RANDOMLY MY CARS POWER STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN I START MY CAR. AT TIMES I HAVE TO SHUT IT OFF NUMEROUS TIMES TO GET IT TO UNLOCK. TODAY IT TOOK ME 5 TIMES STARTING AND SHUTTING IT OF AND RESTARTING BEFORE THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD TURN. IT HAS DONE THIS MANY TIMES AND TODAY WAS JUST THE LATEST.
THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED IN 2014 ABOUT FAULTY ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEMS FOR THE 2008 PONTIAC G6. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD IT REPAIRED. I AM NOW AGAIN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE POWER STEERING GOING OUT AGAIN WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I CALLED DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT CAN NOT BE REPAIRED AGAIN. I ALSO CALLED GENERAL MOTORS AND THEY SAID I HAD IT REPAIRED ONCE SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME. I AM NOW STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT IS UNSAFE AND I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO REPAIR. GM SHOULD HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THIS PROBLEM UNTIL IT IS FIXED CORRECTLY. THERE ARE MANY BLOGS AND FORUMS WITH PEOPLE IN THE SAME POSITION AS I AM AND NO ONE INCLUDING NHTSA IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
THE POWER STEERING ALL OF A SUDDEN WENT OUT ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE'S A STRUGGLE FOR ME WITH EVERY TURN, AND NOW THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES BAD WHEN COMING TO A STOP. VERY SCARY GETTING FAMILY AROUND ON DAY TO DAY BASIS.
MULTIPLE TIMES THE HEADLIGHTS GO OUT AND HARNESS CONNECTION SECTION BURNS OUT NEEDING REPLACEMENT OF BOTH HARNESSES AND BULBS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6 EQUIPPED WITH ACHILLES ALL-SEASON TIRES, SIZE: P225/50R17 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WAS FAULTY AND THE TIRE TRACTION WAS WORN OUT. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE HAD A BLOW OUT AND THE STEERING WHEEL MADE AN ABNORMAL HUMMING NOISE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE TREAD WAS WORN OUT ON THREE OF THE TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED ALL THE TIRES AND ALIGNED THE WHEELS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL). THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 162,634. THE DOT NUMBER AND VIN WERE NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,562.
THE POWER STEERING WARNING STARTED COMING ACROSS MY RADIO WITH AN ALARM AND THE POWER STEERING WOULD SHUT OFF. YOU COULD TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT AND IT WOULD WORK AGAIN. IT STARTED DOING IT MORE AND MORE UNTIL IT WOULDN'T WORK AT ALL. I LOOKED UP RECALLS AND MINE HAD ONE SONI TOOK IT TO PONTIAC DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE EPS MODULE.BBUT THAT'S ALL MY CONTACTS NUMBER CALL FOR BUT THEY ARE MANY OTHER MODELS LIKE MINE THAT THE ECALK CALLED FOR EACH PART OF THE ENTIRE POWER STEERING SYSTEM TO BE REPLACED ONE AT A TIME UNTIL THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED BUT MY VIN WAS NOT ON WHAT LIST IT WAS ONLY LISTER UNDER RE PLACE THE MODULE SO THEREFORE IM STILL HAVING POWER STEERING PROBLEM BC THE MODULE DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. ALSO MY ROTORS KEEP GETTING WARPED AND I KEEP HAVING TO REPLACE THEM WAY BEFORE IT SHOULD BE TIME TO

MY WIFE CAR POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING AND IS DISPLAYING ON THE RADIO "POWER STEERING". THIS ERROR MESSAGE DISPLAYED WHEN SHE WAS TRYING TO LEAVE FOR WORK A FEW DAYS AGO AND THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN SINCE DUE TO IS BEING EXTREMELY UNSAFE.
LAST TUESDAY, JANUARY 29TH WHILE DRIVING DOWN A MAJOR ROAD HERE IN MEMPHIS, I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN ON TO ANOTHER BUSY STREET AND MY STEERING WHEEL INSTANTLY WENT STIFF THEN POWER STEERING CAME ACROSS MY DISPLAY SCREEN ALONG WITH THE CHIME. I HAD TO GET MY CAR OUT OF THE INTERSECTION SO I TRIED COMPLETE THE TURN. I GOT MY CAR TO TURN BUT WITH A LOT OF FORCE. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED MY CAR OFF FOR ABOUT 5 MINS. I CONTEMPLATED WHETHER I WAS GOING TO HAVE IT TOWED OR TRY TO MAKE IT HOME. I CALLED GM ABOUT THIS BECAUSE I HAD MY POWER STEERING SERVICED IN 2014 UNDER A RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING SHAFT TORQUE SENSOR, IT WAS REPLACED. GM CONNECTED ME WITH A CERTIFIED GM DEALER NEAR ME (CHUCK HUTTON CHEVROLET) TO HAVE IT CHECKED. CHUCK HUTTON CHEVROLET ON MT. MORIAH RD. DID A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED A NEW POWER STEERING SHAFT TORQUE AND THAT MY REPAIR WILL BE NEARLY $700. UNFORTUNATELY, THE RECALL EXPIRED IN FEBRUARY 2018. IF THIS HAD OF HAPPENED AGAIN BEFORE THE RECALL EXPIRED, THEN MY REPLACEMENT WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED. IT'S SO PUZZLING TO ME THAT MY CAR HAD ABOUT 67K MILES IN 2014 WHEN I HAD THIS PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME. I AM AT 125K MILES NOW AND THE PART HAS GONE OUT AGAIN.
FUEL LEAKING FROM GAS TANK AREA AND SHOWING P0446 CODE. THERE IS AN EXISTING RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR THIS MODEL IN MY MODEL YEAR RANGE BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED WITHIN THE RECALL. I FEEL MY ISSUE SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE RECALL.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWO OTHER TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Pontiac G6. The contact stated that after the vehicle was serviced for the recall of NHTSA Campaign Number:14V224000: (Power Train), the transmission shift cable failed causing the vehicle to roll back and hit the contact. During the incident, the contact sustained a severe abdominal injury and a fractured left knee. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who replaced the shift cable for a second time. The contact indicated that the shift cable recently had failed again. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.
POWER STEERING ISSUESI'VE RECENTLY BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY POWER STEERING IT'S COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING AND I'M NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY THERE'S BEEN MULTIPLE RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE. I CAN'T TURN COMPLETELY WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE
2008 PONTIAC G6. CONSUMER WRITES SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR POWER STEERING REPAIRS. *LD *TR
ON DECEMBER 27TH, 2018 I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 68MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I PROCEEDED TO CHANGE TO THE LEFT LANE, WHEN I LOST POWER STEERING. MY CAR IS THE 4 CYLINDER, WHICH MEANS IT HAS THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. "POWER STEERING" SHOWED ON MY DISPLAY ALONG WITH A CHIME. I MANAGED TO GET THE CAR OFF OF THE ROAD AND TURNED IT OFF. AFTER 10 SECONDS, I STARTED IT BACK UP, AND REGAINED THE POWER STEERING. I CONTINUED ON FOR ABOUT 15 MILES TO WORK WITH NO ISSUES. AFTER WORK, I DROVE AROUND 25 MILES TO TOWN, AND THEN DROVE AROUND RUNNING ERRANDS WITH NO ISSUE. THE NEXT DAY ON MY DRIVE TO WORK I EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE, AT THE SAME SPEED, ABOUT 4 DIFFERENT TIMES. TURNING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING IT FIXES THE PROBLEM FOR A FEW MILES. THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL FOR MY CAR'S YEAR, BUT SEARCHING WITH THE VIN NUMBER, IT DOESN'T SHOW THE RECALL APPLIES. IN AUGUST OF 2015 GM ISSUED A BULLETIN 15356 DETAILING THIS PROBLEM ALONG WITH A SPECIAL COVERAGE FOR THE PARTS TO BE REPLACED, HOWEVER, IF THE CAR HAS BEEN IN SERVICE FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS, OR 150K MILES, THE SPECIAL COVERAGE DOES NOT APPLY. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, AND I FEEL RECALL SHOULD APPLY TO MY CAR. I ALSO FEEL THE SPECIAL COVERAGE SHOULD NOT BE LIMITED. IF THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT AND AN ACCIDENT OCCURS BECAUSE OF IT, WHAT DOES IT MATTER WHETHER HOW OLD THE CAR IS, IT'S A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE FIXED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000.

THE ESC TRACTION CONTROL ILLUMINATE WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED ON AND REMAINS ILLUMINATEDWHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION. THE TRACTION CONTROL ILLUMINATE ON AND OFF DURING OPERATION OF VEHICLE. IT MAY REMAIN OFF FOR A WHILE AND WHEN THE CAR IGNITION IS TURNED ON AND WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE IT MAY REMAIN ILLUMINATED.
TAKARA RECALL I WAS ON MY WAY TO A STORE DRIVING AND MY CAR STARTED SHAKING AND SO I GOT OF THE INTERSTATE AND IT STARTING ACTING LIKE IT WAS LOSING POWER SO I PULLED OVER SHUT IT OF FOR A HR AND TURNED IT BACK ON TRIED TO GO IN REVERSE NOTHING HAPPENED TRIED TO GO IN DRIVE NOTHING HAPPENED IT DIDNT YO ANYWHERE SO I PUT 2 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID IN IT THEN IT WOULD GO IN DRIVE BUT NO REVERSE. I BROUGHT IT TO A GARAGE AND A TON OF CODES CAME UP THEY CLEARED IT AND TOLD ME NOT TO WORRIE ABOUT IT BUT IT SMELT WEIRD AND I NEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG.I BELIEVE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION CABLES AND A THROTTLE SENSOR BECAUSE IT WAS ACTING LIKE IT WANTED TO GO FAST N THE THROTTLE WOULD ACCELERATE WHEN I DIDNT PUSH MORE ON THE PADDLE KINDA LIKE IT WAS STUCK IN CRUISE CONTROL BUT EVEN WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKES IT STILL REV.
THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILED WITH LESS THAN 100,00 MILES ON THE CAR LOSS OF POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF A 3 LANE HIGHWAY. ALMOST CAUSING US TO BE HIT FROM BEHIND. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT GM NEVER NOTIFIED US AND NOW WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR

THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER DRIVING A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT A FAILURE CODE COULD NOT BE LOCATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
WHEN I TURN MY CAR ON, SOMETIMES THE STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED AND IT SAYS 'POWER STEERING' ON THE RADIO. ALSO, THE STEERING WHEEL KEEPS RATTLING SINCE THE MOMENT I TURN IT ON AND WHEN DRIVING IT KEEPS RATTLING AND MOVING MY CAR LEFT AND RIGHT. THE TIRED CAN NOT BE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE I KEEP THAT ON POINT AND I ALSO CHANGE THE OIL EVERYTIME IT IS NEEDED. THIS PROBLEM STARTED A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, BUT HAS BEEN WORSENING.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS PROVIDED A REPAIR ESTIMATE. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NO LONGER FUNCTIONED, WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE INOPERATIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
PONTIAC RECALL #N140115...SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. OVER THE COURSE OF A WEEK WITHOUT ANY PRIOR NOTICE, THE STEERING BECAME MORE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL, WHEELS LOCKING, STEERING AND TURNING NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE UNLESS GOING STRAIGHT FORWARD OR BACKWARD. I STOPPED DRIVING THE CARE IN FEAR OF GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. DEALER WOULD NOT HONOR THE RECALL, CLAIMING I NEED TO PAY $140 FOR A DIAGNOSIS.
CAR SITTING IN PARK AND POWER STEERING SUDDENLY GOES. ALSO HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
TAKATA RECALL I JUST FINISHED PUMPING MY GAS INTO MY CAR. I TURNED MY CAR ON AND PUT IT ON DRIVE. AS I WAS TURNING TOWARDS THE EXIT OF THE GAS STATION, MY STEERING WHEEL MADE SOME CLINK NOISES AND WENT OUT. MY WHEELS WERE NO LONGER ARE ABLE TO BE DIRECTED BY MY STEERING WHEEL. I AM NO LONGER ABLE TO STEER MY CAR. THE ONLY ABILITY I HAVE IS TO DRIVE FORWARD OR BACKWARDS. I CAN NO LONGER CONTROL MY TIRES.
DIRECTION DEFECTS CAUSED BY THE PINION RACK, WHEN THE CAR SPEED EXCEEDS 50 MILES, THE THE HELM AND DIRECTION BEGINS TO SHAKE AND NOISE OCCURS
BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WITHOUT BRAKING. BRAKE LIGHTS CONTINUE TO STAY ON UNTIL HIT THE BRAKE THEN COME BACK ON WHEN LET OFF BRAKES
POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE CAN BE STATIONARY OR MOVING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL IN 2014 AND THE POWER CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 68,000.
THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IN MY CAR NEEDS REPLACEMENT. I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER AND HAVE MAINTAINED IT PROPERLY. THE CAR HAS A LITTLE UNDER 67,000 MILES AND OCCASIONALLY LOSES POWER. IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS THIS HAPPENS SPORADICALLY. I CAN NOT WITH 100 PERCENT CERTAINTY MERGE INTO TRAFFIC KNOWING THAT IT WILL ACCELERATE FAST ENOUGH. I HAD A DIAGNOSTIC RUN ON THE CAR AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS THE ISSUE AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP IN EL PASO, TX AND THEY CLAIM THAT SOME PONTIAC G6 MODELS (BASED ON VIN) HAVE BEEN RECALLED, BUT THAT MINE IS NOT ONE OF THEM. I HAVE LOOKED UP RELATED CASES AND DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY CAR'S VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. I LOVE MY CAR AND IT HAS SERVED ME WELL, UNTIL NOW. I HOPE THAT SOMEONE, ANYONE WITH SOME AUTHORITY IS READING THIS. I HOPE THAT THAT PERSON DOES SOME INVESTIGATING AND REALIZES THAT THIS ISSUE IS NOT ISOLATED AND SHOULD BE AN OPEN RECALL. IT IS MOST DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. I DO NOT FEEL THAT IT IS SAFE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE, BUT AM FORCED TO AS I CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE IT FIXED. THE ACCELERATION ISSUE HAS HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY AND ON CITY STREETS. I HAVE STOPPED USING THE FREEWAY FOR SAFETY REASONS. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE.

AFTER FINDING MOVEMENT IN ENTERING THE VEHICLE LAST NIGHT AND DURING MY NORMAL COMMUTE HOME I HAD DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT FRAME HAS FRACTURED AND SEPARATED AT THE FRONT INTERIOR WELD OF THE CROSS MEMBER. THIS HAS RESULTED IN A PARTIALLY DETACHED DRIVER SEAT THAT SHIFTS UNDER WEIGHT AND LOAD MOVEMENT. THIS SEPARATION ALSO LEADS TO SIGNIFICANT QUESTION OF THE CREDIBILITY AND DEPENDABILITY OF THE VEHICLE, SEAT AND SAFETY RESTRAINT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, SPECIFICALLY ANYTHING BEYOND SLOW SPEEDS. IT'S DOUBTFUL WHETHER THE SEAT WILL REMAIN ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM MY OWN FAMILY MEMBER WHO BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW FROM THE DEALER AND I KNOW THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT OR COLLISION. IF THIS WELD FAILS UNDER NORMAL USE OF THE VEHICLE, HOW CAN A VEHICLE LIKE THIS EVER EXPECT TO PERFORM SAFELY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT? FROM MY RESEARCH IT APPEARS THIS IS NOW BECOMING A WELL KNOWN CONCERN AND SAFETY ISSUE FOR THE PONTIAC G6, AND THUS IT'S A SURPRISE TO ME THAT THERE IS NOT AN UPDATE OR POTENTIAL RECALL TO STRENGTHEN THIS INTEGRAL SAFETY COMPONENT OF THE VEHICLE. WHAT CAN BE MORE NECESSARY THAN THE SEAT OF THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE? IF THE DRIVER IS NOT SECURE, THAN THE VEHICLE IS NOT SECURE.
THE DRIVERSIDE HEADLIGHT LOW BEAM CONNECTOR CONTINUOUSLY MELTS AND THE LIGHT GOES OUT. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM PER MOST ONLINE FORUMS IF YOU LOOK IT UP. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN EVEN AFTER REPAIR THE PROBLEM PERSIST AND NEW WIRING HARNESS MELTS THE SAME WAY. THEIR HAS TO BE A REASON THAT SO MANY OF THESE ARE MELTING THE CONNECTORS. THERE IS NOT REASON THAT IT SHOULD HAPPEN AGAIN WITHIN A MONTH OR REPAIR.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS FOR YEARS. I BUY LIGHTS EVERY 3 WEEKS, THIS IS VERY EXPENSIVE. WAS STOPPED BY COPS & GIVEN A WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,462.
POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. DIFFICULT TO TURN EITHER DIRECTION
THERE IS A CRACK IN THE FUEL LINE ABOVE THE FUEL PUMP ON TOP OF THE GAS TANK. THERE IS A DISTINCT GAS SMELL FROM THE CAR AND OBD CODE P0446. THIS IS A HAZARD TO MY HEALTH. THERE IS AN OBVIOUS FUEL LEAK. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HEARD OF THIS ON A GM CAR.
ADVISED CMP ACTUATOR SOLENOID IS BAD, TOLD THIS CAN CAUSE THE VEHICHLE TO SHUT DOWN. THIS SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS WOULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD ESPECIALLY IF ONE IS DRIVING AT A HIGH SPEED SUCH AS THE EXPRESSWAY.
STARTED SMELLING GAS FUMES WHEN I STOPPED THE CAR, NOW I SMELL IT WHETHER I AM DRIVING OR STOPPED. TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND THEY DETERMINED THAT IT WAS LEAKING FROM THE TOP OF FUEL TANK. THEY SAID IT WAS EITHER THE PLASTIC FUEL LINE CRACKED ON THE FUEL PUMP OR THE MODULE. THEY SAID THIS HAS BEEN A SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE 2008 G6. I THINK THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY GM. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. GM NEEDS A RECALL ON THIS MATTER. GM HAS HAD RECALLS ON PRIOR YEARS OF THE G6 WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
GEAR SHIFTER MOVES BUT CAR ROLLS AS ITS IN NEUTRAL NO MATTER WHAT WHEN I WENT TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK IT STILL ROLLED FORWARD, WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE IT STILL ROLLED FOWARD. ITS AS IF THE GEAR SHIFTER ISN'T PUTTING IT INTO THE CORRECT GEAR. NOW I HAVE TURNED MY CAR OFF AND IT WON'T RESTART BECAUSE IT DOESN'T THINK ITS IN PARK? WHAT COULD THIS BE?
SO ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY 2008 PONTIAC G6 GT, THE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. I DECIDED TO REPLACE BOTH LOW BEAM BULBS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGERS SIDE. THE PASSENGER SIDE HASN'T BEEN TOO BAD, IT WOULD GO OUT, BUT A TAP ON THE HEADLIGHT WOULD TURN IT BACK ON. THE DRIVERS SIDE HOWEVER, WOULD GO OUT AT ANY RANDOM TIME, THEN CUT BACK ON ALMOST IMMEDIATELY OR A FEW MINUTES LATER. I DID SEE THAT THE PLUG FOR THE LOW BEAM WAS A LITTLE MELTED, BUT DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT. I DON'T KNOW IF THE CAR WAS ABLE TO WITHSTAND THE CURRENT NEEDED FOR THE BULB OR THE WIRING WAS JUST TERRIBLE.

THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000.
POWER STEERING FAILURE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY CITY STREET ON MY WAY TO MAKE A LEFT TURN PATRIALLY THROUGH IT MY POWER STEERING FAILDED AND I ALMOST HIT A POLE.
