PONTIAC G6 2006 LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 PONTIAC G6, WITH 66,638 MILES ON IT. I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES AND THE CRUISE CONTROL. THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON AND WHEN I PUSH ON THE BRAKE PEDAL THEY GO OUT, WHEN I AM IN PARK I HAVE TO PUSH THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR IN ORDER TO PUT IT INTO GEAR. I HAVE NOTICED AT TIMES THEY FLICKER. I CAN NOT SET MY CRUISE CONTROL EITHER. I HAVE MADE PHONE CALLS TO THE DEALER AND TO PONTIAC ABOUT THE GM RECALL # 80317. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS RECALL ONLY MATCHES VIN #'S 64100001 TO 64100093 AND THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE ON THE CAR. I QUESTIONED WHY I CAN HAVE THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL AS THE RECALL BUT MY VIN # DOES NOT MATCH? THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE PART NUMBERS AND THE MANUFACTURE MAY BE DIFFERENT!!! I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO MYSELF AND MY FAMILY AND GM IS NOT WANTING TO HELP ME FIX THE PROBLEM, ALL THEY ARE LOOKING FOR IS TAKING MY MONEY FOR WHAT SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT IN THE CAR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY PULLED TO THE LEFT AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED EVERYDAY WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL. HE CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE UNAWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE POWER STEERING ON THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO FAIL INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE ACCELERATE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED EXCESSIVELY THAT THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED HE LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL. IT DOES NOT OCCUR WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61000.
CLUNKING SOUND COMING FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHEN TURNING. *TR
MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS ON HER WAY HOME AFTER A SCHOOL FUNCTION. THE 2006 PONTICA G6 POWER STEERING LOCKED UP COMPLETELY. SHE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. A MALE FRIEND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR THE LAST 5 MILES HOME WITH OUT POWER STEERING. *TR
I PURCHASED A USED 2006 PONTIAC G6 ON APRIL THE 3RD, CAR RAN GREAT NO SIGNS OF ANY PROBLEMS, TOOK IT TO IOWA ON APRIL 29TH AND MADE GOOD TRIP UP THERE. THE MORNING OF APRIL 30TH WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT THE POSTED 55MPH SPEED LIMIT, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN JERKING TO THE LEFT, GETTING WORSE BY THE SECOND, IT THEN LOCKS UP AND IS ALMOST IMMOVABLE. GOT CAR TO SAFE PLACE AND LOOKED AT OWNERS MANUAL TO CHECK PUMP FOR FLUIDS, WAS NOT IN AREA AS INDICATED IN MANUAL, AS A MATTER OF FACT THERE IS NO PUMP AT ALL, IT IS ELECTRIC, WHICH THE MANUAL SAYS NOTHING ABOUT. CALLED GM, THEY SET UP A TOW TO NEAREST PONTIAC DEALER. ON THE 3RD OF MAY CAR WAS TOWED TO PONTIAC DEALER. DEALER LATER CALLED AND SAID IT WAS A FAULTY GM PART. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE IT IS APPARENT THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE G6, AS WELL AS THE G5 THEY HAVE RECALLED AS OF MARCH 2010. GM NEEDS TO RECALL THIS, BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. I AM LUCKY I WAS NOT IN A HEAVILY POPULATED AREA AND NOT HURT OR HURT SOMEONE ELSE. GM DIDN'T WANT TO ADMIT THIS IS A PROBLEM BUT EVEN THE DEALER SAID THEY KNOW THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. *TR
2006 PONTIAC G6 V6 STALLING WHILE IN DRIVE AND PARK. THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING UP TO THIS AND HAS OCCURRED SIX TIMES. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS OR IN PARK, THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY TURN OFF AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE. THE BRAKE AND STEERING WILL ALSO LOCK UP. UPON TURNING THE CAR OFF AND PLACING IT IN PARK IT WILL RESTART, I HAVE PLACED THE CAR IN THE SHOP TWO TIMES TO HAVE THIS FIXED. LAST TIME (MAY 18) WAS TO TAPE ENGINE WIRES AND CLEAN THE FUEL INJECTOR, WHICH THEY SAID WOULD FIX IT. THIS REPAIR COST ME $500. SINCE THEN THE PROBLEM HAS INCREASED, HAPPENING THREE TIMES IN THE PAST THREE DAYS. I HAVE CONTACTED PONTIAC NUMEROUS TIMES BUT THEY ARE UNWILLING TO HELP. BOTH MY GM DEALER AND I HAVE USED A CODE READER TO SEE IF THE CAR IS THROWING OUT A CODE WHEN IT STALLS BUT NOTHING CAN BE FOUND. MY CAR HAS QUICKLY BECOME A LIABILITY TO MYSELF AND THOSE AROUND ME, AS THE LAST TIME I STALLED I ALMOST DRIFTED INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, WHICH IS APPARENTLY QUITE WIDESPREAD IN 2006 G6S. *TR

2006 G6 STEERING CLUNKING WHEN I TURN. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 30 MPH, THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT FLASHED ON THE WARNING CONSOLE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY A LOSS OF POWER STEERING ABILITIES. THE CONSUMERS HUSBAND WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DROVE OVER A CURB. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AWAITING A DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED SHE OBSERVED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET PERTAINING TO THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING IN HER SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE FAILURE TO BE A SAFETY-RELATED DEFECT THAT EXISTED IN HER VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. WHENEVER I GO TO MAKE A LEFT TURN THE ELECTRIC STEERING GOES OUT ALL THE TIME AND THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES NOTHING YET SINCE I HAVE SEEN RECALL STUFF ABOUT IT. *TR
I OWN A 2006 PONTIAC G6 AND HAVE HAD THE STEERING LOCK UP ON ME A FEW TIMES. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A GM DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING GEAR WAS BAD. CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT THAT TIME SO I PAID THE DEDUCTIBLE AND HAD THEM REPLACE THE STEERING GEAR. ABOUT THREE MONTHS LATER THE STEERING IS MAKING THE SAME POPPING NOISE AND CONTINUES TO GET WORSE. THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND I AM UNABLE TO AFFORD THE $1400 DOLLAR ESTIMATE TO REPLACE A SECOND TIME. THE STEERING HAS NOT LOCKED UP AGAIN JUST YET, BUT EVERY DAY I DRIVE I ANTICIPATE IT TO HAPPEN SOON. *TR
LOSS OF CONTROL DUE TO POWER STEERING FAILURE DEALER REPROGRAMMED COMPUTER FOR TEMPORARY REMEDY. *TR
THE POWER STEERING WARNING HAS APPEARED ON MY 2006 PONTIAC G6, SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST 2 MONTHS, BUT AT FIRST I EXPERIENCED NO PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER STEERING ITSELF. WE TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT, AND THEY ASSURED US THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE POWER STEERING, IT WAS PROBABLY JUST AN ELECTRICAL SENSOR ISSUE. THE WARNING CONTINUED TO COME ON AT RANDOM TIMES, AND WOULD GO AWAY WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT. ON 4/15/10, AS I WAS SITTING AT A STOP SIGN WITH MY 2 SMALL CHILDREN IN THE BACKSEAT, THE POWER STEERING WARNING CAME ON AND THEN WHEN I WENT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT I HAD NO POWER STEERING. I WAS THEN STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, AND LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT BEFORE I WAS STRUCK BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, AND THEN RESTARTED IT, AND THE POWER STEERING WAS FINE. I DROVE THE CAR HOME, AND WE HAVE NOT DROVE IT SINCE, FOR FEAR OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS. AFTER TALKING TO MY DEALERSHIP, THEY STATED THAT WE WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO PUT IN A NEW STEERING COLUMN, WHICH WOULD COST AROUND $800. I WAS EXTREMELY SURPRISED AFTER RESEARCHING ON THE INTERNET TO FIND THAT MANY OTHER 2006 PONTIAC G6 OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM, AND THAT MANY HAVE REPLACED THE STEERING COLUMN AND STILL CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS. I WANTED TO BRING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION BECAUSE I FEEL THAT THE PONTIAC G6 SHOULD BE RECALLED TO CORRECT THE POWER STEERING ISSUES. *TR
SINCE THE CAR WAS ALMOST NEW (6,000 MILES) THE BRAKES PULSATE AND NEED CONSTANT REPAIR - EVENTUALLY THE PULSATION LEADS TO WHAT I WOULD DETERMINE AN UNCOMFORTABLE/UNCONTROLLABLE BREAKING PROBLEM. DEALER HAS INDICATED THE TYPE OF BRAKES ON THIS CAR HAVE A PROBLEM WITH CORROSION. THEY ARE ABLE TO REPAIR AND CAR SEEMS OK FOR A FEW MONTHS THEN PROBLEM RECURS. LAST TIME THE DEALER CHARGED APPROXIMATELY $400 FOR REPAIR (MAY 2010). THE CAR IS NOW STARTING TO AGAIN DISPLAY SOME OF THE SAME SYMPTOMS, STARTING TO PULSATE, BRAKES MAKING DRAGGING SOUND. THE CAR HAS 43,000 MILES AS OF THIS DATE AND BEEN TAKEN TO DEALER AT LEAST 2 TIMES PER YEAR FOR BRAKE PROBLEMS SINCE ORIGINAL PURCHASE IN AUGUST 2006. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2006 PONTIAC G6 THAT WE BROUGHT FROM A GM LOT AND WAS GM CERTIFIED. THE CAR'S POWER STEERING SUDDENLY LOCKED UP AND SHE COULD NOT TURN THE WHEEL. LUCKILY SHE WAS NEAR OUR HOME AND MADE IT BACK OK. WHEN I WENT OUT TO CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM I COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING FOR THE POWER STEERING (APPARENTLY IT IS ELECTRICAL). AFTER VISITING VARIOUS WEBSITES I FOUND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VERY SAME ISSUE AND THAT GM IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. PEOPLE ARE TAKING THERE CARS BACK TO THE DEALERS AND ARE BEING TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT AND THEY END UP PAYING A BUNDLE TO GET IT FIXED, ONLY TO HAVE IT HAPPEN AGAIN. I FIND THIS COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE AND UNBELIEVABLE ON THE PART OF GM CONCERNING THIS VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS MATTER. THERE SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A RECALL ON THIS CAR. I AM NOT GOING TO PAY FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S MISTAKE. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 PONTIAC G6, THE BRAKE LAMPS STAY ON WHEN THE BRAKE IS NOT DEPRESSED AND TURN OFF WHEN THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED. I WENT TO 2 DEALERS AND HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE. THEY TELL ME THAT THIS IS NOT A MFG DEFECT. MAYBE NOT BUT IT IS SURELY A HAZARD. THIS EFFECTS MY CRUISE CONTROL AND PREVENTS IT FROM WORKING BECAUSE THE BRAKE SWITCH STICKS AS IF THE BRAKE IS BEING USED. I HAD THE BRAKE SWITCH REPLACED ONCE BEFORE BUT IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. IS THERE NOT SOME RECOURSE FOR THE REPAIR. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 7 TIMES OVER THE LAST 6 MONTHS. *TR
EVENT LEADING UP TO FAILURE - NORMAL NEIGHBORHOOD DRIVING AS WELL AS FREEWAY DRIVING. THE FAILURE - POWER STEERING LOCKS UP HOW OFTEN - INTERMITTENT, AT LEAST 4 - 6 TIMES PER WEEK THE CONSEQUENCES - POTENTIALLY CATASTROPHIC! TWO YOUNG CHILDREN IN CAR, VEHICLE IS VIRTUALLY UNDRIVEABLE. LUCKILY, FATHER WAS/IS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND IS ABLE TO RETURN VEHICLE TO A SAFE LOCATION BEFORE NOONE WAS HURT. SERVICE DEPARTMENT UNABLE TO FIND PROBLEM. SAFETY OF ENTIRE FAMILY IS AT RISK. SINGLE INCOME FAMILY, SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS/CONTINUING TO BE OBLIGATED TO PAYING FOR CAR WHEN SO MANY COMPLAINTS ARE LODGED OVER THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM, CIRCUMSTANCES AND FAILURE ARE IDENTICAL, ETC. I BOUGHT MY CAR IN 2007; IT IS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. HEARD A CLICKING NOISE WHEN TURNING THE CAR; THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT PASSED ALL POINT INSPECTION; WITHIN THE LAST 3 YEARS I HAVE HAD THE STEERING RANDOMLY "LOCKED" UP OR JUST DIDN'T WORK AT ALL. FINALLY WENT TO AMMACO TO GET A FULL DIAGNOSTIC AND WAS TOLD THAT MY RACK AND PINION STEERING IS COMPLETELY OUT WHICH CAUSED DEFICIENT WHEEL ALIGNMENTS, WHICH CAUSED THE FRONT CONTROL ARMS TO PREMATURELY WEAR OUT, WHICH CAUSED MY TIRES TO WEAR UNEVENLY. ALSO MY FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE IMPACTED AS WELL. THE MECHANICS WERE SURPRISED THAT I OR MY FAMILY WASN'T DEAD SINCE TECHNICALLY I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE CAR BY WAY OF STEERING. I AM OUT CLOSE TO $2000.00 BECAUSE THIS WAS FOUND OUT AFTER THE WARRANTY LAPSE (OF COURSE). THANKS GM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT WAS BRAKING FROM APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN HE DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT ILLUMINATING. ON OCCASION, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED WITHOUT THE BRAKES BEING DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO LOCATE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V036000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING: BRAKE LIGHTS) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALER THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

THE STEERING WHEEL TURNS 90 DEGREES TO THE LEFT WHEN CREEPING IN TRAFFIC AND THERE IS SIGNIFICANT CLUNK NOISE IN THE STEERING AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN TURNING. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE DEALER ALL WITH NO RESULT OR FIX. *TR
FAULTY STEERING. WHEN YOUR DRIVING IT LOCKS UP AND YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. SPEED VARIOUS BETWEEN TIME TO TIME WHEN IT HAPPENS. HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS.IF YOU REMOVE KEY AND RESTART IT GOES AWAY THEN DEALER SAYS THEY CANT FIND PROBLEM.BUT THAT DOESNT HELP ME WHEN MY STEERING LOCKED UP AND I WAS GOING HEAD ON A GROUP OF KIDS.DANGEROUS STEERING!! FAR WORST THAN THE TOYOTAS THEY RECALLED.I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY HAVENT RECALLED THESE 2006 PONTIAC G6'S THEY ARE DANGEROUS.I WANT IT FIXED! NOW WHEN I CLICK LOCK/UNLOCK ONE OF MY DOORS WONT WORK.SOMETHING ELECTRICAL.
AT LEAST A FEW TIMES A WEEK, WHEN MY CAR IS STARTED I EXPERIENCE A POWER STEERING FAILURE. I HAVE TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND TRY IT AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN MY WHEEL TO THE RIGHT, BUT WHEN TURNING LEFT IT IS COMPLETELY EFFORTLESS. I HAVE HAD MECHANICS LOOK AT IT AND I HAVE HAD THE RACK AND PINION CHANGED TWICE, THINKING IT COULDN'T POSSIBLY BE THE POWER STEERING PUMP BECAUSE IT'S ONLY DIFFICULT TO STEER IN ONE DIRECTION. *TR
IN THE PAST YEAR I HAVE HAD TO GET MY BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS REPLACED ON MY 2006 PONTIAC G6 GTP. AFTER THE FIRST TIME GETTING THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS REPLACED, I HAVE BEEN IN THE SHOP EVERY MONTH. MOST RECENTLY, I HAD THE FRONT AND REAR ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME. EXACTLY ONE MONTH AFTER THE REPLACEMENT, MY BRAKES ARE SQUEAKING WHEN I GO TO BRAKE. *TR
LOUD POPPING NOISE WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT. DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND THE RADIO SCREEN WENT COMPLETELY BLANK AND THE RADIO WOULDN'T COME ON. CUT CAR OFF AND TURNED BACK ON AND RADIO CAME BACK ON. REPAIRED CONTROL ARMS, BALL JOINTS, AND STRUTS. POPPING NOISE CONTINUES. THINK ITS IN THE ELECTRIC STEERING COLUMN. *TR
THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON MY CAR ONLY WORK PROPERLY ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT ENGAGED AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL STAY ON AT TIMES WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NO LONGER ENGAGED. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL ALSO JUST DISENGAGE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR FAIL TO SET A SPEED WHEN TRYING TO SET. THERE IS A CURRENT RECALL ON THIS EXACT PROBLEM WITH CARS LIKE MINE. HOWEVER, GM CLAIMS THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL AS THE DEFECTIVE PART/ISSUE IS NOT ON MY VEHICLE ACCORDING TO THE VIN NUMBER ISSUED. *TR
POWER STEERING FAILURE IN 2006 PONTIAC G6
I BOUGHT A 2006 G6, 23,000M, IN MAY 2006. WITHIN THREE MONTHS I WAS HEARING A CLICKING WHEN I TURNED THE RIGHT WHEEL. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER (STILL UNDER WARRENTY) AND THEY "FIXED" THE PROBLEM. AS SOON AS THE WARRENTY WAS OUT, THE SAME NOISE WAS BACK IN BOTH WHEELS. RECENTLY THE STEERING HAS BECOME STIFF WHEN BACKING OUT AND TURNING CORNERS. THIS MORNING ON THE WAY TO WORK IN THE POURING RAIN, I THOUGHT I WAS HYDROPLAINING WHEN I REALIZED IT WAS THE STEERING LOCKING! ELECTRIC STEERING ASSIST KICKS IN AND OUT. STEERING WHEEL TURNED HARD TO THE LEFT ON ITS OWN WHILE I WAS GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 65MPH. IT TOOK BOTH HANDS TO TAKE BACK CONTROL. POWER STEERING LIGHT BLINKED ON THE RADIO. WHEN I STOPPED THE WHEEL WAS MAKING CLICKING SOUNDS AND TURNING VIOLENTLY TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR THE STEERING TEMPORARILY WENT BACK TO NORMAL. I HAVE BEEN HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING FOR THE PAST YEAR. TOOK TO THE DEALAR SHOWING THEM BULLETIN # 10183 DESCRIBING THE EXACT PROBLEM FOR 2005 AND 2006 G6'S BUT THEY DID NOTHING STATING MY VIN # WAS NOT IN THE AFFECTED RANGE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND WILL KILL SOMEONE.

I TOOK THE CAR INTO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP (SINCE PONTIAC IS NO MORE) WHERE UPON INSPECTION THEY STATED THAT MY INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT WAS FAULTY BUT 'FIXABLE". THE PART WAS TAKEN OUT, CLEANED, LUBED UP, AND PLACED BACK INTO THE CAR ACCORDING TO THE TECHNICIAN. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN AS I WAS LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP. PARTLY DUE TO BEING IN A RUSH, I DIDN'T QUESTION THIS BUT BROUGHT IT UP TO MY BOYFRIEND WHO THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP FOR CLARIFICATION.
