STEERING WHEEL APPEARED TO 'LOCK" WHEN SITTING IN TRAFFIC, WOULD NOT TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION FOR ABOUT 2-3 SECONDS, THEN RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. DID SAME THING AGAIN NEXT DAY AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY ONTO THE STREET, WOULD NOT TURN AND WENT STRAIGHT INTO THE STREET. IN BOTH CASES, WAS NOT TRAVELING VERY FAST. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER WITHIN 2 DAYS AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. OPENED CASE WITH TECH ASSISTANCE. *NM
CAR IS 3 MONTHS OLD AND FRONT WINDSHIELD HAS CHIPPED AND CRACKED SIGNIFICANTLY IN SEVERAL SPOTS AT THE FIRST CONTACT WITH ANY DEGREE OF IMPACT(SMALL STONES, SLOW SPEEDS, HIGH SPEEDS, ETC). I NOTICED ABOUT 8 LITTLE CHIPS ALL OVER THE GLASS, INSIDE AND OUT WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH. NOW, THERE IS A HUGE SLIT IN BETWEEN THE PANEL OF THE GLASS AND THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD NOW NEEDS REPLACING. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE QUALITY OF THE GLASS THAT WAS PUT IN THIS VEHICLE. I OWNED A USED 1997 CHRYSLER CIRRUS FOR 6 YEARS PRIOR TO BUYING THIS G6 3 MONTHS AGO, AND I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED EVEN ONE CHIP IN THE WINDSHIELD AND IT WAS DRIVEN UNDER THE SAME CONDITIONS FOR THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE CAR. *JB
INTERMITTENT POWER STEERING FAILURE. STEERING WHEEL WILL OCCASIONALLY LOCK UP WITH POWER STEERING MESSAGE IN RADIO DISPLAY AND ERROR MESSAGE IN ODOMETER DISPLAY. FIRST TIME DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BCM. SECOND OCCURRENCE DEALERSHIP REPLACED STEERING COLUMN AND INSTALLED FAULT ANALYZER. ANALYZER IS STILL INSTALLED AND SCHEDULED FOR REMOVAL 11/11/05 FOR READOUT. *NM
ON OUR 2005 PONTIAC GT 6, DURING MOST DAYLIGHT DRIVING CONDITIONS, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS SO DIFFICULT TO READ THAT, AT TIMES, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL HOW FAST ONE IS TRAVELING. SOMETIMES, IT TAKES A SECOND OR MORE TO MAKE IT OUT. RARELY, IT IS EASILY READABLE. WE THINK THAT THE EXTRA TIME NEEDED TO DISCERN ONE'S SPEED, IF IT CAN BE DETERMINED AT ALL, COULD EASILY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. THE GAS GAUGE AND COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGES ARE EVEN MORE DIFFICULT TO MAKE OUT, BUT THAT DOES NOT REPRESENT AS SERIOUS A PROBLEM AS FAILING TO BE ABLE TO READ ONE'S SPEED. IF THE ABILITY EXISTED TO TURN ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING, THE PROBLEM WOULD BE ELIMINATED. *NM
STEERING LOCKS UP. DEALERSHIP HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT 3-4 TIMES TO KNOW SUCCESS. WHEN STEERING LOCKS THERE IS NO WAY TO STEER THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ATLEAST 20 TIMES OVER THE PAST 3 MONTHS. 3 TIMES I HAVE ALMOST PUT THE CAR IN A DITCH, DROVE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND DROVE INTO A 4 FOOT HIGH SNOW BANK. *NM
MY 2005 PONTIAC G6'S DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR HAD AN ELECTRICAL SHORT WHICH CAUSED SMOKE TO COME FROM THE HEADLINER AREA. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY VEHICLE SINCE THEN AND HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A PART TO COME IN. THE DEALER SUSPECTS THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT DUE TO THEM NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND A REPLACEMENT PART. I SUSPECT THAT THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE STARTED A SERIOUS FIRE. *NM
PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW APRIL 9, 2005. MY CAR FIRST WENT TO THE GARAGE WITH STEERING PROBLEMS ON AUGUST 23, 2005 WITH A CURRENT MILEAGE OF 3,704. THE CAR WAS TOWED AFTER THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP AND I MANEUVERED SEVERAL CURVES AND A HILL TO STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MY CAR REMAINED IN THE GARAGE UNTIL 8/27/05 AND NOW HAD 3,716 MILES ON IT. I DROVE MY CAR FOR A FEW DAYS TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM OCCUR WHEN MY HUSBAND WAS TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. ON SEPTEMBER 6, 2005 WE AGAIN CALLED FOR OUR CAR TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE GARAGE. CAR NOW HAS 3,899 MILES ON IT. THIS TIME THEY REPLACED THE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR. MILEAGE UPON RETURN WAS 3,948 MILES. NOW IN SEPTEMBER 2008 MY CAR HAS A LITTLE OVER 38,000 MILES AND I AM HAVING WHAT THE DEALER TELLS US IS A DIFFERENT PROBLEM AND WILL BE OUR EXPENSE. WE ARE HAVING A POPPING NOISE IN THE STEERING IN THE FRONT END. THE DEALER TELLS US THIS IS POSSIBLY THE STEERING SHAFT ASSEMBLY. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT THIS CAR IS SO UNRELIABLE AND IT SEEMS THE SAME PROBLEMS ARE CONTINUING WITH GM CARS EVEN IN 2008 MODELS. I THINK THAT GM SHOULD BE OFFERING TO PURCHASE OUR VEHICLES BACK THE SAME AS I HAVE RECENTLY HEARD A FRIEND SAY THAT TOYOTA DID FOR THEM AT A PERCENTAGE OVER THE CURRENT VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. DIFFERENT FROM GM THEY HAVE TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR PROBLEMS. IT SEEMS THAT GM IS DENYING THE PROBLEMS WITH THEIR VEHICLES. I HAVE ALREADY RESEARCHED THE LEMON LAWS. MAYBE MORE OWNERS SHOULD DO THE SAME. GM SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE DIES WITH THE MAJOR STEERING PROBLEMS THEY HAVE. ALSO ANOTHER PROBLEM WE HAVE HAD IS THAT THE INFORMATION CENTER DISPLAYS ARE EFFECTED BY THE OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE. *TR
TOO MANY COMPLAINTS TO WRITE THEM ALL UP, HERE ARE A FEW: ENGINE MAKES METAL GRINDING "WHOOSHING" NOISE INDEPENDENT FROM ACCELERATION-DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE, WARPED ROTORS-DEALER WANTED OVER $1,000 TO FIX, HAVE HAD RADIO REPLACED 5 TIMES DUE TO DISC ERRORS-DEALER KEEPS REPLACING, HAD STEERING RACK AND WATER PUMP REPLACED AT 30,000 MILES-DEALER COVERED, SENSOR THAT TURNS ON LIGHTS WENT-DEALER REPLACED, POWER STEERING PROBLEMS, HARD TO TURN AND ROUGH, BUT NO "LOCK-UPS" LIKE OTHERS HAVE HAD(THANKFULLY)-DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE, HAD DRIVERS SIDE FRONT PANEL SUNROOF DRAIN CLOG, WATER SOAKED FRONT CARPET(3 INCHES OF WATER)-DEALER FIXED BUT LEFT ME WITH A MOLDY CARPET!, ENGINE FLUTTERS/STUTTERS TO A START ON RANDOM-DEALER HAS NO ANSWER FOR ME, TRUNK LID WAS SCRAPING REAR BUMPER DUE TO LATCHES BEING TIGHTENED WRONG-DEALER FIXED, HEADLAMP FULL OF CONDENSATION-DEALER FIXED, CAR RIDICULOUSLY BAD IN THE RAIN AND SNOW, STABILITY CONTROL MAKES LOUD GRINDING NOISES AND CAUSES THE CAR TO BUCK, REPLACED TIRES WITH SNOW TIRES, STILL BAD-DEALER HAS NO ANSWER FOR ME, LARGE DEEP SCRATCH ACROSS WINDSHIELD RIGHT IN THE LINE OF VIEW FROM CONTOUR OEM WINDSHIELD WIPERS, DEALER SAID TOO BAD. THOSE ARE JUST A FEW, I CANT REMEMBER THEM ALL, THIS CAR IS SUCH A LEMON. IM STICKING WITH TOYOTA FROM NOW ON! I LEARNED MY LESSON! *TR
I TOOK A LEASE OVER OF A 2005 G6 LESS THAN A YEAR AGO. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. A LOT OF TIMES IT DOESN'T START JUST SPUTTERS REPEATEDLY. TOOK IT IN TO GET IT CHECKED OUT OF COURSE THEY SAY THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. RIGHT AFTER WE GOT THE CAR WE HAD TO HAVE THE BRAKES REPLACED AND ALSO THERE WAS A CLUNKING NOISE. HAD TO HAVE BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT FRONT STRUTS REPLACED. CLUNKING NOISE STILL HAD NOT GONE AWAY, EVERYTIME I TAKE IT IN I COMPLAIN OF THE CLUNKING AND EACHTIME THEY SAY IT IS DUE TO SOMETHING ELSE THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HAVE HAD A PULSATION PROBLEM WHEN BRAKES APPLIED. POWER STEERING WENT ON IT QUITE A FEW TIMES, HAD IT REPLACED AND HAS DONE IT SINCE. THE REARVIEW MIRROR SNAPPED RIGHT OFF WHEN BEING ADJUSTED. VISOR COVER SNAPPED OFF. DOOR LOCK KNOB SNAPPED OFF. MOST OF THE WORK WE HAVE HAD DONE WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY. THE WARRANTY IS NOW UP AND THE RIGHT BALL BEARING NOW NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WHICH IS WHY I HEAR CLUNKING IS WHAT I WAS TOLD. HOW COME IT IS ALWAYS SOMETHING DIFFERENT CAUSING THE CLUNKING NOISE? IS GOING TO COST AROUND $500 TO FIX. WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK. WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NORTH AMERICAN MADE PIECE OF JUN AGAIN!!! *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2005 G6 1 MONTH AGO. WHEN I DRIVE AT NIGHT MY BRAKE LIGHT ARE ALWAYS ON. WHEN I TOUCH MY BRAKES THE LIGHTS GO OUT. THE DEALERSHIPS CAN NOT SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG. *TR
I RECENTLY PURCHASE A 2005 G6 I DID NOT KNOW AT THE TIME WHAT I KNOW NOW. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR 15 DAYS AND THE POWER STEERING IS GOING OUT AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRENTY. I HAVE 3 KIDS THAT RIDE IN THIS CAR AND THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE MY RELIABLE CAR WELL I THINK NOT!!!! NO RECALL I DON'T UNDERSTAND. *TR
1 THERE IS NOT EVENT BUT TIME. THIS SAFETY FEATURE FAILS AFTER A FEW DAYS 2 THE SPEED SENSITIVE AUTO VOLUME INCREASE FEATURE DOES NOT FUNCTION IN AM. THIS CREATES AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE THE DRIVER HAS TO MANUALLY ADJUST THE RADIO'S VOLUME TO COMPENSATE FOR SPEED RELATED NOISE. 3 REPLACED THE RADIO 3 TIMES. IT FAILED IN 2 DAYS. THE CAR WAS ONLY USED ABOUT 3 HOURS. *NM
WHEN TURNING THE IGNITION TO START THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT START RIGHT AWAY. IT SOUNDS LIKE IT DOES NOT WANT TO START, OR WON'T TURN OVER, FOLLOWING WHICH IT DOES EVENTUALLY START. IT HAS NOT FAILED TO START THE VEHICLE AS OF YET, HOWEVER IT HAS DONE THIS SEVERAL DOZEN TIMES (PROBABLY AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK)SINCE I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN THE PAST YEAR. I HAVE MENTIONED THE PROBLEM TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY ARE NEVER ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM, SO NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. *JB
STEERING ON THIS VEHICAL HAS LOCKED UP MULTIPLE TIMES, CAUSING THE VEHICAL TO GO OFF THE ROAD. GM HAS INVESTIGATED THE CAR AFTER THE PREVIOUS INCIDENT AND CLAIMED THERE WAS NO PROBLEM AND WILL NOT CHECK THE CAR AGAIN. MOST RECENT STEERING LOCKUP OCCURED AT 8400 MILES.
CONSUMER PONTIAC G6 MADE A RATTLING NOISE IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION. *TS ***NAR*** THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INSULATED THE FUEL FILLER TUBE. THE RATTLE WAS DECREASED BUT STILL NOTICEABLE. THE DEALER THEN SUGGESTED THE CONSUMER HAVE THE STEERING RACK REPLACED. THE RACK WAS REPLACED ON 7/6/05. THE NOISE CONTINUED AND THIS TIME THE DEALER REPLACED THE POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY AND STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY. THE NOISE RETURNED AND THE DEALER RESURFACED BOTH FRONT ROTORS, COMPLETED THE LATERAL RUNOUT CHECK AND INSTALLED BRAKE ALIGNMENT SHIMS BEHIND BOTH FRONT ROTORS. FOUR MONTHS LATER THE NOISE RETURNED. THIS TIME THE DEALER RESURFACED THE ROTORS AND REPLACED THE PADS. THE CONSUMER IS CONCERNED ABOUT ALL THE REPAIRS. *NM
DASH RATTLE,AT ABOUT 500 MILES BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE A RATTLE COMING FROM DRIVER'S SIDE OF DASH WHEN ON A ROUGH ROAD,A FEW MILE LATTER THE PASSENGER SIDE BEGAN SAME THING. VEHICLES HAD MADE NUMEROUS TRIPS TO DEALER, WHICH PROCEDED TO REPLACE STRUTS(ALSO VERY NOISEY,DEALER SAID IS NORMAL)DO'NT AGREE.AFTER CALLING PONTIAC ABOUT THE RATTLE PROBLEM DEALER MADE MORE OF EFFORT TO FIND PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH CAR DOE'S SEEM TO BE FIXED(RATTLE IN DASH) STILL HAVE APROBLEM WITH NOISE IN STRUTS AND LOOSE FEELING IN FRONT END WHEN BOTH WHEELS ENCOUNTER A ROUGH ROAD,AGAIN I AM TOLD THAT IS NORMAL,I DROVE A RENTAL-(06 G-6)NO NOISE WHAT SO EVERY HANDLED WELL ON ROUGH ROAD!
I HAD TAKEN A TRIP OUT OF STATE AND HAD BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR ABOUT THREE HOUR AND DECIDED TO STOP FOR DINNER, AFTER GOING THROUGH FOUR STOP LIGHTS THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SHIFTING EXTREMLY HARD IN TO GEARS, SO HARD THAT THE CAR WAS JERKING IN THE NEXT GEAR. I WENT THROUGH TWO MORE LIGHTS AND PULLED THE CAR OFF THE ROAD.THE DEALERSHIP HAD THE CAR PUT ON A ROLLBACK AND BROUGHT BACK THE N.C. AT MY REQUEST. THE SERVICE CENTER HAD THE CAR FOR NINE DAYS AND COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO REPEAT THE PROBLEM AND THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME WITH NO REPAIRS PREFORMED. THEY SAID THAT NO CODED SHOWED UP ON THE CARS COMPUTER.1024 MILES ON THIS G6
STEERING LOCKED UP AT START UP FOR THE FIRST FEW MINUTES. HAD PROBLEM LOOKED AT PRIOR TO IT BECOMING AN ISSUE WHILE DRIVING. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE STEERING COLUMN. AT THIS TIME I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING AT 10-15 MPH THE VEHICLE WAS HIT FROM BEHIND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WAS ENOUGH DAMAGE DONE TO THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE TO HAVE THE FAN BLADE AND RADIATOR REPLACED, HOWEVER THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WAS A POLICE REPORT TAKEN AT THE SCENE AND INJURIES DID OCCUR. MOST OF THE DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED.
DT: THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE CONTINUALLY ON, OTHER DRIVER'S THINK THE CONSUMER IS BRAKING AT ALL TIMES. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 7 TIMES AND CHANGED SWITCHES IN THE FOOT PEDALS AND BRAKES. THEY SAY IT HAS CODES OF BRAKE SLIPPING AND THEY STILL CANNOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *JB
1) DRIVING MY PONTIAC G6 ONTO A REGULAR DRIVEWAY SLOPE 2) FORWARD METAL IMPINGEMENTS (ONLY DRIVER SIDE AFFECTED) ATTACHED TO THE CHASSIS WAS BENT BACK DUE TO THE I-BEAM STRUCTURE "CATCHING" THE CONCRETE DRIVEWAY SLOPE. CONSEQUENCE OF DESIGN FAILURE CAUSED THE ENTIRE ENGINE CRADLE TO SHIFT AND THERE BY ALLOWING FOR AN INCREASE IN DAMAGE POSSIBILITIES TO ENGINE BLOCK AND RADIATOR TO OCCUR. ALSO WITH I-BEAM STRUCTURE BEING BENT DOWNWARD IT HAS CREATED A HANGING PIECE OF METAL TO POSSIBLY CATCH ROAD DEBRIS (COULD LEAD TO TIRE FAILURE) AND ALLOW SLOPE CHANGES IN THE ROAD TO ONCE AGAIN CATCH THE BENT METAL TO CREATE EVEN MORE DAMAGE. 3) THE DEALERSHIP SUGGESTED REPLACING TO THE WHOLE ENGINE CRADLE. I SUGGEST THAT GM SHOULD ATTACH A METAL BAR HORIZONTALLY TO THE TWO FRONT METAL IMPINGEMENTS TO EFFECTIVELY CREATE A GRIND BAR, GREATLY REDUCING THE POSSIBILITIES OF METAL BENDING CAUSING A ROAD HAZARD AND ENGINE CRADLE REPLACEMENT.
DT: THE CONSUMER STATED WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WILL START IMMEDIATELY AFTER STALLING. *AK UPDATED 11/29/05.*JB
STEERING SYSTEM LOCKED. THIS OCCURED ON THE HIGHWAY, GOING AROUND A RIGHT TURN AT 50MPH (UPHILL). IT RESULTED IN A COLLISION WITH THE CONCRETE BARRIER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE ABILITY TO STEER RETURNED AFTER THE DRIVER YANKED THE WHEEL HARD. THE DRIVER FELT A POP AND THE STEERING RETURNED, BUT THERE WAS NO TIME TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR.
ELECTRICAL. THE INFORMATION/RADIO/TEMP READING MALFUNCTIONS AND RESETS ITSELF. THE TEMPERATURE READING WILL STAY AT 77 DEGREES FOR HOURS (WHEN TEMP IS OTHER THAN THAT). WHILE LISTENING TO A CD, AND HITTING THE EJECT BUTTON - DISPLAY READS "NO DISC". RADIO WILL RESET ALL STATIONS AND TIME. RADIO DISPLAY WILL FLASH LINES OR NOT EVEN COME ON AT TIMES. OCCASIONALLY, IN WARM WEATHER, ON INITIAL START UP, RPM AND ENGINE WILL REV CLOSE TO 2000 RPM. BACK LIGHTING FOR COMFORT CONTROLS HAVE CHANGED FROM RED LIGHT TO ORANGE. ** THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, IN MY OPINION, GO FURTHER THAN RADIO INFORMATION, BUT APPARENTLY TO THE FUNCTION OF TEMPERATURE CONTROL WHILE STARTING THE CAR - AS STATED IN WARM WEATHER 85 DEGREES, IT START AS IF TEMP IS 20 DEGREES OUT. THIS HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE 3 TIMES. TWO TIMES THE RADIO WITH THE INFORMATION DISPLAY WAS REPLACED AND ANOTHER OCCASION THE TEMP SENSOR WAS REPLACED. PROBLEM CONTINUES. *JB
DT: ] THIS VEHICLE IS A NEW 2005 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH AND UP WITH BACK REAR WINDOWS DOWN THERE WAS POUNDING VIBRATION, IT WAS ASSUMED TO BE AIR THAT FILLED THE VEHICLE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, WHO HAD NO REMEDY FOR THE PROBLEM. DEALER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY DID NOT HAVE A REMEDY EITHER. DEALER DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM. ALSO, TESTED OTHER PONTIAC 2005 G6 THAT HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM, AS WELL AS THE 2006 MODEL. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE, BUT CONSUMER FELT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. *AK
POWER ASSISTED STEERING LOCKS UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN COLD WEATHER AND MAINLY IN LOW SPEED SITUATIONS IMMEDIATELY AFTER STARTING MY VEHICLE. THE FAILURE PREVENTS YOU FROM TURNING THE WHEEL AT ALL AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE FOR A LIMITED AMOUNT OF TIME. *NM
I PURCHASED MY 2005 PONTIAC G6 JAN. 10, 2005. THIS CAR IS HAVING ISSUES STARTING FIRST THING. IT WILL EITHER OVER START LIKE I HELD THE IGNITION TOO LONG OR IT WILL KEEP TRYING TO START ONCE IT HAS BEEN STARTED. IN BOTH CASES, THE ENGINE WILL DIE. I HAVE BEEN NOTIFYING THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE THE CAR WAS LESS THAN A MONTH OLD. EACH TIME, IT WAS BROUGHT INTO THE DEALERSHIP, RAN ON THE COMPUTER, AND EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AND THE TECHNICIANS COULDN'T RE-CREATE THE ISSUE. I CALLED GMAC ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY HAD THEIR OWN TECHNICIAN COME OUT. THEIR TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT A CERTAIN VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND ONCE IT WAS FIXED, IT WOULD SOLVE ALL ISSUES. PART WAS INSTALLED AND TO THIS DAY, THE CAR STILL IS OVERSTARTING. I STATED 700 FAILURES BECAUSE THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I START THE CAR IN THE MORNING. *NM
OPEN REAR WINDOW OR WINDOWS AT SPEED OF 40 MPH AND ABOVE CREATES A SAFETY PROBLEM AS THE NOISE FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR BECOMES SO INTENSE THAT YOU EITHER HAVE TO CLOSE THE WINDOW OR STOP THE CAR. THE NOISE SOUNDS LIKE A ROTAR ON A HELICOPTER AND THE FASTER YOU GO OVER 40 THE LOUDER IT BECOMES AND YOUR HEARING BECOMES SO BAD YOU MUST STOP OR PUT WINDOW BACK UP. IR REPORTED THIS TO GM AND THEY TOLD ME ITS THE NATURE OF THE BEAST TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE ANSWER. *AK

ALIGNMENT - PULLS TO LEFT - SWAPPED FRONT TIRES - 8/02/09 8. ALIGNMENT AND NEW REAR BRAKES - 8/29/09 9. ALIGNMENT - PULLS TO LEFT - IN SHOP 9/15/09 THE LIST OF PARTS & LABOR HAVE BEEN EXTENSIVE AND I AM ON MY 3RD SET OF TIRES AND CURRENTLY ONLY HAVE 48K ON MY CAR. THE TIRES ONLY LASTED FOR 20K MILES!!! I'VE HAD A TOTAL OF 6 ALIGNMENTS AND COUNTLESS ROTATIONS AND NOTHING WORKS. I HAVE ALSO BEEN THROUGH 2 SETS OF BRAKES AND ROTORS IN THIS TIME PERIOD AS WELL. WHEN I BLOGGED ABOUT THIS ISSUE THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER FOLKS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. I CONTACTED THE BBB AUTO LINE AND THEY SAID MY COMPLAINT IS NOT WITHIN THEIR JURISDICTION. I CONTACTED PONTIAC / GMC AND THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT HELP ME. THE CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND HOPEFULLY IT WON'T TAKE AN ACCIDENT FOR SOMEONE TO REALIZE THAT THE CAR IS A LEMON AND UNSAFE. *TR
