROUGE OVER 6 TIMES, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY ROYAL NISSAN THAT TAKATA HAS NOT SENT THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR.

PRAISE GOD THE CAR BEHIND ME MOVED OVER TO THE NEXT LANE, I LOOK AT MY SHIFT AND IT WAS STILL IN DRIVE, AND SOMETIMES ALTHOUGH I HAVE MY FOOT ON THE BREAK THE VEHICLE TIRED TO MOVE.
I BOUGHT RECENTLY 2012 NISSAN VERSA CAR WITH THEIR CVT TRANSMISSION. NOT EVEN AFTER 6 MONTHS OF USING THE CAR, IT COMPLETELY WENT OUT. THE DEALERSHIP OFFERED TO REPLACE IT FOR $4300, WHICH IS ABOUT THE SAME AS MARKET VALUE OF THE CAR. AFTER READING MORE ONLINE, I FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS REALLY COMMON ISSUE AND THIS TRANSMISSIONS GO OUT VERY OFTEN. ON TOP OF THAT THEY CAN'T BE REBUILD. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THEIR FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS AND THEY HAD RECALLS ON DIFFERENT MODELS, BUT ARE STILL AVOIDING ON THIS ONE. THEY ALSO HAVE SOME SOFTWARE ISSUE, THAT CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS WITH PRESSURE WHEN CHANGING GEARS BETWEEN D AND L. WE WERE ABOUT TO GET THE ADVISED UPDATED LAST SATURDAY, UNFORTUNATELY THE CAR DIDN'T MAKE IT. THE OFFICIAL LETTER STATES THAT IT COULD LOWER THE DURABILITY OF THE TRANSMISSION, THEY DIDN'T WANT TO ADMIT IT ON THE PHONE. MY CASE WAS EVALUATED BY SUMMER, FROM HQ AND GOT NOTIFIED BY HER THAT NISSAN, WON'T HELP IN ANY WAY.
