I'VE HAD THE POWER STEERING RECALL DONE A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND RECENTLY 3 TIMES I HAVE BEEN DRIVING DOWN A STATE HIGHWAY IN MY PONTIAC G6 AND THE POWER STEERING WOULD BE DISPLAYED AND THEN LOSE STEERING ALTOGETHER UNTIL I FINALLY ABLE TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE THEN IT WORKS. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING SMALL TURNING ADJUSTMENTS THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND THE STEERING GOES OUT IT MAKES FOR A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION! MY STEERING WORKED FINE BEFORE DOING THE RECALL AND AFRAID TO EVEN DRIVE IT NOW.
THE POWER STEERING KEEPS FAILING ON ME WHEN I DRIVE AND SOMETIMES STAYS OFF ALL DAY NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I RESTART THE CAR. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY AND IT DID NOT COME BACK UNTILL I GOT HOME AND RESTARTED THE CAR. THE SECOND TIME HAPPENED ON MY WAY TO WORK AROUND A CORNER AND I ALMOST WENT OFF OF THE ROAD. OTHERWISE IT KEEPS TURNING ON AND OFF ON ME EVERY DAY (MOSTLY OFF).
DRIVERS SEAT LEANING TOWARDS THE LEFT. SEARCHED FOR CAUSE AND FOUND METAL FRAME IN SEAT CRACKED THROUGH. NO SUPPORT ON BACK LEFT SIDE.
I NOTICED THAT MY DRIVER'S SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WAS OUT. I PURCHASED A NEW ONE BUT UPON INSTALLATION, I NOTICED THAT THE OLD ONE DID NOT VISUALLY APPEAR TO BE BAD. I REPLACED IT ANYWAY. A FEW WEEKS LATER THE SAME ONE WAS OUT AGAIN. I CHECKED IT FOR CONNECTION PROBLEMS ETC AND IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN. A FEW WEEKS LATER IT WAS OUT AGAIN. APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AGO, I WAS UNLOCKING MY DOORS WITH THE KEY FOB WHILE PARKED IN FRONT OF MY GARAGE DOOR AND NOTICED ON THE GARAGE DOOR THAT BOTH LIGHTS WERE WORKING; HOWEVER, WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR IT WENT OFF AND STAYED OFF UNTIL I UNLOCKED THE DOOR WITH THE FOB AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A TEMPORARY LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SWEENY GMC (7997 MARKET STREET, YOUNGSTOWN, OH 44512) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE SENSOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DUE TO A RECALL. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING) AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
WHEN I START MY CAR, I RECEIVE A POWER STEERING WARNING AND THE STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT MOVE. THE STEERING WHEEL WILL SHAKE AND THERE IS A KNOCKING NOISE. THIS ALSO HAPPENS SOMETIMES WHEN IM AT A RED LIGHT. TO GET IT BACK TO NORMAL I HAVE TO CUT THE CAR OFF AND CUT IT BACK ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT DID NOT SELECT THE CORRECT GEAR. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE; HOWEVER, WHEN SELECTING PARK, THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND AND REMAINED IN THE INITIAL SELECTED GEAR. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND MANUALLY SHIFT THE VEHICLE IN PARK FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 193,000
WHILE THE CAR IS DRIVING AT ANY SPEED THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKE LIGHTS WILL GO OUT RANDOMLY. THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS WILL JUST TURN OFF FOR NO REASON IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHILE DRIVING. AND WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS GO OUT THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON CONTINUOUSLY.
SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING, LEAVING DRIVER UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL TO STEER IN EITHER DIRECTION. CAUSING THE CAR TO BE UNUSABLE FOR ITS INABILITY TO CHANGE DIRECTION AT ANY GIVEN TIME INCREASING THE LIKELIHOOD OF A CRASH. THE MONITOR DISPLAYING THE CLOCK JUST HAD A MESSAGE THAT READ "POWER STEERING". MY EXPERIENCE WAS WHEN THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AND TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED 5 MPH, I WOULD THEN PARK IT SAFELY, TURN IT OFF AND USE ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION. THIS WOULD HAPPEN 1-2 TIMES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD OF TIME. THIS COMPLAINT IS IN RESPONSE TO MY VIN NOT BEING COVERED UNDER THE CAMPAIGN RECALL # 14V153000, ALTHOUGH MY MAKE/MODEL/YEAR ARE ALL LISTED UNDER THE RECALL, JUST NOT MY SPECIFIC CAR.
RACK AND PINION FAILURE CAN LEAD TO A CAR ACCIDENT. THE RACK AND PINION WAS REPLACED AROUND 3 YEARS AGO DUE TO THE SAME PROBLEM. THE STEERING IS STIFF WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL.
MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THE POWER STEERING. WHEN I START THE CAR, IT ONLY WORKS ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME. I HAVE TO TURN HE IGNITION OFF AND RESTART THE CAR 3-4 TIMES TO GET IT TO WORK PROPERLY. IF IT GOES OUT WHILE I'M DRIVING, I COULD EASILY GET HURT OR HURT SOMEONE ELSE. MY SEAT BELT SENSOR DOESN'T WORK. IT BEEPS AND DINGS AT ME WHILE I'M DRIVING, VERY DISTRACTING...MAKES ME JUMP WHEN I'M CONCENTRATING ON THE ROAD. I HAD TO REPLACE THE SAME HEADLIGHT 3-4 TIMES IN 3 MONTHS. THE HARNESS WAS ALL MELTED WHEN THE MECHANIC GOT IT OUT. NOT ONLY IS IT ILLEGAL FOR ME TO DRIVE WITHOUT ALL LIGHTS WORKING BUT IT'S DANGEROUS. ALSO, I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT MY BRAKE LIGHTS...THAT THEY MAY NOT LIGHT WHILE BRAKING, OR ILLUMINATE WHILE I'M NOT BRAKING. IT SAID NOT TO TAKE IT TO BE FIXED IF THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN POSSIBLY KNOW THERE'S A PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE REAR ENDS ME?
"TAKATA RECALL" IN MY PONTIAC G6 AFTER I HIT 100000 MILES I STARTED HAVING ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS. MY ABS LIGHT KEEP COMING ON AND OFF. MY THEFT-DETERRENT ALARMS COMES ON AND STAY ON WHILE I DRIVE. THEN IT GOES OFF STAY OFF FOR A DAY MAYBE THEN COME BACK ON. THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON THEN GOES OFF AND COME BACK ON. THE CAR PULLS FORWARD, WHICH IS SCARY. I DRIVE SLOW BECAUSE I WANT TO MAKE SURE I CAN STOP IF I HAVE TO. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE SHOP. PUT IT ON THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE THE CODES THAT WERE COMING UP CONTRADICTS WHAT THE CAR IS ACTUALLY DOING. THE MECHANIC SAID I MAY NEED A COMPUTER BUT I MAY HE REALLY DID NOT HAVE A DEFINITELY ANSWER ON WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY CAR. THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY (VIN) BUT I BELIEVE THEIR SHOULD BE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING FUEL AND THE FUEL PRESSURE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
POWER STEERING FAILED SUDDENLY WHILE IN MOTION, AFTER 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING. DROVE STRAIGHT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID THE PROBLEM WAS ELECTRICAL, THAT THERE WAS ENOUGH FLUID IN THE CAR. PONTIAC SPECIAL WARRANTY COVERED POWER ASSIST MODULE TO BE REPLACED. SAME THING FAILED LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER. I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE MY WHEEL AT ALL. NO WARNING. PONTIAC WILL NOT APPROVE OF STEERING COLUMN TO BE REPLACED. I FEEL TOTALLY UNSAFE DRIVING MY CAR. BUT SHE WAS DRIVING PERFECTLY BEFORE THIS.
A YEAR AGO I HAD THE POWER STEERING COLUMN REPLACED DUE TO A RECALL. YESTERDAY MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND MY MECHANIC SAID IT WAS THE SENSOR (THE SAME PART THAT WAS RECALLED). YET THE WARRANTY FROM THE LAST ONE I HAD REPLACED WAS UP. I CALLED GM TO SEE ABOUT THE DEFICIENT PART AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME. ALSO, THEY DO NO SELL THE SENSOR TO CUSTOMERS, ONLY TO A DEALERSHIP - SO I HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN JUST TO GET A NEW SENSOR - THE PART THAT I JUST HAD REPLACED FROM THE RECALL! MY QUESTION IS NOW DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM EVERY YEAR BECAUSE THEY ARE MAKING DEFICIENT PARTS THAT THEY CAN'T STAND BEHIND?!
THE AIR BAGS HAVE NEVER DEPLOYED AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON. THE POWERSTEERING IS ELECTRIC AND NOT PUMP ASSIST AND IT KEEPS GOING OUT AND NOW MAY HAVE TO REPLACE ENTIRE STERRING COLUMN. HAVE CALLED GMC TO COMPLAIN AND STILL MO RECALL HAS BEEN MADE. GOOGLE MY ISSUE ABD FOUND THAT THERE ARE ALOT OF PEOPLE WITH MY CAR THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. FEEL HELPLESS
AFTER THE CAR IS STARTED AND ATTEMPTING TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, OR ANY OTHER GEAR IN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, THE SHIFT LEVER MOVES INTO THE POSITIONS, BUT THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE AND THE CAR REMAINS IN A NUETRAL POSITION AND THE BRAKE PEDAL DOES NOT ALLOW ANY MOVEMENT. WITH THAT THE CAR IS ABLE TO ROLL FORWARD, OR REVERSE DEPENDING ON THE LEVELNESS OF THE AREA IT IS PARKED IN. ONCE THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF, THE CAR WILL NOT RE-START IMMEDIATELY AFTER. THE ENGINE TRIES TO START, BUT WON'T. AFTER WAITING FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, THE CAR WILL START AGAIN AND EVERYTHING WORKS FINE AGAIN.
TAKAKA RECALL MY POWER STEERING LIGHT HAS CAME ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL HAS BEGAN TO SHAKE PROGRESSIVELY WORSE SINCE. PLEASE HELP.
WHILE DRIVING MY STEERING WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO TURN. MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK UP SO MUCH WHILE DRIVING..I HAVE TO TURN OFF MY CAR IN ORDER TO HAVE CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL,WHICH ALMOST CAUSE ME SERVERAL INCIDENT. DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT ANYMORE..
THERE IS A CURRENT RECALL OUT FOR CERTAIN MODELS OF THE G6 FOR ELECTRONIC STEERING ASSIST FAILURE. AS WELL AS U JOINT ISSUES. I BELIEVE MY CAR IS AFFECTED. MY POWER STEERING ONLY WORKS CORRECTLY WHEN ITS UNDER 70 DEGREES. AND IT ONLY WORKS FOR A SHORT TIME. IVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 5 YEARS AND NEVER ONCE HAD A FULL DAY WHERE THE STEERING WORKED LIKE IT SHOULD. DEALER SAYS MY CAR IS NOT AFFECTED AND WANTS ME TO PAY FOR A NEW STEERING MOTOR. AS FOR THE U JOINT ISSUE WITH STEERING. IVE SPENT WELL OVER $2,000 ON TRYING TO GET MY STEERING/SUSPENSION FIXED AND IT STILL HAS PROBLEMS. I HAVE TO GET THE VEHICLE ALIGNED EVERY MONTH. THE STEERING EITHER JOLTS TO ONE SIDE WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP. OR ANOTHER WAY WHEN FLOORING IT. ITS BEYOND DANGEROUS! WHEN TURNING A CORNER, YOU HAVE TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE WHEEL YOURSELF OR ELSE THE CAR WILL CONTINUE TO GO WHERE THE WHEEL IT TURNED. I FEAR TAKING THIS CAR ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER GETTING VEHICLE ALIGNED, ALIGNMENT ONLY WORKS FOR 2 WEEKS, THEN IT BACK TO WHERE PROBLEMS STARTED.
PURCHASED FROM ALLSTAR CHEVROLET NORTH ON 2/12/16 AND WAS GIVEN A CARFAX REPORT THAT SHOWED A CLEAN RECORD. NOTHING WAS MENTIONED ABOUT THE SEVERAL RECALLS ON THIS CAR. I CURRENTLY WORK 1/2 MILE FROM HOME AND I HAVE ONLY PUT 10,000 ON THE VEHICLE. ABOUT A MONTH AGO I WAS TURNING AT A LIGHT ON A BUSY INTERSECTION AND I LOST ALL POWER STEERING. WHEN THAT HAPPENED SEVERAL CHIMES AND THE WARNING "POWER STEERING" WAS DISPLAYED ON RADIO. I MANAGED TO PULL INTO THE CLOSET PARKING LOT AND TURNED THE MOTOR OFF. I LEFT THE CAR OFF FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. WHEN I RESTARTED CAR THE POWER STEERING RETURNED. CALLED THE CLOSET MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THIS CAR HAS HAD SEVERAL RECALLS ONE BEING POWER STEERING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AND HE DENIED ANY OPEN OR CLOSED RECALLS. HE EXPLAINED THAT THEY REPLACED THE STEERING SHAFT TORQUE SENSOR. I ASKED HIM FOR A COPY OF THE REPAIR HISTORY EMAILED TO ME. ON THE REPORT THERE WAS 3 RECALLS LISTED. I CALLED GM AND FILED A REPORT. GM CALLED BACK AND TOLD ME ALL REQUIRED REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED AND THE MATTER IS CLOSED. I EXPLAINED THE CAR I HAD ONLY PLACED 10,000 MILES ON THE CAR SINCE PURCHASE AND IF THE REPAIR WAS DONE PROPERLY I SHOULDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM.WHEN I ASKED ABOUT THE SPECIAL WARRANTY GM ISSUED FROM THE RECALL (I OBTAINED THIS INFORMATION FROM THE DOCUMENTS THE SERVICE MANAGER EMAILED) I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND THEY WOULD ONLY PAY IF THIS SHOWED THE STEERING SHAFT TORQUE SENSOR WAS BAD. I ASKED TO HAVE THIS MAILED OR EMAILED TO ME AND WAS TOLD "WE DON'T DO THAT". I ALSO TOLD HER ABOUT THE STRONG GAS SMELL AND I ONLY GET 125-150 MILES ON A FULL TANK. IF I HAD KNOWN ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS I WOULDN'T HAVE TOUCHED THIS CAR. PLEASE HELP. I'M TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS CAR.
WHEN I STARTED THE CAR, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY TIGHT AND I WOULD HAVE TO STRUGGLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, WHILE SITTING STILL THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE. STARTED IT UP THE NEXT DAY AND IT TURNED WITH NO PROBLEM.
IT FIRST STARTED WITH THE CAR BEING PARKED AND STARTING, THE POWER STEERING LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIOLENTLY VIBRATE. IT TOOK SEVERAL TIMES OF TURNING THE IGNITION ON AND OFF BEFORE IT WOULD START WORKING. NOW, IT DOES IT AT BOTH STOP LIGHTS AND WHILE TRAVELING, AT VARIOUS SPEEDS; THE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT. ACCORDING TO RESEARCH ONLINE, THIS HAS HAPPENED TO SIMILAR VEHICLES IN THIS MODEL YEAR.
WIRED CONNECTION TO FUSE BOX KEEPS BURNING UP THIS IS THE 4TH TIMES TOOK IT TO SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS UNKNOWN REASON FOUND. MAKES THE CAR COMPLETELY DIE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND NO POWER.
2008 PONTIAC G6 POWER STEERING FAILURE. THE POWER STEERING FAILS WHILE DRIVING CAUSING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS AND NEAR CRASHES. I HAVE ALMOST DRIVEN OFF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES, INTO OTHER VEHICLES, AND ACROSS MY FRONT LAWN WHEN TRYING TO TURN OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN INTO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP ON 12/18/17 FOR RECALL #14118 (ELECTRIC POWER STEERING). UNDER THIS RECALL, DEALERS ARE INSTRUCTED TO REPLACE THE EPS MOTOR. MY EPS MOTOR WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, REPLACING THIS MOTOR DOES NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE CAR IS NOW RENDERED USELESS TO ME BECAUSE IT IS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT ANY OTHER WORK PERFORMED TO RESOLVE THE POWER STEERING FAILURE WOULD HAVE TO BE PAID OUT-OF-POCKET BY ME. GM IS WELL AWARE OF THIS DEFECT (HENCE THE RECALLS) AND SHOULD BE LIABLE FOR ALLEVIATING THE PROBLEM CREATED BY THIS DEFECT.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT, NEARLY WENT INTO DITCH. NOW SOMETIMES SHAKES THE WHEEL INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE SITTING. SOMETIMES DOESN'T WORK AT ALL - COMES AND GOES INTERMITTENTLY, PARKED, HAS NOT WENT TOTALLY OUT AGAIN WHILE DRIVING BUT HAS INTERMITTENT SHAKES. THERE WAS A RECALL BUT SOMEHOW (ACCORDING TO GM) MY SPECIFIC CAR WAS NOT COVERED WHEN MOST OF 2008 AND 3 YEARS BEFORE AND 2 YEARS AFTER WERE 100% COVERED/RECALLED (BUILD DATE FEW MONTHS WINDOW IN LATE 2007?) . IF 5 YEARS OF PRODUCTION ON AT LEAST 3 VEHICLE MODELS GETS RECALLED, WHY NOT A COUPLE MONTHS IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT?
POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING. SHOCKS AND STRUTS OUT. MAKES A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND WHEN TURNING.
MY VEHICLE IS NOT REGISTERING THAT IT IS IN PARK CAUSING IT TO BE A VERY BAD CONCERN. IF I CUT THE ENGINE OFF AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS NOT REGISTERED THAT IT IS IN PARK I CANNOT RESTART MY CAR.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AS USUAL AND IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING BROKE AND MY SEAT BELT GOT LOOSE ALL OF A SUDDEN.I WAS DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD WITH NO TURNS OR NO OTHER CHANGES.THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE SEAT BELT WAS NOT RETRACTING BACK ANYMORE.A PART LIKE A SEAT BELT IS SUPPOSED TO FUNCTION AT ALL TIMES AND IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT FAIL UNLESS IT GOT DAMAGED DUE TO A MAJOR IMPACT ON THE CAR.THIS COULD HAVE PUT MY LIFE AT RISK IF I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE SEAT BELT WOULD HAVE FAILED AT THAT POINT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE POWER STEERING BECAME INOPERABLE. THE POWER STEERING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (BILL RAPP BUICK GMC, 3449 BURNET AVENUE, SYRACUSE, NY 13206) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,000.
I HAVE A 2008 PONTIAC G6 GT, THE HORN, CRUISE CONTROL AND THE ILLUMINATION OF THE STEERING IS NOT WORKING. MY STEERING WHEEL MAKES A POPPING NOISE WHEN I TURN IT. WHEN I LOCK THE CAR WITH THE REMOTE THE HORN SOUNDS.
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WITHOUT INCIDENT AND WONT COME OFF
FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY PORT DEVELOPED A CRACK, RESULTING IN FUEL LEAKING FROM THE AREA. A VERY STRONG FUEL ODOR WAS NOTICED WHEN BEING DRIVEN OR PARKED, WITH SLIGHT DRIPS SOMETIMES NOTICED ON THE GARAGE FLOOR. THE ODOR WAS SO STRONG THAT IT WAS EVEN NOTICEABLE IN THE LIVING AREAS FROM SIMPLY ENTERING AND LEAVING THE GARAGE. IF AN IGNITION SOURCE WERE PRESENT, A VEHICLE FIRE COULD HAVE OCCURRED, A SERIOUS CONCERN. MY LOCAL MECHANIC INSPECTED AND REPAIRED THE VEHICLE, AND BELIEVED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE PART OF A PONTIAC RECALL ON SIMILAR COBALT, G5, ION VEHICLES, THAT THEY'VE SEEN THE PROBLEM ON BEFORE, BUT OUR VIN DOES NOT REGISTER AS A RECALLED VEHICLE FOR THIS PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ISSUE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING AND GO OFF WHEN THE BRAKE IS PUSHED. THIS IS ON MY 16 YEAR OLD CHILD'S CAR. I AM WORRIED THAT SHE WILL BE REAR ENDED.

BRAKE LIGHTS ON WHEN CAR IN MOTION, BRAKE LIGHTS ARE OFF WNEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED.CAR WAS IN FOR RECALL TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT THE PROBLEM CAME BACK. DEALER SAID, CAR MUST BE HAVING THE PROBLEM FOR THEM TO FIX. SOMEONE MUST BE FOLLOWING TO SEE THIS PROBLEM. THE DRIVER CAN'T SEE THE BRAKE LIGHTS FROM INSIDE WHILE DRIVING.
MY PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. REPLACED BULB. INTERMITTENT GOES OUT. NOW IGNITION NOT READING KEY. WILL NOT START ENGINE UNLESS I FLIP THE KEY.
I'VE NOTICED THAT MY PASSENGER AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT HASN'T BEEN TURNING OFF AFTER SOMEONE HAS LEFT THE PASSENGER SEAT. I USUALLY HAVE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IF I'M DRIVING, SHUT THE CAR OFF AND START IT AGAIN FOR THE SYSTEM TO RECOGNIZE THAT THERE ISN'T A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT ANYMORE. OTHERWISE IT WILL CONTINUE TO FLASH THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT LIGHT AND CHIME. ALSO, THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT LIGHT WILL KEEP FLASHING AND CHIMING EVEN THOUGH I AM WEARING MY SEAT BELT. STARTED 2/20/18.
1ST ISSUE WITH LIGHTING: REPEATED ISSUES WITH ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO FRONT HEAD LIGHTS. LIGHT BULBS TESTED AND WERE OK. MECHANICS WOULD RECONNECT LOOSE WIRING TO THE HEADLIGHTS. MORE THAN 6 REPAIRS BY MECHANICS FAILED TO SOLVE PROBLEM IN 9 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. 2ND ISSUE WITH POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL - UNKNOWN CAUSE: AFTER OWNING CAR FOR 9 YEARS, FRONT OF CAR "EXPLODED" RESULTING IN FIRE IN FRONT RIGHT QUADRANT OF CAR AND ULTIMATELY BURNING ENTIRE ENGINE, FRONT OF CAR, FRONT WINDOWS, FRONT TIRES. FIREMAN STATED CAUSE OF FIRE COULD HAVE BEEN SHORT IN ELECTRICAL WIRING TOO CLOSE TO OIL TANK. ROOT CAUSE OF EXPLOSION UNKNOWN. NO HUMAN INJURIES. CAR WAS IN MOTION LESS THAN 5 MPH PULLING INTO OWNER'S DRIVEWAY WHEN EXPLOSION OCCURRED. NO ENGINE ALERT LIGHTS WENT OFF AHEAD OF EXPLOSION. NO WARNING SYSTEM ALERTED TO ANY PROBLEMS WITH ENGINE, SENSORS, HEAT, OIL LEVELS, ETC.

THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER (JEFF PERRY GMC OF PURUE, IL) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
THE VEHICLES MAIN WIRING HARNESS FOR THE HEADLIGHTS MALFUNCTIONS. WE HAVE CONTACTED A NUMBER OF PONTIAC DEALERSHIPS AND THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. MY DAUGHTER IS IN COLLEGE AND LIVES 32 MILES AWAY AND IS DRIVING WITH ONE HEADLIGHT. EVERY TIME WE PUT A NEW BULB IN IT BLOWS. WE HAVE TO PAY HER SCHOOL TUITION AND CAN NOT AFFORD ANOTHER $500-$800 TO HAVE THE MAIN HARNESS REPLACED.
CAR STARTS HARD AFTER FUELING NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU PUT IN IT ALSO GAS GAGE FLOATS AND WHEN YOU USE THE A/C YOU CAN LITERALLY SEE THE GAS GAGE MOVING IT USE TO COST ME 35 DOLLARS EVERY TWO WEEKS AND THAT GOING 400 PLUS MILES NOW I GET MAYBE 300 MILES TO THE GALEN WITH MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON NOW AND A CODE THAT READS CHECK GAS CAP THIS PROBLEM IS COSTING ME THOUSANDS OF WASTED MONEY AND TIME
PULLED 2008 G6 INTO MY DRIVEWAY. PUT IT IN PARK, WENT TO EXIT AND IT STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. MY HUSBAND APPLIED THE BREAKS AND FOUND THAT THE SHIFTER WAS NOT DOING IT'S JOB. WE HAD TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THIS ALSO CAUSED THE CAR TO NOT START. THE TRANSMISSION CABLE SEPARATED.

I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL ON MY 2008 PONTIAC G6 GT. I AM HAVING STEERING ISSUES WHERE MY STEERING WHEEL CLICKS. PLUS MY AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE THROUGH PONTIAC THEY GAVE ME A REFERENCE NUMBER.8-3680048435. I ASKED FOR THE CORPORATE OFFICE TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE AT GM ABOUT MY CAR BEING MISSED ON A RECALL AND NO CORPORATE PERSON WAS GIVEN.
MY AIR BAGS DON'T WORK IN MY CAR. MY CAR WAS KEPT OUTSIDE ALL THESE YEARS. MY CRUISE CONTROL DOESN'T WORK AT ALL AND MY VOLUME FOR THE RADIO AND ILLUMINATION OF THE STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T WORK. I NEVER OWNED A CAR THAT HAD ISSUES WITH AN AIRBAG. I'D BE WILLING TO SPEAK TO THE MEDIA AND TV PERSONNEL.
